I don’t suffer from Motion Sickness, though the raptor’s movement left and right did trigger some dizziness. The sudden animation in popping the toon in the air does give some measure of headache. A full view that isn’t so focused on the raptor did help a bit.

Honestly, I think an account should have at least one level 80 before it unlocks as an option for gems. If they are going to sell them as is, then they should undo all the level gating design changes they implemented in fear of ‘confusing new users’.

The market only shows what is available for sale. It doesn’t necessarily reflect saturation among the users’ account data.

It’s really simple. The Gift of Souls is only used in “The Crossing”. That item is a regular exotic weapon and it’s unique skin is the only reason to obtain it. With the changes to the transmutation system, there is only a need to get one per account. The market is saturated from this change and there are better options to invest in.

I don’t know if I would call a supply of 270-ish saturated but I get your point. Once you have it you wont need another. Look at what happened to the price of Wintersday booze once most of the people chasing Winter’s Presence unlocked the skin.

It’s out of Arenanet’s hands. Different parts of the world have a varying strength with their currency (hell, even in the states the dollar isn’t even equal in value nationwide). There is also a conversion fee in place for the service. All of that is calculated by the people in the world’s gov’ts. That is the agreement everyone has to agree to. Though, I agree that Areanet should be given the full value they are asking for regarding their product regardless of where you live. If you think the conversion for you is bad, just ask the people living in Mexico. Their peso is ungodly weak, in comparison to the American dollar.

And it’s not like it costs a whole lot to change the stats on your ascended gear; just enough to make an exotic insignia, a couple of ectos and replace the runes/inscriptions if you don’t have an extraction tool.

Dagger update

in Necromancer

Posted by: Zeivu.3615

Zeivu.3615

Personally i think a mobility skill would help mh dagger alot.

Mobility in what way? We have the Quickening thirst perk.

Theyre too lazy/busy to do meaningful reworks or animation changes.

Same with warrior torch. Its clunky but deals lots of dmg. Solution ? More dmg

1) Our dagger didnt get the thief speed up or dmg boost.
2) We need a target in LOS to heal , others have AOE self heals to use behind cover…. oh and its still slow after the 4years animation speed up and has no stab/invuln cover
3) The dagger was always 111111 pray for 3 111111
The boon corupts are ok, but more of a patch to cover power creep of condi/cleanses.
The main problems like range, cast time, blind spam and dont even get me started on everyone having soooo many defensive CDs that the “infamous immobilize stacking” isnt even a thing anymore
4) the dagger trait sucks

…aaand with all that, dagger is still better than trashsword.

It’s true. The daggers are much quicker, can do more DPS, and has better all over synergy in Vanilla builds than Reaper, even if the range sucks.

I’m all for experimenting with underdeveloped weapons. We’ve gotten 3-4 axe buffs in the past few months, making it a functional weapon in both pvp and wvw.

I still can’t see ever using dagger, but if they take the axe route of slowly buffing it until people actually use it, that’s a good thing.

If it gave stability for example.

I have played with the axe since it’s buff and run a Power/Precision/Toughness M/M necro. I still don’t think it adds up to the dagger builds. It can only hit one target at a time, can only hit once at a time, has a lower base damage, slow as hell, and the vulnerability condition it inflicts still doesn’t kill things quick enough, even with all it’s synergy build perks.

Forced Rezing in Group Boss Fights.

It isn’t always possible to rez everyone who downs. With area denials, carpet bombs, and large, attack radiuses with heavy power the newer bosses exhibit , going to in rez puts you in direct harm’s way and only results in lower DPS. If it’s possible, I will help other players, but I will not put myself on the line if it will take me out as well. That is just stupid and counterproductive.

How about avoiding corpses at all and reviving people while they are downed?

We have a large group of players who still beleive, helping a downed ally is the worst thing you can do in a boss fight. Those people beleive their contribution to the dps is critical and should never stop at all, at any cost. Some of them are focused enough to rather risk a full wipe instead of “wasting” 5 seconds of their precious time.

Not to mention the fact that they also let their healers/buffers/cleansers & tanks die, just because dps>all. When the tank is gone, the boss aims for the next. If there are only zerkers arround, it is russian roulette. When the healers are gone, the ammount of corpses increase. And so the ammount of players who refuse to WP.

Don’t blame the few guys who refuse to WP, they are not the problem. Change the problem in the heads of the players. The entire situation is created by the players themselves. Teach your people to revive downed people instead of ignoring them.

