Disappointing from arenanet.
Well, I believe its description clearly states “Soulbound on Acquire” or “Soulbound”, in other words “tied to that character”.
(edited by shadow.6174)
I mean reward chest on the ground. Not the pop up at the side.
I have opened my inventory before getting anywhere near it to see if I loot anything and I do not. The animation of the chest does not change either. Its been happening less but it sadly still happens.
That’s sad and weird. Still the question remains: do you see the chest already opened when battle is over? Or no chest at all? Or do you get close to it and interact with it but nothing happens?
Do you mean that chest on ground after world boss fights? Do you see them already opened, or don’t you see them at all? Do you have the last Pact Mastery unlocked? Are you used to grab loot through keystroke commands (AoE loot, etc)? With this last you won’t be able to open chests, Loot keystroke commands only loot from mobs, not chests. How can you tell that you are getting nothing from chests?
Also, silly but if you don’t see any chest at all: have you already done that boss during the same day? World boss chests are only available once a day.
Mind my questions, just basic troubleshooting

I’ll try removing and readding. It’s a strange thing.
I’m 100% that both numbers are him, its just really quite odd lol.
Both of our accounts were pre order CE accounts so it couldnt be a free account issue.
This can happen when you link accounts together f.ex. I had a different 4 digit suffix in the betas than I have now…. this changed when gw1 account was linked and/or pre-purchase key was changed to retail key. Not sure if it happened again when I added HoT key as I wasn’t paying attention, their system may also have changed since launch.
That’s possible and probably what happened to me at the time I mentioned above. I first created my account during a trial weekend and then purchased it later. Possibly the system made two accounts for me and then linked them both when I activated the paid one.
Something like that has happened to me long time ago. When I first started in the game, I created my account during a free weekend trial and then months later I purchased the game. When I did so the game would flick my name with 2 different numbers. When I would be online it would show .6174 (my current as you see in here), but when going offline in Friends panel it would show something else. Also, friends had some hard time adding me because of that. I can’t recall exactly what I did to get rid of it though :S
A suggestion I could give is removing him from your list and you from theirs, then asking him to readd you. He will be in your Followers list then you readd him from there. I belive that was something like that that helped me to get rid of that glitch.
I’m not sure adding color to the background would help those that come to the forums and state, ‘I see the message about this being from another player, but….’.
If it is a new player, how would it help? Unless every player was sent an ‘Official’ mail, and forced to open it, and read it. It’s a bit like the ToS players are expected to read before agreeing to….some do, and some do not.
One would think the very fact that the link can not be ‘clicked’, when the mail expressly directs one to do so, would be a clue….
I know I took a while to reply but I have seen this only now. Well, the thing is what type of mail do the player receive more? Mails from players or in-game mails, or official mails from Anet team or gem store related mails? Mostly the former and my suggestion was using a different style for the latter. In fact, a player would get used that regular mails has nothing different, but for the first time they get an official email (gem store purchase or even a welcome mail [why not?]) they would notice this one is different from the usual. I just had thrown an idea anyway.
Now for those posting screenshoots here: just an advice I believe it would be a good practice to blur or hide the Sender’s name from those screenshoots. It’s because possibly that player isn’t even aware that account is being used for that, it could be a stolen account and it could bad mouth that player and cause troubles to them in the event they got their account back.
As your proposing a fix to a problem that only occurs with problematic hardware at a user level, I wouldn’t expect devs to put any sort of priority on this.
Hmm, I don’t think they were proposing a fix for “disconnects” and stuff, but a way within game to manage when emergency happens instead. Also, disconnects aren’t always a matter of “problematic hardware”, at times the issue is out of user’s control.
Anyway, back on topic, although I don’t play WvW that much even less with organized squads and stuff I liked the idea. It would make all sense to have a mechanism to pick up a substitute in case any emergency happens (disconnects, comm needs to leave, RL stepping in etc).
Also in this case, maybe this thread would fit more in the Discussions forum than Bugs forum though.
