I have been running a shatter Mesmer for sometime now. Don’t get me wrong I really Enjoy the build it would be one of my favorite Mesmer builds. However I do have some complaints about it. Especially about the Skill Illusionary Leap. A shatter Mesmer Relies On this skill in order for Their Shatter to hit, but the skill is way to buggy and will miss 70% on a moving target, and if you are lucky enough to hit. There is a short window of time when the player is immobilized they are able to still dodge roll being immobilized just out of range. exactly its just the whatever the latest build to insult is or blame their own lack of skill, its a little unfair against the Power PU mesmers that have been running it since start, recently ive been receiving that much grief that ive pulled more into defence in zergs as opposed to PU just to show that all those (You beat me because your using an OP build) people can be beaten with a different build, people who are used to Power PU id recommend trying out your exact same build but replace your GS with Sceptre/offhand sword, the defence allows for more face to face combat and your guaranteed not to get whiny kids complaining, apart from one i got last night explaining that i was hacking by getting too many blocks from sceptre/sword +mimic xD

a lot of speculation went into this, it would definitly make up the 3rd heavy armour role, and would give the evil, neutral and good slots completion,

Yup, 100% correct. The game offers no reward for being good at it. The only thing keeping me in is that I have nothing better to play and I’m keeping myself entertained with projects to help other players be good at the game.

theres a counters to res so why is it broken? because the tier you play at is bad? get better at the game and the higher you rise the better quality players you will be matched with.

Stealth res – you can reveal
stab res – you can boonstrip
you can poison downs – thief can drop choking gas (OP)
ele mist to portal – you can keep a mental note of the mesmers portal or dont kill the ele in mesmer range

the only thing i can give merit being annoying is mesmer invuln on res shared with teammates, you need multiple people cleaving

It´s about facing one or two condi builds per match on the oposing team. Mostly mesmers are condi .. What a surprise … Then splash in condi war, necro and burn guard. Barley encounter other condi builds in EU gold. So basically mesmers make about 50% of the condi oponents i encounter …

Tbh its not the damage that makes condi mesmer a tough fight, its the sustainability but there are counters which once you have got down they become manageable.

some really basic points from me about each class

warrior – dodge their mace F1 everytime and you will win blindfolded
Guardian – anyhting below platinum and there is an almost 0% chance that the player will cover their burns making them extremely easy to avoid/cleanse (last on first off)
Mesmer – dodge just before their first shield block channel ends, you’ll stop them from summoning their defensive phantasm (just make sure you were the one to hit them)

Necro being the one that i have most trouble with however my 1v1 capability has improved ten fold after dueling a friend of mine who’s really good on it about 200 times over the past week. but its not the condi i had trouble with it was the boon corruption

Whats happening with games these days?
It seems more and more game companies, especially mmo’s appear to be making thier games (shall we say) “noob” friendly, with GW2 leading the charge, dont get me wrong i love this game, but all i seem to hear is people complaining that if somehting is too hard then it isnt fair.

Now im going to remind you older gamers about a forgotten gem. Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts.
This was probably the hardest game of my childhood and if you noticed when playing if you found a part too hard then you would not be able to play the game at all, this is extreme yet fun at the same time, the key word their being fun, i understand that games need to be fun but GW2 has no CHALLENGE.

I had previously made a post about the legendary weapons needing a skill aspect to acquiring one, however this idea was shot down with comments such as, thats not fair to people who arent good at the game, well in all honesty as cruel as it sounds i dont believe they deserve one as the weapon is supposed to be “legendary”.

Can anyone point out any equipment or weapons that take real skill to acquire, if not i think my point stands.

Many professions have a speed boost built in, like necromancers. Mounts will just make the game less enjoyable to play. Why? It is because players on mounts tend to agro everything and run past players not on mounts and that causes issues for those players. This was very common in Rift and TERA, 2 games that have mounts.

This phenomenon already exists in game. Not just once I stood parked on a WP for some time and players travels near there followed by a mob which just stopped and start attacking me. That is just not a reason.
And I do not say that with mounts WP should be removed or reduced in number. Instead of using a Fire Great Sword to travel quicker, I just could very well to ride a mount. Nothing is changed in terms of gameplay rules. About combat, as others mentioned, a mount could have HP. If you get hit a specific amount of damage, you dismount.

