I would like to see more gnarled looking sylvari customization. A lot less human-shaped and more tree-shaped. Right now any sylvari running around without cultural armor or tree branch hair really looks like a human until you zoom in and look closely. And those of us who want to push out of human appearances are limited to just one hairstyle and one armor set. Anet was on the right track with the tree branch hairstyle… run with it!

Hay everyone, thank you fellow bronze leaguers for a season of ups and downs. At the start of the season, DH was basically purged of our veteren players and WvW guilds, and through a lot of tenacity and iron hide we were able to rally the PvXers, a handful of vets, and a whole lotta PvEers. The nature of the game is what kept them around, thinking back to what got me hooked on WvW to begin with. But map chat and TS are fun, people are in good spirits, and I think everyone on my server is very proud of our performance this season. I’m still friends with a lot of my PvE guildies from the very first guild I was in on this game, and those who logged on solely to do dungeons are now putting overtime hours into WvW. Talking to people who used to only PvE before, there is a lot of excitement about WvW now. That was the outcome I had hoped for Darkhaven, so I’d just like to give a thank you to my servermates who stuck it out and to the other servers in bronze league- best fighters NA and people I’m happy to be fighting against: HoD, SF, GoM, FC, ET, DR, AR,* and honorary mention to NSP and IOJ, looking forward to fighting you guys again soon.

I would also like to throw in some cheerleading for Styx’s post here. We’re buying gemstore stuff. We’re playing the game on a near daily basis. We post guild wars stuff on our social media. And we are WvWers. The people I started playing this game with, the casual PvE population which migrated from GW1 is long gone. WvW is our endgame, and it desperately needs a legitimate, paid team of hired Anet employees who devote their attention to WvW and have at least one person in that team who consistently communicates with the playerbase. And not just the one person who drew the short stick over coffee and bagels who will go back to reading and responding to sPvP forums shortly thereafter.
In this post Josh Davis asked for lists, break downs, bullet points. We continue to provide these, but the lack of communication on this sub forum remains sparse.

The lake party was great. Best one we’ve had since January when we faced off with GOM. I still have video footage of that evening too. Don’t remember who did it but the fireworks were a nice touch to end the evening. Next time we need a bon fire, a roast pig, and a guild feast.
I’m the usual suspect any time fireworks are involved, although I refuse to admit any guilt.

All I can say is that I hope Reikou continues his live stream when you guys face against the legit roaming servers (NSP, HoD, DR…). He’s going to be hard pressed to find upscales and staff eles to kill without running into [Splt], [XOXO], [,tM], [SPCA], [KoM], [PAXA], or any of the numerous roamers that inhabit the lower tiers interfering with that live stream of ~win.

You had the same match last week and it was closer. So did my matchup and it was closer too. The losing servers don’t try as hard when you keep getting rematches. It’s just a fact.
We’ve played against SF for the last 5 weeks, and they beat us the first two. By that logic DH should have just rolled over and be crying in our pillows by now.
nah when at least 1 server in the match changes its enough for people to regain interest for reset, and if reset goes well that interest carries through.
The week we won, that third week, we were actually losing the entire week until we kicked it into overdrive and started winning on Thursday. Your generalized assumptions might work for FC, but Darkhaven never has been a reset server. Losing makes us work harder. Losing our guilds made us work harder. When SF first entered T5 and kicked our teeth in for three days, we stepped it up and kicked back harder. I know PvEers who pulled all nighters to help us pull out some wins against you guys. We’re not perfect, we’re not as coordinated or as skilled as some servers, but we have made a habit of not backing down, and those that did have all left by now (and in some cases, transferred there and back again). We accomplish what we do with Pug commanders, PvX guilds, and only a handful of small WvW guilds. None of our guilds are as large as [LORD], [ZoS], [CoSa], or even [EDGE], but we have a lot of people who like the good fight and don’t give up in the face of a red sea. And we’ve been accumulating former DH again, now that the luster of season one (yay blues and greens) and transferring2win is over. We -are- getting better, despite it all.

