10/10. too bad this is gonna get nuked into “trash” soon.
This loot system is there to simulate the trash wars. So you buy bag slots/ bank slots etc. to even be able to manage it.
They don’t want you to grind stuff or achieve it in a reasonable time spend.

Minis not counted correctly for new achieves?

Ok so after going thread by thread cause search never works i found the issue.

If the NEW goal of account minis was to make players to soul bound the minis to the account.
EVEN if they already finished that same achievement and the chances of any player sitting on full sets just to restack the slots and not sell the minis as it was before not every high.

So make it clear that it’s a new achievement, show sets on the new collection tab in the wardrobe instead of one pile of everything. so it will make it clear as before what you need to get to finish a set.
Or if “its same achievement” remove the doubles. but change the achievement goal and new tab organization.

Same problem, finished sets 1, 2, had half of 3.
found the minis in the materials tab but achievements reversed.

Some elements of its basic are what the most “ugly” about this game.
- Horrid in game camera.
- Player visuals appearance don’t match its hitbox and collision.
- Swiftness and running down a ramp/hill.
- Some classes get rewarded for hotkey abilities to where other classes don’t get any reward to their ground targeted skills.

This are just some examples. before ranting about cash shop, gear progression, loot etc…
But you can see just how from these few it already splits into everything.

Leveling post April patch / new characters

Yesterday i started leveling my 7th class to 80, only that this time it’s a brand new character.
So this will be a short comparison vs the old system.

As a new character you need to unlock each and single trait by doing its mission.
This already forced me into being very less effective and limits my variety of playing the way i want to play, which was not an issue with the old system.

The ability to just buy the traits is not to make me explore the world is more of spend gold. which on these early levels someone with new account surely won’t have a lot of.
So this to me looks more of a cash shop cry that made an extra gated content for no reason. which also wasn’t an issue before.

I leveled most of my classes in wvw / eotm after i did full world explore with the first class.

Traits push back is also a major issue post patch, even for characters that were created before the patch.
Until about level 60+ you’re lacking a lot of useful mobility and survive ability traits and stats points that is very important vs fully geared 80’s.
Now that i’m also forced to go unlock the very little of the traits i could use in these early levels or go buy them just because of this new gate.
I don’t see this being anything than just a drag to new and old players leveling.

So the words “engaging, fun experience, progression, get people in the world” that were used to describe this system change by far last words i would use for this matter.

Same here.
I would go on a guess that if its tied to the gems store so on release it gets overflowed by requests.
Which means that it will keep blocking people from starting it.

P.S. it would be nice it there was any other indicator of what event started.
beside me knowing that there should be something and then going on the forums to find / trouble shoot how to and where.

This called “Extending your play time in game” aka waste more of your time waiting for stuff to happen.

As most of the “dynamic events” and world bosses you do something or not doing anything to get X.
Only that here you look how others play, could be fun? yes sure sometimes.
Not so much as when you need to get rid of stacks of tickets.
Added with the “no skills cooldowns reset” gets to the annoying levels.
Mix some horrid camera work and achievements that need trail and error to finish sure adds up for that “fun time”.

So event such as this could have a zoned out dungeon area where you could farm without problem.
could even have a better camera since it wouldn’t need to render everyone and everything below and not be in your butt 90% all the time.

So the few that farm this for drop pay the price for the artistic setting of “live arena” and pretty sure the gated time vs farmers.

Why is there no way to report griefers?

this “trollin” is also the way a few players on new accounts can ruin others servers game play by draining everything and its happening a lot.
but its no surprise anet can’t put 1+1 together most of the time and that is why there is nothing competitive that can be said about gw2.

This was the first time i done this event because i “took a break” from gw2 to say it nicely.
After these few months of playing daily during this season,
I can say that there couldn’t be a worse burn out for this game than this thing.

Shouldn’t be called a tournament when it’s easily exploited and rigged.
The “pre-season” aka stack the best server for max profit.
The “carrying alliance” aka cool game play element.
As well no doubt the hope for gems transfers from the slowpokes to achieve the first goal.

And overall the pointless duration, with the same matchups that pretty much becomes annoying, given the first factors for this “tournament”.

Maybe if the best items in the game you weren’t able to buy on the TP maybe then it will be not a such big deal.
But when everything in the game you get with gold, whats the point doing anything else if you get the ultimate thing by using the most easiest way to do so if you got the brains for it.
dungeons/fracs sets even that you can pay people to farm the path for you so..

