You should tell them to bind the ‘loot all’ function in key bindings. It’s a seperate key that’ll loot everything around you character in a 600 radius. It works even while using siege weapons and doesn’t count as the use key for interacting with the environment. Won’t have that problem ever again.
Yup, all woman have to sound like pretty school girls, even ones from the hunter/warrior race.-sarcasm end-
This is one of the reasons why all my female characters are norn; the voice actually matches the body.
Only a WvWer will comb through the list from the dailies / monthlies to see what they can accomplish in the battlegrounds only.
I recently made a necro just for funsies and it’s amazing how people don’t do anything when I place marks on the floor with the staff….they just run right through it. Honestly necros aren’t op in the slightest; the only thing that kitten blocks me a little with necros are fears, but even then those are mostly minor inconveniences at best lol.
Similar to how the Super Adventure Box worked. You could trade baubles for the bauble bubble for the weapon skins. I approve of this.
Please God let Glacial Heart get some attention. 5 sec chill on a 30 sec cooldown is very, very nice if true.
I’m just gonna put this out there because i can’t find this word anywhere in relation to us Guardians…
I’d love to be able to use an Axe or even a GreatAxe, Duel Wield Axes? maybe…
I’m happy with how we are now tbh but yeah… thoughts
If Anet ever releases greataxes in this game, I’d be 150% all over that lol!
Since we’re throwing ideas out there, how about a 1h spear that can used on land? Hell, I’ll take a 2h spear if I can use it on land!
Anyone else think Daecollo was playing this while he made this post? XD
This stupid forum logged me out while posting and ate my post.
1. Each server gets their own borderland that reflects that server’s name. Dragonbrand actually is in the Dragonbrand, Maguuma actually is in the Maguuma jungle. These are released over a period of eight months to cover the eight tiers.
2. Three new “neutral” borderlands are added (for a total of four) in the same time-frame. These maps are different from other maps in that they clearly favour the owners.
4. A new EB is added every four months and changes weekly.
5. Once 2/3 of the new maps are in place, map rotation begins with the team that comes in third each week being placed one of the four “neutral” maps. In this way, even if the same three servers are fighting each other week after week there is still variety.
Yes, I am well aware of the massive amount of work involved, but this game is meant to last for years, is it not? People are already bored of the borderlands. We need variety and the more variety the better.
I love option #1 the most. It would definitely give players a reason to stay loyal to certain servers as they could really learn the ins-and-outs of their home borderlands.
Wanna see how warriors are NOT OP? Fight a skilled necro, engineer, thief, or mesmer. They will destroy you. If they pop doom sigils on their weapons a warrior will be destroyed even harder.
People need to L2P. Warriors are EASY MODE on my engineer.
Come on, don’t be silly.
A Necro can’t get through the berserker stance and the constant cleansing coming from Cleansing Ire on 30 discipline builds.
Engineer can’t do kitten on the insane stability uptime of Warriors, neither can survive the stunspam.
Thief can’t even get through the armor dealing decent damage at warrior to the point that engaging them is a pure suicide.
Mesmer is just lol. Any squishy light armor profession just melts on hammer and stuns.
Anyone can melt warriors with any profession in hotjoins where people usually don’t have an actual clue about what they’re doing.
You’re right that necros (or anyone for that matter) can’t get through berserker stance while it’s up. However if you’re trying to spam your rotation while that move is up and the war is your main target soyou can clearly see the berserker stance icon up you’re doing it wrong. However at 86% uptime on all conditions my necro can easily keep 10+ seconds of chill on a warrior even when they have dogged march + food + runes.

Atleast this’ll get me away from this game. Started to play it a bit too much now anyways :P
It’s funny. I’m betting 90% of the players who claim they will quit will not actually do so… and if they do, will be back in a week.
Wishful thinking I guess! There are other games out there you know, and real world lives to keep people occupied. Thing is with all these nerfs, this game will no longer be enjoyable to play, thus it will no longer be played. Simple as that lol.
…actually the game will still be enjoyable, you just need to change up your tactics a bit. People on the Guardian forums are going bananas as well with the whole warrior unblockable signet thing, but to be honest these changes aren’t going to ‘break the game’ as all the doomsayers say it will. People are resistant to change, and will always throw hissy fits when said change comes around. Lord knows Everquest 2 went through THREE entire combat revamps (1 of which was also a total reworking of my Paladin class in addition to the combat revamp) in my time playing it, and there’s still lots of people playing that game today. Just take a breath, wait for official patch notes, and then try the changes out for yourself. Only real way to find out just how different the changes are.
