Im hoping this may lead to some issues with legendarys being inaccessable to casuals. I thnk there is way too much grind involved in them for anyone. Im hoping the precursors are dropping more now since more people are doing these missions that drop them!
Oand yeah, looks like globs are down about 9 silver since the patch.
Results about what I expected, but thanks for the info
And I have none, because my guild is too small and doesn’t have Art of War.
Thanks for making us quit the game. We were really waiting for this guild content.
My guild also is small. Only one active user to be honest, me. At most my guild hit 5 or 6 active members and that was for about a week. Most changed servers to go with WvWvW guilds or to find more PVP locations. I, however, am very much a PVE player. As result I have R3 Politics, R2 Economy, R3 Architechure. With this I still have over 5k banked in my Guild Rep. That’s just from me. So how a small guild with more active players is unable to build up, well…not sure what to say.
I started my guild of one about 4 weeks ago. I earn between 1k and 1.5k influence a week. I purchased 30,000 influence to speed things up. But its still going to take over a year to unlock all the content with my current rate and actual active members who are willing to rep are hard to come by now with the guild missions and the way they were implemented.
Im bored. Want to try something challenging. But rather than getting wiped, what are peoples thoughts on what would be the easiest ones to do. Yes Yes, I know its time wasting when I could be out farming teh mad lootz for my legendarys, but quite frankly im bored with doing that, so I thought I might challenge myself to do something without dat mad lootz.
The bags are a pretty bad design for PvP. With the way people move around in combat you often have to leave the bags behind. If you stop to loot you may be letting down a team member. I don’t really like to let people down in combat.
It is supposed to be about stealth, not thiefs specifically. Its just that it turned into a rant about how some people got owned by thiefs and since they don’t know how to deal with it, they must be OP.
lol an expansion my kitten. There has been hardly anything done.
I have done all world bosses except for the herathi one. In all of them I have had greens or worse from the chest. Overall the drops have improved a little, but its nothing to write home about.
Your going to need to farm alot. Frostgorge sound there are some places around there that have alot of T6 drops. Orr is good for a couple of things like Piles of incandescent. Maybe take a look at the wiki to identify which mats you need and type them into the wiki. The wiki will list where they are dropped from. So say your after vicious fangs:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vicious_Fang
Your going to need to go to Frostgorge or Southsun Cove to pick them up. With the amount you need and the gift specific requiring stacks as well, its VERY time consuming doing it without buying alot as well.
EDIT: Also, you might want to do some research into promotion. And check out market prices and what you know you can farm. It might work out less time consuming to farm something you farm alot and sell them and buy the materials you need with the proceeds.
Im hoping they stop these ones to be honest. I dont really see how it could be an achievement for me to craft X amount of masterworks or higher if I have already maxed out crafting. I mean, if I hadn’t already maxed crafting it would be an achievement, but this is just a sink.
Why wouldn’t you kill them in the Jumping Puzzle. The chest provides things that give your opponents server an advantage. Why would I stand there and let someone give their server an advantage that may later be used against me? That AC you pulled out of the chest may very well be what kills me later. Better you don’t have it.
I should go get some sleep so I can be there for reset. Oh wait who am I kidding, Ill never get out of the queue on reset day!
Culling is absolutely a fixable problem, and as Habib mentioned in his MMORPG interview, we are planning to completely remove it from the game in march.
Why is it taking so long? Well, I think the best way I can describe how we’ve had to approach this problem is that it’s almost like changing a flat tire on a car that’s still moving. That’s a really rough analogy, but hopefully it helps illustrate just how difficult this would be in terms that are easier for everyone to understand.
Something like the way players render is extremely core to the engine and any change to that sort of thing could cause all kinds of other issues throughout the game. There are a lot of really complex technical problems that we needed to solve, then make sure that our changes don’t actually cause any of those odd side effects.
That being said, we’re confident that been able to solve those problems on the technical side. We still have a bit more testing to do, but we’re not expecting any major issues to pop up at this point, so we’re really looking forward to flipping that switch and getting rid of culling for good!
We’ll have a blog post coming up sometime in the next month to go into more details about the culling fixes and what you can expect.
Ill be straight up and to the point. I do not believe your servers can handle this game without the culling issue. Unless you intend on upgrading them, I don’t think you will ever fix culling.
i think that is exactly what is ment with “we can make culling go away by throwing money at it”.
Id like to hope so. But I doubt it. I think they are just tossing up how they can improve the code a bit to reduce culling enough without increasing lag so people don’t get kitten about it.
Id make legendarys require actual achievements in game that require effort, rather than purely a gold farming exercise. Id integrate more content (group events). Id remove dailys and monthlys. Id add more fractals to FoTM. Id integrate more content into WvW. Id incorporate an automatch program for dungeons. How would I achieve this? With a massive overhaul of the Black Lion Trader to incorporate items of worth rather than gamble/waste of money items (with particular note placed on skins) and justify development of these features with the profit made b BLT.
