Its giant, its ugly and i almost cant focus on anything. I feel like im playing the wrong game, since there is a giant Flash symbol.
there was only 2 good matches all day and 1 of them was a everything go right match.
Abjured vs vermillion on temple
the other match was
Abjured vs 55 Rank Dragons on temple.
Ill say it again, the Abjured crush NA teams but with the current Abjured they are 1-2 in the WTS and that 1 came from the losers bracket. IMO they were lucky that OE was the only qualified one who could go to china.
You want a honest answer,
No one is playing PvP. High level players are playing 1-4 matches for dailies and they might be doing it in private servers.
I noticed a drop in players, too. But… probably not where you guys have. I’m an avid forumer. I pay attention to the speed at which topics and threads move, and for awhile now the forum has been going at a snails pace. It is the slowest that I’ve ever seen it, really.
Although I do have a theory about this. It isn’t so much a “HoT is bad” as much as it is a “HoT wasn’t good enough” theory. Here’s how it goes: the thing with advertising and hyping up an expansion pack is that it can be theoretically anything. It can be the worst thing to happen ever in the history of gaming, but in general people like to speculate about how awesome everything will become. Because of this, the era before the release of an expansion pack is one of the busiest times for an MMO. It is full of people speculating and preparing for stuff that might be fun, as well as those players who are getting a last hurrah out of a game that they will fear to change.
But, once an expansion pack is released, then the infinite possibilities built up by expectations all come crashing down into a singular reality. In this moment, you will loose players based not only on how good the expansion pack is, but how high their expectations were. It doesn’t matter if something is only a minor nuisance. If it isn’t awesome, its the worst thing since EA. So after the pre-pack surge, you’ll get a pack surge when people actually buy it, then you’ll get a dramatic fall off afterward.
I try not to follow hype. Im talking actual in game content. If i suggest a game to my friends or talk about it on FB it has to be good.
What happened for me was GW2 the core game was awesome. The story had cheesy voice acting but it was believable and had depth. The PvE content was awesome from jumping puzzles, vistas, World Bosses and chain events that effect the area. PvP was top notch and IMO the best PvP of any MMO.
GW2 HOT is exactly what you said, It isnt bad but it just not as good and didnt add much to the core game. We got new elite specs which have gotten mixed reviews from people across the board but as someone who mostly PvP it really pigeon toed everything.
I wont go into a full review of the game but simply put nothing got better. No one is saying HOT is bad, its just isnt something you say to your friends you have to play this game because your not missing anything if you dont.
Just because ele was in ESL doesnt make it good. Its like the old shout bunker guardian except when the guardian need to change it could. It could be burn, medi dps, and going back further it could be cele hammer.
Ele right now is a support only class and it is the only viable build for it.
Also you say that revanent is broken but it honestly might be the only class that isnt. It is literally the only class in the game that can perform well at dps or condi. Literally there is not another class who can mix and match all these traits, sigils, and runes to make it so 1 class can have 2 viable builds.
Like necro is a great class atm but really its best suited for 1 vs 1. If you run shouts with rune of the solider you are too squishy because there is no more tank runes. Abjured vs Vermillion we literally saw on the first match the ele from Vermillion get dropped in 1 sec. Seriously 1 sec!!!!!!!!!!
I run a bunch okittenward non meta builds and its harder and harder to do anything since the elite specs have so much stability, protection, smash 1 button and you are safe. Like staff rev swirling it around and for some odd reason no matter where you attack them from you cant hit them. Scrappers hammer 2 which reflects and then they can make a giant bubble, guardians F3 and so on and so on.
Ele is not in a good spot and to be honest even though i enjoyed the ESL production, the games were bad and the specs still make it for spamming skills as fast as they can pop up with no negative since you can spam another skill 3 secs later that does the same thing.
i disagree
There is no real sport were you are allowed double elimination. You are given your 3 or 5 potential games. If you lose you lose, no please let me try a different tactic after ive lost the series.
A few comments i would like to say on what i thought was bad and good.
Good
1) No losers bracket
I love this, never in playing a actual sport was there a ohhh we can come back after losing. I always felt if you wanted to be taken seriously you have to do that.
2) The EU commentators and the stage
The event just from watching it on twitch had a great feel and energy. These guys really get into it and you have to have passionate people on the your platforms if you want people to watch it.
