What I experience a lot lately is, the water 5 skill not hitting at all, even when obviously hitting the opponent’kittenbox when directly swimming through her/him. It has been stated to be fixed, and it was inbetween, but seems to have been reintroduced recently…?

I’m quite sure this will be changed soon. It’s not like this is a secret any more. You read a lot about it recently and this will lead to someone waking up soon…

You have my full support regarding this request (even though I’m not sure that helps in any way..)

I’m one of those female Asura, who suffered from these bugs just for a few weeks, when they somehow (mistakenly) replaced the female model with the male one. I didn’t even want to look at my char anymore or make screens of it.

These issues with the male T3 armor are something I simply can’t understand for an armor that expensive – especially in a game where a big part of the end content is based on skins. The bug is known for ages now, and has never been fixed…

I don’t understand, why ANet didn’t replace the buggy male armor too, when they switched back the models for the female one… As far as I know in case of Asura there generally are no gender specific differences in armor – so I don’t understand why the T3 light Armor should be the exception.

I was also planning to play something together with other musicians, but the delay prevented it (at least in Lions Arch). There were some lags, but the main problem was also to start at the right time, because the first note needs some time to be cast, and it takes some time until you get a feeling for this cast time…

When I see how many people use the instruments for trolling in LA (preferably with the Horn’s highest note), I totally understand that there are lots of people turning these sounds off, or at least to a very low volume so they can still hear if someone is actually playing songs or just spamming.

There are even videos about it, where more than 10 people unite to get on others nerves with the method mentioned above. So this option was more than necessary and I’m glad it has been implemented. I think all people should be able to choose whether they want to hear the instruments or not. Turning all sounds off never was a fitting solution, if you like the environmental sounds or even need them in order to play properly.

When I play the flute and intend to play specific songs for others, I normally tell them in advance so I don’t see a problem there.

The only thing getting pointless here is trolling – and it’s somehow difficult for me to feel sorry for those claiming in public, that they bought these instruments solely to troll others (yes, those people actually exist).

Hello everyone.

Thank you for voicing your concerns with the flute.

Again, we apologize for your struggles with this instrument after the latest build. I would like to reconfirm that it was never our intention to negatively impact songs you’ve been previously able to play or with new performances. The scenarios described above regarding extreme difficulty playing the same note back-to-back were not reproducible in-house or reported by play testers, even those with musical talent playing popular songs discussed in many other threads.

That said, there will be a fix for the problem, one that reverts functionality to the way it was before. Additionally, by popular request, the ability to stop the currently playing note will be moved to the ‘0’ key. This fix is currently targeted for release with the next Living World update. Thank you for your patience as we address your concerns.

I’d like to add that we are committed to providing a fun experience with each of the instruments and are always open to healthy, constructive feedback.

First of all I would like to thank you (very very much) for addressing this issue and actually providing a fix so soon. I can’t wait to start recording songs again Ö.Ö

But is there any chance you could also remove the 2 minute timer on the unbreakable choir bell? I mean…why is it even there?

This would be very nice. I’ve lost my bell very often whilst trying to play new songs. When practicing, this is a bit annoying. But I guess with the last patch (fixes) and also the new patches coming up, this might take a while. I’m actually glad they have the time to address the flute issue.

And to also give some positive feedback.

I haven’t tested it thoroughly (was busy complaining/crying on the forums :P ), but what I saw from the changes to the Marriner’s Horn:
I like it. It seems to be much more responsive, just because you don’t have to take care not to overlap different notes anymore.

I also think, that this was a very quick response for the issue not being a game breaking one. I was positively surprised and it shows that they actually care.

Given the fact, that we paid money for those instruments, I really count on ANet offering a fix for this soon. I don’t want to know how many people bought the flute and became “unhappy customers” due to this newly introduced “feature” (not all of them complain in the forums).

I’m quite sure, that exactly this customer base would be lost for the next few instruments (or even for the gem store in general if annoyed enough), if ANet ignored the complaints (what they certainly didn’t do – at least feedbackwise).

