Turn down dialog volume in sounds options.
Doesnt help, they have some audio filter on all sounds completely ruining the feel. Sounds like you are playing in a metal barrel. Suppose its meant to match the “vintage” post process filter. Either way its awful.
1. Minions to attack for me and take agro
Your goal is doomed to failure. Good luck getting your lobotomized minions to even recognize the difference between a chair and an enemy. If you are lucky, maybe 2 out 5 will actually attack if you try to force them on a target. And if you look back when running through Orr they will still manage to drag 10 mobs after you to play with.
Not sure why you want peeling though. Zerker MM facetank mobs without loosing HP and kill them in seconds, no need to peel.

WTF its in effect in WvW as well? Just did a little mat farming and the kitten filter is kittening me off. It was fun for about 5 seconds. That’s it. Even the graphics filter aside – which is cheating since you see all tags through obstacles – the sound changes is giving me a severe headache (all the sounds are filtered). Guess its PvPing tonight instead of raiding.
Press DS, nothing happens.
Press DS again, nothing happens.
Push random weapon skills, 1 out of 3 works.
Push DS again cause you’re trying to survive a bomb, nothing happens
Push heal, DS pops and instantly flip back followed by 3s interrupt cd on heal.
Yeah… I wish I had l2p issues. At least that I could try to improve.
Yall need talos
Nah Dibella is better. I remember the first time I walked into one of Her temples in Daggerfall and was all like O__O… Yeah, this is my kind of church.
They could say “You are not allowed to play if your hair color is brown” if they wanted to
Actually I think that would be the basis for a whopper of a lawsuit against Anet.
But the point here isnt that Anet can restrict ingame chats. Its that they cant stop players from saying whatever at least once (unless they remove chat).
Good because my pants are worth nothing and Bob would have to pay me to take them back (I really need a new pair of pants but you know… light armor).
If 5 random people are to fight a premade, TS wont help much. Good players know exactly what to do. The maps are pretty much the same and won in the same way every match. GW2 already has a couple of tools for communcations such as map ping and draw (plus chat of course).
Rightclick name, block.
If its a personal attack on you, report for verbal abuse.
If you are offended, cover your ears. Because people are free to talk about whatever they want. Anet already censor offensive words, but they leave the censoring of people up to you.
Well, technically Jormag is a name that belong to the GW2 lore… But I fail to see why they would care. Thats like using “Claw of Bob” and having everyone named Bob sue you.
As for the people talking about gold, reddit gave figures of 80g/day just with a dungeon tour. Do that for a week and bam 600g. Also TP and selling.
I called myself middle class because that’s how it is. I know people in the hundred thousands gold so I feel middle class. That’s like calling a multimillionaire middle class, compared to the Forbes Rich List.
And yeah. Bam. 600g as easy as that…
How many players do you think do that?
Even when I ask in LA, there are a dozen peeps richer than me so idk what to think anymore :/
Actually a lot of people do dungeons as it’s always good coin. Which is why there is these speedrunners wannabes that ask for high AP, etc… Everything in this game has a reason for its existence and most of the time it goes back to gold farming (to buy the shinies)
Yeah… a few dozen out of hundreds of thousands of players.
Look, its real simple, there is always going to be someone thats worse than you. But it doesnt matter because at some point the new limitation will impact someone. You happened to be at that point. The vast majority isnt even remotely close. You just have to look at the AH to realize that. If 500g a week was average income, precursors would cost probably in the range of 20,000-80,000 gold.
So again. Sucks to be you, but thats how it is.
And here I am, raiding with the guild almost every day, happy to make 20g a week (or maybe even 30g if I find a couple of exotics!). To consistently earn 500g a week you’d probably have to belong with the top 0.01% players and yeah, I can see how you are affected by the gold change. Not much to do, sucks to be you.
Why do you turn all V-Sync off? I hate tearing
V-Sync went obsolete the second Nvidia added Adaptive V-Sync to their drivers. Enabling it ingame is pointless. Fortunetly GW2 is designed as a true exclusive fullscreen game (ie graphics card can hook into it), unlike games that cheap out and use borderless windowed mode (like ESO on release, graphics card cant properly hook into it)
Which is pointless if you don’t own one of the heavily marked up monitors that support nVidia’s adaptive sync hardware. ATI just introduced their own tech and surprise, they aren’t compatible. But unlike nVidia, their solution is free to use in hopes that monitor manufactures would flock to it rather than pay nVidia for the privilege and pass the expense onto the gamer.
