Hi, been having the same problem with the game for past couple days. Wondering if the OP ever resolved this issue and if so, how did you resolve it? Otherwise, hope someone else who knows how to fix the repair not responding issue sees this thread.

I looked through this thread and I didn’t see a single WvW build that includes staff. Staff is amazing.

Another build type missing – Condi Druid – I know at least a good strong hybrid towards condi + damage mitigation is possible but I can’t find a single one.

I use this for Condi Druid. But it does not include Staff.

Utility Effects missing from trade post

when looking for utility effects on the Trade Post ‘other/utility effects’ i get the message ‘Sorry, no items match this filter’ i can find stuff by name ie ‘master tuning crystal’ they just dont show in the general filter.

The problem is the reports made “In Game” are not being heeded – this has been happening to me for over four days.

We need a better way to find out that these bugs exist, because not even Google can find this thread.

My other thread on this is in WvW – as that is where I mostly use Utility “foods”. Not happy that people think that I didn’t search my heart out before posting what I didn’t know was a bug.

Anet and company, as well as players, I did a google and other engine search for this bug.

The search feature for this website is famously broken and not even google could find the bug report that you listed.

We need a way to see bugs as they are found, not wait or guess when no information is forthcoming from Anet – ever.

Well sorry to hear about your personal issues. I just tested this and it is rather odd, it seems like a coding bug with the filter, the stones are there, just type in stone without a filter and scroll down to find them. You can also craft several different account bound types after getting recipes, or buy the t5 versions from the portable provisioner for 5 badges each, very convenient and cheap.

It’s not the only major glitch seen lately then.

If the Trading Post won’t work consistently, and I know others who have also seen this “bug”, then why hasn’t it been addressed?

Seems no real way to know if any game function is a bug at this point and reporting it and getting it to those who can do something about it is worse.

Bugs are becoming more prevalent in some game modes than others – I hardly ever seen bugs in PvE any longer, but I certainly see them in WvW and PvP so often as to be a serious concern if someone is even looking.

I have dozens of screenshots taken throughout days of this bug alone; this is a per account bug that needs to be addressed.

Druids are overpowered in wvw

Druids are OP in wvw.

Feels like watching ele back in 2012~2013 but with more mobility , healing , kiting

Why is this class can stealth ,

heal more than support ele does ,

superior kiting range from 1200~1500 ,

hits hard even with stacked toughness and vitality ,

they are extremely hard to kill and hard to ignore/run from

Seriously some of class like druids , condi mesmers , condi trap thief makes wvw extremely boring and unhealthy to play

This is just more baloney.

Druids aren’t “OP” any more than any other well played character.

I’ve been bested by good characters of every kind while playing every other profession and Druids are by no means any more powerful or deadly than any other understood and maximized character with a human behind it who is thinking about the next move, very much like chess, only much faster.

I am devastated.

It takes me forever to learn anything new with literal brain damage from beatings and falls after years of beatings.

Not being able to buy the Sharpening Stones or other utilties gives an edge, a huge one, to those who can do crafting easily or remember to do so – because as it is, between pain from tumors and pain throughout my very ill body from decades of antibiotic damage, I can barely sleep every other day, let alone try to figure out how to make stones, oils and crystals.

It’s bad enough most have an edge over the very disabled, but I’ve been mostly silent, until now.

This is my literal brain therapy – not unlike many games used in hospitals and facilities that deal with Alzheimer patients – GW2 is my outlet to try to keep what is left of my cognitive facilities.

Without the stones on the Trading Post, people like me will be losing even more than we already are with our inability to learn the way Anet tells us we must – no mentoring, no helps, just “hey, go figure it out”.

Meta builds are a JOKE for people like me. I have not been able to stay alive in WvW (and before that PvP) with any “meta” build. I play so differently that even when people ask for my build, seeing when I do have success, which is often when I am with a group and not often when I am alone but a HUGE number of baddies going down just around me (and the Guards, and the Revs – the one I am referring to is a Druid.), they can’t play the toon I made. Can’t.

I need those stones on the Trading Post. Many of us do, but many will just limp along or just stop the game mode they need them in most… Apparently I am being left out of WvW over a change that certainly didn’t need to be made and one that many were using as gold to keep them in whatever mode they were doing successfully – you even took away their incomes.