Now the bad
1) you cant have a season then change the meta for the finals
I know the meta you guys set up was the first thing anyone has ever seen but you cant just switch it for a finals. We honestly dont know if these were the 4 best teams.
2) The series games and amount of teams
For me there has to be a build up like 1st and 2nd round best of 3 games and finals a best of 5. It leaves a little luck and alot of pressure onto each game especially when you are the better team. Which brings me to the amount of teams because 4? I want to see the best chinese team. I know if costs alot of money but when you see a tournament finals and the announcers start it off as semi finals teams at the start of it, it seems a little weak.
3) the trophy
OMG that thing was tiny
Otherwise i think the whole thing production wise was at its peak. The games were not very good except for maybe 2-3.
Lastly is anyone else counting the Abjured wins and losses in finals? Like they are 1-0 with OE and 1-2 without him?
i really really hate the fact that almost all the good builds look exactly the same and if im not mistaken all the teams had the same comp. I think PZ had a mesmer and Vermillion had a ranger but other then that 18 of the 20 are the exact same.
BTW why was there no chinese team?
yeah why is that?
they shouldn’t have a class restriction. Everyone saw what happened to the ranger and simply put Anet needs to focus on balancing the game because there is still a huge problem with build diversity.
Its amazing how we got this new meta yet most of the teams had almost the exact same builds. You go back to WTS boston where ORNG beat the Abjured, people were crying left and right about the Abjured builds from people in NA and then boom a group of players who could think outside the box from a team comp perspective.
We cant do that now because there is no balance in the game. Its play elite spec or die. Its play highest dps weapons whether is damage or condi or die. No build diversity at all.
I have to say the EU commentators are alot better then the NA guys. They get excited and go crazy over stuff where as the guys kind are just there.
I do like how they presented it, the matches overall were not very good but witht eh music and the way the EU commentators acted it made it feel alot more fun.
lmao, you want to make dailies into weeklies or monthlies? some people truly post for the benefit of the game huh, lmaooo
you do know we use to have dailies, weeklys and monthly right?
Before HOT came out i was always around the 850-950 on the leader board when it came to achievement points. I havent done many of the PvE achievement points and the new event stuff. Ive tried to join raids but every group i join fails and its a big blame game. I didnt enjoy the new WvW and PvP has been stale.
There is alot of people defending HOT and i agree that the PvE areas are amazing but for someone who plays all of the game and mostly sticks to PvP and WvW this expansion didnt do much for me. I for the last 2-3 weeks have been only doing dailies and started to play other games. Yet i am now at 756 on the AP leader board. Which means that the 200+ people who were always in front of me quit playing the game.
People will probably sit here and say ohhh we dont need them this game is great. Others will say whats not to like we got raids, PvP, WvW, updated bosses, this game is great.
I sit here in the middle since i love core GW2. Before HOT came out there were only a few things i didnt like and i loved the rest of it. Ive played alot hours with the new HOT and i just want to state like in my other posts that i didnt enjoy it but i didnt hate it. I hate the story of HOT, love the PvE area and gliders, i wished we had mounts, i wanted more PvP maps, fractals are what they are, WvW was destroyed, Guild halls look amazing but simply put they are huge toilets for mats and no one goes there.
Its just hard that this game was a game for a good 1-2 years when it came out that my guild loved this game and came on daily. Now with little patch updates, no new content, frustrating parts of the game such as bugs and unfulfilling story content and the biggest seperation of a player base that was already dwindling. Im just wondering if anyone else is noticing that the game seems to have less and less people playing it? And if you guys are just wondering if Anet is working on making the game fun again and not just for PvE players.
Cant rly rally on AP, i gave up on it since months before HoT cuz it doesnt impact on my gaming and i dont like most of daylis they offers :/
I mostly camp fractals and craft cuz nothing else to do and nothing of what i do has a place in that daylis board soo i dont force myself into activity i dislike for 10 AP
I miss old time when daylis was a monthly thing you could spend ur time on it then no need to worry till the next month
Ohh it was just weird to me that i was always around 850 in ap for the last year or so and now getting into the top 700. I mean it takes me 5 minutes since i grab what ever PvP daily winner is go into a game and win and then head out.
Yeah i miss having stuff to work towards like weeklys and monthlys. The problem was that alot of us were finishing the monthlys in 4 days.
I just wanted to bring some attention to this because it doesnt help with a overall population issue with the game but im just trying to address a situation with veteran players in the game.
