Not sure if this works with Account Bound(or exclusive) dyes, but do try.
Mystic Forge 4 of them and get another dye. No, you will not get any exclusive dyes out of it, but you will get a random rare dye, which wont be account bound(and can be sold or given to friends).

What you suggest:

Skill 1 – Necrotic Grasp
This Attack just feels very slow also it doesn’t fit the condition theme, that the rest of the Staff skills have, and only does very little power based damage. While it is a piercing projectile, that generates life force, this does not compensate for the very slow attack speed.

My suggestion: Make it be a guarantied Projectile finisher instand of just 20%. “Hammer Bolt” on Revenant Hammer already functions this way and has about the same attack speed and range. This would increase DPS as well as group support by reliably triggering combo fields.

What we will probably get:

Skill 1 – Necrotic Grasp
Reduced the range from 1200 to 300.

The fact that you made something as casual as collecting Cats for our Home Instance into something hardcore is plain disgusting. You are forcing everyone who loves Cats to do Level100 Challenge Mode just to get that Cat. Most casual players cant even get it or complete their Cat collection anymore.

For those who dont know, the newest Cat requires to eat an item that only drops from the Fractal 100 CM Chest.

Edit: Please get rid of the last Skirmish that appears at the top of the screen whenever we switch maps, it is annoying and often irrelevant. Maybe also get rid of the LFG that appears. I have not seen anyone use that LFG at all, only trolls putting insults there for all to see(such as “I pulled Chilling Fog on all your Keeps hahaha”).

If you have Kaiser Weapon Boxes from last year like me, that you did not open because you could not decide which Kaiser weapons to get back then, they have now been changed to Super Adventure Weapon Box(which gets the choice of a Kaiser Weapon or 8 Crimson Assassin Tokens).

This means that if you still have said unopened Boxes, you get to pick up to 16 Crimson Assassin Tokens immediately, and get to even choose a 2h Crimson Assassin Weapon.
(So please, dont call people hackers if you see them with Crimson Assassin Weapons, thank you).

Note that this also means you are renouncing to your Kaiser Weapons of choice from last year, but you can buy those from TP for a “affordable” price all year round, compared to Crimson Assassin Weapons which are Account Bound.

People which are left can be completely “new staff”, people which aren’t the original creators and they have completely different vision and passion. And personally, I am VERY afraid of those new people! They can completely change the game, the way it feels, the way story is told, the way Lore is continued, the way Story should be can be changed! We shouldn’t forget how many times GW2 went into modern issues (mainly lgbt and feminist movements) for some personal agenda members of GW2 have. Games should be games, not modern politics.

My favourite soccer team of 10 years ago does not consist of anybody who played back then anymore, they have been completely replaced by new players, some of which are promising or better, while some will be nowhere close to the legends like those in the past.

Another problem I have is lack of the skill updates, there is no reason for it, except low amount of passion for fixing disbalance.

I agree with that one. It is my opinion that Arenanet needs a better balance team and a better economist too

There is also a fact many features are already abandoned, we can’t forget dungeons and we can’t ignore the fact most features which are promised still aren’t done (legendary weapons, armors, etc.).

The Wii worked, the Wii U did not. Some old features get outdated, some new features do not fulfill what they were meant to. Some are replaced with newer features, some things are still in the work and may or may not work. That’s how the world works, nothing new.

There is also WvW which feels very abandoned. It feels like Anet doesn’t have enough passion for working on it, like they have lost vision for it, what it should be, how it should be played for us to really enjoy it.

Soccer, Tennis and Chess have not changed much during the past many many years. They are still fun to play as they are. WvW is a story-less, never ending war in the mist that restarts every week can be compared to such games. Some people do not enjoy Chess, and some will not enjoy WvW.

I am afraid they are doing everything with minimum amount of the passion and that scares me! Some do like HoT, some don’t. Tho we can all agree that it is different type of game, it’s different vision, different passion, different staff…and it personally doesn’t feel like Guild Wars universe.

Story is also a big alarm, it feels so lost, so rushed in some parts, so slow in some others, like they are buying time to create something for us, so they leave us with some useless drama to keep us “entertained”.

Also I feel like Guild Wars lost the touch of it’s original universe! Since the EotN it was suddenly only about dragons! Dragons, dragons, and dragons. And more dragons. And only dragons. That is not what Guild Wars universe should be about. Guild Wars has rich Lore, which isn’t even touched in Guild Wars 2. I ask myself, why?

80 years ago America was fighting the Germans in WW2. 10 years ago America was fighting a war in Iraq. Different times have different heroes, different enemies, different weapons, and different professions. In 250 years, we switched from Shiro Tamagochi to Mordremoth. We now have Greatswords, and Engineers. Gwen is dead and Taimi is our new Gwen(yes she starts as a kid in pre-searing, Taimi may grow up into the new Gwen over the next few years and so can Aurene, dont be surprised). Yes, Guild Wars changed over the past 250 years.

With all my heart I wish Guild Wars 2 is already done with dragons, at this point I don’t even care how we kill them, do we kill them, or will they destroy us. I just want that story to be over, so we can get new enemies, ones which aren’t connected or manipulated with/by dragons! I want new nemesis like Shiro was, or Abaddon, or White Mantle and Titans!

This is all pretty much big bias from me, but I must say it somewhere, I must put it out of my chest, because my dear Guild Wars doesn’t feel like Guild Wars, it feels like a World with no passion, with no vision. It feels lost, different and abandoned.