Don’t hate the player hate the game.

So maybe if the game was a bit more rewarding for doing stuff that you don’t buy with gold.

Lets say wow arena / hc raids sure you might be able to “buy a spot” to get carried to get the best stuff but its still not just click buy on TP when you have enough gold.

What is “fair”? classes are not designed to be fair from the get go.
I play staff support ele so i know that unless its an afk cause of the amazing class balance no point for 1vs1.

and yeah like some already said “duel” isn’t when you drop on someone and they are at 50% hp already and you wonder why they run.

not sure how adjusted the pve is atm but i can tell you that you can forget leveling in wvw post patch.
if pre patch a level 40-50 could survive post patch its not really happening.

before the launch i remember it has been said that "gw2 will be about gameplay and skill based builds that players can choose how they want to play each class.
and “we don’t want to make a grinding game”

It has been 604 days, we are still waiting for any of that to be true.

aside that fact, the game now is the most grinding game out there and the RNG progress is just sad.
since all the pink stuff needed to be crafted is about 600g+max professions
that’s just for 1 set of armor and a weapon.

if hardcore players that don’t look for every possible exploit or a legit tp craft / sell.
15mins of boss fights are about ~40silver.

now what type of “casual” player you need to be to even get to that 600g if 15mins ~40silver.

this is not even talking about all the pretty stuff and purples.

So if you really don’t want us to grind / gold farm make it easier to get. i personally don’t care if everyone the best gear stats vise because then its competitive in areas like wvw.
or at least make the progress be equal AND viable in every aspect of the game.

they said that you “could get it” but didn’t say how many years it will take with 0.0000001% drop rates.

If you mean a track that rewards X item needed for crafting it, sure it will be nice but they will never do it.
so it will be pretty grindy track for each item needed, even then i doubt it will happen.
because that will give you an actual time until you get it.
plus people will abuse it as they do now. with costume arenas that turned on all so they get that progress but will kick anyone that joins on the other side after the game is started.

so make sure you feed the RNGesus with your time.

WvW problems / issues

I would like to know how all these problems can be talked about “hacking, exploiting, win trading, 2vs1 etc”

How we as the players can address this AND get this fixed without getting every thread deleted after 2mins for “name calling”, because how can you point out a problem without giving the example?
Or is just a form of hide in under the rug and pretend everything is fine?

Hacking and exploit, unless in masses seems to just go under the radar and people that do them just get away with it, if not on a personal level in general if done in wvw it still benefits the X server and so affects the score.

There is nothing against servers teaming up 2 vs 1 which is an exploit and not a “cool game play” and the worse part beside the illuminati rooms can’t even be proven and when there is a video on the official gw2 stream it turns into form of “oh you guys silly”

I read the rules and this question doesn’t cross any guide line or at least tried to minimize it to problem question because if there is no way to give feedback on these problems without them being delete after 2mins what is the reason for this sub forum.

I would ask players to stay in guide lines so hopefully this will get answered.

as this live stream just ended and one of the devs say that "it’s cool that 2 sides team up against 1 and that’s a cool game play.
this answers all complains.
WvW is now officially stack the best server + pay your “friend” server to carry you.

if this is not the most win trading i don’t know what is. don’t call this a tournament if there nothing competitive about it.

IF only this wasn’t a way that they also profit from then maybe you will expect a change.
but towards the other side that you’re bound to your server before the event was announced and until it ends and not so if you have extra money to pay for transfer and get the benefits.

also spoiler alert. people that plan to cheat / sabotage / spy etc just get an extra account.

just a note on the “extra map aka EOTM”
as nice it might have been to have this for when the main maps are full this also that bleeds players when maps are not full.
ofc maybe on the top of the top server there might be super chances for it being full. but for the 99% not so much.

besides what seems to happen that in the first week everyone done their achievements and no one cares besides that people that are dedicated or actually enjoy this “competitive game” which to me i haven’t seen anything competitive about it beside. unbalanced classes, unbalanced servers, lag and most abused transfers for benefits.
as well as 2 servers ganging on one and many other ways to exploit and cheat to get advantage.