For a MMO to me veteran players are the lifeforce of the game. Elite level PvP players give players new to the game and coming up are excited to see so called players. For instance when i started seeing Ostrich Eggs in PvP matches for solo and team que i was like this is awesome.
In WvW when certain commanders could take towers and keeps and we were vastly out numbered i was like i will follow this guy any day. This goes the same for PvE maps that take coordination for a understand of the map i do not know.
When im in TS with some of my guild mates, we run into PvP players who tell people how to rotate and we are like thats wrong, no you cant grab beast there, nope thats a bunker and should left a bunker to fight it instead of trying to 2 vs 1 it with stillness and trang up, etc etc. We can see it across the game where the commanders taggin up are inexperienced and the mentors who tag are kind of a joke.
I wasnt trying to say that because of MY AP points the game is dying but instead saying the veteran players of the game are not playing anymore. Lord helseth posted a PvP video of him trolling because the players in his PvP match were no where near his level and was sitting back wondering how much a waste of time it was for him to be playing these people.
Pointing out that with HOT expansion that there is still nothing for veteran players to do to me shows they failed in the design of end game content for the serious players of the game.
before HOT it was pretty close to a ideal meta.
0% ranger representation in tournaments for years? Auto-lose if you have more than 1 thief OR mesmer on your team? Guess you played ele…
The meta changes. Ideally all professions are allowed to participate. Elite specs are obviously power creep, but maybe we’re heading to a point where all professions are allowed to play.
A few teams had a ranger. The team i was on at the end there had a ranger. Also right at end on 1 of the ESL tournaments a team had 2 power rangers in the finals and the abjured countered it by going with 2 engys.
What’s funny about those trials is that the Exhalted are testing the player to see if they’re worthy to enter the city and place the eggy on the special eggy platform – but are the Exhalted worthy to receive my egg? Let’s not forget who’s the egg bearer here. I decide what happens with my egg. I don’t see them doing any trials to prove to me that they’re the good guys. Sure, they’re shiny. But for all I know, the Exhalted are some cult of floaty shiny dudes and sooner or later there’s going to be a sacrificin’.
lol the entire story doesnt make sense. I was like ok i past the trials and i just give you the egg? Then my gullible character just does it. I was like i hope they take my glider and tell me to jump off the cliff next because my character would of just done it without thinking.
I just saw they are getting rid of more amulets because they dont like the direction the amulet pushes game play.
Can someone tell me who played other Esports games or high competitive online team games if this is how things are done. I dont understand why removing amulets balances the game.
They release GW2 and change a ton of stuff and right before HOT it was pretty close to a ideal meta.
You had d/d ele best all around build, staff ele best bunker ele build, a conjure ele (before the nerfs) who could beat d/d ele and gave great team weapons.
Bunker shout guardian, dps medi guardian and burn guardian
MM necro and signet necro
Dps gs/hammer warrior and shoutbow warrior
Heck i even saw bunker thieves and of course the dps thieves
Does anyone else notice that we have none of that? In season 1 of PvP everyone knew what they were facing when the pressed B and saw the classes they were facing. 95% of the time you knew what you were facing and they make post about amulets. We played a entire meta of bunkers and revs and im frustrated with those comments.
I dont go on reddit and i have them on my facebook but there is never a talk about build diversity and talks about classes having the ability for different play styles or counters to another class. GW2 core game is so spot on and the game play is awesome but everything just feels cheap since the HOT release.
Ele could carry in season 1 by literary tanking 1v2 even 1v3 (i have seen it plenty of times) thus causing 4v2 somewhere else. Given it was with combination of amy, various ways of dmg reduction and heals but if 1 trait forces you to bring 2 players there IS something wrong. 100% hardcounters are bad. Old DS implementation was bad. Period.
And just fyi, devs took advises from pro league players for balancing patch.
No it couldnt,
If you want to say that about bad players well guess what in season 1 i had a guild member watch win a 1 vs 2 on my warrior. Please tell me that warrior is op because that happened.
Ele lost its place in ESL because revs did enough damage on power build to kill a ele 1 vs 1 and condi rev could quickly burst them down in team fights. Ele was actually the first class to lose its place in the season followed by DH and necro.
Complaining about eles abilities in healing and etc must of forgotten that necros have 2 life bars, druids have cele form and engy can literally go from 25% health to 100% in about 3 sec. Ele were on par with other classes when it had cele amulet and it was simply posted by the op that the heavy majority of the people on the forum simply cry things into nerf.