Adaptive v-sync is not g-sync. Two entirerly different things. If you got an Nvidia card, you can force adaptive v-sync regardless of what monitor you use. Its basicly just “smart v-sync” – instead of chopping fps down to 30 fps on a 60hz monitor that is really running 58fps, it disables v-sync and run it at 58fps. When it reach 60fps, it enables v-sync again.
Dont know if AMD use something similar now as my last card from them was ATI. Freesync is hardly impressive though. Really, really bad ghosting in the tests I’ve seen.

Also, what is a good party composition for when I make groups for WvW zergs?
Hahaha I am sorry but that just made me laugh. You need people. Lots and lots of people. If you outman the enemy 2 to 1… you probably need more people.
In terms of composition, they will bring whatever. Upscales in particular, which will probably end up killing the zerg.
Anyway, just tag up and go nuts commanding. All you need is a positive attitude. People will leave when you fail to cap keeps or get wiped, but keep it fun and relaxed and people will start to recognize you. Always keep in mind that a zerg wants points more than you do. Dont try to guide it around like a flopping eel against its wishes.
Ah yes, I wish we just got a 5 hour long video on Tyrias sights when creating a new character and afterwards, world completion and 50g for the hard work.
When you put something up on AH at a cost people arent willing to pay, you may loose the fee because you have to relist it later. Its a risk we all take, no matter the cost. Legendaries are no different. Sell it for the correct price next time.

my guess is even the drawing task is done by CPU. getting better graphic card wouldn’t improve your FPS by much.
Its a little late in the computer era to use software graphics rendering.
If you think GW2 is running in 640×480 resolution with 256 colors, unfiltered 32×32 pixel textures, no lighting, no shadows and have hideous polygon rendering performance… then sure. Its doing the drawing on the CPU.
This game runs on DirectX 9, an API that’s more than 10 years old & was designed in part to run the old Xbox 360, but has reasonably modern graphics, & a lot of CPU bound calculations. It will never use your PC to its potential. This game has an amazing way of finding bottlenecks no matter what you do. Maybe if they follow the same route as WoW, or even lots of low-end games such as DDO, they will add support for newer versions of DirectX, as DirectX 12 would probably alleviate many of the problems people are seeing with this game. If they don’t update the game to run in DirectX 12, however, I’m afraid that in a year or 2, we’ll all look back at Guild Wars 2 and see it as a dinosaur already.
Flawed argument. DirectX12 improves the speed significantly in certain things over DirectX9, true… but GW2 is more than likely not using any of that. We dont know that the renderer in GW2 does better on DirectX12. 10-20% increase perhaps, if you are lucky. Buying a new graphics card and CPU in 2 years will probably increase your speeds by 150-200% instead, regardless of running DirectX9 or 12.
Let me know what you think, if anyone else has had this same speculation from experiencing then I think we’re pretty much confirming that the stab change is to blame. Besides that the lag has been around ever since that last patch, so it really just makes too much sense.
Well it was lagging before too… Its just way worse. Yesterday was my worst trip to EB in a long time. Unplayable. People where warping all over the place and even when not in a zerg, everything was delayed. Not just plain 2-3s delays, but completely random with a 50% chance of not working at all. Skills with a cast time? Uuuuuuugh… Couldnt even 1v1 anyone.
The really funny part?
EoTM worked perfectly before I joined EB. I suppose that shows Anet priorities -_-
Roe had a bad team and necros can’t carry bad teams.
No class can carry bad teams. Even turret engies will melt if they arent supported and face multiple decent opponents (especially if one of them is a power necro that can AoE turrets). If you end up in a 1v3 situation, you’re not a bunker and not on point, you’re in the wrong place no matter your class. Which is why escaping is futile.
I bolded everything about your post that is either ignorant, completely out of touch with the meta, or indicative of low skill. Also, it’s lose with one O. Don’t get all preachy with grade school spelling errors, please.
Not all of us are blessed with having English as first language, I’m afraid. I make mistakes. Next time I will use “lOse” as you point out. Looks a little odd, but whatever. Grammar is important.
Yes, I may be dellusional and out of touch but last time I checked the point of PvP was to stand on point. Take one point and you get points. Not sure why anyone would bring a Necro for its “mobility”.
I am assuming we are talking about random pug ranked matches here. If you get 0 points in top 2% premades, you just got seriously outplayed.
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
And before I get advice, I already run double energy sigils, Swalk, Wurm, and even warhorn. There was no hope of escape.
Which kind of says it all, doesnt it?
PvP is not won by escaping. You dont get points by escaping. You dont have to use either spectral walk or wurm, there’s absolutely no point in using evasion skills. That is just going to make you loose matches. You are limiting yourself by using 2 out of 3 skills for absolutely no gain. You’re going to die in PvP and that’s perfectly fine, as long as you die on point and kill the enemy more. Imagine if the rest of your team decide to “hybrid” and use 2 out of 3 escape skills. All you’re going to do is escaping and getting cut down.
