Returning Player WvW Guardian Build Help

Traits

Whatever build you run in WvW is going to have the virtues traitline. Without “Indomitable Courage” + “Absolute Resolution” you lose your emergency stability + condi clear.

If you run Valor, typically “lesser smite condition” is run along with “Altruistic healing”. The middle trait is either “strength in numbers” or “communal defenses”.

Honor is reserved for Pure of Voice unless you run mace.

Skills

Hammer requires awareness of the light field you put out on auto.

Mace isn’t very effective without Honor traitline’s Force of Will & invigorated bulwark. It is run with a shield.

“Stand your ground!” should be stapled to your bar. I use Renewed Focus for elite,

Other utilities are usually dependent on your party , but purging flames/save yourselves (use F2 after it or contemplation of purity) are typically used.

Gear

When I run guardian, I run wanderer’s gear (power,vitality,concentration,toughness) mixed with marauder (power,precision,vitality,ferocity) instead of celestial. It might be a bit suboptimal but it has longer boon duration (without relying on TWO Superior Sigil of Concentration), higher power, and more HP for condis.

Soldier’s is a bit dated but it should be fine , though I’d swap in Wanderer’s and a few pieces of marauder armor (it’s not that ridiculous to make unlike minstrel’s) or celestial for higher precision. If you are going through the Bloodstone fen areas, the Blood Ruby Backpack , Blood Ruby Pendant , Blood Ruby Band (one) will save you a lot of hassle in acquiring newer stats.

Regardless of how you get there, try to aim for 3K armor and 20K health.

Full soldier’s gear will likely be more defensive than you need to be if you run Durability runes. The 4% crit chance is abysmal , typically you can get 20-30% without giving up too much survivability provided you run celestial or 4 stat items.

Also because I don’t PvE often I run saffron bread which is much cheaper than mussels gnashblade.

If you decide to run Dragonhunter: Hunter’s Fortification is nice to run as well as Hunter’s Determination. Be aware F2 (Wings of Resolve) gets a higher heal & removes immob , but is no longer instant.

I don’t feel firebrand will be mandatory.

I feel many will experiment with scourge + spellbreaker. After 3 months (one fiscal quarter) , expect skill balance changes.

Scourge & Spellbreaker : in a boon heavy meta they will be staples
—- Spellbreaker’s Dispelling Force is inherent , with hammer or offhand mace there is much potential along with combos in lightning fields
—- All the Scourge’s shade abilities provide party support

Firebrand : unless you are running condis with axe I don’t see it being very different since there’s no ranged condi weapon; it would be a tough choice over DH or honor guardian

Mirage : dodge turned into Mirage cloak makes it more or less unusable without teleports such as blink ; Chronos’ alacrity is still strong and so is Gravity Well

Renegade : without fixes to the summons, it won’t be amazing but for Mallyx legend builds that want shortbow for ranged damage it could be an option instead of power hammer

Weaver : unless it gets major buffs I think it will likely be too much attunement swapping to get the proper skillbar , Unravel hexes is interesting but the rest of the specialization doesn’t really wow me

Deadeye : lowered mobility for rifle users so it will likely be for defending structures / scouting keeps . The deadeye marks may be used with regular thief weapons

Holosmith : decent exceed utilities but unlikely to be a staple and viability depends on if rifle / pistol and kits are tweaked to work with heat

Soulbeast : not too sure on this

Mace ....

Yeah mace works nicely in WvW for a build with some healing power, with a shield. Use it to apply healing and the shield works together with it. Works in large zergs as well as for smaller teams.

I sometimes used it with 2 pieces of healing armor.

Don’t really need much if any healing power if you run the Honor traitline with Invigorated Bulwark & Force of Will.

Virtues traitline is pretty much standard on every WvW build (Absolute Resolution for condi clear + Indomitable Courage for 2nd stability skill).

edit: Also Superior Sigil of Benevolence , Superior Sigil of Transferance are used.

It is one of the things I noticed with Holosmith (the lack of heat effects on rifle). Sword is not nearly as strong utility-wise as hammer in WvW.

