It’s the small neat and tidy animations that make the game beautiful.
Not the fugly bow that shoots unicorns or a gun that would be better suited at a kid’s party.

What do you think it means then exactly?

Sorry the post was meant as both a joke (Princess Bride paraphrase) and a comment that racism and threats of murder are not something that I consider funny.

Didn’t mean it as a jab at you. My apologies.

So maybe a year and a half from now? “Once upon a time. 34 gold bought 400 gems.”

With the way this game is going I doubt 1 1/2 years from now will exist for it.

Investing in Gems

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Bagel.4598

The only reason gems were worth so much back then was because there was very little gold in the economy. Gems could be bought for the same rates as today with real money.
Unless there is a massive reduction in circulating gold I highly doubt gem value will ever decrease or increase that significantly.
Sure when new items are added to gem store the price will change, but not to the point where investing will pay off unless you buy tens of thousands.

*I’m only on level 4 for fractals. Yet I know how to do every single one. You know how I’m such a low level in fractals yet know each map? Because of the most ridiculous problem. The party leader leaving. * Multiple times I’ve had this issue where I’ve spent hours doing a fractal to come to the last boss or something where either the party leader DC’s or another party member DC’s and the party leader doesn’t want to wait so leaves. Why does everyone get kicked? Why? It puts a fire in me I’m so angry when this happens. Obviously it just happened again at this very moment which is why my post is in rage. I can’t seem to progress in fractals because the party leader leaves and I just spent an hour or two doing it and it’s not really motivating to give it another try from square one. This should be a major priority to make it so that when a party leader leaves that someone else gets assigned the party leader just like every other game out there. /rant

You become the leader, no risk of leader leaving if you decided to stay, if you disconnect you can rejoin.
If you disconnect for a period long enough to remove you from party, whether the group falls apart due to the ‘leader’ is void. That’s what happens when you go offline for a long period, your instances close.

You are being unreasonable to blame your fractal level on the party or party level.

I hope this simplified version is comprehendible to you.

I don’t think the OP is being unreasonable at all. It is extremely poor design to boot the entire party just because the person who started the instance cannot continue for whatever reason.

He is being unreasonable because his progress is not blocked due to party leaders leaving, considering he could be a party leader himself.
Easy fix.

He is not at all being unreasonable, it’s a ridiculously idiotic design flaw that has been making people unhappy since the game’s release. It’s not just for his own benefit, it’s for other people’s too, as there is no guarantee that the OP wont DC or have to leave, either, causing everyone else in his party to get kicked.

And surely you realise that if everyone insisted on being the party leader, there wouldn’t be any parties, ever.

Ahhh the second person to ignore the OP’s content.
His fractal level has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PARTY LEADER LEAVING.

The subject of the party problem has been debated time and time again.
I provided a way out of it.
His post about being a level 4 fractal is unreasonable because it is not due to the party flaw.

You are being unreasonable.
For starters you can make a party, therefore you will never have a problem with people being kicked or the leader leaving.
You can also play ANY level you join, acquire the agony resist through the TP and join a level 49, since you are so seasoned in fractals you won’t have a problem with what to do.
You will still get your daily reward even if you are doing a level or ‘tier’ above your current personal.
49’s are less likely to fail than level 4’s.
Levels 0-39 should be considered a training gap. I would expect frustration, rage kicks and quits in these levels.
40+ are for the experienced. Less tolerance is required because there are less mistakes and fails.

Let me give a brief account of modern attempts to combat the RMT industry.

Company – “Alright guys, have fun leveling your characters to XX!”
player 1 – “leveling takes too long. The first time was fun though.”
player 2 – “Yeah. I’m gonna go pay real money to get power leveled from some shady dude on the net.”
Company – “Ok, how about we offer to level your character to 80 for real money? You know, legit and stuff.”
player 1 – “Pssssh, what is this P2W ish you’re givin’ me?”
Company – “But you just said..”
player 1 – “shhhhh, no more talking.”

QFT

Company “Everything you loved about the prequel!”
Game : Very little of what we loved about the prequel existing in the sequel, bar maybe the lore?
Player : “What happened to everything we loved?”
Company : Oh things change and blah blah kittening blah blah, deal with it umad? Gem store"
Player : " But you said-"
Company “Shhhhh, we run this kitten”

There will be different desires from different players, but a company’s best interest is catering for all player types.
A quick hit to level 80 for money affects NO one but that person.
It cuts an 8 hour crafting session in to an instant level max, while the funds go to the company rather than the anvil.

