Keep losing connection when changing areas

Been losing connection to the client when I change areas(going to a different map/going to pvp, etc.) Check with a guild mate and they’re having the same issues. Restarting the client seems to fixes it but it keeps happening every few minutes. My internet connection is fine.

Anyone else having the same issue?

Many of us are reporting not being able to login.

We’ve told them in twitter.

We’ve told them in ‘downdetector’.

We’ve told them in facebook.

The website wasn’t even available for over 30 minutes.

The networking end of GW2 is really in heinous shape. And that’s not even counting the massive DDOS going on nationwide right now, today.

I’ve attached two pictures but they aren’t showing here in Chrome and they aren’t showing in IE when I open another browser. addendum * It took OVER five minutes for the website to post the pictures and any editing*

The website and its structure need help as much as the game does.

This has been resolved.

No, it wasn’t. We were disconnected all night long.

Some of us were in large groups and we were disconnected all night long.

Most guilds gave up after being disconnected.

WvW is suffering and Anet isn’t telling us from what it is suffering from.

If you’re looking at this forum, you’ll be seeing a lot of posts about how different things are down. Well, it’s not just you. Raids, dungeons, fractals, PvP, guild hall, SAB, basically any instanced area in the game is down. No, it’s not you. My guild and I tested each and every one of these. I’m sure Anet’s aware of this by now, so I’ll end it here. Good luck Anet, hope that it’s nothing too major!

Sorry Gaile, it isn’t about in-game rivalries. It’s about frustration with Anet who has a more direct hand in match-making now through manual glicko adjustments and server linking choices without taking the time to understand the community trends going on with those teams.

I can say with absolute surety that your comment has been echoed across most servers for the past two plus years.

Anet doesn’t seem to want to know the WvW communities.

And as an aside and point that some are still making in many places, are EOTM players counted in any way towards WvW populations? If not, great. But if so, what a horrid skewing can be done by players, some of whom seldom if ever step foot in WvW.

WvW would be well served if two things were true:

1. EOTM has zero impact on WvW population ‘counts’

2. All servers were unlinked and allowed to be themselves again

Covering the Emergency Waypoint

Not sure what the problem is here. Just learn to manually click it instead. I’ve been able to succeed most first tries.

One can’t ‘manually click’ anything ‘under’ dozens of different materials to get to the intended thing, whether it be a tacitvator or before this, supply.

Apparently you haven’t see a completely covered and inaccessible emergency waypoint or tactivator that inevitably lost you not one but every single keep, tower and camp in WvW.

I have seen it far too many times and it’s not a ‘tactic’ it’s a cowardly thing to do in what is really supposed to be a fair fight (fair, as in lack of hacks and exploits).

Lately, we’ve noticed a a growing number of posts like this:

  • I hear [this world] is dead
  • I don’t like the links between [this world] and [that world]
  • Why does [XX world] get an better link than mine?
  • I hear [this world] pays groups to join

If this keeps up, at some point we’ll start seeing:

  • I don’t like the cut of [that world’s] gib
  • Neener, neener, we won and you all suck
  • Everybody on [that world] has stinky feet

If I’m joking with the last bit, I’m joking with a raised eyebrow, and you guys know I’m at least partially right about what we might expect if folks don’t use a little more reason before posting.

We’ve explained why we have a conservative stance on match-up and world-related threads here but to say it again: they usually don’t serve any purpose and they often turn nasty.

WvW is a competitive setting, and we don’t expect everyone to link arms and skip down the Yellow Brick Road together. On the other hand, we need to keep this sub-forum on an even keel. To that end, please think before posting, and consider if what you’re writing is of value, or if you’re mistakenly taking an in-game rivalry outside the game into a forum designed for more reasonable discussions.

When WvW “tiers” are respected again, if ever, by Anet and the manual glicko additions and subtractions stop, then this type of posting will be few and very far between compared to now.

How can the community make players better?

Allow teamqueue. End of discussion. Then there will form teams, PvP guilds and competitive gameplay on itself.

Team queuing should never have been changed.

Expanded to training maybe but not changed in such a drastic and incomprehensible ‘throw you to the ignorant in your roll of the dice’.

Better yet I have an idea: How about Tourney SOLO, DUO, TRIO, and skip four and FULL TEAM of 5?

The game in all modes is suffering horridly. Four years, six months plus some days and it’s not as fun as it once was and certainly not as well managed as it should be by now.

