It does lock people out that hate and/or are terrible at jumping puzzles. I know my GF skips anything JP related, or I have to do them for her. Luckily for her I love them so…

No he doesn’t need to be redone, I found him particularly easy, just keep on trying, I got him around my third try.
If he is easy, would you mind posting an unedited, unbroken video showing you beating him three times in a row? This should be no problem if he’s easy.
Why would I waste my time doing that? To prove to some people who probably tried this once then quit that it’s possible? If you expect me to utilize my time like that, then first you upload a video of you trying twenty times against this guy, then I’ll do it. They already made him easier once, do you guys really lack this amount of skill? It’s not entirely luck, use your signature moves to your advantage.
He’s asking for evidence that Irongut is “easy”. If you are not willing to provide that evidence, it is reasonable to assume that you are lying.
Evidence? It’s an opinion. I defeated him on my third attempt, why would I lie about my own opinion? I’m not going to waste my time, nor do I have a computer capable enough provide decent FPS when recording, when I’m playing regularly I get 30fps If I’m lucky.

I’ve never posted on these forums before but this called for a log in, you’re either crazy or trolling if you think it requires skill, it’s pure luck.
Never has there been a more ignorant post, delete pl0x.
I’m not crazy, nor am I trolling. It took me just as many times against Adnul against Maddie. It requires skill, make use of your signature moves. I took him down when I only had one (Woo). What I did was bluff everytime I could possibly. Then, when he used his signature move, Critique, I used Belch first. Then for the remaining two I drank water and took a sip of the juice. I didn’t use it, but if you’re having so much difficulty, use “For Science!” or Boast. Either will help the health situation. There IS strategy to it.
I like how people beg for something different, something difficult, something that lasts more than a few days, and the instant people get something even slightly difficult, they come to the forums and start crying about it.
He’s like the guy that says the Mystic Forge is easy to get precursors because he got his on his 3rd attempt.
You got lucky, bud. Ardnul is 100% luck at a certain point. Whether he wants to use his special ability will make or break you. He uses it randomly with no cooldown. I’ve played him 23 times so far. There is no pattern.
You beat it on your 3rd attempt? Good work, he decided not to use his special as frequently as he is using on others. At a certain point you are down to 1000hp, can’t bluff, you can drink (that’s 1 charge off his special), you can belch (that’s 2 charges), then you are left with the suicide drink.
Saying he is easy is like saying weapon claims tickets drop great.

So, Fey… how exactly are people doing dailies negatively affecting your game play again?
Try reading all the above and trolling less? But basically why implement a rank system for something with daily and monthlies invloved?
You’ve missed the point.
How is this hurting you. It’s that simple.
it’s hurting him because he doesn’t want to online everyday (to do something) to be in top of leaderboards. (less time to maintenance of your position/rank). In addition he doesn’t want to do any which he doesn’t like (maybe PvP, WvW, etc).
Did you ever read a post so concise, so clear that it removed any and all doubts from your mind? Well forget them… this isn’t one of those posts.
Let me get this right… he wants to maintain position on the leader boards by not logging in and when he does by not doing what’s available that other people do? That’s like saying I should get credit for climbing Mt. Everest because I spent the night at a Holiday Inn Express in Tibet.
I want to be a professional basketball player but I don’t have the same amount of time to train like those “professionals”. I don’t think it’s fair that while I have to work to support myself, they can grind away getting better at basketball all day and be paid to do it! Since I play basketball maybe 3-4hours a week, I should at least be able to bench on the Miami Heat and get the pay that comes with that. I mean, it just isn’t fair!!!!! WHY OH WHY ISN’T IT FAIR!!!
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
I’m starting to really hate you elitist people, thinking you’re better than everyone just because you let people go first. Just got people calling me names because I got won. Or maybe it’s just my server being childish about it…
They are, in fact, better humans for allowing others to go ahead of them.
It is in no way a requirement, but they do it to help their fellow man. If you don’t think that makes them better human beings, then you, sir, are deluding yourself.
I don’t think anyone should be mad that someone didn’t let them get first (since it is a race and the best man should win), but those that do let people go ahead should be given the accolades that come with being a kind, compassionate human being.
Jeering those that win constantly and don’t let you win = bad.
Cheering those that allow others to win = good
Winning constantly even though you’ve gotten all the achievements = neutral, you are allowed to do this and you shouldn’t be vilified for it.
That’s pretty much it.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
It’s definitely random. I can consistently get him down to 20% or so and he just busts out his special again, right after he just used it! And when you’re down to 3000hp and your options are drink or drink water, of course he will belch when you drink your water and then you’re stuck with the ole suicide final drink.
I think I can beat him if I give it some more trying but when I get him down that low I know its just a matter of whether he wants to use his special or not in order for me to win, nothing more.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
A. The points are too easy to earn
B. They are Endless (although only from my view point)
C. Dedication should be rewardedI suppose we should have a rank board for time spent in game? According to your logic. I mean they spent the most time in game lets Rank and award them for it?
If they are too easy to earn then everyone, including casual players, can earn them, thus defeating your own argument.
What do you define as dedication? That’s an ambiguous term…
Are you more dedicated because you like the game more? How is that measured?
Are you more dedicated because you play the game more? Questionable, but it can be measured, and its as good a place to start as anything. I’m sure most people would argue that someone with 2000 hours in game time is more dedicated than someone with 300 hours in game time. Sure you could argue someone may have gone AFK for hours on end, but since you aren’t actually rewarded for just being logged in, that doesn’t even matter.
Are you more dedicated because you do every single daily category every day (not just the 5/5)? Absolutely. No one would argue someone is less dedicated for doing this. Wouldn’t this meet your “C” requirement of rewarding the dedicated?
Being logged in =/= dedication.
Being logged in and doing every daily, every day, for a year = dedication.
Most would agree with the above.

