Night monster in T1 EU

I posted my suggestion here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/SP-NA-Server/first

Make a server for NA [SP]

100x this. Fix the actual problem instead of the symptoms. The only reason BB’s night presence is so out of whack compared to all other EU servers is that somehow, American developers assumed languages other than English are only spoken in Europe. Turns out this is not the case.

Maybe that way PPT heavy servers such as BB or JS will try to improve their fighting skills

They are not even a PPT server (that would suggest some sort of strategy), they just mindlessly karma-train all maps by outnumbering the others 10:1 at night. The other two servers reliably loose ALL their T3 objectives every night, despite having a small presence at night of 5-15 organized players defending stuff.

Next day you can deal with breaking their completely sieged-up T3-keeps on all maps full of supplies to slowly gain back your tick, rinse and repeat. If they weren’t dropping lootbags in plenty, it would be completely unfun to play against.

Yeah AG will just sit out this terrible link. As long as Vabbi doesn’t care about rank, AG will follow that mindset.

The Vabbi – Aurora Glade link is the most hilarious I have seen in a long time. The most laid-back casual server paired with the home of tryhard GvG guilds.

I lol’d at the thought of how their teamchat may look like.

OP, there is no way to choose a “T1-server” and stay there. Links change, guilds disband and move… just pick a sever with a community you like and that fits your playstyle.

This and removing the class stacking is the way to go, something has to be done, can’t be worse than what already is in ranked. Make better rewards to unranked, don’t know, something, the lack of action by the dev’s it’s unbeliavable.

Not sure if it has been mentioned somewhere, but I do have the strong impression that the devs did something to reduce the class stacking in season 7. A vast majority of my ranked matches have been exact mirror match-ups class wise since then. No way this is cooincidence.

You need to get over it.

I don’t “police” anyone, please try with a little less drama and a bit more sensible discussion. I explained to you why you proposal did not work in this game in the past and therefore likely will not work in the future either. But you prefer to ignore facts and arguments…

.

Literally most games do it… WoW, LoL, dota2, overwatch, CSGO the list goes on.

What would my queue times as a group have anything to do with you? Why does it bother you so much to login and post? If you don’t want to group queue- don’t.

I (like most soloQ players, this has been discussed over and over) do not want to face preformed teams. I also do not want to compete on the same leaderboard with players that play under vastly different circumstances.

The other games you mention have not only seperate MMRs for solo and teamQ, but also a huge pool of players to draw from. I repeat, seperate Qs existed in this game and they failed due to lack of players interested in the TeamQ. Get over it.

I simply want to be given the opportunity to play the game with my friends, as a team, in a ranked ladder. The way the game was initially designed.

Why would you want to able to compete as a fixed team to climb in an individual(!) ranking system?

Common sense tells you that such a setup is illogical. It would be like ranking indidual football players judging by their teams’ performance in the primary league. It does not make any sense.

You compete as a team, you get ranked/placed as team (AT). You compete as individual in a team mode, you get ranked as individual. Radomness in teammates ensures that all other factors are cancelled out in the lonk run.

Also, read what others have said about your suggestion with a seperate team queue. We have been there, it was hugely unpopular. Anet has stated multiple times that the vast majority of PvPers plays solo. That may not be your preference, but you damand to cater to a small minority.

Druid longbow?

in PvP

Posted by: Kir Sakar.3647

Kir Sakar.3647

Longbow Druid (https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Druid_-_Shoutbow) works suprisingly well in SoloQ I find, at least at lower tiers. I also tried the meta bunker build, but I don’t like the playstyle of the sword/dagger weaponset. I feel too defensive and helpless with it.

As others have said, longbow gives you better offensive options in an uncoordinated team. You have some burst together with your smokescale, while still maintaining some sustain, mobility and the team support. It also is very useful to chase pressured thieves and mesmers.

I had little experience (~ 50 games) on Druid in PvP before but placed immediately into Gold 2 with it, which is at the high end of what I got with classes I have several hundred games with in previous seasons.

