The problem is not the normal auto attack! Is all about “Pop Quickening Zephyr… what is this?” That’s the real problem QZ doesn’t work properly on auto-attack, that’s what you need to address.

I’m taking a break right now cos the Ranger is way more underwhelming than I ever thought it would be. Traits are really crappy, pets are absolutely useless in WvW except bears cos they’re the only ones who can take a beating a bit, almost all our weapons are just so….meh.
I really hope they change things up though. Every RPG/MMO I’ve ever played I have played as a ranger class. I don’t want to switch ):

We want Hard bosses! Once they get them, they say they are too hard, aka Gigantus Lupicus and Subject Alpha (which both are doable and showed off many people).
We want longer dungeons! We got Arah explorable that some past last 1h-2h+, people can’t finish it cause they go total berseker on it or thinking that bosses are going to be standing, tanking, healing and dps them, without changing the mentality that this is a new game, and they can’t finish, they QQ that dungeons are hard.
To be honest I’m fed up, everytime if I don’t go with people that does listen and follow is a chaos, once I get a person that comes to TS3 talks with us, tell us the skills, what we can do and combine ourselves, it’s the way to go and this takes 5MIN!
I think many feel the way I do, people nowadays complain more than actually play and camp forums.
Complain about bugs, and do suggestions to make the game better, sometimes you can get angry and such, but do not complain about things that are up to me and deny that they exist, like many people do.

Well I ended farming for like 3 hours straight, usually before the patch I would go for 30mins to 1.5 hours before hitting DR. So I guess its kind of ‘relaxed’ as they have said and its more easier to get loot.

We post a lot about pets, Spirits, traits, skills from pets that doesn’t work…
And we don’t get a single Dev Answer at all, that would be nice too, dragging a bit of attention to that part of the forum, cause the real thread was there and has way more posts than this one.
We have spirits that are not near usable, pets that aggroes everything and collapses everything and non responding, ur dps was suffering already, and you needed to do this.
Seriously pop quickening zephyr now, see shortbow shooting, ????, profit.
I feel like leveling another class now, this is just absurd.

The biggest nail in the coffin on the whole “FoV is detrimental to gameplay or performance” contention is the fact that myself and many others use triple monitors to obtain an enormous FoV with almost no negative impacts to game experience.
Why would it then not be possible to increase FoV for single screen users with less powerful graphics cards and just have them decrease shaders or textures if performance is that much of a concern, makes no sense.
I saw this many times, and I can’t have the same experience as other friends of mine cause I don’t have 3 monitors? PLEASE come on.

I must agree dungeons need better rewards, and he has reason, doesn’t pay off 3H in Arah, for 60 tokens and 26s, where I have to fight 6-7 bosses, and after 3h I get 3 blues and 26s + 60 tokens… em.. no thanks, and btw we don’t die much.
It’s quite bad reward wise.
- Looking at the numbers this morning, we believe some of the threshold systems are just too harsh empirically and we’ll be adjusting those systems within the next few weeks to ensure that fewer legitimate players are being impacted.
In a few weeks all my mates will be keeping to lose interest in this game, which we really like, but all those systems that should affect the 5% of the population between bots and exploiters is affecting everyone else, I have no idea how you want us to get 180 gold just for a pre-legendary weapon, if you don’t want us to farm a bit.
I seriously got amazed by " A FEW WEEKS" I was used to GW1, when a build was to powerful or something was broken it was fix the same night or next day, here we are dealing with bugs since 1 month 2 weeks AGO.
- I do agree fully in this point, is the worse thing having a pet on you in this case and bosses.
- pets aggro mobs, stand on the edges of walls and ledges giving enemies below a clear target. I am on the wall and my pet decides to walk to the very edge of the wall and enemies spam AoE forcing me to stay far away from any edges
- Sometimes it comes to you, and doesn’t heal at all. I must add this too besides the full heal.
- downed state pet heal sucks. pet runs over to your location and doesnt get set to full health. They easily die before they reach the ranger.

