How does the Battle in the Vault event start? Apparently on the wiki it said that some random event somewhere nearby had to fail to get ghosts to repopulate the crypt. This event has failed before and still no bueno. I haven’t see this thing start once.

I haven’t been in Stronghold for a while but decided to do it recently and noticed when doorbreaker’s are stealthed it still shows them as bugged in one spot while “technically” they are in stealth by, for example, good old stealth gyro. Then when the doorbreaker comes off of stealth it shows the original bugged critter teleporting to its new “current” location.
Now I didn’t notice this happening with the heroes when they were put into stealth, but it was still doing this with the doorbreakers which are still the most crucial aspect of this game mode.
I thought this game mode was removed temporarily awhile ago to fix this issue already.

Like you said reaper is one of the actually balanced professions atm. It has it’s strengths and weaknesses and due to that it is subpar below the meta. It works but not the most optimal and really shines when they player is good at this class. Is the condi aspect of the class good? yes. It’s fine, perfect even but the fact that something like diamond skin exists basically nullifies 80% of a nec’s kit with one trait. Fantastic. Other things need to be buffed on the nec, yes gs could use some love. Well of darkness should be scrapped, spectral skills need some attention and why does not a single corruption have a stun break aspect while all other skill categories have at least one (spectral w/ 2). Being perfectly clear, leaps and dashes bypassing chill and cripple are a must. I mean, I can’t express how many time’s death’s charge bypassing crippling effects has helped me (only i’d say make it evade attacks too like burning speed aha but one can only dream of such luxuries).
Basically, immobs and pulls are the least of our problems but some help in other areas will help the overall situation a bit.

Another build to tack onto the worst builds:
Old phantasm mesmer. Summon some phants and a duelist and do nothing. They would do the work no problem. And with that extra health on your phantasms, you couldn’t kill them before they got you. (yea and those days when all clones and phantasms not having los so the mes can cast them whenever)

Another good build:
100 nade engi. Now that was stupid fun.

Warriors are strong. Very strong. Same with thieves. Only thing is they either lack the knowledge of rotating and decaping (for thieves) and warriors just lack the survival capabilities in the current meta. Once a warrior’s access to a reliable condi cleanse, sustain and overall survival goes up, wars will definitely be meta.

Overall, it’s bad taste to afk and remember you still have the chance of gaining a pip even if you lose the match depending on the MMR spread of both teams and your team’s odds of winning beforehand.

So apparently, as the title puts it, if I use certain rings such as my infused vine of the pale tree or my crystalline band, or even others in my bank, they wont show in my inventory when i go to use the mystic forge to attune them. I have all the materials to do it and some rings will show up like the royal signet and even solaria but no dice with the others. Now I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong as I have the requirements according to the wiki. Is there some underlying bug that gating my gear from doing this? Does this happen to anyone else?

But I don’t because an ele is at a huge risk if he drops below 90%. So if a power class does that which isn’t too hard for them then conditions can be applied.
Tbh, if they didn’t have it they would die so much faster.

You do need to realize that it will only “possibly” hit that high if you get to 25 might and you have 25 vuln and that’s going to take quite some time. Not like we can keep the 25 might for long if so much as a clone taps our shoulder or a thief steals or god forbid another necro comes along and boop, its now a fat stack of weakness.
Need to realize that this game has always had specs that with counteract each other as well as synergize. It’s how team play in gw2 is formed. If a engi goes to a point that a necro holds, why do you waste your time? That’s like me going to try to 1v1 a diamond skin ele. Bang my head against a wall and eventually die regardless. So you have teammates +1 fights like this or rotate out so you can go somewhere else or hell just avoid that fight altogether and +1 another fight forcing a 4v5.
Basically this thread is like me coming on and going, I hate dskin eles because I can’t apply pressure as I lack the necessary power to break the threshhold through their sustain. It must be too strong. Yea I get annoyed, but I leave him and work around my weaknesses. Welcome to Gw2 Pvp.

tldr: Hotjoin is bad. Always has been. Spectator in hotjoin never should exist in the first place.
It should have always been, press a button to join match and it puts you on the team with less players and so on until the server fills up. Servers will then be 10/10 players only.
Spectate is fine in custom matches, sure watch those duels, custom matches are there for whatever the creator wanted in the first place.

BB was a teamfight oriented gm trait that was good and did exactly what necs need in teamfights. Gave great lf generation and healing while in shroud. Axing this trait to what it’s current state is totally goes against what we were trying to get out of in the first place, being a selfish class with minor team synergy.

GS works relatively well in teamfights, it just needs a few adjustments. Quite a few people have suggested making 5 a skillshot, removing the aftercast on Gravedigger, and speeding up the AA (with the same DPS).

If this happened I’d use the gs in pvp more. At the current state, its just not enough, damage is good but connecting it is what matters.

I’m now wondering if there are any plans in motion to provide the Necro with more robust team support reception, since people really seemed to like that about BB.

Could be a possibility as skills such as well of darkness is worthless. Gs #4 is like a better version of it on a shorter cd. So there’s a bunch of new stuff or updated stuff that can replace old useless things.

Not a good nerf. It was a good survival trait and even with it, power builds got taken down fast. Instead of nerfing it to no outside boons going towards it, it should have been “Grants life force or healing per unique boon” so as it doesn’t stack with each individual stack of might or swiftness like it was. Now, as stated, it’s mediocre to useless without spite.

If it’s like the current sinister stat setup, then it will be a 3 stat. If it was a 4 stat with vitality or toughness then it would too good. Sinister Reaper is pretty good and so would torment shatter mesmers to name a couple. Thing is sin works better in wvw as builds can be built to boost up their defensive stats such as vit and toughness to compensate through other means ( i.e. foods, armor, etc. )

CSGO does it right to an extent, when you queue up you’re committing to a match regardless of its outcome. If you leave, you have some leeway but if it’s too often then you get a match cool down for a duration of time starting with 30 min and increasing from there.

