Skullcrack is always going to be my fav build

What about Furious Reaction and Signet Mastery with SoR for more Fury uptime combined with Intelligence and then Soldier’s Ammy

I feel that alternative is a lot more tanky without sacrificing too much damage – Still getting around 9k hundred blades after skull crack

Also does paralyzation sigil actually give you one more second on skull crack?

There is a reason the amulets come with a set amount of stats – BALANCE

3k armor 2k power 25k hp etc is NOT balanced and does not belong in competitive PvP

Chances that you actually play thief is very close to 0%
Chances that you are a new player who constantly rages because thieves own you on a daily basis is very close to 100%

i have to agree with a lot of you, especially with the one who commented on my panic stealths. i often have off days but sometimes i have those “in the zone” moments like in this video (the last fight where my 1v4 turns into a 2v4)

and narkodx, i run signet because i solo stomp camps and moving from camp to camp faster is always a good thing. i actually use scorpion wire when im more in a combative mood.

(nother edit) that first video really doesn’t show off anything special :P and all your guy’s speculations are definately justified. i get sloppy often after roaming all day

That second video doesn’t help your case. In the necro fight alone you miss 4 CnDs. Not from them being smart or dodging, you just kind of miss them. Then you let arguably the slowest class in game get a ton of distance on you before finally taking them down. The end fight showcases once again the build’s strength of killing terrible players.

You have a lb ranger who in all likelihood was using his face on the keyboard, never even getting off a rapid fire or more than 1 or 2 autoattacks before going down (in a span of 30s+). There is a staff ele who is auto attacking in fire the entire time, instead of just throwing on aoes on it’s allies. People didn’t start dropping until the medi guard came in as well, so its hard to claim that was a result of you playing well.

I personally believe the game mode will thrive and do very well

PvE players will eat it up as they can be epic by controlling/protecting NPCs and raiding towers

WvW players will also come on over and it will take over GvG

Besides, what is the point of being skeptical and claiming it is going to be as kittenkyhammer (nothing can be that bad)

Bottom Line – PvP is as stale as 3 year old bread right now, it could frankly be a piece of crap game mode and it will still revitalize the game but it won’t be

Yeah, unfortunately ANet really removed any way to debate that it is a bad idea. They demolished its scaling, lowered its base healing IIRC, and then halved the time that it would exist as a field.

Did Anet ever offer any explanation for this?

It doesn’t transfer the fear because you break the fear on activating the signet because it is a stun break – the fear is gone so you can not transfer it

It’s that simple not sure why you guys are writing multiple paragraphs and walls of text

The only way to “fix” this is to make the transfer happen before the stun break which defeats the purpose of a stun break as it is meant to be instant cast

If you do not use the Longbow with its superior cleansing and AoE damage how the heck you think you’re gona kill turrets – USE THE BOW

The Warrior is not a melee class there are no melee classes everyone has ranged and melee weapons

Half the longbow skills are best used in melee/medium range it is not a long range weapon – Fan of Fire for example is best used at point blank melee range

Try Hambow or Shoutbow don’t try and reinvent the wheel especially since you are new

I’ve been a thief since I started playing gw2 . it’s been a couple years but I STILL only have 1 lvl 80 character, haven’t completed the story at all, aaaaaaand hardly have done any map completion ^^; embarrassing yes but I love wvw and spvp

The ranger never gets the stun, that’s why they aren’t interrupted.
It is working as intended. You have to become stunned or disabled, before the trait kicks in, it will not work as an “immunity”, in the sense that the first stun will not interrupt etc.

I agree with this line of thought in theory, but it does not explain why other skills are not interrupted from the criteria that activates Last Stand as well.

It works like Reapers Protection – the actual CC must take place for the desired effect

It does not reflect or negate the first CC like the Ranger trait

Well, tbh, i knew that there is no best thing. I was looking for a general build. The main problem is that i can’t experiment myself since i play with 28 FPS, graphics set at lowest. In order for me to be able to experiment in wvw i basically need to get a good graph card 1st. Just out of general curiosity though, but do you go panic strike, 2/6/0/0/6, 2/6/6/0/0 or 0/6/6/2/0?

Well you can experiment in PvP where the cost of runes/gear is nothing

You might also get better FPS in PvP without all the blobs and stuff

Builds with 6 in Shadow Arts are for WvW where you do not need to hold capture points and be hindered by stealth

PvP builds will mostly revolve around trickery due to superior utility

My fav build utilizes both 2/0/6/0/6

I roam with thief in WvW almost daily

The only way to kill Thief using stealth heavy build is through burst either conditions or power – you must play VERY aggressively – if you do not land a hard CC combo or 10k damage burst I will simply drain that LF and continuously stealth until i get an opening

You gotta land the fear and 2 LB for 10+k instant damage then use DS#4

For condis you gotta land an interrupt procing confusion and wait till after shadow step to attempt a fear chain with staff and ds fear

Very uphill battle for a Necro it is too easy to create space and stall as a Thief in WvW

Well you want an answer that doesn’t exist… the bottom line is everything you said works

D/D or D/P or S/D are fine in WvW I like D/P

All of those runes are fine as well it depends on your playstyle I go for Strength Runes

All of those foods are viable as well since I use Strength Runes I like the might food

You want someone to give you a specific build that is the best? That’s impossible you will have to figure out which is best FOR YOU

Zerk/Cav/Valk are all viable options most people mix and match to find that balance that works for them

Try experimenting do not look for anyone to tell you what is best that is subjective

Ascended Armor is nothing more than a grind fest for a few more stats the armor that you gain is almost insignificant – maybe the infusions but meh

