Would have the same effect as if those player leave .. no easy targets for all these ninja assassins that like to jump on players when they are in the middle of a fight -> ninja assassins leave.
That isn’t really a problem. Myself, I don’t like the “ninja ganking open pvp” so I’m all cool with gankers staying the same as now.
Open Pvp with safe mode should be more about people who like fighting their way around without killing those who don’t want to.
Yeah .. there is normally nobody in the forums who says he likes to gank others. Even before AION came out all you could read was : Ganking .. nooo .. never … all i want is the challenge .. blabla …
3-4 months after release it was not possible anymore to quest in you 30-40 ares because there where more gank squads of full equipped lvl 50s than players from your own faction.

Also you can get the dragonite once per character each day, so if you have more than one 80 characters you can do the temples and dragons with each of them once a day.

You can’t discard the idea based on that isolated case.
Beledin, that problem is solved by allowing players to activate “safe mode”.

Events were suppose to scale for both big and small groups. They were suppose to be able to be done by 100 ppl or 10 ppl and be challenging both ways. Will we ever see this in the game? Something that was suppose to be in by day 1 is no where to be found. The Knights in this LS need 40+ people each and wont scale any lower! Teq needs minimum 80 IF you melee, if not you need 100+. Even Marionette was 100 minimum. I would love to see down scaling implemented like it was meant to be since day 1 of gw2. If you feel the same way leave a post.
The new Teq and Wurm were just create to NOT scale down because of the players that constantly wanted Raids.
Now go for example to the Maw Shaman and you will see an event that scales very well and can also be much fun doing it with 3-4 people.
I just read about people that did the Shatterer with just 6 players.
The Golem should also be easier with less people than with more i’ve heared.
So it works on most old stuff, even if the scaling is not always optimal, but they seem to move away from that at the moment for new stuff to make the Raiders happy. I only hope they abandon the ideas to revamp all the old bosses that way.

These servers normally also have the trend to kill themself, because the need to have of course also some players that just want to explore and do there quest as fodder for the gankers. Now naturally the more they get ganked the higher the chance that they just leave and in the end there are no more victims left for the gankers so they also move on to another server or game leaving another deserted server behind.
So i hope they will never waste developer recourses into this.

From comments I’ve seen here when they added the options for dailies, they DON’T see it as fun. They feel the irrational (to us, but rational to them) desire to get every chivo to be “the best.” They mostly feel like it’s a gigantic, horrible grind.
Its however a problem of the players if they don’t understand the meaning of OPTIONS and think more options mean you have to do ALL of them.

I absolutely wanted that hairstyle for my first character when i saw that picture. Sadly it was not in game when i started playing in the beta. And i still want it even if it maybe has some clipping issues

I don’t believe it takes that long if you do it regulary. Personally i normally only do my 5 or some more if they could be done in the open world, but that takes me mostly 20-30 minutes. Now if people play dungeons and WvW also regulary i think they will also have the rest done rather quick.

The total number of stats seem to be very high (looks nearly like Berserker damage and Soldiers vita / toughness), but maybe that is also just a compensation for the missing traits. After all what i heared are low level players in WvW not really better than higlevels.

Just yesterday i noticed that the only server left on “medium” is Vaabi, so all other servers are now on “high” or “very high”. Thats not a sign for me that the game is losing players.
But i know, of course people will no say that the server status is manipulated or whatever.

I posted this over 11 months ago.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/story/Forced-from-solo-to-group-for-final-story/first#post1674529So what has changed since then?
I now have 5 L80 characters NONE of which have finished the Last Personal Story Mission.
I have 11 80s and none has finished the last part. However i also bothered less and less about the story since i knew i will never finished it, and my last 80 already abandoned it at lvl 16.
Now if there would be at least an option to hide the stuff in the top right corner of the window ..