The percentage is based on the amount of data being downloaded during that section. Per example, if you close the launcher when the download is at 15%, when you run it again it will restart the download from where it left, but the status will start at 0% again but this percentage is based on how much data is left, not account what was already downloaded.
Bump Same issue, is there a fix? Any dev response?
Nop, nothing so far. Still annoying :/ Got it even while within SAB.
Skills:
Healing: Enchanted Spear: summon a spear to throw at nearby allies. Their health loss is transferred to you as a health gain.
Utility one: Not Phased by Demons: using this skill causes you to lose aggro and transfers it to nearest ally. If more than one ally is near, the aggro goes to the one with the lowest health.
Utility two: Quick riposte: If an ally asks you for help, you tell tell them you are blind and can’t help them no more. Steal a boon from that ally.
Utility three: Impossible Odds (for you, not me): at 10% health you feign death. Transfer agro of all mobs to someone nearby who was trying to help you. When they die gain 100% health and teleport somewhere safe,
Elite Skill: I Deserve This: Steal all boons, loot, XP and karma from nearby allies. Automatically ping in map chat all the loot you got.
Wow, how selfish skills :P I laughed at them though.
@Gaile: LOL, I loved the reference :P
Profession Skills
Chronomancer
- Portal’s recharge has been removed, and the colors of the effects have been changed to blue and orange.
And you has got me there. At first I was like “what with Part 2” and then when I saw Profession Skills I went directly to Chronomancer, I laughed at that one and then when seeing “customizable UI with support for COBOL” I realized I had fell for it. :P
An issue not being in that known issues tracker doesn’t mean that it’s not acknowledged. It only list issues they are currently working on, since investigating to really testing a fix. Also, not all issues will appear there, it’s merely a manually-curated list. The maintainer of that list explained it better here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Announcing-the-Known-Issue-Tracker/6021973.
Here is what it is for: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Graphical_user_interface#Content_guide
AVG had been a good one on past but the latest versions have became too heavy and resource intensive, even when simply updating. I could suggest trying another one, like Avira too or at least watch out and see if it’s doing updates or scanning while you are playing, in this case just stop it from doing that and see if it works.
Yup, very old bug. There is even a big thread about it buried somewhere in forums. Although as a dev said a while back, this one is hard to solve and at that point they hadn’t been able to spot the exact cause. It keeps coming back, even if they do fixes. :S
By chance were you posting chat links for Waypoints or the like? I have been prevented to post several times by posting several chat links in a row, even though the chat links were different. Usually message suppression is triggered when you post the same thing several times within a short interval, however it triggers easier with chat links because it doesn’t differentiate the links and things they are “the same”.
It’s a “leftover” from a past release long time ago that still haunts the area. Somehow the tracker still “thinks” the event is going on when it’s not. Short history: yep, it’s a bug.
It’s because the forum filter is making sure no one uses an impolite word that refers to a woman of the night. The last four letters of your name are only missing a fifth letter to spell that word. Yay for filters working overtime.
Yup, the filter doesn’t only block impolite words, but also supposed variations of these words, like trying to skip a letter or putting spaces to workaround it. In OP’s case, as Rose mentioned, it’s like spelling certain word skipping a letter.
What about the exploits@arena.net email-adress. Everytime I want to send something there, I receive an error that delivery was impossible. (last attempt a few days ago)
Does that e-mail adress still exist?
As far as I can tell that email still exists. Possibly it’s suffering from the same issues mentioned by Gaile above.
Is this happening on Firefox? Because it doesn’t load any CSS when I view the website on Firefox but Edge works just fine.
Firefox shouldn’t be the issue. This medieval website is.
This website isn’t “medieval”. It pretty much uses modern standards. As others has stated it may be some temporarily “hiccup” at server side or some cache issues at your end. Try to cleaning cache and reload the page, or force reload it by hitting Ctrl+F5.
Just to note, I’m on Firefox and everything loaded fine on the link provided on OP.

