Rangers, warriors, and thieves, are archers. They use bows, therefore are archers. It seems unreasonable to make a profession that is limited to 2 weapons alone. Which is precisely what you have to do, because the second they start using anything other then a bow, they are no longer archers.

I think it is a terrible to suggest nerfing the amount of stacks per blast AND the duration. Perhaps one or the other, but not both at the same time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
What bases are you using, OP, to support your statements? You made a thread on topics with existing threads, made some blunt and unexplained statements, and offered no justification for your perspective.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Are we speaking of “steal” in general? Or after all 10 of the traits that effect it are applied in a build.

You clearly know nothing of the history here. The players have every right to be ungrateful. ArenaNet has gone back on their own design manifesto and philosophies that they sold the game on.
Which they did based on the population complaining at them to do so. What specifically did they go back on that upsets you?
Easy to obtain endgame stats and hard to obtain skins was tossed out the window
Now your just being untruthful. This is clearly and obviously still a main aspect of the game.
when ascended was shoehorned in.
Clearly you are the one who " know nothing of the history here". They always intended for ascended to be in the game.
Don’t get me started on the “we don’t make grindy games” and yet they continually implement things that are pure grind.
They force you to get these items? I don’t think so. I have made 6 sets of ascended gear by simply showing up to the crafting station with the items I collect from my regular WvW play. I sold what I didn’t need to buy what I didn’t have, for each set, and never did any grinding in the least.
Then they go and nerf drop rates or farming methods making the grind that much worse. Seriously find any of the threads talking about ArenaNet vs their manifesto.
Why? to see the same 30 people making the same complaints on different threads? Part of the problem here is that you disingenuously suggest you represent the entire community, when it is clear you do not have any actually knowledge of what the majority wants. They have stated the percentage of accounts created that have logged into the forums, and I am certain you do not even know what that number is.
Then of course we have gamemodes that are all but unsupported. WvW, SPvP, and Dungeons are horrible undersupported. When big patch day finally comes and all they see is new player changes that arguably make the game worse, they aren’t going to be appreciative because they simply aren’t. Don’t forget we had around a year of nearly no communication from ArenaNet causing the community to get all the more toxic.
You do not know what your talking about. PvP is support with balance changes, promotions, regular tournaments. WvW tournaments and long open discussion CDI’s on WvW changes to come. All kinds of things added to PvE.
As I see it, dishonest posters who state their opinions as if it was fact and claim to speak for others then themselves, are what male the community toxic.
While these things might scare off new players, they need to know this information too. The base game is good(was great at launch but has decreased with each patch) but the Support from ArenaNet is absolutely abysmal. Now of course we have ArenaNet communicating again, but only time will tell if it’s more lip service or not.
Sure, new players are entitled to share their unhappy opinions with new players. They problem is, most of those posters are dishonest to an extent, presume to suggest they speak for the community, and illogically chose to grind for items they do not need or require, then disingenuously claim they were forced to grind for it.
Game is good =/= game has no problems
Exactly.