I really hope that ANet will offer a fix soon. I support them with gem purchases whenever I can because I like the game a lot and I’m really planning on buying all the instruments offered in future, but I certainly won’t do that any more in case I never know what I end up with in the end for my money (like a bugged flute that worked fine when I purchased it)…

I think I’m not the only one thinking this way but I’m also quite sure ANet will offer a fix, not just for the reasons mentioned above but for the enjoyment

We’re looking into potential solutions to smooth out the responsiveness of the flute even more while also maintaining the functionality that was added in today.

Apologies for those who are having trouble playing the songs that were previously playable. However being able to add pauses (rests) to your songs and all the expressiveness that comes with that is very important. I assure you all that this was thoroughly tested, though there is always room for further improvement and refinement.

Please hang on to those instruments and continue to provide us with feedback!

But I’m also sure, noone ever tried to play a song with it (you coud let some of your musically gifted employees test these things instead of a developer randomly pressing 1-9).

I found the bug in a few seconds: Picking up the flute, start playing, and about the 7th note already caused problems. I was playing Fear Not This Night btw. -> That’s how it worked pre patch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWGomBoq6NY

Notice how often there is the same note to play several times in a row? Same goes for rapidly changing the octave playing the same note. All of this is not possible anymore!

I was disappointed when picking up the flute post patch and seing it does not work any more as it used to. I really love playing your instruments and loved the flute how it was before.

The missing possibility to cancle a note was a bit annoying but not that big a problem like not being able to play the very same note a few times in a row. In this thread, there are good suggestions on how both functionalities could be provided at the same time. Maybe it is even possible, to cancle the notes on key release (that would be really great).

However I’m really glad to know you are working on it and are waiting for the fix with anticipation

It’s nice that you tried to give people a possibility to stop a note from playing. But to do that by simply pressing the same note again wasn’t the best idea to do so. I’m not sure if those changes have been tested before going live, but I highly doubt it.

Due to that change, it is nearly impossible to play any of the songs I previously recorded. You can’t play the same note twice in a row, due to the second key press interrupting the note, and therefore the flute can be considered broken.

If it’s not possible to implement the note interruption via key release, then please at least roll back the changes. I bought the flute in order to play songs with it (what I recently did a lot) and because it doesn’t have the poor reaction time of the Marriner’s horn.

Hi everyone. I recently bought all the instruments currently available ingame and love playing those. Due to some requests I started recording some of the songs I’m playing and writing down the tabs so others in posession of those instruments can use the tabs to play them too.

I also noticed frost bow going to full CD without casting a bow for getting hit and also for dodging whilst trying to cast it. No idea if this has been introduced with the patch or was the same before and I just didn’t notice it by now…?

What you are explaining here really sounds strange. I play my elementalist since beta and couldn’t think of a way to revive myself three times in a row. There were several bugs in the past involving Mist Form and pets who allowed you to instantly rezz, but those have been fixed some time ago.

Maybe the Glyph of Renewal is even more bugged out than it was before patch? Due to the fact this skill never got fixed, I totally removed it from my utility bar months ago and only use it sometimes in earth attunement (the only one that seems to work somehow at least to rezz some NPCs). I will test the glyph again when I get home and report in case I find some changes since patch who could cause this behaviour. But I highly doubt that. It’s very likely you found a cheater or at least a bug user.

As for banning people ingame if you are not sure whether they are cheating or not:

False accusations can even lead to you getting banned (at least this information pops up everytime you open the report window), so I would be careful with that. I don’t want to know what happened to those guys repeatedly trying to get me banned for teleporting, because I used Lightning Flash during my Churning Earth cast (no idea if they really tried, but at least they said they would)… xD

Sometimes two patterns even overlap and look like a different one. I was always successful when trying all patterns from the wiki when the minidungeon was bugged.

In my case sometimes no pattern showed at all, so that was the only solution to get in.

