So even just capturing the entire monitor in windowed mode gives you the same issue?

PC Died. How does this build match up?

Fermi.2409

That new build should be a decent bit better then the old one for GW2, assuming you overclock the CPU. A GTX 960 isn’t the greatest bang for your buck, though, so you might be able to buy something better there. It seems like you’re getting a prebuilt, though, so it’s hard to say.

Imo, get windows 8 for sure. You can always upgrade to 10 later for free as well.

What died on the old PC, though? You may be able to salvage some/all of it and save quite a bit of money.

We know how gw2 hates amd but this solves nothing. So we still fight here and keep w8ing for some official answer WHEN are they going to fix it.

So either I’m still opened for new ideas and official answer when is this going to be fixed.

The thing is, nothing is really broken. The game just relies heavily on single core performance, which AMD lacks.

Can you show a screenshot of what you’re looking at? I have no idea what you mean by scaled resolution.

In my OBS menu, all I see is this, where you can adjust the scale of the resolution to something more reasonable. Assuming it looks similar to what it does on my screen, set the base resolution to 2560×1600 and downscale it by 1.5x or 2x to stream ~1080P or ~720P video (using the “Resolution Downscale” dropdown box).

LFG tool: Add class filter

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Fermi.2409

Fermi.2409

I’d rather have an 11k Ele than a 2k Ele even though we all understand it’s not a foolproof measure.

And when i say ‘shopping list’, i mean a very long and nuanced lfg post.

Things like that are a perfect example of what starts exclusivity. You would rather have player A join your party then player B. As it stands either player can join and try (unless your party just vote kicks), with your filter idea, you remove the ability of player B to join: that’s exclusion.

As it stands some people do make “shopping list” lfg listings, they are NOT the majority. There are many reasons the majority of listings aren’t like this, and many players in runs that are titled with long requirments don’t always hold people to them. Often allowing others to join. So as it stands now, classes that would most likely be excluded by a simple click can currently join. By adding a little check box you can click to exclude anyone playing a certain class you remove that chance, making it 100% certain no one from that class can join.

As I’ve said from the start, a preferred class check box that shows which classes would be preferred might be OK, a filter that’s main function is to exclude others, No TY

The thing is, I should be able to (and can) exclude people from my group if I so choose.

I really hate to recommend a prebuilt, but atm there is a 30% off sale (code: 30SPRING) at HP. So it makes it tolerable when you can get an i7-4790k and a gtx 980 in one for about 1k.

Going to quote myself as I’ve seen much lesser systems for about the same price getting +1, which doesn’t make much sense. I’ll even add the link: http://slickdeals.net/f/7774825-hp-envy-phoenix-desktop-i7-4790-8gb-ddr3-4gb-gtx-980-1089-free-shipping

I’d say go for this, although you’ll most likely want to replace the PSU asap, which will run you another $80-100. Also, (assuming you don’t have a KB/M since you’re using a laptop), getting a decent mechanical keyboard and a good mouse would also be smart things to do.

if your in the united states go to ibuypower.com buy the best one you can afford and you will be fine yes you spend more for the performance then building it yourself but lots of people don’t feel they can build their own machines

good luck

Definitely do not do this. iBuyPower (and CyberPowerPC) are two sites that you want to avoid. If you’re going to get a prebuilt, go to eCollegePC.com and get a custom build from them (this page).

Probably: CPU: i5-4590
Stock heatsink
ASUS H81M-D PLUS mobo
8 GB of ram (2x 4 GB) ($76 one)
1 TB Western Digital Blue ($57 one)
4 GB GTX 970
Whatever case you want, just please don’t get that basic one because it’s ugly as everliving hell
600watt Corsair CX600 PSU

And leave everything else how it was.

You really should just build your own, though. You get way, way more for your money. I’d suggest something like this.

Eh, the default movement binds (qweasd) are fine, especially with the use of the right mouse button. The skill/dodge/action ones all needed to go immediately, though.

And you hardly need a G600/something similar, a mouse with 4 extra buttons will let you cover all of the skills in GW2 with ease.

It was insensitive, and offensive.

Not in the slightest.

Yes, I should have to screw with/lower all of my settings just to play the game.

I actually like seeing another warrior in pugs (I’m generally running PS banner scrub because I find it fun and I’m too lazy to play Ele to might stack instead) since at least they are usually reasonably capable of not dying. I can’t stand to see the aforementioned staff Guardians or Rangers (although I’m generally pretty happy if I see spotter and melee range from the Ranger).

I generally don’t care excessively much unless the people are really bad, honestly. As much as I like getting the dungeons done quickly (and I run the meta builds on all of my characters) I just really can’t be assed too care as long as things go smoothly and reasonably fast.

I’m curious, how did the game run on the G630? I have a G620+mobo sitting around and I’m not sure if it’s worth setting up as a home/travel PC.

Actually I’ve found myself a class I think. GS ranger. Insanely healy and fun thus far. Plus I have a little bird following that wrecks stuff.

I may regret this once everyone starts telling me I can’t join their dungeons or whatever…

99% of people don’t really care what you play as long as you’re reasonably competent, although ideally you’ll bring at least some of the group support your class usually does (Spotter/Frost Spirit for Rangers).

Ranger is a very good pick, though, and really quite fun. I’d suggest giving all of the weapons a try, though. You might find that you like something you didn’t expect.

You can use dual swords in PvP, but for PvE you’ll mostly want to stick with GS/Axe+Mace.

But since this game doesn’t have a Finder I’m either going to have to pug it or find a guild or something.

Man I miss finders.

What do you mean by finders? GW2 has an LFG.

It…does? Like not a channel but an actual automated group finder tool?

Go to the friend channel and hit the second tab down. Just make sure to read the descriptions before you join a group.

The only ones that are going to complain about ping times under 300 are pvp and fps players and that’s only because they consider themselves elite and their performance is determined by their ping times because their bots can’t go any faster than their internet performance

That’s a pretty kitten condescending statement.

Not to mention that it’s hugely inaccurate.