Blaming the community when the real fault here is the designers choosing to use band-aid fixes for problems that need much different solutions.

Farming by itself isnt bad, however when the problem could be solved without needed to create designated farm spots you should do that. In short fix the economic issues with numbers not by creating “Farms”.

This. They could easily increase drop rates, add more places they can be obtained, and/or simply lower the amount of required leather in crafting.

I could also see that as a solution as well. It seems simple enough, but I just don’t know how probable it is. I am not familiar enough with their coding. I only know that a forced rez is possible from other aspects from the game. Though, would people on the ground get participation rewards too? Because that seems unfair to the people actually bringing the boss down.

How to Deal With AFK Farming

People who are AFK don’t move, don’t they? Why not just boot the toon if they don’t move for more than 5 minutes? Of course it won’t stop bots if they move a bit, but it should make things a tad more obvious.

A 5 minute AFK timer? Do you realize how many false positives you would get?

I keep track of a lot of stuff on various spreadsheets while playing. Just because I have not jostled the mouse in 5 minutes has no bearing on if I am actively playing. Meanwhile someone who has a bot that knows to send some movement every 5 minutes gets a pass?

Agreed. I can spend an hour trying different dye combinations with different armor pieces to find something I like. I cant even see my character while looking at the hero and preview screens. It would be really annoying to have to constantly move my character during this process to avoid being kicked.

Like tapping a single key once every five minutes will really harm you. Especially if you consider the mouse as an input.

I am not saying that the user would get banned. I am saying the server just forces them back to the character select screen. And no, it isn’t a free pass. The behaviors will be repetitive enough for users to report it and Arenanet to be able to identify it. You talk as if this is the Dark Ages of MMOs. They can see every input you make with a kittening timer.

Zeivu.3615

If you have played Guild Wars 2, by now, you should know that most users, when it comes to bosses in the game, like to idle around the ground when defeated, hoping someone will revive them. However, their very presence scales the fight and just makes things harder to accomplish, especially when there is a timer involved. Such an occurrence tends to make a toxic PVE experience and I believe that a forced waypoint rez will also discourage any leaching. Way-pointing by itself does not remove you from participation credit of an event, for people who regularly play HOT maps.

Is it possible to force dead users to rez their closest found way point after being dead for more than twenty seconds? If the user doesn’t have any funds for a forced waypoint on them, they should be sent to the nearest major city free of charge.

New Infinite Tools, why not separately?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

You are paying to circumvent the recurring karma cost, freeing up inventory space and the general goldsink that the breakable harvesting tools provide. That Karma can be used for other things, while being able to earn more items that provide a legitimate advantage.

I see nothing wrong with the new unlimited gathering tools. They are as mentioned numerous times, available for karma if you don’t want to spend the gems.

And I as well have several sets of the different types of unlimited gathering tools and still do not mind.

I just put the extra sets on alts so I don’t have to worry about switching the tools before switching tools.

Zeivu.3615

Convenience? Accelerating the ability to get certain achievements and ascendeds is Convenience to you? But this argument is for another thread. Them being unlimited also circumvents a great gold sink….

Oh kitten. Did the watchwork pick debacle teach them nothing?

I don’t see there being an issue here. We have items that do what these do in game – they cost karma.

The only difference between these and those is that these are unlimited, which is a convenience. Nothing more, nothing less.

This is no different than the original, basic unlimited tools in comparison to orichalcum gathering tools. You can get the same thing in game for gold or karma, but you need gems if you desire the convenience.

And that’s fine.

Now, do I wish we could buy and stack “like” gathering tools up to ‘x’ number of charges? Yes, that would be nice. Highly unlikely, but it’d still be nice.

The primary issue with the watchwork pick was there wasn’t anything else comparable, in game or otherwise.

I can confirm this. There is something about the minions being present that drastically increases it’s health regen. I had to die and re-enter the boss fight due to my minions interesting inability to drop dead themselves in the fight.

I actually had a lot of trouble with this boss. I think it is bugged. It may have been related to my build – I was using a necromancer with a lot of minions.

I did the thing where I had to stand in the white circle and use the special skill. The boss would lose about 75% of its health, but then it would regen back up to full health before I could use the skill again. I did this for 15 minutes (!!!) before I decided to try killing off as many of my minions as I could. After I did that, the boss stopped regenerating to full, and I was able to kill it after 2 or 3 uses of the skill.

