Be sure to infuse your rings before you salvage them. It increases the drops from them to the point that it is advantageous to do so.

There are also the specialization collections that will reward you with an ascended elite specialization weapon – torch for berserkers, longbow for dragonhunters, shield for chronomancer, staff for druid, staff for daredevil, hammer for engineer, greatsword for reaper, warhorn for tempest, and shield for herald. Plus you can also complete the mistward armor set for revenants for a set of exotic armor.

Bloodstone Rubies, Petrified Wood, and Jade Shards are exotic, meaning if you salvage all 250 of them you need to click 750 times to salvage them. I would like to suggest changing the rarity to Rare so we can salvage all of them with one click. Thanks!

Actually, it’s worse than that, you get asked each time if you really want to salvage it since it is a really important rare item. So salvaging a full stack of each should require at least 1500 clicks, IIRC.

One thing in the meantime that would probably be worth doing is to take your character to LA, exit south then run down through the maps (avoiding enemies) till you get to Fort Trinity WP (and unlock the one just north of it on the way), in straits of devastation.

As that way if you get any Orr dailies again before you’re at lvl80 then you can still do some easily without fighting enemies. As for Orr visa viewer, there’s is a vista in the fort near that WP, for forager there’s a farm just NE of the WP above Fort Trinity (can walk around the odd enemy near it) and for miner, there’s normally some nodes just SW of the fort where there’s no enemies. You could probably do lumber as well, by going NW of the fort there’s normally tree nodes with enough space to go around enemies.

For Heart of Maguma try and find a guild with a guild hall and nodes, that will at least give you an easy option if a gathering one comes up.

Enter the Chantry of Secrets and then do the map exit (rather than back out the entrace into bloodtide. That’s had the benefit of popping me out of the portal at Ft. Trinity a couple of times. Probably have to have the personal story done to at least the point the pact is at Ft. Trinity, but it’s worth a shot.

yeah i feel kinda the same way… i play casually and don’t craft at all and now 2 expacs deep into gw2 it seems more and more specs will be going the condi route..

which is a shame because i like power.

I feel like i am being punished for not crafting(which i totally hate tbh it’s such a chore) so i bought my gear using karma from temple vendors.
(snip)

AncientYs: Take a look at gw2crafts.net. If you don’t like crafting, this site has guides to level crafting professions the fastest, and cheapest. You level it once and only go back to crafting when you want to do something specific – like change stats on your ascended armor to something new. Once you have all the mats, should take you less than an hour to go from 0 to 400 for any of the professions. Should be less than that to go from 400 to 500, but it really is not that bad. With a little bit of thought and research, crafting can make a decent amount of money as well.

As a scribe…believe me, I can understand your point about crafting complexity and being a chore, but the core crafting disciplines aren’t really that bad – though cooking CAN be an annoying pain sometimes…

I shall join the thread….can someone advise on a guide to craft ascended weapons? I spend most of my time in WvW and open PvE…is that ok or do I need dungeons and fractals?

2 web sites that will GREATLY assist you with crafting:
a. gw2crafts.net – crafting guide that will dynamically show you the cheapest way to level specific crafting professions, including using mats you have.
b. gw2efficiency.com – besides being able to datamine the heck out of your gw2 account (to find that one pesky achievement you were working on but can’t find again…), there is a crafting section that will show you the cheapest method of crafting each item in the game.

Additional point on crafting professions: there are 9 in the game, 8 are for yourself, the 9th – Scribing – is about crafting stuff for your guild. So don’t try to be a scribe unless you’ve got a guild to support and supporting you.

Kaltyn of Torbins Deep.2946

Out of 9 level 80’s on 2 accounts, 6 are map complete on all 4 HoT maps. Of the ones that aren’t – 1 is a Guardian that I’ve had for a month or two that I’m still learning to play, My revenant has turned into a mule but is still at 75% of Tangled Depths – the other 3 are done, and the engi…that I’m still figuring out how to play (not to mention gear). Of those same 9 level 80’s, exactly 1 has 100% world completion. The rest sit between 40 and 65% world completion (yes, I know HoT maps don’t count towards that), except for the Guard who is down at 11 or 15% complete.

I run Dragon Stand on dead maps just to collect the 8-10 noxious pods that spawn. And rarely get tagged even once by mobs by dancing around the edges and never even aggro’ing the mordrem patrols. Most of the time I run it on my Reaper and don’t even pop my blood fiend because it’s more likely to aggro something than I am!

