Wtf is everyone here saying.
Engineer is very much wanted in endgame cause +150 condition damage buff. It also has a lot of utility and adaptability, but you can’t be a complete scrub, like you can be on a condi ranger.

And especially don’t listen to these salty engi mains saying that it will only get nerfs.

Anet’s mentality is this: you play PvP for fun/competitiveness, you get rewards while doing it. NOT: You play for rewards, so you just happen to play PvP. – I actually agree with Anet on this point.

There is a problem however with the AT rewards. If Anet actually believes that rewards are balanced there, then they simply have no idea what they are doing.

The OP is Katsumi and only wants the rewards to increase because he knows he’s going to win every single one. The whole motivation argument of his is just a cover, people who care about PvP will play ATs every day for fun, more rewards aren’t needed. Not that I personally care because I uninstalled the game today, but the Abjured doesn’t really deserve more from the community or Anet because the only players on that team that are actually decent people are Nos and Zero.

So much stupidity in these forums. He posted the AT rewards about DAILY tournaments, in which every single gw2 player can participate. If the rewards are pittiful for the common player, what’s the point of having big rewards for best players in an MMO.

In this update, we have taken a look at a few underperforming weapons for the warrior: rifle and torch – warrior patch notes.

If warrior rifle is underperforming and got buffs, where are changes to ENGINEER rifle then? I haven’t seen that build under viable builds for PvP. Just becuse Marvin outskills his opponents and is using it on his stream doesn’t mean rifle doesn’t need love. Actually there was no love for engineer at all this patch :/.

Good thing at least elementalist got some viable dps options and not more support. Oh wait….

I have to say that I disagree on this post, however I understand your thoughs so I’ll just tell you what’s my opinion about rev at the moment and what I think that holds alot of people back when they try to play this class in ranked.
First of all I have to say that after the sigils rework you can easily have access to more condi removals if you think you need them, however, a big part of playing rev vs heavy condi comps is preventing the condis by either dodging, blocking or even line of sighting and not by spamming condi removals like ele/druid/mesm/engi. Second, despite condi rev being playable and decent right now, its definitely not as good as power at least when you are playing vs top tier players, so you better stick with your power build and practice it as much as you can.
Now, despite what many people might say, power rev is not a bad class for solo Qs. Eventually, we all know that atm if you want to be placed in top 10 or even top 20, you will have to duo Q with someone because you cant rly solo carry games with any class, although, I can tell you that rev, because of its role’s variety, is one of thr best classes for solo Q, you just have to know what role you will have to perform in each different kind of comps for example: if you have a tanky heavy tf comp with 1 or 2 side noders (engi,druid…) you will have to roam like a thief unless you have one in your team; if you have a squishy team without node olders you either try to cheese Tfs by insta killing or you try to do a sidenoder’s job by pushing good MUs and holding nodes vs classes that wont kill you (mesm, maybe thief if you areny rdy to face this MU or if you kitten up), keep in mind that you shouldnt die in any 1v1 situation as you have the tools to safely disengage , the only way you might die is if you get plused 1; if you have a thief comp with enough sustain to hold tfs and such, try to predict you thief’s role, dont steal him his role, teamfight when you think you can win it, push 1v1s when you predict your thief will come for the plus 1. Ofc this is situational and it depends on the enemy skill but my point is that rev , having in mind that you are mechanically decent, if you rotate well is imo actually one of the strongest classes for solo Q

Pretty kitten solid post, tho I would argue that thief and mesmer are still the strongest classes for soloQ due to their playmaking potential.

Just want to jump in here and say.

What if non of the actually skilled players, are even playing GW2’s Ranked leagues now?

Would that not mean that, the player base that is currently for the most part. Are bad players who can not or will not figure out how to PvP, or just players afking their matches for rewards, or gold from someone else.

There is seriously a lot of glaring issues with GW2’s Ranked PvP atm. That just chases away, a lot of actually good legit no cheating PvPers from this game. Aside from the balance issues.

I’d actually say that balance is the main reason skilled PvPers leave the game. Since we have had the same meta for 2 years, it’s getting kinda boring. Think about it, skilled pvpers are usually players, who have played the game for some time and playing all that time the same builds isn’t really fun.

stun it, and it cant come back from that. It’s either healbot or have your team yell at you bc youre not a healbot.

