The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
Danicia <3 you made it red too!
I’m “that guy”
HAHA! Why did you put this post in this thread? Its worthy enough of its own thread with that title.
Thief isnt ideal zerg material HOWEVER…
Is a profession that a lot of roamers and solo roamers use. Want to bring QQ to the forums? Thief is the answer with the current meta being a D/P build:

Well, the other thing is that most people didn’t like Trahaerne, so why bring him back?
Because it makes sense and it would add credibility to the story.
Sure, but like Becka said. The catch phrase for those of you that dont know was “Its Trahaerne’s story” just like “Scarlett did it”.
ANet need to think carefully about Trahaerne’s future inclusion or risk a community backlash like we’ve seen previously.
I STILL HAVE MY SUPPORT BADGES!
To an extent I see what the OP is implying, I guess what my only real take is that its expected.
GW2 is staying a mainstream game and attempts to appeal to mainstream players. To do that it has to (to an extent) try to cater to everyone.
If they had an event that was wrapped up in a bunch of secrets you would get something akin to the following:
- Lore experts complaining it came out of nowhere, how it didn’t build up and accordingly is game breaking.
- PvP players would complain that they expected something for PvP but didn’t get it and that shows PvP is the most neglected part of the game.
- WvW players would complain that they expected something for WvW but didn’t get it and that shows WvW is the most neglected part of the game.
- Then a bunch of intricate PvE posts like “I was expecting it to be something like this but it wasn’t, they wasted my time etc etc.”
By making a story interesting but ultimately predictable (to an extent) you keep the masses happy.
They will have a few surprises but we all now know at least the context of what is about to happen next. That is safest for ANet.
If you’re on another server it should just say “wvw”.
I think thats fair.
I did think that if you friend someone there is some wiggle room to say they should know where you are to, not only guild mates. But maybe the above is more appropriate.

In my observations the political climate has switched.
That is to say that PvP and the esports phenomena received considerable support at realease. New maps, regular updates etc. Concurrently WvW for the first year of its life had orbs REMOVED and received Break Out events, thats it -.-
Now the writing is on the wall as it were and things have gone quiet for PvP while WvW receives more attention.
I tend to do PvP for dailies I dont mind PvP but its never been a selling point for me and have days where doing PvP is something im happy to skip.
Zerging, roaming, GvG etc. I enjoy my time more in WvW.
The Queens Gauntlet was probably the only added content where I REALLY had to think about what my toons could do and how to use them effectively. It’s the only content they added that was particularly memorable to me.
Most other things I’ve participate in I’ll solo it or it’s such a whitewash group/team event it doesn’t really matter if my individual performance is any good.
WvW is the only content I repeatedly enjoy and it’s because other players make it challenging.
Is there no trait retrainer in EotM?
At release thieves didn’t need stealth, rendering took care of that issue. Invisi rendering spam 2 thieves, anyone remember those days?
You’d be in the wilderness and suddenly WTF happened to my health!!?? During those times you couldn’t see at all so I always had my effects turned up and ANYTIME I heard a thief stealth skill go off or heard a d/d skill 2 fire I would dodge and spin around for action. Sometimes seeing it was one of my allies that had performed the action -.-
Things have actually gotten better since then.