ESL is played by extreme minority of the player base. Is this game balanced for handful of players or for actual player base? Turret engis were never ESL material but they were too rewarding in your daily ranked, carried bad players and got nerfed eventually (which was a good thing).
Eles are not in bad place right now, imo. Yes reaper is strong, so is scrapper. Those classes got buffs and/or didn’t get nerfs they should have last balancing patch. However it is not ele issue but rather devs bad decisions in regard of these classes. This game’s pvp got really bad because of increasing power creep every patch. The nerfs are not pleasing thing but they need to happen (for pretty much every elite and most classes) if pvp is to become fun and make sense again.
P.S. eles were on par with other classes? Really? Tell it to thieves and wars, tell it to bunker guards, tell it to shatter mes, tell it to every non-druid ranger~
Yes ele was on par with the elite specs and could be used as a meta build in solo play. Helseth played a shatter build during the season, bunker gaurd isnt a thing anymore and so are non druid rangers. Toker, caed and i saw impact alot during the season but there were less eles during season as the ESL meta took over alot ranked matches in PvP.
Also yeah they killed turret engy to the point that turrets are useless every where in the game which is not a good. Killing builds should never be considered a good thing. No spirit rangers, traps, shouts, basically everyone ran glyphs.
So forth and so forth, people for a long time complained about D/D ele and it got nerfed at the very end. To the point burn dmg is alot lower which is fine byt now d/d isnt a good build anymore. People complaing for nerfs when anet knew good and well what they were doing in the expansion was a way for them to say hey we gave the forum crowd what they want and now we have less and less to play then before.

Before HOT came out i was always around the 850-950 on the leader board when it came to achievement points.
I wouldn’t use AP as a benchmark for the game’s popularity.
Im just asking the question. For 3 + years the same people were above me and i was friends with a few people who were above me before i made the top 1k. They would just take breaks for 2-3 months and i was ahead of them by simply doing dailies.
This is also coming from a point i havent dont the new content because it just feels very repetitive and im not sure how to get some of them. Ill show some pictures, you can agree or disagree but ive jumped up crazy high on the leaderboard by only doing dailies.

I want to agree with you but there is way to much stuff to say about this.
1- BnS is new and people want to check it out and see if its fun.
2- For many players there is nothing to do for PvP players since there is no season, no new reward tracks, no new game modes, and after X amount of games there is nothing for them to reach for. Another big complaint i have is once again people reaching dragon rank way to easily. Alot of new players coming into the game get to 80 in 3-4 months of casual play. When GW2 first came out i got to 55 before the major patch which boosted everyone 80.
3- Which bring me to another thing. Anet really hasnt brought anything for the PvP community.( you can say the same thing for the WvW) They boosted everyone to 80 years ago and for many of us who have all the PvP titles besides maybe 1, what is there for us to do? You bring PvP seasons in which is great but i got to legendary 2 and once i get to diamond this season there will be no reason for me to keep going.
4- Rewards, this is a huge thing. Many PvP players say who needs them but for alot of us who play all aspect of the game there is no reason to play PvP other then dailies. Another issues Anet hasnt addressed but i assume "if you play PvP, you play PvE’ comment by the GW2 bosses explains alot.
All in all i am trying to point out that there is literally no reason for many players to play PvP right now. It is becoming a struggle for alot of people just to log in because once you explored the PvE areas you either decide i like this area and farm it or dont. You either like the new WvW area or you dont and PvP has stayed the exact same so you either want casually play it right now or dont. If it wasnt for dailies i probably wouldnt even log in right now.
Removing class stacking makes this game way easier to balance and more fun to play. Facing 3 necros, druid and scrapper isn’t fun.
What are you talking about? If we are talking ESL before HOT most teams had a different class. People were complaining about cele amulet. In HOT before ESL came out people were complaining about dh.
And now we have people talking about class stacking with necros? Really the class with limited mobility, blocks, evades and doesnt have insta kill moves?
The team you literally put up are all fight in the circle players basically besides the ranger.
Want 2 buy 2 DH, 1 power hammer rev, 1 thief and druid to light up the team you are crying about.
If you dont want to play those 3 classes i suggest revanent. Rev imo is still a top player for 1 vs 1 and team fights.
While the individual concepts are still generally there, often times one class is now simply better at doing a certain role than every other class.
