I tried searching this, but no luck. A lot of times, while fighting Vale Guardian, he randomly runs out of the circle and vanishes. Then, about 20 seconds later, he reappears fully heals and starts the fight over. This has been happening to us for a few weeks.
Is this a known issue being worked on?
just some things i wanted in GW2 from the start
OMG, I want those boots AND that hair.
We’ve been asking for pants since the game launched, but it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting them anytime soon. Even the stuff that_shaman data-mined and Dulfy posted, is still all the things we’ve been asking for LESS of. =(
I love this game, but I get really sad about the armor sometimes.
IIRC there won’t be new raids with the initial release, but the Raid Team IS working on more to add
Ambush looks really cool! I’ll have to work on Chuka and Chamawat soon.
I really like the Shadow weapons (I’m using the Staff as we speak), but I’d like something more similar to the Merciless, just really dark. (The Shadow have those really pale accents on them).
I hope I used the proper format in the title.
I would like some weapons that are a really deep, glossy black. We have a few light black weapon collections that are cool, but deeper would be awesome. To give an idea of what I mean, the weapon in my picture is black (Merciless Staff), but I like a weapon that is as dark as my chest armor. Thanks for reading!!
My complaint is that all the new, female faces look very angry. I keep messing with sliders, but I can’t seem to fix it. =(
I was told elementalists would be getting swords in HoT too though. To the point of people telling me Anet had “unofficially confirmed” that was the case. Then of course they got warhorns instead.
It’s possible they changed their minds over time, it’s also possible someone made it up. Either way I wouldn’t trust rumours. Or at least I wouldn’t make any plans about which weapons to get, or get really excited about what’s going to happen until it’s official.
I’m not sure how accurate this is, but I had read somewhere that we were supposed to get swords with HoT, but the Warhorn stuff was fully completed first because there was still some work needed on the sword spec.
Thanks again for this, Linsey and Team!!
It’s most likely said by someone really powerful- I think it is the voice of Kormir.
Livia is insanely powerful and extremely long lived.
It sounded like Livia
It’s that voice at the end, really who it sounds like?!
squeals
I think that’s Jennifer Hale (aka, Commander Shepard).
The woman at the very end sounded like Mari Weiss (if you know who she voiced/voices).
It’s that voice at the end, really who it sounds like?!
squeals
It looks like Orr with a Canthan boat!!
That amount of Dishonor essentially bans them for the entire season. I doubt they’d care if they were banned from the main game or WvW.
The book that takes place right before the game makes it pretty clear she loves him too. I don’t think Anet is retconning that, I just think there’s a reason she’s acting like she doesn’t love him that hasn’t been revealed yet.
Thanks for taking the time to do all this Linsey.
I have a question/suggestion: Would it be easier for you if the teams started coming up with more uses for existing items, rather than adding so many new ones?
hah, try light armor.
i have bin trying to make a character with skin tight trouwsers, all i get are skirts and dresses.
one or two of them look a bit like it but there is always something flapping behind my characterYep, couldn’t find a plain trouser skin that covers everything either, so this had to do:
The closest we can get are the Light Ascalonean Dungeon pants (for females). Even then, there’s a mini skirt/jacket bottom attached. The male version is just pants though and almost all my light human males wear them.
IIRC, in the reddit AMA for Flashpoint they said the announcement would come with episode 6
Hair with “physics” like vanilla ones please.
I agree with this. I came in to say I wish they’d update some of the older hairstyles to have improved physics/animations.
I also think ALL the Human/Norn hairstyles should be available across both races.
I like the idea, but I think they just intended for us to rebind that key instead.
They really do need to add in some type of exchange or allow us to gift out duplicate items. I also have the Permanent Self-Style Hair Kit and am sitting on 19 on the single use versions. I’d like to exchange them or send them to friends or Guild Mates.
I think June is Pride month in the states too.
That’s an awesome idea! We need more ways to use existing materials, rather than just having them pile up on us.
I don’t have motion sickness, but I also want the camera issue fixed. It’s so frustrating to be in a raid or some other fight, adjust my camera to best suit me in the fight, and then have it constantly move so that I have to keep resetting it.
