Yet, you keep logging in and keep doing the same thing expecting different results?

The best way to fix the issue is to stop doing the content and or stop spending money in the gem shop.

The only way Anet will change anything is if it affects their pocketbook.

This game does not reward you well for doing high caliber things. Its sad and stupid that way. Who knows maybe they will stop doing this to their player base. Repetitive things should give less gold than once a day fights.

As for enjoying the content… you can really only enjoy something a million times before it becomes repetitive which most things in this game do become very easily.

And this above post is why just recently two entire guilds I know just quit. Each day more and more people I know are leaving the game for other options. What this tells me is they all can’t be wrong as they all have the exact same complaints.

There has been and probably always will be a very large lack of rewards or rewarding feelings in this game. The play it because it’s fun or you enjoy the content only works so long. Keep in mind the game as of today is close to exactly the way it was over a year ago when it was released.

Someone phrased it very well though – Thinking anything in GW2 will change at this point is an exercise in futility.

Now go enjoy your year old content.

Some guildies want to start dungeoning

Also, Explain to them that the only difference in zerker is the amount of time it takes them to complete something. That is it.

Zerker is not the end all be all that people make it out to be.

In a pug setting I’ve seen all zerker groups who die left and right and been in pugs where people were mixed gear sets and we did the content faster.

Zerker is not the absolute – some players actually preform better with different gear sets.

At the end of the day – dead dps does no dps and the amount of time it takes to bring up a downed player negates any DPS advantage zerker might have had since you not only loose that player but require another to stop dps’ing to rez said player – so you are now down 2.

You're Not Zerker?! *kicks from party*

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Azreell.1568

I notice. I just don’t call people on it. I leave that to the “ping gear or kick” crowds.

If anything, I’ll usually make comments in guild chat. And when I’m done with a party, I’ll just say, “Welp, done. G’luck all. May your guardians always have reflect handy.”

Actually it’s impossible for you to notice without a damage meter.

So, I’m going to call you out on this.

Even in zerker gear peoples dps and performance very GREATLY.

So , You can have someone in full zerker doing terrible dps and someone in for example in celes or zealot doing more simply because they are playing better and and using their cds and rotations appropriately.

So no offense but I call bs on your statement.

It’s not unreasonable to know the approximate damage to expect from each class. Can you tell how much one person is doing in AC, where everything dies immediately no matter what? Probably not. Can you tell in Arah or CoE or Fractals? Absolutely.

Requiring zerker with no ping is fine because there usually will only be a handful of people cheating like you, and most will follow the request. That’s always enough in the low-level dungeons.

Having experienced the highest levels of fractals as well as completing / solo’ing Arah , I will be the first to tell you – It is still impossible for you to be able to tell which person is doing less damage in any group. The difference even in Arah, CoE or Fractals is minimal unless you are running with a static group.

Also, As I said once again – A person in full zerker does not ensure the maximum damage for that particular spot due to player skill , spec and class.

It’s simply a stigma.

Also, To clarify – I was not cheating as I have stated prior I have full ascended zerker sets which at any point in time I could have put on – but the point is it was never required nor asked.

This stigma is similar to people desiring heavies only for parties or warriors only thinking they are the highest dps.

The bottom line is without a ping there isn’t a person alive who is going to be able to tell if any particular player is wearing zerker or not if they are playing the class with even the smallest amount of skill.

Anyone who gets kicked from a party for lack of zerker is doing something wrong far beyond gear.

OP is right tho, yolo Q is full of bunkers. Killing each other takes 3 hours which is not fun.

I prefer taking longer to kill someone then instant killing people in 5 seconds.

Longer fights require more skill and thought – not just fast reflexes to win.

Lolz at beating scripted ai being as hard to beat as players Byron. There is no group of five players with half of brain that couldnt learn to beat any pve content in this game in fairly short order. Take those five players and they could train forever and probably not be able to beat the EU tournament of legends winners. The fact of the matter is that there is a huge discrepency in twitch skills and decision makers between different human players. The AI never gets any smarter he is programmed to do something at a certain level. Sure you can bump him up and then everyone adjusts to him. How can you adjust to a player that is always faster and smarter then you? The answer is you can’t and you don’t.

The actual fact is PvP in this game is very twitch based more so then strategy or tactics.