To the OP, the HoT maps can be very frustrating when you first get in them. Once you learn your way around, they become much more fun and interesting. When and if I buy PoF is still up in the air a bit, but even if I do, I won’t be leaving the HoT maps.

World completion

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Kaltyn of Torbins Deep.2946

1. Dragon Stand does not count towards world completion.
2. In Dragon Stand, there is a POI, HP, and waypoint inside each of the 3 blighting towers that can only be gotten to upon successful completion of the map. There are 1 or 2 POI’s, an HP, and a vista inside Dragon Domain that can only be gotten to after killing Mordremoth. Outside of the blighting towers and dragon’s domain, you can get every HP, POI, and HP in DS, even on a dead map. There are also 8-10 noxious pods spread among the three paths on dead maps. And if you’re smart about it, you can get them without getting into fights.

Ascended armor and weapons can be stat swapped in the mystic forge. You do need the correct EXOTIC inscription or insignia that you want to swap to, but it is generally cheaper than crafting new, at least for armor. But you will lose your runes.

Second, exotic armor is generally fine for everything – even raids – unless you’re trying to do a speed clear. Trinkets and weapons are substantially more important than the armor. Having said that…many will feel it is worth the expense to craft the ascended armor for HoT stats than to waste the money and mats on the exotic set. So if you ARE going to craft new HoT stat armor, rather than stat swap, you’re probably better off going the ascended route.

Now to your question – do it now or wait. Depends on whether you’re planning to run a HoT build or one of the PoF builds. Personally, I’d say take the time between now and the expac release to stack up mats and see which way to want to jump after the release. If you’re willing to stat swap you existing ascended armor, go ahead and do that – and continue to stack the mats since you may want to change it again soon.

BTW – I main a warrior in exotic berserker armor with an ascended marauder’s GS, berserker exotic mace/shield (or axe/mace depending on the day), and as of a day or two ago, marauder’s trinkets. And do just fine in HoT and LWS3…though my power marauder reaper has an easier time with champs.

All other season 3 rings can only be changed or reset when you infuse or attune them in the mystic forge.

Try running the launcher WITHOUT command line options. It is entirely possible that your public IP address has changed and as such, the launcher is actually waiting for you to enter an authorization code because arenanet doesn’t recognize the IP. Happens all the time when I login from a hotel on trips.

Second thing is to give GW2 Launch Buddy a try. It gives you a GUI to select any and all of the command line switches, and it will let you save logins so it will auto log you in. And it will check/repair your client and make sure you’re using the latest one. Not to mention, letting you login to more than one account simultaneously.

I don’t remember which level it is that you gain weapon swapping on warrior – may 6 or 7? But you can have 2 sets of weapons equipped and the weapon swap key swaps between those two sets, not weapons in your inventory. Normally I run greatsword for one set and the other set to either mace/shield or axe/mace. Of course, being a berserker, I tend to camp great sword unless I need the CCs from mace and shield.

Warrior can be fun and challenging, so I encourage you to stick with it. Also, don’t be afraid to try things that aren’t meta builds. For example, power reaper is considered one of the lower DPS power builds around. But I have a ton of fun on it and can solo a bunch of stuff that my berserker warrior struggles with, flat just can’t handle.

Hop on HP train in HoT and do all the HPs. You should end up with enough left over after unlocking your HoT elite spec that you can unlock the new spec. I’ve map completed all 4 HoT maps and I’m not sure if it’s 250 or 350 HPs that I’ve got left over on the one toon that has core map completion too. I know my other toons have ball-park 250 HPs left over.

Biggest issue? The story. I AM the pact commander, slayer of 2 elder dragons, defender of the crown, Anise’s right hand, etc., etc., etc. Plus guild leader of Dragon’s Watch. Why am I Johnny-come-lately to an envoy to Elona that’s being led by Kasmeer? Even if Kas is the real negotiator, I should be the titular Envoy – she should be behind me and arrive with me. Not greet me when I finally deign to show up. After arriving, she can stay behind to do politics while I go out and kill things – just like a real hero would.

Appreciate the storage management with unidentified gear, but the cost to ID because of the rare/exotic issue is a problem.

