You can’t have one character parked at the event where that’s all it does, otherwise diminishing returns (DR) kicks in after 2-3 successive kills. It doesn’t matter if you akitten between or are logged out. You must do other events on that character to shake off DR. If you’re using alts to farm world bosses, alternate them between at least two events in separate zones (i.e. outside of Sparkfly Fen) to avoid having DR kick in.
This shouldn’t affect the daily bonus rare chest though, so that for sure is a bug that needs to be looked at.
When you clicked on the PvP option, it sent it to your PvP locker in the Heart of the Mists, for use only in PvP. To get there you click on the crossed swords icon on the top left and click the button to travel there.
Since you don’t want it for PvP, I suggest you send in a support ticket. They should be able to rectify the issue. For future reference, ask around and/or check the wiki before just guessing to make things work. It saves you the annoyance and delay to use the item
Any bags that have an inherent sorting feature will not compact. The masterwork fractal bag automatically moves greens into it until it’s full, so it won’t compact. Same goes with your craftsman, oiled and invisible bags. The first 3 bags should compact properly though if they’re really just plain ones.
The whole reason I started looking to third party options in the first place is because there is no in-game option to rebind mouse click to the wheel, that was the first thing I looked for.
Then try finding a third party option to give you that mousewheel→click keybind. Don’t blatantly break the rules with one keypress equaling 250 and risk your account. Then again, lets just say some “people” I know have used these types of auto-clickers numerous times in the past to use up stacks of karma consumables and are still playing today without even getting a warning…
The gifts that we need to craft within crafting professions has to be upgraded from 400 to 500 in order to keep in line with the ascended weapons and the same stats. Lowering also the legendaries supplies and increasing their price and rarity.
Anet can’t upgrade legendaries skins without keeping the crafting gifts required in line with the new tier system.
Best part Anet, it requires to modify only one line of coding per gift to make the change. there are 3 days left before the update implementation : you have very enough time to do it : it’s all about balance and keep in line the legendaries with the ascended stats upgrade.

Yeah, gifts that take T6 mats (crafting level 350-400) should require 500 crafting. That makes perfect sense with balance!
Sarcasm aside, your post is way off the mark. If new legendaries take in these materials that require level 450-500 to make, then it’d make sense. Considering how the system is in place atm and what materials are used as components, 400 crafting is fair and all that should be necessary.
Also realize there’s a countdown timer until the next reset when you look at the monthlies in your hero panel. Once it’s a few days away it’s easy to see exactly how much time you have left.
If the attitude in your post here is the same as in your submitted support tickets, I’d ignore you too. Glad I’m not in the customer service industry where people have to deal with this on a daily basis…
For future reference, be nice/respectful in your support tickets and you will almost always receive a helpful response. I’ve submitted maybe 5-ish tickets to them and all have been dealt with quickly, with me only having to deal with the initial automated response. Probably because I skipped all the QQ and got straight to the point.
Considering this thread isn’t an actual bug report, deleting it would simply be following the rules they set up for this sub-forum. It doesn’t prove you wrong or right.
It’s like when you buy a TV, and a few months later a newer version of that TV comes out. It doesn’t make your TV useless, it still does all the things it did when you bought it. The idea that you NEED to have it is completely in your mind. Same goes for Ascended gear. If you want it, then you will put the time and energy required to get it because that’s what video games are. If not, then you won’t.