This problem has always existed and will always exist. Nostalgia aside, given multiple different ways to do something, one of those ways will invariably be better than the others.
This is why balancing asynchronous classes is a impossibility.
This was very close though pre HOT. There were support eles/ warriors/guardians.
The best 1 vs 1 classes could be anyone depending on the class match up. Dps warrior beat a necro yet a necro beat just about everything else. yet if a necro was caught running from 1 point to another and didnt see the mesmer/thief coming it could easily be taken out.
If you look at the ESL matches right before HOT came out as well 1 team ran 2 power rangers with 2 d/d eles and a thief. The abjured countered it with 2 engys.
If Esports wanted to make it as fair as possible, instead of saying no class stacking they could just ask anet to balance the game and say no class switching during a tournament.
Why not target the warrior first? This is a glass warrior so he will insta die from a Glass what ever just as fast. I really dont understand the gripe with it?
Atm this is a power time in all phases of the game. Raids are about most dps and condi damage as mast as possible. PvP is about who lands the big hit first and WvW is the same. You either adapt to the new play styles or die off. If this warrior steps into DH trap he dies. Once again no counter, if he gets back stabbed by a thief and heart seekered he dies. Its not a warrior thing.
Its funny that this comes up again. When Apex kicked OE out you had Pro players coming out that OE was hard to work with and etc etc. This though is the exact same thing to me.
Its hard for me to deal with things like this and we call Esports but nothing about is sports like. Everyone just picks up/kicks who ever they want when they want and know one can really argue it. I said it before that it just seems that most of the people who are in this game and want to play it for money are kids. Its why you see alot of different NA teams with the same exact people playing, there is no sense of team and its hard to take this game seriously when the patches are the way they are and when the PRO scene looks like this and its happened over and over and over……………………………..
I am having sucess overall.. the only fight I am losing are against 2 DH
LOL you can not say this, i saw you in a match and i was impressed since you timed your defiant stance really nice but you lost a 1 vs 1 to my teams necro and DH. I was playing warrior and it was a close fight between us but a thief from my team came in and downed you instantly but you can not honestly say this.
If it was this week end then it was my ping. I usually play with 140 ping on weekends there is not much I can do. But on weekday it’s a different story. So I stand by my words.
Thats funny because i play with 140 ping on a good day and most of the people in my guild have around a 150 ping. There are some who have a great ping and run around 70-80 but i have actually never heard someone say 140 ping was bad.
I am having sucess overall.. the only fight I am losing are against 2 DH

I’ve gotten about 7 boxes since HoT. 2 from the Tybalt reward tracks that were released a little while ago.
Ironically PvP gives more ascended box drops than fractals.
Wow lucky,
I play all of the game and i havent gotten anything from PvP or fractals since the HOT release. I dont fractal often but when i do, i see other people get ascended.
A few things
1- If rangers pets didnt do this much dmg they wouldnt be viable. They are already have stalemates with scrappers and necros. They are less useful in team fights since the pet dies and they are therefore are not as good.
2- Scrapper is very difficult to kill in 1 vs 1 situations and they give alot of support. They do not change the outcome of fights though. They are the above average at everything class atm so maybe something should be done about this.
3- its the way of the future and we cant go back now, but boy i wish we could.
4- Dh couldnt make a impact on last season because of condi heavy teams and ele aura shares. 1 is gone but condi rev and necro still put them in line. They will dominate bad players and be average-good for top level play. To me they are in a really good spot.
5- i have no real comment about it, ill go with what you said.
I comment because everyone and their mother says DH OP, druid Pets OP, Necro OP, Engy Hammer OP, ummmmmm if all of these are op they should be pretty equal in combat and they actually are. Mesmer with there F5 for double moa or double time warp and thieves have a spot on teams. Warriors and Eles are the only 2 classes kind of falling behind the pack in the current meta imo.
NOOOOOOO i didnt trait for physical skills, im doomed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ladies and Jets i will sum it up,
L2P against DH
you underestimate condi’s power
Just to clarify,
I’m not here to complain about gunzerkers or to ask for advice in dealing with them. The purpose of the thread was to say that as guardian, i believe gunflame berserker is a great counter to DH, particularly trap heavy DH (especially one that runs dragon’s maw over renewed focus). I’ve even made a gunflame zerker and made a sport of hunting down other DHs since i think it’s kind of fun.