Wrong, so very wrong.

Mixed Borderlands Update

Hello everyone,

I wanted to let you know that the mixed borderlands will be coming with Tuesday’s release! This means that the red borderlands will now always be the Desert Borderlands and blue and green borderlands will always be the Alpine Borderlands. Changing the map will require an estimated 45-90 minutes of WvW downtime around the time of the release. This change also requires us to end the match early (on the Tuesday before the release), and run a new match from Tuesday to Friday. As a reminder, that Friday is also when new world links will be happening.

It better include the jumping buff, as well as all other original (sans the mid event, that was horrid and you were correct to remove it) mechanics so we can take monuments again instead of pretending to.

Slow death of the "forgotten" Guest server

Hello,

It’s not a “mimimi” whine contribution. It´s only how I feel it, perhaps others too. I merely want to share how things are going for us – as a Guest server- with the World Linking.

I am on Whiteside Ridge since 2 ½ years, it’s my home. Most of us stay there since beta appr. 4 years (“veteran” players). We were mostly T8 and at times T9. And then, in February we reached T7, the best result in the history of our server!

However, since the 2. Linking, we’re losing “veteran” players + Leaders of “veteran” Guilds. They gave up and transferred to host server or quit the game. The next big raid guild has left us. This comes down to a loss of appr. 80-100 players. These amount is a great loss for a Guest server.

The hard core stays, through thick and thin. BUT for how long? No one knows.

I’m not talking about being a ‘Bandwagon’, we are in the last tier and place, because no one comes. Not like Vabbi, fortunately.

Some general reasons:

  • There is NO balance between the MU or Linking
  • Same MU for many more weeks (where you cannot even win)
  • Guest servers are forgotten, don’t ‘exist’ anymore, are not displayed
  • You will be considered a ‘Bandwagon’ for the stronger server (hence the server jumpers)

Anet, please give us – the Guest server – at least our identity and homeland back! We fight just as well as the Host server.

We cap towers, camps or Keeps and it displays: “Ring of Fire has captured…” … nice … is it us or the Host server? Please show at least the abbreviations of both servers RoF/WSR (Host-/Guest server) that just capped something. Do not take it all from us!

One another point:
Why give high tier servers like Deso/FsP a guest server when there are low tier servers that need more people to compete with the already over populated servers.

Giving a weaker server 1 link and then a stronger server 2 links (french servers), doesn’t make much sense.

Sorry for the wall of text, but I had to get it off my chest and belly.

My posting in another part of this forum is very similar to yours.

WvW has had the worst attention to it since the beginning of the game – and that’s saying something when PvE and PvP are so well organized, updated and advanced.

T4 population issue - Next Steps and Timeline

For months now, the SF and DH server groups on T4 have been so woefully underpopulated that they are perpetually blobbed by whoever the third server group is. The WvW game in T4 isn’t even remotely competitive.

I would like to request a response from Anet regarding what the next steps are for fixing this problem and a general timeline for when those steps will be taken.

When Anet can figure out that they messed up at the Megaserver and then never took into account how many active WvW’ers there are per server, that’s two very big mistakes that have just about destroyed WvW.

We asked for linking – but not one of us who suggested it said to leave the linked servers alone for weeks or months on end without readjusting.

Active WvW players should be counted – not the whole population of any specific server and linking for months without any movement up or down are the two things that can and will save WvW – otherwise it’s just going to be one big pain for all concerned – even the servers who win.

What?

Winning doesn’t mean good fights, it just means boredom on one or two sides and massive frustration and disaffections on one or two servers.

My condition mesmer is just a monster in wvw. I am ticking at 26 thousand health, I build a asusra, so I have the radiation field. Last thief that tried to gank me got schooled when I dropped the radiation field right on top of me. Then the fun really began, when I threw the condition’s they tried to hit me with right back at em.

Just youtube condition mesmer 2016. I based my build off of that, then tweaked it to my play style. I just can not stress enough, Get Travlers Runes, any thing else, and your mesmer is just WAY to slow.

Best thing with my PU mesmer, 3 or 4 try and gank me, I stealth out, and I am long gone.

What’s your full build?

