Dungeons should be removed, by far the most toxic part of the community.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Waiting-to-go-faster

Actually, PvP is the most toxic part of the community.

I wouldn’t have a problem at all getting rid of this marketing hype of esports and mmo’s.
Remove LS, spvp, dungeons, and let this game grow from there. All for it.

So you basically want GW2 to pander to casuals and no one else.

They’re so very easy to avoid, so why do you want to get rid of something you don’t have to take part in?

Where to farm now?

Kagamiku.9731

Well, prices need to normalize first. The prices are going to be at their cheapest at the start of an MMO, and things will steadily rise in price over time(as people obtain more and more gold for purchasing power). But it’s the job of the GW economist to make sure it doesn’t get out of hand. How much have things changed between now and 6 months ago?

But anyways, I never said inflation didn’t exist, I said inflation was not caused by SW chest farming. The Queens gauntlet gambit farm is an example of what can cause a huge amount of inflation, as people were making 20/30g an hour in silver coins. Money was not being moved around, it was being created. And that’s what can cause inflation.

@Ranger, some people like to farm. That is what they consider fun. It is no different than people that speedclear because they find it fun, or people that chase the world bosses because that’s their fun, or people that repeatedly level a new character. To each their own.

I understand that, but those ppl you just described are doing the farming for fun, and ppl like that usually fell when something is not “right” about the new farming way (Amber) and expect that it gets fixed. Those ppl are not whining on forums after it get fixed, you know?
Those ppl farm for fun.
Ppl complaining in this thread farm for profit, not for fun, that’s very different approach…..

No. People who complain in this thread merely respond to the not too clever ones who think that farming is wrong and that farmers are wrong to enjoy farming.
The ones who ARE complaining and who should shut up are those who try to tell others how to enjoy the game.

Well, the first complain in this topic is basically the name of the topic, which is not made by those “not so clever” ppl as you call them, so just like that…
However if you think about that, yeah, some ppl really believe that farming is bad, and those are right to a certain degree. On the other side, farming is also essential for the market to grow.
But exploiting the unintended glitch/bug like Amber chest spawn definitely isn’t good for the market or the game itself, because it’s causing inflation, like every action that generate above-average gold amount over time.
To those which will respond to this that farming doesn’t generate gold, it does, not directly, but indirectly. Because glitches like this lower prices of certain items, it allows more money to remain ingame (basically lowering the money sink via the Trading post costs).
But the main problem of inflation is the ability to buy gold for real money legally. And that won’t change, ever. Because Anet needs that money unfortunately…

Stopped reading where it’s bolded, because no it’s not.

Why do so many people think they understand what inflation and deflation is when they very clearly do not?

Too bad, I guess I won’t be able to sleep tonight because of how hard I was served by this……

I’ve wasted too much time with people who don’t understand basic economics to explain it all again. Feel free to read my previous posts, though!

Or better yet, just google it…So you understand for future reference.

For starters, the lowering of certain items does not in any way result in inflation. Whether it be directly, or indirectly. What it does is give buyers incentive to purchase those items because they’re at an all time low. Not only that, but the chest farming created almost zero gold except for the minuscule amount from the champ bags. Even dungeon runs are more likely to create inflation. As it actually rewards gold.

The only thing SW chest farming did was move currency around. And make certain items cheaper. That’s all.

If you plan on using healing signets active, then don’t use it at all. Use healing surge instead. It works far better as an active heal. I would only use Healing Signet if you’re a hit or two away from dieing and you need a slight surge of health to stay alive, and even then it’s quationable. You’re better off just downing and letting your teammates res you, so your healsig keeps its passive affect.

Berserker (power/prec/ferocity) would give the fastest means to leveling. If you’re just asking if power/cond build is viable in pve, then sure it is. It just does less damage overall.

Before lvl 60 I guess you only have two stats to work with though. In that case, power/cond might be as good as power/prec, because there is no ferocity to benefit from the precision.