But since i only recently made a warrior, i wanted to ask warrior mains if they also considered a glass canon gunflame berserker to be a DH counter, and if yes, why they didn’t think this affected the perception of warrior as a low tier pvp class.
Well let me clarify,
Ive tried the strength gun flame build with arms going 2-2-1 and arms 2-2-2. Ive tried arms 2-2-2 with discipline 1-3-3. Of course anyone running defective full trap builds will get crushed especially in a new meta were dps/condi dmg is at a high.
When facing a actual good DH this will not be the case. They will do the things i said in my previous post. Simply put this gun flame build is a bit gimmicky and a 1 trick pony. It can only be successful against players running around casually going threw the motions. When you play against people who take it some what competitively and know what to do, this build will fall.
Also side note, DH will probably be in competitive team comps with thieves and mesmer back for team options.
Anet if you guys want this game to be esports it’s time to let conquest go. Not only the balancing is horrible but this game has the worse game mode for esports also which doesn’t help with the balance at all. Time to get a piece of paper and start from scratch.
Please stop,
If you want to complain about balancing, patching, bugs, and a few other things thats fine. Conquest is a great system and imo mobas are lame.
Would i like to see other type of game modes for fun? Of course but conquest has the most layers of any type of PvP.
Where to rotate, are people counting heads(the guy who leaves mid to run far and theres already 2 people killing 1 and still jumps in) are you targeting, do players builds complement each other, do you fight in the circle, do you fight outside the circle?
Conquest is the closest thing to a real sport when it comes to a video game because you have the ability to create a shaq type of player who dominates in the circle or to play from the outside like a steph curry. Its probably really hard for games and casual players because everyone wants to see the stats/bars/numbers so they can crunch.
PLease though if you dont like conquest then dont play it because i refuse for death matches and mobas to be the only way to play PvP in games.
Well said, conquest has a simplicity in its rules but depth in its tactics. Like the best games.
However I would like to see other game types. Don’t see why they can’t use the current maps for a DM mode just for example.
I would agree, Conquest is a “stand on the point” game mode which honestly isn’t a good fit for esports. It promotes people playing the tankiest builds available and nothing will change that as that is what the game mode promotes. Unlike other games where varieties of class types are favored due to differing roles in taking objectives this one is just “stand on the point”.
The way its done in GW2 is not a ‘stand on your point’ mode. Its a rotation mode.
Conquest is really like a actual sport.
Think about it, at ages 5-10 kids who play basketball or soccer tend to follow the ball or run to the player with the ball.
The middle school and you start learning the actual game and then high school where talent really starts becoming a factor and so forth and so forth.
People who talk about sitting on points really dont have a clue about the game. Its like the guy cherry picking in basketball, he sits back trying to get a easy lay up after every basket and in theory its great but it never really works.
I was on 3 AG teams and none of them worked. The 2nd team i was on wanted to play 2 turret engys, a shout bow warrior, a mesmer with portal and a thief. They wanted to play only 2 points because in theory we should dominate these 2 points the entire time. Crazy thing happened it didnt work and 2 people sat there kind of pointing the finger but not really saying it and suggestions were not taken.
Its funny how people want to simplify the game but small things create different impacts on a game. For instance the WTS with ORNG and The Abjured when ORNG won it.
You dont think the Abjured spent alot of time thinking of counter builds to what there potential team comp was? Simply put what makes conquest so hard is everyone has a different opinion on how to win and therefore you get the clashes and the uninformed saying they know it all.
So there is a few things you can do. If your a old school burn/shout bunker guard you can run shelter and renewed focus. This with aegis helps and so forth. You then get another 3 blocks with focus and with shield can make it so anyone fighting near you cant be hit by it.
If your running DH then you can pull the warrior into traps and the fight therefore forcing them to use there stun break and warrior is easily focus down. Once again you have renewed shelter if you want with focus another 3 block and now the F3.
Also if you have a warrior fighting outside the point your mesmer/ thief should be targeting him so they are not free casting. Also if the warrior hits you for 15k it means 2 things.
1- He running strength- arms- beserker spec which means low sustain and no condi clear.
2- Someone had to be hit by the first gun flame. If your team is just eating gun flame shots thats a L2P issue.
Also you shouldnt be looking to see if they are using rifle but what signets. If they are running 4 signets it means they are super squishy. If they are running 3, it means they chose might or precision. If they chose might you are looking to dodge the second you see the signet go away even if you are blocking. If they chose precision and you see it go away its time to dodge or block.