I don’t expect many to run pistol given Photon Forge doesn’t appear too condi-focused.

I disagree any non-WvWers should be playing guardian because it requires timing of stability as well as much more awareness of positioning. I think it would be good advice to play a condi profession with dire / trailblazer’s armor and just join the main PUG zerg (i.e. necro or mesmer).

Unlike power professions, (ranged) condi is easier to play. Dodging bombs is no different than in PvE.

With a ranged power profession such as staff ele, even with marauder’s armor there’s less room for error ; if you put too many pieces of soldier’s you end up less potent than a condi class. Heralds with hammer are another easy option.

Renegade is going to be terrible

Renegade utilities are almost poor versions of necro wells. The warband members can be killed & CCed, and aren’t mobile. This brings the downsides of turrets / pets / phantasms to the Renegade.

Citadel Bombardment needs a energy decrease, it’s a huge energy cost.

For shortbow, I think the last thing you want is for more ranged condi spam on a heavy class.

Renegade as a whole needs looking at, but shortbow needs to be looked at taking into account other classes’ lackluster ranged weapons.

Renegade summons probably need a breakbar at least.

People in WvW use mace+shield sometimes for zerging. The block, aegis + protection are useful. It isn’t that terrible after the slew of buffs over the years.

Deadeye provides a role for thieves in WvW zergs: pinsniping becomes much more potent.

I feel that the use of deadeye to defend structures is more likely than roaming though.

I think Holosmith has a bigger issue in that scrapper’s hammer is a strong weapon , not so sure about sword other than as damage. You lose the option of Adaptive Armor, in addition to stability from Perfectly Weighted.

Holosmith could fulfill a midline role with the Photon forge , Coolant Blast is respectable, Spectrum Shield is pretty strong , Photon Wall forces enemies to engage in melee but Bulwark gyro already fulfilled this purpose.

I just can’t find a reason to use axe over scepter at all.

Also, losing alacrity from chrono is very bad. Alacrity makes sieging structures easier.

Mirage cloak is not superior to dodge because your position is the same. Want to dodge across a bridge to evade a ton of AoEs? All you do with mirage cloak is evade and die to cleave + whatever was dropped late…

Axe auto needs a damage increase. It’s melee range vs scepter (scepter also has much easier clone generation)

Axe 2 needs some sort of damage mitigation , maybe evade/barrier… whatever they feel is fair

Scourge WvW : Guild Reaper Perspective

I think the problem is you’re comparing Scourge with Reaper.

Scourge gains more (mediocre) boon corrupt skills + burning + party support in exchange for personal stability.

“Nothing Can Save You!” is a stronger skill than the scourge punishment skills ; Reapers packing Path of Corruption also had a boon corrupt on 2 boons.

Superior sigil of Torment’s 5 cooldown was probably not factored into Demonic Lore. However, I feel that Feed from Corruption is likely a stronger trait for WvW if for some reason you run a power build Scourge.

With reaper’s deathly chill you don’t have as many options to induce condi damage.
Staff marks lose that advantage (fear / chill —> bleed) in exchange for torment. This makes scepter 3 / Feast of Corruption a condi powerhouse especially with expertise boosts from Sand Soul & possibly Fell Beacon.

Also without the option of Relentless Pursuit , the Scourge is more susceptible to CC.

Because shades are so important , life force generation from Soul Marks and/or Nourishing Rot is necessary.

I believe the trait change to Speed of Shadows (stops you from using Soul Marks) was to fulfill the lack of stab on Scourge: it grants swiftness and removes movement impairing conditions when entering shroud. Foot in the Grave also grants stability, but you lose the burning from Dhuumfire (which isn’t as big as on condi Reaper since Reaper shroud auto has no condi on its own)

As far as WvW goes: full counter is good.

Dagger needs a buff to damage since it only hits 2 targets. Boon strips should be more targeted (i.e. burst removes protection) .

Maybe have dagger 4 remove retaliation and fury.