Oh srry I meant cloak and dagger initiative use, so less initiative is needed for it to be used, because when the move misses too much initiative is lost.

Select the "infusion of shadow " trait in the shadow arts traitline, and you’re good to go.

It doesn’t make cloak and dagger cost less initiative, but it gives you +2 initiative everytime you enter stealth, which is just as good.

It’s called being a collector, Impale.

Nothing should only be obtainable through near impossible odds using RNG-based mechanics.
I’m all for minis being aquired through skill and/or gold. But not this RNG based bullkitten.

And worse of all, it’s not even trade-able. Some people get it within the first few stacks and don’t even want it, while others have invested thousands of gold to obtain it and still fall short. It’s ridiculous.

And thanks to Maize Balms and the vendor staying all year round you will still be able to get it, it will just be done over time, like our own personal struggle with the Fractal Tonics in KING, for nearly a full year now.

So get your patient pants on, stop the QQ, farm the lab, get the maize balm recepie, stock on them and get the slow process going on, i can guarantee you will get it before i get my tonic, even as an Uber Casual.

So smile, Zomorros loves you

Yes, I think you being an uber casual is precisely why you can’t understand why there are so many (justified) QQ posts.

I’d be happier if the mini was on sale for a thousand gold. At least then I wouldn’t be mindlessly opening trick-or-treat bags in hopes of getting the mini that may never come.

6k hour, almost 10 legendary, 2 year later the game is still almost the same with some minor changes. Even tho the game focus on cosmetic, majority of the good looking/ unique looking ones are lock behind gem store. This is no different than other f2w mmorpg except its pay to look nice.

You just prove the game’s worth its initial cost. Thanks for playing with us and may you find a new game worthy of another 6k hours.

If you don’t mind, I could use some of your tips and tricks. You can PM or maybe post a guide somewhere. Or just send me any of your gear/gold/whatever you can afford. Have fun and good luck

6k hour consist of doin the same 8 dungeon path each day, and afkin in LA, waiting for the tp, chatting, bsin, and complaining about how this game is like pay to win instead of gear treadmill u have pay to look pretty. How nothing have change much, and every patch brought along more gem store related stuff instead of gettin it doing the content. Even if u can get it through game play, it is usually lock behind more rng, Ghost dog…

I will add as a mini collector and a avid gem purchaser, I am rather ticked that the only way to get this mini is all based on RNG. I have already opened over 5k bags and nothing. I always buy the gem mini’s to complete my collection. I will have to stop now due to this matter.

boohoo to me I know, This is now the only aspect of the game I enjoy ( I am a digital Hoarder)

I understand, Vladimer. I am the same sort — I’m still playing sometimes for a MPB (Miniature Polar Bear) in Guild Wars during the Wintersday event.

If you continue the quest, I will wish you luck, as one collector to another.

I’m not sure you really understand the mentality of a collector, Gaile. I have every single mini in the game. Every. Single. One. For the sake of completing a collection, I purchased 2000 gems for Mr. Sparkles. For the sake of completing the collection, I’ve purchased every gem store mini, even the ones I thought were ugly and would never use. For the sake of completing a collection, I begged and bribed and formed a ToL team and trained for weeks to win a Mini Llama. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on gems, but always on gem store items, because I refuse to convert gems to gold for rewards that can be earned within game. If this mini were to be so unrealistically unobtainable that the statistical expected return would cost over a thousand gold in ToT bags and moreover this amount has to be amassed within a 2-week time frame, it would destroy my collection and eliminate my desire to continue pursuing a complete collection. This would eliminate my desire to further spend gem store purchases on minis, and also remove a core goal that drove me to play and enjoy this game.

Keep in mind that even if you don’t get him this year, the chances of him returning next year are very high. The Bloody Prince is an example, and they even made him far cheaper to obtain than the previous year. I can’t recall any Holiday minis that were not available the following year.