So the difficulty is in fighting the guardian the way our class was designed to be primarily played. BALANCE.
I haven’t had much trouble fighting Guardians on my Warrior at all…there’s been tons of stalemates for sure, but I’ve never outright lost to one in a 1v1 situation. I use hammer / sword & warhorn with a tanky heal shout build with enough crit chance / damage to really put on constant pressure / dps. Hammer is the main damage tool, while sword & warhorn primarily for the F1 and #5 (iirc) for vigor. Most Guardians like to run around with greatswords so those moves are extremely telegraphed and easy to manuver around. The main thing with downing Guardians is burst CC-ing them. I.e. using the hammer CC combo with some high power + crit chance will have them pooping themselves or just insta-downed. Just personal observation though…this actually reminds me I really need to get that warrior video uploaded lol. Oh! Don’t underestimate the power of vulnerability. I also use axe + mace in place of hammer, and all the vulnerability moves + on my mark is about 20% free damage for you.
The problem is hybrid, we didn’t lose our ability to deal damage. It just takes more to get the same effect we have before, and we lose things like Forceful Greatsword which lowers our overall mobility greatly.
We did lose a lot of damage. If you can’t see that then please reread the patch notes. We lost mobility as well, so we lost the ability to deal our damage better.
Please look at the big picture.
You can still deal tons of damage without those traits. Hell, I’ve dropped 9k eviserates and I don’t use berserker’s power or heightened focus. If anything you’re not seeing the big picture in that by moving those 2 traits to grandmaster slots just by going the full 30 into either one (or both) will award you +300 power, and/or +30% critical damage & +3% to burst skill damage that will stack on top of any additional damage percentages you have already. These are still all unofficial notes, so while speculation is all fine and dandy, jumping to supposed concrete conclusions based on what-if’s and maybe’s is pointless.
In most fights my opponent is capable of getting away from me, so is it my fault if the enemie dies because he did not used his class advantage?
I’m really tired of people running away tbh. If Anet is trying to take down our burst, then they better do something about making true their claims about Necro being a hard class to escape from. Right now we aren’t even close to that and the condi burst is the only small hope to bring them down before the run.
Today a warrior ran away from me about 5 times in WvW, and tried to reengage with stun chain combo each time, he finally either got tired of the yo-yo game or made a mistake, because I finally took him down with a good corrupt and signet combo, but still its absolutely ridiculous how everyone else gets to pick their fights with us, try over and over, then just run away when they screw up. If we screw up one time, we are dead, there is no escaping, short of a cliff being around with Spectral Walk up.
Warrior mobility is way over the top. I feel sorry for warriors in certain circumstances where they need help, but their sustain and mobility is far too high to support having the highest defense and vitality.
There is no amount of buffing they can make that will allow us to keep warriors in a fight against us if they want to leave. With the freebie stability proc on interrupt/fear, stability on shouts, blocks…. you are not keeping them stationary.
While I don’t mind thieves getting away as that is their class MO, warriors are completely pointless to even fight if they are running Greatsword and don’t want to fight. I would imagine they will see the same treatment RTL eles got eventually.
Holy kitten I’d love to have stability when using shouts! In all honesty though I agree with you, and I main a warrior and ranger for the most part. Speaking for wvw only as I don’t play Spvp much / at all, the biggest problem I have with warrior mobility (even as a fellow warrior myself) is the 40% negative condition duration food. All other movement / condition cleansing abilities warriors have have to be traited / runed for, so they’re giving up trait / rune space just to be able to do that. It’s mostly the food that irks the hell out of me. Same goes for the 40% increased condition food, but that’s a different story.
I don’t know how you got 10k healing power, but do tell!
Think he meant 10k healing over 20 seconds via shout heals / signet regen, not healing power broseph.
Going to chime in on this as well real quick, If your first answer to someone saying your build is overpowered is to point to another class that is considered vastly overpowered and say “Well they’re overpowered” then guess what, You’re overpowered.
This isn’t about Warriors no longer being free kills as you say, But maybe just maybe, Anet overbuffed certain aspects of your class recently in regards to how powerful it is, Just like the Necro..Which if you think about it, Is quite hilarious since they said themselves it wouldn’t take much to overpower both of those classes….Yet they still managed to do it.