Eotm has been there for quite awhile and it was a basically a beta test for new things to implement in WvW but now it just sits there and count toward servers populations. If you go in to Eotm all you see is K-trains and that doesn’t sound like beta test to me. SO why not get rid of it?

WvW and EoTM populations are connected STILL?

No wonder the populations are counted WRONGLY.

Anet, you are more abusive than any other MMO past or present.

If true, the game can be fixed to a huge degree by making sure one mode can’t affect the other.

How very evil! Stack EOTM, your server gets a bonus that others can not hope to fight at all?

The next MMO that doesn’t abuse players is going to make a lot of money and gain a lot of players from this game immediately.

attempting to call out individuals by account name for game abuses isnt right, in fact, I believe it is agaisnt anet policy to do so on the forums.

This fact that this is happening to many of us, including me, is proof that the game is full of holes in WvW where scores matters most to the largest number of people.

I get ‘conditioned down’ without a single condition on me – dead and the laughing by the hacker is just proof that Anet is ignoring the worst of offenders by not deleting their characters and banning their IPs for life.

I understand there is a lot of work thats needs to be done in the game such as long loading screens, but theses fast stomps kinda break the game in a sense and I hate it everytime it happens especially when there are certain groups out there exploiting this and using to pin snipe drivers. Its cheating

Anet is going to lose more players faster than any other game when one comes up with fairness in any person versus person platform.

Being downed without a single skill being able to go off isn’t gaming, it’s “God Mode” for some and it’s going to destroy GW2 in the long run.

Do WvW devs listen?

Anet devs might listen, but they sure don’t communicate. And because they don’t communicate, the players don’t think that the devs listen.

We never get into a discussion with a back and forth with Anet devs. Do you ever see more than two red posts in a thread? Even the CDI discussion threads seemed to have minimal red posts.

Take the WvW overhaul. It was announced that there was going to be a WvW overhaul. Months go by and then we hear that the overhaul was scrapped because the project continued to get bigger and bigger.

Look at the scoring change history. We’ve had multiple threads, each many pages, where we’ve argued about 3-2-1, 2-1-1, 1-0-0 and 5-4-3 and it seems that all we hear from Anet is an announcement of “Next weeks match we will be changing the scoring format to x-x-x”. We don’t get a comment that says that the scoring was changed because player participation dropped after they switched. There’s nothing about the participation levels of the first, second or third place servers.

Multiple threads about server population, linking and glicko threads. Most of these threads get closed because they devolve into the dreaded “matchup thread” archive. We’ve had months of guesses what “activity level” meant. We knew that server populations and linkings were odd but there was only the final announcement by Anet that they changed how they calculated population levels. Then there’s all those posts where Anet decides to manually change a server’s glicko score. No explanations, just a statement.

Then there’s skill balance. Was ghost thief nerfed because Anet listened to WvW threads or was it nerfed after a PvE player posted a video soloing a raid? If ghost thief was nerfed because of WvW threads why did it take so long? Either way it’s like Anet doesn’t read WvW threads.

And how’s that discussion with Anet about lag going?

In WvW the Ghost Thieves aren’t gone – so do Devs listen, again, no, because I have been killed by a “Ghost Thief” since that ‘fix’.

Editing is not working at all so I will put another post in.

More proof that the game and website are abused, neglected and just plain mismanaged.

Here is one of many tests that never complete to Anet’s servers.

Even when doing a command line ping, I can get to any website except Anet’s and they refuse to do a thing about this let alone the rest of the game which is in dire shape.

Right now, there’s such a silence from WvW team. Over the past year there has been ideas, suggestions, feedbacks, a lot of random stuff thrown out by the players in the hope WvW could be refined into something they love, and potentially bring new players. (this is a reddit post I made yesterday)

WvW is a big beast, and there’s no simple solution for practically everything because it’s massive, it’s a big scale mode and arguably much harder to balance than PvP or PvE. However, once things are properly in place you will gather a lot of players at once and that will hopefully help the company revenues? WvW-exclusive things?

Aside from all the pros and cons, I just feel… like WvW shouldn’t die. It has much bigger potential than PvE and PvP combined, and see I’m not an avid WvW player but truth has to be said.