First, on the complaints about the raptor’s movement feeling sluggish and not instant like the player’s character: Folks, YOU aren’t controlling the raptor. YOU are controlling your player character, and YOUR PC is controlling the raptor. So, yeah, there is a delay, it’s a function of reaction time and resistance to external inputs (your commands). Do you think a horse turns on a dime exactly like you do when you’re riding one? Not likely. And sometimes a horse will give you the proverbial middle finger regardless of what you do. So, IMO, the mount movement is correct.

My biggest complaint? I am the COMMANDER. I am the slayer of Zhaitan and Mordremoth. I am the chosen guardian of Aurene. I defended the Queen of Kryta during the assasination attempt. I faced down Balthazar, god of fire and war, not once but TWICE. Even in the presence of a 3rd elder dragon, Primordus, I spit in a god’s face. I am the leader of Dragon’s Watch……..WHY, in the name of the six, am I not leading the expedition into Elona and the Crystal Desert? WHY am I being met by MY guild members when I arrive in an area that has been cutoff from us for the last 250 years, instead of having those guild members at my back? Kasmeer Meade should have been behind me as the gates of Ammoon were opened to greet the Envoy of Kryta. Even if Kasmeer was appointed to be the actual negotiator for the Queen, I should have been leading the mission. THAT is how the story should have started. Instead, I show up on their doorstep as nothing more than a common mercenary that just happens to know a couple of people with diplomatic credentials.

Personally, I think the bag slot is a waste. The SHARED inventory slots are very useful, especially with unlimited harvesting tools and HoT map keys.

DO NOT waste gems on the crafting licenses – you’re limited to 2 crafting disciplines per character and you have at least 5 character slots. That’s 10 possible crafting disciplines when there are only 9 in the game (if you include scribing).

Few thoughts on going from core Tyria into HoT:
0. HoT maps are really intended to be group content, so events lead up to a map-wide meta event. Some things can be solo’ed, many things can’t – much more so than core Tyria. Even some of the Hero Points cannot be solo’ed. Don’t be afraid to ask for help in map chat.
1. Learn what hard and soft CC’s are, and which ones are available to your classes. Just type CC in the search on the wiki and read that article, follow it up with the one on “Defiance Bar”. CC’s are effectively mandatory in HoT compared to core Tyria.
2. Masteries: everyone will have differing opinions, but I suggest training Gliding 1 and 2, followed by Itzel Lore 1 (bouncing mushrooms), followed by Nuhoch Wallows as soon as you can. Gliding and Itzel can be unlocked in Verdant Brink, Nuhoch requires getting to Tangled Depths.
3. When you start looking at getting ascended gear: Weapons before Armor. And if you have any of the Living World Season 3 Episodes unlocked, do trinkets and rings before back items or amulets. Also…with stat swapping on ascended gear, it can be cheaper to craft something with stats you don’t want and then stat swap in the mystic forge than to craft it with the stats you want from the start.

A single berry farm run in Bitterfrost Frontier should net you between 50 an 65 berries. Consuming those should net you 1300 to 1500 unbound magic. Figure one run per level 80 toon per day. You can get more berries from the nighttime fights, as well.

Talking with a mesmer doing ports in LA last night, he has the unbreakable unbound magic gathering tools and said he average 5000 unbound magic a day from his farming with them.

1. HoT and Season 3 mobs hit much harder than central Tyria. MUCH harder.
2. Breaking defiance bars is MUCH more important in HoT and Season 3 (and presumably PoF). Learn your CCs – both hard and soft. I can’t stress that enough, learn your CCs and only pop them with the break bar isn’t broken.
3. HoT maps are built around events leading up to a map meta event. Some of the “side” events are soloable, but the maps are built around groups doing the content. Many of the events, and especially the meta, are not soloable.
4. HoT Masteries: Many will probably disagree with me, but this is the order I would work on masteries. Unlock gliding 1 and 2 – gliding and updrafts, respectively. Then unlock Itzel Lore 1 – bouncing mushrooms. My priority after that would be working on Nuhoch Lore 1 and 2 to unlock Nuhoch Wallows. IMO, those are the priority masteries to work on.

Right now slots 8 &9 have asura mesmers that I have parked at the potato farm in Metrica – I get a steady supply of taters and green logs from those 2.

A note about Dragon Stand: if you stick to the side of paths and keep a careful watch, you can run around much of the map on a dead map without continuously getting into fights. You can’t get into Dragon’s Domain or the 3 blighting towers, but you can get every other POI, HP, Vista, and Mastery Point (like the 5 airship chests) on the map. Oh, and 8 to 10 noxious pods too. I normally make the run on my power reaper and normally don’t even bother popping my healing minion. Occasionally I’ll run into a cantankerous smokescale, but that’s about it. Point is – the modremoth mobs patrolling the lanes tend to be rather short-sighted.

