It’s been done regularly, I have beaten this boss like 10 times. Nothing special… but then again, this was 1 year til a couple of months ago.

You should have read the article of HnRkLnXqZ.1870. He clearly stated how it works: Most people had this issue first with gliding (me too). If you press space and keep holding the space button you automatically open your glider – try it!
The awkward thing is the following: we are used old platformer games like Super Mario etc. whereas the longer you keep pressing the jump button the farther you jump. Not so in Guild Wars 2. Just press the space button and release it, don’t keep holding it and you will see the difference. Once you learned that, gliding works properly for you.
No, it doesn’t work like that. That may be how it’s SUPPOSED to work, but it’s a far cry from actually doing it that way. It’s grossly inconsistent on both ends. Short taps or long hold-downs BOTH exhibit ending up gliding and non-gliding. I can discern no pattern other than it gets it right no more than 2/3 of the time (with either choice).
Yes, it works like this. Believe me. I am a gamer since more than 20 years and it works 100%. Always. If you have lag due to slow/bad connection or an old PC of course it may not work properly. But with the right setup it works always like this.

But mini in the other raids are always account bound? I also think it is an incentive to do the bosses all by yourself. Should be account bound. The price will fall anyway, check gw2spidy.

I think it’s the programmers frankly, a wicked sense of humour.
I don’t think it’s on purpose. The problem is the space key itself. I suspect that keyboards don’t properly follow the same rules for space as they do for the other keys. Mainly because there are two springs and two contacts (on each end) in most keyboards.

As a long time gamer I liked the HoT content. But compared to Central Tyria it is indeed less forgiving. But in the end you will adapt. I run a full ascended Viper’s Condi Ranger and I can solo 3-4 veteran frogs and a champ boss all by myself. You have actually to do something to survive.
In my opinion the original content in Central Tyria was extremely shallow and far too easy. But that’s me. The vast part just want to play shallow stuff for relaxation – I don’t blame that. But at least try to adapt. It’s fun if you get the hang of it.

Use LFG, you haven’t mentioned that. I did kill this boss many times (also for Astralaria, Nevermore and other collections).
At this very moment though your timing is extremely bad. Two points:
- a new patch released and everyone is doing new map/story
- they removed multiloot in AB with the same patch which results in much less populated serversMy advice is to try it in a few days/weeks and constantly check the LFG. Ask a commander to lead etc. It’s not that hard.
I’ve been trying for a week
Ouch… I feel bad for you. But try it in about 2-3 weeks when the hype of the update is fading. Probably players are returning to AB.

You can blame a lack of content if you want, but I believe Heart of Thorns gave this game a mortal wound from which it won’t recover. Asking an industry-high $50 for an expansion that delivered an egregiously low amount of content, not fully delivering on advertised content, and the stark shift in design philosophy to appeal to a more hardcore but less numerous group of players really hurt this game in a time when Guild Wars 2 needed all the good will and good publicity it could get.
Perfect and concise description of the situation.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
This is just said: Every other franchise remained stable or even made more money. But GW2 is falling and falling… But let’s face it: If you release an overpriced expansion with so little content and horrible balancing, releasing nothing for nearly a year (except raid) people leave. And it seems they struggle to retain players. A friend of mine who started the GW franchise with the Beta of GW1 in 2004 or 2005 even quit playing.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I have done that twice. I rather play a different game or play other content than boring content over and over only be cause it’s lucrative.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
New craft always follows the excessive and/or insufficient supplies right on the market at the moment. The new gifts of fortune are right a result of the fact that T6 was too expensive due to the need of one stack and no need of any other T5 which had very low prices. That’s why they changed it for the new legendaries and in my opinion this is a good thing.
I usually have enough of T1-5 and I don’t need them at all. So I was happy to use them for Astralaria and Nevermore which I made.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I really don’t get what’s so bad that you have to go to HoT to do the dailies, it’s no big deal and you still can do all the content you did for dailies in Central Tyria.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I didn’t think for about 6 month into expansion, but now they nerfed it. But I only agree with UW combat unfinished. Concept etc. is fine. Let’s wait for the next expansion, I hope they will overhaul it.
Also, I suggest to move this into the Revenant subforum.

