Those look cool and everything. Would love to have these animations over the current ones. (Yeah, I didn’t play any of the betas, but I’ve youtube’d enough to know the current ones are ugly – to say the least) And I’m sure you would be able to come up with charr and norn ones as well.

The argument of STEALTZHROS has changed to OP SINCE IN META – mainly stemming from say Magic Toker and his playstyle.

It’s kind of like in LoL, during a tourny some guy on the winning team uses champion X. After the tourny, every single game has someone playing champion X on both sides. In a way it’s nice because, if you stuck to w/e champs you were mained, you will be able to roflstomp them with so much ease. Because hey, the champ might be the same, but let’s be real, they’re not that guy from the tourny.

Nerf human elite OOOOPPPPPPPPP
Always thought that SB was snitched and soldered into our 2nd slot, leaving us really with 1 slot of choice which will be the main build.
At DrD reveal, saw vault, and automatically thought “maybe staff can compete with SB for the 2nd slot…” – And then reality spanned back in, staff didn’t turn out so well from what I’ve read (despite DrD seemingly getting a positive overall review in the current official thread).
Kind of want to bump this, since this is kind of the unofficial topic about DrD…
How is it, truly, after the BWE3?
What I got out of the other more official thread is that people are mainly happy about it.

Yeah, a mesmer failed to lock me down today, I was able to stealth on one of his clones, he stealthed and likely stood still cause you know “he can’t see me, he doesn’t know where I am huehuehue” A nice backstab downed him.
Thieves have become that rare that people don’t know how to handle them and cry for more nerfs.
Pretty sure people standing still and eating backstabs was always an issue.
Would you say this ability is fair?

I wonder. What part of this Warrior is derivated from Thief?
I always thought the Thief’s role in a group is to finish off the weak links, or to ‘assassinate’ certain key targets, using stealth to get in close in order to do so. This guy does just that without the use of stealth. Edit from 1200-1500 range as well…
Sure the ability is bugged to hit twice rather once as it should, the damage is still pretty high IMO, and it’s on what, 6s recharge? Less?
From what I’ve noticed in the video, it’s like every ~20 seconds he can do that, since he has to pop a signet to get max adrenaline.

From all that I’ve been reading, it seems like the spec line is the go-to acro line. If you need acro line in your build, take DD line instead basically.
Only interesting thing that seems to have surfaced up is that one of the dodges does a leap finisher, so you have access to stealth via x/P’s blinding powder and the dodge.
D/D spamming death blossom paired with one of the dodges seems to gotten a bit more potent.
Everything prior to this line coming out, still stands.

2 days ago, none of them had a upscale arrow, one of them had a twilight. Warrior, enge, and a ranger. Please don’t say they are bad roamers, because they are not.
Yeah a forum full of thieves don’t know better about the class than you – and the guy with the twilight.
Please read, I observed this fight from a tower in WvW, and yes i don’t know much about thieves, just the examples i see before me, and when i see this “underpowered” class solo 3 players it makes it appear not underpowered at all.
Besides your in game experience you can probably find 1vX matches for every class. They don’t say much, besides that the recorder got lucky getting that in the footage – that or it took months of trying to get it… Anyways…. one instance doesn’t prove anything – something that’s taught in most science/stats/probability classes in school.
If the guy could go back and keep reproducing 1v3 and keep winning like 80% of the time over the span of like 100 fights, then yeah, something is up.
Zero, I am winning 1v1s again. Also, denying stomps is a total thing =D But then again… I play kinda crazy, idk if people can use my build safely since everyone I know says Berserker is worse than Marauder (but I like my 20% damage boost).

That ArenaNet thinks we can survive on stealth and evasion alone says a lot about how out of touch they are with the realities of PvP.
Well, they’re kind of in touch and have their own accepted reality. That being that thief is a great +1’er and decapper. So, no need in durability outside of evades and stealth since the thief shouldn’t be fighting much.
@Amante.8109: so what would it be then? Another warrior?
Think of other games that have a “thief”… Most of the time they have great passive defenses relatively on par with other classes.
Thief has a little too much emphasis on surviving via dodging or stealth. Take a look at other games and how the “thief” functions there, they aren’t another warrior.
Or how about just rerolling and killing everyone with their own professions. Because that is balance.

Plus if anymore QQ’ers die in the crossfire, they will do what they do best – go on the forums and QQ and get the class nerfed. Eventually thief will be decent again. May take some time but I think this is the most solid course of action for bringing thief on par with other profs (or, well, bringing other profs on par with thief)

Overload of complaints and feedback. I may dislike most of the changes “he who knows his name” made recently but a part of me reminds me that someone has to save DH and Tempest on top of thief and DD but something like this any dev could have made happen. What are you doing behind your forum posts?

They will always be OP as long as stealth and unaware people exist. Don’t need numbers to prove that. Plus as long as Magic Toker keeps playing in leagues, he will be the justification that we’re meta/op.

I think it’s that they’re happy with the changes.
There weren’t any substantial buffs or reworks. (Well, the change between trait lines to spec lines… But that was more of a shuffle of things along with somethings being removed and somethings being made baseline rather than a full-on rework.)
There have been a relatively steady stream of nerfs.
So yes, the thief is weaker than it was 1.5 years ago…. But it’s still stronger than what it will be in 1.5 years.

It would start with an announcement that a Humongous Balance Patch is coming in which they will re-work all the less desired traits/skills of all of the classes.
Proceeded by a stream beforehand about their thoughts on balance and what will/won’t be changed.
And the rest is what you guys are saying – hopefully, or it could be another 20% damage increase.
And of course a stream after release to talk about the changes in a bit more detail.