Ben, from the fractals team, is a great example of communication. We need more development devs speaking to us. Ben reads through some posts every now and then, at least once a week, and talk to us, and he doesn’t do empty promises but he chats with us occasionally while he’s not too busy, and while he may end up not doing anything based on our feedback (because devs know better what to do with the game anyways) he at least make us feel heard. Ben is a single person in the whole company that does make the community feel at least heard, and he doesn’t have to but he does read and reply at least once in a week.

WvW has been so much abandoned, and I just… I don’t want it to die. Please, do something, anything. This may sound like an emotional post, and perhaps it is from a certain extent, I just don’t know what else can be done. I’m not good with graphics and charts stuff, but I do some strawpolls sometimes to see what picks player attention, though it doesn’t feel as accurate as I’d hope.

The answer is a straight and simple “No”.

I can prove it so much but the DEVS are ignoring the fact that god-like-power-hungry GMs run interferrence and dismiss all who ask valid and pertinent questions as well as dismissing and abusing those who seek help in the customer service ticketing process, which is so broken that it should not even exist to pay people.

Customer service abuses people. That should get the owners attention.

Customer service forces people to do test after test but never say anything except ’it’s your machine’s fault’, which to any computer professional is the most ignorant and abusive thing to do to any user that can be don.

This isn’t customer service, not the forums and not the ticketing, this is corralling you into a space where you have no voice and no worth.

The heinousness of customer service (forums and ticketing) is evidenced in a game that can’t even complete a ping or traceroute and no matter how many times you prove it to those at customer service the tests that prove you aren’t a complete idiot are turned back on you again making sure that the person has no where else to turn when their own network is horridly run and heinously abused.

The evidence that the “Devs” never see a thing wrong with the game is apparent when they abuse it as much as any who purport to be ‘customer service’ or forum managers, manually manipulating scores in WvW making impossible games, instead of fixing their algorithm in WvW or finally and with all due common sense release the links to the servers and let us fall where we may.

The links were an idea by the players, but the *implementation of the links is only a money bonanza for Anet in the short term, but in the long run will cost them players and ultimately their jobs as the game dies from abuse from within *and from hacking which they can’t figure out either.*

An abused game is not where people want to be.

We want a game that is managed as well as it looks and right now, GW2 management is at an all time low, to be kind.

Nope, sorry, the Ghost Thief is well and alive since I’ve been killed by two since ‘the patch’.

Invisible should be a long cooldown, not a bounce off the wall or ambient creature and be forever invisible and able to kill without ever being seen.

Nerf or remove the condi

I will keep this short.
Anet remove or nerf the condi cause in wvw there is no piont to roam or to have fun fights anymore. This is what wvw is now 1 enemy spam a stupid skill. You, remove condi, resistance, heal. Your boons got removed. Heals, restistance, remove condi. CD. Game over. Your scwered.

Either give resistance a longer stack and cannot be removed. Or give more condi removal to other classes and not only DRUID!! Or bring back the good old days where small group was be possible to wipe blobs (with no high condi damage!!). Because now there is 0% chance to wipe blobs

32bit client not logging in

After the latest update, 32bit client refuses to log in.

64bit client works.

I can’t stay connected.

The diagnostic GW2 users is a liar – meant to pretend that issues don’t exist when they do.

GW2 ‘network diagnostic’ is a heinous and badly made tool that doesn’t show anyone the truth – but those who know how to use the real network tools will find a huge problem with connectivity not being addressed by Anet.

Ask yourself after you look at the TraceRoute, what’s “lag” doing in any network address?

Why is Anet not ‘getting’ that there is a serious and pervasive problem with connectivity in GW2 to the point where many can’t even connect for more than three or four minutes at the very most and ping times even with 100 megabit connection down and 30 megabit up on Comcast not far from the origin point of the game itself.

Every time we make tickets on these connectivity issues we are told to run the ‘diagnostic’ which tells them all is well and it is not , but *to whom can you go to when their own tools are meant to lie to the person reading them?

No other program drops out like game and no other application drops packets like this one is.

There is no point to it cos it means nothing……are you saying that people do this because they can?? Well still means nothing and nothing to be upset about.

I’m saying I bet you five dollars a memo will go out to staff or it will be addressed in a meeting soon because too many have complained at this point and it looks bad on the company. Turning off the tag is a simple fix to make everyone happy and change little.

I play this game, and I want it to be successful for my own selfish reasons. Something like this is damming to a games reputation. This is not the first time nor the first MMO to have had a community flare-up over it. It would be a shame to see something like this damage such a great creation when the fix is so simple.