Awesomeness: would you consider renaming the list to perhaps:
- The Notable Issue Tracker (subtitle: “pick your NITs here!”)
- The Strategically-Chosen, Raised Issue Tracker (subtitle: “yes, we give a SCRIT”)
I’ve noticed that people assume that you guys aren’t working on issues unless they seem them on the “known” issue tracker. I hope that changing the name slightly will help convey that fact that it’s a manually-curated list that isn’t updated in real time, i.e. that it will always be missing some issues important to the community.
(Still, even if the name remains the same: it’s been a great help in tracking progress on some of the bigger issues and ensuring that more of us are aware of how much stuff you guys get done.)
Good point. Known Issue Tracker sounds like it’s a list of all known issues, that’s not entirely true in this case as there are more known issues not in that list yes. Maybe a simple change like Major Known Issue Tracker could address it, but Illconceived’s ideas sounds more amusing xD (Is that SCRIT what I think it is? :P)
— well, except for those offers of herbal remedies or announcements of strange inheritances from distant princes.
LOL, I couldn’t resist laughing at it. I know right! I even have a plenty collection of those in a folder in my inbox :P Oh and thanks for letting us know about the issue.
The wiki page didn’t work for me right now – neither purging the cache nor reloading the page helped. Also, I got the Krytan Lumberer achievement this morning although the gathering achievement in the daily list is the Maguuma Wastes Lumberer.
Wiki had been going under maintenance and some stuff has broken with the last update, the Daily list there may not be so reliable for the next days though.
It sounds like it’s just Wiki going under some maintenance. If it’s over and things coming from API (event timer, daily list etc) are broken, try to purge cache server if available. Usually there will be a link in the page to do so.
In this case, the recent major update to the backend ended up breaking some stuff. As Chieftain Alex noted, it’s not going to be easily fixed without support from ANet (and based on past history, that will either be really quick or about a week).
Yup, I noticed that after I made that post here. However, I was able to bring Daily list back by clicking “purge server cache” so why I suggested that, but I see that the issues are even deeper than that.

Yup, for me the list is gone too. I tried to purge server cache (through the link provided in the wiki) with no result. In fact, that list is generated from the official API then possibly that API endpoint may have been temporarily taken down maybe.
Edit: oh nvm, purging cache brought it back, the list is being shown for me now.
My attention is gotten! I’m working with our QA department right now on a list of broken/stalled events (including this one). You should expect to see them start appearing on the Known Issue Tracker tonight, with the rest of the ones I’m aware of up by Thursday evening. If you know of a busted event that is not on the tracker on Friday, please shoot me a detailed PM and I’ll check it out. The more info you can provide the better – which NPCs are broken, items that don’t spawn right, the name of the event step it stalls on, that sort of thing. Thanks!
Ohh finally, I have been waiting to get my last collection item for months now. However the last time I tried it the NPC wasn’t even indicating an event starting or something. So, while you are at it could you lower the time between spawns? I heard somewhere that this event was used to have a long time between spawns.
The ones grayed out in the wiki are the ones for low level accounts, as Vayne mentioned above. Those achievement should never appear for high level accounts neither be rewardable. Wiki shows all them just for reference.
*shrug* Be that as it may, I got credit for all of them on my lvl 80 elementalist. Just adding my experience, for what it’s worth
I got it and it’s good to share what you are experiencing. It’s just that I wanted to point out why those appeared that way in the Wiki.
To add to this, it looks like the Dailies page on the wiki is picking up the “hidden” dailies.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Daily
PvE Daily Queensdale Event Completer
PvE Daily Kryta Vista Viewer
PvE Daily Shiverpeaks Miner
PvE Daily Fractal
PvE Daily Great Jungle Wurm
PvE Daily Kessex Hills Event Completer
PvE Daily Maguuma Wastes MinerAre all listed for today; the first three are grayed out on the wiki, and don’t appear in-game, but are awarding credit for completion (I tested it, got credit for Kryta vista viewer, Queensdale Event completer, and Shiverpeaks Miner, and doing those three got me Completionist). The next four are showing on the wiki in normal font, and are appearing in game and functioning as normal.