The reason why its not considered a OP build is because revanent power hammer is better. DH is better and Ranger longbow is better not because of there damage but because of the other things they bring to the table.
why do people cry about rangers pets why druids and necros are kind of in a stalemate in 1 vs 1?
Thief is back to being the plus 1 and mesmer has double moa if im not mistaken. Are you kidding me?
Ele meh? what does this mean and warrior has always does dmg but warrior condi dmg is quick bursts and is easily removed if the other player knows its coming.
It was week 2 i think right before caed left vs final form i think and MT beat muffins in a 1 vs 1, thief vs rev.
You have to understand kdaddy that sometimes balancing just isn’t possible in a way that class stacking would be worse than bringing more variety and playing 5 different classes.
your right what was i thinking, next lets just make it so people cant use staff on thieves because we dont want to balance it. Good luck next year mesmers because you cant apply conditions anymore since it was unfair.
If me and my guild want to play 5 ranger premade with 1 traps, 1 shouts, 2 glyphs and bunker we should have the option. This is a 5 vs 5 and if this game wants to be ESPORTS maybe it should actually act like it.
Maybe i dont know the Esports and kids who want to be competitive on a game but last time i checked the NBA didnt stop the Warriors from playing 5 guys 6" 8 and under. They didnt say you have to play someone in the post. The NBA didnt stop the lakers in the 80s and said hey you have to shoot a bunch of 3’s.
Of course though in this game and other imbalanced games you cant stack classes because of the imbalanced of it all. You can say they are balanced but if they dont allow stacking then obviously putting 1-2-3 of a certain type of class in the match gives a advantage to the other team and then the game isnt based on skill or luck but who had the most of X class.
An incredibly subjective and bias point of view. It’s as if you were part of a team who just lost their main class stacking team comp.
Mobas don’t allow stacked classes, the change does strengthen Conquest balances and it promotes class diversity. I’m all for it.
This doesnt make the game any different. For a team like the abjured who already ran 1 necro, 1 thief, 1 ele, 1 rev, and 1 engy. You look at ORNG before HOT who ran 1 guardian, 1 warrior, 1 thief, 1 mesmer, and 1 ele.
The best teams in the game already had class diversity, the only reason it doesnt now is because the game isnt balanced. Its like some really ignorant joke where people are saying OHHHHH heres a huge problem lets make bad rules for it.
Sitting here talking about mobas, some of us came to a game like this from wow, champions online etc etc etc because it was open combat and not a moba and now you use moba rules to say its a good idea? When they literally have hundreds of heros.
Making terrible rules and stipulations to fix a balance problem is like putting duck tape over your broken window and poking holes threw and saying we have air conditioning.
warrior dmg is far superior than thief. the balance patch didnt changed that, thief got more burst but warrior does more dmg overall. Warriors are in good spot atm not on the future nerf bat and not in the out of meta spot.
If you read my original post on the 1 vs 1 aspect of it yeah warrior can beat a thief but thats not gonna be a actual role on teams. If you make a 1 vs 1 warrior can you beat a ranger/necro or rev of equal skill level? Answer is no
Also being on that list of classes that wont get nerfed what does that mean? This game has pumped 1 class and killed another and all i simply want is multiple classes having multiple options to play at a high level.
For instance before HOT and right before the conjure weapons nerf i was in the AG tourney and the team was on had a ele who used staff with the shield/frostbow/fiery great sword weapons. I played staff ele with cantrips and we did great. This is when the OP D/D ele was still there and we were able to overcome it.
You didnt have that last PvP season when playing non meta builds. This season will be different but saying wait for the nerfs of other classes isnt what i truly want. Warrior and other classes need to have multiple working builds that dont have to be OP but capable of having a impact on the game.
But it will happen and that is how anet works so nothing to do about it but to sit and wait. Like I said warrior is still in better spot than other classes saying you cant beat necro on ewual skill on point is false since CC zerk warrior can and just look at thief that can do nothing alone againstm ost of the classes and bound to +1.
Who are you playing because this is not true. Magic toker and caed during the last PvP season and in the ESL leagues won 1 vs 1 vs bunker mesmer/revanent/ and DH.
Once again if you read my previous post if your playing a zerk warrior how does it compare vs other zerk builds? Im sorry but maybe a bad necro loses to a zerk warrior which is why we saw so many to counter the necros in the ESL league, oh wait they were not there.