I don’t want History to be repeated. Because Anet already did leave one of their games

I’ll put it bluntly: Guild Wars is indeed dead, Guild Wars 2 is alive. You can live in the new world or die with the old one. A dragon came to burn the world, do you fight it back or simply sit down thinking back about how you once beat a puny Lich?

We’re wrapping up work on Episode 4 of Living World Season 3 and expect to launch it in February, hitting our normal cadence of a new episode every 2~3 months. I want to give a quick heads-up here on a few topics that I know the community is anticipating, things that will and won’t be bundled with this episode.

This release will include the promised fix to AB multi-looting. The fix is simple: you can loot each of the great and grand chests once each time you complete the meta, once per map cycle.

This release will also include a new, challenging group-farming spot for leather.

This release won’t include legendary armor. We’re getting close to completion, though, and may be able to ship legendary armor with the Ep5 release.

This release won’t include a skill balance update. As we did last time, we’ll ship the next skill balance update off-cycle from Living World releases.

My client stuck at 1 file remaining, 0%
It drops to 0KB/s after downloading the last file 32MB then I cant click the Play button.
Please fix.
Already tried -repair. This did not work.
Tried both 32bit and 64bit. Same issue.
I cannot login, I cannot play.

Checked with multiple players as well. Players who have bought the Bloodstone node previously do not see the Petrified wood node at the vendor. The others do.

New Worlds

I believe the World system should be designed with the following 3 main changes:
(Please note that all 3 changes must occur together for this to work)

1. Whenever a server population falls under a certain threshold that is about half of another server’s population, it should be completely MERGED with another server who also hit that threshold.
For example: Sorrow’s Furnace hits a 40%, while Fergusson’s Crossing hits a 30%. Jade Quarry is at 80%. Sorrow’s Furnace absorbs Fergusson’s Crossing completely and now becomes a 70% server. Fergusson’s Crossing gets deleted. The higher population world remains(in this case Sorrow’s Furnace).

2. Whenever a server population goes higher than a certain threshold, it should be offered server SPLIT. A new World is created and only those people of this server(and perhaps another server who also went too high) are offered to transfer to the new World for free. Of course, a visible cap is placed on how many more people can transfer to the new World, in such a way that people can monitor whether they can move their whole guild or not(83 spots left, my guild has 120 people, let’s not move). They have 1 week to do so. Also announce it early so people can plan ahead.
For example: Blackgate is completely packed full. A new World is now created named Mad King Realm. Only Blackgate people are offered to transfer to Mad King Realm, until Mad King Realm reaches a decent population size. The transfer is free, it cannot have a cost for obvious reasons.

3. Finally, to encourage people from Full populations to transfer out for free when given the option to do so, there will now be a lower CAP on the number of players allowed in WvW at the same time. This is important to ensure that people do move if they really want to WvW. To provide fair matchup, the 2 other worlds will also have said cap for that week.
For example, let’s say we currently have a 100v100v100 maximum number of people that can be fighting each other per map. Blackgate is Full. Blackgate is currently against Maguuma and Jade Quarry. Their matchup now becomes a 75v75v75 maximum number of people per map.
This is better for the matchup as well. For example, if Maguuma does not have the numbers to reach 100 people per map, but does have the numbers to reach 75 people per map, they can compete better against Blackgate at a 75v75v75 matchup, and Blackgate cannot just zerg their way out of it anymore too by winning through sheer numbers. When said Blackgate players get frustrated that they cannot enter WvW and have been queued for 5 hours, they do have the option to transfer out to the new world Mad King Realm.

After some weeks, things will average out to multiple servers that have been merged, new servers that have been created with a nice population, and old servers that kept a healthy population.

DSD's Minions?

Do you realize that every dragon has many minions out there?
But did you notice we have yet to see the DSD’s minions?
Or we have seen them, but dont realize that they are actually the DSD’s minions?

So Zhaitan had a lot of undeads walking around Orr, Mordremoth had Sylvari(and later also Mordrem), Primordus has had destroyers annoying us since GW1, Jormag has the corrupted, Kralkatorrik has the branded. This means that there’s some creature out there that are minions of the DSD.

The minions seem to have some form of “shared mind” type of connection among them(Sylvari having the Dream), destroyers were mentioned to be “of one mind” back in GW1, during Eye of the North story.

Then you realize there are Karka and Chak that look a lot alike, and fit this minion-archetype perfectly…

Back then, way before Dry Top was even open and we knew absolutely nothing about Mordremoth, I predicted that Sylvari were all minions of Mordremoth, and look how it turned out today.

Instant Crash on Login Interface

This is for my friend who is free to play(so cannot post on forums) getting “a serious error has occurred that prevents the program from…” when the Login screen appears.
She has been able to play GW2 until the patch on August 9th(i believe it was that date)

When trying any account on her PC, we get that error.
When trying her account on any other PC, it works.
Both have windows10.

I am guessing this is a PC problem. We are not PC Tech(just know a little), so we would like some help.

The personal score does not matter when it comes to who has more points. However it does matter when it comes to who has NO points.

See if somebody caps/decaps, they get points. If they revive someone, if they so much as tag someone that dies with skill#1(contributed to a kill), they also get points. If they kill Svanir as well(or whatever mechanic the map has) they also get points.

So somebody who has 150 points could have done less than someone who has 120 points(they just happened to tag more enemies with aoe), in that case the personal score does not say much. But somebody who has 0-30 point during a match, that person probably has not contributed to the team much if at all. It is also likely they fed the enemy team much with points from their death.

tl;dr
Personal score does not tell you who had the best performance in a match, but it does tell you who did NOT perform well(if at all) in a match.