I think axe should increased in efficiency and exist as the condi version of sword… in its current iteration it begs the question of “why use a melee range weapon” when scepter exists.

Axe 1 : meh
Axe 2 : give it some sort of damage mitigation?
Axe 3: broken

The utilities didn’t impress me either ; elusive mind is the only standout trait.

I feel like shortbow exists to make mace+axe viable for condi rev with mallyx , exchanging dwarf stability (brick road) + 50% damage reduction (stone RotGD) elite for condi.

However, the utility skills are decent.

All the mantras were unusable for me and I feel the tomes are almost a lazy copy-paste of engi kits.

Just about every guardian has “stand your ground” + condi removal (save yourselves , contemplation of purity, purging flames), so mantras need to fulfill some void. I want to like Mantra of Lore , but I feel it is too unreliable (for me).

From a WvW standpoint I just don’t see it taking over whatsoever.

1. sword is niche , barrier won’t save you for long
2. the need to switch through two attunements to get skill 3 to be what you really want (esp. on water 3 , weaver’s Pressure blast)
3. the utility skills are lackluster , Twist of Fate requires Unravel hexes traits to be strong
4. you lose the heals from tempest & aura shares …
5. most people run water + fire/air traitlines and earth or tempest for defense , this doesn’t feel strong enough to me traitline-wise either
6. Bolstered Elements is pretty tame compared to the invulns flying around
7. dagger mainhand is pretty weak without tempest for WvW , Ashen Blast could be blast finisher or be given some burning

I feel as though the auto attack and dual attack on scepter should be re evaluated for weaver. It could be a much more viable WvW weapon for weaver than sword.

Sigil of Battle is garbage. There’s a 9 second cooldown on it. You ought to use Sigil of Force or Sigil of Strength if you want might stacks.

Sigil of Energy is advantageous for elementalists as well, but it also has the 9 second cooldown.

I run GW2 on a Surface Pro 2 which is an i5-4300U with integrated graphics and a total of 4GB RAM. Runs great if you turn all the settings down

If it runs on that, it should run on about anything.

Nope. Not in WvW with blobs.

For WvW you should have a high clocked Intel unlocked CPU (i5 is fine if you don’t stream and don’t use anything other than GW2 and TS otherwise i7) and a discrete GPU with GDDR5 , GRR5X, or HBM. The GPU counts less.

Turn down model limit and post process.

If AMD Zen has the 40+ improvement in “single threaded” performance then it may be worth buying but at this point an Intel unlocked CPU is the way to go.

If it’s a new PC I’d probably do something like

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K or Intel i5-6600K
CPU cooler: ~$30-40 CRYORIG H7 , be quiet! PURE ROCK , Thermalright TS-140 or equivalent well-made cheap cooler

Giver’s armor is outright trash though , a full set only provides 6% boon duration. At 1% boon duration (15 concentration) it needs an overhaul to use concentration. The helm/shoulder/gloves/footwear piece should give at least 2% boon duration.

In reality for 3 stat items it would be +43 concentration for headgear, 32 concentration for the shoulderpiece/gloves/footwear ,96 concentration for chestpiece, 64 concentration for the legpiece —> 299 in total for exotic = 19.9% boon duration (let’s just call it 20%).

In their current iteration Wanderer/Commander/Vigilant/Minstrel’s armor give up to ~ 14% boon duration.

However, given that boon duration and boons in general are being looked at , it would likely have to involve splitting the stat to vitality (unlikely due to Minstrel’s), condition damage, power, ferocity, or precision instead of having a set of 20% boon duration armor.

While the tech is there to do a replacement of all gear type of X to a select-stat equivalent like they did with MF, and while it’s in all seriousness the best option if not required for things like durability runes, I doubt they’ll have the courage to do it.

Really, I expect a little stirring, but I sincerely doubt anything substantial will change, because those substantial changes are about the only way to fix things; we already know they’ve pretty much failed on the whole boonshare front.

Durability runes being nerfed would not be surprising , the issue is to what extent.

