The funny part is that to even make a single beaded item requires buying 75 beads = clicking 75 times. It’s just like those Icy Runestones: you’ll NEVER need less than 75, but you can only buy them One. At. A. Time.
The most I’ve ever bought at once was 12,750 beads (51 stacks; 267,750 karma). I made 10 of almost every beaded weapon. I had to fight off the attacking risen 4 times before I bought enough. It took about an hour.
I am 100% positive the reason these weapons are so profitable to make is that they are so time-and-mouse-consuming to buy the beads. Last I saw, they give about 30-40s per 1000 karma (which is one of the highest exchange rates, btw). If a bulk purchase option were added, that number would be cut in half.

for a beginner tank? probably guardian. I feel it’s hard to make a guardian that isn’t at least a little tanking. if you tried to, it would be even more so. Sure, a dps guardian is possible, but I’m just saying that the average guardian is harder to kill than the average every-other-profession.
one other thing you should consider: a lot of builds might be impossible to kill, but require active skill casting to make it happen. or maybe ramping up to it (they would be susceptible to burst damage). Do you want passive or active tankyness? active is usually more effective, but requires more attention and skill.

it looks more SAB-style than halloween. at least to me, it does.
but the real question: does it glow?

doesn’t hurt to hold onto them. you might want to make 4 legendaries in the future.
one of the problems with converting SP to gold is that the highest exchange rates are also the slowest. bronze → iron ingot might get 2g/SP, but it also requires buying 100 stacks of bronze ingots (25,000 ingots), then selling 32 stacks of iron ingots, all to consume 20 SP for 40g profit. The time required might make it less rewarding than running dungeons.
It’s a good idea to hold onto SP in case you need them. Since there’s no cap, you have nothing to worry about.

that’s not a bad calculator. although it is missing the refined basic materials, which often are a better profit than raw materials (upgrading bronze ingot to iron ingot is often ~2g/SP)

Normal ram does ~8k on wooden gates (~6k on reinforced)
Superior ram does ~13.5k on wooden (~8k on reinforced)

And gates in EotM is reinforced, even if it just says “gate”

And gear should not increase damage in any way (from what I know)

I’ve been getting more and more curious about this:
When using a Flame Ram (not superior), the Ram ability to break down a gate, how much damage is typical?
and does anything affect it? (does berserker deal more than tank?)
I have Ram Mastery 5 as well as Siege Might 5, and I usually deal about 5,500-6,500. superior bumps it up to about 8,500-9,500.
I feel like I’ve seen people say they deal 8k dmg with a normal ram, so I’m just confused on how that is.

reminds me of my Clamshell iBook I’ve had for 14 years. just because of the unusually specific amount (instead of 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / etc.). My iBook has a whopping 466 MHz and 320MB of RAM. Or, to use more common-for-today’s-market terms: 0.466 GHz and 0.32 GB of RAM

try turning your settings down. I recommend starting at as-low-as-it-can-go on everything, then increasing things one-by-one while keeping an eye on the FPS until you have something that looks good and stays at decent FPS.

maybe not laurels, but I can guarantee you that any ability to craft precursors will be something you don’t want to do. Most likely require lots of time and time-gated things. imagine an account-bound material you can only make once a day and cumulatively uses dozens of basic materials from several crafting professions, totaling about 10g each craft. now imagine you need 100 of those. now forge those together with 250 ectos, and 250 of each T6 crafting component required to make that weapon type.
There is no way they will make it easier for you to get a precursor. at best, all it will do is give you a way to guaranteed get the one you want rather than only able to buy it off the TP (cause let’s face it: you’re not going to randomly find the one you want). like how you can choose between buying those traits or doing the event associated with them.

very few upgrades are worth using the exactor. 99% of the time, you can convert those gems to gold and buy 2-20 of those upgrades for the same price as buying an extractor.
only use extractor on superior sigil of generosity and agony infusions +9 and higher (at the rate gem prices are going up, this will soon be +10 and higher)

sometimes I get cards like that after returning merchandise or as a rebate. just buy your normal stuff at a grocery store, tell them to put 5 euros on the card, and the rest in cash (or another card). it’s easy to use if you know exactly how much is left on it. but so annoying to have to deal with in the first place.
Anet is strict about buying gems with money – they only do denominations of 10. probably in hopes that if you want 25-worth, you’ll just increase to 30. there’s strong arguments for both methods (offering every option vs. offering limited options). I’m a believer in offering many options, but I don’t control them :P

I believe listings made by accounts that were then banned remain in place. If it’s filled, the gold is sent to the pickup tab for that account. if the account is ever unbanned, they can pick it up.
It’s pretty common nowadays to not delete removed accounts (not just here) – but rather make them inaccessible. Each account takes up such a small amount of space on their servers that it’s not worth it to worry about running out, and there’s always the possibility of the ban being reversed.