You afk or leave a match, your account gets deleted. Watch how fast that would solve the problem. But I guess we can make do with Dishonorable. Need to make it harsher with competitive cool downs or something at the least and not like a minimal 5 min. but like 30 min. to and hour.

Stonghold you can rack up a lot as it counts on npcs..
Back on point, Reaper is strong but so are every other elite specialization. They all have incredible damage outputs or ways to sustain. Chrono for example has insane damage output and access to so much alacrity and slow. Tempest air overcharge hits extremely hard with a large AoE. More people have realized what dragonhunters are capable of this past beta weekend with tons of damage output and that the traps are pretty kitten good. Revs have amazing damage, mobility, sustain as well. Scrappers have amazing sustain and damage on power/Bruiser builds and their point control is top notch.
Overall now that people have started to grasp how these new classes work, the potential is being discovered. Reaper just was overhyped and still is so more people were exposed to that class more than the rest so they felt oh this is so much stronger. On a power reaper, I have to constantly kite in and out of fights to stay alive and burst targets. I can easily die to another power spec if I’m not careful.

Thieves are changing and you gotta go with the flow. I would still take any good thief in a party any day. Dare Devil is good but like thief has always been, the player needs to mechanically good to play it. They have the best mobility to decap and assist fights. You will never be a class that can brawl it out on a point in the thick of a fray. It never happened and it wont, it’s a skirmishing class that excels at fighting other dps classes. It flourishes at offpoint fights, that’s its role. A pure bred roaming class and it will always be viable and useful.

Could it be that people have just been using VP for so long that they can’t imagine a build without it? Or did Reaper give people a reason to sit in Shroud, and now they want to sit in Shroud and feel that they should be able to without baking Shroud traits into a Shroud build?

Are Necros in all aspects of the game (PvE, sPvP, WvW in its various forms) looking to stay in shroud as long as possible, either before or now with Reaper Shroud? Or do some use it more situationally to absorb bursts of damage or supplement rotations with an ability or two in Shroud at a time?

Also, someone said Reaper’s Shroud degenerates faster than Death Shroud. Is that true? If so, that just seems like a bug.

I use shroud for many reasons whether it be offensive or defensive. I go in and out of shroud a lot setting up for bursts before or after. Even when not using shroud as much as one might think I still find that VP is extremely needed. The degeneration on LF is pretty fast without (idk about what you said with RS degenerating faster but if that was a case it would be a serious bug, but I don’t think it is true).
VP is especially needed on power specs as it is your main source of defense besides kiting. You don’t was it degenerating more than it already it is when you’re taking pressure in fights.
This is all from a pvp perspective. You don’t need VP in pve at all if you dont want though I prob would for something like raids. It’s just most pver’s will run wells and in sour reap, other than VP, the other 2traits aren’t worthwhile.

BWE 3 Reaper Specialization Feedback Thread

Coming from someone who only played the Reaper all three beta weekends, I will say what I said on the reddit thread pertaining to feedback.
Its come a long way from first beta weekend. I like it but i still feel like gravedigger could use a 1 sec cast instead of 1 and a quarter. It would then feel a little more fluid with a combo from grasping darkness. I also feel grasping darkness flows better with a ground target able function (such as warrior gs3 for example).
As for the reaper traitline, people are finally realizing how good blighters boon is as opposed to the first weekend. This trait is good and because of this, it seriously outshines the other two GM traits. Now I know one is focused towards condi and its decent but BB is overall still much better on a condi build for sustain as were already doing good condi pressure without this traitline at all. As for reapers onslaught, this, this, idk exactly what to say. It needs some additions or something because as the RS currently stands, its attacks are already pretty quick and recharges are fairly low to begin with (this trait only lowers cds through “on kill” which is unreliable to begin with and it should just straight lower the recharge without a secondary function). This seriously needs something to make it worthwhile. I do notice we have no trait that allows us to do more damage to chilled foes. That maybe something you can tack onto a trait such as Reapers Onslaught to give it a little more leeway.

Overall, I love the mobility more than anything. Death’s Charge is great, this has really been polished into a well working skill ty Rob. Mobility is a key factor in bursty / power classes and I can finally play a massive high damage brawler spec on my favorite class.

To add to this, many feel this class is strong and it is. But that doesn’t make it unbalanced or overpowered. The other professions have very strong capabilities as well except many haven’t been interested in them or played them enough to notice. I don’t feel godly in anyway. I have to constantly be kiting in and out of fights to burst and stay alive. Overall I really wish the base necro gets some more love after HoT is released so that build diversity expands. This goes for all classes as well.

Glad you listened to the suggestion to CttB. Also like the trait changes to bring augury in line with the others. Another thing, thank you oh so much for removing the after cast icd on reaper shroud, flashing shroud is a great mechanic. Only thing I could say is I would like to see the shouts have some sort of baseline action by default even in if it only hits one person or none. This would greatly support shouts being used all around. Another interesting thing I saw was someone here suggested that NCSY be instant as well. This would definitely be a cool addition to counter play against blocks (for example like they said, during a gravedigger cast.) Overall, reaper is all i have played the past 2 betas and watching this class flesh itself out more and more each time, using different methods is awesome. Great job overall.

As long as work is being done to tone down the amount of slow output from chronos and that the continuum split is finally able to be destroyed is great (there needs to be solid counter play). One thing though, any clarification on the wells finally being distinguished as ally or enemy? For the last two weekends they have had ally rings on them regardless is if it is an enemy’s. Needs the red line for distinguishing.