I don’t see the problem about getting this cache. I wen’t to the JP yesterday and most of the people there also just wanted to get through this puzzle and therefore didn’t attack each other.

There were moments were I stood on the same platform with people from both other servers. In the “dark room” they even lit my way and I lit theirs whilst taking care not to hit them with the fire. Even though it’s a WvW map and meant to kill each other it doesn’t mean you have to.

Of course there will always be some who think pulling/pushing people off a cliff or whiping them with a small JP farming group is fun. Most of them died but if you don’t have enough allies to get rid of them, you can still use the wells in order to get invisible and maybe ask mesmes for their help.

It’s not like you have to go to the jumping puzzle more than once during the event.

On Elona Reach[DE] it’s the same for me (at least it was yesterday post patch, haven’t played since then).

However, it doesn’t seem to affect everyone. One of my guildies claimed, that his coffers look normal…

Yeah, noticed that too. Seems like someone forgot to change the trait number when moving it. xD

I didn’t have a closer look though, if also other merged Traits are affected.

But compared to some other bugs that have been intruduced with the patch, I guess this will count as a minor one

Same for my group. We also activated the switch on top of the jumping puzzle and went through the upper door. Kiel didn’t move an inch.

As an addition, we forgot the switch next to the cache/chest before. So we went back, activated it, and then tried again to get Kiel moving. This time she went a bit further (to the transparent energy door) but then didn’t open it…

I hope there will be a fix soon. It’s a bit frustrating wasting hours in order to find workarounds for bugs that actually shouldn’t exist.

I know from my own experience that bugs can happen and you can overlook them easily, but this one can’t be overlooked (no matter how hard you try) during a test run. It seems like the dungeon either hasn’t been tested at all, or it has heen tested but after that there was a small last minute change that affected Kiel’s willingness to move.

However, I’m giving up on that dungeon until I know it works properly.

The horn isn’t much different when the zerg is stacking up near a cliff for an ambush when you have people in your zerg setting off flashy skills to alert the enemy zerg or scouts to your position.

Yes, that’s true of course. That’s a problem you will always have – even though the skills at least give some benefit like might stacks an are very likely not cast in order to knowingly give away the position of the zerg. The horn would just be an additional option to do this.

Don’t get me wrong, I would really love to use the horn in WvW (maybe even for giving signals when scouting – like the idea).

The thing is: for each person wanting to use it for their zerg’s benefit there are 5 just using it to troll. You can see that pretty well in LA when comparing the amounts of people playing music and those just spamming the highest note available… Of course it could well be different in the “WvW community”, that’s something you can never tell in advance.

That’s why I posted about the problems that could come with the WvW fix of the horn and also some possibilities to prevent some of those. I’m curious what fix ANet is planning to implement.

I have not tried it in WvW yet, but they only complaint I have with the item is that the response time is very slow. I would like to be able to play shorter notes cleanly.

I actually opened a topic about the reaction time, but unfortunately those who complain alot about this issue ingame don’t seem to be very active in the forums, didn’t see the topic or simply didn’t bother to post about it.

Regarding the WvW issue, the fact that you are beeing rooted whilst playing the horn doesn’t prevent you from giving away your zerg’s position: e.g. when hiding under a cliff the enemy stands on top of, or when hiding behind a house in north camp, etc. -> actually (depending on strategy, builds, etc.) a zerg stands still very often close to the enemy, and if its just for buffing before surprising the enemy zerg etc.

You underestimate the creativity of a real troll when it comes to annoying people.

If the horn is fixed in WvW, it would be necessary to also implement that it’s muted for the other servers and also to be mutable for allies not wanting to hear it – maybe a checkbox option like “disable instrument sounds in WvW”.

Thx for sharing the song. I also managed to play some songs on it (Bash the Dragon, Indiana Jones, some Zelda songs, Tetris, etc. so mainly those standard songs that can be played in major…), maybe I will write some of them down too. .

Unfortunately you have to play most things quite slow… It even feels slower than the choir bells… But maybe that’s just how it feels because of the cast bar…?