I have really, really bad internet and am having no major issues with Swoop/RB. The only issue I do have is that with RB I sometimes have to repress the W key to move after I land.
If someone stated they never had a problem with Bulls charge, in a manner that seemed to imply there is nothing wrong with the skill, would you accept that as fact? Look up the post on RB on the bug forums. There are 4 videos posted. In one, at around the half way point the players character does a 180 mid animation and ends up in the starting location, only facing the other direction. In another, at around the half way point the players character does a 90 degree left turn mid animation, and ends up facing the left direction. In another, at around the half way point the players character does a 90 degree right turn mid animation, and ends up facing the right direction. In the last, the players moves 25% of the distance, and stops moving, with the animation continuing, while no more distance is covered. With 4 pages of other players confirming they have had these problems
That doesn’t mean that nothing is wrong with them, but even when I fight people using said skills I don’t often encounter situations where I catch players using them because they stopped mid skill. In contrast, whenever a War uses BC against me, I just walk forward and even if they hit they can rarely follow up because I’ll be facing the opposite direction.
This is the case when I fight other warriors as well. It seems to me, that the problem is that the skill does not adjust with the movement of the targeted player.
Also, comparing Swoop and RB to BC seems ridiculous since the first 2 are generally used to create distance, or missing with them doesn’t significantly screw with your effectiveness. If Swoop doesn’t hit It doesn’t make my DPS garbage. When you miss BC it does. RB only does damage at the launch point, so comparing it to BC makes even less sense.
Here you go again, presuming to tell folks what the entire community uses skills for, when I can hardly believe you have encounter anything more then a very small fraction of players using those skills across 50+ servers of play. Your making a strong effort to down play others problems in an attempt to make your seem more pressing.
Your not being very community oriented with that mentality. So tell me, as swoop does more damage then Bulls charge, how are you claiming swoop is not losing damage compared to bulls charge?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Man, that is all this OP does, is make threads telling everyone else how things should work. How wrong you are if you disagree. Going out of his way to prevent any actual conversation on his topic.
There is no reason a channel skill cannot or should not function after the caster finishes the channel. It all depends on how long the devs feel the channel should last in comparison to how long they feel the skill effects should last.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
I play as I want. It work better then you might think. Most of the sheeple who regurgitate all the meta beliefs become baffled and do not have the skill or knowledge to handle anything outside the box.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Healing I’d not the problem. It is nice not to have everything purely damage centric. The OP did nothing as far as I could see, that gave an explanation that justifies calling healing a problem
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Your are wrong. The swoop and RB problems occurred in empty maps. It happens when you touch any key at all during the skill animation. I have tested it, repeatedly, videos it and posted it in the bug forums. I never chose to spam the balance forums with it. As it has nothing to do with balance directly. As well, your suggestion as to when their functionality became bugged is wrong. RB and Swoop have always stopped in mid motion and stopped short as if they hit a wall.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Caed and Sizer dont beat Eles 50% of the time. At this point you have no idea what you’re talking about. At top tier if an ele can kite well enough they have a 50% chance to 1v1 a necro.
Prove it. I play them occasionally and keep up with them a fair bit. I feel it is being polite to simply say you exaggerating. You either honestly are not aware of the true stats I. This case, or I feel you may be being intentionally disingenuous.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Your not doing anyone any favors by trying to suggest it is more of a problem for warrior skills and implying they need special treatment. As a player who plays multiple professions, it would seem to me that you will simply segregate yourself from support on the issue from the rest of the community.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Yet you do not correct the post that over exaggerated it and claim it "never hits the target? It works just as well (or as poorly) as swoop on the ranger greatsword and engineers rocket boots.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Necromancer are good at doing one thing: locking down a target. Thats your team utility. Being the nightmare of someone. But, everyone disliking nightmare, most of the other team with focus you because you are a pain in the kitten . Imo you bring much more to a team than a ranger or thief with all aoe, well and CC/condi.
In my head, necro is like a hambow but really harder to play. Once mastered, you become a fearful opponent in 1vs1 or in group.
If you want lockdown there are far better classes for it… like hambow.
Why don;t you back that up for us? How much time can a terror mancer lock down (not to mention doing damage with the lock down) compared to your hambow build?
There are 4 main problems with necromancers right now all of which have existed since launch………………………………….No instant ports, or invulns to avoid cc.
Mind listing the professions that have both “insta” ports and in vulnerabilities? DO you actually have an logic to support the rational that a professions is broken or problematic with out either of those?

I disagree with almost everything the OP said. The only reasonable comments were those about minion AI. Most of the rest of what he stated actually struck me as the opposite of the truth of the matter.
There are a couple cast times that are excessive (Spinal Shivers) and cooldowns that are too long (Signet of the Locust, arguably Well of Darkness). I definitely wouldn’t say it’s across the board, though.
The cast times are a bit debatable, but I absolutely agree that a few select cool downs are excessive.

1) +8 to all Stats
2) Convert a condition into a boon (ICD 30s)
3) +12 to all Stats

5) +16 to all Stats
6) Accelerated Transmutation (Decreases the condition → boon ICD to 7s)

I am totally against the OP on this. It is simply one more effort to conform all of the professions to have access to everything. I see certainly player groups push this in every MMO I play. As far as I am concerned, everyone already has entirely too much access to swiftness and/or speed in general.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
I believe incorporating the traits into the current system is probably extremely more difficult to work out then the weapons skills themselves. Doing so takes time, because it is likely a balancing nightmare.
It should be done sometime though. Every other MMO brings new skills to the table every now and then, and it’s not like they don’t face the same problem.
To be fair, every other MMO doesn’t have a competitive PvP scene. That doesn’t mean I don’t want my MH cross bow for my engineer I have been posting about wanting since beta weekend one. I was simply stating what I feel some may over look, and that it is not as easy as it may at first appear.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
The thing with healing surge and mending, is that they force you to do what HS explicitely allow you not to do. That is, to make a choice. Indeed, they aren’t exactly powerful, but not extremely weak either.
Role a warrior and tPvP with it over the next month using only mending and healing surge and then come back and tells us those aren’t weak. They can’t provide the level of sustain needed. I would love to get rid of the stupid signet and have a more active heal but the other options just don’t make the grade.
I use mending all the time in tPvP, it is not weak. the prehealing condi clear is great with condi necros/engies.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
No. It is not the only viable heal. Ask some engineers and mesmers if they would love to have a heal that removes 3 conditions. Engineers either have to hit multiple button presses to cleanse 2. It might serve the discussion best if you didn’t state your opinion as if it is favt, when it is simply your opinion. Particularly when using words that practically epitomize subjectivity such as “viable”.