Guys you’re beating around the issue. You want a competitive leaderboard, so ask for a second leaderboard that doesn’t have HoM, Repeatable, Living Story, Dailies, or Monthlies.
So without any achievements that are repeatable? I guess if we need a leaderboard with a 1000-way tie for first…. Without AP that can be repeated, then there would be a fixed number that would be maximum AP. If there is a ceiling on AP, then what the heck is the point of a leaderboard, eventually everyone would make it to #1…
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
It is not nonsense, to award no achievement points but give an alternate rewarded instead. The infinite sanctum sprint achievement that gives a rare every time you complete it but it rewards 0 achievement points.
If achievement points meant nothing to begin with why did Anet have an entire Ranking board created around them? They did mean something before not after daily and monthlies. I am ok with those achievements that lack skill because they have a Cap, unlike daily / monthly. Those achievements also generate very small AP. Also they do not take up 90% of the achievements, this is a very biased statistic.
Daily and monthlies do limit freedom and do devolve the game into kill 1000 of x. They do that in spades. And you are not forced to kill 1000 x there are many achievements like Jumping Puzzles, World v World and sPvP that are truly dynamic and entertaining. But I guess the population of Gw2 would rather, to everyday do this…
……………
(Keep in mind everyday = 365 per year)
So 11 of the mindless above x 365 = 4015 AP For nothing
But i guess dailies give you a trivial amount of points as you put it?What part of the above isn’t mindless farming in its own right? Aside from dungeons, personal story and maybe few others?
And we haven’t even touched Monthly PvE/sPvP or Daily sPvP.
As for retooling the system well.. they need not do that. They just need to ad more Unique Achievements and or buff the points from existing ones.
Is your argument literally that if someone wanted to, they could do every daily category for a year and get 4000AP and that’s not fair? Really? I mean, really? The vast majority of players do the 5 required dailies and move on, but you’re concerned that some crazy basement dweller could potentially play all day, get every daily/monthly and then receive ~4000 AP over the course of a year and that shouldn’t be allowed because it isn’t fair to more casual players?
Good lord, seriously? You can’t just give up the fact that someone who plays more than you can and should be able to get more achievement points? You have to say there should be a cap so that no matter how much they play they can’t have an advantage over someone who plays a fraction as much?
That’s like someone who can only work 40hrs in a week complaining that they don’t make as much as someone who works 60hrs (20hrs overtime at 1.5x pay). “That’s not fair he can make more money because he put in more hours! I don’t have the opportunity to work extra hours because I have a busy schedule! No one else should be allowed to work extra hours for extra benefit if I can’t! Put a cap on their hours! If anything the AP they earn should go into a community pool to be split amongst those that can’t/don’t want to work as hard or as long!”
Welcome to Soviet Tyria.