I like that they’re making more of the hairstyles interchangeable between the Norns and Humans. I’d love for my humans to have access to that awesome Norn braid.
One thing I would really appreciate, is if they would go back to some of the old hairstyles and improve them. An example would be that really long Norn ponytail, that likes to stab through female Norns.
+1 to this awesome idea.
Would this be easy for the Devs to do? It seems like all they’d need to do is copy the existing weapons and then alter the color. However, I don’t know much about game development so maybe it isn’t so easy.
Here’s what Kerstein actually said:
Posted 29 August 2011 – 04:21 AM
It is helpful to take Eric’s full statement into account. He mentioned that there will be no Guild Halls on release as we want to make Guild Halls a great experience and not just a “place”. We will introduce player housing at some point after launch, and at that time we will also implement guild halls.
That post was made on 29 August 2011, a year before GW2 launched. Accordingly, I can’t imagine it constitutes “proof” of any sort of “promise” made about the actual game. In beta, we were told that we would have to grow our own dyes (a 3 day process during BETA); ANet dropped that because things change — what’s worth planning for today might not be worth implementing tomorrow.
At other times, ANet employees have said they want to do things that encourage players to group together; player housing does the opposite.
I can’t imagine that an MMO company would ever completely abandon the idea of player housing. All the same, I can’t imagine that it’s likely to happen for GW2, at least not anytime soon, let alone soon™.
I’m not too sure if some of your post was directed at me or, but I wanted to clarify my thoughts just in case I was confusing people.
When I said I was happy for proof, I just meant proof that an Anet person said that was something they actually wanted and not just something a player misinterpreted. I realize it isn’t proof we’ll actually get it. I definitely don’t view it as a promise.
That being said, I’m still hopeful. I have fun with housing systems in other games, so I’d like to see how GW2 would include this function. I also think that introducing personal housing could help revitalize crafting by adding new items to craft and making them available to sell on the TP or gift to friends and/or guild mates.
I agree that it would need to be in an instance for the most part. Something similar to the little dimensions in Rift would probably work best in this game too.
I am both excited that there’s proof it was said and depressed that it still hasn’t happened =(
Please please please make a greatsword skin that looks like a scythe. A staff scythe doesn’t fit.
Personally, I’d rather a Scythe be its own weapon, like when the Dervish used it. But, I have to ask, how does it not fit as a staff? It’s literally a staff with a blade.
At the very least, I wish they would release the gloves and shoes from a lot of the outfits as individual pieces. Some of the outfits have really cool ones (like Marjory’s new outfit) and Anet has said before that those particular pieces weren’t as hard to make.
They should adjust the price further, for those that already own the Lich Outfit too.
I could be wrong, but I think that’s where the Druids lived. Or part of it.
Scythe staff, the weapon – not the skin, is obtainable via MF, chances to get it are at least on par with chances to get a precursor. Few weeks ago I spent around 600 gold on rares, over course of few days, I was trying to get Legend and Lover, I got Lover but instead of Legend I got Scythe staff weapon that I sold for 3570 gold…I had crazy luck that day because I got lots of exotic weapons as well ( around 80 gold after sold on TP). Since then I spent around 200 gold on MF gambling and got really just yellow junk and few exotics…In my guild few were thinking I was joking when I linked the Staff since they also thought it cannot be obtained via MF – but obviously it can… https://s22.postimg.org/uan9ihfgh/Capture.jpg
Thanks Stargift!
The Scythe used to have two separate entries on the TP, with minimally fluctuating prices. I noticed the second entry right after that thread discussing Halloween items being added to the Mystic Forge by mistake. That’s why I was asking for confirmation about whether or not the scythe was obtainable in other ways or not.
I know you can buy the staff off the TP, but is it actually obtainable by other means? I remember that it was theorized that it was in the Mystic Forge, but I never saw confirmation.
I mean this Scythe Staff, just to be clear: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Scythe_Staff_Skin
Are we able to he Halloween Scythe (staff) this year?
I’ve been wanting that armor for so long.
I just hit mine today without realizing it too. Out of all the things that Anet has done, that I’ve disliked, this is the ONE thing that has made me upset enough to not play.
