Max Lexandre.6279

^^ I Posted about it first, yet i was merged, such madness! ^^

This was so needed, PvE it’s going to live again!

I have no more words, this is one mega change for the better! As a PvE player, this is my favorite feature that is coming on the 15th.

hypes!

One some things ANet needs to get right is:
- Guilds. If 2 guild mates from 2 different servers enter the same map, as the system goes, it says they will be put together, if they are playing together, they should contribute influence globally to the guild, same with missions.
If the servers are going Mega-Servers, there is no sense anymore on the guild influence per-server restrictions. ^-^

This is a good change, but it’s one major thing that will cause several concerns to the community, that now, is not anymore X Server Community to… well… EU/US community.

Tyria, dead or alive?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Max Lexandre.6279

Well, Tyria is Half-Dead at this moment, PvE is only full at certain maps to zerg-farm, while Anet doesn’t make PvE at once, equally rewarding on everything, from resource nods to mat drops and event difficulty, things will never be as they should.

World Bosses, hopes on what will change

I don’t think they will revamp another world boss until they develop some friendly, small raid tool to manage overflows or participants. They would killl their own content for casuals and trade it to the small percentage of elitist guilds focused on killing them.

I mostly agree with you, on the server i was, Underworld, we were never able to finish with success Wurm or Teq, i don’t yet the achiv for both. We need a better core system to gather the necessary amount of players, and help them organize spreading around the several objectives.

Thank you for altering your title to more appropriately reflect your thread contents.

Regarding your suggestion, I like the idea of boss portals taking you to an instance to engage the boss (but not for all zone boss events). The Thaumanova Reactor has a boss event such as this that can be activated by opening a portal to engage a Displaced Steam Ogre (by using an infused Matrix Cube Key on the console in the shielded area of the central chamber).

This would also allow for a more appropriate level of scaling for the event based on how many port in to engage the boss. As it is now, players can engage most (if not all) zone bosses for a few shots and then run off to the sidelines out of harms way and still receive their rewards after the boss goes down. These players are no longer contributing to the fight against the boss and the boss is still scaled to include them. If everyone who ports in to the boss through the boss portal has a limited area of movement to where they cannot run off to a safe area (personal story boundaries), then the event can maintain its proper scaling due to non-participating players being removed from the instance.

Yes, i think first the best way to make them work, then revamp the other world bosses, gathering all people inside one instance, where they can’t be there just standing going the easy ways waiting to others to do the dirty job, it’s nothing that hard to achieve, all this systems are part of the game, the instanced bosses with limits and portals.

But it is already stated that they change things about the world bosses with this feature patch.

They did state that? Where?

In a German inteview! They asked about plans to change the organizations of such world bosses and the community manager hinted at the last 3 blog posts!

Yes that’s where this thread comes from, as changes are coming to World Bosses on a confirmed way, only to know if it’s just minor tweaks, or really new and better ways to participate on this major events.

Agree-100% —I hate when posters mislead with purposely false headings Hopefully the OP or mods follows your suggestion. (I tried to report, but someone already has).

Intentionally masking a personal suggestion with a thread title that misleads and tricks players into clicking on your thread to boost its viewcount with a statement of fact that is not, is very shady and causes me to not even read your suggestion out of principle.

I request that you or a mod edit the thread title to remove the “incoming!” and add “[Suggestion]” to the beginning.

I did not make the title as i wanted, the evil thing limited the length so i have i put something simple, i’m sorry i got your inner rage/hating device active about that. The “incoming” part comes from the already confirmed incoming changes to this system.

Anyway just managed to edit to a better title.

World Bosses, hopes on what will change

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Max Lexandre.6279

Max Lexandre.6279

Heya there.

So, nobody knows what will come, only that they will change them. As we know there is a lot of trouble with things when world bosses are just… empty, and when they are not, the maps get into overflow and we can’t enter in time because 2 guilds doing Teq/Worm is enough to overflow everybody else these days.

I am hoping for a system that will do it like Scarlet Boss event did:
- Instead of the world boss in the middle of the PvE map, add portals to the boss, like Scarlet, those portals open instances with X limited number of people and it opens instances as it is needed.
- To make this possible they would need to use our Story Mode instance limits, where if you leave the Boss area, you’re kicked back to normal PvE.
- This will make possible what ANet wanted, that is, world bosses were made to groups of 15-25 people (expect teq/wurm).

