My 2 cents:

Mastery level is fine.

But gating specilization behind mastery is not.

Many hero challenges are not doable without mastery level.

Please reconsider the linear progression in the track . Traits should be unlocked altogether otherwise the specialization is useless.

Hero point requirement for alternate characters also need reduction. It is not the difficulty but it is tiresome to run all 9 characters in the same map again. Hero point should be awarded in all activities, like crafting, adventure and pvp alike.

I have some idea on character customization.

Scrap the Town Clothing mechanism – With the restriction in WvW, in combat and underwater, the continue existence of Town Clothing is questionable and better to revamp it to pure cosmetic. Costume Brawl is bound to toys so there is no problem for removing town clothes. Just make the town clothes to skin.

Ascended Weapon Skin – Stat should not be bound with the appearance. Let us choose the color of the weapon when crafting and give us mystic forge recipe for doing it.

Breathing Apparatus – Some people mentioned breathing apparatus crafting, but I think there is no point to spend an extra rune for it. Just make it cosmetic and use the stat from headgear. Just keep adding more skins for it.

Title and Dialogue – Some NPC with have a different dialogue once you earn the respective title. (e.g. the NPC at the dungeon entrance if you have Dungeon Master, festival NPC when you complete all festival acheivement)

I agree with the others in the post so far.

The most important problem to be addressed is that LW doesn’t bring long lasting impact to the world. Once the 2 week period is past , the content is simply vanished without any trace – enemy not to be seen, barren location with no purpose after patch. It is a shame that some content are gone forever without re-playability.

Worse still, the lack of progression of story inside the game – there is no indication what the player and NPCs are going to do. For example, shouldn’t we actively searching for Scarlet rather than waiting her to throw more minions at us? After the clockwork chaos we wait for a whole month for fighting Tequatl and SAB and then she made a new base in Twillight Arbor without anyone noticing? They should at least try to put some aetherblades near TA and fighting with Nightmare Courts and let us know that something is going to happen in TA. However I believe they have addresses this issue as the latest patch they placed Marjory Delaqua to investigate incidents in Kessex Hills for preparing the intro of the next LW story.

Another problem is the lack of content due to forcibly to fit into 2 week release cycle.
Usually once we finished the achievement in 2-3 days than there is nothing much we can do. I would like to have a more polished story like Flame and Frost rather than farm-driven like Queen Jubilee. I won’t mind to slow down the release cycle but please make more polished content rather than farming events.

Or, even simpler solution is to make the rewards time gated. Kill in 15 min, awesome, you get max rewards. 20 mins tier 2 rewards, 25 mins tier 3, 30 mins tier 4. After 30 he despawns. This will allow people to access the content, learn the content, and not get ridiculously punished and waste 15+ mins of their life for nothing.

I don’t think that would work, that still does nothing to solve the issue that the event is dependent on those 6 turrets and any number of them manned by someone not properly using them can kill the event.

This event further simplifies the roles into damage and support – but imbalanced to the extreme. 6 supports in a 100 man raid—-How could this be feasible?They should introduce more ways to support rather than relying totally on the turrets.

Also they can link the nearby events to the tequatl fight—- for example if you stop the krait from stealing supply, you get a faster recharge time for mega laser, if you clear Chokevine Gorge from risen control, The Warden will come and help defending the turrets – which provide more ways to support and boost dps.

Besides turret, place some weapon cache like in the Claw of the Jormag fight. Each weapon contains 1 of the turret skill. We can sacrifice some dps to do the supporting role by picking up the corresponding weapon .

Better to be a time attack rather than a time gated content. Depending on time you defeat it you get more rewards. Once 15 minutes past “Something” left Tequatl and it becomes the pre-patch version and you get the same reward before patch after you beat it.

What is the point of extending the trivial fight time to double or more?

If you want more people to get the boss rewards, just shorten the respawn timer.
Daily Chest already eliminate the need for farming world bosses repeatedly.
The long hp bar is punishing those who came first and more people will just wait for the later phrase as they know the boss won’t be dead so fast now.

Tequatl is getting a revamp for its game mechanism.
However will this also reflect from lore side?

A dragon champion suddenly becomes more formidable one day.
Thoughts on it:
1. It breaks free from Zhaitan’s control so it behaves differently.
2. It absorbs magic from Zhaitan’s defeat.
3. Modified version by Scarlet/Inquest
4. It is that strong since the begining.

I was shocked a bit when the camera zoomed to her in closing ceremony.Is this intented to create such non stereotype compared to other sylvari npc?
It feels so unnatural and weird(or disgusting by my pov) for her voice, hair, armor and face are mismatched. She doesn’t feel like a sylvari.

Orichalcum Ore node in Frostgorge Sound bug?

I find 2 nodes, 1 is near the Pact cannon and the other one is on the hill with the ice brood. However when I mine the node on the hill, the node next to the Pact cannon becomes mined. This happened to me two times and I am guesting.

Is it a bug or a feature?

Have you and your groupmates done control and support role also?
Base on situation, if some mobs are chasing one guy, the rangers can use traps/roots to help prevent the mobs approaching. For you , you have some skills to give you block/ageis/protection to reduce incoming damage.
You are not confined to melee even you are a heavy armor class. You need to kite in some fights.

