I’ve played Warrior as my Main, for about a year.
And till the HEALING BUFF several months ago, Warrior sustain was HORRIBLE. Absolutely dismal. Once I lost health, the best way for me to recover it was to run away and get out of combat, or go dry-hump a Guardian.
I really dont want to see a return to the Dark Ages of Healing Signet becoming worthless.
You forgot to mention there is no 30/30/30/30 build, with 3 weapon swaps and 5s cooldowns on burst skills :P
Another common misconception I see on the forums here
Healing surge 9895 + 3600 adrenal health = 13495 / 30 = 449 hp/s
Healing signet 29 seconds 11368 + ~1 sec cast time active 3275 + 3600 adrenal health. = 18.243 / 30 = 608 hp/s
1200 dps on ~3500 armor to at least just have only 50% of the dps outhealed, while having to dodge hammer and mace attacks and get stunned anyways + the target has blocks and invulnerability to counter bursts, isn’t really easy.
I wouldn’t have anything against this strong heal, if it wasn’t passive.
There’s a slight problem with your calculation. You calculated the healing as if Adrenal Health was at 3 bars 100% of the time during the entire fight. You didn’t count the fact that Warriors start fights at 0 Adrenaline, and have to build up.
Furthermore, you also mentioned Hammer and Mace stuns along side those incorrect healing values, but again neglected to compensate that these are burst skills that require using all the warriors adrenaline and stripping away their adrenal health heal.
You can’t have BOTH. You either have the passive healing by sitting on adrenaline, OR you’re using your Bursts for stuns. And dont forget, this is in the defense tree.
Isn’t the purpose of the defense tree supposed to be to increase survival?
Thanks for the report, I can speak to the team about this one.
Awesome, thanks!
It’s easy to reproduce. Hopefully it’ll be easy to fix. Good luck!
I actually LIKED the Molten Alliance.
It was portrayed as a very fragile “the enemy of my enemy..” alliance. better still, it began to crumble, with each side blaming one another, when they started to lose anyway.
That would be my list as well.
I think they need to give the warrior attention to rangers, thiefs and eles, (maybe necros and engis…don’t play them…). And no, not buffing their one viable build, but making it so multiple builds are viable.
Even with all the love, Warrior still has that same issue. Dont get me wrong, Warrior has completely viable options. But there’s still a lot of unused and useless weapon skills, traits, and utilities. I’d like to see all the useless stuff (on all classes, not just war) get a bit of a re-tweaking.
Afaik, you Can swap weapons out of combat. Like any other profession.
I think what he’s asking for is some kind of template you can predefine, so you don’t need to bag-swap.
IE: Staff is F5, D/D is F6, S/F is F7, etc….
Not the same people working on balance and on Living Story though.
So it most likely wouldn’t make any difference. And I don’t think all people would be happier with balance instead of new content tbh.
Here’s my priority list
1. Balance/Bug Updates
2. New Class Options (New Skills, Traits, Weapons, etc)
3. New WvW stuff (Siege options, WvW skill options)
4. Living Story
Obviously I speak for myself only. No idea what the playerbase “majority” wants.
Good Afternoon ANet: A long standing issue here.
Any idea when is the issue of TWO sigils being available on a MH/OH weapons vs 1 Sigil on a Two-Handed weapon, is going be addressed?
The fix seems fairly easy. Either remove the sigil slot on Offhand weapons, or add a 2nd sigil slot to 2-handed weapons.
Oh cmon, I can’t be the only person who finds this infuriating??
All the time in WvW, I fire a shot at a wall, and then am forced to dodge backwards, and my shot gets “dragged” backwards with me, losing range due to this bug.
Seriously? I can practically solo fire ele. I think I’d fail to inflict enough DPS in time, but staying alive is easy.
- Never stand still, keep moving to avoid the lava and fire rings, and the fire tornados
- If you get knocked down or launched, immediately stun-break, and dodge away. The only real way to die is to be caught in a knockdown inside a fire ring.
- Favor ranged weapons over melee. You’ll have more room to maneuver.
- Keep your health topped off. Eat some +regen food, it helps a lot.
1. Warriors are not clamoring for Healing Signet buffs, or buffs of ANY kind really. Not the sane ones anyway. As a main War, the class is in a good spot right now. We’re currently flavor of the month, but that’s bound to change soon; the meta is ever so fickle. Some other classes do need some buffs and tweaks, to be sure, but Warrior should be left alone for a while.
2. Warriors can clear condis a few ways
- Cleansing Ire – Cleanses when using a burst, Defense 20
- Traited Warhorn – Cleanses when using Warhorn 4 or 5. Tactics 20.