Profit: There would not be needed the evil scale, or problems with bosses being defeated to fast, as the instances have their own limits and difficulty pre-set, also deleting the problems of bosses empty with one system to easy-join world-bosses.

I really believe world bosses can be fun again without zerg-lag-farm trains
What do you think?

Speculation facilitating friendly play

Max Lexandre.6279

Oups i quite didn’t saw this thread first, well, here it goes the ones i hope and agree with:

I believe i will be disappointed but… My hopes are:
- Balance how rewarding play on all maps is at once, Resource Nods, Mat drops, mob difficulty, events XP/KARMA/GOLD reward, at this moment lvl 80 maps are the only ones where our time is better spent.
- Fix issues with Parties and Overflows, stop breaking parties apart!
- Fix the Issues with Zerg-Lag-Farm Trains on PvE Maps, it’s just madness, it’s by far friendly play, it’s laggy, it’s a war to try to hit the max mobs we can for the max loot, this game was never meant to this to happen, make it stop!
- Fix the Issues with Party Kickers at Dungeons / Fractals, they keep trying to sell spots for gold, make it easier to report the party owner that just kicked us.
- Larger Parties, why not?
- Always wanted to easily find all Guild Members on the map i am on.
- Make World Bosses take longer to kill, some of them are scale absurdly, others die so fast no speed boost help us reach them in time.
- As others suggested, world bosses as Teqqual and Wurm should be added to the LFG.
- More love to Guilds, they need some love. Major feature would be Guild Commanders that, only guild members can see the tag.
- Other Guild Feature, guild leader can mass mail all its members.

Rewarding Adventure in the Open World

Another thing: Spread all resource nods towards all maps, to balance the rewards on all maps and be possible to find all tiers on them, what is right now only possible on lvl 80 maps.

If there is already level requirements depending of the resource tier, i don’t see the reason to don’t spread them to make our exploration rewarding on all maps.

Another thing is the mats mobs drop at lower level maps, that are again, not rewarding as the normal 80lvl-farm maps, it should be possible to find a way to make them drop their mats depending of our level and not their levels.

If difficulty is better adapted on all maps to be equally difficult as one lvl 80 map, it should be rewarding like one as well.

Personally, I don’t care about town clothes either way the update seems fine with me though.

As for which group is bigger the angry ones or the ones happy with the change, from what I have seen in the forums, looks like the happy ones are in the majority.

Now, as for which group is Louder, that is a different story.

The only complicated change till now is the clothes system, everything else there is no reasons to be angry with the changes. The fact the majority of the players do not use/purchased clothes don’t have to mean the feedback from the ones who did should be considered the minority that is actually the majority that like, spent money and use Town Clothes.

Saying that don’t listen to ALL feedback is not the same thing as saying they don’t listen to ANY feedback.

Not all feedback is good feedback. And not every fan knows the thought process behind every decision.

Sure, there are a percentage of people who don’t like this. There were also a percentage of people who didn’t want to have to wear town clothes only in cities.

I wonder which group of players is bigger.

You didn’t had to, never did happen with me, isn’t that one option?
This specific change will kill Roleplayers, as i am in one guild of such and we make huge use of the clothing system, no one on there is a “byte” happy about this, it will destroy the way our social guild works, our roleplay-movies we create, everything.

For some it’s a little change that doesn’t makes a difference, for others it forces them to play differently.

There is feedback on this community since day-1 launch of GW2 people ask for, on this feature patch we actually see things that should have been launched with the game on the first place. Yet there are things as the armor repairs costs ending and events nerf that actually puzzled some of us as they seem blog posts just to fill up space O.o

Still, after they announced the changes, we clearly notice no matter the feedback they get they will not change what they are going to do, it’s like, “we listen to your feedback but don’t think it will change anything.

Really people, i have been noticing specially on this patch, there are changes like the Town Clothes with tsunamis of negative feedback as no-one (who actually spent gems on such and made their visuals / roleplayers / social guilds) wants the solution they give us.

Yet on apologies after apologies on posts from ANet on such thread, they never, ever, accept any different solution than what they had in mind on the first place.

I saw this happening on several other things community said a clear No but ANet said a clear Yes, what means our feedback is useless, they will implement this changes we like or not.

Why not, discuss this changes with the community before announce them as they just did?

That’s why most of the game community doesn’t post on the forums, they have their opinion on this things but, provide feedback seems a waste of time.