It would be absolutely shameful if they caved. The anet guild members should be able to be just as proud of their guild affiliation as the rest of us.

No, they don’t. Your knowledge of the IT community or the player community or even the company community at Areannet are not something you know the consensus of.

More of Arenanet should be playing, not less. Believe me, if they had to play a third of the hours most of us played, the game’s bugs would be fixed in a few months, and I mean all of them.

It would be amazing for Anet to have a training aspect – but then again a real MMO hasn’t existed in a decade that shows how to be better not ‘guess what might work’.

Amazing game, but the status of events, WvW, NPCs, cut scenes, PvP errors and ‘never start because we moved on from vanilla content and who cares if an event in lower maps or even HoT don’t work as created usually starts to wear on the players of all experience as events don’t scale, don’t work and don’t give a loot that makes any kind of sense even by GW2s rules.

If I worked for a gaming company (I only worked for cities, military bases and retail IT back to 1990 as a computer builder, server administrator, Outlook administrator, Executive Desktop Support), I’d be the first to suggest and follow a ‘hey play the game employees, we need to know what’s really going on as much as the players do…’ bent in any corporate community spirit.

Well stop rubbing salt in the wound anyway. DB is getting hammered by two MUCH more populated servers. Claiming DB’s garri when their tick is less than 50 is just dee bagg ery.

Happened all last week from SBI as well. If you want to “enjoy” WvW, how about growing some courage and going onto the low pop server for the week.

? YB is losing to you ….. We are not more populated no matter what anet’s silly status says AND no link…..

You keep crying YB is not full and has no link, yet they’re hanging well in t3 with servers that need 2-3 links to even compete with you. How about you finally open your eyes for a change, your server is big enough on it’s own to handle t3/4 linked servers. Players themselves do not know how populated their own server is unless they play 24/7 and have experienced every time zone to actually see it differently.

If you don’t want to play in t2 then stop crying about links? Maybe they didn’t want to make yet another t2 server out of yb so they didn’t get a link? Maybe YB already got it’s chance at higher tiers when they boosted their glicko and then dropped back down to t3 anyways?

YB has lost more players over being pitted against a T1 server than any other week or action that has been ignored by the powers that be.

So someone claims with an Anet tag, so what? They are people, they have a claim and they were chosen by the program and they took the chance to show the Anet colors which as long as they have the buffs needed by the server, who cares who ‘claims’ it?

Not one single guild played as it usually does this week.

YB is losing players but it is also losing heart – Anet should never have manually changed the glicko and pitted a tier one anything against those in tiers 3 and 4.

Relinking "every two months"

So it’s been 8 weeks (or 2 months), when and where is the relink? I want to watch the glicko ratings have massive heart palpitations.

Moreover, I want to finally get an even matchup where we are not getting 6v1ed anymore. Literally killing the WvW community in my server and waiting one more week is really driving a nail into the coffin. Especially when we were given the promise of 2 months a new relink.

The 5v1 and 6v1 isn’t stopping.

Not unless the linkings go away.

Condi Rev improvements

For Mallyx builds originally when it first started out the idea was to copy and manage conditions. That was the idea behind Mallyx and the corruption line, when it was first unveiled. or at least what I originally thought when i saw it. To give back that feel of what Mallyx was originally. As far as Revenants go I kinda want to throw out suggestions.

Pulsating Pestilence- Bump this up from 3 conditions copied to 5 when you legend swap, and also make it copy 1 condition on elite use on a 1s ICD, pulsating elites like EtD will have it pulse. Bump the range from 240 to 300. Reasoning would be it’s a grandmaster trait, most grandmasters need to have a iconic or powerful effect that sorta defines the build you’re making.

Bolstered Anguish - Make the damage modification on this trait affect condition damage as well.

Frigid Precision - In addition to applying chill on crit, chill also applies immobilized for 0.5s. Currently this trait is outdone by proc’d boon removal with confusion aka Spontaneous Destruction, and would offer a nice control aspect in Master tier between more damage from Bolstered Anguish, or boon removal with confusion.

Replenishing Despair - Either remove the internal cooldown and bump up the heal about 200% or keep the ICD and make it heal you for every condition you have on you when you get one applied. Example 1 condition =126 healing, 5 conditions =630. Whatever this trait was intended to do to help survive against conditions, it isn’t doing it.