But yeah, as soon as you have well played/coordinated support with an Ele or Engi or hard focus from the enemy team you get far less effective with the bow.

Seconded.

I have more than 130 games in low gold/ high silver this season and did not once see a bot. Just players that don’t know how to rotate. Even though I often play in the dead hours of the night due living in a different time zone.

Those bot posts keep coming up, but if games with bots are really this frequent, why did nobody upload a video so far? I am really curious.

Ally Targeting?

I am not sure if I understand you question correctly, but what do you need ally targeting for in the first place?

Heals are either AOE ground targeted (for example druid celestrial avatar skills, blasting water fields) or AOE effect with radius around you, affecting up to 4 allies automatically (Ele “Wash the Pain Away” etc.). You don’t need to target for healing your allies in GW2 unless I miss something.

They all come together and make a universe come alive. You just need to find a place.
[…] So it’s not about doing a quest , it’s a quest finding your personal desires, your wishes, wants , musts and dreams. And you are the only one who can make ’m come true.

So well said! And be prepared that you discover totally new desires… for me, that is the combat on all scales against other players.

Unlike you, OP, I have not played a lot before I started GW2 less than a year ago. I started this game mainly to have an enjoyable activity with my friends at home since I moved 8000 km away a couple of years ago.

The few games I had played before were more strategic or economy simulation games. I usually stopped enjoying those games when any sort of war or combat became central in the end phase of those games. However I was assured that GW2 can be played with little combat and with a focus of exploring of a beautiful world.

So I made a Charr mesmer and started exploring and loved it. I also did not find the occational combat with trash mobs too bad. I did the story and a few dungeons, this and that. Made an Ele and liked that.

For some odd reason one day I decided to try sPvP. Even though I got straight out deleted, I was hooked. I started to learn about classes, roles, boons, control and stats to get better. I made and played more classes to learn how they work. I am now in low gold and happy about my progress from a total gaming noob that had to learn how to use the keyboard for movement to an avarage PvP player.

Then I tried WvW and end up to spend at least 75% of my playtime there. The teamplay on the smallest to the largest (across maps) scale and the huge fights are so much fun. To learn to play various classes, roles and synergies in a 40-player squad is fun and challenge. Listening to my squadmates on TS is interesting, they come from all places of the world. To wipe the larger enemy blob when everything works out is amazing. To discover new possibilities of a long played class is great. For example, I have played my Mesmer main in a lot of different ways. Condi-DPS in open world, the quickness-share built in instanced PvE, Condi-Shatter and PU Mesmer in PvP. But I only recently got into a heal/boonshare-build in large scale WvW fights and love it! And I like the process of gearing my characters for those roles.

The combat and the combat system is what really keeps me hooked now. I would never have expected that when I started this game.

I agree. I also believe that people would vote differently if they held another community vote.

No, just no. It would take control of team composition away from the players and leave us at the mercy of an algorithm. It would hurt classes dependent on team composition most and encourage even more to play selfish builds in soloQ.

You play a single class and want the system cater to you at the expense of multi-class players.

FAVORITE GW2 maps?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

It’s really hard for me to seperate aesthetics from game-play enjoyment, so I will just list my favorite 5 maps:

1. Plains of Ashford (and pretty much any other Ascalon map) because it was my “gateway” map into the game and has many Charr NPCs. I also love the autumn leafy/ great plains style atmosphere.

2. Desert Borderlands Because I like WvW and it is my favourite map due to it’s looks and complexity. Also fell to death countless times there.

3. Temple of the Silent Storm My favourite PvP map layout-wise and atmosphere-wise. It also has the most fun secondary map mechanic that punishes poor strategic decisions extra hard.

4. Bloodstone Fen Awesome design and colors. Also by far my favorite place to gather materials and unbound magic (gliding puzzles).

5. Verdant Brink So beautiful and surreal with the ruins, airship wrecks, caves and little bridges… so much detail. I also like the meta event because of its “descentralized” design.

