Okay I’ll get my HP Envy out with it’s Nvidia 840M and Intel Core i7 4510U, check for updates, and play some GW2. But I’m doing this after some sleep tho, end of day now.

I find lag is awful until I DeNagle and consider lowing my MTU setting a bit. Just don’t lower MTU too low, as making it smaller can create other problems rather than fix them. 1500 is default. MTU = Maximum transmission unit. You can read up about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximum_transmission_unit
Nagle you can read here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagle's_algorithm
Also Windows 10 has a problem of not saving your WiFi MTU setting between computer reboots. Ethernet is fine.
Another thing to check for, power saving features. Try maximum performance. I know right, but power saving can really ruin your connection if it gets the chance.

Makes me wonder what crashes your game, to the point where it’s actually breaking your audio.
Honestly if I was the op, and actually cared about being in the guild, making this thread was the wrong way about doing things. And honestly your actions must have been considered inappropriate. An apology goes a long way. If an apology is not enough to correct a mistake, then you have proof that it wasn’t worth your loyalty to be in that guild. You would be the better man for being able to accept that you made a mistake. Unless of course you see that there was no mistake and no need to apologize, which case, stroll like the fat man, haters gonna hate. 8D
Hopefully it’s not a hardware issue, and just software. Try the latest drivers, make sure to uninstall previous ones first.

Michael Henninger said he look it. Not sure when he respond again but Anet is looking at it.
Yes it is true that he said that, and that we don’t know what is happening in the background. But people care about results.

I have windows 10, and Nvidia, and up to date, and play Guild Wars 2 64x to casually play PvE. Why do I not get these problems? :Ua

So from what I can learn from this thread so far is, basically if something causes you a chargeback, outside your control, you’re screwed anyways, and enjoy your permaban? So does it not matter what evidence you provide, or what compensations you wish to offer? Well then policy is like a brick wall, hard and stupid. At least Nexon lets you buy prepaid cards and pay off your debt, so you can play again. Come on ArenaNet, I consider you better than Nexon…

Top of page, click on my account, then click on redeem a code. It’s a big red button, unless you are color blind, which is understandable.
Yes, that’s exactly what I mean. Make sure you never lose it either.
Can’t he just give you the game code? Nobody has put it to an account yet right?
Um, I find the battery for gaming laptops to be incase I want to move locations in the house or somebody elses house. Otherwise I treat it as a mobile desktop. Of course if you decide to use the laptop as something other than gaming, it works quite well on battery.
Definitely get either an Intel core i5 with 4 cores and above 3 gigs, or a core i7 with at least dual core hyperthreading with at least 2.8 gigs when gaming. READ on the Intel Ark website about the CPU. You want at least 6 to 8 MB of Cache, and at least 4 CPU threads minimum. If you can get more than this, you are doing well. It will either be a Haswell CPU, or a Skylake CPU. Newer models will ship with Skylake.
You want at least 400 shader cores on the video card that has dedicated VRAM. If you can afford to get more, go get that. You should aim for one of the cards from Nvidia under the 900 series M, or if you want you can get one of the really good ones from AMD, which would be somebody elses advice. But please look up the specifications of the card, and make sure it is at least GDDR5 on the VRAM for the graphics card, dedicated. At least 400 shader cores. Try and get more than this.
Make sure the computer has 8 gigs of RAM, this is for system memory. If you go for less, you will regret.
Buy online for your purchase, and buy from a reputable company. You will save money so that you can get a better deal. If you buy from a retailer that has a physical store, expect physical store retail prices. If there is a sale, it’s probably a clearance sale, research the difference between the offerings of those laptops, and compare it to the laptops that are available now.
Please please please, look up the customer reviews of the laptop you are buying. This will save you heartache. Some laptop models have major issues, such as the hinge breaking on the monitor, the monitor dying, the hard drive dying, the sound dying, the keyboard dying, the case breaking apart like brittle plastic, overheating issues.
Please do not buy a Samsung laptop, they glue their computers together now, to save costs, but the end result is, serviceability will be a major disappointment. Imagine wanting to clean the cooling fans later on. Good luck doing it yourself, and very much good luck finding a technician who will want to touch a computer that was glued together.
Find out what the maximum resolution the laptop supports. If you are unable to find out, don’t touch it. It needs to at least be able to do 1080p these days (1920 × 1080).