Coming from someone primarily who plays a Ranger..Trust me when I say you mine as well just admit to being OPed and take the lumps, because the nerfs you’ll have coming to you will end up completely decimating your builds.
I’ve had my builds eat it constantly for the past few months…and i’m pretty much expecting to eat it some more next patch.
That isn’t really what those of us who want an explanation are saying.
Prove to us that the counters we’ve mentioned aren’t enough, and prove it without using WvW 40% food as the basis for the argument. Prove that the build can handle the sort of situations other bunker builds can. Use the counters to explain why the counters aren’t enough, and do it while trying to analyze why they would be enough.
It’s a strong build. It has more survivability than people are probably used to seeing on a Warrior, and it punishes sloppy play with a fairly simple combo. But if you’re going to make claims about it being OP, then I want to see some proof.
At this point, it’s the principle of the thing. All I see now is “just admit that it’s OP”, or “3-4 second stun on a 7 second cooldown gg”, or “you haven’t responded to me? I must be right, it’s OP”. Sprinkle in some claims about the counter-play without defining what quality counterplay means to the poster, and it’s an absolute mess in here.
I just want some critical thinking. Is that too much to ask? Is balance about insuring that a bad player with no build cohesion and blind ability spamming won’t get destroyed? I’ve dropped Thieves basically 100 – 0 with a simple Hammer comkittenf Hammer, because it’s OP with its AoE 600-range stun on a 7 second cooldown that you can basically guarantee to land with Leg Specialist?
At this point, I don’t know what people want. Warriors have generally been about melee pressure/control. Like it or not, this game isn’t new-player friendly. You’re going to get totally blown up by someone who knows what he/she is doing, or if they’re playing bunker, they just won’t ever die.
You’ll never catch a Mesmer and you’ll die without knowing why.
A Thief will perma-blind you or Backstab you for half of your health.
A Ranger will just shoot you forever, then once you get close, will evade 4+ times and you won’t do anything.
A Necro will condition bomb you back into your mother’s womb.
A Guardian won’t die, and meanwhile, you will.
An Elementalist also won’t seem to die, and you won’t know why.
A Warrior will lock you down and grind you into the floor.
An Engi… I honestly never get to fight Engis, so I don’t know. Suddenly sad.
Either way, I don’t understand what they want their fight against a Warrior to be. If you get chain-stunned and killed, it’s probably going to be frustrating. Ok. That doesn’t make it OP. If anything, stun is one of the most counterable things in the game.
So I’ll continue to wait for someone to try harder at proving it’s OverPowered. To prove that it’s too powerful in the game and needs to be toned down because it’s crippling sPvP, PvE, or WvW.
Note: 1v1 roaming matches have absolutely no substantial impact on the WvW match itself.
I personally don’t like the idea of switching between different modes, which is what you do with the weapon switch. I never got to terms with Druids in WoW for that reason, mode switching isn’t for everyone!
Except, in GW2, it really is for everyone. Every class plays like a Druid, since every class requires you to constantly change “form” if you’re going to get the most out of them.
I don’t like that style of play, and so I don’t change weapons much, no matter what Arenanet thinks about it. Which unfortunately makes the game play even more lacking in complexity than it already is.
It’s actually pretty sad that Arenanet didn’t just pick the standard MMO model with tons of abilities on quick bars that you manage yourself. There are so many things that are awesome about this game, but the thing you do 99 % of the time (killing stuff) is far less interesting than it could have been.
This game’s entire combat mechanic was built around avoiding the mess of hotbars to begin with. I personally hated having a billion skills that would go unused, or only had 1 purpose to them. Now what I could see happening in the future is being able to change out what attacks you can bring with a weapon set (like swapping utilities), but hhhheeeellllll nnnnooooo to additional hotbars.
As for killing stuff being uninteresting: you make the game however interesting or boring you want. If you don’t want to switch weapons and just sit there with your longbow skills on cooldown don’t get mad at the game then. That’s just how you want to roll.
I’m sure this thread will see a hundred posts from people explaining nothing while telling you how easy it is for them to kill thieves. (no offense, Kronyx^)
You may also get advice like “I just use scepter and altruistic healing” or the standard “guardians do so much self healing thieves are a joke, you must be doing it wrong.”