The problem is twitch or fast reflexes don’t exactly measure skill – it measures an individuals reaction time not skill level.

So while you may be a faster player – that doesn’t necessarily mean you are the smarter player.

Slippery slope you started with your comment.

Also, for in my experience playing mmorpgs since UO/EQ1 PvP player’s tend to not be nearly as good in PvE and vice versa.

Odd how that works out.

Best WvW class

in WvW

Posted by: Azreell.1568

Azreell.1568

All classes have their role in WvW. Even certain ranger builds are highly viable.

Best overall is guardian, followed by elementalist. Both are highly flexible in terms of play style.

Guardian roamers are really underestimated.

That’s because roaming is not only having the ability to fight and win when required but also to be able to flee a fight when you can’t win or out numbered.

Thus why so many classes are actually not good at roaming. The ability to break combat for a roaming class is more powerful then the ability to kill on one.

So true. I used to be an ele roamer, but always had a hard time against necros, so I made one. Necromancers are truly awesome in 1v1/x, but I get so frustrated when I get zerged because I can never disengage.

Oh I know since I main a necro, but roam on mesmer.

The classes who can disengage more easily usually make the best roamers.

A majority of the new talents are USELESS. I mean they simply have no enjoyable factor to them and have a very generic feel.

The dungeon changes made me question Anet’s sanity. Why would you implement a change that would have the effect of less people doing your pve content?

The ferocity change it what it is. It won’t create build diversity , it will simple cause players to take longer to kill mobs in pve – nothing more.

Overall this patch once again pushed the game in a direction I am no longer interested in following.

I honestly gave Anet the benefit of the doubt with this – Heck , I even bought some gems (something I said i wouldn’t do again until after patch day) prior to the patch.

I regret doing such.

It feels like we have less then what we had at release.

What I find interesting is all the people defending the game still and saying this was nothing more then a patch to set the foundation for future patches.

Funny thing about that above statement, what exactly was the first 1.5yrs then? Every single patch we keep hearing the same thing, this was for the foundation and wait to see what we have in store for you guys soon.

The problem is “Soon” never comes……………….

Marketing GW2

Azreell.1568

There really hasn’t been anything to advertise other than the original game. We haven’t been given any new permanent content other than some FotM levels.

You seem to only believe that its worth playing the game if new content is permanent. I think that simply may mean this isn’t the game for you as its point is creating a living world with things happening once. That’s it big selling point.

Actually, From my experience and what I have seen on many serves you are in the minority with your viewpoint on this.

Anyone returning to the game now will notice one very large thing. The game is almost identical to how it was at release in terms of content. That for many players is a very big turn off and no no.

The game is over a year old and we are just now getting a patch most games would have received in the first 3 months – that in itself is another large issue.

The player base is reducing on many servers. I have seen tons upon tons of friends and active guilds leave over this and even more so most recently. The problem Anet has is the repetitiveness of the game due to a lack of new content. The LS boiled down to nothing more then zerg encounters for achievement points.

It’t natural for a game this old now to have some player base bleeding, but quite frankly as it stands now Anet doesn’t give any of these players a reason to ever come back.

Believe it or not word of mouth has a very large impact on the gaming industry. The reason you are hearing GW2 “failed” is because there are tons of people who played this and noticed all these problems which never got addressed.

Do I like GW2 – sure. But, I have started playing less and less due to the reasons above, and I’m not the only one who feels this way.

Population falling ?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

It’s obvious the game’s population is dropping.

The game is a year old so some player base bleeding is expected. There are also other games out or coming out so the player base will take another hit – some temporary some permanent losses.

But, one of the biggest reasons at the moment you are seeing people leave is the game is almost exactly the same today as a year ago in terms of content.

People are just bored or not happy with a games direction. When players get bored or unhappy they look elsewhere.

Nothing new in the cycle of MMORPGS.

Seeing other players damage?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Azreell.1568

Azreell.1568

GW2 will never wee any type of damage meters or the ability to see other players damage done.

The reason is simply this game has such blatant balance issues Anet would never let something out that proves just how bad it is.

Also, While damage meters are not a bad thing as they give players more information to improve the problem they would also bring is that certain classes/specs would never get a group again if this was ever released with GW2 in it’s current state.

I myself like damage meters , but I understand with such bad balance why Anet won’t allow this.