Unbreakable walls/links fail to render to some players and allow them to walk through them as if the walls did not exist and get to the lords room without dropping any siege.

There are more hacks now than at the beginning of the game.

The solution is better server pairing. Anyone could see after the first day that CD quad server alliance was too strong for the rest of tier 4.

SoS and CD are doing what they want to do, six against one and then thinking they have so much skill when numbers and nothing more are tearing Tier 4 into a “we don’t want to run today, they just blob us out” for most guilds.

As I look at the scores the other 3 tiers seem pretty evenly matched. I am hoping with the next link our tier is also more evenly balanced.

The solution is Anet paying attention to six servers against one and they aren’t.

Pathetic that SoS and CD (and linked servers) are working together against a single server.

WvW isn’t part of GW2 any longer, it’s just a forgotten and abused place where thousands are waiting for help.

That’s pretty accurate for everything, although I dont really see druids zerg healing. Their utility simply sucks. An ele cleric will serve the zerg much, much better IMO. Most druid/rangers seem to go the selfish build route.

This is amazingly wrong. I have two druids, one is fully capable of being a commander, let alone being in the frontline.

And I do huge damage and not just a little healing.

Maybe if you played a druid and knew the builds you’d have a clearer idea of their utility and not dis a whole profession for no reason.

In case someone else gets stuck on it, here’s how your break her shield:

1) get hit by the bloodstone – this will form a stream between you and the bloodstone, empty your endurence bar and low you down.
2) use the new Mastery skill – this will keep the stream active and remove the endurence denial and slow effect so you can move freely.
3) walk outside of the circle she forms in with her ring-shaped path when she spins around.
4) Get her to walk through the stream – once you hit her with it, it will deplete her shield down quite quickly. It’s a good strategy to follow her path a bit to keep her in the stream.

that’s how you remove her shield!
I got stuck on it for a bit so I thought I should post the solution here

I’ve been destroying the middle crap for over half an hour and none of the NPCs will are helping.

Only once has it been able to be hit, all other times even when the bloodstone shard in the middle is down, she’s STILL invulnerable and that makes NO sense.

Half an hour for a player doing all the right things is far more torture than Anet should ask of any player.

This is painful, seriously, painful, my fingers are almost numb and HURT.

Anet, you failed on this garbage without instructions that make any sense.

I am so horridly tired of “guessing” at your silly mechanics that hardly ever work and hurt to boot.

Now, after 40 minutes (I came back after posting this), the skill to kill the bloostone shard isn’t working AT ALL.

Bugs are killing IT let alone gaming. None of you can figure out how to document your code so you can fix it later? What the heck?

This isn’t a game sequence, this is damage to hands and fingers for no reason.

What’s just as bad is the text speech that marks that the skill isn’t working (my speech bubble) never shows in ANY screenshot, what’s up with that, ANET?

There were instructions. Each section eased you into the mechanics. Marjory even told you what to do.

So the NPC’s just standing here are “as intended”?

And the instructions don’t matter if the skill isn’t working, at all, stops after 20 minutes.

So don’t tell me I didn’t follow instructions, I did. This is a sorry excuse for a fight scene.

You might have been on a story step that is now in a chapter that isn’t unlocked yet. It’ll be visible once you reach the correct level.

We need direction.

GW2 Pause/Freeze while Playing

This is happening to everyone I know – not some, ALL.

This “pause” or “hesitation” bug is really tearing the game to shreds and not one person from Anet is paying any attention to it.

If it’s not fixed, and it’s not then this isn’t an “old” posting, it’s an ignored one.

I hate posting bugs in the forums because no one EVER takes note unless it’s all over reddit or youtube.

Hi i’m working on astralaria t 4 collection and i have a problem with one item. Despite i got all 4 dragon magic collectibles , when i click to merge them 3 of them dissapeared(only Zhaitans left in my inv) and i didnt get the Elder dragons magic collcetible. Now im unable to continue my progress….I guess its some sort of a bug?!?! 0o

I had items returned for this very reason – it happened over a year ago and it’s happening now.

Why play a druid?

Tried druid, played druid, hate druid. For me it’s POS. Went back to my Ranger and it still owns. Getting really tire of the DEV hate for the Ranger and how they go out of their way to nerf and ignore the profession.