It´s more a problem of the system then a tutorial. After bronze a player should know what to do. In gold+ i expect that the player is skilled with the class he plays and not use something below his level. I main ele. If i use war/thief i will propably play at silver level and with annythign else its worse. I won´t go to ranked at gold with non ele. this is just unfair for my team. OK i might go war if it benefits the team due to rotating and fast 1:1 kill capability outweighting my lower manual skill with it.
I even get a bad feeling for the team if i don´t use soldier rune … If i do this its strangely random. The agressive build version often results in blowouts … in either direction.

yes…in an ideal world, but the players are not distributed evenly by skill level. simply because 90% of gw2 players are just bad. (theres some good stuff on the forums for begginers just force them to read it in game before joining ranked with a mini video or something i dont know

a good story needs a good beginning middle and an end not just a good end, months and months of crappy LS wont be redeemed with a good ending, the LS as a “story” is already ruined imo, however they can make up with something tied into the LS with a good content update, for example guilds start making guild halls to combat the new threat or something like that for example but as for the story i just want her to disappear its already ruined for 90% of the player base who appreciate true storytelling.

why do you need such a trivial thing to ensure you attain enjoyment, i dont recall asking for lore when playing pacman or pong.

That’s still good, being outnumbered is a better winning scenario. usually for druid the best scenarios to climb ranks is jumping on far and being outnumbered, 9/10 matches they’ll keep sending a +1 to kill you. albeit you have to do enough pressure to the home point defender which means being able to damage druids enough for them to need assistance or forcing him to use celestial. when he stealth activate your pet smoke and dodge inside it so he can’t reveal himself you’ll get a decap pretty quick against worse Druids.

In this meta as well with all the bad DH’s they tend to always try and fill the home defender role (GOD KNOWS WHY) but who cares you counter DH pretty hard. The main reason why its so hard to win on druid is that its incredibly easy to get stuck in a 1v1 that can last ages. even if its your own node youre simply flipping a coin to win leaving your team to a 4v4, best case its an ele out of the team fight those things have been broken since release.

haha maybe fow and us other small servers should start utilising the blowfish technique, hoarding mesmers and minion master necros into the zerg to scare off larger zergs

Its quite funny that this argument always crops up. Its simply a player divide in skill what might seem easy to one person seems OP to another. GW2 has always tried to balance around both high level play and catering for newer players in pvp THIS is the problem and why they could never get balance changes right for esl.

A prime example is mesmer. several times it was complained being overpowered and nerfed into the ground only being carried by its portal and moa utility skills (which honestly are broken but i like them in the game). It took them ages to actually nerf. also power guardian. it was never broken never OP was quite easy to play against with attrition. guardians being so weak (bunker not included :P) in 1v1’s simply because they relied so heavily on their cooldowns. for newer players the skills appeared overpowered and they were enough to let the guardian win fights and recharge cd’s but at higher play this just doesnt happen, players try to memorise your cooldowns and work against them.

the same is what youre discussing with condi. condi is terrible in teamfights it just doesnt work. one ele in your team fight and theyre useless. its only in the 1v1’s / 2v2’s that they become relevant. The thing about condi is that before it can do its damage it has to sit on your skill bar announcing itself to the world that you are going to be damaged over time. there are countless skills that can remove it and can also be removed by teammates. to newer players that struggle with looking at their boons/condi’s and their enemies (they’ll most likely be looking at their CD’s/ the enemies actions) they dont notice the damage tick up and they passively spam condition removal.

Playing Menders bunker but have taken Warhorn and swapped to VT over EP in nature due to the loss of the dodge. reason for this is to provide the unblockable to pets which adds some decent dps over engi/mesmer in the home point 1v1 (Cant reflect unblockable). ofc depending on if i know the thief on the enemy team is decent or not ill switch back to oh dagger. also provides fury to pet outside of of ult.

The greatswords without a doubt. Also, the amount of times you see them just puts me off. I find my Greatsaw more legendary than those (or at least for a little longer).

Twilight gets my personal vote for the ridiculous black sludge dripping off your character when they walk. Kudzu is my follow up because it’s footstep effect look like puddles of vomit from a distance.

Maybe the other team were just better? think about it, the same constrictions are there for the other team. however the only consistent value is YOU, yes you can get unlucky but over time it will average out and you will be where you belong. which with the attitude i read…is silver.

I enjoy ranked, I understand the plays i need to do in soloq with druid to carry (its difficult yes) but im platinum this season from soloq and sword warhorn menders. its not rigged, yes its very frustrating but its a challenge.