The conversation comes up all the time. Nothing is ever done about it. Ive said before if they increase duration and reduce the damage (as in same damage but over a longer time), I think that would fix it. But GW2 is an easy mode game. Cast times for alot of things are instant and they should not be (IE Necro staff marks). The game is dumbed down for a casual audience and following. I don’t think they are going to change it because of this. Im pretty sure Anet know they have a large casual following and they are going to cater to their main audience.

Are you privy to the server hardware specifications / capabilities? If so, can you please share them with us? Also, can you explain what specific aspect in the impending update will be responsible for the servers being unable to perform?
Yes and no.
WvWvW. Vets come like hot cakes and events come like hot cakes.
I find it depends. Its good when our zergs are rolling through keeps/supply camps. But sometimes we have to defend alot and thats when the unrewarding nature of WvW can really hit home.
That said, Ill probably kill another 300+ vets this month. I just like to get it out of the way :p

Just did mine. You gotta kill 100 vets and I think this will take alot longer than the events. I like to get mine out of the way so I can do what I want in game and not get sidetracked trying to complete these things. I found a spot where you can get 3 per minute, thought some might be interested in getting it done quickly as well, so thought Id share.
Krennaks homestead in Wayfarer (where frozen maw starts). Most of you will know the vet wurm that spawns right near there. This thing is on a 1 minute respawn after death. Then you just head slightly West of there through the Svanir camp is and where the small chest is. There are two vets in here, both on a 1 minute respawn. I did this with a full crit damage thief and was able to get the two svanir vets down and return to the Wurm before it respawned and then back to the svanir veterans right before they respawned. There are a number of other vets in the area (Arctodus and Wurm), but these just waste time if your just looking to get your vets done I don’t think you will be able to find a much quicker way
Just to note, im not talking about the Vet wurm event chain. Its the actually Vet Wurm that spawns right near Krennaks homestead.
Really.. this has to be the 6th or 7th or 10 millionth thread on “omg dailies are ruining the game, so hard, can’t do them Q.Q, can’t play the way I want, etc. etc.” Don’t like the dailies, don’t do them.
No game lets you “play the way you want” but GW2 is ridiculously flexible in terms of letting us do a variety of stuff. In GW1 you had to do storyline, grind points just to access parts of the game – here? You can go to any zone as long as you have the gear and levels to handle it, you can do any event, any dungeon. But o noes, can’t get a shiny because it requires you to go out of your way for 10 minutes a day, can’t “play the way I want.”
Your missing the point. Anet is introducing these dailys as a simplistic way to keep people doing the same kitten over and over rather than adding new and engaging content. Does that make sense to you? Whether you do the dailys or not, they are there and they are ruining the game for everyone.
I can confirm that the Modniir Overlord meta event in Harathi Hinterlands has increased rewards.
How did you confirm this? And can you confirm you can only get the chest 1 per day?
Its one chest per character (not account).
Culling is unfixable. It will never be fixed. Im surprised people haven’t figured that out yet…
Im assuming this is joke video? It really takes the kitten out of GW2 and kind of touches on so much of what Anet is failing to do.
If WvW did not exist I would have stopped playing this game a long time ago. Seriously I see people playing PvE all the time farming the same terrible missions over and over again and I really wonder how they can bring themselves to do it. The PvE in this game is very limited.
Prime time for whom? Are you really going to say that the people playing on my server from halfway across the world are somehow less valid and deserve less points for their efforts?
I’m surprised you didn’t just ask for the game to revolve around you. Oh, but you did.
Why are there N/A servers and Euro Servers? If you live cross the ocean you should play on Euro servers. If you chose to play NA servers I don’t see why you shouldn’t be expected to take a small hit .
Edit: same goes for NA players who chose to play on euro servers
You realise there are players who don’t have the same prime time as you and cannot play on Euro servers because the ping is 100,000. The world is, you know, bigger than you seem to think…
Remove swords, add a system that alerts a guild when there keep/tower is under attack.
White swords, which is already implemented. Thats the thing, we comm when we see white swords and ask for eyes on X area. Someone comes back eventually and tells the zerg what it is causing the white swords.
Not sure if this thread is serius.
Im doing this solo, although I have to sit up and concentrate. It seems it scales with people in the area, so perhaps alot of the Teq waiters made it scale higher than the 5/6 players could handle?
Too much loot and too much content. Did someone start a contest to see who can make the most rediculous thread?
You just got my first ever +1 for a post in these forums.
All this has achieved is encouraging you to have groups of 25 or less.
It’s changed nothing Other than the above. White swords have always needed to be scouted. 2 rams and a small group that is not stupid have always ninajed without swords. But it’s definitely harder now to keep track of the zergs. Because now even a zerg (on our server 25 man is pretty much a zerg; we have bigger ones, but normally only when there’s some special event from a guild/commander) doesn’t trigger the orange swords so easily. And a zerg can get things done way quicker of course. It could be done before too, but you needed to restrain your people to not hit/get hit by random mobs on the way. Now you don’t need to look left or right and can just carve through the map and attack whatever you want and the enemy will have a hard time keeping track of your movements.