Ranger in PvE General, not going into PvP for now:
WEAPONS
The variety of weapons is quite alright, I do like how many we can choose from, the fact I don’t like are such as:
- Greatsword: greatly unbuffed the damage for release, it’s a really cool weapon, it just doesn’t pay off to use it versus other weapons.
- Longbow: “auto attack” damage, makes sense the as more range more damage, but short of I don’t think is a good way to go since you can’t be always at 1500, and this weapon is clearly a really strong base when it comes to “all-in-one”, supportive, AoE, survavility, group help.
- As for the rest of weapons, I do really like them, in a side note, 1H-Sword sometimes auto-attacking really don’t work with dodge, you should really check this Arenanet guys.
SPIRITS
They became one of the “nostalgia” GW1 features for me, but not as powerful or useful as they were:
- Their range is short, really short, and the buffs has a “chance” to trigger, this is totally horrible, when I see a warrior putting 2 banners, being immortal and having a buff all the time up, which is better than mine, makes it totally worthless.
- The only one you can say it does a nice job is the Elite Skill, but that’s about it, since it aggro everything around and dies in a couple of seconds.
PETS
I have a really good feeling with them when it comes to solo PvE, but when it comes to dungeons;
- I must disagree with just “you need to command it better!” sorry but this is not a fair point for me and much others anymore, they feel clunky, don’t response well to the command come back, and the worst of it is “I come back to you, but keeping a range from you of 5-10 meters!”, does aggro everything or just pull mobs randomly (like the sparks at Dwayna in Arah…)
- My DPS gets really cutt’d off like 30% (when it’s dead or just calling it all time to not die, or even putting it on “relax mode..”), others say 40% don’t know can be as well dependent on build. I really don’t like this on bosses, like “Giganticus, dwanya priest, CoE bosses…” or any other one that does AoE damage. As much as you want your pet to be near you, is going always to be 5-10 meters away from you as close (as stated before), this makes it get killed, take to much damage, is not viable.
- Why Arenanet didn’t implement like in GW1 to withdraw the pet on your will, why it needs to be a substantial amount of my dps going into it. Some people made really good post about this, as example: give us 25% buff damage if we withdraw the pet! (is just an example), so a good answer will be appreciated.
- Said this: I have absolutely respect for anyone wanting to play with pets, I like it too, just sometimes is totally inconvenient or unnecessary.
ARROWS
Alright, this is the biggest problem of this game when it comes to a ranger, pop-up quickness, shoot arrows, enemies moving, obstructed, miss. Please, what is this, they were not evading, not rolling, not covering damage, not buffing themselves, just moving side to side laughing in my face in WvWvW, and as PvE.. mob runs to next target, I miss half of my shots. This is just to much guys, and I hope you fix this soon enough, I didn’t see an answer for this, and makes me worry a lot.
This are my thoughts guys, I might have some misspelling in English, sorry about that. I just really wanted to share this with everyone, I found my class to be not really complete and a bit left out, which made me quite sad.

Create a system that works, stop putting systems that doesn’t work, builded up quickly, and affecting all players.
I can’t be more than 10min killing the same mob, I can’t do a dungeon under 30min, I can’t… Man I just wanna play the game the way I want, but with this Dungeons, that doesn’t let me join parties in my own server, not even enter them, or even with other friends on other servers. Tokens don’t stack, old items most of them either like the obsidian shard. 15 tokens when I finish an instance after 2 days, 10min killing mobs I get no drop…
I can’t take it anymore :/
Even if they “fix” the Dungeon rewards, the farming is still kittened. “Play like you want…unless we don’t want you to play that way.”
I’m suffering this constantly every 15-20min I’m in a zone, and actually the instances DR too, is just the most annoying 2 systems I’ve ever seen in my life, maybe I wanna farm to get a legendary weapon, but I can’t play the way I want it, that’s the whole point this guy wants to say, and I do too.
It brings back nostalgia, yes they are relics from the past, but look into this:
Spirit didn’t generate aggro whatsoever like this ones does, and the range of spirits was enormous, so I could place them far away and survive and let my party get the buffs ( all the time ) and not to have a chance for it, which makes them more useless.
And I give again the warriors banners, permanents buffs (which are better..), you can move them, use them, and in the top of that don’t take damage.
I really don’t know why there’s so huge difference, not to say as well the Necromancer pools.

They look more like an oversight to me. When ArenaNet nerfed a lot of the Ranger stuff a few betas ago, they didn’t seem to really check their math or playtest it to see the effects of the nerf. On top of that, a lot of the Ranger skills and traits didn’t “mature” as the other professions did. As a result, a lot of the Ranger skills are in a weaker state than they should be.
After reading this, my face is :<
Why our spirits, die instantly by a mob touch or player, give buffs “randomly having a chance”?
Compared to the banners of warriors; better buffs (constant, they don’t have a CHANCE), inmortal, you can take them and actually give buffs, like speed for the whole party around you?

All rewards are susceptible to our code that is dealing with people who are speed clearing dungeons. This means that if you are speed clearing and then play some new chain for the first time it may not reward the full 60 tokens. If you find yourself getting less rewards consider whether or not your rate of dungeon completion is extremely high.

From what I’ve understand – DR for speed clearing also applies for clearing the path first time. And I agree- it’s plain stupid.
45min and first run of everyone*, posting in rage mode is not good
Done now HotW after 2 days without logging cause of this system, I got 15tokens and 2,6s, we did this in 15min, everyone else got between 60 and 45, and was their own run too.
I’m tired of this, once you put a system that does not punish EVERYONE I will be glad to play, for now I will enjoy myself doing something else, cause in the end I am not going to recover all those tokens anyway.
this: friends already stopping to play bcs of this… noone wants to run dungeons to die xx times for random reward im glad i can run dung once a day because of work and i dont even get proper reward

Take off this system, for nearly 2 weeks, my guild members which are not speed clearing are getting not the rewards it should be, and everyone we are asking is the same all over.

Which is not working, as the system before this one, and they both are making the experience really negative.
Please take it off till you can pull something better, because instead of putting down th e people that does speedclears, you are putting down everyone.

I sum this idea up of the loot holder, it’s terrible annoying to be looting “small bags” in the middle of a fight, IDK how many I lost already..!