This is a very strange bug that I have never encountered before in 4 years of GW2 until today.

Please see screenshot. The map is Dragonbrand Borderlands, and this is South East Tower.

The walls on the tower did not spawn on my client, while it spawned for all other players around me. This is not a culling issue, there was a total of 4 players around that tower and the regular amount of NPCs.

I could walk right through the walls(which are not visible on my screen/screenshot), and the other players around me saw me running right through the Fortified walls while they were catapulting it. I could also attack the npcs while inside, and they would attack me back, but if I moved back through the wall, they would just get stuck where the wall would be(hitting an obstacle). So this rules out lag, as there was no rubberbanding and there was communication to the server.

I could not go up to the Lord of that tower, as you can see from the screenshot there is no stairs to go up…the stairs did not spawn.

This is not an exploit. I do not know how to replicate this(nor would I tell anyone if I knew). This is just a bug report on a somewhat game-breaking issue.

This might be related to the last feature patch where Arenanet decided to make WvW walls more “visible”(more like now invisible and intangible…), as I do not WvW often enough other than doing dailies to have noticed something like this before.

I think this bug needs attention and FIX URGENTLY. I am not hacking and people are thinking I used some kind of hacks to do this and are likely to report me. Moreover, I cannot tell whether I am walking through a wall or not(so as not to exploit it) because
OMG THE WALL IS INVISIBLE!. How would I know if there is an unbroken wall there?

Edit for additional info:
I could not click-target the wall, but if my friend called the wall as target and I press T, I get to see the wall’s HP bar while still walking right through it.

You can see this screenshot is OLD:
Guardian Greatsword Symbol was still on #2, and WW on #3, and Leap on #4. How sore we(guardians) were the day Arenanet swapped them around(all that muscle memory confused!). They never moved weapon skills positions again after this for 4 years, lesson learned!
One look at the WvW Interface should tell you much. Fort Aspenwood used to be the Blackgate back then…I am still on FA after 4 years.
You can also see from the MiniMap, we used to have Darker Red, Blue, Green icons back then…I never liked this change. Now they are the same color as the commander tag, and i have to look carefully on the whole map to see my commander sometimes.
Supply did not show up at the top, nor did it have any icons at all.
Tome of Courage still existed.

Second Screenshot is a week later. My first character(still active and still my main!) reached level 80, fully geared with lvl80 exotics too(ascended did not exist back then), with amazing looking skins(first 2 weeks nobody had any shinies, and AC Greatsword used to be considered one of the few shinies, nor did we have gemstore exclusive skins).
FA was still treating the other servers nicely… Oh and Orbs still existed in WvW, not this new Ruins/Monuments thing.

With GW2 4th Birthday approaching, I would like to request the 2nd Year Birthday present “Birthday Blaster” to become Account Bound instead of Soulbound.

No Revenant can have it, since none are even 1 year old yet, and nobody who changed main(and now plays Revenant) can have it before another 1 year and 3 months goes by.

This restriction also serves no purpose compared to other Birthday Rewards.

All my characters, old and new, can use the Mini Queen Jennah(s) which I got for Year1. They can also all use the Birthday Finisher I received for Year3, as well as whichever Free(AccountBound)Dyes I picked. All Titles acquired from Birthdays can also be displayed by any character, old and new.

I hope to see some amazing 4th Year Birthday Gifts, including special Decorations, or Scribe Recipes for Decorations(even Recipes became Account Bound by now!) for our Guild Halls. Surprise us!

Why Stealth cannot capture points??

The real problem is troll Thieves.

Scenario1: You are capping a point and there is no enemies around. Your own teammate, a Thief, but he is a troll. He spams stealth on you, completely stopping you or him from capping the point, until an enemy shows up to cap the point, at which point he runs away in a corner to recharge his skills/initiative. Once you kill the enemy, he(with recharged skills and initiative) puts stealth on you again. You never capture the point. Stepping out of range of his Shortbow blasts or Shadow’s Refuge does not work, because if you step out of the point to avoid his Stealth, you are not capping.

Scenario2: You are defending a point which is 1 tick away from being taken by the enemy. You and the enemy are both on the point contesting it. If you step out, the enemy caps the point. Your troll Thief teammate comes in and puts stealth on you the moment he sees you heal(not attacking). This scenario actually happens unintentionally(non-troll) more often than you think, specially in cases where you are downed and still contesting for as long as possible, the Thief puts Shadow’s Refuge on you and starts reviving you, but you lose the point because both of you went Stealth.

Why devs still allow this kind of nonsense in PvP is beyond comprehension.

Recently(since last patch), I have been unable to access certain instances of maps and getting the error in screenshot1.

For example, the current instance of Sparkfly Fen shows as IP:
64.25.38.118
And whenever I try to enter(taxi) into that map, I get the same error in screenshot1.
The map wasnt full, my friends can confirm as they all taxied into it.
When I try to pingplotter the IP of said map, I cannot reach it, see screenshot2.

But the current Sparkfly Fen instance I am currently in:
64.25.38.241
The map loaded instantly, I play just fine without even a trace of lag, and there is absolutely not even a trace of packet loss when I use pingplotter. See screenshot3.

This is stopping me from playing with my friends. This is also stopping me from entering PvP if I am unfortunate enough to land in a map/instance that is IP blocking me (the map keeps getting the error in screenshot1 and I end up with dishonor). There is clearly a problem on some of your servers. I am able to access some servers so it cannot be on my side having any sort of Firewall/ISP blocks.