- Soldier Runes – Cleanses when using shouts, Rune skill #6
- Shake it Off – Removes 1 condi on all nearby allies, Utility Shout, 25s CD
- Mending – Remove 3 condis and heals a moderate amount, Heal Button (very similar to consume conditions)
So while there are many power cleanse options, they all come at a cost. Traits, heal/utility slots, rune slots, etc.
3. Shout Heal Warriors are basically support builds. They’ll often run a Hammer. You’ll have difficulty killing them 1v1, because of their high healing, tankiness, and ability to slow the fight down, but all they can do to you is try to slowly wear you down. You may remember this sort of tactics from time spent fighting against EVERY guardian ever! :P
Healing Signet is a powerful regen effect. There’s no denying that.
But Adrenal Health is in the DEFENSE tree. A tree which is supposed to increase Warrior survival. ANet has stated their intended method of Warrior survival is via Regens, such as Heal Sig and Adre Health.
Outside of traiting into tactics 30, Warriors have no alternate means of healing.
Guardians, Engineers, and Eles for example, have the 6 button, along with weapon skills, attunements, kits, utility skills, etc. A whole slew of alternate means to recover or mitigate damage.
Warrior gets no access to protection. NONE whatsoever. It gets extremely minimal access to the regen buff. No health recovery on any utilities (except tactics banner, but go see how that works out for you in a 1v1 duel). Therefore, all Warrior healing has been consolidated into a single #6 button
Think back to before the Healing buff a few months back!
What was the Warriors primary issue? Lack of Sustain!
These skills were buffed intentionally. And it’s not creating as big an issue, the primary user of Healing Signet are the Bunker and Bruiser warrior builds. Aren’t they supposed to be sort of tanky?
i speak the truth to everything i say.
My truthful track records speak for itself; and no, i don’t
I am a player of Action and the Truth; and that is why I’ve been encouraging many of you to see this as well.
Most Importantly to Arena.net because they are the makers of this game and they have the Absolute Power to take into action of any threats that is overpowering and breaking their beautiful world of guild wars 2.
And no, i will not be silent to see this class take this away from them, from their hard tireless work, great effort and their passion to their beautiful creation.
My purpose is to reveal the truth and so is the truth i’’m revealing to you and most importantly to Arena.net; to remove hammer from warrior class until it’s fully balanced.
As the saying goes, ‘the truth will set you free’
The truth will set warriors free from their OP status and their op hammer.
For, ‘I take my stand, I will not be shaken’
I cant help but laugh every time you use the word truth in your post.
This truth you speak of is nothing more than your opinion!
Your opinion is that hammer is overpowered. That is NOT a fact, or truth in any way, shape, or form! That is how you personally feel! It does not necessarily reflect the actual state of things, or the opinions of others.
Dont get me wrong, it’s perfectly fine to have your own opinion. It’s even fine to come to the forum and post your opinion, along with your reasons for feeling that way, and what you think might improve a potential issue.
BUT as long as you try to sell your opinion as fact or truth, you will be (rightfully) laughed at and ridiculed.
For the record, I do things like this in my work email too. Anything to break the droll monotony, right?
A veritably virtuous and valuable vision visited upon this vile and violent vicinity, it’s validity vigorously and vehemently verified via vim, vivacity and vitality
Has anyone else tried reproducing this bug? Please give it a try, and let me know what you find!
These weapons already sort of exist: Siege weapons.
When using a Ghastly Longbow at night, the “blue flames” effect is much larger on the bottom half of the longbow than the top half.
After firing a shot, the entire “blue flame” effect will often vanish, and not return till after the weapon is un/re-equipped. Weapon swapping has no impact.
This can be produced 100% of the time.
My class is warrior. My ghastly longbow has not been transmuted. The other few Ghastly weapons I have, display properly.
Just tested, and confirmed this bug is still around. Therefore, BUMP!
And you quoted my unedited post a second time. Triple fail.
Edit: Cmon, try again, go for quadruple fail! I’ve never seen someone screw up the same thing 4 times while ironically using the word fail!
(edited by Dand.8231)
Trait says Stunned foe. Fail.
I was referring to Hammers trait. Fail.
Also. I realized you might misconstrue things (as per your history of doing exactly that in this thread) and edited my post. Then after that, you decided to quote my un-edited post. Double fail.
(edited by Dand.8231)
New Earthshaker- Does an 2 second AoE Daze + cripple.
To compensate for the nerf, Unsuspecting Foe gives 50% more crit to Stunned and Dazed foes.
Actually its gives +50% on Daze. Fail.
Trait says stunned foe. Fail.
Hammer trait says disabled foe. Use that instead. Problem solved.

I’ve been trying to buy an obsidian shard for 3 weeks now. Never once have I seen the temple be taken. It’s no soloable, and no one does it.
So maybe it’s time for a change, huh?
I love this idea.