My favorite thing about the game, is the AP/Collection stuff. I like to try to do as many as I can and I use them as goals for myself. That 10 AP may not seem like much, but it adds up fast. It’s a disappointing loss, for no legitimate reason.
I’ve been working on this in WvW. However, no matter how many times I defend a camp (whether it be from NPCs OR Players), the ticker won’t go past 170.
I guess that’s why they removed all the other lower versions of items you could upgrade to the better versions. Oh wait…
It’s a currency, not an item. They will never let you upconvert normal relics to pristine relics.
It’s also the only currency, besides silver and copper that has an upgraded version. But, unlike silver and copper, it doesn’t automatically upgrade to the next highest currency as you collect it.
I wish we could convert the regular relics into Pristine relices
That is never going to happen because if they allow that then they might as well just remove pristine relics entirely.

Ok, I’m glad someone else saw this. I had an Anomaly pop up in my Guild Hall (Gilded Hollow) and thought I was just crazy.
This is actually the biggest reason why Anet SHOULD do this. If it’s so hard and time-consuming for them, why not have the players do it and save them a ton of time. All they’d have to do is check the finished product.
It turns out that ANet’s also addressed this — it turns out that, at best, players doing concept art don’t save them much time; at worst, it costs them more time. (As a bad analogy, parents don’t always think it’s helpful to have their six year-old kids ‘help’ with painting the walls.)
I still think ANet should spend some of their advertising dollars on funding a few art contests, even if they can’t promise us we’ll see direct versions in the game. I think it would be useful for them to see the sort of stuff the community would like to see.
tl;dr volunteers might not reduce ANet’s workload, but I’d still like to see them make it easier for fans to have some influence over the general direction.
Oh, I misunderstood. I thought the players would actually MAKE the armor, not just design it. I figured if the skilled players made good armor, then ANet would just have to devote time to testing it, instead of more time to design and make it themselves.
I don’t see how the players can actually make the armor, unless they have access to all the tools that ANet has and a similar test environment. Anything short of that is going to mean that ANet employees are going to have to go through each asset individually, even before QA takes a look. At that point, they aren’t “volunteers,” but unpaid employees, which aren’t free (they are obviously ‘cheaper’ since they don’t get benefits or salary, but they still have to be trained and supervised).
I’m sure that there are artists out there as skilled (or perhaps more skilled) than some of the ANet artists. That doesn’t mean it’s faster to have them do any prep work.
I told you that I misunderstood what was stated. I thought the workshop would be a program kit that allowed players to actually make the armor and submit it to Anet for review/approval.
I figured it would be faster, because the amount of players capable of using/learning to use that type of program would far surpass the amount of actual employees that are assigned to do that type of work for the game.
Compensation could be done in so many ways. It could be as simple as a line of text giving credit to the designer or a set amount of gems per accepted Armor Set. It could also be used as a way for Anet to scout new talent for their official team.
Doing this would also allow Anet to go back to having In-Game and Gem Store armors to increase their profits. Many of the people that complained about Gem Store armor, were complaining because most of the armor was only available in the Gem Store. This way, we’d be getting a pretty steady stream of both, while helping their bottom line.
This is actually the biggest reason why Anet SHOULD do this. If it’s so hard and time-consuming for them, why not have the players do it and save them a ton of time. All they’d have to do is check the finished product.

Anet has stated that making armor is one of the hardest things they do. Consider that there are 3 armor classes and 5 races and male/female, which means 30 versions. Sounds like a lot of work for a “volunteer.”
And you think Anet would make its tools for such available to everyone? Doubtful.
This is actually the biggest reason why Anet SHOULD do this. If it’s so hard and time-consuming for them, why not have the players do it and save them a ton of time. All they’d have to do is check the finished product.
Think of how many more armors we could get that didn’t clip with everything and represented various styles. And think all those happy Charr players with non-clipping tails.
Even the AC ones have a weird skirt thing attached to them. =(
I would kill for that Scythe. It’s the ONE Staff Skin that I need for my Collection, that I can’t actually get. I’ve got ten skins left to obtain and that one is taunting me. LOL