Also, ToT bags will always exist so even when Haloween ends, you will still be able to purchase them.

Isn’t one of the set of halloween minis not purchasable still? (the ones that made/make mini carlotta) Isn’t that why it got put into the purchasable things for corn/nougats/skulls/fangs?

Also ToT bags will almost always exist, but the loot table will constantly change.

I was referring to GW2 dropable/vendor minis, not Gemstore items. They usually come again during sale weeks.

ToT bags loot table wont change until the following Haloween. And if they do remove the pup mini from it, they’ll be sure to add it elsewhere.

I am sure Anet could figure a way to satisfy farming to some extent. For example they could set up something like a Queen’s Arena for farmers where they can go round and round and round for their champs. Throw in the occasional interesting reward or some interesting achievement for that interesting reward in addition to the regular stuffs and there you go…

But they have. Go to Cursed Shore. Or run the champ train in Frostgorge. Or do any of the other dozen world event chains.

But no, those aren’t good enough are they? Because you can’t stand in one place to do them.

Why would they do the others when Coil was clearly more profitable? Frostgorge champ train cant even compare to the amount of champ boxes you could get from Coil AND all the extra trash mobs that also drop loot.

But this is nothing more than a wishful rambling. Anet is so hushhush about who they ban, it’s hard to say if they’ve even banned anyone for such actions. Let alone have a solution that will stop the incidents from happening at all.

Invulnerability skills and capture points

Kagamiku.9731

Pretty sure it shows up as “0” or says “immune” not invulnerable.

Please know terminology before using it – Invulnerable: impossible to harm or damage.

So a warrior basically needs to use their entire skill bar to have 5 seconds (max, only 4 second if not traited) of invulnerability. While a true invulnerability skill gives complete immunity by itself. That is the downside to the skill, and why endure pain can contest a point while invulnerability skill can not. He can enjoy his 5 seconds of fame, because he’ll be dead shortly after.

Signet of Stone (ranger skill) provides immunity to physical damage and that can contest points, so why would a warrior be any different. Please explain.

Those same engineers are utterly hard countered by condition necros.

The point isn’t whether or not endure pain is useful for me, as a non warrior, to see it popped, it’s that the warrior can still attack (unlike most invulns) and hold onto a point (unlike all invulns). Invulns are only balanced because they are mostly defensive and can’t cap, but for some reason endure pain has this special treatment. There is literally no downside to this skill.

That’s because endure pain isn’t an invul…kitten
The downside is that condition damage can still be applied. Or you can just y’know, knock him off the point, because it doesn’t act as a stability, either.

And no one in teamQ tourney is going to use it because a guardian is just so good at supporting and they use teamspeak and all that jazz. Completely different level and seriousness of play. Most TeamQ is still just solo ques who want bonus silver.

I gave you the wrong link, check again. Or you just didn’t watch the whole thing. Some is hotjoin, some is Spvp. He was taking 2v1 in both. Sometimes 3v1.

So yeah, that does take skill, and yeah zerker guardians are quite strong if you know what you’re doing.

Also, it doesn’t matter if it’s hotjoin or spvp, everyone wears the same lvl gear..

There’s a huge difference between hotjoin and teamq/soloq. Hotjoin players are generally unskilled, most of them just want to get their dailies done, or just have some fun. Playing zerker guard at higher levels of play is a lot more difficult then that video implies, you’re not going to be doing 2v1 against competent players. This is an older video of mine from the beginning of the year it’s all tpvp, and as you can tell it’s not all butterflies and sunshine.

I already went over that fact that at least half of the matches shown in the video I linked was either soloq or teamq.

No one is going to win 1v2 or 1v3 against players of equivalent skill regardless of what class or build they’re using.. That’s not the point. The point is a zerker guardian is capable of dishing out a ton of damage and has enough utilities to stay alive while doing so. The point is that it’s a viable build and certainly not underpowered.

