I would assume that they actually take time and make sure it actually works correct before implementing it since it technically have to do with actual real money and as such a big bug in there would hurt both them and the players quite a bit.
The feature they want to add is something that has been in the game since release.

Because it’s another checklist you can work on, some people including myself enjoy that. And ~1kish runs arent that much considering that this game has been out for almost 2 years.
I also really like how this achievement kinda forces you to at least consider playing PvP because not only do you get 3 weapons + 1 armor but you also get tokens, transmutation charges and leveling tomes.
I dont think this game is a money grab. Compared to most game developers, Anet is one of the least aggressive with monetization.
Mobile gaming developers are the most notorious.
This game doesn’t cost us any monthly fees nor does it promote sleazy pay to play schemes. Yet it delivers one of the best PVP systems I’ve seen, WVW and new content.
I have never seen a game that gets weekly itemshop updates in the way GW2 does.
The Mad King that visits Tyria in Halloween has always been played as comic relief. A figure of fun, totally cooky, sadist-as-humor character.
Having spent a bit of time in the Labyrinth recently, it’s struck me how much the Mad King/Bloody Prince repartee plays violence against women as a joke.
Does this make anyone else uncomfortable?
(I’m kind of hoping that bringing this to anet’s attention will encourage them to actually update the Halloween content/storyline rather than rolling out the same misogynistic stuff year on year…)

In a player driven economy, the demand of an item surpassing the supply generated by the playerbase will increase the value of it. While there are some items in these bags that are not based around cosmetics (the low drop rate of T6 mats), the price of these bags is directly relative to the cosmetic value that is being placed on them. While currently profitable, that profit is derrived directly from other players and their willingness to play a higher price. In essence, this is a transfer of wealth not wealth generation.
As far as this specific spawn of ambients is concerned, it’s definatly one of the faster ones to farm. As long as the playerbase is willing to pay for that item, and the demand remains higher than the supply, it will be profitable. This is not an exploit, it’s the playerbase saying “thank you for farming this, because we didn’t want to”.
Then what is an exploit? Was the repeatable storymission with rewards an exploit? Apparently failing events on purpose isn’t an exploit either. It’s really hard to figure out what an exploit is in this game. Because that farm is “too good to be true” ,most of my guildmembers considered it to be an exploit and it gives me as a player who haven’t completed the story an unfair advantage over other players.
Also GW2’s PvP takes lots of skills and strategy so it’s appropriate for E-sport genre.
This is why I support it becoming E-Sport… We need games with combat like this.
Yes it does but it also lacks updates to make it more interessting, especially balance update that shake up the meta. Watching the same team comps with the same builds for months is really really boring.

I don’t have it, and I played some PvP. I think it’s a good thing to keep it pvp exclusive. A good way of reintroducing it would be a tribal reward track with an armor piece at the end of the track and tribal weapons as the weaponskins.
It’s the most fundamental problem with GW2 as a whole (in my opinion): you can’t just go out and farm the things you need to make the special weapons. Take Legendaries for example. In MMOs there have always been two ways to create an item like a Legendary:
1) Easy way: For the rich players, make it quickly by simply buying everything you need. Or if you’re very rich, just buy the item out-right.
I’m pretty sure in WoW for example you always had to do a raid or something to get a piece for your legendary item.
Seriously, with no mention of possible future expansions, if we have to confront each and every dragon through the Living World, how long do you think it will take for us to kill all of the Elder Dragons?
We’re already past the second year mark and we’re not that close to killing Mordy. I mean, 4 Living World content patches gave us the tiny zone of Dry Top…. Will it take 3 years per dragon? Cause if that’s the case that will string this games life out to oh, 15 years at that pace. Heck, WoW is on it’s 10th year now and they’re losing a lot of subscribers. Do you think this game will still be alive by the time we get to slay each dragon?
The question is, will we kill all dragons? I can see a plot twist happen where we actually realize that their cycles are crucial for tyria.
Games and especially gambling in them is still quite a new thing so it will take a while until older people catch up. I would expect to see laws in a few years.
I guess that’s why A.Net is so aggressive about it. They try to exploit it as long as there are no regulations. There is imo a good reason why gambling is restricted in so many countries
Gambling is serious business , it could cause addiction, you could lose a fortune etc. It is illegal in many country for anyone who isn’t 18 year old yet. Now, the law’s definiton of gambling in my country is: Every game counts as gambling, where the player in exchange of money or any valuable possessions, under certain circumstances he has a chance to win money, or other valuable prizes. Winning or losing depends solely or predominantly on luck.
Now we all know in the black lion chests you could win items of different value, and with the gem/gold conversion we can even tell how much does an item worth in real money, also it depends purely on luck what you win. Also black lion keys main source is the gem store, you can buy them with gold , but you also can buy them with real money .
I’m not in law school, therefore I don’t really know what fall under the category of gambling and I hope someone here knows. But for me the keys feels like they are gambling and at least should be restricted to 18+.

But rank == experience. Someone who has rank 80 at least knows the basics of PvP. Fighting against rank 80s as a rank 20 was frustrating as hell because some of those players really knew how to play their class.
Just have an in-game message flash across the screen, or an in-game mail or something! Come on!

I’d fully expand my account to its maximum. 8-10 character slots, all bag slots for each character, full bank tabs + maxed out guild storage, full makeover for every character, and then I’ll get my materials for my legendary and ascended gear for my main and my other two female humans if anything is left.
Is there a way to refund badges of honor for items i bought accidentally? The first page of armor is soldier’s armor, and I keep buying them without looking. Wasted 385 badges of honor, and it’s annoying me when I have to remake the badges lost.
It looks like this Halloween going to be about the lich so we may just end up with a new dungeon or a “lich afied” version of the dungeon. Note: i know nothing about the lich from GW1.
The patchname for the halloween update has the same name as last years halloween “Blood and Madness” so don’t expect new content.