Honorable mention to Timberline Falls, Orr maps and Mount Mealstrom.

As a member of the gaming community in many, many games over the last 15 years, with many, many friends in them to tell me all about it, plus what I see in chat and, cough, forums, it’s a fair statement. If your particular TS community is pleasant and welcoming, I’m glad to hear it.

Sorry to hear that so apperently many people have bad experiences on TS. I can only speak from my experiences from the GW2 EU WvW communities and those have almost exclusively been positive. And due to the joy of relinking and being on a small (guest) server until recently, I have experienced quite a lot of commanders from different servers.

The one exception was a guy who made bodily noises on purpose on TS. I left TS and the squad and just never joined that particular commander again. Problem solved. Occasionally there will the one person that talks too much for my taste. Mute that client, problem solved. Otherwise, TS is was such an enrichment to my WvW gaming experience that I would never go without again, even if I never speak myself.

Eater of Peeps, I understand that you feel excluded but as many have pointed out, commanders have very good reasons for the requirement. How about you try a compromise next time when you run into that problem. Whisper the commander and tell him/her that you will join TS, but will be unable to hear them due to your hearing impairment. I am very sure that some(!) will understand and invite you anyways. In the end, deaf people have their ways to compensate the lack of hearing in RL and I am sure that that applies to gaming as well (i.e., being very attentive to visual clues… I play with a crappy laptop display and certainly miss out on combat info due to that). You will just have a useless programm running in the backgorund, but at least you can avoid public discussions and save you and the commander the struggle to explain why one person gets a “special treatment”.

Kir Sakar.3647

For the 1st time in your life anet pls do not cave to casuals or players that don’t even care about wvw to lower the Reqs for armor etc.

I feel kinda the same, but I do think its a bit harsh for players that have been around for a little while. They haven’t started early enough and are now kinda “stuck in limbo” of rank farming.

I really don’t see the problem. I got into WvW around 6 months ago and gradually started to spend more and more of my time there (half zerg, half roaming at quiet hours). I am rank 225 and I play the WvW because I like it.

Now I get more rewards – great! The commanders and all the veterans that I have learned and still learn how-to-WvW from get some more rewards – I am very happy for them, they deserve it for their engagement!

I don’t what it is with some people that they always have to focus on the tiniest possibility of being treated unfairly. Sure, there may be a few players that have farmed ranks in EotM. So what? It is boring as kitten (presumably, I have never set a foot in there). And most importantly, it does not take away any reward from me.

Favorite Miniature

Posted by: Kir Sakar.3647

Ha, I need to reply here. I am actually not interested in minis at all but this is different:

When I started GW2 a year ago, I made a mesmer and my guildie a necro. Like most leveling necros, he ran a minionmaster build for quite some time. And I just fell in love with the Shadow Fiend minion. I was really disappointed when the Shadow Fiend disappeared because it is not used in end game builds.

When I opened a random BL chest a few months ago (I do not farm/buy keys, so I rarely get to open one), a Mini-Shade dropped from it! I could’t have been a happier player if I had looted a precurser! <3 Since then, that Shade is always with me.

I found out later that the Mini-Shade is not that expensive at the TP, so I could have bought it without that lucky drop. However, I would not have known about its existence because as I said, I never paid attention to Minis.

Given that there is a squad commander bonus, what if people want to run tagless, how to take advantage of this bonus then?

why would you expect a bonus? If you want to be exclusive and not show the map where your group is running, then you do not deserve the bonus. Generally if you want to run closed with a tag, most people respect that, and if they dont, learn to shake pugs and they’ll leave you alone.

But, tagless still doing their part for the server….why are you so mean to tagless?

Then, what would be the difference between a capable commander running tagless with his guild and say… me, running around “tagless” with my little noob-casual-friends guild? Would I deserve that reward as well?

The tag reward is not meant for some form of participation but for showing up on the map (and being an orientation/help in some form to other players).

how is 5 people “roaming” having their game play ruined by not getting the commanders bonus? In the end, those 5 roamers tend to be a gank squad attributing to very little matchup wise except for killing stragglers and chest thumping. Their game play will remain just the same anyways, except now they may have more than solo and duo roamers trying to get their camp/sentry daily done to kill.