The arguments of OP are not correct, explained in this thread several times. But for example I run a condi ranger build and it’s stronger than a druid build, same goes with condi engineer being stronger than scrapper. So there is some diversity. But generally speaking, yes the elite specs make the classes better in many ways.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
As far as I know Anet it sadly won’t release this year. They are so super slow with content I’d rather fear a release somewhere in 2018…

Very bad understandable and written OP… take the advice and learn how to give good feedback.
But I must admit that you are right with your opinion of silly wings. That is my opinion though.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
When there’s a “problem” that isn’t any… you are exaggerating the whole thing. You are a man of principles so even if you just have to sit down in HoT for a daily reward you wouldn’t do it be cause you despise it so much.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I’d finish personal story, season 2 and finish HoT story, do HoT masteries, do all dungeons, do all fractals up to 100 (also along with this go full ascended crafting), start raiding.
IMO world bosses is shallow and boring content, without any challenge, but everyone has a different approach. For me the ultimate goal was always raiding since this is the brink of hard/challenging group content.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Aside from thinking paying 10k for a stupid aura is beyond my understanding I am absolutely for an increase in trading post. The same problem was in GW1 with 100k limit.
Gold is fluctuating and it’s going down and down. People are much more richer than in 2012 where having 100g was a lot of money. I don’t understand why they limited it.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
It doesn’t work. I have to check UI all the time, and to remove at least the option to use it if you want is beyond reasonable. The UI is terrible and especially for harder content like raids we need a lot more customisable UI and additional slots for food, gizmos, transformations etc.

I did the meta lots of times and never had a single DC. If you run a very old pc (mine is 5 years old soon, but is a 2k gamer pc with 16gb ram and a gtx 670), runs all events mostly fluid with more or less okay’ish framerate at max details.
I usually just enter the map and don’t even bother doing it, when meta starts i just stay on the map, and it fills properly with 80% to 90% success rate of meta event. That shows me that the event gets usually done. I don’t see any problem with this.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Yeah it’s horrible. There are many open world players who only use skill 1 and/or don’t use weapon swap at all, rangers who use a longbow and point blank shot the mob out of your AoE just be cause the skill is on cooldown. They don’t even think what they do.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
HoT got very little media coverage. Big gaming sites like Gamespot didn’t even review the expansion. Just shows how unimportant the franchise has be come. It’s a shame… Compare it to – let’s say Overwatch – an you get about 100 times the media coverage. Also GW2 seems to most people practically nonexistent. A shame, they had the attention before HoT release but lost momentum. Hopefully the game well be back on track with the announcement of the new expansion (that hopefully won’t take another two years like the first one…).
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Most will agree that it’s long overdue. It seems that anet has extremely inefficient methods to create content. No other company (exception: Japanese) take so long to create even small stuff. Nearly 1.5 years to create Legendary Armor wtf? I won’t start with the super slow release of new content…
‘would of been’ —> wrong
It was completely out of place. Especially since the revenant doesn’t have a different story and actually starts his/her journey right at the same timeline as every other profession/class. It doesn’t make any sense.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Too soon? WoW announced their expansion sometimes 12 months after the release of the last expansion. Also, if we talk about a two year expansion schedule – which is fairly normal – we should expect the expansion in no less than 10 months. But as far as I know Anet with their ultra slow content release it will take another year. Sad but true.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
I played B&S a bit and it’s horrible. But it seems Asians like such Korea grinders. I think GW2 will last for a pretty long time. There could be more success ofc, they wasted a lot of potential when they had the opportunity to keep players. But it seems to get better and I hope they will announce a new expansion soon.

Necro by far. But also good are the following:
- Ranger
- Warrior
- Thief
But thief only if you are a fast reacting player since his HP is low and goes down fast. But it’s by far the fastest class – especially elite specced Daredevil.

Sorry, but it’s a freaking MMO, they are complex game, rather among the most complex games. Therefor it is needed to google stuff. And besides: asking in the forum and waiting for an answer takes a lot longer than just goolge it within 1-2 minutes.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Are people really that helpless or are they too clouded to open the wiki or google it? It’s more work to begin a new thread than google it to find out within about 1 or 2 minutes how this map works.

GW1 was a purple elementalist. GW2 mesmer uses literally illusions to confuse the enemy. It’s actually a very unique and clever class which you don’t see in your usual MMO. Also the Chronomancer adds some nice stuff, too.

It’s one of the few situations I use the action camera. Also snap target and use left mouse button to use skill 1 (nice thing: you can just hold the mouse button for auto-attack constantly), keyboard 2, 3 and rest is mapped to my MMO mouse. Works fine.