Not sure why you hate Druid. I’d like to hear your reasons.

I fell in love with Druid for its mobility and healing.

But the most ruthless change from Anet was the healing mechanic where now we can’t heal in WvW unless we are out of combat for more than 15 seconds – that’s a slap in the face – but other than that, Druid is much more fun than Ranger was and does just as much damage in most situations.

Considering making a ranger, mostly a condi shortbow ranger for pve stuff but was wondering about the druid spec, is it only good for healing? Thank you.

Druid is one of the strongest power dealing but I recently found my condi Druid can hold her own as long as she isn’t alone.

I’ve learned that stacking vitality with condition damage is vital (toughness matters not in receiving condi damage – correct me and cite the source as this is what I’ve been taught in the last three years).

Mitgating foods/tools as well as trinkets to boost your precision like mad are key to PvE success AND you can heal. Just 300-400 healing is huge in a crowd in Pve.

I think they proved with this awful expansion how much they care about guilds. They killed off roaming small guilds, they destroyed server communities, now phase three KILL all guilds.

They want you to be a 111111spammer in EOTM, robot.

It all started with the megaserver and the lack of any server to properly recruit.

From there it was all downhill – before that it was utter magic – just – utter – magic.

Anet destroyed their own best game mode.

Brilliant.

Your comments are dead on – we’re not being listened to, we’re being told to shut up when we’re proved to be “right” on any “balance” issue.

Dev’s, what the heck are you thinking locking the worlds again? Players are just starting to move and balance ourselves out and you lock it? You’re going to break Guilds that are in mid transfer, which are several that I know of alone.

OPEN THE WORLDS! We balance better than you can. At the very least give us a 48 hours warning before you go all Overlord (wrongly) and lock the worlds.

Because guilds were leaving FA and JQ to stack BG and TC (and I am sure more going on behind the scenes) the servers were locked.

For guilds to jump to “stack” another server to “win” is disloyal to those who stay on those servers – mercernaries aren’t wanted in WvW by the real WvW players who spend hours upon hours in WvW without compensation, without help, and many times without anyone else on a map, yes, even in tier 1.

It’s time to put a limit on how many times a year a player may jump from server to server – because as we have seen many servers have been destroyed by the coming and going of those who don’t care about the community, never really becoming part of it, and then leaving a huge hole when they jump from place to place to place depending on how lucrative the offers are.

The last part some aren’t comprehending – real money is being used to manipulate WvW like no other game I’ve ever seen.

LOL, that is so wrong. I’m gonna make one. And, also, why does the trapper runes invisibility work on WvW traps? That should be restricted to traps related to the build or profession.

Warrior runes that give boons for a shout don’t work for Ranger so why do Trapper runes work for Thief.

Tactivator abuse is a problem that’s going on in every server, and unfortunately there isn’t a good way to prevent abuse right now aside from disabling public use which is not an ideal solution.

What you describe is unfortunate behavior, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that player was spying, some people are just trolls and this is what they do because they have no life. Emergency waypoints and other buffs can be seen by enemies, and when the wp is pulled it pops an icon on the map which can be seen by anyone. Having an enemy zerg hit your tower doesnt mean they are coordinating with a spy.

I suggested a few weeks ago that certain tactivators like chilling fog, airship, emergency waypoint etc only be usable if there are enemies attacking the structure. So who knows what will happen.

You nailed the problem.

We can’t pick and choose who gets access to the activators – if we did, like a real facility, we’d not have even a tenth of the spying that we have now.

So I came across something very interesting today in WvW…

My story begins here…

Today I saw a fellow JQ player moving an Omega golem around JQ keep in EBG.
He was moving it from the Lords room to the edge of the outer wall while damaging it constantly.
So I thought… maybe he’s new and is stuck and doesn’t know how to get out (it happens).
As I approached him to talk to him, he gets out immediately and runs off.
And starts escorting the nearby dolyak caravan passing by Langor and JQ Keep.
I thought… hmmmm a bit odd.

So I blocked him, checked his AP, only 886. Obviously new to WvW.
I thought… why don’t I follow him and help him out in case he needs a hand.