The Reason You Don't See Many Good Rangers

in Ranger

Posted by: Azreell.1568

Azreell.1568

The RNG factor just makes the Ranger a harder profession to master, and its not going away, because the Ranger is supposed to be a pet class, where you are effectively controlling the actions of 2 characters instead of 1. The Best Rangers are able to take advantage of the Pet’s Strength’s instead of complaining about the Pet’s Weaknesses. The Bad Rangers are the ones who don’t like to use the pet.

So we should work twice as hard for half the results.

Gotcha – makes perfect sense.

Azreell.1568

Sorry but I might play a bit to try and finish WvW Season 2, but I no longer am addicted. Until they change a lot of stuff, I’m not going to drop another cent at this game.

How do you drop another cent on this game when there is no monthly fee?

You can moan in the forums as long as you want. If you want to hit them really hard, you just stop buying gems. I think lots of people used to do that and I think lots of those people will step away from buying any more stuff if they don’t make the game more thrilling.

That’s the point… Why am I dropping cash on a game that isn’t adding permanent new interesting stuff to the game? Why am I dropping 10+ a month if they almost didn’t add permanent stuff? Where is my money going? I don’t like how it’s turning, so no more gems for me.

It has been proven that sub games offer more bang for your buck.

In fairness Anet has to make a profit and GW2 is not free as many people keep trying to say.

But, The micro transaction model nickle and dimes each and every player if given the chance and the fanboi’s will tell you that you don’t have to spend a dime – but the honestly truth is YES people do have to spend money on the gem shop in order for GW2 to continue to be profitable and stay open.

It costs more for the above then a simple sub fee and you also get more with a sub fee.

Also, This next patch offers many changes but none of which is any type of content. The next time we see something will likely be after season 2 which is FAR FAR to long.

Seriously? Sub games offer more bang for the buck? Where is this supposed ‘proof’ of that claim that you speak of? In my own experiences, I have played several $12-15 monthly games that offer far less. And I know lots of people in game that exchange the gold they have earned in game for gems to get the ‘special’(it really isn’t that special) items, content, what have you without spending a dime of real cash. (Yup, they’re hard core players and play A LOT to get that kind of gold…..hard core players have always been rewarded in mmos)

Sure, there will always be people who buy gems with real game cash……and Anet has set that up to make more money…..they’re a business, after all…..they don’t charge a monthly fee….so of course they want a way to get more cash flow coming in. But it isn’t something that is mandatory for a player to have effective fun in the game, unless you’re some kind of gear freak/gotta have all the extra items-snazzies sort of player.

You must think you have to buy tons of gems with real cash to get anything out of the game, which just is not true.

And yea, there are probs with the game(ALL mmos have their own set of probs/bugs/etc), but over all, IMO, it’s still a ton of fun most of the time.

And yea, I have been on mmorpg forums long enough to know that disagreeing with the whiners labels me as a ‘fanboi’. So what?

It’s JUST a game. Not having to pay a monthly fee is a big deal to me, and I would imagine, a few other players. Buying gems with real money is a choice…..unlike the monthly fee that one is required to pay to play a lot of other mmorpgs.

If you have gotten tired of the game and don’t play, why not just find something else to have fun with, rather than wasting time posting about how awful the game is. Obviously the game wasn’t that bad if you’re still so emotionally attached to it that you feel the need to spew your grief over it all here…..lol.

That’s a pretty long rant for my very short post.

Just to clarify You do realize GW2 as of today is almost no as it was at release.

You also realize that the amount of permanent content added in a years time is little to none.

Also, If you logged off prior to the LS and took a break for almost a year and came back now you would notice the game is basically the exact same with little to no content added.

This new update coming is something most sub games get every few months – not in a years time.

I like GW2 but you get what you pay for and in terms of content we get very little.

See the relevance?

It’s a dead issue anyhow. ANet raised the server capacities again (or a lot of people in <insert poorly implemented competing MMO here>) and there is no incentive to destack.

The problem lies in that every time they have put in free transfers; a Flavor of the Month bandwagon forms.
SBI was the highest ranked server with a cheaper transfer cost; so it became a bandwagon. HoD was free to xfer to, so it’s become a bandwagon.

So people should play and stay on a dead or losing server.