As for the OP: HoT map HPs are 10 points, core tyria HPs are 1 point. You’re best bet is to hit the LFG and look for a HP Train.

Good stuff, thank you! Couple more questions xD

3. I think I have couple one I got with Laurels, are those the same? Can I swap on those too? I have with berserker stats, but I wish I could make them Viper now.

4. I got one from drop yesterday, but the stats were crap, healing, toughness… something. So I can switch that?

5. Oh, I didn’t know that. Will start soon enough.

Per https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stat_changing stat swapping on ascended in the mystic forge is possible with only ascended weapons and ascended armor. Rings, trinkets, back items, and amulets aren’t. With a couple of exceptions: 1. Bloodstone Fen items can be stat changed with a bloodstone capacitor that the vendor sells for something like 100 unbound magic. The items from the other maps – last I heard – don’t have this feature. 2. When infusing or attuning the season 3 rings, you can select different stats, and it works on all of the season 3 rings.

[Suggestions] Quality of Life Changes

Kaltyn of Torbins Deep.2946

Returning player here.

Every time I return to GW2 after a year or so of not playing, I almost immediately get turned away again by the way new content is being delivered to me. I’m talking about the Living World. Why must I be punished to pay 200gems for each part of the story I missed? If I don’t play often, I obviously don’t have enough gold to turn into gems and I’m definitely not excited to open my wallet as soon as I log in just to enjoy playing in a new map. I already pay for expansions like HoT and now planning on purchasing PoF as well. Selling expansions and cosmetics is one thing, but selling Living World story which should technically be a part of the base game is in my opinion unnecessary greed and is turning away both new and returning players.

I would strongly suggest you remove the punishment fee and make Living Story free to those who missed the update. It was free in the first place anyway. This is not a Free to Play game where you need to bring in revenue from every possible source. Please seriously consider doing this. Advertise this change and I’m sure many players will return, my friends among them.

Sorry to break it to you, but, yes, GW2 is free to play. Yeah, you have to buy Heart of Thorns if you want that expansion, but you don’t have to buy HoT if you just want to play the base game. As for Living World…all you had to do was log in ONE time while each episode was live to unlock it for free – even if you were using a free to play account. You had 2 months to login once. You didn’t, so you missed your opportunity. That was your choice.

Note: I came to the game around 19 months ago. I had to buy Season 2. I made sure that I logged in frequently enough to get all 6 Season 3 episodes for free.

I love the sound of these changes, really good job and I agree it’s perfect timing to get this out of the way well before the expansion pack lands. It was very much needed and hopefully will mean class balance will be easier across game modes.

I’m a little confused why some people are saying vipers worth is being lowered, did I miss something in the OP about stat totals for HoT gear or is this just referencing a general “condi is dead now” thing?

Though in fairness, after reading this whole thread the only question I really care about getting an answer to is, what wiggling is associated with seaweed salad?

Seaweed Salad gives “5% damage while moving”. So users of seaweed salad have to keep moving to maintain the extra 5% damage. This has resulted is users constantly strafing left and right – hence the “seaweed salad wiggle”.

I have 9 level 80’s across 2 accounts, none of them wearing any ascended armor, many are still running with exotic weapons. I’ve completed everything except for the last fight in LWS2 and LWS3 (mainly because I’ve been waiting to coordinate game time with my brother so we can do them together). I do have a few exotic weapons – I’ve crafted some of them, and some are from the elite specialization collections. What I’m trying to say is, you’re basically fine as you are, just have fun.

Having said that, here’s what I’d do in your shoes:
1. Story completion on at least one character. You know the story and it’s basically a free mastery point for each episode/chapter. Who doesn’t want mastery points? Including all the season 3 episodes you have unlocked. Again, mastery points and experience facing tougher mobs.
2. Harvest everything. Ascended gear takes quite a bit of resources – unless you get a drop.
3. LWS3 Maps offer ascended rings, back pieces, amulets, and trinkets for map currencies. Get a full set of trinkets – they’re stat selectable.
4. Craft ascended weapons BEFORE ascended armor.
5. Ascended armor can be stat swapped in the mystic forge, so, if money or mats are not an issue, you can make them now and swap stats in the future IF you find that you need to. Keep in mind that part of the materials for ascended is time gated so that you can only make one per day. START making those now – Spool of Thick Elonian Cord, Spool of Silk Weaving Thread, Lump of Mithrillium, and Glob of Elder Spirit Residue.

ah thank you guys, will do! i definitely need to get the mastery points, i was assuming hot content was a prereq for the new pof content incoming… glad that isnt the case.