Server dedication for X type of activity is usually why players roll on X server.
So this is why this looks like this currently, Most play for PVE so they pick the server for that so either its high pop, language choice, RP etc.
AND because lately anet decided to “super mega bosses hardcore style afk for hours for main” that takes more than a soft cap of a lobby to do it properly. most either transfer to higher pop or just guest.

So “how is this affects wvw?” easy. the rich get richer in full effect.
and this current tourney only shows how its depended on this.

So if you’re on a low pop server i would assume that even PvD is sometimes impossible just to get some “normal” progress.

TL’DR all elements of the game affect the servers balance and dedication of players on X element of the game.
IF the game requires more than 120+ people to do a new event / world boss, of course it will make people leave small servers and go to the high pop ones.
Or even move to the best one for the current event to get the full benefits if you have the extra money.

Yep horrible and since it’s a condition often you get that and a stun on you in the same time = dead.

IF and ONLY IF, all immobilized were “skill shot” that the player needs to aim at the ground and you for some reason stay in for over the duration of the first pulse it should be reapplied. pretty much how stuns work, static field for example.
Or at least aim the projectile in the direction.

But hot target click a button and then another to auto lock on some is very lame.
been playing a warrior in the last few days that isn’t even a 80 yet in wvw. i was able to kill / get players killed just by immobilizing them and stunning. and if it wasn’t another warrior / guard = auto dead.

Plus the amazing immobilize the downed ele just before he used mist from and “oh still rooted in place”.

P.S. i don’t really get what you would make them change some of the core abilities that some classes abuse, but they trying to fix it by changing cds and timers which won’t change anything besides if you would get a stack of defiance for few secs after you had “control effect” so you will be able to have the condition removal abilities picked to use.

Stuns need diminishing returns.

The thing that makes this annoying and very abused by some classes is the fact that immobilized and fear count as conditions and not a “stun or control effect” so you can’t break out of it.
Personally i facepalm’d at the very first time i seen this and often think “how on earth you design this like this..”
So abilities that are “stun breaks” don’t really help you and you need condition removal.

In my ideal world control effects don’t need to be in 2 groups like their are now.
This make the need for 2 versions of countering it in form of a abilities / utility skills.
So won’t be like some classes have best controlling effects and the best counters.
this “variety” so far seemed very lacking and abused mostly in spvp / and some in wvw.

“Balance will come later” 593days so far and counting.
beside that if compare balance and what to come or not, but you don’t take 1vs1 into account, isn’t this why it looks as it’s now.
that some classes have the better pets, the better survive ability in its core and etc.
that these “elemental pets” are useless in comparison.

also how do you stun someone that has stealth every 2secs, spawns more than 1 targets, or just immune to conditions in the time before you’re dead on the ground.

i feel like this is on paper sounds amazing. but in actual game play i see that air elemental maybe stuns 1 time in the whole period of time.
not sure how aware are you about the AI of these but they are just horrible.
it won’t keep attacking if you’re to use defensive abilities in like aoe or area target.
range from the target, attack speed,
most of the time it will stop as soon as you stop auto attack, i really hope that you’re not gonna say that you auto attack 90% of the fight in a 1vs1.

TL’DR when you can’t relay on something in a 1vs1 its useless.
plus at least in wow when you want to play a curtain play style you play that style and not a class that tries to mimic every class but does it very badly in comparison.

i can totally tell you that “RNG” is also capped on how many drops you can get each day / week / month.
been testing this for few weeks, and i notice that after doing wvw trains and 90% of the world bosses daily you start to get less and less loot after X point.
and seems like MF is totally there to trick you that you might get lucky but doesn’t actually do anything.
for example there is no way the best item you can get from teq with 250% MF is a rune or an opal. either the loot table is flooded with trash so every if you get that “rare” or “exotic” type loot you get 90% to get one of trash list but anything good is seems to be about 0.001%
this is just from the last few months. so lets say 40 tries on teq 6 runes and some crest or opal instead of a rare every time.

fyi there can be also a X limit of any loot that can be drop in the world.
so i won’t be surprised if its time capped for like 1 precursor a day/week/month limit.

I think “these weapons” are the reason everything else is so useless.
while trying to mimic other classes for 15-25 charges at a time, the “adjusted” stats are lost when you don’t have it.
So what you get is “here you can do some dmg for 15-25 skills” and now you bad again.
very nice “choice” we have there.

This would show how horrible the game balance actually is, they don’t want that.