Except that change was subsidized where the fancy new signal converter box (which is all you needed) was $40.00 for a cheap one and the subsidy you could request was $39.99 (iirc). This has nothing to do with the topic at hand.
Again, exotics aren’t going to be useless. I’m not even going to bother with ascended on my alts simply because they can all already do any content they please with minimal effort. My main will be getting ascended just because I do fractals with it. If I didn’t do fractals, I really couldn’t care less about the change.
The only time 4 people can take down the captain faster than the giant zerg is when you’re ignoring most of the adds (or it bugs where they don’t spawn), and missing out on that loot. The zerg may take longer since they’re farming the vets and champs that spawn, but even then all the AoE spam tends to bring the captain down really quick. Zerg=loot.
Granted, it was really fun to duo 3 champ twisted nightmares one after the next at the same event with a random guy. Luckily we both believed in teamwork and spread the heals/buffs/revives without hesitation. Wasn’t the greatest 10 minutes of loot though :P
There are two culling-style options. Character quality and limit. It seems you at least have quality on low/lowest, which in my experience does little to help in comparison to the character limit setting.
Leaving the limit on high and quality on well… anything, I had worse performance than before the change. Inverting those settings gave me quite smooth gameplay in LA (Quality: Med/High, Limit: Low/Lowest). Give that a shot. If they’re both already on low/lowest, maybe send in a support ticket to see if they can give you more detailed 1-on-1 assistance because that doesn’t seem to be a widespread issue from what I’ve heard :/
Unlike most AoEs, it doesn’t tick damage to the whole area each second or so. The area highlighted by the casting is the area where individual meteors will fall. Each meteor has it’s own small damage radius.
Also note that canceling the cast mid-way will reduce the amount of meteors that fall.
It’s rare that an enemy in within the radius for the whole duration will not get hit, but it can happen, especially if they’re moving and/or you cut off the cast mid-way.

I’m running into this problem too, although it seems more prevalent in certain zones. I got hit with it almost constantly in Lornar’s Pass and Sparkfly Fen, but never in Fireheart Rise… I sent in a bug report ingame, but considering it’s easy to work around (by using rush/dodge/evade skills) I doubt it’s high on their priority list.

You’re talking to another holographic Vorpp (spawned by someone else I’d guess). The real one is NW of your position by his portal thingy, which may or may not be active. There will probably be a good chunk of people standing near him as he opens the portal to get into Scarlet’s dungeon.
Put the character model quality setting to something you deem acceptable, probably med+, and lower the character model limit (how many people will appear) until the game runs good enough to your liking.
The default for mine threw them both on high if I recall, and it made LA almost unplayable. Mess around with these settings until you find a sweet spot. I run character model limit on lowest since I don’t care to see a billion people stacked on a boss, yet run the quality on high so those that do appear look as they should.

The WvW client-side character quality limits are now shared in PvE. Your framerate will take the biggest hit as it shows more people (at least on my end), so you should be able to set char quality higher and keep the player limit on low/lowest and retain smooth gameplay.
Not a bug. Any bag that does sorting for you (like the fractal bags) will not be affected by compacting. It’s intentional as far as I know.
The second achievement chest you receive is the 500AP one, not the 1000AP one. That second chest is another “Achievement Chest” instead of a “Large Achievement Chest”. For a list of the chests, look here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement_rewards
Open your hero panel, go to achievements, and look at the top of that menu. The chests shown there are those in queue for you to receive, and further along, those you don’t qualify for yet. Is the 1000AP (large) chest shown there? It should be as it’s the third chest you should receive.
Just finished the JP and I can confirm this. Luckily I remembered how many badges I had before (163), so I was able to notice it didn’t yield any. I’m going to run a BL JP and see if those also have the same issue and update this post.
Edit: Borderland jump puzzles are also experiencing this issue. Other rewards appear normal, just badges missing.

Instead of risking mailing between people, put up a buy offer on a legendary or some other expensive item and then withdraw the offer. Safer than playing the trust game, unless it’s good family ofc.
I already have the golden achievement, so I don’t know if it currently works as intended when you break 200g.
If you’re camping the event on a single character between server resets, diminishing returns stops you from getting the chest. If you’re camping world boss events between multiple characters, make sure they’re at least hopping between two different ones and not completing the same one twice in a row.
Otherwise you’re probably doing it more than once between server resets (when daily achievements reset), so you only get the chest for the first one. The boss chest is limited to one per char per day, the bonus chest is one per account per day.
There was a thread in the past that discussed this, and the verdict delivered by Gaile was that what you’re suggesting is against the rules. The official rules are located here.
The key term is this one:
“This means that if you program a macro, it must require one keystroke per action. You may not program a single key to perform multiple functions.”
One keystroke performing the same function multiple times is the same as one keystroke performing multiple functions, and therefore against the rules.
I don’t have a warrior so I’m a little unsure about WvW/PvP but they’re supposedly not too good there. Warriors reign supreme in PvE so if that’s what you mostly do, stick to the warrior.
Eles are kinda average all around, some will argue they’re over/underpowered, but the elementalists’ capabilities are much more dependent on player skill than warriors since they have a much higher skill cap.
If you’re out to have fun, not just goldfarm and throw huge numbers out, I’d recommend going with the elementalist as they seem to be much more fun/challenging to use. If you’re in it for the cash and facerolling content go with the warrior. Take all I’ve said with a grain of salt since after all, it’s one person’s opinion :P