The ones grayed out in the wiki are the ones for low level accounts, as Vayne mentioned above. Those achievement should never appear for high level accounts neither be rewardable. Wiki shows all them just for reference.
It’s not a bug…well not technically.
Lower level accounts, accounts without an 80 in them, don’t get the same dalies as low level accounts. Today for example, accounts with 80th level characters had maguuma wastes gathering, which obviously low level characters can’t do.
Those characters got shiverpeakes mining instead. So if you do one of the lower level ones, even though it doesn’t appear on your list, it still counts as a daily.
You can find what the dailies are by going to the wiki, and see all the dailies. Even if you do an unlisted daily it counts toward your progress.
Nop, it’s a bug. The dailies for low level accounts were never counted for high level ones, either you get one or another. Also in this case, both dailies were visible in the tracker and not only rewardable (yup, for me I had 2 vista achievements in my tracker a few days ago, one from the previous day that I hadn’t completed then why it was in my tracker, plus that day’s current one. Was it coincidence that lower lvl got the same one that high lvl got on the previous day? Who knows).
Nop, it’s a recent bug: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Daily-carried-over/
I assume you mean my crash.dmp which it will not allow me to make an attachment.
If not you’ll have to be more specific what your asking for.
There are crash logs stored when your client crashes. They can be found here.
Oh, I didn’t know about that Game Advisor thing, gonna try it as I have been having constant black screens and DCs.
I don’t know if I am the only one with this problem. If not, I can’t be the only one getting so fed up with this problem. Most of the time its inconvenient, and at rare times, it completely FUBAR.
Tonight, doing a EVOS TT wurm run, I was reflecting eggs. We de-cap all 3 wurms. Cobalt and crimson kill their wurm, just waiting on amber. at about 25%….. BLACK SCREEN! No warning, no signs of it happening, just a black screen in the game, no sound, nothing. This was the last straw, this has got to be fixed. I am so sick of loosing hard work to a completely random even i cant control.
Before anyone asks, I run in window mode and I am still able to see the window when this happens, just where the game was, is now black. I am using 64bit client, with 32mb of DDR3 memory, with a i7 Extreme edition. This is not a hardware problem. I never had this problem, till HoT came out.
I can’t do long or hard events, having to worry if its going to black screen on me and all of that work will be for nothing. PLEASE FIX THIS!
P.S. I expect a Pile of Regurgitated Armor in my mail for the troubles! Ha Ha
Only 32MB, dang, time to upgrade! (sorry couldn’t resist)
Lol, good catch.
Could you guys try the following and let me know if it works?
- Completely close the game
- Go to temp folder by going to start/run, type in temp and hit enter
- Browse to the folder gw2cache-(###). Example: “gw2cache-(50641E0B-3AD4-1601-081E-6450D43A0116)”
- Delete the whole gw2cache folder
- Restart the game and see if this resolved your issue
Just a note about that. Somehow the forum has hidden the % sign in the post. The proper way is to enclose “temp” with %.

Especially in a game as large as this you could never really test EVERYTHING to make sure that nothing would break after you implement any sort of change. Not to mention, that Anet IMO have a pretty good track record in this regard. Just chill out and be patient, there’s plenty of other content you could play. Actually I wasn’t aware of this, will check this evening if it also doesn’t work for me.
Lol, loved that. And good point yes.
That sounds like a bit of inconsistency here. If "Show All Players Name" is unchecked it shouldn’t, by definition, show any names not even those in your party. Maybe the previous behavior was wrong and now it got fixed? Actually, I never realized if it would always show party member’s name despite that option being checked or not, then I can’t say much.
There’s a gigantic difference between "DO NOT show ALL player names" (it’s current functionality) and "do not show all player names EXCEPT those in my part and/or raid." At worst, they broke the functionality by making the option do exactly what it implies.