Might include as well that I have WinAuth enabled on my PC as authenticator and I used “Remember this Network”, and never before has it asked me to re-enter any codes. But recently it keeps asking me to re-authenticate every few times I connect to GW2 (and NOT every time!) even though I am using “Remember this Network”. I am not sure this is related.

You need to fix your servers to let my IP in. Thank you.

Now the lore behind this sword: (skip if too long, just so you know I myself didnt read it)
Excalibur or Caliburn is the legendary sword of King Arthur, sometimes attributed with magical powers or associated with the rightful sovereignty of Great Britain. Sometimes Excalibur and the Sword in the Stone (the proof of Arthur’s lineage) are said to be the same weapon, but in most versions they are considered separate. The sword was associated with the Arthurian legend very early. In Welsh, the sword is called Caledfwlch; in Cornish, the sword is called Calesvol; in Breton, the sword is called Kaledvoulc’h; in Latin, the sword is called Caliburnus.
The name Excalibur ultimately comes from the ancestor of Welsh Caledfwlch (and Breton Kaledvoulc’h, Middle Cornish Calesvol) which is a compound of caled “hard” and bwlch “breach, cleft”.1 Caledfwlch appears in several early Welsh works, including the poem Preiddeu Annwfn (though it is not directly named – but only alluded to – here) and the prose tale Culhwch and Olwen, a work associated with the Mabinogion and written perhaps around 1100. The name was later used in Welsh adaptations of foreign material such as the Bruts (chronicles), which were based on Geoffrey of Monmouth. It is often considered to be related to the phonetically similar Caladbolg, a sword borne by several figures from Irish mythology, although a borrowing of Caledfwlch from Irish Caladbolg has been considered unlikely by Rachel Bromwich and D. Simon Evans. They suggest instead that both names “may have similarly arisen at a very early date as generic names for a sword”; this sword then became exclusively the property of Arthur in the British tradition.12
Geoffrey of Monmouth, in his Historia Regum Britanniae (The History of the Kings of Britain, c. 1136), Latinised the name of Arthur’s sword as Caliburnus (potentially influenced by the Medieval Latin spelling calibs of Classical Latin chalybs, from Greek chályps ? “steel”) and states that it was forged in the Isle of Avalon. Most Celticists consider Geoffrey’s Caliburnus to be derivative of a lost Old Welsh text in which bwlch had not yet been lenited to fwlch.341 In Old French sources this then became Escalibor, Excalibor and finally the familiar Excalibur.
Geoffrey Gaimar, in his Old French L’Estoire des Engles (1134-1140), mentions Arthur and his sword: “this Constantine was the nephew of Arthur, who had the sword Caliburc” (“Cil Costentin li niès Artur, Ki out l’espée Caliburc”).56
In Wace’s Roman de Brut (c. 1150-1155), an Old French translation and versification of Geoffrey of Monmouth’s Historia Regum Britanniae, the sword is called Calabrum, Callibourc, Chalabrun, and Calabrun (with alternate spellings such as Chalabrum, Calibore, Callibor, Caliborne, Calliborc, and Escaliborc, found in various manuscripts of the Brut).7
In Chrétien de Troyes’ late 12th century Old French Perceval, Gawain carries the sword Escalibor and it is stated, “for at his belt hung Excalibor, the finest sword that there was, which sliced through iron as through wood”8 (“Qu’il avoit cainte Escalibor, la meillor espee qui fust, qu’ele trenche fer come fust”9). This statement was probably picked up by the author of the Estoire Merlin, or Vulgate Merlin, where the author (who was fond of fanciful folk etymologies) asserts that Escalibor “is a Hebrew name which means in French ‘cuts iron, steel, and wood’”10 (“c’est non Ebrieu qui dist en franchois trenche fer & achier et fust”; note that the word for “steel” here, achier, also means “blade” or “sword” and comes from medieval Latin aciarium, a derivative of acies “sharp”, so there is no direct connection with Latin chalybs in this etymology). It is from this fanciful etymological musing that Thomas Malory got the notion that Excalibur meant “cut steel”11 (“‘the name of it,’ said the lady, ‘is Excalibur, that is as moche to say, as Cut stele’”).

Now the quest to actually obtain the sword: (Skip if too long)
Excalibur is an extremely powerful sword. If you managed to get the Rat Tail in the Land of Summoned Monsters and have access to both the Underworld and Overworld, then you’re in good shape. First and foremost, locate where your original airship is (ours was last left near Eblan, and yours is probably there as well). Your Hovercraft must also be acquired using the Hook on the original airship, and should be waiting near the cave west of Eblan. Once you have the Hovercraft attached to the airship, fly to the town of Mythril, which is located in the middle of the archipelago on the eastern side of the planet (head west from Eblan for a few seconds, then northward and you should run into it).
Drop the Hovercraft on the small island with the town, and then land the airship. Jump into the Hovercraft and head southward and eastward over the stones in the water to a small island holding a small cave. Within, you will find two Mini miners – one of them will give you Adamantite if you give him the Rat Tail you acquired in the Land of Summoned Monsters. Grab it, then head back to the airship via the Hovercraft, and then return to your Falcon.
Head back to the island where Agart is so you can re-access the Underworld with the Falcon. Once down there, head to the southeast corner of the Underworld and land your craft. Enter Kokkol’s Smithy and head to the second floor. Talk to the sleeping Smithy to make a menu appear… select the Adamantite and he will suddenly be awakened and run downstairs to work on a new sword for you (you’ll lose the Mythgraven Sword at this point). You will be able to obtain Excalibur once your set your first step on the moon. Once you’ve visited the moon, come back and he’ll cough up Excalibur, one of the strongest weapons in the game!