Hesitant to help due to dodge daily.

With under water kill and reviving,
T5/6 wood and ore,
The ice wurm’s rock throw attack counts 2 dodge

If the guy just standing there without attacking back, I will just ignore him.

Because if so, there should be one (since that’s what the weapons are based off, and that’s why there isn’t a Foefire staff).

Strangely, the staff phantasm uses a secpter.

But my opinion is futile and please go ask for Anet to do this.

Because there are so many kittens ask for vertical progression so Anet create this near-to-nothing progression to feed them.

The pre-patch part is fun, but it is painful for non-dps group.

Suggestion:
With so many post complaining they can’t learn with the new anti-res-rush mechanism,
Anet should gives them a place to learn and without the fear of wasting their hard earned coins.

A grouped instance which can be entered solo or grouped with mobs and boss doing similar attacks and you can practice how to dodge their attacks.

You won’t damage equipment and but no drops and only get reward at the first time so there is no profit to grind.

Honestly doing this via dungeons is taking a complicated route to solve a problem in a system that problem isn’t native to. This is a class balance problem, not a dungeon scaling problem. They need to nerf and buff classes so that performance potential is as close as it can be across all classes.

Rather than having dungeons dynamically respond to party composition, I think a two pronged strategy of ensuring all classes have something valuable to bring to the table (like mesmer portals, feedback, blink, guardian walls and aegis etc) which interect well with dungeon mechanics in a challenging but rewarding way, but also don’t feel so necessary that certain classes with access to certain abilities became dramatically more efficient at content.

They need to give classes lacking in utility ways of contributing to groups (like the ranger) ways to access the mechanics and tools that are so valuable in dungeons. They also need to be careful not to design too much content which makes classes with those tools dramatically more desirable than those without them. While dynamically altering content to challenge a party composition is an interesting idea, I think it’s too complicated and not as efficient as getting class balance and dungeon design right in the first place.

I want to elaborate more.
For example, there is a gate you need to break through to progress, the first way is to destroy the gate and trigger a wave of mobs to engage you(brute force)

Another way is to pick pocket/use pet to search/forge the key and won’t trigger alarm(sneaky).

The last way is to conjure a ritual to open a secret path(magic) (defense event).

So that you can choose your path according to class combination, though may trigger a trend to favor some route

From open world, DE, dungeon, the mobs are usually in groups, and with the current tagging mechanism, AoE gives out significant advantage over single target attack for looting.

Even for dungeon bosses, most of them comes with adds, which needs to be dispatched quickly. Usually you can’t 1 shot those adds with a single target attack, so in a given time, AoE can kill a grouped mobs faster and minimize damage done to the group.
My concern is will the environment be tuned to adapt a more single-target focused mechanism? It seems that without overhaul the existing bosses and environment, the nerf of AoE damage will simply elongate the fight.

I know this question had been raised since the start of this game, but I don’t want to necro those thread back, so I open this thread to ask again.

The solution for 100% map complete now is to jump to a winning side server for free.
However once guesting is up, you need to pay to transfer.

For place like Orr you can guesting to a more popular server to get the map done, but how can you finish a map if your server is being crushed by the other two?

This is not able to be done in some servers.

The 4 warrior 1 mesmer run is a money run, so time do matter.

Well I guess it’s Deputy Mira after all. And for the time it would have taken Trahearne to wrap her up – he didn’t fight anyway, so he must have had a lot of time to do just that ^^

Most of the story characters just appear inside story instances or idle in towns.
Maybe they can become DE at the places where we met them in story.
Showing Trahearne leading soldiers in CS maybe a good choice to ease the hate of him :p
At least he is doing something rather than standing inside Fort Trinity all the time.

It is not a war without both side participating.
The Pact soldiers keep laying dead while every waypoint keep contested is not good for leveling.
I don’t mind if it is in cursed shore only, but it’s annoying in SoD and ML.
Maybe time to introduce event like wvw which npc commanders lead you to recapture towns.

I don’t want to go to Orr when I level my second toon. Frostgorge Sound is much more beatiful and relaxing than the three maps in Orr. It contains a wide range of life inside the map despite the threat of the Jormag.
Inside Orr there is only undead, which is very dull.
At least you won’t get killed in a town when you AFK a bit.

The most efficient way is to buy chest/legging with temple karma vendor,
And everything AC.
However you may need some transmute stones since ac and karma armor don’t match very well

Rallying is instant while reviving need one to become stationary and sacrifice their dps to get people up. Rallying is much more efficient and reviving usually draws fire to both reviver and downed person. In fact you better avoid being downed rather than waiting for someone to help you.
( @teviko, no, you won’t broke equipment when you are revived by player, unless you are dead)

If you can’t do it, find other things to do.
You look like a PVE-er complaining you can’t play pvp while there are pve events for youto do.
(BTW I finish it after 5 tries, once you get pass the snowflakes, it is easy.)

Buy at your own concern.
If you want to save for karma, do daily achievement.
It gives you around 4k karma for 1 jug of liquid karma,7k with karma booster.