Can’t come back? What about lightning flash? Shocking aura? Obsidian Flesh? Overloads?

All of these are instant cast skills that can and will save you from stunlocking.

They will save you for some time, but you absolutely NEED your team to peel for you. People don’t realize that ele is just as team dependant as a necro is.

If an ele gets TOP damage, that means everyone else on the team is complete and utter crap. Top kills maybe because of Stone Flesh stomp but that’s probably it.

I bet if you made ele simply a pure healbot (which would mean reducing most of its already weak damage) it probably wouldn’t be meta in the highest tiers of meta anymore.

Curious how noone here mentioned sigil rework. It affected rev more than it did anybody (except maybe fresh air ele, since the air sigil was like 25% of its sustained damage). That’s why power rev is so weak right now, condi still needs work before it will work.

Make the meta fun diverse and “fun” again and you will have a better game. Rewards don’t make the game better or more attractive for a player (on the long run).

If you play necro, not reaper, then yea sure, you probably won’t beat him. Any other case where you have even some boon strip or corrupt you win. At least according to my experience of playing a necro in the last 2 seasons.

Ask people you were playing with for their rating. Would be good to know the rating to see against which tier you are up against.

Also, my experience with ele is the exact opposite. Healer ele is pretty strong if you know how to use it :>

There is a clear difference in winning against a gold rated enemy team and a diamond rated enemy team. If you don’t believe me, watch a stream of someone really high up the ladder and watch their rotations.

He is right on the first point tho. We should be able to see what a team member has equipped and traited. Then again there would probably be a lot of hate towards people not using meta builds and Anet would be finally forced to make non meta builds that much better, tho I doubt that would ever happen.

He has a point tho, most players only get 2-3 pips per tick. Getting an extra 3 pips per tick is 100% extra pips at that point. Too much, but still, there should be more rewards for veterans.

I roam with S/F ele constantly. But its a condi heavy hybrid. While i realy like fire/earth/tempest (which does huge damage, unforunately a bit hard to land in duels ^^). earth/arcane/tempest plays most exiting.
An yes earth is mostly to defend against those thiefs that are omnipresent in WvW ….I actually developed the build to survive against them ….

Mate, you’ve been using that build for so long yet we still don’t have a video about it? Cmon, I really wanna see you using it.

I actually think Spirit Watch is pretty good and even ranked worthy with all the updates, it is such a breath of fresh air to play. The community just has a negative view of it and has gotten everyone else to think the same way, in fact it should have been added before Skyhammer. Here’s hoping to seeing it added in season 8.

Spirit watch has pretty bad kite spots, therefore it doesn’t belong in a ranked environment.

Best build so far in 2 years… adapt or die. The game was stale and people claimed pvp was dying.. They change it up… now its worse? logic much? So many left the game over that very meta you claim was balanced and good LOL. Too funny. Man the population of this game got so bad defending that previous meta. It was all copy and paste builds and now you need to actually think? Thank god they trashed sigils all of you sheep using the same stuff isnt how a game should stay…. it was extremely stagnant.. Oh and yeah i been around since beta and mostly pvp and wvw. Only thing im a little upset over is Plague but I get over it since im not a cry baby.

Man what happened to actual skill instead of mindless previous meta. Yep it was mindless i actually didnt participate in previous season over how bad it is and was. All the people upset here got carried by builds.

(Oh and i play all classes well except ele which i know got hit sadly with no buffs to compensate for the other nerfs which were needed…. so dont think im some elitist to one)

Except the meta hasn’t changed at all. There is no other newly viable build. All it did was nerf, rightly so, but nerf alone won’t make something viable to play with all the powercreep HoT introduced.

Again I dont understand this nerfs, engi is at the egde of meta, and already rare to see compared to other classes. And now are important meta traits nerfed again which have never been a problem? Protection injection was untouched since years, nobody complained about it, and now its nerfed? Just tell me why?