Now test that the quest is actually bug free

Honestly, just reading the lore and the quest(let alone creating/making/implementing/bugtesting it) is much longer than just drawing the sword. I hope you get the point. Gemstore weapons have no lore, no quest, no bugtesting, it is just art. Those who like the art buy it.

A new condition, opposite of resistance

We don’t need such nonsense.. like to copy all kinds of boons and make conditions out of them… This game has in my opinion already way too much Conditions.
Every boon and condition added to the game is for this game a Performance Eater due to the Stacking and the tons of calculations the systems need to make constantly for every single ticking condition stack every signle second

What this game needs instead is some proper balancing of the Conditions we have right now, some Boon and Condition reduction also if possible by merging Boons and Conditions where possible and accordign to these changes finally some proper rebalancing to the Base Health of all Classes to let the Health Values finally fit for the kind of much higher general DPS that everything deals now compared to the general Max DPS we were able to deal at 2012 when the Game release, where the Base Health Values were balanced around the fact, that all Classes were able to deal alot lesser Max DPS.

The Attribute System needs finally a serious overwork and should get merged where it fits to create soem free space for some better new defensive Attributes which can actually help to ENRICH the combat system of GW2 and make battls more fun, while actually also providing a better sense of Character Progression and making the attributes in themself more meaningful by giving them all DUAL EFFECTS.

Boons that could get merged:

Stability + Resistance = Resistance
Quickness + Swiftness = Quickness
Remove Super Speed, buff Swiftness to 50% and reduce accordingly the Durations by a few seconds
Protection + Aegis = Protection (First Attack blocked, then for the rest of the duration reduced damage)
Regeneration + Vigor = Regeneration

This way we would have:
Might
Fury
Protection
Regeneration
Retaliation
Quickness
Resistance

7 Boons are more than enough, now lets do the same for Conditions

Conditions that should get merged:

Blind + Weakness = Blindness (letting it work again more like GW1s Blindness 75% rate not to hit targets, Auto Block Effects won’t work while being blinded.
Immobilized + Chilled = Freeze (reduces Movement Speed and Skill Cooldown, completely stops movement, if stacks reach maximum of 10 Stacks)
Poison + Vulnerability = Poison (Damages per second, reduces Healing Potency by 20% and increases received damage pr stack by 1%
Cripple + Slow = Slow
Bleeding + Torment = Bleeding (or simple said, remove Torment, because its always a halfway Bleeding, just punishes Positioning what Bleedign currently doesnt)
Confusion + Taunt = Confusion (instead of taunt on you, taunt on nearest enemy ally, a confused enemy attacks its nearest ally and receives damage over time)

Fear gets removed as Soft Condition and turned into a Hard CC, Daze gets removed because its practically just Stun 2.0, theres no sense to have 2x exactly the same Hard CC
Under these changes, following Conditions stay:

Bleeding
Burning
Blindness
Poison
Slow
Freeze
Confusion

Conversion Scheme

Quickness < = > Slow
Fury < = > Blindness
Regeneration < = > Poison
Might < = > Burning
Protection < = > Freeze
Resistance < = > Confusion
Retaliation < = > Bleeding

Attribute Changes

Power = Increases Damage and Condition Durations now (merged with Expertise)
Toughness = Decreases Damage and Reduces incoming Condition Durations
Vitality = Increases stronger than before Maximum Health and improves Healing Efficiency for incoming and outgoing Heals (merged with Healing Power)
Precision = Increases Critical Hit Rate and Critical Bonus Damage (merged with Ferocity)
Agility = Increases Endurance Regeneration and Decreases Chance of Incoming Critical Hits
Courage = Increases Duration of your Hard CC Effects and increases your Boon Durations (merged with Concetration)

More than these 6 Dual Effect Attributes are not needed and absolutely easier to balance, than the current 9 we have.
No split anymore between Direct Damage and Condition Damage, Conditions don’t ignore Defense anymore!
If seriously that damage splitting should stay, then add:

Concentration Increases Condition Damage and decreases Durations of incoming Hard CCs

Health Balancing:

Remove this not fittign “by class type health balancing” and change over finally to an individual Class Balancing, which balances for every single Class individually its Base Health Values, this way becomes base Health a much more important and easier tzo balance factor in the whole class balancing that can be taken easier into consideration for making adjustments there also too, without that these adjustments directly would affect also two other classes!!!

There should be no Class anymore in general with only a cheap low Base Health Value of 11k. The absolute lowest Base Health should get raised to at least 13k, if not even 15k just to make this combat system of GW2 again more fun, so that battles will take a bit longer, than just 2-3 seconds of spamming skills.
Battles are only fun, when they last also a while, so that you clearly can say that you had effectively a battle…. no duels in history ever were won in like 2-3 seconds…

I think these changes will do the game balance for GW2 in its future alot better, than adding an opposite effect of Resistance would ever do..

Something like whsat the OP suggest, would make the whole combat system only much more boring, plain chaotic and in absolute NO WAY anymore enjoyable and fun at all.