Most of the games he’s playing in is exactly 5v5. Those are either solo or teamq. The odds of him playing in a hotjoin game with exactly 5v5 multiple times is slim to none..Not only that, but the maps are also listed in the soloq and teamq map list. I see rifle warriors in spvp all the time, they’re generally bad, but thats besides the point. You only bring up the rifle warriors when he has beat every class in that video, often times outnumbered.

And most of them do have their own cosmetic armors. Just because a few are using starter armor doesn’t discredit how many don’t have it…

Edit: After just skimming through the video, one of the rifle warriros I landed on wasn’t even using starter armor, so I don’t know what to tell you…

I say “need” because those couple stances do more good for you then going all the way into the tactics line and using inferior shouts to try and be a poser support.

Nothing is needed I guess, but it doesn’t stop it from being an inferior build to other choices a warrior has. Most players are going to pick builds that help them win, not because they’re the funnest to play. And the fact I never see a shoutheal warrior is testament to the fact that it’s not nearly as strong as you make it out to be in Spvp.

Also, zerker guardian is one of the hardest builds to take down 1v1 if played right. So they do indeed have other options if you’re willing to learn them.
The guy is indeed very good, but what a guardian can do with enough skill is magical!

They don’t take it because a warrior needs to use stances or they’re severly gimping themselves. Stability and berserkers stance are crucial to almost every warrior build in pvp, and that leaves them with one shout. One shout is not worth going all the way into the tactics line for one 2k+ aoe heal. They’re better off using that third slot for something like endure pain or signet of stamina and forgetting about the possibility of using a warrior to support the team when a guardian does it better with less sacrifice.

And it doesn’t matter if other classes can trait for stability or any other boon, more of something is always better than less of something. Most clases have very little stability options and it’s one of the best boons to have. Protection as well. Neither of which a warrior can provide, and both of which a guard provides relatively easy. The guardian also has reflects and ring of warding.

They’re two completely different classes, and I love them both. I’m sorry, but from experience, it makes absolutely no sense how someone can find the guardian underpowered. Their lack of mobility is my only issue, and only because going from point A to point B feels slow at times, not because I need a way to disengage from a fight.

And yet I never see a warrior run a shoutsheal in pvp. The damage output of a shoutheal warrior who only heals (no party wide protection or aegis or stability or anything else; save for their warhorn skill)) is so bad that it’s not worth running. You also need to grab cleansing ire in the defense line (which is a far better trait line) which leaves no investment into a damage tree.

It’s fine in wvw, but guardians still do that role better and maintain more damage while doing so.

Or 1vZerg… I’ve never seen a Guardian do what this guy does. And BTW I do realise this is an old video. One doesn’t need 11k self heals when you regen more damage than a Zerg does to you.

Are you serious? Since when does two people = zerg. And we know nothing of the builds /armor they were using to attack him with. And I know the damageless build the warrior was using wouldn’t be able to kill them, either.

It doesn’t matter which profession subforum you go to, the posters think their class is underpowered. Disgraceful…

I love playing my guardian and has done well for me in pvp/wvw and PvE. I prefer the warrior in pve, but I prefer the guardian in wvw/pvp. While It’s true the guardian has no real escapes, the object is not to run from every fight. Especially when you’re a guardian with great sustain. Play to win. If you die, so what? Respawn and nothing of value was lost. Especially when supported by teammates, the guardian will far surpass a warriors abilities. A warrior only supports himself, a guardian supports the whole team.

The class got nothing but buffs (even if they’re not the kind which may benefit your build) just be glad you didn’t get nerfed like most other classes.

Congratulations for having more playtime then everybody else, for competing against unskilled/uplevels players and capping easy objectives in eotm, also posting/priding something that you shouldn’t.

I heard when you reach that, the game automatically sends you to a dating website. Not sure if it’s true.

Btw your game graphics looks like poop.

I’d have to say this rude comment is more pathetic than OP’s playtime.
