Having waypoints available during combat isn’t a good way to get used to the dungeons.

Why? Because there is no penalty to not learning the mechanics. Someone is more likely to learn the mechanics if they know they / their team will be going down if they don’t pay attention.

Things like increased charge-up animation time and reduced damage help teach the encounter, because you’ll then know what to look for.

There isn’t anything wrong with failing as long as you learn something from it.

Also, 10 less tokens? I’d say drop it down to 30, at least, otherwise people will just farm easymode for the tokens.

False, there is a penalty for not learning the mechanic. It is called Repair bills and running back. Every death will teach you not to do that again. The old system was a great way in learning dungeon. It doesn’t frustrate veteran players because they aren’t affected by terrible player’s skills. It also more fun than not playing the game and lying down on the ground.

That is how I learned 99% of the dungeons when the game came out and I am glad that I learned from the old system before the new system came into place, I would’ve quit.

Block the next incoming attack. Riposte your foe if you block a melee attack. If successful, Riposte is instantly recharged(Or cooldown lowers to 5 seconds or something). If failed, Riposte is recharged for 30 seconds.
Damage: 168

Sword parrying warrior please. The duration of block channel is really short. I believe it is balanced well.

Craft the recipe yourself. It ain’t hard and there is no secret journey.

Just take your materials to the mystic toilet and get the recipe for cheaper.

Berserker stance is really useful.

I use it all the time in WvW whenever I use my longbow. Just pop up Berserker stance and boom, two combustion shots worth of adrenaline. Just need to wait 5 more seconds for another two combustion shots worth of adrenaline.

explorable mode dungeon access

You don’t need to complete storymode in order to play explorable mode.

You just need to do storymode in order to host explorable mode. If someone else have started Storymode, you can enter with them.

It should stay like this so that players have a reason to go back to do storymode.

Perhaps you should actually read the posts instead of just talking out of your kitten What has been suggested is that people still have to put in a LOT of time and effort to get their Legendary weapons. What they’re proposing is that the system for obtaining them be changed to actually reflect work, effort, and skill instead of pure, dumb luck and mindless hack-n-slash grinds.

Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing.

Getting a Legendary reflect work, effort and skill. If you don’t like how anet put in this system, don’t get the legendary. After all, Legendary weapons are made to be exclusive and hard to get. After all, they’re optional. You don’t need the stats, you don’t need the shiny, you don’t need the skin.

Please stop complaining about how the work is too hard and too long. There are already other players who achieved it, it isn’t fair to them that anet changes the way Legendary works for the vocal minority.

A new approach to transmutation

Perhaps then can make a new store item called a “Replicating device” that would store the chosen skin into the wardrobe. Skins in the wardrobe can be freely applied to weapons and armour.

Replicating Device = 500 gems for 1

This gives players a choice. They can go the cheaper route with existing transmutation stones or they can gain that skin permanently by replicating it into the wardrobe, albeit being a bit more expensive.

This is going to make getting another precursor so easy to get.

I would love to have dual Bolts while saving 750g.

Drop the elitism and pick up some sense. It is not legendary to buy the sword. Excalibur was never bought. Mjolnir was never bought. Gungnir, the Trident, the Lightning Bolt and Kusanagi were never bought. Powerful weapons from other fiction like the Master Sword, Frostmourne, The Heavenly Sword, Anduril, Ice, and The Soul Reaver were not bought. They all had history. They all required challenges and danger and adventure to get to. Buying or Mystic Forging a precursor is not “Legendary” its “Deus Ex Machina”.

I want to work for my legendary. I just want to do it in a diffrent way. Is that too much to ask for? Seriolsy, there are like 3 diffrent ways to get exotic armor(Drops, Crafting, and karma)…and yet Legendaries are only gold bought? I have no respect for that. Branding a legendary should say to me as a player “I worked hard for this, and I know how to play this game”. Not “I grinding in Orr for two days and used the rest of my paycheck to buy it”

You either work for it, or you don’t work for it.

Don’t like the work? Don’t get the Legendary.

I won’t be affected by this if the new system stays in place or the old system return.

In my opinion, I want the old system back.

The old system is great for new players to learn dungeons. When the new players keep dying in the old system. No one would care. It doesn’t affect the party much and we will be more willing to let the player continue. However, the new player will die a lot and he will learn from his mistakes. In the new system, If he keeps dying, I will be kicking him because he is holding back the group and he won’t know how he died because I don’t have time to bother explaining to new players.

When the new player learns, he won’t generate 11 silver repair bills. Instead, he’ll go through the dungeon smoothly and become a good player.

You’re spending 1g to give a ten or fifty of your guildmates to get this buff. If the individual food is cheaper, Buy the feast recipe and craft that then sell it to the TP or use it to buff your guildmates.