Things that would gut it as an example:

  • removing all the resistance and protection boons “on hit” except for regen and increasing the cooldown to 60 or 90 seconds
  • taking away the +125 vitality or lowering it substantially to +50 or something similar
  • removing boon duration completely or increasing only the boon duration of regeneration/protection by 20% or 30% , making it only a defensive rune
  • Dropping the affecting allies part “on hit” while dropping resistance

Minor changes:

  • removing resistance and replacing the resistance with 2 seconds of aegis , while increasing cooldown to 35-45 seconds … 3s protection & regen for allies is still a strong effect (Aegis is typically 35 or 40 second cooldown from Guardian virtues)
  • dropping the chance on hit to 10% instead of 25%
  • removing resistance and replacing resistance with “-5% condition damage received while under protection”, increased cooldown to 35-40s
  • dropping boon duration to +10 % or 15% in total (keep in mind 1% = 15 concentration)

In its current iteration it does too much defensively and offensively, +20% boon duration on all boons includes might/fury/quickness/swiftness/etc.

The baseline for comparison ought to be:
Trooper runes = +175 Vitality, +100 Toughness, Shouts remove a condition from each affected ally.
Melandru runes = +175 Toughness, -25% stun and condition duration
Rune of the Herald = +175 Toughness, +15% Boon duration, on heal skill apply protection to nearby allies (360 range, 10 second cooldown).
Rune of the Earth = +175 Toughness, 25% chance for Protection for ~4 seconds (cooldown = 30s), +30% protection duration, < 20% HP then magnetic aura for 5 seconds. (Cooldown: 90 seconds)

You have to remember when a DH with AH gets the trigger , it is also a 3×70HP heal per person affected, so it’s at least 210HP and up to 5 allies = 1050HP

I prefer ninja-ing than scouting these days. After they changed WvW to have the “marked” debuff and watchtowers, it is less and less useful to have multiple scouts in each objective.

Scouting is something to do in WvW when you are semi-afk (eating or watching a movie on another screen for example) plus with the new squad scout mechanic you get some credit.

The problem is there are some runes that are so much more powerful defensively to the point they are barred in PvP:
*Rune Durability
*Rune of Mercy

Also boon duration would be 1% per 15 concentration so many of those +20% boon duration runes would be +300 concentration (compared to a +175 main stat boost on most runes).

The same goes for increased condition duration on every condition, which is 15 points of expertise.

All the runes less than 5 silver should be looked at for minor changes really for example:

= Random mob summoning runes=

  • Superior Rune of the Flock … ditch the bird completely?
  • Superior Rune of the Privateer , add something to rune’s 6th effect instead of a parrot (make the parrot appear as a mini perhaps for novelty)
  • Superior Rune of the Lich , add something to the rune 6th effect instead of a jagged horror
  • Superior Rune of the Golemancer , add something to the 6th effect besides a random golem

== Tyrian Gods=

  • Superior Rune of Balthazar , change to “healing or shout skill” for the burning — making it applicable for Berserkers, burn Guardians , Rangers, Tempest, and Reapers (maybe if a condi tempest comes around too)
  • Superior Rune of Dwayna , change to “healing or shout skill” for regen , increase cooldown to 15-20 seconds (druid/tempest/guardian)
  • Superior Rune of Grenth , change to “healing or shout skill” for the chill — making it applicable for Berserkers, burn Guardians , Rangers, and Reapers (maybe if a condi tempest comes around too)
  • Superior Rune of Lyssa… not sure how to fix this? +5% Condition Duration to an added +10% or +15% slow/torment/taunt duration would be a start
  • Superior Rune of Melandru , add -30% incoming immobilize duration , this was run heavily before Durability came

  • Rune of the Centaur , add -30% chill /immob incoming duration on top of the -50% Incoming Cripple Duration