There are several threads about this in the forum. I guess it is intended (just like in case of the choir bell) so you can’t (un)intentionally give away your zerg’s position and also because of trolls just trying to disturb…

I didn’t find any topics on this, so sorry if this already has been mentioned. This is more a reclamation than a bug and might be called a “first world problem”, but still I think this issue needs some attention.

Yesterday I purchased the Marriner’s Horn, in order to use it as an instrument and actually play music on it. I assumed that the handling of the instrument and especially the reaction time would be similar to the choir bell, but with a different audio behind it.

As I soon noticed, I was wrong. The cast time and transitions between the notes may sound nice, but unfortunately it prevents musicians from playing anything faster than a funeral march. There is a very high delay on the notes that causes notes to overlap and also makes it nearly impossible to play faster music or time notes correctly (tried to play triplets – resulted in pain) – especially when trying to play the same note several times in a row (triplet on single note).

From watching some youtube videos I noticed, that I’m not alone with this opinion/problem and those who didn’t buy the instrument for trolling and spamming high notes in LA would like to have some changes to the reaction time.

Is it in the slightest way possible/likely, that we might see some changes to the instrument? Because in the current state it can only be efficiently used for trolling.

It’s totally the same with the unbreakable choir bell and it’s good the way it is. They deactivated the sounds of such devices in WvW to prevent trolls from giving away the zerg’s position.

It would be cool though if allies could hear the sounds… I guess this wasn’t that easy to implement… But even if they could/wanted to implement it: There would always be trolls spamming the highest note near the zerg just to disturb the people listening to the commander in TS. And deactivating my whole ingame sound for this reason would not be an option.

I think changing the angle could do the trick… The wings are flapping upwards somehow, that’s what makes them look unnatural.

In case of my Asura – apart from the strange animation – they even clip slightly with the shoulders (my Asura has the smalkitten dy and one of the thin body types, so… don’t wanna know how the wings look on a “big, fat” one). Given that those wings are very/too small in comparison to my Asura’s body, I wonder how it is even possible to make them still clip…

It looks like the item hasn’t been adjusted to the different races and their physique – at all. I hope they will fix some of these issues.

I really liked the idea of shattered wings, and I also think the general design of them is great. But at the moment it seems to me, like those wings will only collect some dust in one of my bank slots because of the reasons mentioned in this thread…

I just watched a video with a charr and those wings… There they look great.

As you can see in the screen above, the wings seem to be off (facing to the right). That’s a problem I also experienced in the preview of my Asura. But maybe that’s only in the preview…

I also only previewed them on the first day directly after the patch. I will have a look at the wings again when I’m home.

I noticed that too… You can preview them in the mists (they are in the PvP locker somewhere at the bottom).

To me (Asura) the animation also looks off. It looks like the wings are falling apart and reorganizing again instead of flapping… It’s difficult to describe, but the term “ugly” sums it up quite well… I so hope this is a bug

I scanned the patch notes again, but it only mentions “Case Closed” as somehow “excluded”… So I guess it’s a bug that dragon ball doesn’t count.

Ahhhhh, Ok, now I understand my “lack of luck” much better. I am also an Ele and ran with the Moas, but just for watching my Motti running. I saw others spamming skills and thought they were too stupid to realize it doesn’t work… It somehow escaped my notice that I was the only one not trying to cheat. Maybe I’m old-fashioned…

I hope they’ll fix it soon. The Moa race is a very nice gold sink and works much better, if it can’t be exploited

As for the lack of poison:

I am Asura and run a condition/hybrid build on my ele. But only in PvE/WvW, because there I have access to Poison and Confusion+Retaliation (Racials Skills: Radiation Field and Pain Inverter). So that could be a solution for those wanting to run a condition build.

Canach's Lair completely bugged?

About the described behaviour regarding rewards I don’t know anything. Actually I never received a reward from the Canach solo dungeon, so I guess the reward system is bugged anyway and hopefully will be fixed.