My problem is not that people who run in zergs get rewarded, but rather, those who don’t receive little. As someone pointed out, lone players/scouts and roamers have a place in this game mode, and important ones at that.

Roamers (solo or small groups) are rewarded under the new sytem just as commanders are. You just have to roam while being outnumbered. Players running with the zerg will rarely receive this bonus.

The underwater section of Bitterfrost has 4 coral, so you can get 10 unbound gathers/day plus the coral, and then do a bit of berry farming.

Only 4? It was 6 on Bitterfrost Frontier when I needed Manganese Salt two months ago.

I found that this was by far the most efficient method: Park all your characters under the ice in Bitterfrost Frontier and harvest all 6 corals with them once a day. Takes only ~5 min per character because the node locations are static and the area is quite small (as opposed to other maps with corals). Unless something changed recently.

Trying to get an asura idea that works for me. Thinking about ele, thief (now that condi for them doesn’t suck), or maybe (MAYBE) herald, and specifically for herald, since base rev is unplayable to me.

I think all of those can be a nice fit. My Asura Ele is the only non-Charr character I really love to play. The tiny model feels very dynamic and kiting/dodging is very fun. Plus, the fashy animations fit well, especially on the mobile D/D Ele. So I imagine that the very mobile Rev and Thief class fit similarly well with Asura.

So OP, I am not going to talk sense into you, I fully understand that the race of your character matters.^^

Oddly, I tried a norn and an asura mesmer, and the one that finally did it for me was a charr. Was not expecting that.

Haha, that is interesting, you are the third person in this thread to like the Charr-Mesmer combination even though most consider that as odd.

Female Charr mesmer is my very first and main character (Ash Legion of course). I love everything about her, including the chatter (i find “might means right” or “looks like new territory” hilarious).

After that, for the sake of diversity, I tried out the other races except human. My Asura Ele aside, it just did not click with the others. Even though I like the look of my male Sylvari Revanant and my female Norn Thief, I do not like playing the human-based shape and the animations. It just feels dull to me and I cannot relate to them.

In contrast, even though I find Ranger one of the simpler (or boring) classes, I enjoy playing mine just because he is a Charr. Just taking him for gathering and watching the running/gathering/skill/idle animations is so much fun. Running around on a Shiverpeaks map and knowing that “I” have fur against the cold.

My most recent creation is a classic Charr Guardian. I was not much into the guardian theme before (heavy armor class plus that “saint” thing did not really appeal to me). I mainly created him because they are so useful in WvW large scale fights. Turns out that this character is just amazing and a ton of fun to play, no surprise that so many Charrdians are running around.

So yeah, I am a huge fan of Charrs to the point that I zoom into most of other peoples Charrs I see running around to have a closer look. That being said, Ausuras can be nice as well.

“Na WvW Population Server List” is a very vague description. We need to now how the data was gathered so we know how accurate it ‘can’ be.

Is it server pop total for pvp/pve/wvsw (everything)? IN which case you are misleading people with the description…..it really only gives a vague idea how many in the server might play wvsw (higher clumps likely to have higher pops).

In some forum post an Anet dev stated that population is estimated based on the total WvW levels (excluding EotM) gained on that server in a time interval. Sounds reasonable to me.

You will also have noticed that you will have to do Ember Bay AND Bitterfrost Frontier for your accessories, since you need two different accessories slotted (with the same prefix). Sure, preferably a self-crafted set. First thing I did was craft my frist character a full exotic viper’s set (you would say “a waste of money” but it was fun, and I still use it in WvW).

That would’t have been possible without having my tailor leveled at 400 beforehand. I even had enough gold to buy most of the nesserary lineseed oil and some hardenend leather from the TP. Because leveling isn’t the same as leveling the crafting discipline. Also I never said the other materials aren’t needed.