I didn’t mind so much until they added guard stacks. 150 vitality, and some more power is not an insignificant buff to your build when roaming. If I didn’t have alts I would be rank 237 and sporting those guard stacks. Alas I don’t have enough points on any of my characters to reach them yet, and it will be awhile before I do.

“Winning” on reset, lulz. Re-living the glory days of three weeks ago, are we Gab?
Story time! DH got nice and cozy in first place against AR and BP all weekend that week we moved up to T6, only losing our lead Monday morning after we all went to sleep. So clearly, DH >>>> AR and BP. And the server that wins reset is the better server. Clearly. Also following through that logic, DR > DH > AR > BP. So obviously this whole tier thing is just backwards! Someone alert Anet.
DR, your 40 man EB zergs could do a lot of nice dangerous things. But mostly I see them doing a lot of not so sensible things. I have a lot of “ohkitten, what if they do THIS with their zerg” moments, only to have you guys not do them. T7 servers pushed us harder and better and were much sneakier about it. I mean, look at IOJ! They took WC while we were occupied with you. What opportunists. Cookies for them. And a little extra DH love to your towers and keep afterwards. <3

If anyone reading this thread is contemplating switching to a server in T7, I’m going to put my plug in for GoM. Our server fought GoM and HoD for 7 weeks. Their server contains a population of mobile, smart, and resilient players and they play for hard points, which has kept rewarding them all this time even when they get double teamed from the third place team playing for 2nd.
We’ve had some recruiters come to our LA from HoD, and I’d just like to really make T-shirts for you guys or something. Team GoM. Or is that … team ARM? o__0

Okay, first of all, As a MoRt commander, I can positively say that none of us who are in our voice chat, who are commanding or leading our guild in WvW, are in contact with this person. I don’t know who this person is and we have rules about transferring off of Darkhaven and we will be dealing with this. Sorry about this, and I can assure you that we have NOT been using information from him to benefit in WvW.

Just an observation is all. Have you recently fought servers in higher tiers, up to rank 7? Thought not. Sure they have a larger population base so it goes without saying youd see more people but there were more roamers. Both DH and FC seem to stick to their zerg balls for the most part, rarely do i see people deviate unless theyre in a guild group. IoJ on the other hand has a lot more solo/small group people.

Works perfectly fine for me. How about everyone else? I haven’t purchased 1 Gem with real money. Get everyone on your server not just the WvW players. If servers are so “community” oriented, it shouldn’t be a problem.
If you have never purchased gems I bet Anet doesn’t give a flying squirrel about your opinion. Quite honestly, I don’t think Anet gives a flying squirrel no matter how many gems you’re buying, because even though they have clear data which they’ve eluded to before about exactly how large the WvW community is (whether they’re buying gems or not), they won’t put a real team or a company focus on it. Especially neglecting to communicate with WvW playerbase, which is a symptom of neglecting WvW in general.

While the coverage disparity in terms of PPT is a bit annoying for some (discourages some NSP players etc), I honestly love that this matchup provides a constant source of fights. Lots of good throng surfing to be had.
Well [Os] is bigger than any guild DH can field now, so we’re in a similar boat for once. I do enjoy the opportunity to sit spam my dearest friends over at the illustrious guild [XOXO]. Had fun last night trading towers in AR BL with the [MoRt] lead zerg early last night. Good fights, We were working a bit outnumbered given the usual size of the zergs you dudes pull and since when we hit you first it was game over but head to head we slowly dropped. Wasn’t there for long, had to hand over the reins to get some work done but [WAR] loves a good [MoRt] fight.
We enjoyed the fights too. Our guild’s WvW participation has grown significantly over the last couple weeks and we’ve had a lot of fun lately If you guys do move up, give BP and EB a run for their money for us.
Had a great time in AR BL last night. The golems were a’ rollin’, and Myro had his F S UP hat on! Sorry bout those multiple upgrade bills in your garrison and bay, Anvil Rock… except not And I think DH and IOJ need to give each other a high five for this pie chart. Or at least a semi-friendly wave from behind ballistas.

I really hope that they make the scavenger difficult and long enough that players will still think that the 600g or so to buy some precursors is a suitable alternative.
+ a whole list of scavenger item requirements that can only be acquired through beating tough bosses, acquired at different times at the day, and through solo and team work.
I’m all for awarding precursors for some great feats like any of these but within a specific time frame. Like running 20 different dungeon paths within 24 hours.