And so I tag him and start following him discreetly.
He escorts the dolyaks for less than 1 minute, and then he waypoints right back into JQ Keep.
And runs straight to the tactivators and turns on the Emergency Waypoint.
JQ keep was empty – no one else was standing near the tactivators.
No enemy in sight.

So I start to type in Team Chat – to admonish him and let the others know.
But before I could finish typing, he takes off again, so I stop typing to follow him.

He goes directly to Bravost, and triggers the Emergency Waypoint there too.
All this while I am standing right there behind him.
This happened today around 6PM (Monday night, GMT+8 ).

Anyway, so I start typing (or ranting) on Team Chat (you can imagine my non-too-polite posts).
Literally just 5 posts/rants later, the DB zerg hits Langor.
I’ll let you decide whether that was coincidence or not.

And here my story ends…

But I have question.
In the heat of that moment, I had reported him for botting.
But upon consideration, I’m not so sure if there is anything wrong with what he did.
After all, he wasn’t exploiting a glitch or anything like that.
And as far as I could tell, he was just playing the game, and using the game mechanics as they were intended to be used.
Though perhaps in rather wilfully unwise manner.

So… can a dev or someone knowledgeable in this area confirm if this sort of action is:
1. In breach of the Arenanet/GW2 EULA.
2. Something frowned upon but not really disallowed.
3. Fine as it is, i.e. L2P. This sort of thing happens in real life, and MMOs are meant to be a simulation of that. Learn to deal with it.
4. To be actively encouraged. After all, when I calmed down, I realised it was quite fun to catch and expose him. It felt like an episode of NCIS: Guild Wars 2. Plus it was most interesting to see what lengths people would go to win a game with no prize.

Yak’s Bend is going through the same thing with our own person who does exactly this – several of them.

It seems to me the EULA doesn’t matter.

World Linking shows a pre existing problem

with the current match ups, The more populated servers are winning over the smaller servers. So the WvW focused guilds on the smaller servers that, feel that to get that WvW experience. they are forced to do the bold and expensive move to transfer over to the bigger servers. so the small servers get smaller as the big servers get bigger. which seems fine in a sense. because the small servers get paired up with the small servers. but from my recent matchups matchups. this hasn’t been the case for me at all

i only really have one suggestion for this. don’t put people in a 500 gem barrier to feel locked out the WvW that they could very well have. the fact that there is so many WvW cultures around servers. player should have some freedom to invest time to find the right server that they want to play on without blowing a whole lot of gems down the drain

the day before the wvw reset, on that day, give players the free option to transfer onto a different server. on any other day they will still have to pay the gems to transfer over

Devs:

If you look, even just casually, you will see the same people moving over and over and over.

We on Yak’s Bend are still fighting most of the same people/guilds as JQ (which is where most of them “were”) was abandoned and TC and BG were stacked, sometimes with people from the same guilds as active spies and saboteurs.

That said, locking people to their servers for a quarter or six months is absolutely not unreasonable.

Ok, but the integrity of WvW is now at stake.

What’s even more “telling” about the state of NA WvW is that the EU teams aren’t all linked – which shows in the more even scores, some very much nailbiters to the end. (Mos Millennium shows it very plainly)

And when we asked for alliances, we didn’t expect nor want servers to be attached at the hip no matter what the populations do or did. We asked, like in EU, for the servers to be more equally spread – but the “set” part of the EU doesn’t seem to matter anywhere NEAR as much as NA and the horrible inequities in populations between the first server and all others under it.

BG should never have been linked. Giving it a strong ally, and they did, absolutely destroyed tier 1.

The scores above just aren’t right. Most of the EU was pure competition.

By comparison NA was a joke whereby many aren’t even going into T1 – go look for yourself, even me, a hardcore WvW player is opting out this week as dying just to take a sentry ten times isn’t funny and it doesn’t exhibit skill of the players or the gamemakers when they know that 10-50 go after a single player.

WvW was supposed to be the ultimate competition and on EU it looks like the populations were carefully measured.

But in NA it seems that no WvW only player populations were considered, just the “positions” and thereby making a monster where EU has a no-brainer real fight because it’s going to come out pretty darn close on almost all EU servers.

Moving at will from server to server destroys WvW. They can just move far too often.