There are much more important things such as building enough bank to pay for waypoints, gathering tools, upgrades, and equipment. All of that isn’t made by sub t5
materials. So they are turned into gold.

But OP said they are leveling AND want to start a crafting discipline, and that is perfectly fine since crafting progress promotes your leveling progress.

You seem to approach this game in a capitalitic sense, like monopoly: Build up stocks quickly etc. But this is not how this game works, in my opinion. You loose 15% in fees each time you use the TP, so you literally delete gold when selling mats just to buy tham back later.

Also, you really do not need a lot of gold while leveling, especially travelling is cheap. While I was leveling and crafting at the same time, I was occasionally short on materials, but never on gold.

EDIT: We seem to have different philosophies, I strongly dislike the Min/Max approach. Where is the fun in discovery and experimenting?

Up to 80, I would salvage everything and sell everything that isn’t mithril, silk, elder wood, or thick leather (you will need a lot eventually.)

Why would you do that if you are just about to level your first crafting discipline? You need all those materials. It is way more expensive to buy them off the TP later, especially the lower tier materials.

Also it is not true that the other mats are not needed at lvl80, the ascended refined materials use a lot of lower tier materials. And they are harder to come by at lvl80.

I would advise the other way around, keep any crafting mat you can get during leveling and salvage all your old armor during leveling to get materials.

I would start with either a weapon or armor discipline that fits to your class and add one of the generic (chef or jeweler) as a second. The reason is that this spreads your demand of materials more evenly. I started out with Tailor and Artificier as a new player and ALWAYS was short on fangs, claws, scales etc.

Healing Power...Was it Ever Fixed?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Some skills have been shifted toward less base healing but bigger bonus with healing power but its still a little meh since there are limited gear combos and you need like 1000+ to see any real effect (ie sacrifice a ton of other stats).

Worth investing is relative. 3-4 healbot eles in a 50 man zerg can make a massive difference to sustain under pressure. PvE its pointless (maybe in raids I dont know) and likewise in sPvP.

But that depends. There are a couple of popular builds that depend on a moderate amount or healing power (350-500), especially for squisher classes in the PvP modes to get some sustain. Meta sPvP condi Mes uses minor healing power to make use of Restorative Illusions and the various D/D Ele roaming builds in WvW that need it to scale Regeneration and Signet of Restauration passive (?) up without sacrificing too much burst potential.

Lol this is just piling on at this point. The proof is in the pudding even the people that still defend the decision have to admit that the spvp playing population has plummeted from season 4 to now.

Do you have any proof or numbers to back up that claim?

Anet has stated repeatedly that the vast majority of PvP players plays solo. You sure see how this contradicts your argument.

Invigorating torrets was patched in and i immidiatly thought oh my, very bad decision. Heavy water synergy making this mandatory support …. There was much complaning about tempest and low usage and then someone brought torrets as easy sollution trowing diversity in the process to keep up with the power creep from others …

Imagin tempest without torrets…. (And maybe with an offensive trait instead and -20% shour CD on aria …)

I don’t get the complaint… Invigorating Torrents is one of three traits, the other two (Tempestuous Aura and Unstable Conduit) are perfectly offensive.

Why is crafting required for so much?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Kir Sakar.3647

Well, you can rely on drops of chests of ascended gear (raids, fractals, reward tracks, certain events) if you don’t like to craft. It is just very unreliable.

To the question “why”: It is probably to keep the economy healthy, to ensure a steady demand of materials and encourage trade. Also, full asceneded gear is not really needed except for higher tier fractals and there are plenty of ways to aquire exotics beyond crafting.

I really, really, really can’t stress enough how much I don’t want to be a support spec. I don’t want to farm leadership runes and grab an expensive set of alternate gear useless for solo content just so I can do fractals higher than 50.

I don’t agree on the last statement. The meta Beserker/Commander setup is pretty universal in all PvE, open world included. Just switch some utilities and/or weapons for your liking and you can clear mobs and champions well enough. With Sword/x you do as much damage as a mesmer is able to do.