The fact is, while other classes are spec’ing to kill people guardians spec to run across the map, and then hide being other people.
My newest 80 is a thief, and I am horrible at playing it, but I took the trait to steal boons, because there was nothing else to take…
Long story short I remember that I could steal boons while fighting a guard that had popped Save Yourselves. I stole his retaliation and protection, and it left me feeling sorry for him.
I slaughtered the poor guy without needing to steal any boons, and without even knowing what the hell I was doing.
In recent memory I can only recall one guardian that did enough damage to be a threat, and he dropped like a sack of potatoes.
The 1 on 1 balancing in this game is some of the worst I’ve ever seen, and your chances of beating a thief that off-hands a pistol are non-existent.
You aren’t gonna beat one that used a pistol and off-hands a dagger either.
…you should probably avoid ones using a shortbow too.
1v1 me, we’ll see how your words stack up.
^ This and if dueling ever happens I’d love to see how big your game is vs your talk. Thieves are easy as hell on my Guardian. To answer OP’s question how you build your Guardian, and how you want to play him will give you an idea of how you’ll fair in a 1v1. I.e. support / AH Guardians might have a rougher time than say offensive / meditation focused Guardians.
My only complaint about those builds or blind-reliant builds is that even if you block a move that applies blind, you still get blinded. Makes about as much sense as thieves not getting revealed when they get blocked.
There are only two changes I’d like to see:
1) Flashing Blade: can teleport without selecting a target
2) Zealot’s Defense: keep the mechanic but get rid of the root when activated
I swear all I want for Christmas is being able to use flashing blade and judge’s intervention without needing a target lol
As Nexed said you gotta have a bit more control with pressing F1 as a necro vs other classes. If only Ranger’s F2 was as responsive as the necro’s F1 lol…
All I’m getting from here is that anyone can “get out” Perma-Stun?
In other word, anyone can “eaily get out of” Perma-Stun?
Thanks for telling me that Theifs Perma-Stealth can be “easily escapable”
I’ll share this with the remaining community, including Thief.
I’m sure they’ll find this Breaking News quite Interesting and Suprising.
Once again, II will make this very clear..I’’m talking about the constant (Perma) Duration of of Warriors Hammer Stuns
Once a Warriors Hammer knocks you down, you are instantly unconscence-due to Stun duration, and as you regain consicence from Stun duration; another Stun Blow is Initiated while still remaining on the ground, than again and again until the Final Blow.
Why not Admit to your Hammers Perm-Stun ability?
Why the Fear of Admitting?
I’m Not asking for Warriors Damage to be Adjusted but for thier Hammer Stun Duration to be adjusted.
(I Hope I make myself more clearer)
-Afterall, I have Nothing against Warrior Class -
Oh Christ don’t tell me there’s going to be threads about hammer’s being OP now along with mace/shield. If you don’t want to bring at least 1 stun breaker, or some stability just in case you get hit my some CCs, then don’t kittening cry when you get hit.
This is relevant for you and all the other people crying that these weapons are ‘OP’ when all that have is 1 purpose alone:
I personally don’t do it, but it is an easy way to find people to fight, especially catching people solo or in small groups. Very cheap and annoying, but the puzzles are in a open pvp environment so it’s gonna happen unfortunately
Back in my day, we used to thank the gods of whatever mmo we were playing at the time for an update. Hell, you could go months without a content update or anything major with classes. Kids these days, with their youtubes, and cable modems….no respect!
999999 hp or 0 mean nothing in wvw. pets dont have cleave or spammable aoe attack, they stop when attack and stuck to a single target.
Actually drakes have a cleave attack on all their moves, and hit pretty kitten reliably. Also one of the best F2 pets in game imo (river and marsh drake only though…ice/salamander F2’s are weak)
Basically you can’t shoot harpoon gun skills backwards i.e. you’re swimming away from an enemy, but still shooting at even though your back is turned to them. Also the projectile speeds for them have been fixed.
Even at 2000 units that’s enough distance for you to break combat (therefore regen all hp lost and being able to catch up to people) while your pet keeps someone in combat. It was fun having 5000 units but I don’t think this is going to make that great of a distance.
Title says it all. There should really be more than a dolyak and stag helmet for Norns. Granted both helms mentioned look incredibly kitten, but for a race of hunters you’d think there’d be more options / types of horned helmets.