Go either full damage (ie zerker and meta spec) or full bunker (something like sentinel wellmancer or minionmaster). Some choose the middle road (like celestial) but tbh I fail to see the point. With either spec its pretty impossible to get 0 points unless your team is horribad – the bunker will always be in the thick of battle at the center point and probably be responsible for winning the match while the zerker will +1 slaughter everything in sight and necro bomb any major engagement.
When I played zerker I usually ended up among the top scorers every match. Bunker, not so much (hey you have to sacrifice something for trying to win).
Thief x 2.
As long as you can heavily exploit stealth there is no need to “complement” another class. Plus, only another Thief or possibly Mesmer can match a Thief. The rest will just be giant targets and unable to keep up.
You can of course spice things up by using one of them as tanky first hitter vs groups and one as the sneaky follow up backstabber.
Really? One good engineer and you’re both lying on the ground. It happens to most thief-thief pair I run into, and I don’t consider myself good. But then again: there aren’t many engineers roaming in WvW, so if you want to kill PU mesmers or rangers, that will work.
Mesmer/thief is more balanced. Warrior/engineer is deadly is good hands, and disengage as easily as a thief and better than a mesmer.
And if the Thieves by chance meet that Engineer, they will be gone and 100m away in 3 seconds. If just fancy dagger flailing made a good roamer a Necro would own too, but yeah… it doesnt.
You’re the one not knowing math.
I am not a math expert, but when a match ends 476 to 500 because someone was yelling ignore the mobs up until the very end where the a single enemy won a 1v3 mob kill, I get a wee bit annoyed.
150 less points for your team in a match is 150 more points for the enemy team, which with a 500 cap is a significant scoring advantage. Dont need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out.
The ability to freely set any sigil (just like stats) would be good enough.
Right now, legendary stat changing is actually pointless, making them less than legendary
Living dead state confirmed.
Lol Mesmer zerg bombing… phantasms and clones get instakilled leaving you with like a single weakass ranged AoE in chaos storm. A Necro does more damage by coughing on a zerg.
There is one low level baggy pant type with a tiny miniskirt over (embroidered) and there is the profane hey-I-look-like-a-backalley-prostitute-with-grannypanties leggings. You need to use full set for profane though, because its dye channels are completely different from normal gear (whats black on normal is grey on tricksters, etc) so you cant mix and match.
Thats pretty much it. Basicly, go skirt or go home. Anet redefined the meaning of pants long ago. I recommend winged “pants”, its fairly slim unlike many other “pants” and at least the physics is fun to move around with.
Edit: bah too sleepy, mixed up armor names
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
Dawdler, that’s not really the point though. I’d wager the overwhelming majority of people didn’t use the trait prior to the change either.
The point is the class has yet another useless trait now because there is simply no way a single stack of stability would EVER be even remotely close to as valuable as the alternatives in any build, ever.
Hence why its not that tough on necros, it was barely used to begin with. Its like saying removal of torch would be tough on Guardians.
Is it bad for diversity? Yeah. Does it need a boost? Sure, even prenerf the stability was so short you could only use it as a breaker.
- “Sick’em” and “Analize”
I also suggest that after the Thief has been analized, they get a “bowlegged” debuff which make them run funny.
Guys just take a look at how many stability and group stability skills the rev has. It makes me laugh at how insane it is and we can’t even get a worthwhile stab out of a kitten form aside from fitg which is worth kitten. How can anet be so kitten biased????
They have to sell the expansion somehow, so they make other classes kittenty -_-
Personally, I dont find the change all that tough… I’ve even changed my raid build to 6/4/0/0/4 because I dont really need stability anymore (never really needed the 50% crit either as I run full zerker with pack runes). Dont even care about Guardian stability. I just take care to stay more backline and focus on position and manouvering. Stability is nice, but ultimately its just a crutch. Even before the change, ele fields always stunned me when I didnt want want to be stunned so no change there lol.
Yeah well when the “whole team” consist of a Warrior, stuff like dying to a far better roamer sometimes happen. I say blaim your team.

Players should not be afraid of this change.
At the moment – 25 stacks @ 1500 condi power for 10 seconds is 29k damage over time for bleeds, 22k DOT for stationary torment, 44k DOT for moving torment and 4.4k confusion damage per skill.
You would be long dead before going over 25 stacks.
Thats not exactly reassuring you know. A zerg of 50 peeps would smack 100 stacks on smaller groups in a second. They could run full dire and instakill everything. If you thought the pirate ship meta was bad, wait until you see them start using grapeshot instead of cannonballs, lol.