The moment you enter that map you forfeit any right to complain about double teaming or having to deal with 2 servers. Yes, having to juggle offense and defense from two opposing sides is the point.

Just extend the timer to an hour, would make the world of difference. At a half an hour, you don’t have enough time to defend/scout/flip camps back to be worrying about making it back before the siege timer is up. Plus very few people have the presence of mind to refresh siege unless it’s right in front of the waypoint in which they spawn, even if you remind them. Extending the time would give those who want to devote the time to refresh siege to do so without forcing them to leave the middle of a defense to go make sure water gate is covered.

T6 has had its moments, but I definitely miss our encounters with [ASH] and [RH]. You guys are a lot better than most of the guilds T6 has fronted. And we’ve been working hard at improving our small group skirmishes and tactics, hopefully we’ll be able to fight you guys again sometime soon.

I in no way mean this to be derogatory but your current WvW stats would not get you into even the semi serious WvW guilds. How can we trust in a “specialist” who was never actively involved with the forums and certainly is no serious WvW player.
A commander can make 2k+ kills easily in a week and sometimes even more in one single evening in primetime. So we do have to wonder what you’ve done with your time in WvW.
So please Anet if you are to employ a “WvW Forum Specialist” should they not be a specialist in at least one of the areas of subject (forums/WvW)?
Exactly, less than 6k kills, bronze soldier would barely be worth the effort of targeting you to kill on an enemy server. And now you plan to spend all your time on the forums documenting WvW issues, when you barely play WvW to begin with? I’m sure you’re a decent person with writing skills, but you are clearly not a WvW specialist in any way, let alone in the same capacity as the PvE or PvP specialists are which were assigned to those game modes.
Honestly we expect nothing from you, because we expect nothing from Anet, so the appointment is little more than an appropriate symbol of the mound of bitterness that is our relationship with Anet.
On another note, I see LordKrall is still stanning hardcore forever and ever for anet. Still a better love story than Twilight.

Lol @ IOJ’s attempts at buttering up FC. That 500-600 tick each night comes only from hitting DH amirite? I can haz maths. On more than one occasion I’ve pressed M only to see FC’s side painted green in EB, while we’re trying to push IOJ in both their BL and EB. FC’s primetime seems pretty healthy to me; they can field sizable zergs with the best of us. But two big dogs (that’s you, IOJ) is an unlucky draw.

Hmm, kind of hard to say since I think DH and SF will both evolve a lot after a couple weeks of this current match-up. I look forward to DH and SF feeding off of each other to the point where we both belong in T5. Given time I think we will see quite the difference in all three servers in this tier. IoJ will evolve a lot in this match-up as well, I’m just speaking mostly about DH and SF because of what I am replying to.
I see this happening as well. Both of our servers have spent quite a long time stomping (with our three week interlude on the flipside, getting stomped), and it is probably the first time many people on DH have faced a server that matched us so well. I see a lot of good stuff happening yonder, including those large organized guilds, and I see DH crossing her arms a bit and rising to the challenge. I also see quite a bit of our server in yours, namely both of our clamoring for STERNMIST at all costs, the most beautiful castle that shines brightly in the eyes of young SFers and DHers everywhere ~grabby hands~.
And another observation: from the first week we played IOJ recently (i.e: who/where are they…?) to now: you guys are a new animal. Props to getting on your feet in the face of larger servers. I see a lot of stubborn holding and sneaky ninjas, and enthusiastic participation in the new/old T6 meta game: GOLEM ARMIES.

I don’t think DR is better necessarily, they are in second due to better coverage (did I get that right?).
We have worse coverage.
IoJ always plays for second which is why the score between IoJ and DR is closer than it should be. DR is by far the superior server.
I’m sorry, I guffawed at that. Everyone thinks their server is the superior one. To make such a biased statement you need solid proof to back it up to be taken seriously.
Is beating them 6/8 weeks enough proof for you?
(Note that IoJ always plays for second too, if DR did that we would absolutely destroy them)
