I would not buy any merchandise at all, I did not find this option in the survey sadly. I keep gaming and real life stuff strictly seperated so I never buy any merchandise ever for any game.
Come on, you know if you could buy a custom GW2 t-shirt with your 5th person 30k achievement points you would. That or one that says, “One of my 30 accounts.” Or maybe a Snuggie.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
You don’t need ectoplasm to buy ascended accessories. The WvW Laurel merchant sells them for a cheaper price.
Amulets and rings yes for laurels and badges of honor. Accessories still cost 40 laurels and 50 ectos just like the normal laurel merchant.
Ok thanks, I set up the account and the amount of info you get looks really nice.
Although now I see something called ‘Track Investments’ and when I add an item like ectos it gives me the option to ‘buy stock’. This doesn’t use your in-game gold does it?
No, it is just a way to track your investments if you are interested in playing the TP.
Here are some interesting screen caps from GW2E regarding account gold. The last image is an extension of the second one. It scrolls right so I could not screen cap it all in one.

For LS3 Please add more mastery point options
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: JustTrogdor.7892
It’s inevitable that more mastery points will have to be added if more masteries are added (and I hope they are). They will undoubtably be scattered across adventures, achievements and open world commune points as they are now. So if you’re only going for a few masteries, I expect you’ll be able to get points from content you like and not, say, adventures. But if you expect to get all masteries (I’ll be working towards that) then you’ll probably have to do all kinds of content.
EDIT: At least, I hope the masteries points that come with LS3 aren’t all locked behind story achievements. Those are by far the most work for the smallest reward.
I doubt there will be more mastery added to LS3. I think those will come with the next expansion but I could be very wrong. I agree with mastery points locked behind LS2 achievements and those darn arcade game “adventures” in HoT.
That’s a great idea…I think? I wasn’t around prior to HoT, so I don’t know how the LS content was received. But the implication is that players who might not find HoT palatable would likely jump at the chance to bypass jungle MPs in favor of picking them up in the LS instead. Correct?
Correct, but I imagine if they add more mastery point options in LS3 there would be some, if you want HoT mastery points, that would still require doing so in HoT maps. I’m just hoping they will add some more options with LS3. I also hope LS3 has some more options for Central Tyria MPs.
Also I think in the future some of the more difficult MP tasks should reward more than one mastery point. For example, I spent a total of about 6 hours doing that kitten lost golden badge mega jump puzzle in silver wastes for one darn mastery point. At the same time, I took 5 minutes and got an equal mastery point for killing the Karka Queen.
As I said before, for those already maxed out on MPs perhaps Anet can provide incentive to do the proposed new LS3 mastery points by allowing them to earn a weapon skin, armor skin, or some special mini for completing them. It seems like a win win for everyone.

I think a paper airplane glider would be cool. I imagine it as a large paper airplane in the middle with smaller ones streaming off the sides. That way it would look like a flight of planes in formation. Bonus if they have dye channels.

I hope when LS3 arrives Anet offers more options to gain mastery points for both HoT and Central Tyria. I think it would be a good way for people that have struggled with some of the mastery points currently available to have more options. For those that don’t need more options perhaps there could be some other reward available if they are maxed out and earn them. Just a thought.
It only uses your API key…
I guess that’s the part that gives me pause – I take it there’s no way this key can be used to ‘hack’ your account?
The API key is provided by Anet. You can rest assured that there is no way to use the API to hack your account. It does not expose your user name or password. Although if you register an account with GW2E I’d suggest you use an email and password separate from your GW2 account, but that is just standard account security anyway.
Read more here.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
Never had a problem and it is a very useful site. It only uses your API key if you so choose and that just makes certain things about your account readable. There is no way anything about your account could be altered through it.