EDIT: As a side note. I don’t know if this is meant to happen, but I have died a few times for mines going red after I turned them green almost immediately and several times in a row. (Not when he is activating them)

I only experienced that, after Canach has activated all the mines. After that phase they respawn and their glow is yellow. If you deactivate them when they have a yellow glow, they will activate again after a few seconds (glow green and shortly after that they turn red again). I guess this could be an explanation for you running into red mines shortly after deactivating them.

This happens to lots of people, they just don’t bother to report it. I ran e.g. the Canach “dungeon” yesterday, before it got fixed (got its own NPC, soloable, several other fixes). There it had sound (voice over working as intended) but apart from that it was totally broken (that’s why it got patched).

However since the fix, I never had voice over for Kiel, the other NPCs were talking as usual.

No Reward From Canach

Hi,

Canach’s Liar was accessible before the actual patch became live, everyone (inclucing me) who finished the story dungeon pre-patch got no reward for it.

1. I entered dungeon
2. Killed Canach
3. Pressed ‘Leave Instance’ —> game ‘crashes’ and patches
4. Re-do instance, still no reward

Same here. Finished the Canach solo dungeon before the patch, so I also didn’t receive the reward. Also after repeating the dungeon several times, there was no reward.

^The 5 sec cleansing water thing to stop cantrip spamming was also pretty useless imo. I mean, who spammed their cantrips just to remove conditions? They’re better saved for stunbreaking. And even if they did spam them for condition removal, now they’re out of their precious cantrips!

It hit staff’s healing rain and the aoe regeneration from swapping to water harder.

That’s true. No matter if I’m running my hybrid or bunker, I would never spam any Cantrips for cleanse. It’s nice to have the effect of course, but to be honest, I don’t feel the difference when running D/D.

But when running with Staff as a healer/supporter, I notice the difference a lot when casting the rain. When running a different build with less healing it’s even worse because you need the cleanse…

I hope ANet has some future plans to make up for it, because they did exactly the contrary of what they were stating prepatch (weaken bunker, make other builds viable, etc.).

Nerf Magnet - Ride the Lightning

The problem about nerfing RTL is, that it doesn’t affect a bunker that hard (like stated many times before), but actually forces more and more hybrid builds (relying on RTL instead of deep Water Traitlines and Cantrips) into going bunker.

Right at the moment most classes can outrun an Ele quite easily (for some classes that was even true prenerf – calculations can be found all over the forum).

I am aware of the fact, that we still can use a Fiery Greatsword to travel/escape, even though I doubt that’s an Conjure Elite’s intended use. Even then there will be enough classes outrunning you, but at least you have burnt your Elite for keeping up a while.

What ANet seems to have failed to notice is: The problem about the bunker build was never its mobility but the synergies created in the used traitlines, when it comes to healing and condition cleansing → that would be the right place for a nerf, if you really think a bunker should not be a real bunker.

So I don’t understand why they try to make things better by repeatedly taking the wrong actions. If it’s only to make thief the most mobile class, why not give them more mobility instead of nerfing another classes mobility?

By this one nerf (talking about CD, not the range fix, this was needed) they did the following:
- Forced hybrids into bunker (the build they actually wanted to destroy)
- Therefore destroyed the least bit of diversity left (even though I will keep playing my hybrid, hoping ANet will notice the flaws in their logic someday)
- Destroyed the Ele’s (whole class, not bunker) roaming capability on big maps (mainly WvW)
- Nerfed the overall mobility of the class for traveling in PvE
- Bunkers are still bunkers, but slower → they will still outheal you and even get away with their Cantrip stunbreakers
- Success?

I hope the next few patches will reflect some understanding for class mechanics, because at the moment the patchnotes read like they are randomly nerfing and buffing without thinking about consequences (in general, not just in case of Eles). I really hope that’s not the case, even though the stream when they announced the changes and their reaction to feedback regarding the actual consequences on Ele hybrid builds tell me the contrary.