Run dungeons & fractals. Explore the world. Do some WvW or PvP. Chase down the world bosses that give the bonus daily chest. Get the fancy-looking gear set you’ve always wanted.
Those are the basics, there are probably other things I’m missing, but there really is plenty to do. If your goal was to hit 80 as fast as you could, you missed a lot of good stuff along the way.
Let’s get back on topic, shall we?
I think this is more how the game is setup than a bug specifically with stealth. When a skill is blocked, it’s effectively the same as if it misses. You can see this in that when you block a skill when out of combat, you remain out of combat. As a thief in stealth, when you miss an attack it doesn’t reveal you, so by how the game seems to function this would be normal as well for blocked attacks.
I don’t know whether or not this is something that should be changed, but (dare I say) it seems to be functioning “as intended”. And just for the record, I’m no fan of thieves either.
Tell your friend to empty his mailbox. There’s a cap where you can only have 10 mails at a time, and any more get thrown in a queue until there’s room.
It may be intentional, as you would only have to do the JP once for they keys, and then just “tag” the other two for credit. If you use the keys on the chest, you should get credit (I did those for the monthly without issues).

You are putting out high damage and have little to no armor, what would you do if you were the Boss? I know I would wipe you first. Gear up the right way and have some fun.
I’m an elementalist who used to stack full toughness with all knight’s gear, ascended jewelry and all. Guess what? I hold the aggro most of the time, even when kiting and using heals/dodges much more than throwing damage. I swap to full zerker, still holding the aggro most of the time. Hybrid knights/zerker, still holding the aggro most of the time. Defensive traits run in all cases (0/0/20/20/30).
Unless I’m an amazing player who can throw out more damage with a staff than zerk warriors/rangers/mesmers while kiting and healing, there’s something fishy going on here.
I’ve gotten used to the aggro situation though. I must admit it’s the reason I’ve learned the mechanics practically every foe in the game. Knowing your enemy helps a lot.
Top WvW servers also tend to have active PvE communities. Aside from your first choice, TC, Jade Quarry is also an active PvE server. I’m on JQ and I’m rarely alone even in the mid-level zones that are often deserted on other servers. I’ve heard SoR is also good for PvE, but I haven’t personally guested there.
Go to the top left, hover over EU worlds or US worlds depending on your server’s region. Pick your server. The map is redundant if you know where the events are, as the gray circles just go yellow when an event is active.
Most important info is on the right side. Timers counting down in grey text indicate the time until an event/boss enters it’s activation/spawn window. Timers counting up indicate the time since the event was last active.
Events in dark boxes are inactive, those in yellow boxes are currently active. Read the event description/timer to see what phase the event is in, as many have pre-events that are shown.
Once you learn where all the bosses are (or just those you care to do), I recommend you move to using the overlay (link to download on the top right). It’s a clean way of seeing all the event statuses ingame without having to constantly alt+tab to check the site.
I’d suggest we just put toughness/armor much lower on the list of things that draw aggro. It’s ridiculous that when I’m kiting on my elementalist burning skills mostly in water/earth for heals and CC, I’m the one holding the boss’s aggro when everyone else is standing still throwing massive DPS at it’s face. I’m almost positive it’s because I’m running almost all knight’s gear because when I swap to my berzerker set I’m seeing much less aggro on me, especially if there’s a heavy class in the party.
In my opinion, aggro should be determined in this order: Damage>Range>Armor/Toughness>Shields
Did you re-visit the Chantry of Secrets as I mentioned in my last post? Otherwise send in a support ticket. They should be able to solve the problem as there really aren’t any other workarounds (that I know of at least).