I suspect they might let you re-pick which armor you get (if you open a support ticket). That’s one of the few areas they refund – when you pay $$ and got the wrong thing.

the problem with only showing the armor with weight that your character uses is that it’s an account-wide gift; all of your characters can use it (well, only one can equip it, but all are able to use it before you bind it). It does say ‘this armor is unusable by this profession’, but it’s not super-clear.

people have been banned for abusing in-game exploits before.
who is punished usually is decided by the scale of the abuse.
if you spend an hour farming endless waves, you’ll likely be fine.
if you spend 8 hours a day every day for a month farming endless waves, you’ll likely be banned when they notice it’s abusable.

trust me, it’s quicker to farm 220g and buy it than it was to farm the recipe. it’s expensive because it had like 0.0001% chance to drop. it would take like 50 hours just to maybe get 1.

you can still craft level to 80. the grandmaster professions only give 7 levels if you only get them to 400 and not 500.

get 6 professions to 500 and 2 professions to 400. should give 10 levels each profession = level 80.
it just costs 1000g instead of 80g.
but at least gem->gold is higher than it used to be. early on in the game, 100 gems -> 40s, so it took around 20,000 gems to max level. now, 100 gems -> 10g, so it would take 10,000 gems to max level.
and some people still complain about the gem price going up :P

they are not worth to craft – there is no profit and most time you even lose gold

they used to be. for a while I was making 2000 a day for 10s each and selling for 20s (140g profit per day)
not the case anymore. not only is that profit margin reduced to -20% to +20%, but you can’t even sell 2000 in a day anymore.

My opinion on trading player-to-player:
You give them your Spark. Getting 1200g in return is just a bonus and should not be expected.
As such, I only recommend ‘trading’ off-TP what you can afford to lose.

if it’s level is a multiple of 5 (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, …) and white (common), it might be unsalvageable.
only sure way to do it is to buy one, salvage it, then place a big order.

because we don’t have it all the time, we want it more.

I feel like a big reason it hasn’t come back is because they want to give it a story. world 1 was awesome because it was just “here’s a stick, go save the princess that was kidnapped for no reason”. but then they added conspiracy theories and plot and betrayal and influence and stuff surrounding moto the creator. SAB doesn’t need that, that’s not what makes it great. just give us another jumping puzzle world similar to the others but different theme and harder with new items (like a whip upgrade that lets us swing on vines). that’s what we want out of SAB – pointless adventure. it doesn’t need fluff. you don’t need to be working on fluff.

for me, mousing over “Community” brings up a drop-down menu with “Leaderboards”. that is all (first screenshot). clicking “Community” shows the word “Community” (second screenshot)

when I do check out their news page, I always go to google and search for “gw2 news”. but I haven’t noticed many sales advertised there.

iuno. why are there so many precision + condition and critical + condition sets? conditions can’t be crit’ed!

the AI is funny. when you’re trying to keep someone alive, the enemies will aggro the VIP. when you just have help from NPCs, the enemy will aggro you.
you can use this! use crowd control to pull enemies off your VIP, then watch as they walk back to them, all while you’re hitting them. If they are going after you, you can just kite in a circle while your allies pummel them.
I do wish the AI was smarter, and would disengage a target if that target couldn’t be reached. this happens everywhere

this is the same alphabet SAB uses. you know all those symbols in the chat boxes above character’s heads. also the symbols on the shield of the logo.
(the shield symbols translates to SUPER ADVENTURE BOX)

having the Hero’s Band also helps get to 15 min. It’s pretty much the only time that ring is useful :P

you don’t pay 5% when placing a buy order. you only pay 5% when selling an item. you can store as much gold as you want on the TP for free. you just can’t store items for free. but there’s no point in storing gold there – your bank can hold as much as you can get, while your item bank can’t.

200k karma / 4 hours / 1.5 karma booster = 33,333 base karma per hour
I don’t have the exact numbers in front of me, but going off memory:
keep = 1500 karma
tower = 800 karma
special location (statuary, forge, airport, etc.) = 400 karma
reactor = 200 karma
3 keeps + 3 towers + 9 special locations + 6 reactors = 11,700 karma to capture the entire map.
I’m curious how you captured the entire map 12 times in 4 hours. Maybe my sense of how long that takes is just off, or amount of karma is way off. I’ll have to try it myself next time I go in there, FOR SCIENCE!

Dry Top events would probably be pretty good. not quite as good as eotm as there are no keeps, but it does have a quick succession of events. do you get karma for these? or just sand? I haven’t noticed. plus, I hear it gives really good drops.

my advice: give them gold if you want to be generous, but never expect anything in return. If they do pay you back, that’s just a bonus.

sometimes they post updates in various places. I never see them in time. they have a game updates section of the forums, a news section on their home page, a twitter feed, a youtube feed, a facebook page, … , … , …
just ignore them all
two things that will guarantee inform you: listen to people in map chat or your friends. If there is an awesome sale, people will be discussing it. and check the gem store’s promotions page each day. sales will always last for a minimum of a day.