Diabolical Inferno - Have this trait also apply a unique debuff to enemies that amplify condition damage done to them by 10% for 5s. Sadly it’s just a attempt to improve a bit of Rev support if they decide to go condition damage, Condition Revs will always be outdone until they have Torment do more damage to idling foes in PVE, Rather I’d jsut like them to improve the damage to where it’s not a massive drop in damage if the enemies are not moving but very minor.

Banish Enchantment - Instead of a line passing through, eliminate the line up affect and just make it into a 300 AoE around the target. It’ll be more convenient that way instead of trying to awkwardly line up moving targets to hit with a tab targeted skill.

Immobilize-Not Working As Intended

As one who solos camps, towers and keeps (yes, keeps) in WvW, I’d like to know why immoblilze doesn’t do what it says it will.

When I use immobilize, the NPC or real life person behind the toon moves all over the place.

Once is a while, the person or NPC might not move out of place, but mostly they can and do move while the “immobilize chain” whips around their body making a mockery of “immobilize”.

This is a broken mechanic if it doesn’t work as intended and it does not work as intended and as explained most of the time.

Any consistent way to make gold solo?

Is there any reliable way to make gold solo? I don’t mean completely solo, I can do world bosses and events etc. I just don’t want to have a dedicated party of players, I’d like to jump in and out of the game on my own pace and make gold along the way.

So that kind of throws Fractals and dungeons out of the question. I have tried doing world bosses but nothing of value higher than 50 silver has ever dropped for me. I also guess jumping puzzles cannot drop anything good at all no matter your luck. Gathering does not make gold. Everything I can buy with map specific currency from vendors is account bound. Silverwastes farming makes 2g/hour at best and it is not very fun.

So what do people do to make gold in this game? I could stay one hour longer at work, buy gems with € and get as much gold as I get from a full month of HC playing day and night. But that seems and feels like it would just defeat the purpose of playing the game.

I get that there are some gold making guides out there but most of them don’t say anything about solo play, or they are extremely outdated. Anything that doesn’t involve grinding or staring at the TP for hours would be nice.

Auric Basin was THE way to make gold for many but most of us know that the Silverwastes is far more consistent and now better since Auric Basin was nerfed to the ground.

In the Silverwastes your magic find is boosted by doing the event.

Use tools, food and boosts.

Find an organized map using Looking For Group tool in “Squads” – usually a TML or other large PvE guild will be running a tag – if not, look for any organized group.

You will be getting “Bags of Gear” which contain Magic Find salvagable gear and for those wanting to get to 300+ base magic find fastest, consume all with a Mystic or Master kit (some argue about this one, but my experience is garnering me a lot of gold when others complain about not making much).

The vendor on that map also has bags of gear for your map currency north of the Camp Resolve WP. When you have more bandit crests than you can ever get rid of – and it will happen soon enough when you play this map at least once a day, buy a few bags a day making sure you always have crests reserved for keys.

After the event, most commanders will run a ‘chest train’ in-between events – garnering you even more salvage and gold for little effort and no output of gold.

The more you understand this map, the faster you can get to maximum gold find and finding more and better loot.

I spend at least 100 gold per week and am still able to save now that I am not dumping gold and mats into guilds – soon I will buy, not craft, the Bifrost.

As a ranger main (for life!) I expect nothing but nerfs, and no fixes at all for the thing that defines this class – our pets.
No worries though – we’re used to it, and we always find a way to stand strong, even though we have most of the community and apparently most of the devs working against us.
Flippin numbers around in a spreadsheet and call that ‘balance’ is a joke, just so you know.

But to say it is to throw one’s self to the powers that be who can’t see the broken state of skills and pets.

We’re not the only ones who have broken skills, but our pets haven’t improved one whit and are even still juveniles – with half the health as their counterparts in PvE (yes, WvW has less life for any pet).

Oh well… here’s hoping the next patch starts to address errors, not nerf well respected skills now well learned and used to their capacity by some.

Players are the main reason for the rollercoaster. it isn’t Anet – even with their stupid changes they are not the only ones to blame.
It’s the stupid thinking that transfering to another server changes the fights or something. Then they play there for some weeks and get bored again or get farmed and transfer elsewhere. With every transfer you lose some players that are sick of transfering and stop playing.

I never get it why this is so much of an issue on NA.

I haven’t transferred in over two years – closer to three, so my comment is stronger than ever – server loyalty isn’t important so people think that the grass is greener on the next server, when it never will be.