The engine is hopelessly outdated. It goes back to GW1… that’s why we still are doomed to use DX9 etc.

Norgu in Nightfall was a very glamoury/theatralic mesmer:
https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Norgu
But I understand your concern. They had a lot of scary hexes and skills which are now toned down. If we are lucky we get a demonizer mesmer in the next expansion.

Every few weeks threads come up asking to improve the horrible UI. Why the hell did they do this? What’s the purpose on such lacking customisation? I want side bars for food/gizmos/instruments/tonics etc. I want to resize the kitten elements, I want to toggle health bars, I want to target a player I can go for and take it in focus to heal it etc. But Anet won’t listen, they just are so stubborn to not let us change this and god knows why.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Shame on Anet. They changed the way to get those sigils just to prolong the process to get this skin in order to keep players in the game even longer. Imo it’s a dishonest way and a big middle finger to all those who started already in 2015 and now getting kittened in 2016.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
If you aren’t doing all this stuff, you don’t need the Tyrian masteries anyway. The only thing you really want (but not needed) is the autoloot. Rest is just not necessary. Especially Fractals since you don’t do it.
You can’t reset it… maybe the support can help you.

Er, literally? The whole thread and I didn’t read anything about elite specialization? That’s the progress… start the story of heart of thorns and work on your elite spec. And masteries of course. After gearing up to ascended you can enter the raid (or earlier, but don’t expect to be taken with exotic gear only). Go to fractals to finish level 100 with maximum agony resistance etc.
This probably wasn’t mentioned based on the OPs statement about not being into gear grind and high level play. She/He prefers open world content and collecting stuff.
But that is exactly the casual part in HoT. It’s the thing everyone does: doing open world as max level and working towards masteries/elite spec.

The rewards were much better before if you consider the inflation of currency and the amount you got.
But in my opinion the rewards are secondary: I just play to play with friends and for distraction. At the end, you play to kill enemies, not for skins/rewards – yes, I know this may sound strange, but ultimately you play the game to do something. And the skins may be the aim, but even those players don’t just stand around in LA and don’t do anything. They play the game.

HoT gives me Season 3 Living Story? Unclear
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Indeed, they have to make money, but this is the wrong place. And people have no understanding that it is first for free and later you have to play for it.
And yes, they are for free quite a while, but imagine a player starting somewhere in 2018 and has to pay for 20 or so episodes, meaning 4k gems. And this after he paid for the full game. It’s just bad marketing.
Also, the story is an essential part of the game and usually you want to play it to understand how things evolve.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
The npcs do no damage anyways, I didn’t remember this episode so I had to look it up since I didn’t find it hard in anyway with what char whatsoever. Just burn him down, you can see the rings on the floor and/or dodge it.

Are they still doing this? I don’t know be cause I always log in during new episodes. But imagine you are a new player, you pay a whopping 50€ for this expansion and then they want 200 gems per episode. WTF? That’s just horrible marketing, with this you make your customers angry. No wonder they fare worse and worse. Remove this horrible restriction and give it for free. I can’t imagine new customers will have understanding for this. (200 gems are quite a lot of gold as a new player btw).

For HoT masteries: Do Dragon’s Stand constantly when it is on cooldown and use XP boosters. I mean all of them:
- xp booster
- kill streak booster
- guild hall xp booster
- …
In Dragon’s Stand you can usually keep the kill streak up at max constantly. You usually get several thousand xp per kill and you do events constantly. I maxed my HoT masteries back then within a couple of weeks.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Probably, but I tell you something about human behaviour: Our nature is to overcome challenges even though we don’t like it.
1. You either do the escort and you don’t have to worry about this issue anymore
2. You live with the fact, that Anet decided to make things how they are
3. You wait until they change it
I have to admit that it may be not fair for those who don’t want to raid. But if you have such big issues with it you probably have to learn that life and even life in a game may force you to do something that isn’t all a pleasure. I’d understand the constant moaning if you had to complete the whole raid or a harder boss. But it isn’t. It’s really not hard. People have to learn that they are not eligible for everything in life but if they want it they have to work for it. Yes, even in a game. Maybe I think this way be cause I play games since the good old Nintendo difficulty times; it was quite normal to not finish a game at all. In fact, I haven’t finished about half of all the games I had and it was okay. I always kept thinking that I was bad I had to be better. Not the other way around.