My guildmate said the boss should’ve died way quicker than that, so it looks to me like there is some problem with the minions.

And guys, I have to ask you: why are you not angry at Master of Peace??? Hm?

He hid the Egg and no one didn’t know about it. And the Egg was very important, but he hid the Egg and we could see it when he was in his agony. Yes, this was HIS secret and just very important situation forced him to show the Egg….

After Aerin’s death, he disappeared and he knew about the Egg, but we had to have a vision from Pale Tree and we had to have speak with Ogden until we knew about the Egg, and “honorable” Master of Peace didn’t say anyone, anything.

So why do you have pretension to Caithe, that she didn’t say that she killed Wynne, she traveled into Heart of Maguuma, she hid the secret of Sylvari.

If she would say, everyone would be against Sylvari. Asuras would make a lot of experimences. She cared about her kind. She saved us from a war Sylvari vs other races. But Caithe and other Firstborns prepared us, showed their trust towards allies.

You should accuse other too, for example:
Logan- he left other members of Destiny’s Edge and then Snaff and Glint died. And Destiny’s Edge stopped work. Because he had “a duty”.
Pale Tree- she hid a lot of secrets. And she hides 2 unknown Firstborn. She told us about the Egg, when she was not in good condition. Like Master of Peace.
Rytlock- he came from the Mists and he didn’t say anything what he saw exactly.
Marjory- she ls3 part2wants make something, what could have the bad consequenses. She didn't want listen to the Commander, and she wants use Lazarus for her interests.

Anyway, this thread began from Master of Peace and he became this avalanche of lies. He is guilty, that other Masters were in danger.

He said: “No. My journey has only just begun. You will tell my people that I am well and that I continue onward?”~Gates of Maguuma. He wanted to be the Egg’s bearer, he wanted come to Tarir, without our knowledge.

We knew EVERYTHING from visions, and nobody didn’t think, that he/she had to say about that. But seriously, if he would trust us, we would have not problems with Caithe, with anyone. A thread about Caithe was caused like a domino effect.

Everything started from Master of Peace. Haha, this is ridiculous “of Peace”… Master of Peace provoked a war.

The Master of Peace did fail looking for a safe place for the egg, yes. We knew he went into Glint’s lair, yes. We know that he obtained her last egg, yes. We know that every sentient life on Tyria would want it, yes. But to say he knew everything, wanted to be the egg bearer, and that he provoked a war is grasping at straws. If he was lying, wouldn’t Kaz be able to sense it like she did with the dying Zepyrhrite?

Doing things in the name of love is not for the greater good. Not by any means.

The messenger in your post is not chaotic good, hes neutral good at best (but really with just a single sentence describing him its effectively impossible to categorize him appropriately anyway). Caithe is absolutely not neutral, she is very much good aligned. Just because you don’t like her doesn’t change that. Just because you disagree with her methods doesn’t change that.

If she was neutral she would have always acted towards her personal best interest. Instead we see her multiple times acting against her personal interest (killing her sister is a big giveaway) in order to advance what she considers the greater good. There is no way she is a neutral character.

If she was interested in the greater good, she would have ended Faolain after slaughtering those centaurs instead of Wynn. She and Wynn both knew that she only cared for power and had a chip on her shoulder for their Mother. Instead, she let Faolain live, then she formed the Nightmare Court, which later on, caused numerous more deaths and atrocities. Caithe’s judgement is horrible.

Blinded by love. Happens in stories all the kittening time.

Again none of this points to Caithe not working for the greater good, none of it.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

The reason you can’t give away the Core game is that purchasing Heart of Thorns only provides one Serial Key. You can use that key to create a new account, or use the key to ‘upgrade’ an existing account.

It’s perfectly fine to give away a Serial Key that has not been registered; it’s not against the ToS.

It’s not against the rules, but it isn’t necessarily a good idea to buy the code from a third-party. Unless you buy an unopened, physical copy or get it from Steam, there really isn’t a way to find out if the code was used or not until you enter it.

Why I feel guild representation is not a good idea

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zeivu.3615

Zeivu.3615

Okay, Representation has got to go. Discuss. Being able to be apart of a bazillion guilds takes away from what being part of a guild is supposed to mean. I loved the system in GW1 where it locked your account to a singular guild, it built SO much loyalty and strengthened the guild community.

I don’t understand who thought that this would be a good idea.

