Are you using this webpage to submit your ticket (bypassing the ‘sign in’ method)?

https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/requests/new (Choose a category at the bottom of the page to start the ticket.)

There should be no problem. Otherwise, try using a different venue to access the page (phone/tablet/etc.).

Good luck.

Doesn’t work. Keeps asking me to sign in.

…I think support made a mistake when I asked them to update my email. At least I can still get into forums.

I’ve always wanted something that looked ‘functional’ yet elaborately designed. The Pheonix kite and Classic glider skins were probably the closest to this idea, but they were soooo…flimsy.

Anet, think you can make an elegant glider that looks like it could stand the ruggedness of travel? It kinda irks me that many of the non-wing gliders look like they could be torn to shreds with a good strong gust.

Nerf Backstab? Meh, prefer S/D anyway, so much fun~ wait…

…If backstab gets nerfed, it’ll make thieves weaker. More classes will beat them. People will carry the idea in more fights. And a dagger mainhand isn’t one I often play anyway. It’s a nerf that doesn’t affect me. Meaning people will fight me thinking I’m nerfed but rage when I’m not. And the rage will be glorious.

So…

I haven’t touched PvP since I came back to GW2. Partly because I’m a little worried about making a fool of myself…

I was very much into PvP before I left, and I really want to know – will I be matched with people of my skill level before my haitus, or will I (hopefully) get the opportunity to start fresh?

I wasn’t the best, but I like think I was decent enough. I just need time to relearn PvP again…I don’t want to drag down my team while doing so.

All I want are simple pants...where are they?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Arikyali.5804

Arikyali.5804

The pants are in game. It’s just that they’re gender locked. This picture shows them, but you have to imagine it without the top and the thigh high boots. Without the top and the boots, they’re a plain, simple pair of pants for light armor. I put them on my female Charr ele to get a clean, non frilly look on her.

Gender locked….great, which probably means my female human will not be able to even use the skin. I would be happy if I could get any pants skin to put over the current legs I have.

But you said you got them for your charr female? How on earth did you pull that off if they are gender locked?

Charr and Asura females wear male armor by default. So, my female Charr ele wears male armor, as well as my female Asura guardian. The female version of that pair of pants that Humans, Norns and Sylvari wear has a short skirt and leggings.

hmmmmm it smells like discrimination to me…. (argh) Not fair at all.

Is it really discrimination, or just an oversight in a lack of choices? On the flipside, you hear medium armor wearers complaining about the lack of anything outside of overcoats. That’s why there’s so many simple pants for medium armor, and why female mediums wear pants more often than skirts. the overcoat takes the cake in most of the designs.

I have to say, compared to other games, GW2 is doing a pretty darn good job on the feminine equality. They’re not discriminating and forcing every single female caster to wear awful revealing outfits. A lot of the outfits look very combat-worthy.

For the Asura and charr, there were different reasons why they made it all male-based. (I think one argument somewhere, was that Asura looked too much like children so it would be a little too weird to give them the generic female style. Or something.)

What are best weapons in game?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Arikyali.5804

Arikyali.5804

The comments are all correct. However I am interest in the “best” weapon in terms of base weapon statistics (kill power) regardless of class and specialization.

There’s no real straight answer. If what you mean by the best simply by, “Biggest base stat”, I guess that would be one of the ascended/legendary weapons, ignoring the customized stats.

As to which holds the biggest number, you’d have to look it up on the wiki.

Is there any kind of compensation I can ask for my purchase?

(Not that I really would mind if there wasn’t, mind you. Anet is just so very generous with these things I thought there was a specialty or something that I missed. I got a lot of good uses for my finisher before finding it on the TP, so it was worth the gems spent.)

"Disgusting Mesmer" Build

in Mesmer

Posted by: Arikyali.5804

Arikyali.5804

This build was before chronomancer.

Meh, it’s probably a lost cause now…it did need points in more than just three traitlines. I just wanted to rediscover what the build exactly was. Maybe if I had access to an oldschool build editor, I’d remember which traits it used.

What’s the WvW roamer meta nowadays anyway? I’m finding more bunkers than zerkers.

"Disgusting Mesmer" Build

in Mesmer

Posted by: Arikyali.5804

Arikyali.5804

Mesmer community, I need your help.

Long ago, way way back when we still ran the 5 trait system, I crafted a build that was absolutely disgusting. And by disgusting, I actually mean truly beautiful. And trollish. And OP. And probably doesn’t even exist anymore with the new setup but hey, no loss in asking for help in recreating it.

(So coined when I dueled my good friend, who can beat me 10 to 1 in pvp. But this build was so OP I somehow managed to kill him three times in a row. Hence, after showing him the build, he called it, “Absolutely disgusting”.)

However, with the new system, and my long haitus, I’ve forgotten how this build is supposed to be made. So I need your help, mesmer community, in figuring out the missing pieces and filling in the gaps.

1. This was strictly a condi-roaming build, and couldn’t really be used anywhere else. It was specifically designed as a counter for its time, which had the zerker meta.