SO IF the game isn’t made to be balanced around 1v1. where is the “play as you would like to”, or is their idea of “Fun” is giving skins for being worse than other classes out of the gate.

For the last few months i done the spvp daily on an ele with every possible build, and that time spent IS the worse time of any game i ever played.

And no reason pointing fingers on the next patch. cause if we wait 1year between these “balance” patches it only shows how bad of a state it’s at if it takes that long to fix it.
So maybe someone needs to check their “priorities” when it comes to what suppose to be a competitive area of the game when designing some classes out of the gate worse.

It’s an Entrapment by this class to make their mobilities and bursts more OP than it is. Ride the lightning already output Super Extreme Op burst than it should be. Reversing this lock-down would be a suicide to your vision for class balance.

They are already in The Holy Trinity, why make them more?

Instead, Elementalist are Overly OverPowered and are in serious need to be Nerfed/Balanced more.

You gave them Invincibility (Diamond Skin), what more?

More God Mode Burst; Ride The Lightning?

Rerolling NERFED [PvP]

It is not just PVP, the gated alts slots also limits your PVE in areas like achievements or just actually PLAYING the game for what you are already PAID for.

So the point is, stuff like traits reset anywhere was in the game, it was gated by the same GEMs price.
transmute same thing.
So with making these 2 feel like more “ok” so more would use it.
means what we get is 1 core game improvement that is no longer gems gated.
and making transmute more “in your face” improved yes. but it is their way to pull a LoL, dota2 , tf2, cs go type system.
which “should” be fine IF you get a decent chance to get these by playing the actual game with the rewards system.

Maybe on gemstore 3.0 …

It is mostly split between areas of the game, dragonite are more often dropped in world bosses chests.
So if you’re someone that is doing wvw whole day and get empyreal mats you will need to go do something else to get the other mats.

TL’DR its to force you doing something else in the game from what you’re doing currently.

“Skill” is not something that takes place in MMO’s.
If you based “Skill” from the current class design or other game design with set roles.
All these are often based on “So what did the dev missed and what i can abuse to get the advantage”
As for these type of roles, they are in GW2.
The fact that every class has some healing ability and some CC’s doesn’t means there are no roles, so this very fact is 100% set by its class design.

This is why in some area of the game so classes that were promised to be “play however you like” are pretty much the most not worth playing since other classes are design X times better for that role.

Take every element of the game.
Think about the about of CC, DPS, Healing, CDs, Armor etc.

Plus some classes are design to be press 2 buttons and deal more dmg + have way better survive ability.

So what is this “Skill” if you compare classes 1vs1 in spvp , or DPS/healing in dungeons etc.. that were designed “play as you would like” in every area and most of the time don’t come close to each other in each area.

That is all just before stuff like “how close you live to server” “did you farmed the right gear” and hopefully the dev not going to nerf it after you spent 2month of RND looting to feel like you made progress.

TL’DR pressing 2 buttons doesn’t counts as “Skill”.

So how this won’t be the next AFK / win trading system for free loots?

Also at the moment doing normal Q’s you get balanced around every time.
example: if you were the one capping everything and boost the score for your team, because of that people quit on the other side, so you end up auto balanced to the other team and lose the game.

Carrots are great but you need a healthy horse for the ride.

I missed the part when it’s compared to “Many other F2P title have similar offers”
maybe because i spent 80$ on a “deluxe” version.
So did we found a kickstarter so it will start cashing out everything in the game after a year or so after release?
and if this shift to make everything visual/skins @ 800gem aka 10$ aka ~74gold.
this starts to smell like worse than any “F2P title” since many people bought the game AND invested lots of hours into this what seems to be now a RNG progression system.

So as far for skins it’s really like it or not, boosts whatever if someone needs a shortcut sure, quality of life gathering+ salvaging, pets that reward achievement points “umm”, the need to buy extra classes slots to be unlock achievements.
All this already gated behind an extra pay way either it’s $ or pretty long grind in game with a try to make the player feel like it’s a great idea to drop that $.

So the main question how far will it go?

Some of the changes are good but what is the untold story line, what if tomorrow after unlocking achievement skin you will have to pay another extra to use it, or dyes will now be per charge.
Which i so hope it will be 0 charges/free to use as shown in the preview video.

Note: i didn’t mixed the redo of the UI and transmutation stones and/or saying it should be free.