Max Lexandre.6279

When i saw the hype about this blog posts, i was hyped because “finally, maybe it’s this time PvE will get changes to help fix the many issues we face right now”.

Oh lord, we were wrong.

When i saw the “No More Repair Costs” i did not understood, i mean:
- They remove the punishment to players when they die.
- Yet they still punish their players with Mad Waypoint costs when we try to help our friends/guildies with their new chars/stories/quests/events….

One minor but major change they could make is a 50% discount waypoint cost to areas we already 100%, so we do not need to think twice when a friend is asking for help in a area where it’s costing up to 4 silver to travel to.

Maybe, on the last posts of friendly play we can see some light at the end of the tunnel.

I would have thought more would have turned out to voice there opinion about this change. Maybe most players don’t bother to read the update news? Guess we will find out when the patch is released. Considering how many players there are, 700+ comments seems low by comparison, to me anyway.

But I think what you are forgetting is that for every person that takes the time to come to the forums and post, there are XX times as many people that either:
1) not yet taken the time to read the blog post or may not regularly visit the webpage (even though the link is in the log in screen, some folks can’t be bothered. * I know that a number of my guild mates had no clue about these changes until I directed them to the website.
2) Feel that there is no point in taking time to post, as this is a corporate decision that is already been made and posting will have little to no effect. These folks will ‘vote with their wallet’ and simply stop or limit their purchasing from the store here on out

Don’t mistake silence for compliance, acceptance, or apathy.
I was once told that if one person takes the time to write a complaint = 100 people who are of the same mindset but don’t for a variety of reasons.

I agree that most people feel even if they hate what is going to happen, there is no point into post on the forums about it, as there is no chance to their feedback do any impact on ArenaNet’s decision.

If you refer to group events, yes, they are mostly empty on all game with exception of the areas where farm zergs usually go. As some did it before that did grow to levels of only the X events are always done, everything else is skipped as they want max profit with little effort.

Personally, i did wish Devs fight against this zerg-lag-farm trains on PvE and force people to spread around with parties instead of allow this major groups of people fighting for give some hits to the mobs to get loot, it’s the thing that damages more what ArenaNet calls “friendly play”.

Yet i am to see on those friendly play blog posts if they will address the PvE Issues, the problem with huge zerg-lag-farm-trains and finally go and get rewards and difficulty balanced on all the maps, because at this moment for several things from resource nods to monster drops, we can’t get what we get on 80 maps on any other place.

If they manage to balance those it will get finally motives to explore PvE more, to don’t worry about what happens now “i can make my time worth more on 80s maps”.

Sorry about the mix-and-match. Converting things to be armor and combat compatible did come with some trade-offs.

Excuse me one second but, there are no technology hurdles to this. It’s simply a matter of time and effort. Which should still be able to be completed. Heck, the player base could accomplish it ourselves it we had access under the hood.

No. You couldn’t. You’d just break something else and let loose an entirely different angry horde. But eff them. You got what YOU wanted, right?

Stop pretending you could do their jobs better than they can. You can’t.

At a point just saying it’s not impossible because it isn’t. It really requires the design team to get into this and do the conversion to make awesome things happen, even if it requires to visually affect the clothes, it’s better than the alternate solution.

In a very simple post, i would like our designers to put a little effort into the Outfits as Mad King, etc… and convert them into normal armor skins, normally this skins are almost the complete armor set so they would need some tweaks (specially at the legs part) to make it happen.

I Believe mixing this amazing pieces of clothes, gave us much fun, such, would be amazing if possible with armors.

Post your best clothes combinations that will now be turned into one outfit!
Appeal to the Designers Hearts.

I love to use my Wintersday town clothes on my human male, but I really hate how the hat looks on him. I much prefer the coolio aviator sunglasses that he is currently wearing.
I would be very disappointed if he always had to wear that hat. x_x

I do like the Mad King’s outfit on my Norn, but I would also like to show his face while wearing it. I would also be very disappointed if he had to wear the pumpkin head all the time. :/

A little added note here, Outfits will still respect the ‘hide helm’ toggle so you can absolutely wear Wintersday or Mad King outfit without the hat or pumpkin.

Is there not any chance to appeal to the Game Designers hearts to make the OutFits part of the armors, as at least mines (mad king, witch), are already mostly like the normal armors (and they mix correctly with others)?

Town clothes should be all converted into Skins, yet, they decided to go with a complex system, outfits are unfair, they could with some effort convert them into all pieces to get it right