We all know JQ was the first ever super stacked server in gw2. It was the bandwagon post free transfers. JQ still holds the record of 15 consecutive wins.
Which following your logic in the paragraph below means a lot of PvX players went to JQ, which is true.
I agree, BG is stacked, but not with wvw guilds. It’s mostly PVE/PVX people who transferred here for easy wins and the wvw bonuses towards the end of the week.
Any significant kind of PvX transfer to BG has happened after seasons which is only recent. Prior to that BG has received WvW focused guilds from many servers, Kaineng, SBI, SoS etc its a long list.
Many experienced WvW players take your statements with a grain of salt, your modus operandi is typically ‘argue an extreme point of view to try and prove others wrong’. But for new people your comments are misleading which is why I bother to comment.
1) I don’t participate in the CPI process much. Not because I don’t want to but because the whole process seems overwhelming to.
Certain people love their walls of text and trying to read back and review whats been said by the community/devs as well as following a bunch of links all feels very cumbersome and time consuming.
I’d like the CDI process to be easier to follow. Ideas that look to streamline the CDI process is what Id like to see.
Zerg’s will emerge. It’s just more efficient with the capture objectives implementation to have a zerg HOWEVER. The terrain seems much more varied than say the borderlands.
There’s lots of divots, hills, slopes, twists and turns, that help break up the zerg and help people escape the zerg.
My issue with the borderlands is that areas are mainly large long open fields that using anything but invisibility or a large zerg to travel with can get you killed. The ruins on borderlands help break up the zerg and EotM is doing the same.
In means that a well coordinated group can surprise easier and take bigger chunks out of a zerg than in the borderlands.
But the zerg wont be replaced as is.
You should switch to the dungeon community for awhile, they’re always good for a laugh….. probably for the wrong reasons tho. Start with the dungeon forum. Which reminds me….
WTH DO WE NOT HAVE A ‘FUNNIEST PLAYER FAILS THREAD’!!??
If you have the right profession/build your laughing. If you don’t you probably wont laugh much.
Other maps have particular NPC and mechanics that play out but don’t feel like they intrude the way Sky Hammer does.
Why not take something from the best MMO of all time, GW1.
Being a GW1 vet I’m not against this either. The fact that were a year+ into GW2 and still playing conquest mode is disappointing.
I heard a lot about Huttball when SWTOR was released, amongst all the negatives. The fact that people are again talking about it in this thread makes me curious about a GW2 variation. I’d like to see it.
Do you have a profession you enjoy slapping around when you are in a PvP match. You know, the profession that, for whatever reason irritates/annoys you enough that tend to focus them more than others?
Mine would be thief. It has its roots in the fact that i played a lot of WvW at release and the rendering issues coupled with the 2 spammers did it for me.
Now when I hotjoin i tend to pick the team that has the most enemy thiefs to face off against. Their cries are most righteous.
Reminds me of the SAB infinite continue coin.
Next thing you know people’ll be complaining about the laurel vendor daily.
LOL! I remember (many months ago now) someone complaining about having to craft 10 things for dailies. It was obvious they had never crafted in their life.
Ignorance is bliss?
potential and possibility
Sure and understanding the rudimentary nature of people is important too. ‘Path of least resistance’ comes to mind, there’s nothing ‘equal’ in this process.
What the OP hasn’t made clear is that the Desolation world first while obviously being a great feat was due in part because of the servers larger numbers and in turn the systemic nature of that.
That is people from lower population servers would join higher pop. servers to up their own chances of success. Which is getting back to the OP point, lower pop. servers never really did have a chance.
At least ANet is realising this to an extent. They gave BG their own official GW2 post offering them congratulations for Tequatl, without fully understanding it was a server made up of many elements that had nothing to do with BG itself.
They should be highlighting the success of guilds involved, individual commanders involved. Perhaps an interview style with people that were on ts3 coordinating things, that highlights how the community came together. Rather than simplifying it and saying ‘Congrats server’.
So what did you think of this patch?
I wish they had included this level of depth to other LS. It really consolidated a lot of information and you even developed greater empathy for a lot of these characters.
Is he attacking crabs? Maybe hes hungry.
Thought this should be included too :

That’s a shame tho isnt it?
That is to say the only way to maintain ones interest in WvW is to move. Concurrently it feeds into the whole ‘stacking’ concept.
I guess I’m just commenting on it being a shame that its come to this.
IMO players should be able to get precursor by completing a difficult and lengthy, weapon specific quest chain
Yes, it is the way it should have happened.
Currently there is NOTHING legendary about legendary weapons. Legendary TP flipping maybe or super grinder……….
But you know why it happened the way it did. ANet made SO much rl money from legendary/precursor weapons, by making precursors obtained in such stupid ways (RNG really?) that I have no doubt people simply bypassed the process and just bought them with rl money.
LOL /15Quaggans
I sell anything I don’t need right now.
Owwww you must be kicking yourself about the silk scraps!
I find it hard to believe the forge or anything in the game for that matter is 100% random.
It’s taken them the longest time to try and get sigils, runes, etc etc to work as intended but RNG is working properly? lol, Waldir is right.
I’m not filled with confidence that he’s the best guy for the job when it comes to WvW on the whole.
If you’d seen Sacrx’s NDA leak and been given insight into the relations between the PvP and WvW teams you’d have even less confidence.
@hades, you could edit the topic instead of post multiple times
It wouldn’t have been as funny if he edited it…
anet doesn’t care as long as Blackgate can do it, the rest of the servers can suck it and quit qqing.
haha!
If you are roaming and don’t know how to fight vs stealth, you’re going to have a bad time.
It’s more than that tho isn’kitten
When your traited into a team build that syncs perfectly with your group you wont have the traits to compete in a 1v1.
And in my experience its a 1v1 if your lucky. Usually roamers group up in small groups.
Cough Sticky Cough
BTW, ANet do have a history of replacing deleted items. You should make inquiries with support as to why they won’t make an exception this time:

Colin mailed me Dusk because I took him out to lunch on the weekend.
Lucky guy.
In Addition:
Cosmetic Wardrobe:
GW2 was encouraged as a cosmetic progressive game and yet you are stuck to transmuting everything once or carrying a bunch of the same weapons/armour if you want to swap looks occasionally.
Adding some kind of cosmetic wardrobe to the game would be a benefit too. Where you easily store and retrieve items specifically. Rather than them simply hanging in your inventory bag or bank cluttering things up.
-Cough- Personal Guild -Cough-
Monthly completion is relatively easy, I usually get it done in under a week. If weeklies are done in a similar vein I’d be excited at the prospect.
The only negative I can see is from the AP hunters or completionists who don’t want a further checklist of things to do.
But as Fluffball said you should consciously make a choice to let it go if it creates stress for you.
Creature comforts, to an extent I’m being liberal with my use of this term, the context here being relative to things that make life in GW2 a little more convenient and easy or simply just nicer!
This is not a HAS TO HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY post. But the the process by which we go about doing some things makes one let out an inconvenient sigh as you perform the task or actions required or even the process that your involved in at that time.
However I had made a post similar to this nearly 6 months ago unfortunately none of the recommendations previously listed have come to light.
To be more specific I’ll list some things. I’m looking for people to add their own ideas and perhaps comment on how much you desire these or other creature comforts ingame.
Save/Swap traits:
Having to zone to LA (or where ever), pay money and then rebuild ones traits over and over. People should be able to save builds and swap them relatively easily (even at cost).
Guild Halls:
A place to meet and greet guildies before events/activites, easily accessible merchants etc there (so you don’t clog up WvW queues).
Commander pin:
It’s a blue taco you follow, that’s all. Needs to be more useful when leading the map in WvW and you need to be able to set up private pins for guildies only. It needs to do A LOT more than what it currently does.
Waypoint:
Map>Hearts of the Mists>LA>etc.
It feels like a small grind with load screens and wait times. Make all major cities free to travel to, its the same thing, just without the load screens.
Weapon Swap:
Keep current weapon swap system ‘IN’ combat but have multiple weapon sets that you are free to swap to ‘OUT’ of combat. Engineers and ele’s too. Opening inventory and manual clicking things is not ideal.
Home Instances:
I slide this in here too, I just expected it to be far more personalised than what it currently is.
Trading Post:
Better filtering system (light, medium, heavy etc).
To reiterate i like the new content we receive, however I am starting to desire the above mentioned things more than the latest shiny.
Kargath and Kahrgan are best friends, they both convinced each other that orbs were better. Now they’re upset.
Afk?…. He was just grabbing a beer :/
ESO ships at 14/4/4. So to me its very obvious when the next WvW patch will go live. Dont expect anything until end of march.
lol but true, I expect a big carrot.
The only satisfaction we had was the two or three BG that alt+F4’d when our 5 man group caught them too far away from a tower/keep.
:)
The official response is ‘soon’.
I love finding random and dynamic fights. I love the variability.
^ This.
I love hitting the crest of a hill, coming out the other side of a tunnel or turning that corner and being unsure of what exactly is waiting for you on the other side.
No other aspect of the game can do that.
You know whats around that corner. Every time.