I like being strong and all, but…come on! Wasn’t one of the promises of GW2 that you would be scaled down in low lvl areas to make content challenging? And I thought a while back they increased the difficulty a bit more. But I don’t see it…

Does anyone else remember “Hard Mode” in GW1 when even low areas became fresh again? Where each hard mode zone was as tough as the other? There is zero reason for me to be careful, to make sure I don’t over aggro…

Come on Anet. Make your stuff challenging!

By challenging if you mean more annoying then no.

A mob hitting harder isn’t any more challenging in a lowbie area – it’s just more annoying.

Because exciting game play isn’t exciting after the 100th time doing it.

So then the only reason beyond that to continue with the content would be the rewards.

GW2 at launch has had issues with time investment vs reward. Over the course of the games life span it has begun to slowly improve and thus more people are doing more things.

Also, and this is related to one of the above posters. Hardcore player’s are not the target audience of this game and never were – they make up far to small a percentage of the player base. It’s a casual game with a casual mind set thus most (not all) of the designs will be based on that ideology.

Holy Trinity and Compromise

Why not let the builds be trinity? Nobody wants trinity! Nobody wants to be waiting in LFG asking for a half spec healer type compromise build any more than they want to be waiting for a full trinity healer. That is not better than the status quo and never will be better than the status quo. If nobody needs a compromise healer, like now, then nobody will ask for one and the role is redundant anyway. You can go into the dungeon as a healer if you like right now. There’s nothing to stop you if you want to play with like minded people.

If a group needs more healing, CC, condition cures, finishers, mobility, etc then they can already change utilities and weapons to do that. Trinity is dead. RIP.

Odd, Since many people wait in LFG now without a trinity.

Also the dungeon system as a whole as well as LFG is VERY VERY quiet as of late.

Something has turned people off to both and while I have my opinions on why it’s been dead – we will save that for another post.

The problem in this game is beyond sitting at the TP flipping things non stop all day – acquiring gold in this game is getting to the point where the gem shop is seemingly the most viable way.

The whole End Game mentality that people have in MMO’s is severely flawed the way I see it. Its true in the past most MMO’s have been about end game… but it shouldn’t be like that, it should be about the journey not the destination makes sense no?

That would make sense but the problem is that you will spend the majority of your play time at max level or end level – hence the end game comments and the desire for things to do.

No matter what the journey is – it eventually ends are you are then stuck at a level cap.

In games it’s the destination that matters and pays the bills for game companies.

SWTor had the best journey to date in any mmorpg and failed miserably (granted it made a decent come back as a f2p model) due to having nothing to do at release when players hit level cap.

That above example disproves your theory.

Champ trains should have been nerfed a long time ago, seriously. I don’t agree on the nerf on the dynamic events though.

Wonder if this will have a significant effect against gold inflation.

I disagree with this 100%.

Anet just removed something MANY players enjoyed or at least wanted to do.

With no new content on the horizon anytime soon – I think this was a very bad idea and even worse timing.

It seems apparent that Anet is trying to slow down all aspects of the game not just DPS. That’s wonderful and all but making things take longer does not replace giving them something to do.

Revenant,

New experiences ?

Farming the Knights and Scarlet for AP and chests with about the worst writing I have seen in an mmorpg you consider interesting?

Each living story was nothing more then a farm or zerg farm for AP/loot.

The only ignorance is yours thinking that GW2 is not based off the same systems other games are. It’s just as grindy if not much more so .

The one place I will give Anet credit is in the last living story rewards. They at least felt appropriate.

I hope they are prepearing for a new loot system t encourage players to play the dungeons/bosses with the motivation that amazing stuff can drop instead of, gold focused mechanics.

The problem is that gold is by FAR the most valuable thing in game. EVERYTHING you could possibly want, you can get with gold. Which in itself wouldn’t be so bad, the bigger problem is: for most things you might want, the ONLY way to get them is by farming gold.

That’s the problem with a reward system that depends almost entirely on RNG. If you get lucky and get a rare RNG drop, you can make a killing on the TP. If you don’t, you will have to grind for weeks and months to be able to buy what you want off the TP. It’s a lottery based system which doesn’t make for enjoyable or rewarding gameplay, sadly.

The nice part of the game though, is that you get Gold for everything. sPVP, WvW, PvE, crafting (if you’re clever with it). There’s little reason for you to grind the same thing over and over again, when you can just play the entirety of the game and make Gold doing it.