EU’s nailbiters were a lot more fun than the SMUSH that a quad-teamed (four against two) is happening when BG and TC are on each side, not harming one another and this is what WvW was supposed to be? A pure numbers game without any skills?

Oh, and to those who are calling out “siege”, you know you can clear siege easily IF you aren’t lazy, and that said, siege nerfed enough, thank you. Learn to play and stop being lazy.

Friday Match Resets Starting March 25th

Thanks everyone who chimed in on my previous thread about potentially changing WvW match reset timing. The response was overwhelmingly in favor of bringing back Friday resets, even if that meant it being a little later in the evening for North America.

Starting this Friday (March 25th), the weekly match reset time will change back to Fridays.

  • NA resets at 6PM/7PM PST/PDT Fri (2:00 UTC Sat)
  • EU resets at 10AM/11AM PST/PDT Fri (18:00 UTC Fri.)

Today’s reset was pretty late.

On Population Caps

Some information behind the current server population cap behavior:
Many may already know this bit, but for anyone else who doesn’t: world population is determined by activity level in WvW (Edge of the Mists and Obsidian Sanctum don’t count). If World A has many-times the number of players on it as World B, but World A does’t play WvW at all and World B plays tons of WvW, A will have the lowest population, and B will have a very high one.

This is not caused by the additional players bought about by the server link, but from returning players and a lower population cap on the host servers.
This is only partly true. We’ve also had a substantial increase in global WvW participation since reward tracks, world linking, and the return of the Alpine borderlands. On top of that, we use a fairly long historical tail on WvW activity level for world population purposes. Intent being to prevent worlds from artificially lowering their cap with just a couple weeks of intentional inactivity. One flipside of that being that even if global WvW population levels dropped next week, if they were still higher than pre-<aforementioned factors>, population levels would still go up as a new, higher week replaces an older, lower one in the window of time being used.
World linking problem: linking, say, a T8 NA world with a T1 NA world and doing nothing with population caps will make it very easy to pile onto an already-healthy world. So something needs to be done with population caps.
There are two opposing goals we can aim for.

  • Short-term prevention of bandwagoning. To do this, we’d need to make it more difficult to join a world that’s already low enough in WvW population to merit being linked in the first place.
  • Long-term health of worlds with less WvW activity. To do this, we’d need to make it easier to join a world that’s already low enough in WvW population to merit being linked in the first place.

As for what modifications we’ve put in place for population levels to not allow world linking to break the meaning and purpose of population entirely, we’re currently trying a compromise between going completely toward either the long-term or short-term health goals for world populations.

  • Unlinked worlds have the highest population cap.
  • Linked worlds have significantly lower population caps.

Some things we’re considering to help discourage bandwagoning:

  • Increasing the cost to transfer to lower-population worlds (since they’re now often going to be linked to high-pop worlds). For example, possibly 800 gems instead of 500.
  • Having merge hosts always considered Full, and their guest(s) all sharing the population their host would otherwise have.
  • Locking out transfers for a period of time after world links become active.

On Relinking More Often

We are also considering adjusting links more than once a quarter. There are some pros and cons to this, but assuming World Linking wins the current poll, we could poll on adjusting the re-link rate.

Pros:

  • More variety in allies and opponents.
  • Players are less likely to bandwagon.
  • World populations become more stable.

Cons:

  • Matchmaking becomes less accurate. There’d be more unfair matches.
  • The WvW World Rank leaderboard becomes less meaningful.
  • Additional administrative work for worlds coordinating voice-chat/forum access with their changing allies.
  • Players may start to avoid socializing and forming bonds with their cross-world allies, since they are likely to change often.
  • My team(WvW) spends more of our time analyzing population and match data, to determine new links, leaving less time for other types of WvW work.
  • It becomes harder to remember which worlds are currently linked, and know when the next relink is supposed to happen.

Want an idea to change WvW?

Lock GUILDS to their servers (and the people IN them so they don’t guild or server hop!) for at least six months.

You haven’t looked at the populations or you wouldn’t have locked the servers together – they would be movable to whichever server is larger with a smaller server to augment.

It makes me crazy that we suggested the latter and you took it as a quick out to just lock bottom and top servers (at the time) without any recognition or care of the populations and the server stacking that is STILL going on.