I’ve been known to drop heroes banners or karma bonfires half-way through the last fractal boss people love me. the most karma I’ve received was ~16,000. (karmic infusion, heroes banner, karma booster, guild karma, karma food) If only birthday booster affected it… oh the magnificence we could have.
then after beating it, I’ll do eotm for the remaining hour (as it’s not guaranteed you can do another fractal run in less than an hour)

you rez someone FAR faster if you are ooc. if it’s easy to kill the mob, just kill it then rez them. they will likely be rezzed faster, you get some loot, and you have less chance of dying while doing it.

to answer your other question: it’s not very safe. imagine you are living with a few housemates. there is the fridge that everyone uses, but you have a mini fridge that only you use and keep in the garage. how likely is it that a housemate will take a beer from that fridge?
there’s also the possibility that your bank permissions would be revoked.
I just wouldn’t recommend anyone keeping any person items in a communal vault. make a piggybank guild if you absolutely need the extra room, but even then I wouldn’t put the valuable stuff in it. you could accidentally leave, for example. or if your account is hacked, they will only restore your account’s contents and not your guild’s

Do low level fractals while at a high level yourself

specifically; do fractals that are 10 levels below your personal level. and the higher level you do, the more karma. so the highest is getting your personal level to 50, then running level 40.
but, when you incorporate how quickly it takes, the best is to just get your personal level to 30 and run level 20. this gives 8,000 karma per run, and each run takes about an hour.

the next-highest karma income would be following a good commander with a large zerg in EotM (which also gives more loot that’s used in legendary crafting). I estimate this gives about 4,000 karma/hour

the chance of getting no exotics after 20 rare forges (80 rares) is about 1.2%. If you think that couldn’t have happened to you, then you should forget forging because that precursor you probably want is a lot less likely than the odds you got an exotic-free cold streak that long.

20 forgings is not significant enough. If 1 million players each threw 80 rare items into the forge, about 11,529 of them would get 0 exotics. I made an excel spreadsheet to figure out the rest:

trash items I can’t salvage, I throw in the forge. very few items can’t do at least one of those. but some can’t – I think badge items can’t do either? some unique rewards can’t do either (such as the Sclerite Karka Shell, I believe).
If they can’t, you have 3 options:
- save them at the bottom of your bank in case an update lets them be useful
- use an upgrade extractor on it (only recommended for REALLY valuable sockets. buying gems with $$ doesn’t count – it’s cheaper to sell gems for gold and buy 2 new traveler runes than to buy an upgrade extractor and recover 1 traveler rune)
- destroy it.

So I finished a few of the LS2 achievements last night. Then refreshed myself what the achievements were earlier in LS2. And I have to wonder which achievements these people think are so challenging?
maybe fighting that frog without falling off would be – but only if you had to solo it. I got that achievement while part of a zerg. we literally killed him before he even did any knockback attacks. if you have a party of 5 with even a little stability, that fight would be easy. imagine liadri fight with more than one person
most of the achievements have been “odd ways of doing things”, “find all the locations!”, and “have you defeated this?” none of that I would be “challenging” – more of “grinding”. even the tiers are more grinding than challenging, because they don’t take skill, they take mass amounts of people.

tribulation mode is like a 6 out of 10. but tribulation without dulfy is a 11 out of 10. loved it so much I bought an infinite coin. I remember it even took dulfy like a week or two to publish it.

Are Keeper’s Tassets different stats from Keeper’s Ascended Heavy Leggings?

they are probably just testing it to see what we think. Personally, I feel that if you made a Venn diagram of everyone that crafts food and everyone that uses food, only 10% or so would actually coincide.
People that craft do so because they like crafting – selling for profit, discovering recipes, etc. People that use food do so because they want a slight advantage because they competitively do something all the time and don’t have time to / don’t want to do with crafting.

ah, so they are different. well, in that case it’s much simpler: just buy them from the TP. no need to grind an area hoping for a rare drop.

some boots look better on asura than others.
for example, a lot of the asura cultural boots actually have built in side-toes. but some are more sandal-type and have no toe covering at all.

don’t you buy the recipe for these from master armorsmiths? (Recipe: Ascended Heavy Leggings) for 5 laurels + 3g.
you buy that recipe, use it, then select the Recipe: Keeper’s Ascended Heavy Leggings.
Or is that not what you’re talking about? The wiki is very sparse on Keeper’s Tassets.

If another use for them is added, it’ll probably be similar to the sharpening stone station (and others like it): require 40g of other materials, use 20 empyreal stars (which require karma), and only be worth 3g.
please don’t refine them. it’s a waste of karma if you’ll never use them.