I get the Leadershiprunes issue, but why not slot cheaper runes that give you more damage or toughness (…whatever)?

[WvW roaming] Celestial tempest?

in Elementalist

Posted by: Kir Sakar.3647

Kir Sakar.3647

I am by no means experienced, but I have been experimenting with a full celestrial build in WvW on my Ele for a while now and can share my thoughts.

For me, the fun in Ele lies in the various roles it can fulfill. Before making ascended equipment, I had two sets of exotic armor, trinkets and weapons (Beserker and Magi/Cleric) for her and it really bothered me to be locked into one role at a time while being either super squishy or hitting like a wet noodle. Also, carrying so many weapon and armor parts takes up space. Celestrial seems to provide a really nice baseline “of everything” for Ele that can be customized for different purposes in WvW. I swap out a few trinkets and weapons to skew the stats into the role I want to play.

For example roaming with D/D and two beserker rings, playing Auramancer in a zerg with a ministrel warhorn and amulet/rings to gain the toughness/healing power, or clearing siege with a beserker staff while still having enough healing power to heal up allies at the rams. All of those builds are certainly not super optimal, but I appreciate the flexibility while carrying relatively few items in my inventory.

That being said, for roaming with D/D specifically, I am still trying to figure out an optimal build for my taste. I looked at the builds of the experienced Eles here (Seven’s D/D build and the D/D WET build that is also posted on Metabattle). Both of them rely on somewhat higher power and precision/ferocity than pure cele offers for burst damage and pressure in small scale fights.

Other than those two builds, I would really like to use Fire/Earth/Tempest (my setup is like this http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQJAoYncMAVOgFOA+XC8RgFCALoAEACiD9gXQR0N12artA-T1haABooE0H1fGRPAH7H46DA4vTAAAK/CAgAcz6MAWuyVuyVuy5m38m38mLnUAkOGA-w) with D/D to make use of the hybrid damage of cele but so far I am not very successful and lose almost every duel due to not enough pressure to keep them off and not enough sustain to wear them down (very likely a l2p isssue from my side though, I am new to that weapon set and also not a good player in general…).

Nerfing Taimi

I am talking about ATTITUDE, not fantasy, etc. If you are saying that adults in Tyria all think it is fine to accept a young disabled person into a group that regularly faces horrific situations and mass death, I have to say that I don’t see it.

Could it be that a small, young, physically disabled and female character does not fit into your stereotype of a “hero”? All your talk and comparisons about the hirarchy of NATO and the physical requirements for elite Seal teams implies you habor a narrow “strong man” ideal. Then, of course, Taimi will never be “believable” to you. I, for one, appreciate that Tyria is more diverse than that and has more to offer than physical force to win a battle (like magic and engineering, as others have pointed out).

Why don’t we have someone from the top ranks of Asura culture who has already proven themself?

Because unlike in the real world, where this great concept of hirarchy (“top ranks”) has somehow blessed us with with a billionaire with the interlectual capacity of a slice of toast and a relaxed relationship with the truth as “leader of the free world”, maybe in ANets fantasy world we as PCs are more prudent and value actual merit and loyality over social standing.

This is why good server matching and balancing is imperative, to the growth and health of the WvW game mode. Then the opportunities for cherry picking will be almost non existent.

Maybe I miss something, but how are they supposed to do that without simultaneously shutting down all transfer between servers?

Because the best population balance is wasted if just one very active guild transfers from one server to the opposing one after balancing.

People in AG were (when we teamed up) kind, supportive, and jolly. True, their wvw tactics and play were not that good, but neither ours. So we lost together while having fun. Server merging should be permanent, and should be made “carefully”. What we have now is idiotic. One day it is your best pal, next day your sworn enemy.

Yeah, I agree. I have always been on Blacktide and since I started playing WvW (maybe 6 months ago) we have been linked to Aurora Glade, Gunnars Hold and now Piken Square. Even though I enjoy playing with all of them, it makes feeling loyality and caring about the outcome of the match more difficult. I wish they stopped the relinking or at least make it far less frequent.