There is an easy way to track down mastery points – works in core tyria too. Create an account on gw2efficiency.com, plug your API key into that account (instructions are available there), go to the Account section, then to Achievements. Click on the link to only show mastery points. Then start datamining all the things you can do to earn your mastery points. Combine that with help from dulfy.net to find some of those items (like the chests ) and you’re golden. Plus you’ll find tons of things to do just for regular achievement points. I’ve been playing for ~19 months and when I got bored, I started looking at things I could do for achievement points and wound up finding tons of things to keep me busy – and get me back into playing the game instead of just farming mats for the guild hall.

There’s lots of these returning player topics on the board, and rather than start another one, I just thought I’d hop on this one.

I’m also back after a long layoff (stopped playing shortly after HoT), and I’m just curious about the best way to start up the game again.

I have all the jobs at 80, but I’ve completely forgotten how to play them. What would you recommend doing to get the feel and relearn the game again?

Should I just pick one class and focus on that, or just bounce around a bit?

Which one did you like the best? Or which one was your first one? Check your gear and build and go play. I’d suggest running around a couple of the core Tyria maps to get back in the groove and go from their. Not 100% map complete on one of them? Pick that one and do map completion. Then rotate back through all of them and see what you like and want to run. Good luck and have fun. NOW GET OUT THERE AND KILL SOMETHING!

I think all it meant was that usually when they act out this scene Anise pretends to be Shadow and has to run away to warn the rest of the Shining Blade and Livia gets to be Kiera and do the dramatic death scene.

This time Anise wanted the ‘fun’ part and gave the fairly dull task of running off ‘stage’ to Livia for a change.

Yes, but why? This is the only time we’re going to see this. What does it matter to Anise that she doesn’t play the part of Shadow? That’s the point. If had been any other person than “the Commander” Anise would have run off as Shadow. But she didn’t. Because it was me…er…you…us, whatever.

The irony of a Charr god…. I wouldn’t put it past their writers.

First Eir. Then Trahearne. Then Logan (though he’s not dead…). Still not sure about Zojja. And now Rytlock. Leaving me with Whiny Posterior-hurt (aka Braham), Miss Hiccup, Deus Ex Taimi, and I-got-a-bomb-dropped-on-me (aka Marjory). Great. At least Rox still has my back. Right, Rox. Rox? Rox?

Confuse about armor sets

Wow that made so much sense I wonder why nobody could explain this to me in game. This means that I have a full set of berserker gear since I focused on power, precision, and ferocity stats with power being the primary highest of the 3.

Thanks a lot for helping a noob!

When you want to change that up, or when you start going after Ascended, switch to Marauder’s or Valkyrie’s from Berserker. Marauder’s is a small decrease in power, precision, and ferocity from Berserker’s, but the added vitality more than makes up for it with the increased hit points – and shroud health. I run full marauder’s on my power reaper and just about the only time I pop into death shroud is if I happen to be soloing two champions at the same time in bitterfrost frontier. Occasionally I get hammered by something, but less than 1% of my fighting time is spent in shroud.

If you have Heart of Thorns, hop into Verdant Brink and start working on your gliding and mushroom masteries. Also, check out gw2timer.com to see what world events and bosses are up at any given time.

Welcome back, now get out there and start killing stuff!

Worth it to come back after years?

Living World Season 1 is no longer available to play – they were events that you had to be present for. Living World Season 2 & 3 episodes are replayable. Season 3 Episode 6 is live right now and simply logging in will unlock it for free on your account – missed episodes will have to be purchased. Heart of Thorns (HoT) will have to be purchased if you want it. Path of Fire (PoF, expansion 2) comes out on September 22. Core Tyria – the core GW2 is now Free 2 play – you don’t have to buy HoT or PoF to play it.

Core Tyria, pretty much any class can solo the maps. If you want to try and solo a lot of the HoT content…Condi or Power Necro, especially with the Reaper specialization available with HoT.