2. It stacks confusion and torment like no tomorrow. To the point where moving/using a skill was a death sentence. (mostly intended to kill roaming thieves)

3. scepter/torch and staff. (Or was it scepter focus? Maybe scepter/sword..?) On the surface, it looked similar to a PU mesmer, but it did not run PU.

4. Dire armor with perplexity runes

5. Torment/energy sigils, giver/dire weapons

6. Rabid accessories

7. It used 4-5 different trait lines, so it may not be possible to duplicate it with the new system…

8. I think I used sigil of healing, along with other sigils. The traits linked distortion on sigils, and by that extent, reflect on distort. (longbow rangers, beware)

9. It was very pro-interrupt. Like bringing as many interrupting skills as possible.

10. One of its prime weaknesses was lack of condition removal. It had cleansing, but I do recall needing to be very cautious around other condi-roamers.

I loved this build so much, because it was really…crazy beautiful and disgustingly easy. And I was much too selfish to share it (Hey, everyone who heard it told me it was a loss cause and a stupid build. Then I turn around and down enemy roamers in 10 seconds. I didn’t want to share). But now that it’s probably lost for all time, I don’t mind too much in sharing it…especially since mesmer seems to be in a bad spot right now…

Soooo…yes! Help me recreate my Disgusting Mesmer build.

Really miss alpine borderlands :, (

Sylvari Loyalties: what happens?

Arikyali.5804

You know the event where you have to question the Sylvari to see if they’re still loyal to the pact, or if they’ve been converted to Mordremoth? Well, I have a few questions…

1. If you release a guilty Sylvari, they escape with all the loyal Sylvari, and then self-detonate, killing themselves and all the honest Sylvari. Sylvari suicide bombers…um. Anyway, I’ve yet to see a group of loyal sylvari survive this, since there’s always a defector. So what happens if there are enough loyal survivors? Does something happen?

2. How the -bleep- do you tell if a Sylvari is loyal or not?

We are kinda in the same situation as warrior in almost every single game mode.
PvE: Brought for buffs, dps not so great
PvP: Underwhelming but have a few gimmicks to play
WvW: In zerg, brought for 1-2 utility. Roaming, again a few gimmicks.

Really? Before I left, Warrior was one of the top tier classes. It steamrolled everything.

Anyway, I think I’ll be able to recreate my old ‘disgusting mesmer’ build, but it was pretty much designed for one thing only: tearing through zerker roamers in wvw. But maybe since PvE also uses condi now, maybe it’ll be of some decent use there…

What Is A Mesmer?

in Mesmer

Posted by: Arikyali.5804

Arikyali.5804

Returning from a very long haitus and trying to get back in the game, I caught myself asking this. Just…what am I trying to accomplish with this class?

Really, Mesmer is my main, but for some reason I can’t bounce back into it. I’m looking at all these skills, meta builds, gear, and traits, and none of them seem to agree on anything. I get it’s supposed to be chaotic, but…I’m supposed to make other people confused, not myself. So I asked, what is a mesmer?

Well…they’re sort of like spellblade-inspired casters that focus on manipulating the flow of battle. They create chaos with illusionary magic.

‘Manipulating’ the flow of battle…that’s the basic idea of a mesmer, ain’kitten Then I looked at the skills and traits and thought…“most of these feel pretty straightforward. Not counting the one or two skills that never have use (I’m looking at you, pointless reviving skill…and what have they done to mimic now? Can’t you change it back to what it was?), but…there’s not a lot of ‘manipulating’ going on…”

As it stands now, I can be more of a control freak on my thief without even trying, with all the troll stealthiness, stuns, and shadowstepping around. And I only play one specific variant of the thief build. I’ve invested even more time on mesmer, but nothing seems to work as intended.

I haven’t dived back into structured PvP/fractals/dungeons yet, so I’ve yet to paint the whole picture. But so far, mesmer feels…lacking. how am I to be a control freak in battle? Please, tell me. I’m several months behind and need to rediscover how to play as the chaotic manipulative mesmer. So far the only manipulating I’m succeeding in doing is boring utility veil for WvW. I’d rather zerg on my ele….somehow I get more loot bags. And I’m not even good on ele.

I found the trait I was looking for. It was Masterful Reflection, and I see it was removed…(bleh).

Mesmer just doesn’t…feel the same way as I remember from before. A few of the new changes don’t really make sense. (Why would I use some of these new skills/traits? And why were others removed/changed/no longer allowed to sync together?)

Part of it may be attributed to relearning the class, but it’s gone from: “Centralized meta builds/ideas that branch out into several niche variations that take time to understand” to “What the heck am I trying to do and why am I not just using a class that does it better?”

Don’t get me wrong, I still love my mesmer. But it changed from “controlled chaos” to “stagnant discombobulated flailing”

My thief was much easier to come back to. :/ All I had to relearn was “steal now has two keys”.

Returning Player. Gimme an update..

Arikyali.5804

I’ve heard horrible things had happened to the mesmer class since the last time I played. I left way back when we still ran the five trait lines and spent points to upgrade them. Pretty different to the new system of picking only three trait lines.