  • Superior Rune of the Rata Sum , make it reduce incoming weakness duration (although precision and conditions are often not used together to great extents) or increase outgoing vulnerability duration
  • Superior Rune of the Air , ditch bonus (4) swiftness on heal for something offense-oriented such as shocking aura and/or +15% outgoing vulnerability duration
  • Superior Rune of the Earth , add something like -20% incoming bleeding duration and lower cooldown to 45 or 60 seconds on the magnetic aura
  • Superior Rune of the Ice , add -20% incoming chill duration this just needs an outlet such as a Mystic forge recipe since it is a crafted rune with oversupply
  • Superior Rune of the Adventurer, add something to the 6th effect such as “when you use a healing or elite skill you gain 10 seconds of vigor and 50% endurance” …this is a crafted rune so a Mystic forge recipe might be useful to deal with oversupply
  • Superior Rune of the Undead … a crafted rune with oversupply needs a Mystic Forge recipe or something
  • Superior Rune of the Krait … this is crafted so a Mystic Forge recipe could be added
  • Superior Rune of the Afflicted … heavily oversupplied , +5% or +10% bleed damage would help maybe
  • Superior Rune of the Necromancer , isn’t terrible but perhaps +10% poison duration or +10% torment duration would help given that fear isn’t a common thing to apply constantly?
  • Superior Rune of the Sunless … mainly an oversupply issue
  • Superior Rune of Scavenging … lots of oversupply and mediocre stats
  • Superior Rune of Rage, add Might to the Fury from Bonus 4
  • Superior Rune of the Grove , perhaps some vitality instead of +10% protection duration for bonus 2, it has a scribe recipe so it is just oversupply
  • Superior Rune of the Dolyak … this once costed about 1 gold but Durability rune is strong

GW2 is the most grindy MMO on the market currently. At any moment you can lose 6+ months work due to “balance”. A single set of gear costs 1000’s of gold and respeccing it costs casual players months of play time.

It is much easier to gear up in WoW or SWTOR or similar MMO’s. Unless you have 4000+ hours in GW2 or a lot of money to burn prepare to spend months and months grinding for gear that could be rendered useless at any moment.

The problem is raid design. It should not be a timer-based thing.

Also if it is 1000g+ it is likely ascended items + runes/sigils (sigil of concentration is ridiculous). Perhaps the Mystic Forge was not used in the formation of the Commander stats with “Oiled” or “Jeweled” parts.

All ascended weapons are below 200g until you price in the cost to swap to a particular stat set using the Mystic Forge.

So, why no nerf to durability runes , Plate of Mussels Gnashblade ( and all +15% or +20% boon duration food such as Bowl of Nopalitos Saute/ Loaf of Candy Cactus Cornbread / Chocolate Omnomberry Cream / Spring Roll), and Sigil of Concentration?

While you’re at it might as well change all doubloons and snowflakes to concentration as well instead of a flat percentage and standardize it so that doubloons don’t give more stats than jewels split across multiple stats. (i.e. Platinum Doubloon < 3.67% boon duration since it would be 25+15+15=55 concentration for a 3 stat item)

Giver’s armor should be adjusted to concentration (1% boon duration is only 15 concentration) or to match the weapon stat set instead of its mere +1% boon duration. (although even more Condition Duration may be excessive)

Why can’t Signet of Inspiration have higher swiftness uptime instead of its current RNG passive? Currently it is stronger than Heat Sync + Sand Squall mainly due to the boons from chain-shattering with Bountiful Disillusionment and the second phantasm trigger regen from Echo of Memory/Deja Vu when used in conjunction with Illusionary Inspiration. So if you want to be technical about it, Illusionary Inspiration is what sets it apart from Heat Sync. Putting additional cooldown of say 15-20 seconds on Illusionary Inspiration would alleviate this.

Naturalistic Resonance nerf is semi-expected.

Superior Runes need to be looked at & balanced a bit for the ones that are <5 silver. I had a bunch of Strength,Hoelbrak,Traveler’s, and Melandru runes that are now worth a fraction of what they were. This is good for availability. I wouldn’t mind seeing all Superior runes below 2g (i.e. a set is <12g).

Ascended armor is ridiculous due to the spike in leather price

Ascended weapons are slowly dropping in value so that’s good

Please add a stat change item for the accessories (4000 unbound) , which cost more than what the bloodstone amulet costs in unbound magic.

