If i were u id go with MoC since ur running with a GS and only one signet, the 180 passive from stone signet is nice and the o shiet moments shouldnt happen too often where u would need its cd reduction. MoC is a mixed bag since vs good players a GS may be easy to read. But if u land with MoC its a needy xtra 1,5 sec where ur safe and closer to ur lb cd. With ur build in lead the wind i would skip the GS cd reduction trait as u can and want to stay as often as possible in longbow, it often has the utility and is ur main source of dmg. Id also put sigil energy on GS since the times when u swap to it is usually when ur up close, and that xtra dodge can save a life. For serious on point 1v1 sword dagger is better than Gs, and in mid tier pvp u could go steady focus trait on a lb / sword dagger similar build. Weakness is a strong condi trait to pick in a BM line, the more non dmg condis u apply the higher chance the opponent decides to burn a multi function utility to remove em. Untill a dev gives us a confirmation it is hard to tell, especially since they were supposed to have fixed it or some of it in the later patches.
Some claim you cant dodge out of it halfway before it lands, that may sound like a bug, but again we dont know.

History says fixing ranger bugs takes time.

I’d still take a ranger for roaming over a DH, which is more like a slow tank (that can get spiked down when shields are on cd). But of course this is just pure speculation as we dont know the final damage numbers. In the end the DH could be slow in mobility and damage, but still hit harder per hit so that the DPS evens out in a fight. Which can also be a downside, like the reaper, if the enemy mechanic can outmaneuver you.

Good thieves can actually kill the traditional more glassy ranger, but if u are geared/specd more into defense it’s much harder (impossibru?) for the thief.

It’s not easy to tell since people/teams generally arnt used at thinking of rangers in higher SPvP play, especially how things were pre patch june where we had little to contribute with in teamplay. After the trait revamp we have some new options through better trait synergy that is yet to be fully/further tested in higher play, though teams dont have the “guts” (perhaps) to take one for a spin.

But anyway, for instance you can now be fairly offensive with marauder amulet and longbow, and spec defensively so you’re more durable, which is nowhere near the old longbow ranger was before, where you now can be more onpoint. Traits worth mentioning are Beastly Warden/taunt, the condi removal with Wilderness knowledge, Protective ward (protection when taking dmg and give enemy melee weakness), and the trait in Nature Magic that increases revive speed and makes your pet revive ally. The right traits in Nature Magic, Wilderness Survival, and Beastmastery on a marauder longbow/sword&dagger (or with GS) can actually hold its own 1v1, while being useful to Your team by being able to stay onpoint, reach from range, provide party boons, and res people quickly.

But question is always if another class can do it better or better differently, it’s hard to say at this point.

Fourth time it happens to me the last two days, I queue up solo and when entering theres 1 guy/girl disconnected (yellow icon next to playername) before the match starts. And that same person still is allowed to stay disconnected/offline during the whole match – making our team of course lose. The painful part is that you know it from the very beginning and is stuck with it.

Why isnt there a system that autokicks disconnected? And if so, how come this isnt dealt with in this esports game?

Would be great with some dev clarification on what taunt isnt supposed to go through so can tell if its actually bugged or nawt. Im spending some time in a 1v1 arena n they banned taunt since they mean its bugged – but who has really a clue whats what till a dev step up?

We all have our preferences when it comes to visuals in this game, and regarding legendaries I feel they should reflect their status – who wouldnt get Eternity if it wasnt for its great looking skin and that glow.
Looking at this backitem, I feel thats not something I would throw on my character. Dont find it pretty, its strange looking, nothing with resemblance other than fractals? But even then, would you really want to equip something that wouldnt fit the rest of the theme of your character? I’d take Rox Quiver over this on my thief and ranger any day. Not to mention the tons of resources and effort just to get a legendary item.

If Anet wants to keep it Fractal themed, perhaps make that thing smaller, make the backitem all about a belt, or a banner or a cape with some fancy effects like that in the pic, something that would fit all themes/races/classes – or something with resemblance instead of creating something new and strange. I cant put my word on it, it just doesnt taste right.

If u run longbow, Vs good players SD is better since Gs is easy to read and hard to land. SD also gives u plenty of evades n mobility till Lb wep swap is back. But i tend to go with Gs since Im all bout Skin Wars and its easier to just swoop than to turn around and SD #2

Im doing/finishing stuff that I know I shouldnt do in HoT, I want to effectivize the time we have now so that time can be better spent/focused when HoT is out.

For me that is to get the glorious armor set, get as much obsidian shards/karma/laurels as possible, save up gold for new legendary longbow, ascended gearing, make sure the 4 chars I enjoy playing have 100% world and story completion. This is all happening at an average phase so that I dont get too fussed and bored. When I think of it its kinda surprising im enjoying this time since GW2 doesnt have any special content updates till HoT.

Go make a thief and mesmer and have a look at their weapon skills, utilities and traits. Get a feel for their playstyle. Or watch youtubes. Learn their pattern of attack and gain knowledge and excellsior!

Sadly as long as the dungoen mechanics stays as they are, zerk all the way baby! And for someone who does both pve and WvW, they tend to have the same geartype as having seperate ascended gear is costly, at least for me – and zerker works great for both as utilties/trait provide the defense you need if you can handle the content.

Druid will be able to control its pet, and on pet swap the pet will control you. This will last till the next pet swap is off cd, and your character will autofollow the nearest enemy target for its duration. You will gain swiftness and the “Pet Synergy” buff which will click 1-5 of your abilities at a random order without cooldown.