I suggest you start with checking out the wiki. There is a lot of good basic info there.
How can I play the original Guildwars 2?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: JustTrogdor.7892
Upon character creation the core game personal story should be selected by default. If it is not for some reason you can select it in the story panel of your hero screen. Season 1 updates of the core game were temporary and are no longer available. Season 2 updates can be purchased from the gem store for those that missed it when it was live. Everything else core game related (map exploration and dynamic events, dungeons, fractals, etc.) can be done simply by going to the core game maps.

Sorry to drag this one back. If I cannot access my email is there any other way of communicating with support?
You can submit a ticket using an alternate email address that you do have access to.
See advice in this thread.

This bug happens from time to time. Try logging out of GW2 then into GW1. Then log out of GW1 and back into GW2. This has worked for some int the past. Also some have reported changing characters might fix the problem as well.

Case in point:
Mike O’Brian On Legendary Weapons
Last year we talked about plans to gradually build out a second set of legendary weapons through live content updates. That’s a big responsibility. We have a team of six developers working on that, who could work on it for years to come.
Of course that quote was made in March 2016 well after HoT went live and was sold to customers. I noticed you underlined the part where MO said it could be years. I don’t recall Anet ever stating such a thing when HoT went on sale. It would be one thing if they had stated the new legendarys would take years to develop up front but they didn’t. This was only stated a few months ago when they decided to shelf them.
Here is what Anet stated about new legendary in October 2015 before HoT launched.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/hot-new-legendary-weapons/
It takes a lot of work to craft these legendary journeys for release, so rather than take the time to develop the full set before releasing any of them, we will be releasing new legendary weapons in small groups at regular intervals until the full set of sixteen has been added to the game
I don’t know about most people but I don’t consider canceling the new legendarys until some date that is still to be determined or may never happen at all a regular interval. Unless of course by regular interval Anet meant something like 1 legendary a year.

I will fill out a support request then. I want to be able to set my client to jump without gliding. If you are reading this thread. Fill out a request. If enough people ask for it, ANET might get the message.
Support tickets are for customers experiencing problems with their account or technical issues. They are not intended for game design suggestions. Customer support does not deal with such requests. All you will be doing is slowing down customer support responses for people with actual account or technical problems. In fact they will probably just tell you to post your suggestion on the forum. However, this topic has been discussed many times on the forum already and I’m almost certain Anet is aware that many people want a way to disable gliding when jumping.
Here are a few threads in the main forums related to the topic.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Can-We-Disable-Gliders
There are more but I’m too lazy to go through all of them via Google.

I ran into this confusion trying to get a mastery point the other day. How I believe it works, and I could be mistaken, is that certain levels of the personal story give a mastery point. Like the level 20 personal story for example. So if you have done the level 20 personal story on a human and then go and do it on a Norn you won’t get another mastery point. Like in my case, I completed the entire personal story with a human character. So if I do the personal story on a Norn I will not get any more mastery points for doing personal story.
You can still obtain other mastery points from other parts of Tyria, just not from personal story arcs.

You have to factor in the old monthly as well. They count toward the cap.
Not getting 10 points on daily completion