The weapons especially in POWER builds makes a noticeable difference but nothing too big but I would definitely go for the weapons first especially if you run a zerk build

Ascended Trinkets are essentially mandatory but they are easy to get

Conditions are meant to be “easy” damage and not bursty – that is intended

Guard/Ele/Warr can almost negate all condition damage with meta builds

Thief/Mes would be out of control if not for conditions

There are two reasons why turret engis are still effective and why the players in this game are simply terrible – sorry can’t put this lightly it is the sad truth

1- The inability to adapt – I want to play my build and play it my way I will not change if the enemy team is running something that I am ineffective against I would rather lose and complain on the forums

2- Attempting to fight on-point instead of using LoS – Why can players not understand that this is one of the most powerful strategies against turret engis, the AI is easily outsmarted if you use the terrain to your advantage yet I continuously see people run straight onto the point eating all the turrets damage and getting blown up

I have lost all hope for the average player in this game – simply not good enough to use either tactic – would rather make posts on forums

I can take out a turret engi with a full glass Mesmer/Ranger
Condi Necro/Engi
Most Warrior/Guardian Builds

The only class that is sort of screwed is the Thief because all of its damage is melee and its ranged pressure is very weak but a Thief should not really be attempting to 1v1 anyway especially a point that is already capped by the opponent

And this is only looking at it from the sPvP angle and leaves out the group stealth issue and the hiding-in-structures issue, both of which are more or less WvW exclusive issues.

Larcenous Strike: This skill now steals only 1 boon.
Pistol Whip: This skill has been split between PvP and PvE. It will now cost 6 initiative in PvP, while maintaining a 5 initiative cost in PvE.

While the enemy leaves base, I stealthy enter there base and go in for the kill
Order of the Whispers Special Forces, came, saw and kicked that Guild Lord butt.

All you do is stealth, backstab and steal and another backstab, down he goes! His minions didn’t even see it coming.

one rambles constantly and plays on guild server vs guildies (they farm dailies and let one team win all day) – claims he is good and stealth is op

The other one can’t take a camp in WvW solo and also claims stealth is op in a game mode that has yet to be released

and the OP just installed the game and also claims stealth is op

simply put there is a system based on your win percentage against the teams you plays rank. Im sorry but im willing to say the majority of you asking for solo que arent that good. Im also willing to say that your principles are much different then my own. Im sorry if 4 other people qued up and there good and im put in that group and we have to fight the abjured, ok bring it on. Let me have this chance, you literally have people on here complaining about fighting any pre-mades. Seriously what? You have other people trolling justin, really?

PVP is competitive, in what sport is the game completely fair? Seriously the same 4 guys win tennis every tourney, basketball has been dominated by 5 teams in the last 15 years. There is thousands of smucks playing this game and for some reason you come on here asking for a hand out when you can see they have a great system in place and is trying to get better.

Last note, no i will not wait any longer for ques. Ive lately had alot of 5+ min ques whether i solo or partially team que. If it goes back to the old days when we had solo and team ques ill do something else and at this point it might be wait for the expansion since theres nothing left for me to really do.

Playing as a minion Master?

They do not glitch and idle in place MOST of the time as in over 50% of the time – it is probably something like 20% of the time

Minions are not meant to last long – regenerating after combat is unnecessary they all have very low cool downs

Smart enemy will focus you obviously but that is why you bring control weapons like Dagger immobilize to force your minions on your target

They aren’t perfect or super strong but they are not useless

An auto attack with ONLY chill on the third hit suggests that the weapon is power control based. If it was a siphon weapon we would probably see something else on the auto or no conditions on the auto. We can already rule out conditions and range simply on the auto.

The other skills are anyones guess. But seeing as the auto attack suggests melee control then im going to say we will probably get some decent aoe burst skill on the number 2 like every classes greatsword. and then maybe some debuff attack which works in a similar way a leap would (so an immobilise as an alternative gap closer). Then for the 4 i would guess some kind of aoe field similar to guardians. Maybe a dark field, maybe an aoe blind. It would be something defensive so it could be debuff conditions or it could be a block. And then the 5 will probably a CC skill of some sort (hopefully AOE). That would be my best guess based on the hints weve had, the design of other class greatswords and along with keeping to our classes core design principles.

So in keeping with power control. Id imagine we would get mechanics and utilities which increase our debuff support and group control/utility options.

Obviously this is all speculation. I could be completely wrong. But I would be quite surprised if I was. This assumption is based on the hints we have such as common complaints and desires, the chill auto and marjorys bone walls.

Good Curses traits for Power builds:

Weakening Shroud
Reaper’s Precision
Focused Rituals
Banshee’s Wail
Spectral Attunement
Path of Corruption

The last may be better on condition builds, but it is certainly still good on Power. Regardless, that’s just under half the traits in the line that are good for Power builds. Remove the useless traits in the line (Withering Precision, Toxic Landing) and we’re doing even better.

Furious Demise and Target the Weak are also VERY GOOD – minor traits I know

You wanna duel? There is a button at the top of the screen that says PvP

The ONLY reason you want open world dueling is to pick on players who do not PvP or because you want to use your shiny PvE gear

Ive been noticing decreased effectiveness with my turret engi and bunker guards, but full zerker teams are still no good… so who are the bunkers of today? D/D ele? Shoutbow warr? Any other ideas of viable bunkers in this meta? Minionmaster seems to susceptible to aoe…Maybe some evasion bunkers like thief or ranger will hold a spot. Thoughts?

You answered your own question the point holders today are Cele D/D Ele and Cele Shout Warr

The other bunker builds do not have as much damage/utility/mobility making them inferior and less used