On the topic though, why would you even bring this up OP? Animosity towards hammers? It is easy to dodge.
Define “cheesy” OP? What makes hammers cheesy? I love how everyone mimics buzzwords and tries to use them as subtle insults though, it makes me smile. Sometimes some originality when making complaints would be refreshing. ………. Anyway, want balance discussion are you trying to have?
Charr guardians with rucksacks? I almost never see this? Are you suggesting this is a common occurrence among all 50+ servers? Or are do you actually assume the few you see are cause to believe everyone does this?

For me personally, my opinion has changed to an extent based on someone posting the numbers. I can be swayed by comparative fact, and not hollow arguements. As I see it now, the change that fixed adrenaline, makes healing signet a reasonable heal. Particularly in the context of the current professions design. I do still feel the passiveness of it is lacking to some extent.
I had leveled all 8 professions to 80 shortly after release, primarily in WvW. This week I have spent several hours on each in WvW. Every profession has passives of some kind. In all of the other cases though, they require at least some action by the player or an opponent to one extent or another. Either by receiving an attack or making one in some fashion. I would like to see HS function in one of those ways. At this point, my only problem with it, is that it requires no action of an kind from the player or an opponent to offer healing comparable to many heal skills.

I think you have a personal axe to grind, I see no problem with them wanting to allow anyone that has purchased the game and had an active account to continue to post on the forums. Also, as Pixelpumpkin pointed out above, they were unable to log into the game for 2 months due to personal reasons…just what exactly do you see as their attitude towards their customers anyways…other than being accommodating.
My problem was Mark admitting they considered restricting people who had purchased the game but had not been active from participating on the forums. That and the attitude that there was a real issue with attention-seeking individuals pretending to be inactive and that he deemed it worth his time to be labeling players in this way.
He stated reasonable and proven facts. The fact that the discussed it is reasonable. The reasons the chose to take a different route show that there priorities are in the correct place.
There is a real issue. As he stated, it is a fact that players lie for attention. Call it labeling if you lile, but when the label is a proven favt, I fail to see justification for your anger.

Engi are fine . Celestial is not . Turrets only kill dumb peoples . IP needs to be reworked , not nerfed .

I have kill sooooo many players while i am in moa form. In my experience, it is often used when they realize they are going to lose. Often by then it is to late.
If they use it early on I simply use 2 to cripple them then run. Try to time my dodges, then use 5 as an extra dodge. It seems to work well. I don’t think this skill is even close to an “I win” button. It is an elite, with a solid cooldown , so the fact that it is strong is reasonable to me.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
I agree. That is an interesting idea. I would love to see how that would work with a shield or warhorn in particular.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
If it became a teleport, we would simply be complaining about how it suffers from bugs that teleport skills share, insteadof ccomplain in about how it has the current bugs that all ground based movements share.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
The skill is fine. It is a long cooldown. It is an elite. It is single target. Take 50 of your time to familiarize yourself with the skills the form gives you, and you will almost never die in moa form. It may be strong, but as a single target elite, it is only OP against weak players.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Uhmm no it hasn’t and that’s a blatant lie. Both the bow and the pets have been buffed. The combination is too powerful by a factor of 3.
I dont think they way the other poster used the word range, means what you think it means. He is right and it is a very provable fact. I challange you to prove the distance range of the skills have changed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
It seems to me a good option is to lower the passive, so that it still has sustainable value, while adding the heal per second difference into the activated function. This theoretically gives it the same value, but no longer promotes the concept of ignoring the active. As well, it gives warriors a bit of a heal in burst situations.
But you already have other active heals if you want to go down that path.
So your defending the extreme passiveness? You do understand that aspect is the problem everyone has with the skill.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Seems to me that part of the problem with the OP are the inaccurate assumptions made in the post. You imply things about professions, but not all warriors run hammer, not all engineers run grenades, and not all rangers run long bows. You imply certain professions are problematic, when it is actually the builds that are provlems.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c