The bloodstone ring was fair in that it costed 2k unbound magic while the amulet costed 3k.

The sheer amount of unbound magic needed to make a set of Trailblazer’s/Viper’s, Marauder/Commander accessories is a bit much.

(Accessory = Sparking Petrified Wood)

Circus items’ pricing is comical. Have the circus tickets reduce the price further.


Other issues:

Pyroclastic jade is very ranged centric, I see warriors using rifles and bows

Too much inventory slot pollution with dwarf thumbs , eggs, trophies, etc

You don’t need ascended armor. The ascended trinkets and weapons do provide a larger stat boost.

Marauder gear isn’t too expensive. I’d get a set of marauders armor + soldier’s / cavalier’s/ crusader’s for the ele and play that , along with Durability/Trooper runes.

If necro just run wells necro with a power build using marauder stats and some cavalier’s trinkets.

Trailblazer’s / Viper’s is super expensive if you want to run condi necro. Dire / carrion / rabid would work okay if you can pick up trinkets from Bloodstone fen or something.

There should be a free HoT legendary if you get Ultimate Dominator, honestly or AT LEAST the ones on the Trading Post.

Each maxed out title in WvW should give an ascended weapon/armor box. It’s essentially the only thing relevant besides ascended trinkets.

I.e. Defender of camp/keep/tower/SMC = Defender’s box of armor, Assaulter of camp/keep tower/SMC = Assaulter’s Box of weapons/armor

Then have X maxed WvW titles = legendary backpack.

Current titles:

Except people kill traded in OS to get ultimate dominator and excessive loot. I don’t know anyone that is even close to ultimate dominator from normal WvW even playing most evenings for nearly 4 years.

Not saying some haven’t got it legit through pressing 1 on their lootstick guards when massively outnumbering other groups, just not anyone I personally know.

I have Ultimate Dominator and theres at least 10 people with it on my server that all got it legit. We didn’t even play EoTM to do it. We played WvW normally.

Yeah, I didn’t say some won’t have it legit but 250k kills is a lot especially if you’ve been on a bronze server most of your GW2 time. To have it by now you’d have to get about 170 kills a day, easy enough if you played a GWEN character and zerging in T1 but not everyone can or wants to play like that. Making ultimate dominator a requirement for the legendary back piece would rediculous.

They could have Ultimate Dominator automatically give the legendary WvW item and an alternative of X maxed WvW titles (3/5/10/etc) for the same backpiece.

Wvw needs new achievements as a general rule. sPvP has twice as many possible points as wvw.

You can get ascended weapons/armor/rings from level-up boxes and rewards track boxes, we’re in good shape for those as it is, since ascended gear is not necessary for wvw.

In all seriousness, Rune of Durability should be the first priority gear-wise. For example, the resistance could be swapped with Rune of Resistance’s aegis , the boon duration could affect solely defensive boons (protection/aegis) , etc.

Mechanics-wise, some sort of additional benefit to upgraded structures should be put into place.

I wish that they added shortbow (900 range) or longbow (1200 range) to revenant with condi , but not to the point that range damage overshadows melee range damage (looking at hammerbolt/CoR on hammer).

I disagree with giving hammer the burn condition, especially when it is multiple stacks.

I like Wanderer’s since you get more health (and boon duration) with it.

Unless you run Empowering Might or Sigil of Strength you don’t need that high a crit chance if you have herald revenants (so 20-25% crit chance from marauder/commander pieces is acceptable).

IMO rune of durability should drop resistance and Rune of resistance should gain it as well as some – condition duration (see Hoelbrak/Melandru). Perhaps the boon duration should only affect defensive boons as well (protection/aegis or better yet stability only).