You are playing the game I would like to have. You get gold for everything, yes. But for the most part, it’s abysmal low and not worth the effort.

I play the game to have fun, not for a job. If you guys really are wanting some kind of extravagant return, I recommend doing something in real life that will get you it because a video game is not supposed to satisfy every little thing in your life.

Lol. Getting rewards is the very reason for MMO’s to exist. Get gear to be better. That’s all about it. You get no bonus if you get some friends in to complete events, you don’t get a bonus for helping all the npc’s. All you get is gold. And all you can do with gold is buying gear to “impress” other players. If you want to play for fun, you can also buy a WII. But that’s not what I want.

If those are your sole reasons, then it sounds like you have some inadequacies that you need to address before you can get better.

Why do people, for the most part, log in? Is it because the game is thrilling or does the game has gorgeous graphics? None of those. It’s pretty good but that’s no long-term goal. If you want the players to keep playing your game, you have to keep them satisfied. The graphics and the gameplay are a good start, but the game has to deliver more than that to keep it’s players. I have played this game now for one and a half year now and neither graphics nor gameplay keep me playing GW, it’s the reward I get. And the reward is pretty low. So if ArenaNet wants to keep me as player, they have to deliver some proper rewards or stories (which they failed up until now). You may have fun playing this game. But when the graphics and the gamplay become ordinary and the story isn’t satisfying anymore, the game has to convince with other qualities.

The whole “brand new sword” carrot on a stick tactic just doesn’t cut it anymore. It’s why everyone kittenes about Diablo and everyone kittens about whatever MMO they are currently playing. It’s not 2001 anymore, there are too many good games out there to tie yourself to one, grinding the same crap over and over, in order to get a marginally better sword. You all say that’s what you want, but yet all I see is kittening in all the games that provide that type of carrot.

GW2 at least gives new stories and experiences to play through, through the Living Story.

You do realize you just explained GW2 also – right?

A player just logged into the game after a year of absence – How exactly has the game evolved since then beyond farming for skins, farming for money and farming for marginally and I mean MARGINALLY better gear?

This game is almost identical to release. So if you have done 1 character map exploration and story which most have done by now – what exactly is left to do?

Oh wait – that’s right – grinding the same crap here as in other games…….

Pot meet kettle.

I’m surprised that they think this will stop the flood of players leaving for ESO.

Or that we needed to wait five+ months for these changes.

Flood? I beta-tested it. No way there will be a flood. The game, when I played it, sucked.

I was just talking about this today in queensdale actually.

People who havent played it have a lot of faith in it but the actual game is very boring. There will be an initial flood but as the game doesn’t really bring anything new to the table, it’ll last a few months before it’s forgotten by most.

See the thing is this.

What people fail to realize is sub games are less impacted by players not logging on then micro transaction games.

For the few months people try these new games – even if they don’t like them and don’t stay Anet makes absolutely zero money since the majority of their revenue is from the gem shop.

It’s been proven with sub games that people generally don’t cancel right away while trying other titles since subs are assumed reasonably affordable.

Between Teso and Wildstar GW2 will loose people just as other games do as well. Add into the fact that we will see no new content till at least june and people may stay gone a bit longer longer then you think.

But on the flipped side of the coin, there’s also the advantage of GW2 being B2P instead of P2P. It’s the reason I’m not playing FF14.

I got the box, and some recent additions intrigue me. But the fact that I need to pay to check them out is a barrier to re-entry for me. With GW2, if an interesting update comes along, I’d probably jump in just to check them out, and maybe, if I like them enough, I’ll spend some money on gems.

I understand but we will use the apparently hated game “Wow” on these forums.

I have had an active sub since the game launched. Even now while playing GW2 I have an active sub because quite frankly 14-15 a month isn’t going to break anyone and like it or not its the game I always fall back on since it does more things right in the end as much as I may hate to admit it then other games on the market.

GW2 I have invested in as well , but quite frankly after a year I feel I have not gotten my moneys worth out of anything but the box price. I am reluctant to use the gem shop again untill the Ascended Celestial problem is clarified and if they offer some type of consolation.

My point is what Anet has taught me is you get what you pay for when it comes to mmorpgs. Sub based game’s for whatever reason simply seem to offer far more value and content then any micro transaction game to date.