I’d love to be able to learn and swap out semi-permanent weapon skills at a trainer, like traits.
I like Earth or Forge rune for the Protection Duration and procs.
Edit: actually, what are you trying to do exactly? Bunker PvE? WvW? PvP?
Dolyak run is terrible. There are way better runes to make yourself tankier.
(edited by Dand.8231)
wat?
Seconded.
But seriously, I think this is more a post about Axe skills than comparing our classes F1 buttons.
This is a fact cause I said so! That’s how facts work!
OMG! This new heal skill I know NOTHING about beyond a catchy advertising blurb, and isn’t even in-game yet, is clearly O-kittenING-P!
This will be the DOWNFALL of GW2 foreverz!
/overreact
Ooor….. we could all, ya know, settle down and wait a week? Lord.
Please kill Scarlet at least here, no one cares how she dies
I care how she dies.
Why? Because I want to make kitten well sure it’s GODkitten MOTHERkittenING PERMANENT.
Worst. Villian. Ever.
She doesn’t even have any redeeming factors, such as being amusingly campy like most bad guys… or a “love to hate” her vibe.
No. I want her gone forever.

Alright, so…
Mortar Kit
Range 1500.
Can move while holding kit.
All skills self-root during the cast time.
It generates Ammo slowly over time, 1 shot per 9 seconds, regardless of whether it’s active or not.
Maximum ammo 20 shots.
Thus “cooldown” is effectively 180s, except far more flexible.
Am I the only one who uses axe 5 to proc bleeds with Precise Strikes after chaining it with axe 4 for fury? I could care less about the damage, because I use offhand axe as a utility, as most offhand weapons are used.
EDIT: back on topic, I’ve been saying for ages that axe 5 needs a projectile reflect.
Yes, you probably are. Why? Because axe is primarily a power weapon. Assume you have a 100% chance crit with fury, thus a 33% bleed per hit. On average, you’ll stack 5 bleeds in 3 and 1/2 seconds from Axe 5. You’ll need heavy investment in precision.
Now look at Sword auto, with 2 bleeds per full chain. The chain speed is 1/2, 1/2 and 1/4. You’ll end up stacking 5 bleeds in 3 seconds. The difference is, you need 0 precision, so you can invest that 1200 precision into condi damage instead, which makes your bleed ticks absolutely brutal,
BTW it’s pretty standard that weapon attacks 2-5 are a DPS loss vs. auto-attacks on most weapons.
*if those skills provide additional utility.
Yeah, more or less.
Axe 1 and Axe 3 are both fine.
2 and 4 are of questionable usefulness. 5 is just outright silly, it’s effectively a weaker version of auto-1, with notably worse DPS like 95% of the time. That extra 5% of the time is not worth bringing along an offhand axe, which is why it’s rarely seen.
It’s competing with Warhorn, Shield, OH Sword, and OH Mace for a slot, so it need’s to be useful relative to them or else it’ll sit on the sidelines forever, only being used for “lulz” and infinite spinning in town.
Yeah, my friend stole a 20s stability off a Rampage Warrior once. Was pretty hilarious
I think 2h Axe would make a great High power, devastating strikes, but slow telegraphed attack style weapon.
Also on my wishlist for Warrior weapons is:
Staff or Polearm: But used as a martial weapon, striking and tripping foes, rather than some sort of caster/support. A mid-range weapon, with extended reach for most attacks (300 instead of the standard 130) and wide sweeping blows.
Chain off-hand: A control weapon, that can disarm (daze), and pull distant foes.
Paired Battle Gauntlets: Think monk unarmed style strikes but with studded metal gloves. A speed based set with low power, moderate mobility, and a super-fast chain, and quick cast times and low CD’s on most moves.
Pistols: Lacking any element except a tiny bit on a longbow, I think pistols would be a good place to make up for that by adding more fire to the mix. Think back to the “Champion of the Blazing Guns” NPC.
My only real issue with rifle is bleeding shot, and the trait location.
F1 = power (strength tree)
2 = condi duration (strength tree)
3 = power (strength tree)
4 = power + condi dur (strength tree)
5 = power (strength tree)
and then….
#1, Bleeding shot – power +…. condi damage?? wut??
Trait = Arms tree, crit + condi damage…. wut??
Longbow isn’t much better…
F1 = power + condi, another bi-curious attack
1 = power
2 = power + condi
3 = power (and how!)
4 = condi dur
5 = condi damage
TWO traits.. both in… Tactics?! So…uh… Vitality/Boon duration?!?!
What does either stat have to do with Longbow? LB has exactly 0 boons, and no weapon out there is linked to vitality.
PoWeR rAnGeRs
Scoob, your attachment is OP. Nerf plz kthx
We want 2h Axe
Hells yeah we do!