Make sure not to equip the item first, that soul binds it. But you can make items for your alts and transfer via the bank.
Also : don’t put any upgrades into the items before the correct character has taken it, since that also makes them soulbound. There is a warning however, but a lot of people simply click it away without reading

I tried farming these keys one day and hated it. Since i also hate gambling i would never buy those keys, so i’m however thankfull for everyone who farms keys and puts skins in the TP so that i can buy them
I never would have imagined someone would complain about BL farmers…
Some people will always complain about everything. And if you give then 10 bucks they will complain why you haven’t give them 20 or whatever.

- Sittable chairs; easy to implement, often overlooked.
Easy only in games where you don’t have races with different sizes and height sliders. Else it seems not really that easy to implement after all i read.
Off the top of my head, FFXIV, LotRO, WoW, and EQ2 all handle this without issue. And they all have a large range of character sizes to deal with.
It was never possible to sit on a chair in EQ2, at least not in the over 4,5 years i played it, and i think it was also an EQ2 dev that said that the different race sizes are the main problem.
In Champion Online there is indeed an /sitchar emote .. however that lets you normally sit with your legs hidden in the ground. You can use it when you stand on a chair and then you will fall down so that you sit, but will also often end with feet in the ground or legs in whatever you sit on.
It work great in RIFT, but there all races are normal human size if i remember it correct.
Can’t remember bout Lotro but there are only smaller races, so maybe they just sit and feets hang in the air as if they are childs, that of course not such a problem as of the feets are in the ground.
And WoW .. i think nobody cares if it looks idiotic in a game like that if a giant sits on a chair with his head between his knees or whatever.

You’re asking for Anet to hand you over the whole developing environment so you a) can make a house for yourself b) add that house as part of the game world. You can make this happen if you spend some millions of dollars to buy majority share of Anet from NCsoft. Other than this way, it’s never going to happen.
Take a look at what SOE does with Landmark for EQNext. And SOE had great housing in EQ2 and also in SWG afaik, and as a long time EQ2 player i know that a lot of people loved it and the crafting developer was the most loved dev in the game.

No.
I’d rather see dev time spent adding new dungeons, new zones, new classes, new abilities over the short term housing trend.
I’d rather see dev tim spent for housing that would be long time fun for a lot of players instead of creating new dungeons like Etherblade that noone plays anymore.
Also i don’t believe that the same devs that would create housing are also responsible for things likes balancing new classes and skills.

I´d support this idea if they make every ascended item 15 times more expensive to craft.
I don’t think this game needs any more grind. The current amount is plenty.
The problem isn’t the grind.
The problem is the complete lack of any real reward for your grind and thus the reason the OP’s asking to change ascended to be more appealing.
The problem is the grind. Having 11 80s it was no problem to give them all full exotic armor without problems, but it would be a hell of a grind to deck them all in ascended.
That would be like 16500 Dragonit, Bloodstone, Fragments alone .. and maybe around 5000 gold or whatever. So yes .. for people that don’t play only one character its a hell of a grind. And that is of course only for one set .. now if you want maybe even have different stats ..
So no .. i’m against everything that makes me more wanting ascended armor, as long as the cost of a complete set would maybe not more than one ascended weapon.
Btw.: weapons i made already 13 at least.
And the lack of reward is a good thing .. so you don’t need to do the grind if you don’t want it. And if you think you MUST do that the reward seems to be good anough for you.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I’m quite happy that i don’t really see a reason to get ascended armor and don’t really want reasons that makes me feel that i now HAVE to get some.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Also .. often when people can’t sell items it is just because they have them in invisible bags.

I would wish that we have again the thing we had to do for the old dailys as option each day.
I think it was :
-harvesting
- kill 50 mobs
- kill 5 veterans
- do 5 events
hm .. not sure at the moment what the 5th was .. but that daily never had forced me to change zones to do a specific part.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
No .. it happens whenever the last person leaves a zone. As soon as there is no player in a zone it gets shut down and as soon as somebody enters the zone is created new and also the spots have new locations.
Personally i harvest a lot at night in Dredghaunt Cliffs, and around 3:00-4:00 or whatever i constanly run in these resets. Sometimes even when i switch my characters suddenly the locations have changed.
The good thing however is that also the 24-hour timers on rich nodes are resettet and you can sometimes harvest some rich nodes again an again after each reset.