Best post I ever read. I REALLY want a legendary, but I REALLY DON’T want to commence this almost-endless grind that is required. I really have no idea how ArenaNet thought this was a good idea to begin with. It’s the most grindy, chore-like thing I’ve ever played. It’s completely against what Gw2 stands for. And it’s the complete opposite of the experience of the entire game up to lvl 80. I hope with all my heart that they change this. Cause naturally players will want to acquire these weapons after how Anet hyped them. I expected them to be hard to come by but not THIS hard. The suggestion OP makes regarding map completion etc. would be fair. Because it still requires lots of dedication and hard work. But it’s doable. The current system is also doable. If you are able to play 8-10 hours a day. But most players have lives, jobs, families and friends outside the world of Gw2. Maybe they’re only able to play 8-10 hours per week. In many cases much less. They don’t have the time required to attain these weapons.

Actually, I don’t like dailies system right now, dailies need to be changed to weeklies. So it helps casuals and other players.

Grind is one thing. Grinding for nothing but items to toss into a slot machine is as dumb as giving away precursers with purchased ingame lottory tickets.

I don’t like “kill 10 rats” Questlines, but TBH, the long, arduous questline I did In EQ2 for my Shadowknight Mythical made it the most memorable weapon I have ever acquired, in any game. The Quests were Lore filled, challenging, took me to every place in game and required me to consider faction decisions.

Anet could do this. They did in GW1. Why should Winds of Change, or War in Kryta be more lore filled, compelling stories than achieving a “legendary” weapon in this game?

Nothing about tossing mats in the Mystic Casino tempts me towards a Legendary.

Legendary is optional.

You don’t need a legendary. You want a legendary. Stop being entitled.

If they made legendary easier and less grindy, everyone would get a legendary and that would make legendary worthless.

#2 downed skills

All #2 downed skills are annoying. All of them can prevent a stomp from happening. But you can prevent that annoyance in the first place for some of the profession which is a plus.

The #2 downed skills that can be prevented: You just need stability/invulnerability/and sometime stealth to make that Guardian Knockback, Warrior’s hammerthrow, Necromancer’s fear, etc etc… worthless. Then you get to stomp them without interruption.

However, some #2 downed skills cannot be prevented at all, thus you are forced to be delayed. Elementalist’s mobility, thieves and mesmer teleport.

I propose that you can stomp the elementalist while they are in mist form(or vapor form, whatever it is called). This way, if you immobilize them, you get to stomp them while they are invulnerable. You can immobilize elementalist before they go into mistform but you cannot stomp them while they are in mistform.

For thieves and Mesmer, if you immobilize them, their #2 skill becomes worthless.

Because immobilize is a cheaper condition compared to the expensive stability/invulnerability, it would be more balanced if an elementalist cannot be immobilized while in mist form, or thieves and mesmer gets the same reaction time when using their teleports. This way, you need skill to prevent their annoying escape in the first place. Unlike stability, you don’t need player’s skill to pop up a stability to stop a guardian from knocking you back.

Guild Wars "2" Zerg Friendly

After a recent match up against a certain server it has come to my attention that there is a lot of issues that need to be addressed in regards to small numbers vs large numbers scale fighting. I am going to talk about the issues that make it extremely harder then it should be for smaller groups to defeat larger groups no matter how much skill is involved.

I disagree with all of them. I like how WvW plays right now. It encourages all style of play, small group to big zergs. Even small groups wiped out big zergs. Big zergs wipe out small groups etc etc.

#1: The biggest issue at the moment is the fact there is an AoE limit of 5 people. This gives a major advantage to the larger side as they do more damage to your team members then you can to theirs for example.

Example: If a 5v20 were to take place and each person stacked on each other.
The 5 man team would only be damaging 25% of their team while the 20 man would be damaging the 5 man team 100%.

Fix/Suggestion: The AoE limit must be increased (To what number I am still unsure of this but I would personally go with 10-20).

Completely against it. Zergs are really easy to join into. I do not want to join a zerg just to die. If you want to destroy zergs, learn to play. There are tons of organized guilds destroying larger zergs.

#2/#3: These issues coincide with each other and they are known as the downed state and revive mechanic (in combat). The downed state is still to strong when it comes to being outnumbered in fights. The damage and health of people in the downed state needs to be reduced as they deal too much damage and can tank for too long considering they are meant to be downed .The revive mechanic needs to some major work. The fact multiple people can resurrect someone faster then you can channel downed is a problem.

Example: Fighting in a 3v1 if the 3 people know how to resurrect you will never be able to defeat these odds due the fact they can resurrect someone quicker then you can down them.

Fix/Suggestion: I would decease the damage and health people have in the downed state by ~50%. This would make it feel like they were truly downed and not just giving a second life. The revive mechanic needs to be changed for when in combat, I would suggest you only let 1 person resurrect each player while in combat.

Completely against this. Big L2P issue.

If you don’t want players to be resurrected. Prevent their resurrection in the first place. Stomp them before they get resurrected. Use Invulnerability/stability to stomp them. Knock back the resurrecters. Etc etc.

#4: When looking at combo fields this one is pretty obvious this favors whoever has the most numbers are they can stack faster/longer and more often. This allows them to have alot more boons then you and gives them another advantage on top of the numbers one.