It especially hurts WvW. And yes while you can command that your guild members either represent 100% of the time or get kicked, this prevents smaller guilds from forming and growing. At least in WoW you have to bind your specific character to the guild. In Gw2 any of your toons can be guild hopping anywhere. The issue needs to be forced.

The name of the game is guild wars, and you can be on anyone’s side at anytime…

Take off your rose-colored glasses. Guilds in GW1 were full of vampiric politics by the time Cantha came around.

It builds on the mechanics that HoT brought to the table and is full of spoilers. Of course it’ll need the HoT to play it. Plus, newer users are paying less than half of what many pre-existing players for it all. The core game is now free. Stop kittening. You are only making yourself look like an ungrateful piece….

It’s free content and they want to produce higher quality work. Good enough trade-off for me.

Free is relative.

Nope, it was included in the sales pitch, that we would need HoT for LW3, so for me it’s included in the price and why HoT is a DLC season pass, and not a true xpac in my personal view. I too was disappointed in what we got story wise, and I must stress story wise. I was hoping for a longer story in this release. The map is nice, I’ve not don’t all of it yet and have some exploring to do. He needs gliding (with leyline gliding would be good for the new map) and optional mushroom jumping. So he should visit the HoT maps for the mastery Points.

For unlocking the masteries he also meeds exp. Exp he can get from the HoT maps or the “new map”. (I think the new map give much more exp that HoT).

You should have had a waypoint unlocked on the airship. If so, open your map and waypoint back in.

The chak are insects. Primordus’ minions are much more brimstone-y. If they were his, they wouldn’t burn so easily. Mordremoth is dead. Anything tied to his will doesn’t really work so well anymore, especially being cut away from it’s original, biological source of the blighting pods/trees. She explains that it does something to the magical energy output, though she is currently unsure at the moment, as she doesn’t have anything to measure it. I wouldn’t be surprised if the chak organs does something to permanently strip magic from the world, or at least dilute it.

In HoT, she explains the Novans were particularly interested in studying Primordus. After GW:EN, it is understandable that this dragon would be their primary focus. It would make sense for them to have something that could track the beast inside their lab.

Braham was just blowing off steam and the death of his mother still has him furious and used it as a means to a somewhat decent end. The massive amounts of displaced magic energy has caused the other Elder Dragons and their minions to grow more powerful, which was the point of stating this. After Zhaitan’s death, we learned that the magic energy doesn’t leave the world with them; It disperses back into the world to be reclaimed.

The original purpose of the bloodstones was to soak up all excessive magic in the world, but there is/was not enough materials to create more. We can only hope Glint’s Offspring can handle the excessive load.

Speculation on the significance of Taimi incubating the chak organ?

Wild theory here, but the chak organ isn’t being affected by the blighting pod liquid, which leads me to believe it can’t be. (Yes it’s just an organ, but still.. why so much focus on that if it meant nothing?)

Did Taimi discover that the chak are actually minions of Primordus while we were off in Bloodstone? Is that how she came to the realization that Primordus has “reemerged?”

And is that final statement about Primordus a hint or just a red herring?

Thoughts?

We have Brann wandering off in the mountains and foreshadowing of Jormag, Primordus activity, and the already existing hints at a direction towards Kralk?

Why are we getting so many directions towards these three dragons? Is it a plot device to keep people guessing?

This is a crazy theory, but it seems strange that we have all of these events relating to the known elder dragons that are left, but nothing is going on with the deep sea dragon? I’m still wondering if all of these aren’t just events to keep the element of surprise for our next dragon target to be the deep sea dragon. Nobody expects it because it seems to be intentionally kept out of the story. (Is this the dev’s not including it because they haven’t really put that much thought into the deep sea dragon, or have they and this is their way of keeping it a surprise?)

Edit: Lazarus did appear to have made his followers blow up the bloodstone. But he doesn’t seem to care about any of the mortal races. He said he had plans for something more noble, whatever the hell that is. Could he have had it destroyed so he could use the magic to try and take on one of the dragons himself? He thinks himself a god and he cannot claim the world on his own with all the dragons floating around.

Okey go hardcore, 3 Dragons in the same time ! hop hop hop !

ps : So that Lazarus guy is the big bad ? i guess all Gw1 vet are saying things like :" oh you’re back ? well brings back my old sword and here we go…again !"

you all must feel nostalgic no ?

Oh and i can’t wait to face Primordius of course ! even if my fav one is Kralkatorrik ( as a Charr its obvious i guess ).