Healway are good in a dps focused group, good might as well, use GS and staff, 2 healways is what i have in my squad with one warrior an ele and a engineer, this gives the possibility of taking triple your numbers so long as you sparta them, remember that you arent a commander, you are the position-er (if leading) and are part of an equal team

Edit: in fact your guardians are gonna need staff for area denial or you wont be taking on any larger numbers than 5-8, necros,eles,guardians are perfect for area denial and should at least have 3 of those if you plan on taking on large pug zergs 15-30

Long bow is terrible and I’ve never understood why anyone serious would play it, you can do more damage with Sword/dagger quickness. try actually playing your role.
home point defender…keep and eye on that and try to get yourself in a 1v2 as this is were i believe ranger shines. ranger took a massive hit to stab with the pulse nerf making it cake for thieves so pay more attention to thief position.

also, ranger is NOT a bunker. youre never going to be standing on point and holding it like a guardian. if you want to join a teamfight try to let your ele/engi stand on point if need be and focus on keeping him alive while being ready with cele and stab for the resses.

another tip that might be useful is if you are not getting 16-25 stacks of might during fights your not doing it right. try to learn the mechanics of heal as one and why you actually get might when you use it.

however. ranger is one of the hardest classes to soloq on and get high but dont use this as an excuse. constantly evaluate why youre losing and watch video playbacks of when you though you did good/bad. then next time round avoid the bad repeat the good simple.

i do drop PU but i use PU to fight in situations like 1v3-5 or 2/3-10 so i need active defences, PU just allows me to remove some active defenses, i was merely suggesting this as to not cause such a disturbance to somenes build to encourage them to test it,
inside an enemy zerg, the counter build is going to help you much more than a Greatsword, but this way the can test it without loosing there stealth,

Btw i drop PU and grab bountiful interruption and replace sword torch with with scepter/sword and run that with Sword/focus when fighting inside enemy zergs for point defense, youll do so much more to help than PU, however when small group i use PU as we’re more than likely going against larger amounts of foes,

Remembers guys its not using a build that determines you, its how and where you use it.

In the previous season you had 33 played and 20 wins = 60% win rate (if you have played 6 matches you would had 1500 rating = Tier 1 plat)
In this season you have played 25 games and won 20 = 90% win rate (Tier 3 plat) .

By my calculation the scrubs cannot be Plats , because they needed higher Winrating by your pics .

(even so the scrubs needs 135-145 games , to be ON THE LEADERBOARDS till the end of it)

First of all read the entire post^^
The win ratio was how I wrote it and I had to lose a few games in order to get into lower rank + decay to get into bronze.
90% winratio would be 22 wins or something and I might had 80% winratio nevermind who gives a d about that.

The point is and was that pvp is not challanging. People who were last season top 250 are in my opinion weak and only like 0.5% of them are good players the others mediocre at least.
PvP season 5 were only a 120 people legendary division including a few second accounts. PvP season 6? I don’t need to mention that even weaker where you get top 250 as gold 2.
If I am already plat 3 within 25 games do you think it’s hard for me to get top 10 within 100 something games lol.

The point is still that it should not be able to reach certain things like that.
SoloQ having a winratio over 70% playing with and against duo que teams is not how good matchmaking should work. And as I said by playing duo que I would have got without a problem a 90-100% winratio (100% on those 25 games) this season.
Main problem is people don’t even belong into those ratings they currently are, sad but true.
Even after making legendary under 1950 to 1800 is a joke and only in favour of 3d class players who get into 1800 and think they are the best pro gamers ever. Specially when I had games against and with top 10 players who had 0 gamesense but atleast belong into top 10.

A last thing:
There are currently no OP classes due to the fact that each class can get countered by atleast 2-3 classes.
PU (chrono) mesmer is not a problem with DH, good necromancers, and power warriors.
DH gents countered from power warrior, scrapper, druid adn ele.
Same goes for the other professions :-)

I feel water is too strong not to take with the extra healing and the boon duration. I havnt come across a condition heavy enough team yet to warrant taking revenant runes however I only queue i dont play 5 man pre-made, I’ve been playing warhorn this season and the damage is bonus from warhorn is a good addition to the 1v1’s in which the dodge isnt needed.
with cele nerf and the stab nerf im finding warhon better in teamfights as well, the high vulnerability on warhorn stacks very fast for the target and can apply poison to ranged foes with doom on downed enemies.

Thief is still so strong (even more with terrible stab) that i cant take evasive purity with warhorn as i need the vigor to keep dodges ready for the +1 on me.

ps: you wouldnt be complaining if you got 2 tickets, double standards