I am loyal to my server, but most don’t invest in nor get to know the players who are behind that animated toon.

Loyalty rewards are needed in WvW to save WvW. That and unlinking all and letting slow servers be slow and big servers be big.

Not everyone wants a huge blobby WvW experience, yet even on the smallest of servers if you are linked with two other servers, you will never have the server experience you chose in the first place.

Sorry you are way off the mark here. TC doesn’t have numbers to compete in T1 at the moment or even at NA in T2.

You say yourself that in EU Mag has a kitten ton of players playing even when there is no tag but that’s not true on TC. There is no kitten ton of players maybe 10-15 at best if there isn’t a pin or sometimes even if there is! This is numbers across all bls….

BG friends saying, TC people saying, likely people on other servers saying…how on earth is Mag still open? Mag blobs are real and even Mag guilds complain that they can’t run private without a kitten ton of people following…it’s killing T1 and the poor unfortunate T2 server who rolls T1, end of story.

Anet needs to revamp the algorithm that determines wvw server size but I guess they collect easy money as band wagoners head to Mag while ushering wvw to its speedy death.

Mag needs to seriously destack if it really wants people to fight otherwise why would you fight that bloated kitten?

In regards to the algorithm – Anet still to this day has not made it clear who they are counting and when for WvW population.

Standing AFK for hours is done by many – they move for a few seconds, then are counted for naught but the server isn’t getting the benefit of their help – and it’s getting old.

Maps are misreporting the colors of keeps, towers and camps, and Anet won’t fix the issue – and running to a camp that is yours when it’s GREEN but is reporting to the map as RED is not fun nor productive.

Anet needs to start caring about WvW again.

JQ has lost a lot of players in the recent months. So in two timezones there isn’t even a population greater 10-15 players – not even talking about a lack of commanders here.

Ok, but let’s consider the option “JQ is still full” – how are BG and Mag not?
Right, it makes still no sense.

When players stop migrating and start being loyal to a single server, things could well improve and balance out, but that’s not likely to happen until the players get sick and tired of the roller coaster of the population inequities (and worse link inequities) it’s not us, it’s a game mode where there is no reward for loyalty, none at all.

I thought as the years progressed that the Tournaments would build server pride and loyalty, but with the institution of the megaserver (worst idea ever) and the follow on lack of counting only WvW players and then the discontinuing of the Tournaments, WvW became more of a popularity contest where most players follow one or two tags and couldn’t care less about the rest of the players or the server as a whole.

We aren’t allowed to care about our servers any longer.

The linkings have destroyed any privacy of tactics we once had, as our methods and practices are spread by past links while more and more players, like me, extremely heavy on the WvW, play less and less and more PvE where the rewards are better and the map isn’t as trolly or empty _______ insert the hole in your timezone – all but the largest servers or unbalanced 5v1 or 6v1 server matches have huge holes in EU timeszones, if one is NA.

So, we have a cascade of actions that have brought us to the lowest morale point for WvW on any server.

Even JQ isn’t happy and players still want to move there… but can’t.

The linking isn’t working to anyone’s advantage except the Prime Time blobs who still sit in queues.

Tournaments were important.

Loyalty isn’t rewarded.

Mentoring and supporting follow-on commanders is a lost art in much of gaming, this one is no exception. Some games did this well, this one needs improvement to get players to trust one another and be cooperative, not destructive.

This is my hobby. It keeps me busy at night when not much outside restaurants and 24 hour pharmacies are open but in WvW there are few players on some maps on some servers and the players who have, for the last five years, been the lifeblood of WvW, the core when others are asleep or at work, are tired of the lack of care for WvW.

Give us some hope that linking can end – that loyalty can be rewarded in a way that builds teams and trust in a gaming mode that should be the shining example of cooperative play.

When I have a lot of minor runes or sigils in my bags I go to the mystic forge and just double click them to forge until there are not enough left to be forged. Occasionally I get a major one to sell. The few left over I sell to vendor or save for when daily mystic forge pops. It doesn’t take that long, reduces the numbers of them and is a lot easier than going one by one to sell to vendor with the added bonus of the occasional major rune.

You, like Anet, are not comprehending the pain from clicking so many times with arthritis, lupus and so many other diseases which cause pain in fingers and hands.

Clicking MORE is not what we need – we need less clicking and more ‘sell all’ xxx , when they become unsalable on the TP.