Also compared to Rune of the Earth, the cooldown should be higher on Durability runes:
25 Toughness +10% Protection Duration +50 Toughness 25% chance when struck to gain Protection for 4 seconds. (Cooldown: 30 seconds) +100 Toughness +20% Protection Duration;
when struck below 20% health, you gain a magnetic aura for 5 seconds. (Cooldown: 90 seconds)

Also overloads in general are better if you are closer to the targets so it really depends on your gear. If you’re running marauder/berserker’s then no it isn’t a good idea.

The skirmish timer shows 1 hour even when the skirmish has just ended. Clearly there is an issue when the timer is between 1 hour and 2 hours.

I noted this once skirmishes were put into WvW. Will this be fixed?

Playing staff elementalist right now in WvW is just the most unpleasant and frustrating experience you can have in this game, or in a MMO.

Nothing hits because of the huge delay between skills, damage is way below what other class can do with much easier means, and even with super high toughness you still get 1-1-1-1 to death before your first skill goes off if you don’t have permanent protection upkeep.

In PvP it’s the same, you’re just good at healing others and there is no build variety. Great job!

Compared to how fun the class was to play on release, this is complete kitten balance work by a team that apparently doesn’t care if in a PvP match with 10 players 8 of them are guardians.

I’m taking another break from this game. See you in 6 months or a year maybe, if the balance team ever actually balance the game instead of destroying the gameplay and build variety.

Had a bit of fun switching class to Revenants and killing other elementalists pressing the “2” key, but then I realized playing classes that I don’t enjoy because my main class is broken is not worth the space on my hard drive.

This is the first time I’m hearing staff elementalists complain about not being useful in WvW.

he said unpleasant and frustrating, which dmg staff ele is. i’ve been playing healbot way more often than dmg now and even guys that organise squad ask for healbots, which are more useful to their squad especially when it’s laggy. I can give up to that heal tick as on pic just by standing around. dmg staff gets evaporated in laggy fights and can’t really do much dmg anyway.

Well if you sit in water attunement on a staff ele you are never going to do much damage. A delayed ice spike is about it. Also it is likely a team comp /coordination issue. If everyone on the enemy team is spamming boons you need boon strips.

Staff ele only does its main damage on fire attunement (lava font / meteor shower). Air attunement is a joke if you’re at staff range and don’t have line of sight, earth attunement is semi-workable if you have condition damage spec (some pieces of celestial/Sinister/etc).

In this boon meta, if you run a tempest with high toughness and auras you’re better off with Dagger+warhorn. IMO save the staff for AoE-ing walls with meteor shower and taking down siege with auto + lava font + meteor shower. With the changes that have conditions damaging siege , condi reaper with staff is stronger for suppressing walls compared to staff ele. The advantage to ele staff is the radius of meteor shower.

I think he’s asking for itens with these stats combinations which are only avaible in the spvp amulets and not for the amulet system itself. I would like to see some of these stats combination added to the current stats in the game. I surely would play a lot around Destroyer, Diviner and Seeker builds.

I’d love to see it. But for them to do it, they would have to add them to PvE first, what is more complex. Creating new recipes, ingredients, drops, npcs and other ways to get it and craft it.
Or they could give us WvW players a hand and just add a npc where you could buy the recipes with badges. That would be cool.

Last I checked people only run Commander’s (mesmers) and Berserker / Sinister /Viper in PvE except for healer druids?

Adding it to WvW and requiring memories of battle would make it accessible to PvE players anyway, they can buy them off the TP for coppers. It could be 250 memories of battle + laurels or 250 memories of battle + 10 badges of tribute if it’s that much of an issue.

An alternative to a vendor is a Mystic Forge recipe akin to the Triforge pendant. Have it cost something similar to:
Amulet: Siege Masters Guides, Badges of Tribute, Memories of Battle, Tomes of Knowledge
Ascended Hero Weapon (not Mistforged): Hero Weapon , Gift of Battle / Memories of Battle , Tomes of Knowledge /Badges of Tribute , existing Ascended Weapon
Ascended Weapon (not Mistforged): Memories of Battle , Tomes of Knowledge /Badges of Tribute , existing Ascended Weapon

Also the stat combinations can be added to the Blood Ruby and Raid items (Talisman of Manton).