Sword is definitely a faster weapon than the mace, and the #1 chain finished can hit at least 1 enemy 3 times (each hit having its own chance to crit, so you can crit up to 3 times in 1 hit.) Flashing blade (sword #2) is good for both popping in and getting a few quick hits in before the mobs turn to fight back, and it blinds on hit, and is on a 10 second cooldown or so so it’s good for negating a charged up attack that you would normally have to dodge out of. Lastly sword #3 is good for straight up damage as mobs tend to not run around too much, and against ranged enemies the ranged attack absorb can be pretty awesome at negating some otherwise nasty ranged attacks / combos. Overall I’d say it’s a matter of playstyle choice between the two. Sword is much more reliant on its autoattack for damage, but it does proc VoJ every chain finisher due to the x3 chain finisher. If anything just give it a whirl and see how you like the feel of it compared to mace! =)
I’ve been doubtful about this class before, since I don’t really do PVP and I’m really interested in high level PVE content; however people has been saying Necro is a waste of time for PVE and sincerely, when I tried Necro some weeks ago I felt he was very lackluster in terms of damage (I only played it up to level 8 because I got bored…).
I want to retake my Necro, but IDK where or how to begin and if it’s even a good idea to max him for high level PVE, considering I have a Ranger, Reve and Guardian.
Necros are so good right now in both PvE and PvP. Either power builds or condi builds the trait lines are amazing for them and once you get the Reaper elite unlocked and going it’s even better. There’s a good amount of build variety you can choose from to play with, the weapons are interesting and blend in with Shroud skills really well if comboed right, and overall the class is just really good. I’m not gonna lie I kittening love Necro shouts more than I do Warrior shouts now.
So in conclusion yes, Necros are good. They’re kitten good.
Why don’t you noobs try changing your builds?
So, please, do tell what build a ranger use to survive Salazan with skill rather than pure luck?
You must suck on ranger then if you couldn’t beat him lol….God help you when you reach some of the other bosses then! All trolling aside I used GS and axe/axe and did fine. This is what I used to beat him:
Completely agree with OP, GW2 is imo hands down the best MMO and arguably the best game ever made. You can’t go back to old MMO’s after this.
Agreed because both games focus on your skill with your class/champion, the synergy with teammates, and how skillful your enemy is. From a pvp standpoint exotic gear in GW2 is meant to be easy to acquire so that you get the look you want, while getting the stat combos you’re buidling around so you can get right into doing what you want to do: pvp. So a game that rewards people who spend time mastering their class mechanics as opposed to rewarding someone who wins because the numbers on his gear is better than someone elses because he spent 5 weeks grinding out gear will always have my vote.
I actually got 1 exotic, and 1 Zap precursor from the chests….everything else has been greens though. I did stare at Zap in my inventory for quite awhile wondering if it actually happened lmao.
I personally love using scepter / torch for when I want to apply some heavy dps as the immobilize on the scepter is great for setting up smite / purging flames. Best part of that combo is while both are hitting the enemy you can queue up zealot’s flame (since it acts as a shout and can be used while other moves are channeling), and then activate it again to throw it at the enemy. Hammer has some great dps as well just from the raw damage it brings to the table. Throw in some crit chance on either weapon set and you’re going to see some awesome numbers fly up!
They buffed RAMPAGE!
Warriors are competitive now! Let’s all hold hands and be happy!
The real Warrior buff these last few patches, have been the fact that they are actively nerfing other loved classes. This sounds crazy, I know.
Indirectly this is giving Warriors a HUGE buff, because when everyone is lowered to poo-poo status, WE WILL, float out on top as the smelliest and meanest one.
To be honest, I’d rather ALL classes be POWERFUL, DIVERSE and OP in their own sense, than have all classes in the game be dragged in the nerf mud and end up like lowly Warriors.
. . I don’t want this game to end up like other popular games (LoL, WoW, etc) where they simply make all classes/champions homogenous in order to easier balance the game . . . .
You must be truly terrible at LoL if you think all the characters are homogenous. Also why the negative nancy attitude there? If you actually read the patch notes rather than frothing at the mouth in re-re rage, a lot of classes got upgrades / improvements. The only actual nerf of any kind was terror’s damage reduction. That’s it. Everything else were fixes. Stop being a kitten and do some actual play testing before crying on the forums.