These kind of balance changes I suggest here has Anet ignored to look at since Game release now for too long.
Wouldn’ they have ignored these kind of important balance factors all the time, then wouldn’t look my proposal here now like a huge game changer, but in fact would be a much smaller thing to change most likely, but if you naturally make permanently changes always only around skill effects, traits and rarely on upgrades, then it is naturally no miracle, when all the other things that need balancing in the meantime grow bigger and bigger over time, until adjusting and balancing them someday looks like a huge task to do …

Kills every extra damage per boon on you trait instantly, or any such trait that depends on number of boons/conditions on you/foe for reduced/extra damage.

1. Less people playing, therefore less people getting precursors dropped to sell. Less people playing also means less people going around crafting Legendaries to sell.

2. New Legendaries cancelled, therefore people are falling back on existing ones, and now buying them with the money they had saved up for the cancelled upcoming Legendaries.

3. Current temporary content(SAB) is providing absolutely nothing to do with Legendaries(precursors or t6 mats or other mats dont drop in SAB) and since it is temporary content that will be gone soon, people are concentrating on that for now, meaning decreased people working on Legendaries to sell.

Before you say they actually put effort into the newest legendary weapons…

Nevermore was a skin that was data-mined all the way back in 2013(see 2012), they just took it and decided it should be a legendary weapon. Aura and Footsteps added.

Astralaria’s aura is just a copy of Twilight but turned Black&Blue instead of Black&Red. Very dull Axe design without the aura.

I do give credit for HOPE though, specially for people who just cannot stand the sound/looks of Quip.

Unless it shoots out Tigers or something similarly impressive, the new Legendary Shortbow so far does not look promising. It resembles BL weapons so much and there are only 2 professions that can use Shortbow, one of which rarely even sees use in PvE, PvP or WvW.

Next Expansion. New Legendaries. Yes or No?

Let’s say tomorrow Arenanet announces the newest expansion(let’s call it Cantha for now), and advertises 2 new Legendary Weapons available to those who buy Cantha, would you be okay with that?

Given that HoT was advertised with 16 new Legendary Weapons, would you feel scammed that you now have to buy Cantha to get the 2 next Legendary Weapons that were once promised as part of HoT?

What if they make the 2 Legendary Weapons require materials/currency/masteries that can only be obtained in Cantha? Is that okay?

Before you say that this wont happen, let me remind you that Precursor Crafting was once promised in 2013 for the core game for which we paid, was then given to us under HoT for which we also paid. Plans change, and plans to make more HoT Legendaries also changed, and to include the newest Legendaries into the next expansion instead of HoT might be part of the change of plan…

P.S: This is about new Legendary Weapons (if) coming advertised with the next expansion, or new Legendary Weapons requiring things from the next expansion. This thread is not about Arenanet putting next Legendary Weapons on indefinite hiatus, there’s another thread for that.

Let’s say clearly to Arenanet whether we are okay with new Legendary Weapons(that were once promised with HoT) being advertised as part of the next expansion instead.

SAB temporary content - sincere question

Dear Anet,

SAB is content that GW2 players has been deprived of for 3 years, and is there one thing GW2 has been deprived of the past 6 months since HoT, it’s fresh content, and before that it went another 9+ months without content updates between end of LS2 and HoT launch.

What is the harm of leaving SAB in as permanent content for everyone to enjoy at their leisure?

You have yourself also acknowledged a lack of content lately and are moving teams around and neglecting development of certain aspects of the game to favour new content (raids + LS3), but isn’t another quick remedy to keep SAB in.

Everybody loves it, and it’s not particularly Easter/April Fools-bound to be categorized as a festival like Halloween, Wintersday, etc. that are counterparts with distinct seasonal application. SAB is just a crowd pleaser, people can enjoy world 1&2 and the tribulation modes, and right now with ongoing PvP leagues, people can’t focus both and have to neglect stuff in game.

Your previous arguments about not adding too many new zones or too much new content in fear of spreading your player base too thin is no longer valid; the spreading players thin now is due to players leaving the game out of lack of content. As such, leaving SAB in as permanent content only has positives.

So, sincere question to you, Anet, why is it that SAB only returns for a short while only to be enjoyed by a handful?

AND it cannot be justified it’s about skin exclusivity/achievements, because for all other previous exclusive skins you have released new NPC vendors with one-off events to acquire those again. So why should SAB skins be in a different category…

All your arguments are valid, and I would like SAB to remain too. However, the reason why SAB cannot stay permanently has already been answered somewhere(i think last Friday’s Guild Chat?) by the devs: It is very prone to breaking when the game patches. For 2-3 weeks without patch(other than bug fixes) SAB should be okay, but if they keep it permanently, they would have to check SAB every single time they add in new content.

I think the plan is to include SAB once or twice per year, where they only just have to make sure it works fine for that duration and not patch for 2-3 weeks(while we play SAB), and then take it out again with the next big patch.

Seeing the concept of Shared Bag Slots on the gemstore, I thought it might be a good idea for you to implement quite a few of the following:

1. Unlock Second(and possibly more!) Armor Set Slot!
You may place a second armor set into the 6 slots provided, and swap to that armor at the press of a button. Furthermore, the Set Slots are shared for the respective armor weights of your professions. So if you are on your Guardian with Berserker gear, you can now just press a button and there, you fully equip your Soldier gear! What’s more is if you login on your Warrior, you can also press the button and equip either the Berserker or Soldier gear(whichever one is currently in the Second Armor Set Slot and not actively being used by another character).