So in the next patch I expect an increase of the RTL cooldown to at least 90s then? :P

And I didn’t want to answer in an agressive way or anything similar to it (if it came out that way, sorry for that). I just wanted to point out, that not all of us are QQing and rage quitting because of a single nerf, but rather trying to deal with it, find work arounds, etc.

I never been laughed at for using this along with other successful eles builds. Quite the opposite, I gotten admired for not using the popular bunker build or the weapon type and even been taken as a challenge from various opponents in duels across servers in wvw.

I share your experience when it comes to actively using the build and others seing it being viable (both in PvE and WvW). I never had people actiually running with me in a group telling me my build was not viable, more the contrary.

Those laughing at my build were mostly narrow minded bunker users not even trying other builds. It was mainly the initial reaction to me saying “I use a condition dmg build” – “Whaaaaat? Lol, D/D bunker is the only way to go. You have no idea, n00b, etc.”

I guess that mainly happens if you meet the wrong people (trolls jumping to the most “viable” builds out there until they get nerfed and hop to the next). There are some of those on German servers.

I don’t know what you refer to as “viable” but I do really well with this build in pve/spvp and specially in wvw.

That’s why I wrote viable in quotes – citing the trolls. I personally think that most builds can be viable, when used for the right role and knowing what role you want to play in group play.

Ele along with the other professions will never be unplayable or useless. The only ones that will give up on this profession are the following: Bad players that depend on others to learn how to play this profession and those that depend on a single build to be “good” at pvp/pve.

I never said anything about quitting ele (that’s my main and it will always be).

Still this nerf didn’t address the bunker build in an efficient way. It nerfed hybrids more (that would be those players not relying on a single build and figuring out their own).

Those players will keep on trying to find other viable builds, even though they get laughed at for using so called “non viable” builds – just for not using bunker.

But on a certain point, when they farmed all variations of equip for WvW and PvE to adapt to those strange patches hitting them, when all possibilities to go different than bunker are taken away, they will give up and move to the build most “viable”.

And guess which build this still is, thanks to failed balancing attemtps.

Good that I now get punished for not playing a bunker build. I built around condition DMG (hybrid build), using Asura Racials (Pain Inverter and Radiation Field) for WvW.

My survivability was mainly based on given Weapon Skill Heals and Ether Renewal in Mist Form to remove conditions and heal up without being interrupted… The rest was timed dodging via Sigil of Energy and sometimes escaping by using RTL (what is necessary if you don’t play bunker – lack of healing power + not using cantrips except for Mist Form, less Regen, less Condi Removal, less stun breakers etc.).

So:
- Confusion nerfed (Pain Inverter with its 3 stacks of confusion will be rather useless)
- Retaliation nerfed (Pain Inverter again)
- Mist Form nerfed (can’t use Ether Renewal in Mist Form)
- Sigil of Energy nerfed
- RTL nerfed again (so I also wont get the distance to cast Ether Renewal that easily, apart from CCing the enemy and run away – hoping he/she doesn’t break CC somehow)
- I’m quite sure there will be other nerfs too hitting hybrids more than bunkers.

So, what’s left in my case is a broken build and the waste of time for me, that I farmed my ascended gear and other equip for exactly this build.

They managed to destroy my survivability and nerf my dmg output at the same time in the attempt to nerf the bunker cantrip ele. And I’m quite sure I’m not the only “hybrid ele” affected by these nerfs.

The funny thing is, that this will drive many hybrids into the bunker build, instead of making exactly those other builds who need help viable.

I really think the bunker build needed attention. But nerfing skills and traits that are more important to hybrids than to a bunker is not the way to do it.

For me this means dusting my condi equip, jumping on the bunker train when using D/D and the rest of the time fulfill my healer role with staff… Oh wait, isn’t that one of the roles non existent in this game…?

Well I’m sure they will nerf healing too quite soon… And then?

The skill is working as intended, just as Tuck and Leo G stated above.

I also use it a lot in WvW with my elementalist, together with Radiation Field (playing a balanced build that has quite good condition dmg).