And shall we talk about hacking? It’s getting ridiculous.

New Link System

Totally killed WvW for me , queues of 30-40 ppl , 2 maps completely abanadoned, alpine BL it’s boring, dessert BL just needed a few changes to be perfect , the last changes anet did to the map did wonders for it , i’ll take a break until further changes.

The problem with the linking is that Anet didn’t bother to take into account the active WvW servers/hours/population and just threw servers, locked together without any way to mix it up, together and called it a day.

If these people could do math it would be a different WvW.

“YB Dominated T1” Yeh lol when BG wasn’t PPTing, now look at you, getting whipped by frikin DB!

People like you who deny that YB became the #1 server without huge guilds who came and left constantly are denying a whole community of those who spent massive hours not ppt’ing, but taking properties, fighting overwhelming numbers and not sleeping for days.

BG is bigger, not better. Period. And like JQ before it, it too will implode eventually from its own weight and internal, ridiculous, politics.

DB has said from the beginning it wouldn’t stop until it is #1 – and it might well be its time with the imbalances we seen now. It’s just a matter of time.

What happened to Yaks Bend?

I just logged in to see Yaks Bend losing by a mile when the opposite used to be true. Are they spending a lot of time reminiscing about the good ole days (about a week ago) and not much time trying to actually win now that fighting is required?

You can’t take a server that was already being double-teamed every single week (I have dozens of screenshots) and not “get” that the larger server isn’t the one that is in 1st place.

The ignorance of the choices made way before this, starting with the megaserver and complete inability to recruit on our own servers, to a one, and the “server linking” have now made WvW unplayable by any less than 10 together, never, ever alone.

Thanks Anet for destroying our specialness, our “can do” server and forcing those who already did 6-10 hours or more a day in WvW to walk away and know that Anet didn’t listen, didn’t care and will never comprehend that they destroyed communities that were struggling with fewer than the numbers were were against every week.

It’s not that YB was larger… It was a better fighter against larger numbers – was until the, now, megablobs (70+) and huge roaming groups make a 4-1 to 50-1 fights a 24 hour fact.

Community didn’t matter.

What we said for over two years, didn’t matter.

The only way to remedy this is to stop the linking and give us all the maps and let people have to make real life choices on what to save and what to let go.

“Coverage” a total joke. Most hours are covered – the small group or a single is totally out of the equation.

The point was to give larger servers the smaller servers to fight, not make mega servers out of tier 1 and watch the scores go wildly in a direction they haven’t until now.

The point was to give the larger servers competition, not stack them.

The point was to give smaller servers a chance to win against larger servers not all twos, not all pairs, but combinations that equaled (as closely as possible) the server, singluar, above it.

Anet, you got this one way wrong, even with so many of us trying to outline what was needed for equity it seems none of what we said or outlined happened at all.

Big clue: The sloppy removal of the parts of the barriers and paths was a sure sign that this was not thought through logically – it makes me wonder who the heck is writing the code and making decisions since “if” – “then” statements on any flow chart would show this was the worst way to go and is nothing like what we asked for.

And now we are being asked, again, here and in reddit for what is necessary for WvW, but how can you do any such thing when you have no way to really poll all of WvW?

Give us our game back.

Give us our servers back.

Stop the server linking.

And on a linked subject (pun intended) —Give us cross server chat on our own servers – which was put into the poll you are sending out in the absolute wrong category. That choice should have been in the other section ; so the poll was already not valid and strange for putting chat in that section.

I looked through this thread and I didn’t see a single WvW build that includes staff. Staff is amazing.

Another build type missing – Condi Druid – I know at least a good strong hybrid towards condi + damage mitigation is possible but I can’t find a single one.

I assume that ANET picked mastery point achievements to be things they want players to do. I main a single character. Armor and weapons that my class/race can not use are armor and weapons that I can’t use. The following mastery point achievements require me to acquire gear I can’t use:

The Emperor’s New Wardrobe: Soulbind 90 unique pieces of cultural armor.
There are 18 pieces I can use. For the other 72 I have to collect I’m the wrong race and/or class to use it. Four fifths of the armor skins are unusable by my character.