I’m pretty sure this thread was to remind us to go post bugs in the bug forum, not post them here, or squabble over class balance…
There were no intended stealth nerfs. Only tooltip bugs. It may just be that the text incorrectly describes the skill or trait.
Thanks, good to know!
I’ve never seen stealth nerfs go over well anyway. Some dataminer or min/maxer inevitability stumbles across it, and a few forum posts later, credibility gets trashed XD
Rocket Launcher Kit
All attacks deal considerable damage and have a 1500 range, but while the Rocket kit is equipped, the Engineers movement speed is capped at walking speed. The Kit has a 10s cooldown when deactivated (to prevent swapping rapidly to avoid the movement drawback).
1. Standard Rocket – Moderate Damage, Single Target, Small AOE blast radius, CT 3/4.s
2. Homing Rocket – Moderate Damage, Single Target, Small AOE blast radius, ignores blind, undodgable, CT 1 1/4s
-While the yield is identical to a standard rocket, this projectile contains a custom tracking system that can adjust its trajectory and chase it’s foes._
3. Shockwave Charge – Moderate Damage, Ground Target, Knockback, CT 3/4s, CD 20s
4. EMP Shot – Moderate Damage, Medium Lightning Field 3s, Ground Target, CT 3/4s, CD 25s
Fires a rocket which creates a lightning field, that can interrupt brain function and daze foes every second
5. Napalm Warhead – High Damage, Large Fire Field 3s, Ground Target, Range 1500, CT 2s, CD 30s
.Now with 17% more flammability!
Axe 4 and 5 both sorta suck. This is nothing new.
Just FYI, Axe auto-attack-chain does more DPS than Axe 5.
Axe 5 is only better when you hit 5 foes with every single blow.
To make Axe viable as an offhand weapon, #4 needs a complete rework, and #5 needs a tiny buff.
For 5 some (mutually exclusive) possibilities include:
- Make damage identical to auto-attack. Thus equal in usefulness vs 1-3 foes, superior vs 4-5 foes
- Granting stability during the whirl
- Reflect projectiles
PS: I’m not complaining about warrior viability as a class. We have plenty of good options. Axe offhand simply isnt one of them.
So in this exemple, should it ever state you gain 3 times the product of a base value, the result should always be 3 times that base value, no matter what. If you do otherwise the description remains inaccurate.
If 1×3 = 3 = triple -> 1 Normal Blow
than 0×3 = 0 = triple -> 1 Blow from Burst SkillThe description can only be true if it was writen the following way “you gain additional adrenaline with each critical hits”, and in this case specificy the amount you gain in the tooltip.
I’ve noticed burst crits gave +adrenaline with Furious.
So whatever the description said about triple, the math formula for actually adding adrenaline must have always been additive for the very reason you stated.
It almost makes sense to simply say Triple, since ~90% of Warrior moves are 1 adrenaline. But the few skills that have a base adrenaline gain of zero, show us the ACTUAL coding MUST have been something functionally equivalent to this:
If Normal Attack then Adrenaline = 1
If Burst Attack then Adrenaline = 0
IF Furious Trait=Yes, and Crit=Yes, then Adrenaline = Adrenaline + 2
In other words, ANet needs to decide which way they want to go with this trait. Do they want it to say “Adds +2 adrenaline on crit” which means adjusting the tooltip, or “grants triple adrenaline” in which case they need to adjust their code.
I vote they just update the wording of the tooltip…. every time they touch the code, something breaks. Look how bad they messed up chaos storm last week!
1. zerk builds are glass, and way better off with surge, than signet. They can be bursted down in 8 seconds easy, and thats WITH 4 seconds of endure pain. In 8 seconds, heal sig is worth 3k health. Woohoo. I’d much rather a 9k surge burst heal.
2. How is this a suggestion? Seems like a complaint.
Finally got into WvW after a 2 hour Queue, only to be slammed with SUCH horrific lag that I can barely even play.
What good is a stunbreaker if it takes 6 seconds to activate?!
People been asking for this for a long time, like 10-11 months ago? Anet still haven’t change it sadly.
Tell me about it.
CD kitten
Also… CD kitten??? How did ANets filter managed to mistake two numbers for profanity?! O.o
sometimes using your signets will cause the bonus prec to appear when they come off CD. It worked for healing sig, when it was bugged in sPvP
Progress: 0%
After playing for a solid year, I’ve still yet to get a single precursor drop. Since I dont farm or play 12 hours a day, I’ve got about 250g, far too little to buy one.
Blah.
This is a supremely absurd idea for multiple reasons.
Either hes serious and doesn’t realize kitten is the filter, or he’s doing the worst job trolling ever.
Either way I lol’d
At least he posted it in an appropriate sub-forum