Yup I see. If so then it’s a classic example where users got used to a "bug"/"misimplementation" as if it was a "feature" and then when it gets "fixed" it’s seen as a "bug". *shrugs* Well, without an official response we can only speculate if it was intended or not.

It doesn’t have much to do with level. I also noticed it yesterday when I saw Ascalon Vista and Orr Vista in my tracker. I hadn’t done Ascalon one on the previous day but I had it in my tracker. I hadn’t time to test and see if it was going to give me rewards, I just learned that it did. O.o
Just an update, I have tested it and I don’t get this issue. For me it shows normally, with a full nameplate when a player is focused or selected. I never got a health-bar-only case.
Before, even if you unchecked “Show All Player Names” it would show the nameplate of the char at the direction your cam is facing (like if it was focused) even if you haven’t it selected. What it seems now is the same behavior happens but only showing health bar.
http://help.guildwars2.com/entries/98802888 says it was solved.
Tracker has been updated again today with some minor changes:
- Solved moved to top
- Added a “Need more information” status to let players know when we could use their help gathering details about an issue
Re: Jira or formatting changes: right now I’m focused on getting all the major issues in the tracker. I’m talking to our QA and Web Dev teams about changes we can make in the future to make the process more streamlined, but for now the current version (or something very much like it) is what we’re stuck with.
As I had mentioned before, it’s already better than nothing. Keep up the good work Thanks for the update either.
My assumption is this is just the poorly coded game received some data (or lack thereof) and it thinks the game has crashed. There is no sure way to reproduce this bug that I am aware of, but I can confirm it exists.
Well, as I mentioned before the reason for the game continue running when getting a Crash Report window is because the audio runs in a separated thread (like two different processes). What happened there was that audio thread crashed, while the main thread where the game runs was still fine.
4) Is this a Jira plugin or tracked additionally? I’d love to have this for my team’s Jira projects.
I believe that’s merely a blog/helpdesk post updated manually as they mentioned that an issue tracker system wasn’t going to be used.
Audio seems to run on a different instance from the game, then at times the game crash and you can still hear audio, other times the audio stops and the game keeps running (but in this case it can crash after a while too). Anyhow, if any of them crashes you won’t be able to run the game normally, it’s not safe to keep it running, then that’s why the game closes after closing the Crash Report window, and it doesn’t mean that was the Crash Report that kicked you off, the game is already going to be closed when the Crash Report pops up.
can we expect the stutter problem fix on this next patch?
Well, that page says it is in “Final Testing” then it’s possible. But I wouldn’t hold my breath as that doesn’t ensure that the fix worked.
Welcome to the club :/ I have been facing that issue for months now: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Constant-black-screens-and-disconnects/
Yes, search has been broken for a while yes. Here is another thread on the subject and an explanation about why it’s still broken: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Forum-search-is-broken/6008614
Why don’t you just show us your bug tracker with JIRA or something, like Minecraft does?
We discussed doing something similar, but that would also expose supar sekret stuff so we couldn’t (which is unfortunate for me because it would also be a lot less work). The other downside to doing it that way would be making users comb through ALL the bugs (including stuff like typos, translation errors, tiny clipping problems, and other assorted things that don’t actually impact gameplay).
Well, it’s very understandable about hiding those uber super secrets. However, JIRA and other issue trackers have several security and permissions settings that prevents people to see those stuff. It’s just a matter of tweaking stuff. (Here is an example about JIRA).
Also, what’s the problem with users being able to see minor stuff like typos? Possibly it would make the game look uglier if there are too many bugs but it won’t spoil stuff, contrariwise it will show people that things are being worked on and not ignored. Also, these issue tracker systems have easy filters that would put these minor stuff out of sight for those not interested on them. I still believe that something like that would be a very valuable tool either for devs and the community.
An example of one that’s working very nicely and even has hidden projects only visible to staff: https://jira.secondlife.com/
Anyway, great initiative and keep up the great work.