1. What’s the non-chronomancer meta build for mesmer, nowadays? I will get the expac, but not yet. So I need non-shield builds until then.

2. Do people still use double ranged shatter mesmer in PvP? I loved that build…

3. Is a soldier set with speed runes still a good investment, and viable today? It was basically for my zerker build for WvW, but with soldier armor to be more tanky.

4. Is glass zerker mesmer still the meta for PvE? (Fractals, dungeons, etc.)

5. Perplexity runes are still a good investment, right? I’d hate to have my condi set be useless now…>.<

6. Is the trait ‘distort on shatter’ really gone? I loved that trait. >.<
Edit: Found the trait, it was Masterful Reflection, and it was synced with signets, not shatters. Apologies.

7. There was a customized mesmer build I made for myself way back then, that I absolutely adored. I cannot recall what the exact aspects are, but if I could get ahold of an old fashioned build editor, I might be able to recreate it, and transfer it to the new setup. Anyone have a link to an outdated editor?

8. I heard mesmers got nerfed to the ground, and none of the recent buffs alleviated the damages. Is this the truth? Should I just forget about my main mesmer and play my thief for now?

Please tell me it’s not as bleak as it looks. ._.

The thing is, I crafted a very, very, OP condi mesmer build. It’s so awful my friend whom I dueled to show it off to, nicknamed it the ‘disgusting mesmer’ build. And disgusting in that it was ridiculously easy and destructive. And to my dismay, I lost the file for the build’s setup.

With the new changes, I’m not sure if it’s even still viable or anything, but I’d at least like to remodify it again. I can’t seem to peg down the remaining aspects of the build.

I have been gone for a very, very, veeeery long time. But I’m back now! Yay!

I haven’t gotten the expac yet, but I plan to get it soon. But for now, I need some information:

1. I ‘lost’ a few of the builds and traits I used to use, with the new setup. And I cannot for the life of me, recreate those builds. Are there any old build editor sites that still uses the 5 trait lines? If I can just get a look at the old system, I can recall the traits I used.

2. What’s the non-chronomancer meta build for mesmer, nowadays?
2a. Do people still use double ranged shatter mesmer in PvP?
2b. Is a soldier mesmer with speed runes still a good investment? It was basically my zerker build for WvW, but with soldier armor to be more tanky.

3. Can I do anything with that storage box full of ascended rings from fractals?

4. I heard that a lot of the new crafting recipes ‘breathed life’ into as lot of the unused crafting materials. Should I stop feeding my Mawdrey and shiny star, all my excess bloodstone dust and empereal fragments?

5. Aside from the bat and snowflake shoulder pieces, did I miss any skins in the past 6-8 months from when I left? Anything that was limited time and now unobtainable?

6. What about the lore? Did I miss anything major from Silverwaste and Dry Top? The last bit I played in was the giant plant boss divided up in three lanes, and the ley line stream. I completed the S2 living story. Aside from the expac, which I haven’t obtained yet, did I miss anything?

7. What happened to the soldier pendant in PvP? Is it gone, or am I mistaken and there was there never one to begin with?

8. Since I am an absolute newbie now, I know I will be flailing everywhere until I get the hang of things. So with that said, will I drag my team down in PvP being matched with people at my old skill level, or will I have the opportunity to start fresh in matchups, and not make such a fool of myself?

9. One of my favorite pastimes was void jumping. (Getting into places you weren’t supposed to be in) I checked one of my old favorite hangouts, to find it blocked off now. Q.Q Are there still void jumps out there, or has Anet swept through it all and locked them all up? >.<

Any info will be appreciated. Please and thanks!

Supply and demand.

Materials for crafting the sigil are also used for crafting other items. Even if the demand for the materials rise, if the supply or demand of the sigil doesn’t change, its price won’t either.

Some people craft sigils to gain crafting experience. If this sigil is one of them, you ‘pay’ the difference in the terms of gaining exp points. It’s the same reason why armor components are a lot cheaper than their base components. (and base components are often used in crafting ascended mats)

WOOOO a sane thread at last!

Best thing is to buy ascended trinkets (mainly amulets and if you don’t run fractals then rings as well). If you’re not fussed by them then you can buy heavy crafting bags for T6 mats which you can use to craft exotics if needed or sell them for the gold.

So most of you guys said t6 mats as your first or second option. For ascended trinkets are there any specific ones people tend to go for? the list is huge lol

Mostly the zerker statted ones (either full zerker or zerk+valk) It really depends on build/playstyle. IF you do a lot of WvW, you might wanna get soldier stats instead.

What is the highest recommended item to use laurels for ? ? Suggestions ? ?

It depends whatever is important to you.

1. Crafting materials for legendaries (T6 bags, dyes for bifrost)

2. exclusive minipets (bragging rights)

3. ascented trinkets (early start on fractal runs)

  • if you do this, get them from the WvW merchant as those are generally cheaper.

4. Season 1 achievements (unique skins no longer available)
