NO ONE stacks dragonhunters/warriors/whatever the kitten in any DECENT division because it is SUBPAR and if you have trouble winning against teams with 2-3 dragonhunters then you shouldn’t have even been allowed to vote on the poll. I’m looking at you, bronze quacks.

This change would’ve completely BONED plat+ because people there are actually COMPETENT enough to play multiple classes to balance out the team comp.

I voted Yes because I wanted an additional ladder that lists professions only. Let’s see who is actually best in their profession.

I voted Yes because Anet flat out said they’ll make Matchmaking a lot smarter because it will actually see professions in the player pool it draws from, rather than just a number on a spread sheet. This also means a more accurate MMR per class… as each class will literally have their own rating.

Lastly, I voted Yes because I expect Anet to later fix the obvious issues you just pointed out. These “Yes” are a whole lot more than your one “No”.

Just wish we had more smart people voting here.

I voted no. I don’t care for a class based leaderboard. I also don’t in ANet’s ability to create such an algorithm that you describe in your second point. I also don’t believe ANet will fix those issues he mentioned. After all, with what we’ve been presented with so far, there’s no evidence to suggest so. In addition, should they succeed in creating this algorithm, the upper echelons of ranked simply does not have the population to support it. ANet has said a lot of things and have not delivered.

So, I did the only logical thing and voted no. The matchmaking system was as fair as it got in season 5. I didn’t see people stacking teams. I rarely saw people swapping to alts for profession achievements in the end. If they did, it was when the game was surely unwinnable for the enemy team. If I was queued into a team with 3+ of a certain profession, the vast majority of the time 2 of them swapped to another class they were proficient with. Perhaps it’s because I usually only played during primetime. But, the system, in this sense, more or less worked.

It seems to me that the people that voted for no are the realists and the yes votes are hopeful for the almost impossible. So yes, I do wish we had more smart people voting here. I do wish we had more people vote after taking into consideration the empirical evidence that has been presented to them over the years.

In fact, as for your second point, regarding class-based MMR, I really don’t see the need. Someone who can competently play multiple classes should be rightfully ranked higher than someone who can only play one class, even if the skill is comparable. If they want to learn, then they will play unranked, or they will take the MMR hit.

I’ve seen it in matches, repeatedly. I’ve encountered a player with 25 stacks of bloodlust. this makes them devastating to fight.

Perhaps this is a hack, I don’t honestly know. I have seen it in matches though.

ANET might be trying to clean up the hack by removing the sigil.

I stand by what I said though, they should make the smallest changes possible to avoid ripple effects.

If the community wants OS to be a dueling zone, it’s going to be a dueling zone. Just like behind the windmill. Just because they aren’t specified as dueling areas doesn’t mean they aren’t. You seem to know that OS is considered a dueling area and still interrupt duels. You aren’t someone I’d like to associate with.

In addition, duelists, spvpers and WvWers are the real PvPers of this game, not puzzle campers.

Eles are by far the worst class in the game at the moment. They most certainly aren’t able to become “virtually unkillable”, even in WvW, and… Sustained burst? Really? Not only does that not qualify as burst, by definition, but that’s completely untrue anyways. You clearly have never played the class before.

No they are not that bad. People have been complaining about eles ever since they got nerfed awhile back. Playing ele at the time was godmode. Now that it is in a decent spot, most people can’t adapt.

If you’ve never played a defensive oriented ele in WvW, I don’t know what to say to you. I watched two GC thieves and one warrior chasing around an ele the other day. They couldn’t kill him. If that isn’t unkillable, I don’t think you have a clue.

Now tell me this.. Why can a GC ele do more damage to me on my bunker guardian than any other class?

I didn’t specify medi trapper, and I’m not even going to lie and say I know the specifics of that specific build enough to know what skills are slotted. That wasn’t the point I was trying to make.

You didn’t specify meditrapper, instead you generalized to the entire guardian class. I refuted it by providing a counterexample in meditrapper.

I play thief, dh, druid, rev, mesmer in that order. Obviously I’ll be a worse performing guardian than #1 on the ladder, lol. Also tbh, I didn’t even have to look at your rating. I know you are ranked lower than me because whenever I got queued into you, you were a free win.

You clearly cant read…. I said in an earlier comment that I couldnt dodge, because I was being CC’ed, while CC’ed. Not much I can do…. Yes I can stun break, but there are very few of those compared to the amount of CC and how fast you die.

Guardian has multiple specs in the class that perform better than the majority of specs available in game. If you can throw together something that doesn’t work that’s find and dandy. That means you’re good at making bad builds?

The only time I’ve ever been a “free win” is when I get team mates outside of plat and I’m solo Qing 1800.

But I mean if the best performing Rev NA is a free win that probably says something eh?

I do agree that guardians have multiple builds that could be considered cheesy (symbol and burn) but to generalize and say that the ENTIRE class is cheesy when they have a build that clearly isn’t is quite wrong.

Of course you’re a free win when you played random kitten like sword axe rev. You also aren’t “the best performing rev NA”. Wang, Ementon, Rev of Boa, Helio, (whoever rank #76 is, I recognize his account but don’t know his IGN). I’ll even throw in Pony Slaystation.

I’ve also noticed the keyboard turning and skill clicking happens mostly in fights. It feels as though you can’t keep track of too many things at once.

Your rotations could be a little cleaner and more proactive. Your moas could have been more impactful too.

That’s what I gleaned after the first watch on your vid. I feel as though you would’ve lost that match if the enemy team wasn’t 3 DH and a thief. More or less what I expected from sapphire.

Just lost a solo queue match because, despite my repeated requests, nobody would help me take out the trebuchet. I went all the way there myself, barely lost to the warrior manning it, then had to go back again. While the rest of my team just ran around skirmishing and dying to the treb shots.

This is why I cannot win matches, and there’s nothing realistic I can do about it.

Keep tagging mechanics are fine.

Just play however you want. Don’t let other players dictate how you play. If you don’t want to defend a t3 keep, by all means, don’t. At the end of the day you’re playing to have fun, and if PPT is not fun for you, don’t do it. Vice versa.