Ascended Accoutrement: Unlock these 18 crafted ascended armor skins in your wardrobe.
6 light armor skins. 6 medium armor. 6 heavy armor. Two thirds of the skins are skins I can not use.

Ambrite Weapon Collection: 16 weapons
Fractal Master: 19 weapons
No class uses all the weapons. Meaning all classes have some they can’t use.

I’d like to know why ANET wants people acquiring gear they can’t use.

Mastery is not for those who main a single character – period.

Anet has given us a “mastery” system that is all but impossible to get – and solo players can just about forget about getting help from Anet – it would take a guild of at least 500 posting in reddit daily to make them understand their lack of care for the game and this mess of a mastery system.

Hello and I am also posting this here; in the bug forum; I am missing 10 mastery points and I am currently hoping that the ANet folks are looking into this. I took 2-3 weeks for the forum mods to combine all the posts about this and then another 2 weeks for the first ANet person to post that they “might” be aware of it. I have and will continue to submit weekly bug reports; I would do it daily but that might seem offensive. I guess that the high volume of errors created by the release of HoT has put this one as a low priority. Central Tyria is the forgotten country now; and the 60+pages of problems in the shiny new areas and events are to be considered more important than this. I agree w/the above poster that it is a good idea for me to play less since I am very unimpressed w/the “expansion” and such. I could go on and on w/my feedback but it is mostly negative and I know that negative feedback is not welcomed by ANet. Sad that this is the new reality of the world.

I am now missing three mastery points.

Anet just told me, today, that this has never happened before.

Did they return the points?

Hmm. Apparently my post was merged here even though it was a completely different issue… I am missing my world completion Gifts of Exploration, not any mastery points. I guess they saw me mention “mastery point” and didn’t actually read my post.

I am now up to five items that have been wrongly counted (taken) from my account – maybe it’s a good thing you were accidentally posted in here.

Anet tells me this can’t happen, but it just happened to me three days or so ago.

The last three mastery points in Pact Commander are by achievement ONLY, so I did achievements until two out of three were lit.

Knowing I had ONE more mastery point to go, I watched carefully, because I know GW2 loses things and it has a penchant for losing things out of my account – this is the fifth thing taken wrongly from my account alone – so I know there are many others who are NOT watching their accounts as carefully but they aren’t getting these mastery points either.

This isn’t a glitch, this is a database calculation error. Period.

Here are the pics – first the stars, two out of three are lit.

Then, after the LAST mastery point they all reset to STILL needing three.

…And Anet has sent me 13 emails arguing instead of helping me get back those three mastery points I absolutely earned.

Please understand that I posted the pictures in the order they happened.

I had two out of three stars in Pact Commander LIT.

Now all three are back to being dark and I can’t even touch Pact Commander – it’s totally grayed out.

Severe FPS drop after 3/8 patch

I had perfectly fine performance before the patch, but now I am seeing ~10 FPS without any change in settings. It’s making it very hard to do anything involving jumping and is forcing me to somewhat button mash for combat since there seems to be a slight delay, which makes it hard for me to maneuver my thief around.

Somewhat random, in that I will occasionally get a session where it goes back to normal, but area transitions or use of waypoint travel can cause it to either start or stop occurring. May also have something to do with the particular computer boot up; I shut down over night, and on some days I can get it to stop by purposefully waypoint traveling while on others nothing will stop it.

I agree. Ping times aren’t telling much of anything, it’s like a sudden load not expected in most video cards just came out of nowhere dragging our “very adequate” video cards and even possibly memory right down into slow motion-ville.

TP insta-buy bug

This is a bug that happens to me kinda often, and really wasn’t that big of a deal as most purchases where very inexpensive items. This was a minor annoyance. Then while viewing expensive skins one was instantly purchased with near my entire wallet gone in an instant. I had no window for confirm the order. I clicked on it to view it opened the prices screen and a green window confirming my purchase was complete was instantly flashed on my screen. What do I do? does this happen to anyone else? I have submitted a bug report in game and have not heard anything yet, (been about 12 hours).

Confirm screens are used in many cases but protecting us from mis-clicks, not so much. I can’t tell you the times I have misclicked the wrong box when just trying to clear or turn off a “preview”.