Confusion and Poison are two effects most people don’t expect from an ele, so the surprise effect is very nice. Most Thiefs only notice the confusion on them when they already nuked their own HP by repeatedly spamming Heart Seeker or even worse: Dagger Storm.

The video above shows very well, how to utilize that skill as a ranger, even though some of the enemies shown in it seem to be incapable of using control effects and removing conditions…

I feel sorry for the upscaled Staff ele… ;(

But there was an official answer to the BL key delete character farming… And there ANet stated, that it’s not an exploit and won’t be punished in any way, for it’s people’s choice what they do with their time, and they could use their time much more efficiently elsewhere…

Considering the droprate of the tradeable skins (1/50) I somehow fail to see the big difference between SAB and BL key delete character farming. Apart from the skins there are only account bound items you can get. And to get those, you have to put time and effort in SAB runs. Time that would be better spent in farming Orichalcum, Karma and Exp in Orr, or doing anything else…

I only farm SAB with my 5 existing characters and only if I feel like it (some of them are still lvl 2 due to the fact I created them for PvP only – learning other class mechanics in order to defeat them). That’s more than enough wasted time. However I would never think of trying to forbid others to spend their whole ingame time in the SAB if they feel like it. It’s not that they have any advantage, for I could do the same but I don’t.

Same for any other dungeon you can farm. Invested time = gain. No invested time = none.

The chests have a daily reset, so you can do the puzzle as often as you like. I also opened the wrong chest the first time I did the puzzle

That’s nothing special and has been used since day one (or at least since the first one found out it worked during channeling).

Most ele’s use up one utility slot just to do that, so I don’t see anything overpowered to that skill combination, especially because that’s (besides Fire Grab) one of very few high dmg spike skills of the D/D ele. Given the high cast time it would hit very rarely without Lightning Flash (the opponent must be either very blind, incapable of dodging or constantly rooted by allies).

Tip: You can still easily dodge that skill by counting to ~ 3 and then dodge (the channeling duration is ~3.25s). I do that everytime in pvp when I see another elementalist channeling Churning Earth, no matter if I know that he/she has Lightning Flash equipped or not.

Such optimism; the missing T3 shoulders were one of the many things I reported way back during beta testing that are still unaddressed.

Well… The issue is not unaddressed… They addressed it by giving us the male, broken armor skin (and yes, it took them quite a while to even do that)

And that’s what I meant with my post:
If that’s how they intend to fix it, I can live without a fix. I prefer a real fix to strange fix attempts with lots of side effects. No matter if it takes half a year (those “few weeks” were just words randomly chosen to express that I don’t care about the time factor).

I’m not a big fan of provisional fixes for they very often tend to be permanent in the end. I’m glad they listened to us and at least gave us back the female armor model until they have the time to really fix the shoulders.

I never saw totally unbreakable cages there. Bugged, yes, but not unbreakable. I could always manage to get out by using AOEs but could never target the cages.

If they are unbreakable now, that must have been introduced with one of the last patches. I have to admit that I didn’t make fractal runs in the last few weeks, so that is a possible reason why I never experienced the bug you described.

Given the many other glitches that have been intoduced to the t3 armor when adding the shoulders, I can’t believe you would prefer those glitches just for having a shoulder piece that also glitches and stretches no matter what direction you are moving your arm…

I think it’s good they made a rollback for the armor. Now, based on the nearly clipping/stretching free model, they can still add the shoulders. If waiting a few weeks means to get a fully functional shoulder piece (not stretching and possible to hide it), then I can live with not having a shoulder piece for now.

What I noticed though: the backpiece is still falling off the back and snapping back when moving backwards and stopping. No idea though, if this is connected to this specific armor… I will test this as soon as I’m at home.

Actually, I also saw that effect sometimes even before the last patch. I can only tell it showed this effect sometimes on enemy/friendly mesmers.

No idea if it showed when playing the mesmer myself because I don’t have one.