2. Unlock Second(and possibly more!) Weapon Set Slot!
This follows the same concept as #1, but is a bit more complicated, because most classes have the weapon swap button, and it is not the same thing as the Second Weapon Slot. Your Current weapon is Greatsword, and the Swap weapon is Longbow. Your Second Weapon Set Slot is Hammer. With the press of a button(while out of combat), you can swap your active weapon with the Hammer. So if you wanted to go Greatsword+Hammer, you would need to Swap to Longbow first and make it the active weapon, then press the button to replace it with the Hammer. The same rule applies to #1, all professions capable of using said weapon will have it available as long as it is not equipped on another character’s main(or swap) weapon set.

3. Unlock Second(and possibly more!) Trinket/Backpack Slot!
Same concept.

Please note that all suggestions require to be out of combat for the button to work.

This resolves the issue of “the chore of build swapping”, that is sending armor pieces, weapons, trinkets back and forth to other characters, and also having to carry so many different armors/weapons/trinkets in our bags to swap builds on the same character, and any other issues such as accidentally selling your gear to merchant…etc.

Consequences:
It is possible people might craft less Ascended Gear in the long run because of this convenience, but many players are already going through the hassle of unequipping whole characters whenever they decided to play another, and the above product would be very convenient for them.

For people who already own multiple sets(for example, you already crafted full Berserker Ascended Armor for your Ele and Necro), Ascended Stat switching already exists, and you simply get access to another set(change one of the sets to Viper).

Some players will actually craft more Ascended Armor sets, because they will now have a safe place to store their Second Armor, and every character(with same armor weight) will have access to it!

I would consider this something on par with Shared Bag Slots, it would provide convenience to the player and is absolutely NOT necessary, so it could be sold like any other gemstore product. I dare say people would be willing to spend their gems on this type of convenience.

What sticks out as the most wrong is the dailies.

Dragonball Participant = Participate into 2 games of Dragonball.
Dragonball Boss = Win 5 games of Dragonball.

This should clearly be the other way around. Participant should be 5, Boss should be 2.
This would fix things because even if players lost, they would still get Participant, and that makes it worth staying. Perhaps you would lose 3 games and win 2 and be done with your dailies.

The way it is now, you have to win 5, and win includes participation, which means it is clearly more efficient to simply leave a losing match(actually there is NO reason to stay in a losing match other than waste your own time) and re-enter, because you will get Participant either way by winning the next match.

This is really badly design.

The answer is Engineer, by a long mile.
There are videos of Engineers soloing practically every/any type of champ/bosses/content, except for impossible ones due to the mechanics themselves not allowing it. Example: nobody can solo CoF P1 because you need 4 people to stand in the bubbles and 1 to open the door.

There’s even videos of Engineer soloing Fractal 100 Mai Trin, Migraine(Heart & Minds Extreme Mote), or Lupicus(but this one has been done with every profession, naked, and with feet-only).

Okay so, we’ve had
No Glider while Gliding
and
Only Glider while Gliding,
so I am going to add
Glider while Not Gliding.

This happened when you deploy the glider right before landing on the ground after bouncing off a mushroom. I cannot time exactly and replicate it, but it happens to me quite often. Drawing and stowing weapon does not remove the glider(see 2nd pic).

That’s not a real Rifle. It’s an environmental weapon from Township of Claypool. He was doing the “Hold, Hold, Hold, Fire!” Heart event.

I assumed it would be OK right now but not OK in the future if he caused a World War or something.

References to real life persons are not allowed in general, especially not if they are widely known persons.

Not 100% true. I reported someone’s character named Mohammed and they were forced to change their name. I also reported someone’s character named Jesus and they still have the name.

There’s nothing offensive about either name, since they are the names of many people in real as well, and it is quite common for someone to use their own first name for their GW2 character.

I think some names are just more allowed than others.

Mine is a different but similar issue that occurs at around the same time.
16:30 – 19:15(GMT) my ping increases by about 100ms.

Ping Plotter says that ncsoft servers are the culprit.

This problem has started 1 week after HoT came out and has never been resolved.

Hello!

I’ve been a guild wars 2 player since April 2014 and there has been one thing about this game I loved above many games; that is the visual effects mages have for their spells. Elementalist and Guardian appealed to me the most in particular, in which their visual “noise” makes them actually seem like they have an impact and additionally being visually appealing to the player.

The last two updates completely RUINED this effect they had. I’m on max graphics on a PNY Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti and the Elementalist aura shields are LITERALLY a line surrounding them now. A colored…….line. The fireballs look like I am throwing a tiny ember at them. A guardian’s trap skills look like a beginner’s sculpted primitive on Second Life. What was the point of these graphical reductions being forced on everyone? Seriously?

For some, yes I understand it can be “noisy” and people do not like it, but force it on a majority of the community that wants such graphical noise to stay? Why are you trying to “improve” or “fix” what doesn’t need to be touched? In-fact, many of the visuals that were there before didn’t have enough noise at all in my opinion. A dust devil from California looks more visually appealing than Fire Tornado.

My solution would’ve been to add an option to the graphics menu to reduce visual noise that abilities have at will when the individual player wants, rather than force it on everyone. This would solve all complaints and problems, I can guarantee that. If you’re so for the community like you claim, then a simple fundamental change can be done to the graphics menu and add this option, then revert everything that has been undone already when it comes to reduction in visual noise. This way, people have options.

You have completely missed the point of the visual improvements.

Kudzu, Dreamer and Flameseeker Prophecies now have new effects added to them as of today.

You see, the reasoning works this way for devs:
Let’s replace the Auras with lesser effects to remove some visual clutter!
Let’s add new effects to some Legendaries to add some visual clutter!