Minor runes, because there are so few that are ‘salable’ on the Trading Post, should be in the “junk” category to be able to get rid of all of them at once at any Merchant vendor.

In-game /bug reports and forum posts don’t guarantee that you get an individualized response; only a ticket can do that.

I was scolded for putting in a ticket. Not kidding, I was told it belongs here and not there.

Believe me, I am doing what I was told to do in email.

Disconnection problems

That sounds as if there’s a problem with your default browser.
“Browser?” I hear you exclaim? “How could my browser have anything to do with GW2?”

Short version: the BL Trading Post uses a custom browser to display trade data and sometimes there’s poor communication between the game’s idea of the browser and your computer’s.

If you hate troubleshooting, start a support ticket. ANet has been able to clear up this sort of thing for others, with a modest number of back & forth emails.

If you like troubleshooting, a couple of things you can check:

Your choice of default browser: you can try changing it from your current one (e.g. IE) to a new one (e.g. Firefox) and then swap back; that might resolve the issue. If you want to be more thorough, change the default browser and then start the game to see if it fixes the problem — if it remains fixed after restoring your original, great; if not, then you know the issue is with your browser somehow.

Ensure that Windows agree with your choice of default browsers: the original version of windows 10 (and some versions of Win8, I believe) include more than one spot to set the browser. There are an annoying number of circumstances in which those aren’t the same (and if so, that almost always causes problems with GW2’s TP interface). Usually the step above (swapping the default back & forth) accidentally fixes that issue.

Another potential issue is with your anti-malware, including any firewall. They might interfere with the in-game browser’s ability to communicate with the game’s API. The browser runs as a process called “coherentUI_host.exe” — you can check to make sure it’s allowed by the software that makes up your PC’s defense team.

What in the world are you talking about? Browser? Seriously?

I have connection errors to the game and the Black Lion Trading, my browsers (two, IE and Chrome) on Windows 7 Home, are working, but only GW2 doesn’t work, over and over.

I am now on my second reinstallation in two days – the game is having issues connecting and staying connected.

A Fragile Peace cutscene bugged

I’m helping my friend with his storyline. He and I went into “A Fragile Peace”. I got the cutscene just fine but he locked up and couldn’t continue on, having to hard leave the game and log back in only to have it happen again. If I could get some help on this it’d be amazing otherwise the only other person I saw who had this problem never got an answer so I hope there’s an answer to give. He will be redownloading the game eventually but if there’s a way to fix it without doing that it’d be even better.

Almost half of the cut-scenes I have seen in the game lately are missing voice dialog while the text plays on.

It’s not just one single cutscene, it’s many in many maps, achievements and stories.

Hum, tooltip is one thing and the skill could be quite another. Anet has a long history of inaccurate tooltips.

Try hitting a few golems (at least 10 with and 10 without the trait) in HoTM. Average the values, see if there’s a bug indeed. I’d pick an amulet without crit to get non-crit values.

Apparently you aren’t reading what he’s getting.

If a skill is lowered by adding a trait, the trait is bugged.

For the last three days, I haven’t been able to stay in the game for more than two or three minutes.

I’ve taken the game off my computer and installed it in a completely different place – and it’s worse.

I’ve checked for malware, viruses, connection problems to Comcast.

I’ve filed in game reports that apparently are not getting to the end – dozens of them, dozens about still being able to move, but not one skill will go off – then, not all but most of the time dropping connection, over and over and over and over and over.

The game isn’t playable for me and I’d like to know why.

I can ping and traceroute to any other website on Earth and not one of them times out, but not all traceroutes to your servers work consistently and many times I get timeouts, many times, a lot of them.

During the ‘day’ Pacific time, this is as good as it gets. As soon as “Prime Time” Pacific time hits( 5pm – 11pm) , your servers reject incoming transmissions – and I would like to know why.

The lag in this game is something unbeliable

People don’t factor in their connections and the servers in between A.Net and themselves. I know for a fact there are US players on that server who have less lag then their EU counterparts but we in the US usually have faster connections. People need to check what is going on between the game servers and their PC before they blame A.Net. When I was having lag, I found a server in between, one of my ISP servers was dropping 50% of the packets. That needs to be looked at first.

A.Net has done a lot to lower lag in the game. BUT, they could do better.

Also this game is not multithreaded as it uses one core on a CPU and will hog that, so if that CPU core is at 100% usage, that will also cause lag.