All we got this patch is some QOL to turrets, nerfs to pvp meta traits, and med kit buff and I still boubt somebody will use med kit now… NO rifle buffs and NO gadget buffs, no real buffs at all

Except it’s probably going to be one of the best PvP classes.

Sure, how good a class is, is measured by how many buffs/nerfs it received.

Power rev had 25% of it damage removed by removal of proc sigils. We’ll see about condi rev tho.

As a zerk scepter focus ele I’d be more afraid of the fact that there is NO MORE PROC SIGILS = 30% of the damage is gone.

This is a weird post. I don’t think devs should really take a lot from as it completely ignores some of the issues.
Ele is completely NOT fine outside of meta healbot. Mesmer balanced outside of chrono-shatter!? Are we even playing the same game? Chilling death is not the right name of the trait and is only OP in WvW.
Engineer doesn’t NEED help. Just like all other classes it needs build diversity, not desperate help. What about the fact that DH is almost completely reliant on damage from Test of Faith?

all passives (activate X at 50% HP etc , or activate Y when stunned etc) should be removed from the game. Its pure casual player crutches that makes everyone look better than they are.

the kittenload of passives are anoying, but there is a reason why they have to exist, thieves, all that passives are needed for granting a window of reaction when jumped by a stealthed thief,removing all that passives pvp will become the reign of instaganking thieves, to remove all that passives first had to remove stealth and tone down the thief ports.

Bahahah Megalindil’s witch hunt continues. You know Thieves damage came because of all the Passives and high defenses in game right?

who have talked of burst damage?, classes able to do high burts are ok, problem is when burst comes from “nowhere”

Only mesmer and thief can do burst out of stealth (don’t include engi, rifle can’t burst under a second). Scepter ele can do massive burst, but is completely terrible. Shatter mesmer is almost as bad.

Passive sustain needs to be toned down, this is kitten like having primal burst skills count as T3 adrenaline skills for trivial upkeep on T3 adrenal health and trivial cleansing of 3 condis every 3 seconds.

I don’t think you know what “passive” means, since both those things rely on you actively using a skill to activate them. That is literally the opposite of being passive.

Except it is passive. You hit something and you then passively regenerate X amount of HP. It you gained flat 4k healing directly by landing a burst skill, that wouldn’t be passive.
Besides, minions, pets, gyros, turrets, clones never dodge Arc Divider.

I’d like warrior to be strong. But just not so easy to play at the same time.

If you just want max ferocity, you can take Valkyrie gear and combine with the Furious Maintenance oil and Rune of the Wurm. With full stacks of sigil of cruelty this gets you to 270% crit damage with no traits included. You still need to find crit chance somewhere though.

Yea, they are too strong right now when it comes to solo, they have just too much roaming power. Thankfully, most thief players are easy to predict and fall off in teamfights so organized groups (which are non-existent right now) don’t get the same amount of use out of them as soloQ players.

On the topic tho, if we choose our attunements, I have great fear that it will kill usage of current weapons, as you need all 4 attunements for them to work. Not to mention the plethora of Traits connected to all the different attunements.

Mixing them on the fly is a different story.

2) All MMR gained/lost from a match is calculated based off of average TEAM MMR, and not personal MMR.

You lose 50% of MMR based on your own and 50% based on your team’s MMR. Would that work?

It would “work” in so much as the current MMR calculation system “works” I guess.

But I’m not sure why you’re looking for a 50% change, when it would be both needlessly complicated, and still provide worse results than calculating mmr gains/losses 100% based off of average team MMR.

I was thinking of these 2 problems:
“- players never really going down in leaderboard, since in average, players won’t lose many points. #250 players will be hard to catch if they”
“Then again, one can make the argument that if you cannot maintain an 80% win ratio, you’re not good enough to carry your teams and therefore you don’t deserve your high rating.”
I’m pretty sure Anet considers both of these as a potential problem and splitting loss of MMR based on team’s and a player’s own MMR 50/50 would certainly give more control over both. Numbers could be tweaked ofc (60/40….)

I’d rather see other stuff on Necro get buffed than wells. Wellspam is way too easy and not really fun, I used to play it pre-HoT and we surely don’t need even more aoe in PvP.

Greatsword could be fun if it got buffed, that’s what I’d like to see change.