I don’t think I’ve played a game where leveling solo on my alt didn’t feel like a drill in my eye at some point. If anything, GW2 is the most enjoyable leveling experience I’ve ever had. They’ve given us so many ways to level I can keep it fresh! (at least on my first 4 characters).
I can’t think of any game where I’ve leveled 4 chars to max through different methods.
First character was OCD map completion leveling, where you hit max level before you get to a level 60 zone.
Second was WvW leveling, which went super fast compared to first character.
Third was leveled mostly through crafting with a little bit of WvW and random events/hearts as I saw fit and felt like helping guildies.
Fourth I duo’d with GF and I specifically hit zones that I felt I didn’t really focus on before. Zones that I honestly couldn’t think of one event that stood out in my mind. I’m sure we all have certain zones/continents that we merely ran through for exploration but never spent the time to experience the various events/metas. That’s what I focused on this time around.
Fifth character I’m not sure how I’m going to level him up.
In every other game I’ve played leveling up is exactly the same every single time. I like that in GW2 I can do it in so many different ways. You finish your main, then roll alt and you’re like “ugh, this quest again, I remember this one, I hated it”. Don’t have that problem in GW2.

I think the plethora of Badges of Honor is a huge deal for people that want legenedaries but are too scared to go into WvW to earn them and/or only farm JPs. The AP rewards you with every badge you will need for your legendary (500).
From AP rewards, I will have enough Badges of Honor for both the Gift of Battle and a complete set of pvt armour. That is very, very practical to me.
However, what is the whole point of Gift of Battle, if not to make players give WvW a try for some time?
Free WvW badges defeat the purpose of Gift of Battle entirely.
You are correct. However I think the plan backfired when the PvE’ers decided that WvW was impossible for them and thus they will never get legendaries. Fast forward through months of complaints on the forums of players being “forced” to participate in WvW for a weapon skin and you have the BoHs being given out like candy from the AP achievements.
I mean, to get Gift of Battle you have to at the very least step foot into WvW. I guess maybe they hope that’s all it will take.
I still talk to people (who have played since release) that think WvW and PvP are the same thing and have refused to do WvW because they don’t like PvP. I try to explain to them they are two different things, but once they ask if you PvP in WvW and I say yes, the discussion ends. It’s so much more! SO MUCH MORE!
You guys are forgetting that they also are forcing us to go to WvW for the gift of exploration (or whatever it is for map completion). Its not just badges we need from WvW to get a legendary.
This is true. Finished that so long ago I forgot it was a requirement.

I’m not sure why they have to be mutually exclusive. As if players who spend a lot of time in a game aren’t able to be skilled at the same time. That’s one thing that all the forum…goers (to avoid an infraction) say that really irks me.
Because it’s a matter of priorities. Right now, GW2 has a lot of reward for people who spend a lot of time playing, even if they have little skill (which is one of the reasons why forum goers keep mentioning it). There are very few rewards for skilled players, especially those who do not spend a lot of time playing. From ArenaNet’s past design philosophies, one would expect the opposite.
Considering none of the rewards you speak of give any kind of advantage to the skilled players with lots of time, I have a hard time agreeing with the premise that skilled players without lots of time are disadvantaged comparatively.
I think any game expecting longevity needs to give some kind of perk to those that put in more hours; perks that don’t disadvantage others, but definitely perks that set them apart. That’s par for the course.

I was in this boat until I went on a ski vacation and missed most of the Wintersday celebration. Once you miss one event, you really stop caring about getting every achievement. Even now, I just try to get the meta-reward. Anything else after that is just to boost my AP and if I don’t finish it, whatever.
There are those that have not missed any, though, so I’m sure the pressure is on for them to complete everything.
It’s nice not having that pressure.
I suggest that everyone who has not missed a Living Story achievement, to just let go and let one slip. I know it’s hard, but you will be a better person for it in the long run. You will no longer be a slave to the two week time-frame! You will get your meta done and still have almost the entire two weeks left and you will feel great!
Oh no, event’s over and you missed 2 achievements? You won’t care!! You will just focus on the meta of the next event!
Oh it’s glorious to be free!