I am in the US, Washington state to be specific, NEAR Anet, NEAR the servers and the ‘stop action’ and now ‘dead’ is overwhelming in many areas, with or without a ‘zerg’ present.

Anet’s networking is abysmal to badly managed no matter when or where you are in the game – lag happens even in the most empty of maps at the strangest of times.

That said, during ‘prime time’, whenever that is in your time zone, if you are on a cable connection you are sharing your internet with your neighbors who are using it after work until bedtime.

It’s up to Anet to plan for and find a ‘fix’ since on the client side, we’re powerless, they are not.

Servers ARE IN DALLAS, TX in the NCSOFT server farm, not is Washington State. Just look at this pingplotter capture. I have circled the server of interest – in DALLAS.

People really need to get a clue here. Yes, this game is single threaded and if you do not have a fast enough processor or your processor core, this game uses which is CORE 1, then you will experience lag – plain and simple.

Ok, so Dallas to Washington state causes the game to do no more then stop action and dropping?

It’s Anet’s problem – they don’t care that their game has a horrid connection to many computers.

Outmanned calculated wrong?

I recommend switching to the shortened nameplates. It is far easier to get a more accurate count of colored dots than full names. For example, “two 60 man zergs” can’t at all be accurate since map hits queue around 80 or less.

also minions ranger pets and elementals should not get a colored dot or even a name plate as it makes opposing forces look much larger than they actually are.

Is it just me or is the alt-F4 being used more than ever when you are about to stomp a downie in WvW, yes you still get the kill and the odd drop, but surely Anet can come up with a penalty for players that continuously do it.
Had the same player, a necro from NSP in the space of 10 minutes, 3 times do it. there should be a time ban which increases the amount of time the player does it.

It is.

One can quit the game and deny a score to anyone if you are quick enough.

Sad.

When new World Linking

When it will be another World Linking or there will be another one?

Just because atm is like couple of good months that we dont win a match Aurora Glade. No point to put upgrades on keeps or towers no point to siege because we have only blob match so no point for doing that no point for spending gold and i make gold from gems and gems with real money. Want money solve the problem otherwise well i will just get bored probally doing nothing.

Anet should stop all links and let the servers fall where they may.

It’s been long enough for this failed experiment.

WvW is the only mode of play where things are taken from us (tourneys, choices of servers, smooth gameplay) and ignored compared to the rest of the game.

Skill lag or something far worse is now happening on a regular basis.

Colors of camps can be wrong and often are.

Icons go missing until a restart – and sometimes that doesn’t fix any of the above.

Scores are misreported per client, one sees a wrong score yet another standing next to them sees the score normally.

If they’re not using a third party program to keep them from being logged out, then they’re not botting. However, there are rules about AFK farming. So, if someone appears to be AFK farming, you can report them for Botting; Anet will investigate it and decide if what they’re doing is allowed or not.

I can show you many articles by computer gaming mags which say that Anet ‘is forgiving’ on those reports.

In game reporting is broken, very, very, very, broken and usually ignored, rarely flagged.

Apparently you aren’t reading industry standard stories on how broken some of GW2 really is.

Why dont you get their names then? Target, block, check who you blocked, report. Not that difficult.

Reports do absolutely nothing.

We’ve tried to ‘report’, even with ticketing, and little is ever done to stop the hacking that isn’t being focused on by Anet.

People don’t factor in their connections and the servers in between A.Net and themselves. I know for a fact there are US players on that server who have less lag then their EU counterparts but we in the US usually have faster connections. People need to check what is going on between the game servers and their PC before they blame A.Net. When I was having lag, I found a server in between, one of my ISP servers was dropping 50% of the packets. That needs to be looked at first.

A.Net has done a lot to lower lag in the game. BUT, they could do better.

Also this game is not multithreaded as it uses one core on a CPU and will hog that, so if that CPU core is at 100% usage, that will also cause lag.

I am in the US, Washington state to be specific, NEAR Anet, NEAR the servers and the ‘stop action’ and now ‘dead’ is overwhelming in many areas, with or without a ‘zerg’ present.

Anet’s networking is abysmal to badly managed no matter when or where you are in the game – lag happens even in the most empty of maps at the strangest of times.

That said, during ‘prime time’, whenever that is in your time zone, if you are on a cable connection you are sharing your internet with your neighbors who are using it after work until bedtime.

It’s up to Anet to plan for and find a ‘fix’ since on the client side, we’re powerless, they are not.