This November balance patch shows basically nothing. They didn’t nerf cele ammy and autofear necro. They buffed random stuff. Only good thing is nerf to bearbow ranger.
Celestial Amulet is fine – it’s the might stacking and easy condi spam which is the problem with those builds.
Necro fear procs are a problem and need fixed, but they may be waiting until after ToG finals for that.
Explain to us how condition damage is “spammed” any more or less then direct damage. Because that appears to be what your implying,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
I would gladly take a 290 hps, after poison, over my 5100 heal every 25s before poison. The problem is coumpounded. It is better then every heal on every profession, in terms of hps, plus it is 100% passive,. Where every other profession has to stop it’s offensive actions or stop it defensive action, to heal, while warriors are free to spend that time continuing with there attacks or applications of defensive skills.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
No, the targeting is the same. You are misrepresenting it intentionally to try to shoe horn misinformation into supporting you opinion.
It does mean it is unreasonable to attack aspect of the game and state your opinion as if it were fact. Particularly when you imply there is something wrong with the game for not catering to you. All of that is a smaller matter when compared to the fact that you represent it in such a matter that demonstrates, that you do not care how your demands are detrimental to the rest of the player base.
If speaking to NPCs while trying to loot is not a problem, then why do you declare a need to change it? Why should I be locked out of speaking to an NPC simply because others are doing an event? That seems unreasonable to demand a change that hold up my progress at what I am doing, because you might speak to an NPC when you want to loot something.
I don’t think rare means what you think it means. I was just browsing a bug list page on the WoW forums. They had a thread that had 3 pages of bugs that players there are complaining about having existed since its beta 10-11 years ago. Another 3 pages of bugs for each and every expansion since. Perhaps before you lash out at someone for how you misrepresent your perspective, falsely implying that blizzard is any better or worse then any other company with bugs. It appears to me that they have a much larger portion of bugs that have lasted for 1-2 times the lifespan of GW2 entirely. I would hardly use that as a stellar example.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
All pulls are bugged. It is a mechanical problem, not a skill specific bug.
I really hope that’s the reason. That they’re trying to solve a core issue as opposed to per skill. Hence the time it’s taking.
I think everyone hopes they solve core problems on pull skills
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
I never see less then 3 warriors. If your claiming only 1 warrior. What are you suggesting is the ideal team composition?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Define “feasable” in this case. For that matter, define “interesting” in this case. Honestly, I have found use for all of then multiple times. Why should we change them?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
There are tons of skills that have similar problems. Flame thrower has a 10 hit AoE auto attack. Retal can be brutal.
The issue is with retaliation, it should be a % of damage done dealt back with an upper limit, but I don’t think anet will ever change the mechanic of this boon.
The skill(s) were done right in gw1.
Yeah I am inclined to agree. Either that or make it only take damage per skill and not individually for each hit on a skill.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Other then not liking the trait name suggested, I feel the the suggestions are on an agreeable path.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Some of the complaints here are a bit comical. You need to broaden your scope of view beyond the profession. Scorpion wire is not specifically bugged. All pulls are bugged. It is a mechanical problem, not a skill specific bug.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
warriors are fine really, the other professions need to be brought in line.
there are no warriors in the top 50 solo arena ranking anymore.
As has been said a hundred times previously, this has little if anything to do with how powerful healing signet is anymore. It is still one of the least fun thing to play against in the entire game, even when balanced or underpowered.
yeah right, so you are telling me, it is fun to play against:
- turrets
- minions
- clones
- stealth
- 1500 sniper machine gun long bow
- etcNo they aren’t. Would you be whining about them if they were fun to play against?
The difference is several of those are not fun to play against because they are currently overpowered or poorly tuned. Healing Signet is one such that will be anti-fun no matter what nerfs are made to it.
This is ridiculous.
What about stealth? Stealth isn’t fun to play against. I can’t have fun not seeing my opponent. What about clones? Clones aren’t fun to play against. It’s confusing and annoying to have so many things on the screen.
However these aren’t a problem – but HS is. Cute.
Actually, I feel the problem is that your trying to justify complete and total passive play, or lack of play. Poisons existence does not justify absolute passiveness.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
I like the idea as well. Hopefully it will promote them to make smaller adjustments and changes and limit them a little more from making larger, sweeping movements in how things work.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Some of these ideas show such bias that you can always tell the main, because the suggestion clearly hamstring other professions. No one desires a boon/antiboon or debuff/antidebuff system. A system in which boons and condition work independently, is both more dynamic and less system intensive. As well, I prefer to avoid the bad design suggestions that clearly benefit a specific profession or two,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
Finally, I can move with shield 4.
I made 3 separate threads in the balancing forum asking for this changes, and repeatedly got shouted down, insulted, and offered hollow justifications to prevent it from changing. Glad the devs ignored all that and came to agree with me.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q3em9s5I4c
I think this is a very bad idea. For multiple reasons. To start, the back end processing to keep up with what is canceling what, particularly with multiple opponent fights would increase from where it is now.