For actual changes, look in the Game Release Notes forum section and just read the first post of the threads new to you. The following posts are usually just minor bugfixes that came soon thereafter.
Oak needs to be clear and the monastery as well. I haven’t seen the oak get bugged before on my server, but if it did somehow in its startup SB can’t start. Wait for the next patch which resets all the events on the server or guest to a server where it isn’t bugged atm.
This is one of many events that get bugged (Melandru, Eye of Zhaitan, delayed Shatterer, etc), so it’s best to get used to just working around it for now since they don’t seem too focused on bugs that aren’t affecting most/all servers simultaneously :/
No, because they have a teleport skill, not a transform (like) skill granting you the ability to move. Teleport skills work while immobilized. Not sure if that was a serious question…
Plus, that skill is more useless than vapor form. At least with vapor form if you’re lucky enough to not get immobilized, you can get back into a keep/tower safely. No other class can do that :P
Edit: Urp, confused the two. Fixed Mist Form → Vapor Form. At least we know what we’re talking about lol.
We can pretty much only speculate at this point, but I’m suspecting they’ll allow you to pick any stat combo (or a limited set) for your mf gear to change to, as they’re going to be putting in that system for legendaries anyways.
Who knows when that’s coming out… If you want celestial gear now then make it.
This. It seems many people expect the changes in the blogpost to come soon, but I doubt it. These were goals set for the end of 2013, and we’ve got a long ways to go. I’m holding the view it’s worth the risk to make celestial gear now, and am almost done making it for my elementalist. Plus, you never know if you’ll find it to be sub-par compared to other sets. I’d rather waste celestial-specific materials on an exotic set than time-gated ascended materials on a potentially bad set :/

Just try to give them all the information you can on the affected systems (as you pretty much have in this thread) and hope for the best. Link this thread in the ticket so that they might post a solution here as well if they do have/find a fix. Keep in mind that since not too many people seem to be experiencing this (whether because they don’t double-click or it just doesn’t affect their computers as it does yours) it may take a while for them to resolve it, if at all.
In the meantime, try training yourself to use Alt+Tab to swap programs rather than the taskbar. It’s obviously not a fix, but it might help limit the times you accidentally double-click it if you force a new habit. Also consider running fullscreen-windowed mode if you aren’t. At least on my comp, the game minimizes/restores more smoothly since I changed to that setting to run the gw2stuff overlay.

Fair enough, CPU shouldn’t be the issue load-wise. Does this happen when you’ve been playing for a while, or anytime at all? Maybe it’s a cooling issue? Use something like CoreTemp/CPU-Z and GPU-Z to check your temps. Have you sent in a support ticket with the specs of the two (or more) computers you’ve had this issue with? They may not be great, but some support staff just might have an insight that can help solve this problem if it’s not purely on their end.
Sorry for the barrage of questions, but I’m just trying to guess at what the problem might be, no malice intended…

@Mastare: Go to the Chantry of Secrets again. That used to fix your problem a long time ago when it was more widespread. If that doesn’t work, send in a support ticket. Also note that the Gifts of Exploration are not in mail, but instead awarded in chest form like the daily/monthly achievement reward chests.
@ExtraXtreme: Living story updates tend to add new POIs. Double check your maps, especially Divinity’s Reach since it doesn’t show completion when moused over in the world map. Are you sure you don’t have the title? Once you reach 100% the first time, you should have all those rewards permanently.
Excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean by “landscape content”? Open world exploring, WvW, world bosses, dungeons/fractals or something else?
For general PvE, world bosses are usually run right after the daily reset (midnight UTC, 8PM EST). Jade Quarry (my server) and Tarnished Coast are great for doing anything PvE related as they have large PvE populations. Since most people at this point run world bosses, dungeons/fractals, etc., finding groups for open world exploration and such would probably be best within a guild. Find one if you don’t have one
You’ve been immobilized, that’s all. Mist form doesn’t cure conditions, and lots of people just spam immobilize on elementalists that go down so they can’t get away after activating Mist Form. Inconvenient for us, but it’s fair.