The HoT maps are built around events that lead up to a map-wide meta event that requires groups to work together to complete. You don’t have to have a group or be part of a guild to do that, just hop in when you can and do the events that lead up to the big meta event at the end. Generally they’re populated enough to not have to hunt for a busy map.

HoT and Season 3 mobs hit MUCH harder than core Tyria. CCs (crowd control – ie knockbacks, stuns, etc.) are much more important – bosses have a breakbar that you really need to break to stun them so you can DPS them down.

My advice? Come back to GW2, create a necro and start killing stuff. And when you run into something that you need help with, ask for it – that’s what map chat is for!

Like Logan suddenly hopping out from the back and doing a flipflop into the energies.

It will be Rytlock doing that.

“Later, cub.”

I’m afraid you’re right.

I would pay for a charr mount. Riding one of the big cats around, riding crop and spurs equipped to keep it in line…

Awesome idea OP.

Need a REALLY big Norn mini – big enough that it is actually taller than the smallest Asura! That might actually get me to make a serious Asura toon.

Thief needs medium armor. And that’s still one of the most expensive crafting professions to level. You’re limited to 2 active crafting professions per toon. I went with Weaponsmith & Armorsmith on my Warrior, Huntsman & Leatherworker on my Ranger, Artificer & Tailor on my Elementalist, and Jeweler & Chef on my Revenant (Scribe on my Guardian, but that was much later on). Crafting is a great way to level toons, but you’re going to need some materials stored up first. When you do get around to crafting, I strongly recommend a crafting guide like gw2crafts.net to get it done the fastest and cheapest you can – also be sure to use the crafting booster available in the guild hall.

Have to say that…choice by Anise struck me as a little odd. Was it because she wanted to keep an extra close eye on us or something else? Anise’s earlier comment suggests that she’s had her eye on us for a long time, possibly from even before the start of the personal story.

Much longer than you think. She’s actually been watching you from before you ever heard about Guild Wars, probably from your birth. She knew you were destined to play the game one day and become the Commander who defeats Zhaitan and Mordremoth and saves Tyria!

Which is funny, because when I played through the personal story when I first started ~18 months ago, I remarked to my brother (who has played since GW1) that the countess was hotter than the queen…and that seemed wrong.

Hmm…today’s update is putting LS3 in the gem store already for 800 gems…I’m at work, so I can’t check to see if that means they locked down LS3 already, or parts of it, or what…

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-August-1-2017/first#post6662944

The policy has been, up to this point, that if you login while the episode is active, you unlock it. Regardless of whether you login on a f2p, core Tyria only, or a HoT account, you unlock it just by logging during that 2 (or so) month period between episode releases. I cannot for the life of me imagine why they would leave episodes 1-5 up for 2-3 months, and only leave episode 6 up for a week. It doth not make sense to suggest that.

So, yes, you’ll be fine. LWS3E6 should be considered active until the Expac drops on 9/22.

Question about the new expansion

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Kaltyn of Torbins Deep.2946

Hi all,

I started playing Guild Wars 2 during the launch of the game, but then I stopped playing it and I missed Heart of thorns’ contents.

I searched in the official shop and the price of both expansions (base version) is 49,99€ (20,00€ Hot + 29,99€ Pof).

So my question is : “Is there a cheaper price for who owns only the base game?”

Thank you for your replies.
See ya in game and sorry for my english mistakes

My take away from what I read is that you can buy HoT for 29.99, and you can buy PoF for 29.99, or you can buy PoF + HoT for 49.99, which is a savings of about 10.00. The base game is now free, so, effectively, everyone owns the base game – even if they’ve never played GW2 before.

GL Anet with Expansion

I am more exited, but to be fair Hot did not do it for me at all. I did not bother buying it, and I do hope this expansion is more like the original game. Surprise me Anet, my CC is ready

Oh and please do not make me have to play Hot, please please.

If you didn’t buy it, then how do you know “HoT did not do it” for you?

While I will agree that there are valid things to complain about in HoT, and LWS3 for that matter, I still spend more time in the four HoT maps than the others. HoT forced me to become a better player on ALL of my toons, not just my main. Because of HoT, I’m more likely to pop my commander tag and run stuff, instead of just using it for guild stuff. HoT added a lot to the game. I’ll admit, it was a huge shock going from easy maps like Frostgorge or Malchor’s Leap to VB, AB, TD, and DS, but it was a good shock. It made me get better so that I can run a full glass berserker PS warrior wherever, and whenever I want. Core Tyria didn’t do that.

YMMV