My current build runs like this:
Main Weapon: Hammer (5% damage increase sigil)
Secondary weapons: Scepter / Torch (20% chill chance when crit on scepter, 60% chance to remove boons on crit to enemies on torch)
20 Zeal – With Binding Jeopardy and Fiery Wrath.
30 Valor – With Meditation Mastery, Retributive Armor, and Monk’s Focus.
20 Honor – With Superior Aria, and 2-Handed Mastery.
Utility Skills: Judge’s Intervention, Retreat, Contemplation of Purity, and Renewed Focus as my elite.
The overall focus of this build / weapon combo is to capitalize on the near constant burn effect that you can place on enemies, and the fact that you have 2 immobilize skills that also apply vulnerability on enemies is AWESOME in PvP / PvE. Plus with the scepter / torch combo you can have 3 aoe’s up at once (Smite, Zealot’s Flame [which works like a shout and can be activated while casting other skills], and Cleansing Flame.) This weapon / build focus is also geared at not having to worry about having someone targetted to do damage to them, so thieves and mesmers who try to abuse their invis skills can’t really do much when I can essentially set fire to everything around me, then just control / pound on them with the hammer skills. Also the scepter / torch moves are on crazy low cooldowns, so you can easily use all your scepter / torch skills to initiate, swap to hammer, and if they get some distance on you switch back to scepter / torch and everything will be up again. My utlities are all geared around breaking stuns, gap closing, and turning my conditions into boons. Lots of people are going condition damage these days it seems, and the fact that we can turn any conditions to boons for us is insanely powerful. My gear is mostly Power / Vitality focused, with Precision, Toughness, Healing Power, and Condition Damage / Crit Damage peppered in where I can. ATM My Guardian has about 3.2k attack, 2.6k armor, 22-30% crit chance, 50% increased crit damage, and almost 18k health. My Guardian is at his tankiest with his hammer due to the protection symbol proc from the hammer autoattack, and if you use the blast finisher on #2 when it’s up you and nearby allies gain retaliation which is always great. Lastly his runeset is the Superior Vampirism set. Did that for the 5% lifesteal chance, 100% lifesteal chance when you use your healing skill, and that mist form when you drop below 10% health has saved me on so many occasions when severely outnumbered in wvw to escape as you can heal and/or pop utilities while in mist form and they can’t touch you.
Hope that helps!
spvp is ruining the game for the rest of us.
if you will not split the skills, then end it please. only a tiny tiny tiny fraction of the playerbase even uses that mode of the game.
But…but…Esports! Esports everywhere! /Sarcasm
I won’t deny that you’re right in that there’s a ton more warrior running about than there was previously, but that may also be due in part that since release warriors have been a popular class to create. Now that warriors have not only multiple builds and utlities that work well, but lots of weapon set variety on top of that, lots of people have been dusting off their warriors or making one to give them a go.
I typically see more thieves, guardians, and necros than I do warriors usually, but then again my playtime hours are scattered all over the place due to my work schedule, so I’m prob not seeing the NA prime time warrior rush.
I really wish Braham’s Helm didn’t remove facial hair. Clipping be kitten ed I want to see that helm + my norn’s kitten beard! I will however say that the new norn face that has the wicked scars / blind eye looks awesome with the helm.
I like it. I use the double endure pain setup when I use it, and with popping balanced stance before using the heal (just in case, never know what might happen in a big fight) I can swing away for what feels like an eternity before I have to actually watch my health lol. It’s a ton of fun in big fights. Small fights not so much as your enemies will actually wait for the timer to run out on the heal.
You are not alone in this thought my friend. =)
So said the RANGER player…
A 12 second CD 3-4k heal is horrible, because of its cast time… And its horrendous animation. I’m not even going to say anything else because you will just report me.
Actually my first main character was my Warrior, followed by my Guardian, and recently my Ranger. I’ve put up only a few videos of my ranger alt because once I got him to 80 I started recording videos around the same time. Also look at my account name and my warrior’s name in my signiture if you don’t believe me. Don’t assume kid, it makes you look stupid.
Is that all you have to say, because that does not matter. My first character was a thief however that does not mean its my most played character, it just means I know how to deal and fight thieves better.
Also it does not discuss the topic at hand at all, it only boosts your ego, something a kid would do.
It feels like your just trying to bury your mistakes.
I guess you weren’t paying attention when I said my 1st and primarily main character is my warrior, but that’s cool. You are correct though in that I forgot to contribute to the actual thread at hand, so there’s that.