They’ve played more games than I have and still haven’t placed first. What lesson do you honestly think you are teaching them by not allowing them to win? Patience and hardwork? Teaching them how to fish rather than give them a fish? No, you are teaching them that there are kittens in this world. Something I’m sure they are coming to a fantasy world to escape.

85% of a JP doesn’t give me an issue, but the last 15% (which coincidentally seem to be the hardest jumps) are 50x harder because you have to leap of faith it through terrible camera angles. Nothing makes me more sadfaced than missing what would have been an easy jump because the camera zoomed in on a rock…then having to start the JP over…
Don’t agree with OP that JPs are crap, but I do agree that the camera angles are atrocious sometimes and really needs to be addressed.

Yep, I’m one of the very few, it seems, that prefer guild runs simply because I can request a full run and not a speed run without getting booted.
I don’t like joining a group for X path and feel like my whole job is to follow as closely as I can while we sprint through everything, stack on this one exploit spot, jump here, jump there, all the while it is obvious this wasn’t the intended mechanic and we skipped almost everything.
I won’t lie: there is a time and a place for speed runs. But sometimes I want to experience the entire dungeon, for, gee I dunno, fun, but nooooooo I’m the noob apparently if I don’t want to speed run literally everything.
Thank god for having a good guild with people that get what this game is all about, that’s all I can say.

Methinks that Mesmer should have charged 2g each for that service. I know I would, especially if they are QQing about it.

Haters gonna hate, simple as that. They’ve become so attached to the “I hate everything GW2 releases they suck temporary content sucks balance sucks everything sucks” mentality that no matter the update it will never be good. Unless of course Anet somehow figures out how to make an update that will be exactly what everyone wanted. Ever.

Yea, I can’t believe people are complaining about free stuff…
A month ago you had no rewards for achievement points and no one was complaining. They add free rewards for AP and all of a sudden people are getting picky and don’t want this or that or want it to be set up differently and now it’s like the end of the world.
Good god people, chill out! Maybe in the future there will be even better skins you can have so you won’t have to QQ about the free ones that Anet is giving you…

Im casual..in that I have only 2-3 hours to play per night, but take my toon, gear, class, experience serious enough where I want to do well.
And i hate living story. Innovative but its doing squat to further this game. Very stagnat right now.
would it be better if instead we had none of the living story and ended up waiting for an expansion for over a year? Expansions content will come any way, whether living story is there or not.
Please refer to this thread for that debate
I did not say that expansion will come, I said that the expansions content will come. As in we’re going to get the continuation of the main story for free.
Is NCSOFT a non-commercial company? Is ArenaNet a non-commercial company? Are the employee’s all working for free? No so there is no such thing as free. It has to come from some place and if it’s not coming from expansions it’s coming from gems and if it comes from gems they need to some how get people to buy gems and there we see the main reason for temporary content.. Create a sense of urgency to get people to buy things. First rule in every marketing book.
You know I’ve heard people use that argument for years now for poor business decisions and it gets very old quickly. Plenty of other well planned great games have been developed for a long long time now all using the non-sub free to play gaming options that don’t charge for cosmetics and that actually provide solo experience for their past content.
I would name one that just recently went F2P to offer a great example where the devs there implemented while a sub and now while a F2P game systems in the game that don’t require a credit/gem purchase for every single patch like we’re seeing here in this game and they’ve been highly successful and have doubled their sales overnight.
So saying that it’s a great business plan to exploit the playerbase like they are doing by creating 1 time content that one will later only have the option of playing with a forced group in a fractal just to see the content or seeing cosmetics only in the game once forcing the sense of urgency to login much like the sub only games used to do with reputation grinds is definitely not the right way to go and will not endear the public to you as a developer.
Time and time again when the developers have been the most successful in this model of billing is when they’ve given the players what they want to earn for free just by non-grind gameplay while simultaneously offering items for store purchase that can otherwise be obtained thru a very small amount of work. (say 1 months time) History speaks for itself on this.
I’m curious what game you are referencing, because some of what you are saying could make for a good argument unless the game(s) you are talking about have never proven to be successful in the long term.
I honestly can’t think of any F2P/B2P game (that was F2P/B2P from the get-go) that doesn’t have RMT that has made it passed 5 years so to say other games have done different things with a F2P/B2P and have been successful in the long run is a hard claim for me to believe, simply because how the heck would they make any money! I’ll admit I don’t know everything.
…..Not yet, anyway…..