I believe the last thing mentioned from dev’s (though I CBF looking for it because Anet have really kittened me off with this whole ordeal), was that the reset personal Fractal levels would remain unchanged to give an even playing field.

The rest of the massive kitten up that is Fractals is nothing but broken promises, half kitten ’d reward system and lack of kittens to give to a minute player base.

The ignore approach from Anet on this area of the game suggests nothing but Fractals is not something Anet want to continue.
The more people they can get out of it and in to more focused things like LS, WvW, PvP and gem store – the better for their pockets.

This game is spiralling downward and I won’t be investing any more time or money in to gems at this point.

It was stated that they did not want to devalue the current worth of precursors in the TP because they felt they were at a good place.
I would say that an element of account bound material will be added.
If the precursor from crafting were account bound it would prevent people from selling it, thus giving people the question of :
Is it more economical for you to use your gold through TP or use your time through grinding time gated-materials.
It would come down to can you make gold faster than you can craft a precursor.

That is my speculation.

Suggestion for dev's

Bagel.4598

I’ve been looking for a suggestion area on this forum.. unless I is blind.. I see none.. so got 2 main suggestions.. think they are perfect to enhance gameplay

Monthly’s

Its too easy.. I mean.. its too quick.. they are done in like 2 days.. I get that you are trying to accommodate people that don’t play much.. but they are completely really easily.. u should make them a proper month’s worth… you have a monthly.. say.. kill 100 champs.. erm.. over a month.. make it a 1000 or something.. make it worth 4 weeks.. so I suggest.. expand monthly’s to make em worth a month of effort..

It’s done in 2 days by people who play a lot. It’s done in a month or not at all by those who don’t.
You destroyed your own suggestion with the reasoning behind monthlies being achievable in 2 days.
They way it is now it works for both types of player.
Why would you want to change that so it is even further unachievable to those less active in the attempt of making it more of a grind for those who aren’t?

Bind a key to sheath / draw wweapon. Sheath weapon in combat to stop attacking.

This doesn’t always work for me. Even deselecting the target doesn’t always help, because sometime you get caught in a rythim where a last shot always slips out your gun while sheathing / deselecting and once it hits your target it automatically reaquired and auto-attack starts firing again.

Then press the key a couple of times until you see your character sheath?

Implementation of 90% of content becomes exclusive or mainly acquired via gems and anything else comes half thought and with half the effort.
This opinion is based on the comparison between the original game and it’s sequel.
A severe lack of free permanent content is poorly justified with comments designed to hide the truth or sugar coat it.

No, you have it back to front.

PvP = competitive environment with a dominant condi/bunker meta. If you use any old random “play just how I want lol build” then you are going to get roflstomped or at the very least put yourself at a major disadvantage.

PvE = completely non competitive and for the main, faceroll easy. You can play pretty much any build you want and do the content. Infact most people engaged in pve don’t seem to spec full glass zerk. Where zerk does dominate is in a highly specific niche within the pve setting, namely min/max speed clear dungeon groups.

Because they are working on multiple issues at once and this one was ready for implementation?

This is indeed what they stated.

But one could always question how or why a stat revamp came around so quickly compared to what people have been complaining about since the dawn of the game itself which is mediocre encounters and a lack of meaningful combat & risk/reward.

It does seem rather odd that the first thing that came to mind was hey, lets gut crit damage before changing the encounters, even if the premise is that it allows for smoother transitions for them. Would be nice to get some detailed insight into how they plan to change encounters outside of stats to make support and control more frequently utilized.

There is 1 law and 1 law only.

If it affects the player negatively or the economy/us positively, forget about it”

It’s actually very easy to understand.
You are paying out the kitten for the skin.
For the pleasure of catching people’s eye.
The ‘look’ is subject to opinion. What you consider pretty and overpriced may be hideous to someone who likes the look of an item worth 2 gold.
You do not need the skin.
Why should your idea of good looking skins be of higher stats over someone else’s?
By that logic some could argue that legendaries be cheaper than ascended weapons because they’re the same stat but don’t look as good.
