8/10

Enjoying the various layers of the jungle as well as exploring it and finding out more about the lore. Not too happy about how many HP it takes to unlock elite spec, fell 200 would’ve been enough really. But on the plus side since mastered are account bound it’ll take a fourth of the time to get my other elite specs.

also LOvE how the enemies are actually a threat and not just completely loot bags.

My best guess is they are trying to flush a lot of gold out of the economy, but I really think if that is so this is the wrong way to do it. Maybe they’re trying to account for all the new ways to make gold? Just have to see I guess, right now everything that seems to have been good for making money has been nerfed into oblivion. Which would be so bad but….RNG….

Or, make it so just damaging conditions could t be applied. Admittedly, I am biased since I love plying Condi necro so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

in Necromancer

Posted by: TheLastNobody.8319

TheLastNobody.8319

I have an engi, it’s much easier to survive with it rather than my necro due to the combination of mobility, stealth, and invulnerabilitY.

However, I enjoy playing on my necro more, simply because we do a good job of countering the Condi stealth builds currently running rampant in WvW, and I find I can take camps much quicker and faster on my necro compared to my engi, like the swords pop up, the supervisor is dead. And while it is harder to run on a necro, if you know what you’re doing that isn’t necessarily the case. Using our soft CC, deathshroud, and swiftness from spectral walk and warhorn 5, I found I can actually evade other classes, or force them to burn valuable teleports to catch up, then unload on them after they have done so. And I think reaper will just allow us to improve in our roaming capabilities just with its dash and how much chill it can put out.

Is it easy, no. Is necro the best class for zooming around the map, not really, but it is fun and provides a great challenge, and the satisfaction you’ll get when you catch a thief or Mesmer is immense and can happen more often than you think.

When will condition damage be addressed?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: TheLastNobody.8319

TheLastNobody.8319

I don’t understand. Does it mean builds specialized in condition damage can generate dps even higher than the ones focused on non-condition damage? Or does it suppose that there should be a gap between the dps from condition damage and non-condition ones and currently the gap is not wide enough?

Unless you’re a sinister engi, I don’t believe any condition build matches to the DPS of a zerker, it’s just not possible given the time frame of boss fights. Also you have 3 camps really arguing, and it gets confusing because any changes based on one game mode affect the other.

One camp believes that Condition damage should not come close to zerker damage numbers, due to the more passive nature of conditions, apply and forget.

One camp believe that conditions should get close to but not exceed zerker damage.

Then you have my camp, which believes that condition damage should be able to reach zerker damage levels with conditions, but only if certain requirements are met, I.E., no cleansing or major screw ups on the enemy side, and continuous application.

Currently all the camps are agreeing that burning is right now the biggest problem for everyone condition wise, just we haven’t decided on what the root problem is, be it how easy it is for certain classes to quickly apply burning, or of burning is just dealing too much raw damage.

Nerf burning to 12%,, buff bleeding to 8%, buff torment to 10% when moving.

Nerfing burning is a no no. It’s not burning that’s the issue it’s the application of the condition namely by guardians as elementalists were just dealt with.

Way I see it, it’s a bit of both, burning being too powerful a condition, as it currently dead 2.5x more damage of a bleed, making it nearly impossible for other conditions builds to truly shine or overcome, and creating a false perception that Condi’s are op as heck. You’re right though that the plentiful application of burning is just ridiculous, currently on engi or guard, both of which can burst you with burns. Then go full defense to wait it out. Yes you can cleanse but then what will keep you alive for the second round? And good ones will space out their applications or apply cover conditions. Suggestions?

… iam realising that you guys who are complaining about stealth thiefs are just to lazy to use anti stealth traps and skills…

If your class has not any chance to reveal a perma stealth thief, go get some anti stealth traps. Or joint with a class that can reveal stealth ( more Classes are able to do that in HoT)…

Now stop ranting about permastealth thief, go and build a build that has CONDITION removal in it. Use it and stop beeing a crybaby.

Anet has already done something against it long ago and even added with HoT more options exactly for this situation.

What kind of non-sense is that? Not all professions have access to so called ‘anti-stealth’ skills/traits and you can’t reasonably expect ppl to always carry supply and traps at all time. Oh, wait mister invisi trapper thief, I have to go to speldan get myself supplies for my stealth trap because I just dropped mine into a ram… brb…

No, seriously ppl drop it with the stealth trap BS. It’s just insulting to ppl intelligence to try that argument.

Perma stealth is kitten period. It provides extremely poor fights on top of being utterly unfair. It’s only fun for trolls and I’m sad ANET feed them so well.

Our place in raids

in Guardian

Posted by: TheLastNobody.8319

TheLastNobody.8319

You guys gotta realize that just because guardian isn’t the best at something, doesn’t mean that it’s useless and people won’t take it. People will continue to play guardian because they find it fun/like the aesthetic.