Of course, you needed to check white swords before that too, but you had more time to do so.WvW just got a lot more difficult to coordinate and thus also less casual friendly, and I mean that neutrally. We’ll see how it will play out in the end, but I’m really hesitant to call this a change for the better.
All you need is a couple of decent players on a server and you pretty much know where the enemy zerg is the whole time. Players like myself pretty much attach themselves to the enemy zerg and follow them around to com for commanders intel.
But you’re playing on the current top NA server, if you’re signature is accurate. You have a lot of dedicated WvW players. After all, that’s why you’re up there and others aren’t. I bet you have less randoms in WvW and more people doing what the commander wants, running supply chains or whatever. Servers in lower brackets with 20 people on their community TS will have it significantly harder.
Therefore it might be a tactical improvement on larger servers where massive zerging seems to be a problem (On our server 50 man zergs is the utmost maximum I’ve seen, more common is 20-30 people during prime time). But on lower tier servers it will probably lead to a lot of stuff getting ninja’d and people just resorting to circle capping because it is easier to recap than to cover the whole map with scouts.
Perhaps. We don’t get 50 man zergs very often though. Lately we haven’t been getting a queue at all.
Indeed. I have started taking note of what character has done what event, and while noting down the time aswell doesnt seem to be much of a hassle, its gonna be a bit much to keep organised in the long run.
Ill be doing the same. I have a long weekend this week so Ill know the answer in the next couple of days.
Its not a guaranteed rare. I did Grenth last night and got blues and greens.
I’ve done 6 events so far, and gotten 7 rares. Even if it’s not guaranteed, the rate is waaaaaay too high for events as easy as these.
You sound sadistic tbh. There are alot of casual donkeys out there who don’t want to chase the carrot hanging from the stick for an eternity. I say this with good intentions, I think you need to really have a long think about why you are being driven to grinding. GW2 was never and should never be about this, even if thats the way its going.
Its not a guaranteed rare. I did Grenth last night and got blues and greens.
Yes it does happen alot. CHar and Norn get targetted alot. But if your a tank, maybe that doesn’t matter. There are other advantages to playing a larger race though. It really depends on what your going for. Remember weapons are scaled to char size as well so a tanky GS Warrior might be better as a Norn/Char. But a thief maybe you want to go asura/human/sylvari.
Good question. I hope its at the same time the server resets your dailys. If its reset at 24 hours I find it makes it annoying as your constantly getting a bit later and later at night until you have to miss
It sounds like you just listed Elementalist to a T. That said, don’t go Ele, go Warrior…they contribute more than any other class.

To answer the question the the game is named after 3 guild wars that happened between the Human kingdoms of Orr,Kryta and Ascalon between the years 1013-1070 AE .
This guy pretty much said it.
Ascalon, Orr, and Kryta where at a Guild Wars after the events of GW1 game.
The Guild is not refered to the Player’s guild but the ingame lore of how the guilds where at war during that time period. If you havn’t played GW1 then you would be confused lol
I didn’t play GW1, but picked that up from the storyline in GW2 where its mentioned by the ancient elder tree or whatever she is called.
Remember rares are more frequently dropping right now. Most people will salvage them, not put them on the TP. But as this drives down ecto price and assuming Anet don’t change the ecto rate, than there will be more rares on the TP. Thats my interpretation at least.
I hope your mesmer sweeping lol.
Thanks for the info.
Too many useless obsidian shards :/
I am sorry, of course you are right. I can think of no guild on JQ that would jump ship simply because the server is not doing as well as it once had.
My apologizes sir!
I can, every guild that recently transferred over for starters.
Well, JQ was Tier 1 before they transferred over.
I feel fuzzy when the thief complains they can’t solo them 10 minutes before I beat one up.
Takes about 40 seconds for a thief to take one down
This is my first MMO. My impression of MMOs has always been that players are bad at PvP in MMOs. I just came upon the realisation that my impression was completely correct whilst reading this thread.
Try fighting a good thief in WvW as one of your alts.
Id be willing to take on any thief in WvW with my Warrior and bet my left testicle I beat them.
I could be wrong, but 25% = 1 tick. And likewise 50% = 2 ticks, 75% =3 ticks. Thats what I worked out with my thief. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. So essentially if you had 70% condition duration you would be getting two ticks and wasting 20% condition duration you could have applied to something else.
There will be a dungeon finder in GW4.
This thread makes me feel sick. Seriously, why are we begging for more carrots on sticks. There are way too many of them in this game.
(In Orr). My immediate reaction is this will be a challenge and a potentially rewarding one. What I get is an easily killed risen giant that probably won’t drop anything. Does everyone else feel this way? Id love for these things to be the walking monsters they look like.
Remove orange swords altogether.