But there is also some responsibilty with the players. I only play very casually, but even then I witnessed “fair-weather” play (people only logging in when we were winning) and odd shifts in population from one month to the other, especially at night time. There is no way ANet can change that people cherry-pick.

Class Role Inquiry

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kir Sakar.3647

Kir Sakar.3647

Adding to Malice’s comment on PvE roles, in sPvP, mesmers are one of the best dueling classes. They are also quite mobile and have unique utilities (portal most importantly). Rather than buffing teamfights, they can create advantages and map control in Conquest by using their mobility and portal wisely.

That is incredibly fun, but also extremely hard. I still lack the map awareness and strategic mind to play Mesmer efficiently in sPvP, so I learned a different class to not kitten-off my teammates too often. xD

Edit: WvW, similar story. Stealth, portal, mobility etc. make it a very nice roaming class.

Looking for class help

Hello, I am trying to find a class that has a battlemage feel to it. Kind of like playing a melee range mage in ESO. I want to deal dps or be more support based. Please help me i know this isnt much to go on and i am interested in more pve content then i am pvp

I don’t know ESO, but I feel that Mesmer (the chronomancer elite specialization with sword/shield) sounds very much like what you describe.

In higher organized group content, the class is used mainly in a unique support role, buffing your party’s damage by giving quickness and alacrity (and sometimes for tanking, since you have a lot of ways of active damge mitigation with mesmer). I find it a ton of fun, and it really feels like a light-armor warrior with lots fancy purple animations and sounds.

Elementalist is the other obvious option. However, I never played deggar/deggar Ele in PvE. I feel since the class has less evades/blocks/invulns, it is not possible to snug up to a boss in the way you can with a mesmer(?).

Constructive Feedback on Leather Prices

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kir Sakar.3647

Kir Sakar.3647

Think of it as having to wait 2 months to craft something of basic necessity. Its not ascended (or legendary) gear, its exotic. It is heavily implied by Anet that exotic is normal (or “default”) lvl 80 gear, all HoT openworld content was balanced for it.

But full lvl80 exotic gear is not a necessity at all, and that is the point. I have been playing GW2 for 8 months now and leveled my crafting disciplines from the beginning. At no point I had issues with leather prices as a new/leveling player.

I played Orr in greens/rares and maybe a lvl72 or 78 exotic here and there and started out in HoT maps in mixed and matched lvl80 rares and exotics. It works. Crafting or buying a full set of exotics was my first “long-term” goal as a new player. So I did not see a problem with it being more difficult to get.

In the end it took me 4-6 weeks after reaching lvl80 to craft my first set (light vipers armor and two vipers weapons), without grinding or farming of any kind. Just by playing the game and using the TP.

I agree with those who say that older players are more bothered by the high prices than newer players. Now that I am accustomed to full exotics and even ascended, I get more impatient to gear alts. It is purely psychological in my case.^^

+1 to this request, that would be so nice! But I also see that it is probably too much effort…

I think Charr have nipples, but they are covered by fur, so they can show bare chests.
Asura are a .. unique.. thingy. They can also show bare chests, without a nipple. And to be honest, considering their evolutionary line and how close they are to amphibious ancestors, I don’t think they really have nipples at all (even if this were a mature game)

Ha! In the wiki it even says they have two rows of nipples, just like other felines. However, I was really baffled when I created my first character (female Charr) and saw that she is wearing this bra-like underwear by default! I mean, that doesn’t make sense at all and it looks really strange/ugly.

American puritanism taken too far! ANet, #freethecharrnipple please.

Thanks for a refreshing positive opinion, I agree.

I don’t have the long-term perspective. I have been in sPvP since S4 and did not have much motivation to play ranked back then. The mixed queue and the fact that there was no real competitive, transperent ranking system were not very appealing.

Season 5 changed that for me (300 games played, a lot for a casual like me). I am learning and improving since then and hope that solo-duoQ and the rating system are here to stay.