Moving away from our healing signet debate since I get the feeling we’ll be going in circles about it until that actual patch hits, warrior dps isn’t going to suffer a substantial loss as you and a few others are saying. Yeah berserker’s power is getting bumped to grandmaster, but it is also getting increased percentages as well (going from 3/7/12 —> 5/10/15.) This also allows you to gain access to having increased damage when endurance is not full via stick and move minor trait. Even if that damage increased is <5% it’s all percentages that will build up your damage output.
As for conditions / being kited to death: soldier’s runes (for shouts), runes of hoelbrak (-20% condition duration), Lyssa runes (lose all conditions and gain all boons on using elites), Melandru runes (-15% condition duration, -15% stun duration), sigil of generosity (60% chance to give 1 condition to an enemy), and sigil of purity (60% chance to just remove a condition) are just some of the ways that you can shed conditions without even having a specific condition cleanse utility in your hotbar or using any condition counter traits. If you choose not to use any of these or the condition cleanse stuff available to warriors then don’t cry when you get bogged down with conditions. If they were that much of a problem you’d adapt your build to be able to counter it. Not to mention with mending on a 20 sec cooldown soon not only can you sustain yourself with a moderate heal, but you shave off 2 conditions right off the bat.
If you can’t adapt your build to optimize it for not only how you want to play, but anticipating how an enemy player may use conditions in their favor against your build then you’re destined to fail.
My Norn Vanguard Warrior Setun, showing off Vigil and cultural pride! For the spirits!!
there is inherent design flaw in melee vs range in this game
ranged has no disadvantage even when trying to widen the gap because they can CAST while moving. this means melee will always dps only a certain percentage of the time, while ranged will have 100 percent dps uptime.
in WoW, warrior vs mage, if u close the gap on the mage, he has to try to kite you and his dps is lessened greatly while he is moving.
so gw2 desginers need to make up for this descrepency. yet i have the feeling this critical subtle detail will continue to go unoticed and melee-junkies will have a frustrating time enjoying pure melee builds in this game.
and guys i’ve been playing since release as a warrior. just can’t have fun as a melee warrior in this game. never have, and still can’t. i’m putting this game down and checking back hoping they can improve the melee warrior pvp experience.
are you reading this designers? cough
I use a melee only build and I do just fine. Matter of fact here’s a video showing off my build:
I also have other videos showing off melee-centric combat both with my warrior and my ranger on my channel as well.
You sound like a pug zerger.
I used to do this too.
Sounds like you mad bro. Actually I mostly solo camp turn, havoc squad, or run in a small group. I’ll join up with zergs only if they need backup, which is why I said Meditation builds are handy in all pvp encounters, or did you miss that part when you were kitten? Nice try on trying to make yourself feel better though! Next time don’t try to belittle someone when they present information that is counter to your train of thought. Just makes you look silly. <3
Kind of sounds like he got mad lol…
From what I understand the unblockable hits on the warrior is on a signet (easy to identify), will have x-number of hits that are unblockable (and I guarentee you said x-number of hits will be on a timer that’ll wear off it unused), and have to be traited. Why is everyone having a hissy fit about this? You can spot that kitten a mile away! Hell, if anything it’ll make fighting warriors EASIER just because you can just wait for them to use the signet (it does put a huge signet icon over their heads when anyone uses a signet) then just blind / knockback / heal up / dodge / whatever you have to do to keep yourself up and mobile.
So things to keep in mind about these changes:
1. They’re situational builds for those classes that have to be traited to become usable.
2. These changes were put in place to counter people (not just Guardians) who would pile on boons and just easy mode everything (i.e. d/d ele)
3. Save Yourselves and all the boons we can pile on will still make us extremely viable, these changes will just make some Guardians have more situational awareness now rather than the old ‘hurr durr I hit all my shouts and go where I please’ mentality.
4. Until the actual patch hits numbers and skill effects are subject to change.
At least with Zhaitan out of the way we won’t have to deal with undead karka…..I can’t even imagine how aweful they’d be to fight lol…
A thread started recently in the warrior forums about this here and figured it deserved to be placed in the suggestions section of the forums as well:
But pretty much the idea is that if a stealthed opponents attempts to hit me and I successfully block it, it should count as it normally would if it landed on me and kick that person out of stealth and put the revealed debuff. Not entirely sure why this isn’t in place already.