Unfortunately they have no reason to stop with temporary content. It’s a minimum work maximum profit model fueled by people buying into rng. It keeps the gears turning and the cash flowing. If you really want to see a change then simply dont buy gems.
Minimum work? Really? I’d love to see your explanation as to how adding entire dungeons, PvP game modes, JPs, voice acted cutscenes, new items, and yes even RNG items and then taking the time to remove them 2 weeks later is minimum work. If anything it requires significantly more work to add then remove content than it requires to add and leave content.
I mean really, please enlighten me as to how releasing the Aetherblade Retreat or the Molten Facility (which everyone agrees were legit dungeons) or Mad King’s Clocktower and other JPs and then removing them is part of a minimum work maximum profit model?
Do you people even think before you speak anymore or do you really just dislike the game so much you will just say anything to make the point that GW2 sucks and the devs are wasting their time releasing new content?
I agree that certain aspects of the game could use improvements, but to say that bi-weekly content releases are minimum work is just plain ignorant and makes me sadfaced

40 character slots? Is this legit? Has anyone actually tried it? Lol.
Make every race, sex, and class combination… TWICE.
The GW2 wiki actually says there is no limit to the amount of character slots you can have. However, I personally never meet anyone with more than about 40.
I’m curious how you get so many BL tools as well…
I play every day and since early release and I’ve gotten maybe 4% of what you apparently have coming out of your ears.
Like really, how is it possible? Here’s a suggestion: STOP BUYING BL KEYS AND OPENING CHESTS! You have enough of everything, just stop already! Wait until your supply is low then maybe open some more.
Umm maybe he farmed BL keys(yes you can farm them and it’s legit) and wanted to get something that only drops from the BL chests like lets say permanent contracts and such. Also there’s nothing wrong with people spending gems on keys it supports the game.
There is if that same person complains he doesn’t have enough space for the stuff he’s farming….sounds like a self-control issue to be honest. It’s very simple: DONT USE YOUR KEYS ALL AT ONCE! Keys take up one slot, chests take up one slot. If you open every god-kitten chest and then complain you have no room then you are a bloody moron. You run out of harvesting tools? Ok, use a couple of keys. But for heaven’s sake don’t use every key, fill your bank, and then continue to use your keys and complain you have no room. OP needs to learn management IMO. Use the keys as you need to, not when you want to. Sure the temptation to get goodies can be overwhelming, but that’s where the self-control comes in…
Also the argument: I’m not gonna throw away money by deleting items is the same argument hoarders make for why they won’t throw out old tupperware or clothing they never wear or infomercial items they’ve never used. “It’s a waste! I may use it some time later!” they think. Yea…..it’s a waste also if you never use it, which most of the time they never ever do. Now it’s a waste and takes up valuable space.

Temporary content does not hurt the game. If you’re the kind of person that logs in after awhile, sees you missed 2-3 living story events and then ragequits because you aren’t able to do them and thus can’t “catch up”, then you clearly do not understand the concept of GW2. Who cares that you missed it! Focus on playing the game for enjoyment, if you are only concerned with competing for achievement points (which makes no sense if you play irregularly enough to miss entire Living Story events) then you are treating the game like work instead of a game.
I mean seriously, why get mad that you can’t get the same achievements as someone who plays regularly. You chose not to play regularly, there are consequences to that, such as missing out on content. No sense in acting like a brat about it. <— not saying OP is acting like a brat, just people who complain they can’t make up the stuff that they chose to miss by not playing…

I know you are trying to make the case that dodging makes everything easy and so everyone goes full DPS, but I can tell you from first hand knowledge that not everyone is good at dodging. In fact, I would say the majority of players don’t dodge properly.
Removing this function would only make things more interesting for players that find dungeon encounters relatively easy. A large majority of people find dungeons to be hard in this game for some reason. I do not suggest taking out dodging. It’s not like you can spam it so I don’t see what the problem is.
The only groups I’ve ever seen run full zerker and demand full zerker are people doing speed runs. I specifically don’t run those because that’s where the elitists are. In no other circumstance will anyone require specific gear set-ups. I’ve finished every dungeon path while running a support build and never had a problem nor had anyone question it, only speed runners (and more power to them if they want to play like that, I have the choice to run with a normal group).
Plus I AoE heal when I dodge so I’d be pretty PO’d if that was taken out.
It’s like this: If you want that added difficulty of not being able to dodge, go for it. No one forces you to dodge, so feel free to up your personal difficulty. But there is absolutely no problem with dodging as a mechanic in GW2.