Issues like this are something I definitely plan to continue improving upon (Necromancer Minions also come to mind).

Since you said Necro Minions .. have you also read the reports in the Bugs forum that the minions since maybe 2 months are doing nothing most of the time ? And is there finally a fix in sight ?

I clearly wasn’t afk. I was clicking and entering numbers multiple times a second in the TP.
you can’t take screenshots when TP is focused? O.o but screenshot is a OS function and has nothing to do with GW2… to the testingmobile!
I meant the ingame screenshot function from GW2, where you also see in the chat-window that a screenshot has been taken and saved.
The OS function only pastes your screen into the clipboard.

The spots change whenever the zone is resettet. This happens always when there is no player in a zone.
So this is not a bug.

The misconception is you need to bring something new to the genre.
GW2 tried and according to many people it didn’t work out so well.
Tell me any trinity based game after WoW that did worked out better than GW2 in the western world.
LotRO, AoC, Warhammer Online, AION, Rift, SWTOR ?
Just because an MMO doesn’t reach WoW numbers doesn’t means its totally bad.

I’ve sworn to myself after leaving RIFT that i will never again play a raid centric game where you are always just a second class player if it comes to items, so just for that reason alone Wildstar is simply a no-go for me. And of course i don’t want to get eye-cancer
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
ESO will have it’s own following and fanbase etc but it’s not that one that Anet have to worry about. Its Wildstar.
Wildstar seems to be WoW 2.00 .. so it will maybe attract those players that want to have an everlasting raid-grind for item progression. I can’t say i would be too unlucky if we loose maybe some of those players that are responsible for ascended items.

Just click outside the TP window now and then. The TP is a kind of external webbrowser application and the client often don’t notices actions in the TP. Try for example to make a screenshot when the TP has the focus, it doesn’t work, you have to click somewhere else first.

What is about the speed of the sickle ? Is it normal speed or faster like the Consortium Sickle ?
Btw.: I wonder that there was no massive uproar about the P2W factor of the speed of that sickle.
You can’t have P2W when an item can be purchased with in-game gold. P2W would mean an item is blocked by a money gate, that you must use real world money to purchase. Since every item in the gem store can be purchased with in game gold. There is no item that is P2W.
You don’t have to tell me that. That was more or less just a joke about all these P2W nonsense
Oh yeah .. you can either directly buy masses of sprocktes for 80 gold, or buy a pick for 80 gold and harvest 100.000 times the next 2 years to get those sprockts ..

I would also maybe make the chest and legs pieces more expensive than the rest, since they are really the most visual parts. So i would say maybe 300-350 for chest and legs and 200 for the rest.

Personally i would say that 150 is much to low. Often i really only use the chest and legs from a set, and i always hide head and shoulders.
I have even 2 chars that wear Brahams Chest and Aetherblade Legs, so i would have happily paid even 400 per piece, since in reality i payed 1600 for just 2 pieces.

I think you have a very wrong idea and are too much expecting to have a WoW clone where you fiorst get endlessly grinding to max level and when you reach it the real end-game boringness of grinds start. Here grinds are for skins only, and the goal in the game is not to get you addicted, but to have fun and relax. This means the end game starts at level 1.
The issue is that too many people are soo focussed and brainwashed by those other games they are totally fixated on that number instead of realizing they allready are having fun.
And the good thing for farming for skins here is, that you mostly only need money, and it doesn’t matter what content you play, you will always make some progress towards your next goal.
In a Raid Game you can play 24/7 but as long as you don’t actually raid you will never make progress to get the next better stuff.