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Daily
There is a cap of 15,000 for daily and now-defunct monthly achievements combined. Once the cap is reached, additional points from the “Daily Completionist” meta achievement will no longer increase the account’s achievement points, but individual reward bonus chests will still be given out.
Try logging out of GW2, logging into GW1 and then out again, and then going back to GW2. These seems to work for some people.
So… I sent Guild Wars 2 Support a direct E-mail regarding the issue(s) my OP talks about. It has almost been 4 days now, and no response from your Support Team (your Support Team is usually a lot better than this). My case # is: 2207234.
If it has been over 3-4 days (support has been a bit behind recently) since you submitted your ticket you need to post in tickets for review sticky thread located at the top of the account/support forum. This forum is unlikely to receive the attention you request regarding your ticket.
Another suggestion I have is to make it so pets, minions, and any other entities summoned by players, do not give any EXP or loot unless the player actually attacks what the pet/minion/entity attacked, meaning you only get stuff if you actually attack something yourself. This way if you’re AFK you’ll get absolutely nothing by having only your pet do all the work.
This would anger just about every PvE Ranger and Necro in the game. Say a Ranger approaches a group of 3 mobs, puts their pet on one of the mobs while they attack the other two. They are actively playing, using their profession mechanics as intended. However, because of your suggestion the Ranger only gets XP and loot for the two mobs they kill while the pet kills the third. Like some of the other examples where people suggest turn off auto loot in PvE this would be punishing players for playing as the game was intended just to solve the problem caused by the few that abuse the mechanic. Nope, not going to work.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
There seems to be some ongoing problems with this. See the sticky thread and other threads in the PvP forum related to the issue. It could be something they are working to fix.
This isn’t that difficult to figure out and I think many people are just arguing for the sake of arguing. People are throwing in all these “what ifs” just to argue more. It is really very simple.
If you do not want to risk getting suspended/banned then:
- Don’t take your Ranger/Necro to an area where mobs spawn and then go do something AFK for an extended period of time. For example don’t go make dinner, go watch a movie, go to bed, go shopping, go to work etc. In this example it is pretty clear that the intention is for extended AFK farming. When you set it up this way you know what you are doing and planned it based on what some perceive as a grey area of the rules. If you do this and get suspended then you have no one else to blame but yourself.
If you need to take a quick phone call, use the restroom, answer the door, go smoke a cigarette, make a cup of coffee or other brief AFK reason you will be fine. Trust me I have been doing those things for years in GW2 with no problem. I’ve been doing those things recently during this whole debate with no problem. It all seems pretty clear and simple to me.

I’ve seen this happen from time to time and it seems to affect several people as there are many older threads about this. It appears it is generally something Anet has to catch and fix from what I have seen in the past. You are not alone. There is a sticky thread about the issue in the PvP forum where players are currently reporting the same thing. Maybe post in that thread as well so if Anet sees it they can look into your issue.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Help-I-m-stuck-in-a-PvP-Match/page/10
There is also a current thread in the bug form about this.

And another merged thread on the issue in PvP forum also with new reports of this problem.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/64-BIT-CLIENT-FAQ
My computer satisfies the requirements for automatic switching to the 64-bit client, but I want to remain on the 32-bit client.
If you want to remain on the 32-bit client, you may add -32 to the command line used to launch the game client. Please refer to the wiki for instructions on how to modify your command line.
The fix to this problem is so obvious, but seems no one wants to talk about it.
No loot if a pet kills a monster.
Only loot if the player kills the monster, as measured by the DPS done to the monster by the player, compared to the dps done by the pets.
I wonder why no one will think this is a good idea?
So if I am playing a Ranger and attack two mobs in a group. I have my pet on one mob and I’m attacking the other, when my pet gets the kill I shouldn’t get loot even though I’m actively playing and using my professions mechanics to attack both mobs? Yeah, I can’t see that being a very popular solution.
+1 for an option that allows normal hide bags view like it was. That way the people that like the new way have it and people like me that don’t can have the old way.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
I think for a lot of people around here end game is the forum. I think some of them are even in a forum guild. Just look at many complaint threads, even if they are constructive and well worded and watch for the OP to get zerged.
Yeah, Rev took a big PvE hit with that 75% increase in energy cost to Phase Travel. They didn’t even decrease the cool down. That is a pretty big nerf IMO.
You don’t get a another one. It is a one time deal.
^ According to the story he leveled to 60 in normal PvE fashion then his guild helped him craft level the last 20. Apparently it was done in 32 hours during headstart. I wonder if he still plays.
MO’s reddit post about it.
But yeah craft leveling was a thing before tomes. I leveled two alts that way.