WHats interesting though is that legendaries are tradable, but ascended weapons are not as they are soulbound upon creation. Same stats, yet it could’ve been the other way around.

It would def have been better, back then, if they just made all legendaries soulbound upon creation so that u at least would have to buy the mats if u wanted to bypass the lengty road. It is a bit of shame that legendaries can be sold on TP.

Forgive me if there has been a similar thread (as im not that active on this forum section), but if memory serves me right, shiro doesnt have any way to deal with condis casted by foes in pvp? And with the speed rate the attacks are, a well placed confusion should hurt. Or is the shiro meant to legendswap to a utility that can remove condis? It just seemes this shiro legend is all about rapid opener damage and not letting the opponent prolong the fight.

Anet for some reason decided to add a twin greatsword legendary and a followup, which is why we have this question.

If you observe the patch notes from the last 2 years, you will see ranger is one of the class which got the most buffs.

Just to list a few:

-longbow dmg buff
-GS dmg buff
-reduce dc on shouts
-entangle reduced cd to 60s
-reduce the cd on signets

-countless trait buffs
-etc…

So you went through all the countless patch notes the last two years in detail to come up with that conclusion

Once again, when an item is destroyed, it gets added to the account wardrobe system. That is why we get to keep twilight and sunrise skins after they are destroyed in the forge. It’s like you get a weapon, and you chose to get rid of it, but you still have its skin since it was soulbound. I dont see the issue since we dont get the eternity skin, only what we had spent gold and time to achieve.

Other than that, any legendary that is crafted is not soulbound, thats why people are able to buy them. You shouldnt make a change just for 1 legendary.

How many other legedary weapons give you TWO legendary skins and let you sell the legendary?… Every other legendary doesn’t give you access to the skin(or any legendary skin for that matter) unless you account bind it.

Technically theres no big gain in selling eternity, since currently the cost of making eternity isnt covered with its sell price. Twilight and Sunrise go for over 3k each, Eternity is 5k atm and have been less. It’s not like we get the eternity skin when we sell it, we only gain what we had soulbound which was twilight and sunrise since they are destroyed in the process. In any case we spend gold on making both of them, and any item that is destroyed is saved on the account wardrobe.

I actually just did this, I made twilight for two years ago, and just finished my sunrise to craft Eternity. This process removed my two legendaries but it gave me their skins while Eternity was still tradable. I then sold Eternity for a lil under 5k profit while I still have two legendary skins to use on my ascended greatsword. If t hey were to revert this then that would harm a lot of people since the system allowed for it.

Other than that, any legendary that is crafted is not soulbound, thats why people are able to buy them. You shouldnt make a change just for 1 legendary.

I like diversity, which is the fact that there is a two handed ranged weapon that stands out from the other 1200 range ones.

Put it like this then. I have a twilight already, but Im more leaning towards the sunrise look on my new main class theme (Skin Wars 2 for me). My bet is zerker will always be a safe allround choice, which negates my need of having to change stats, so that the two ascended greatswords I got atm is enough. I could then craft sunrise, and craft eternity, which would unlock sunrise. At the same time I could sell eternity once buy order is at near 4k+, since Im in it for the twi/sun skins. Ill give it some more thought.

Lets say I have a tradable Sunrise and a trusted friend with a soulbound twilight. Could I send him my Sunrise so that he could craft an eternity, and then send the eternity back to me? (would that also unlock Sunrise on his account?).

The same reason why weapons don’t generate energy,mallyx utilities don’t scale with your own condition duration and a unstable mechanic like Death Shroud was not given to them. They are trying to not kitten up.

If ur into Fashion Wars 2 then factor in the different racial t3 armor sets, or even the lore behind the race compared to the ranger.
I went with Sylvari since i felt the skills (like entangle) sort of fits the nature theme of the race, though most of all due to its t3 armor:

While we are not up to date of the 100% we’re getting with this expac, its a good deal for new players as they get all previous content in one pack, and us exisiting players will get much more as time goes on and they release more content (that is tied to HoT). All in all its a good deal, and the price range is market price.

Go with whatever floats your boat, everyone has their opinions. Anything that is strong or weak right now may be the opposite right now or may be different in the future.

I’d say the power ranger is in a better spot now than what u were used to for a year ago, since we now have better trait synergy options/condi removal. This is from a roaming perspective though, for zerg/group play we are still not that wanted. As for the other specs I cant comment on, though opinions vary on that subject. Many feel trapper builds are a goner after they removed thier throw-range.

If you’re more into the group play/synergy, a warrior is a strong choice, which is still also a solid roamer. We have yet to see how the druid plays out though, it is speculated that itll be centered around support.

- Full zerker travelers LB/GS. Been running this in both roaming WvW and mid tier ranked SPvP since the trait revamp. It’s a durable 1v1 build that can to an extent hold its own on point as long as you dont misuse LB #3 and #4. Due to better trait synergies it can handle pressure better than the old glassbow which this build draw similarities to. I pick zerker amulet as the power longbow variant isnt made to take too many hits in the first place, so I take raw damage over the little extra healthpool marauder provides (pluss troll unguent is a heal over time).
Key pointers is the synergy in survival skills granting fury and removing 2 conditions, among with 15 ICD taunt on birds F2 for offensive/defensive use. While it is a power build it also has a good upkeep of conditions to apply such as poison, vuln, blind, weakness.

- Cons: Struggles with competent s/f and d/d (cele) ele, and condi mesmer if they outlast your burst. Birds can die fast if not managed.