See? this makes perfect sense.

Oh wait…

Experienced or even more skilled players that have done the work to get better lack patience to be in a raid with players who they feel are wasting their time.

I have done VG with random pugs and beat it with no voice coms, on like the 5th try before. Then I go to another raid and its like a circus, people dieing left and right, low dps, tons of mistakes, people going AFK for long periods of time wasting everyone’s food and play time, along with people running not good builds.

People don’t want to be in raids like the above. Thats why they are getting picky about who can join raids.

How to be Elitist in Raids(only works for Vale Guardian)
You do not need to ask them to ping gear or anything. Just do the following, it is much simpler.

This method is used to check whether someone has defeated Vale Guardian or not.

First, check if they have 162+ Mastery Level, it is a given that they have beaten Vale Guardian before if they have 162 or more.

If they have less points, then you have to to use the method below.
(They might have defeated Vale Guardian but have not maxed out other Masteries)

Ask the players to travel to the Raid Vendor. If they cannot, that means they do not have the Rift Traveler Mastery(it only requires 508,000 Exp), which in turn means that they do not have Forsaken Thicket Mastery unlocked, which implies they have not beaten Vale Guardian before.

(If you did beat Vale Guardian but did not earn 508,000 Exp yet for Rift Traveler, come back when you have done so then we will believe you)

Note that if a player has exactly 161 points, it also means that they have not defeated Vale Guardian yet, since Forsaken Thicket is the only Mastery that requires 2 Mastery Points.

Arenanet made a built-in Experienced Player Checker themselves to promote Elitism at its finest.

I do not advocate Elitism nor am I elitist, and I have not even defeated Vale Guardian. I am just pointing this out having been a victim of people looking for “Experienced” players only.
(They actually mean “having defeated the boss before” when they say “Experienced”)

Why is Birthday Blaster disabled? It is food too!
Is it because it only lasts 10mins? Vale Guardian only lasts 8.
And why is Birthday Blaster only 10mins anyway since it is infinite uses?
Why not make it 30mins like every other food?

Please display Character Name in Squad instead of Account Name. I am having enough trouble as it is in a 10-people squad(see 50) figuring out who is who from seeing their Account Name in Squad and seeing their Character Name talk in chat, or above their character on the map. I can Toggle Squad, but it also only shows people who are in my subgroup.

I am having to Translate each name one by one:
Example
BlackJack.1234 = Lightblue Dragon
EMS.4567 = King Moa Moa
Tygger.6789 = Norny Baratheon

And dont say just click that person to target them and find out who is who when they are possibly not even on my current map.

I played the whole Personal Story only once 3 years ago, and even I can still remember Zhaitan’s weakness. It was made very clear…

His weakness was the Sylvari race as a whole, because Sylvari could not be corrupted by Zhaitan.

This part has always stuck to me because I previously made the theory that all Sylvari were minions of Mordremoth, and it somehow turned out to be true. I dont know if the story devs had already planned it, or if they got the idea from my post though.

Hero points are bugged.

Mastery points are bugged.

Achievements are bugged.

Events progressing to Tier4 are also bugged.

Experience for doing too many events has some serious Diminishing Returns bug(you start gaining 1k less experience for every event once you hit DR) which makes the millions of experience required for Masteries a much bigger grind than anticipated.

Map completion is bugged with no rewards even if you somehow manage to complete the map with all those bugged Hero points.

Skills are bugged such as Dragonhunter Longbow alone has 5 bugs(even though some give you an advantage, they are still bugs).

Story progression is bugged.

Precursor collections are bugged.

Events required to obtain item for precusor collections are bugged.

Autoloot is bugged.

I’ll be honest and blunt to Arenanet. I paid $50 to play this game. I did not pay to test this game. I did not pay to sit down and report bugs for this game because I cannot progress. It is true that you can completely ignore my complaints and do whatever you want with the $50 I paid to you, the money is yours. But if you do that, you probably wont see the next $50 for the next bug-ridden content you release.

Not true. Vistas and JPs require going UP. You can only go down with Gliding. Since there are no Updrafts or Ley-lines in central Tyria(and Arenanet does not have to add them), Gliding would not help you much in going UP. Perhaps it could save you from a bad jump and smashing your face on the ground, or perhaps it could get you back to a midway spot rather than restarting completely, but Gliding is by no means getting you UP there.

Besides, Mesmer portals already exist as checkpoints. Moreover, Mesmer portals can already “destroy the purpose of vistas and jumping puzzles” completely.

Leyline Glider achievement in Dragon’s Stand does not work. I have Leyline Gliding unlocked, I have glided every Leyline in Dragon’s Stand, it wont give me the Mastery Point.

Many do not remember when people are nice to them, but clearly remember when others are mean to them. You want proof?

Name the person who last revived you when you were dead. You probably cant remember. It is very likely that you just said “ty” and moved on.
Now name the person who last did not revive you when you were dead and just walked away. You probably remember this quite well. Some of you might even have decided to add that person to their blocklist. I know that I have once waited for one of them to die during the same event chain, and leave them dead there and even type /rank on their corpse instead of reviving them.

Name someone who last invited you for free rewards in a dungeon because someone in their party had to leave early. You probably dont remember.
Now name the person who last kicked you from a dungeon. I am certain you clearly do remember.

That does not mean everyone shouldnt do nice things. And there are good things happening all the time. People just dont talk about whoever revived them, but will tell their whole guild about the “noob” who did not.