With all of those gathering tools, I’m not sure how you don’t use them? I’d have all of my alts equipping only those tools until I got rid of them.
What are you saving all of that stuff for? Do you even know, or are you just holding on to them “just in case”?

Ugliest armor ever implemented in a video game. the best part is they charge you $10 for it.
I wouldn’t say ugliest, but they are definitely ugly for the most part. I could see some pieces fitting in with a mix-and-match set, but as a full set, PU.

The gold reward was in exchange for the tokens or whatever you get in the mail when you win. You’ve been trading them in at the vendor right?
I technically haven’t checked the Moa since they first released it, so perhaps I’m just speaking nonsense.

Huh I never died on the Southsun one. O.o Maybe I was doing something wrong but never died on that puzzle.
But anyways, I will say its definitely a change when you take all the diving points up to this point which were easy to get to and no challenge to jump off and then they add this.
After about 20 attempts I told myself it wasn’t worth the issue. But what can you do. Last time I attempted I made it all the way down and landed on the spikes in the well and died. lol. Think that was karma telling me not to bother anymore. xD
The one where you dive into lava? I want to know how you survived that one lol, you are 100% guaranteed death. You can’t even walk into the lava without taking massive damage.

I used to look at the JP like OP here, but then I realized that the difficulty is being able to do the JP perfectly. You make a mistake you very well may end up dead or restarting. That isn’t artificial difficulty, that is compounded difficulty and makes for great challenges!

Gotta say, there’s really no reason not to do this if AR is going to be a fractal dungeon. I hope they decrease the length of time to complete this one though, because I don’t want to be in fotm for like 3hours when you include the other fractals lol.

Clearly what you consider jackie chan reflexes, most would consider basic motor skills. Auto attack, run run, jump on crates. Auto attack, run, run, jump on crates. Auto attack, run, run, jump on crates, stability. Auto attack run, ru- well you get the idea. Maybe throw some dodges in there too. If you are using double tap for dodge then you are making it too hard. Use “v” and disable double tap dodging, it really just gets in the way in almost every situation.

Yea…I have no problem with this JP achievement/cache. Get your guild to help you if it is constantly camped. Try at off-peak hours. Like Curo said, it’s an achievement, you need to achieve something, and not just the jumping puzzle.
I’ve personally gone up this JP side by side enemies from both WvWvW warring severs and we didn’t mess with each other.
I generally have the policy that if people aren’t being kittens, why rock the boat. If people are attacking my server-mates, then odds are my guild will roll through and clear the path. If everyone is playing nice, so will we.
It’s common courtesy really. And camping the top is quite lame. For anyone to do. Ever.

So…..6hrs attempting something over the course of 2 weeks is considered too much now? Seriously? People really do want things handed to them. I do not share OP’s opinion, devs.

I, too, enjoyed this JP. Believe it or not it took me more attempts to finish this one than clocktower. Some of those simple jumps have pretty steep consequences if missed, starting the whole thing over got pretty frustrating, or someone giving Swiftness when you weren’t expecting it.
Good JP. Those that say its too easy clearly haven’t done the JP at Pearl Islet in Southsun. Think my record on that is like 15secs lol.