No need to burn down (no pun intended) guardian player’s hopes for raids.

True, but the same thing was said about necros and rangers in dungeons. And look where they are. I play a necro, and while I do love it to death, it’s been my main almost since I started GW2, they are rarely wanted in dungeons simply because they don’t bring much to the table.

Ideally, every class should be the best at something, or decent at multiple things. Revenants are boon factories, Druids are super healers, Warrior will still have phalanx strength to help provide a constant stream of might, engineer is locked in simply for it’s Condi damage capabilities but still has great support, thieves have stealth which is always helpful, reapers are going to be bruiser gods and can pull people that are downed out of the danger zone, eles are a good Jack of all trades, mesmers have portal and give alclarity with chronomancer.

The guard’s whole schtick is that it can help negate damage that would normally wipe a party off the face of tyria with reflects, projectile blocks, and aegis. But if there is enough unblock able attacks, then a guardian will start to be nothing more than an active spectator…..dear Grenth i hope this doesn’t sound hostile, truly don’t mean it to if it does. Just wanting to make a point, and Hopefully I’m dead wrong.

In short, to summarize, I don’t think people are afraid guardian will not be meta, I think they’re afraid that they’ll start thinking they same way I did on my necromancer for the longest time. “Well, if I was on another class, I could do something.”

I have a feeling/kinda hoping that Reaper will be pretty broken on release, and be great in zergs. A Pull + stability + nice AoE damage/chill/vulnerability. As much as I want to try the Revenant, I think I may have to play around with Reaper for a few weeks first

I can see it working, specially if you go like a minion bomber build with rise, or just a good old fashioned frontline well build. The bad thing is just making sure you have enough stability to hit.

But I think the biggest thing that will change Zerg warfare will be the maps and how they’re designed.

How to nerf Reaper

in Necromancer

Posted by: TheLastNobody.8319

TheLastNobody.8319

I would balance Reaper by bringing the other elite specs up to its level. Reaper is the benchmark of how an elite spec should be done. Period.

Elite specializations shouldn’t be an upgrade to regular specs, but an alternative. If they were really that much better you’d basically limit any kind of build diversity to “elite + 2 others”.
That being said, Reaper isn’t op.
Death Shroud could use a buff though, because as it stands RS is clearly better than DS.

This, I think reaper will finally show Anet just what exactly necromancer needs to be a better more viable class as it gives them another subsection of the necro to balance for, rather than a comparison to other classes and their abilities. B

Our place in raids

in Guardian

Posted by: TheLastNobody.8319

TheLastNobody.8319

Ehhhh, sounding like you guys are having the same problems as us necromancers….so from what I’m getting at revenant and Druid are pretty much pushing you guys out?

They are either giving part of what makes us good to them or making what we offer seem less important.

So many nonreflectable crap being added to raids and new content it’s annoying. As well as unblockable attacks. But the biggest problem is with so much little damage constantly being thrown around in raids, it is becoming much harder to get reliable blocks on the hard hitting attacks.

Oh and while they were at it, they nerfed our 4 second quickness ELITE!!!!

I think that that is the single most annoying thing that Anet is doing with PvE. Because of the ridiculous nature of reflect scaling, they’ve decided to make every PvE projectile completely unblockable instead of just adjusting reflect damage.

It makes Guardians near useless in a fight.

Yeah I can see that being a big problem, not like you guys have 2 health bars, or extended periods of invulnerability. Making something unblock able is just lazy design, and I do think they’ve put out too many reflects on other classes, which has caused them to make this decision. Then again they have made other attacks undodgeable and what not which counters thief mechanics as well, but seems raids are focusing on more sort of damage reduction and regeneration rather than outright avoiding damage all together.

Stop calling for Nerfs before the profession is even live! What is wrong with you people? You don’t know anything about the final iteration of the class so what makes you think you have ANY idea how or why to nerf it?

Various reasons really. Fear of things being so strong at launch that they end up gutting the profession later down the line.

Other people who don’t play reaper or play very little start whining for nerfs when they realize they can’t just focus the necro as easily before and expect to win against them, thus calling for nerfs so their old tactics work again.

Meta classes calling for nerfs so that they won’t be pushed out and made potentially obsolete.

I don’t really agree with either….ok I can semi agree about DD, but really I don’t think it’s too powerful considering to get the amount of vul we need to make it worth it, we’re talking about giving up bitter chill here, as well as reduced shroud cooldown and unblock able marks.

And Gravedigger is fine the way it is. Reason why? That windup is huge, so can be easily interrupted or bursted down, or just plain dodged. Making it 50% cooldown would make it too clunky and really not worth using, in fact GD is pretty much the only reason to take GS anyway right now. Remeber BWE 1 where it had a 1 second cooldown? Yeah….fun times.