Example: A group of 20 people will be able to stack up to 25 might almost instantly and be able to retain it for most of the fight. Where as a smaller group (say 5)will have trouble reaching that many stacks and it will often fall off much quicker. Also during the fight people will often use combo fields without realizing it, and of course the more people you have means the more likely you are to have lots of combo fields to use.

Fix/Suggestion: Due to the fact this would be hard to maintain to only a certain numbers of people I would say you have to remove sharing combo fields and only let people use their own.

Dumb idea in general.

In otherwords, you want this game to be less about teamwork?

When talking about Ret builds, you have to know their greatest strength is when players attack them. This means you want to survive more.

That is a problem. Warriors suck at surviving.

So instead of building on survivibility, you are better off using Warrior’s strength as a weapon: Burst. Be the nuker instead of being a mere AoE fodder.

One change I would make to this build is to switch to sword/axe and axe/shield.

The problem with axe/axe and sword/shield is that it is too inconsistent. With sword/axe, you just leap in and nuke everything, then change to your axe/shield to wreck everything or block everything.

I watched the first 5 mins of that video and it didn’t seem like Retaliation was even a factor. Charge in, AE axe, group finishes off rest of zerg before they even get many attacks in on you.

It is in there, it is hard to see through that quantity of numbers.

It also position you inside the heart of the enemy zerg where ret works best. Where enemies sees you and start attacking you. If ret doesn’t work best in there, ret doesn’t work anywhere else.

IMO, Adrenaline rush should be changed to a 4 bleed stack attack.

This way, the warrior only lose the block when activated.

One change I would make to this build is to switch to sword/axe and axe/shield.

The problem with axe/axe and sword/shield is that it is too inconsistent. With sword/axe, you just leap in and nuke everything, then change to your axe/shield to wreck everything or block everything.

Suppose that an elementalist is summoning meteor storm, and you put symbol of wrath on a cluster of allies. Would the elementalist kill himself by doing this?

Suppose a GS guardian put a symbol of wrath on a cluster of allies under attack by an arrowcart.

Would the player on the arrow cart kill themselves?

What level?

If you are under 80, don’t worry about it and experiment everything.

Use sword/shield, axe/axe, mace/sword, greatsword, rifle, longbow, etc. The possibilities are endless.

Choose what build suits you.

Axe #2 has vulnerability, Vulnerability weakens mob so it does more damage to it.
Axe #3 has range cripple, so you can throw a cripple at a mob chasing down clothy.
Axe #1 has the best dps of the three. When an ally goes down, that ally attacks a low hp mob and you spam dps on that low hp mob to take it down so that ally will rally.

Better than 2 defiant removers, and a leap. Weakness doesn’t last long enough to matter.

Axe.

MH Sword and mace are kittenty weapons whether or not if you are damage or support. Sword’s only usefulness is the leap. Mace only usefulness is removing defiant.

Did Daggerstorm get nerfed?

I never played a thief. Before this patch, I was scared of thieves and their daggerstorm due to their OPness. Cripple, Strong damage, reflect.

Lately, I notice I don’t fear them anymore. I just go up to them and smack them with my axe till they die.

Timed Gate and diminishing returns doesn’t remove the grind. It just makes the grind longer. They’re not fun or enjoyable, They’re repetitive.

Kill 20,000 Elementals to get 250 lodestones and some other materials for this sword. That is repetitive.

Go onto this epic journey that test your skill to receive this reward. That should be ideal gameplay.

IF IF IF! You’re choosing to powercreep so you’re forcing the dailies upon yourself.

It doesn’t make dailies any more fun or any less annoying. No matter how much you disagree just for the sake of disagreeing.

I think if it bothers you, then don’t do it. It’s a game, above all we should play these things for fun.

Dailies aren’t a big deal, if you’re looking at it from a ‘lost once skipped’ viewpoint I think that’s the wrong way to. Play the game: If you complete your daily whilst playing it then great. If not? No big deal. Ascended gear are not needed at all in game unless you’re in the Fractals a lot I hear. And if so, well you’ll get your equipment in other ways, right?

And yes, while I’m generally against yet another form of currency being introduced into the game, for what it is I think it’s an okay start.

False, dailies are a big deal since Laurels are the only way to get Ascended Amulets. False, Ascended Gear are a big deal if you want better stats and not just agony resistance.

Before this patch, I would’ve agreed with you because I can get the rewards from dailies from the gemshop, TP, or simply karma farming.

But Laurels are exclusive to only Dailies and dailies only.

In order to powercreep, I am forced to do Dailies for that amulet only. At least Ascended Rings were fine because there are more than one way to gain them.

For that one thing that I agree with the OP is that dailies are annoying.

Before the patch, I could choose to skip it because dailies give me stuff I can already buy on the gemshop/TP.

But if I want to powercreep, I am forced to do dailies.

Already, You have to lose the leash from the enemy and wait a while before you can lose combat mode.

You don’t need to kill the creature. I don’t see how the solution adds anything useful.