ArenaNet will be taking my money anyway, no matter what, when the next expansion comes out.
Let’s face it, they’ll be taking most of yours too, even if you deny it now.
They will have to earn my money with the next expansion. I seriously doubt I will pre-purchase the next expansion like I did HoT after my disappointment with it. I threw money at them once and won’t do it again. Anet will have to show me a lot more if they want to earn my money for the next expansion. Even then I’ll probably wait a month or so after release to read up on player feedback.
Your son can play PvE and PvP with you as long as he is on a server in the same region, NA/EU. Due to mega servers, WvW is the only thing affected by what server you are on. Server population is now calculated based on WvW population. TC is currently showing full and I think it has been for a long time and probably will stay that way for some time.
It’s the WvW buff
Thank you. I didn’t even know that was a thing after all this time.
Maybe I am just losing my mind or I am missing something here. Yesterday my health was just over 20,000 (like 20,035 or something I don’t recall exactly). No food buffs or any other buffs of any kind. Today I logged in and my health is now 19,229. I didn’t change anything with my build, no equipment changes or anything at all. The same exact way it was when I logged off yesterday. All armor and weapons are in full repair.
Am I missing something here? Is it a bug?
Also my health in the hero panel is always showing green as if there is some buff or modifier, even with everything unequipped and no buffs. Is this normal?
Thanks.

If you have not already, maybe you should also post the poll in GW2 reddit. It would increase the sample size.
It does not matter a whole lot as support will sort it out but for the first drop down menu I would suggest “In game issue”.
You can submit a support ticket with any evidence you have. The support link is at the top of the page.
The last time it was in the gem store was February.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-February-23-2016
Belinda’s Greatsword Skin has returned to the Gem Store for a limited time. It’s available for purchase in the Style category for 600 gems.
Anet does not usually announce the return of gem store items in advance. There does not seem to be any set schedule for most items. The best thing you can do is keep an eye on the gem store because that is what Anet wants people to do.
Greeting, I recently came back to Guild wars 2 and I want to have one Toon just to farm for materials. Nevertheless, I have a set of gathering tools that are souldbound to my main and I saw a video long time ago that there was an NPC that can changed them to account bound. Can anyone tell me if the NPC has been removed or where I can find it?
You have to talk to the Black Lion Weapons Specialist . Put the tools in your bags and you should see the option to convert to account bound when you talk to them.
(edited by JustTrogdor.7892)
Well, I don’t know if you played the game when repairing had a cost.
They did an election where one of the candidates offered to nullify the repair cost to the ppl that where fighting for Tyria.
She won, and she honored her word as a polititian, hence she removed the cost of repair.
Sooo I do get you, but lore wise you must understand that it is free to the players that are basically the army, but the NPC that are not part of the army don’t get their armor fixed for free.
So yeah, it is not free, Tyrian government is basically paying for it.
Actually it was Evon that removed the repair cost after losing the election.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/say-goodbye-to-armor-repair-costs-and-hello-to-free-trait-resets/
Ellen’s campaign during the election was for a 4 week reduction in WP fees.
This probably goes into the forum is broken, Anet no longer works with the contractor that made it and do not have the resources to fix it themselves file. Meaning unless that is already an option coded into the forum there is probably nothing Anet can do to fulfill your request.
I enjoy it. It is a nice change of pace when I don’t feel like putting in much effort into what I am doing.
Fair enough. It’s a Zen thing; I don’t think you literally enjoy pressing F
. I still think any material price crashing is a good thing.
As opposed to the majority of the PvE game pressing 1?
Farming mats is not enjoyable for anyone, and I can’t imagine many people want gold badly enough to keep things like this secret.
I enjoy it. It is a nice change of pace when I don’t feel like putting in much effort into what I am doing. There is a map I run a loop around mining and harvesting wood that nets me about 5-8 gold and takes less than 20 minutes. Unlike the WP video no WPing and loading screens. I just run around the outside of the map and harvest until I get back where I started. Go to TP, profit.
Maybe you reached the cap on daily achievement points?
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Daily
There is a cap of 15,000 for daily and now-defunct monthly achievements combined. Once the cap is reached, additional points from the “Daily Completionist” meta achievement will no longer increase the account’s achievement points, but individual reward bonus chests will still be given out.
You can try a support ticket to see if they will help but that is really your only option.