Maybe im wrong but with the boost to necros and thieves and these classes were already really good in the hands of really good players only got stronger and you keep saying warrior counters necro when its simply not true and watching the necro streamers of the game show it.

LOL helseth does the best post game analysts commentary.
Esl has a rule now where each team has to have 5 different classes in a team. This should be the way in matchmaking also. Official tournament rules should apply to the ranked arena if the goal is to get more competitive teams.
It’s no use to play for example with 2 same professions in a team if you can’t play that in a tournament and it’s not fair for teams that use 5 different professions to face multiple same professions on the enemy team.
The reason to apply this to the ranked arena is that 5 different professions is a good thing and makes this game way more balanced. It also makes balancing much easier.
Also swapping professions after the queue is over should not be a thing.
i disagree and if this is a real ESL thing Anet should be embarrassed.
Its so bad that now you have to play a different class on a 5 man team and there is only 9 classes. Seriously just balance the game, before HOT you saw in the ESL league 2 ranger teams with 2 ele and a thief. On EU you saw the 1 of each class against power heavy teams of ele.
The best tournament to have watched was the WTS where ORNG beat the Abjured. We cant get that now because of the huge imbalance of the game. Seriously quit asking for dumb things like 1 each class in ranked when you simply should be asking for a balanced PvP.
its not OP since banners were gutted since they remove the banner trait that everyone was using.
and they did not even bother to explain why they removed it.
they just removed it.
dead silence.
Anet nerfs anything they dont want to be decent for PvP.
D/D ele super OP so anet nerfs conjure weapons…….. ok
Warriors do alot of dps and bad players suck at actually thinking so they demand rampage nerf, so anet nerfs rampage so now warrior dps build is not very good. Next step to destroying warrior is shout heals. Mission complete warrior nerfed to the ground so revanent can take its place.
I mean we could go threw every class but its like Anet is like selling trips to detroit and you dont want it but its still given to you and you have to go but you dont know why.

What are you trying to say?
LOL nice,
when we upgraded the WvW room we were like there is nothing in here. I guess you filled it up.
Anet barely cares about pve. Every class has had 1 maybe 2 viable weapon choices in pve since launch.
I agree with most of what you’re saying though
i say that because anet balances around PvE more because PvP and WvW are so different from it. Maybe im assuming to much but i just feel that way after the comments they have had made about PvP and WvW when it comes to game play.
Ok anet when will the warrior get anything?
You increased base dmg for warrior when revs/thieves/ and now druids do more dps base damage. How can we even compete when revs have 2 heals? Thieves have invisibility and shadow step to get away? Druids have cele form which means warrior has to do enough damage to take them down before they use it or sustain enough to get them down twice.
You gave us alot of condi dmg but the majority comes from being in beserk mode. Rev just smashes button and boom 5-6 stacks of torment/chill/psn and mesmers are now playing bunker passive condi and with warriors single target attacks it becomes very difficult to land these big burst hits when mesmer can go invulnerable/distortion/blink away. All the while going invisible and stacking 1-3 confusion/burn/bleed and its constant.
Who is warrior suppose to beat? What is its role in team fights when literally every other class fills a role better and its not just one class but its 2-3 classes better at support/dps/bunker/free lancing/ group fights/ 1 vs 1 fights/ and i sit here wondering what to do.
I feel like Ele is in this same spot but it has 2 decent builds imo but this class has been forced into shouts but warrior doesnt even have stat. Warrior has been forced into stances and its not even that good.
The rage skills have to be the worst skills in the game as well, for PvP and WvW and i know Anet cares far more for PvE but really? Really these skills have limited range, can easily be side stepped and the heal skill alone makes me wonder if the warrior should still be a class in PvP.
At some point will warrior get anything useful for PvP?
We are supposed to beat necros and idk who you ve been playing against but ele are pretty strong atm, bunker fresh aire condi ele at least. But you do have some great point; herr is a thing though we can counter any class granted with have the appropriate build.
I have not seen any good fresh air ele so far, though the people i play with we target ele first in matches to see if they are bunkers.
Also when the people i play with were build crafting we were not building x class to counter. I try to create the best condi warrior/rev/thief/ for 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 and we go at it. Obviously there are match ups based on build that will allow a warrior to win based on build and style of play but when we did 1 vs 1 condi necro vs condi warrior warrior lost, same with rev and thief and ranger. Just my opinion though.