I was hoping GW2 would break that cycle but so far it hasn’t imo.

Comparing those lists to GW2 shows how truly horrible GW2s list of added content really is. It doesnt even come close to one expansion, much less two that were launched in the same timeframe as GW2s “living” story.

Not to mention there wasn’t a cash shop nickel and dimeing the players at every chance they could. Just where is all the money going to?

Rude comment, but again most of your posts in this thread have been rather illogical. You really should take a step away from the computer for a bit. You do not have to spend a dime on the gem shop, you can use in game gold.

Perhaps you and many of the people like you are the reason that Anet is so lack luster in it’s development cycle.

The GW2 gem shop exists so Anet and Ncsoft can make a profit first and foremost. The game requires a profit to continue to function. No gem shop sales means no GW2.

That is obviously a difficult ideal for people like you to comprehend. GW2 is not free and it’s just another way to do the same thing. Features you see being released in the manner they are released with micro transactions are nothing more then a sub fee broken down to smaller amounts.

The collection expander is something that would come for free in a sub based game, but for us it costs a certain amount.

This is not a complaint this is simply a reality. The game first and foremost is created to generate revenue and if and when the revenue reduces it’s development slows down or the game ceases to exist.

Once again GW2 does not survive and box sales – It survives on gem shop sales.

So someone heard about anet adding new content and features in the next updates, saying that they’re not sure about how to deliver this content “worth of an expansion”, if in the gemstore/ in game/paid box/LS; then you hear about some relevant quality of live features and improvements coming our way and everyone immediately thought about a boxed expansion – magically appearing out of nowhere? Like, classes and zones and weapons and hell knows what else? Help me understand. What did you want from this patch?
No, I refuse to believe people could’ve been so dense. I have a higher opinion of the humans.
I can’t help but enjoy these good improvements to my in-game quality of life and leave you to your whining, I guess.

well i knew they wouldnt be like expansion stuff, but i think at this time in the games life, what they needed was expansion stuff. I know it will probably be a long time before we see that type of content.

I think the best that people may have been hoping for is additional weapons for classes. But this patch doesnt surprise me at all, and i thought it would mostly good, till i read most of the current blog which is vague and makes it see, like overal methods of earning gold/items from events will be lowered. And Zommoros changes which i honestly think means less promotion of items.
If i had to guess, less chance for item promotion, and probably some reworked teir promotion returns, which will lead to a net nerf.
since the game was already pretty bad in terms of reward and item/gold grind that change sounds worrisome

I thought i was the only one who noticed that.

Truly I hope I am wrong but if rewards become even less then they are now – there simply isn’t enough game play let alone content to have me run on the hamster wheel for no cheese.

I guess we will finally see if Anets temp content vision was viable or if it will be it’s downfall.

Two major titles are being released over the next few months – and both will have an impact on all games at least temporarily.

Whether or not people return after trying these titles will be interesting to see.

Upcoming celestial armor changes...

It’s obvious they are going with the proposed changes.

I am of the opinion that anyone who made a Ascended Celestial set should have the option of a 1 time stat reset on the set because fundamentally the set is no longer as it was originally advertised.

I made the set specifically for certain attributes it had. Those attributes no longer exist so quite frankly I no longer have what I purchased.

There needs to be a consolation type situation when this goes live.

I wouldn’t write off TESO so quickly. They seem to be willing to make big changes based on feedback and it already looks a lot different from the start of beta. They have junked being locked into newbie island for a boring 10 levels so that instead you now can immediately start exploring the open world, and they have added BODY-BLOCKING to PvE combat to give it more weight which is huge in my opinion. I wish ANet were as nimble in responding to player feedback with such dramatic changes.

With the assumption that we will see no content until at least June (which equates to after the wvw season 2 ends) Anet should be very weary of any new titles coming out.

People for lack of better terms will try anything while they are bored then the question becomes will they ever come back?

It’s far easier to keep a player then it is to get one back – that is something that Anet should consider when it goes this long without any tangible permanent content.

These changes are all great – but they will not win any players back because the game for all intents and purposes beyond the QoL stuff is almost EXACTLY the same as it was a year ago in terms of content.

Reducing rewards in this game and not expanding them is a bad move.

GW2 has always been broken in the risk – time investment vs reward setting.

Rewards being scaled back will do nothing but make people less interested.