Venn diagram summary of feedback from various threads here.
Some of us bloody love the Aetherblade dungeon, and some of us feel the Aetherblade dungeon is too hard – we’d all be served well if the dungeon was made permanent.
Is this something we can agree on?
I agree.
Thanks to my excellent teammates, I was able to complete the dungeon, along with most of the achievements. But I have several friends who are still struggling with it. Given some more time, I think most of them would complete it. Many would probably even learn to love some of the details (like Frizz’s encounter, which is absolutely awesome).
Sadly, they won’t get a chance to enjoy it, and they may even go away angry. As someone who wants to see his circle of GW2 friends remain excited about the game, that’s a little disappointing.
This is exactly the experience I made.
I do really like the dungeon for the most part. But after 4-5 runs, it still takes my group 2-3 hours to beat it, thanks to the boss fight. Ain’t nobody got time for that…
I’m pretty sure lots of people have 2-3hours for it. 1.5hrs is a pretty typical run if playing with people who actually understand Frizz. Once you have everyone on the same page on how that fight works and how to play as a team and utilize stability it’s one easy fight. Seriously people need to just slow down on that fight. There is no time limit, focus on surviving and slowly DPS when you can until you learn how to do it faster.
What OP is saying is that challenging temporary content is uncool since you don’t get enough time to learn the fight. I personally don’t agree, but clearly the forums find AR one of the most impossible dungeons to get through ever….
I think what will start to happen is that completionists will learn to be OK with not completing something. Yes I know, it’s pretty much a kick in the kittens, but people get a little crazy when it comes to completing things; perhaps a break from the OCD is all they need and then they will see each update as content to enjoy rather than achievements to scramble to complete.

Casual player can get mini, pro player can get mini, neither has to do dungeon for mini. If you are a completionist and want every achievement then you are not a casual player and need to l2p. The difficulty of this dungeon is perfect. So what you might wipe 10 times on an encounter – that’s how you learn.

I got the achievement on my second try for this. Granted I was 1 of 3 guardians, it was a guild run, and we would rotate our stability, but if everyone stays together and jumps on the same crates at the right time, you would only need 3secs of stability per crate then move on. It’s really a very easy fight and achievement to get if you work with your team.
If you are PUGing and are doing your own thing, odds are you won’t get that achievement.

I dunno about this first love comment. I started with UO. That was my first love of course. I then moved on to AC, which I have even fonder memories of and consider it my second love, but more powerful of a love than UO. Then I played Vanilla WoW the day it came out and holy kitten I was in love again! That’s the 3rd time!
Nothing after those 3 games has really made me feel like that. I think the reason being that each of those games was a completely new format for MMO. UO being the original, AC being a pre-EQ awesomeness, and then WoW being the game-changer with the accessibility. Now I ended up leaving WoW the day before WoTLK released because I was smart enough to see the endless treadmill they were creating and jumped ship before it got really bad.
From there it was CoH/CoV, AoC, Aion, SWG, Rift, and maybe some lesser knowns just to try it, all without that lovin’ feelin’. Finally GW2. I can honestly say I have not felt the same love for GW2 as I had felt for the first 3 MMOs I played, but I feel more for GW2 than any of the other games I’ve listed (maybe close to Aion because that game was legit until the faction issues began to show — if you weren’t on the winning faction, you would never be on the winning faction, it became so one-sided on every server =/= not fun if you want to PvP on any kind of even ground)
GW2 is different enough to keep me coming back. Will it be my home forever? I dunno, but it’s F2P so I know I can come back whenever I want.

This is so easy, Asheron’s Call 2 did something similar to this (not many played this game I know). You hit level cap (50 in this case) and you can start some epic quest to become a “Hero”. Then your “Hero” level could go up to say level 10, but you are still level 50. All of your gear stays the same, but leveling up your Hero would allow access to other skills and such if I remember correctly. Been awhile now.
That would solve all of the issues. If they eventually choose to allow for more “leveling”, because that seems to be people’s issues rather than actually being a higher level, then this would be a decent substitute that would not affect gear or dungeon reqs but still give the illusion of progress.

If they ever raise level cap I’m sure they will plan for these concerns. The player base was very clear when they introduced ascended gear, so they know it is a delicate subject.
Odds are you will be able to upgrade your current level 80 exotics to the new max level stuff somehow (maybe with mystic toilet).

Who cares about catching up to people in AP? All you need to do is get enough achievement points for all of the rewards. Let’s say you get the final reward for 10000 AP, that’s all a new person needs to work toward. I mean, no one cares about leader boards, I honestly didn’t even know they had AP leaderboards, nor do I even care to look at it. I just want the rewards, and so does everyone else.
Unless they have a reward for being #1 in AP, which they never will, then it really doesn’t matter if the veterans of the game have 10000+. There’s a set number everyone needs to work toward. Some will get it done faster than others based on how long they’ve played, but everyone can work toward that goal.
And playing every day IS an achievement in itself and deserves the achievement points you get.

Yep, exactly what Astral said. I had that problem as well, need to delete old mail to make room for new stuff.