I am guessing that this only apply to PvE event bosses however, otherwise regular PvE mobs would melt even faster than they do now.
Its way harder to read and I have no bloody idea why Anet decided to change it.
Just try imagining this forum with green text.
Its just kittened.
I’ve had tons of times when fear doesnt work when the enemy doesnt have stability or dodge (both regular and downstate) but just wrote it up to trait skill that proc on interrupt.
this game already has translations for different languages, wouldn’t kill to have an extra one for russians.
And then another for Swedish, Italian, Dutch, Hindi, Japanese, Swahili and so on. If they start adding one language they should also be adding the rest as well, and that means they would basically have to hire 150 new people just to handle translating and such.
Great, then Swedes would just start demanding English games because there are probably more Swedish people that talk English than there are Swedish people that talk Swedish.
Tbh I dont really know why Anet hasnt made a Russian version (failing a full Russian version, at least the language option). Plenty of games that have that region specifically. Maybe they just didnt find a publisher for it.
so your reason is more along the line of “somebody has to be at the bottom” and if you happen to main one of those (or even multiple) from the classes that are below the curve, you just have to accept it? Sorry, I cant accept that.
Then change class. Its that simple. Somebody will always be on the bottom. Its inevitable.
Ultimately, it doesnt even matter which class you pick if we’re not talking about perfectly tuned 5 man premades in the very top tier. PvP is all about being in the right spot at the right time and preferably with the right build. +1 when you need it or hold a cap against 3 people for 30 seconds when you need it. You bring your skill and knowledge of what you can acheive. The rest is just sheer dumb luck because you never know if you face that perfect counter to your build. The class is just the class.
All strong thief duelist specs are zerker. If you’re saying a shadow arts stealth spam thief is not one of the strongest 1v1 specs, I don’t know what to say other than you haven’t dueled enough people in WvW.
I dont know what to say other than you didnt read the topic.
We’re talking about PvP, not WvW. In WvW stealth is and has always been hidously OP. In PvP however, stealth make you loose a point.
Zerker Thieves are strong sure, but they are no match to the game winning builds. You know, the builds that stand on a point and laugh at the Thief trying to kill them while they win. Even if the Thief kills them after 2 minutes and 3 resets or something, it doesnt really matter, does it? That’s why I said zerkers are for +1. Any zerker is weak or strong depending on how you look at it against any other zerker, but they are always outmatched 1v1 against bunkers, unless they outman them (ie +1).
(edited by Dawdler.8521)
Even not considering that, the choices made in the personal story are also hard coded, so how do you handle that? Or racial armor or racial skills, etc?
I dont think I have said it enough in other such topics, so here we go again:
- Character has to be 80
- Character has to have completed the story missions
Race change →
- Character is stripped of race specific gear which is put in inventory and become accountbound, soulbound on equip (still race specific). That way you can use it on other characters of the old race.
- Personal story is replaced with a single arc stating “your past is a mystery only know to you” or whatever. You do not get to replay anything.
Boom done, no conflicts, no issues. Race has successfully been changed. Sure you may need some new gear but that is a loss you have to take.
Crafting isnt broken, its just not a profession like in so many other games. You use it to achieve certain goals – crafting ascended, legendar or other unique items. Maybe crafting some yellows to toss in the forge.
Its not really for crafting gear as you level. Well, unless you want the XP. The gear other thab 80 exotic is useless and will be obsolete after 10 minutes.
Put in inventory, go to another zone, now they will stack. Apply to all new accountbound on acquire stuff.
Afaik there is no crafting needed for legendarys, only for ascended.
All legendaries require 400 in crafting (which type of crafting depend on the gift required).
Yep, really expensive and totally not worth it. The difference between full exotic zerker and full ascended zerker is like 20 power, 1% crit chance and damage or somewhere around there. Too expensive even for convienience.
They are already funneling all available power to PvP, sorry. If you still lag, there’s just nothing more they can do.
Have been playing PvP for ~6 hours today, no problems at all.
Then I joined PvE to do guild missions, 10 disconnects an hour and 15+ seconds lag spikes.
If the damage from celestial is strong enough to take down a berserker necro, doesn’t that show that the build can pull its own weight?
Which build can not take down a berserker necro (if he doesn’t use lich) in a 1v1?
Which build can not take down a zerker anything in 1v1?
Zerkers are designed to +1. Put any zerker against the real game winning 1v1 builds (ie various bunker variants that exist across all professions) and they all will fail.
Call me traditional, but the Vanguard greatsword has always been my favorite. It looks sleek and functional. Its so… normal. And it got blue and yellow grip, which is my standard armor dyes heh.