Only way you’re going to get anywhere is to talk to a senior staff member. Anybody below that is going to follow policy by the letter.
when I tried my best to explain that all my friend is going to do is buy me the game, or in this case, the serial key.
What clearer example of ‘selling of accounts’ (or keys, same thing) did CS need?
Sorry, I get what you’re trying to do and there’s nothing nefarious about it, seemingly, but from CS’ PoV you’re basically trying to sell a key.
Selling for $0, sounds like a good deal. LOL
And not even an account, just a serial key.
Just persist, they tend to say that it’s final to deter people who did cheat. It’s merely a dissuasion for actual cheaters to pester them.
If it’s more than 3 days, you could try the sticky thread.
What clock rates are you using on that CPU/GPU?

Hopefully something can be done. This whole matter is very disconcerting. Once again why I say that zero tolerance policies are like weapons of mass destruction. Is the nuclear option always appropriate?
Check mail. Just make sure that other mail is not hiding it. I think there is a maximum visible mail of 5 that contains items, and when you clear those you see more.
Yea…I wouldn’t bump this.
Search “Mac Client” and you’ll see this topic has been beat to death for years.
The condescending attitude will get you nothing but a vacation from the forums.
So an attitude of patronizing superiority which = condescending attitude would get a suspension? Look at it from the OP’s perspective, customer who paid money, help, your product doesn’t work, is anything going to happen? But yeah it has been beaten to death for years, that’s why the OP is being condescending. But to suspend a person for that reason is enough to kill customers. Think about it.
Try this
Open command prompt with administrator privileges. (Windows 10, right mouse click the start icon, and then from the pop-up menu)
From there, type the following:
netsh winsock reset
The command prompt window will instruct you to restart the computer.
I hope that this does fix the issue.
Low to medium settings? You gotta be kidding me. I know that it will do better than low to medium.
I have a HP Envy laptop with an Intel Core i7 4510U. That’s basically a dual core hyperthreading CPU that will play GW2 at 2.8 GHz. It has an 840M Nvidia graphics processor. It plays Guild Wars 2 at max settings at a resolution of 1366 × 768.
Yes max settings. Your computer will do just fine, because it’s not far from what I already play on my laptop, and that’s with max.
1 button to 1 action. But the definition of what an action is, changes depending on the interpretation. Some might say, one skill. Some might say double clicking is an action. Some might say double clicking is 2 actions. I know one thing tho, more than likely Anet won’t tell you if something is right or wrong, but will refer you to their ToU. I find the safe way to play is, if you have to question if something is right or wrong, more than likely it’s wrong. This applies to exploits as well.
It will run Guild Wars 2.
I’m guessing this is a package deal. How much are they asking for the GPU alone? Could it be swapped out for something with more bang for buck? But yes it will run Guild Wars 2, and many other games as well. But if you say, wanna play a game like “Ark Survival Evolved” you’ll be playing on medium to low graphics. Witcher 3 will be somewhat like that as well. But I know Guild Wars 2 will be fine with that GPU, because I have an Nvidia 840M on my laptop, and it has the same core count and should pretty much perform the same.
A GTX 970 is very capable of max LOD. o _Oa
I read people were banned cause of using multiple IDs from the same IP.
What? Are you talking about multi-boxing, or several people on the same IP address? Or… what are you talking about?
Who got hot but was too lazy to play it? XD
What happens when you take the mouse out and put it back in again? disconnect/reconnect
Sorry the scythe is way too small. I can barely see it ;p
Probably Anet reducing noise again. xD
Can you imagine being discriminated against based upon how much or how little you have spent on the game?
I think my next MMO will be virtual reality. And I know a heap of other people will be as well. So if there is a Guild Wars 3, it will be interesting to see it incorporate VR into a build that isn’t half baked. Not investing into virtual reality would be a big mistake. My concern is the whole locking down of headsets. Occulus Rift for example is locking down games to their product only. This is a dumb move, one which has turned me right off that tech, and more towards their competitors.

Even I have noticed that there is a problem with the system. Something iffie is going on with it’s coding.
I’m sure you re-checked your code incase you typo’d. Just don’t keep entering it over and over, else they might block you from the system.
I’m sure somebody will sort you out correctly. There’s no kitten good reason why they would permanently ban your account and refuse to unlock a kitten thing with their fingers stuck in their ears. Obviously with the other euros going through just perfectly fine, 10 euros bouncing will more likely show that it was the fault of not you. In fact, you could even show your proof to them, and even get the company involved to sort it out with ArenaNet if there was them not believing you. Just be patient and wait, it’s a holiday period.
Um, if they declined it, how did you receive anything for that particular payment? Are you sure you got gems? And if you did get gems, it’s pretty clear it was not you who kittened up. The rest of the payments went through. Clearly your bank screwed up. Even a person with an IQ of 50 can see something went wrong. And why would you pay 300 euros but chargeback 10? I honestly doubt it was a chargeback, but rather, it never went through in the first place, and you didn’t get gems for it.
Are you banned right now? No? Then calm down and wait for the holiday period to end.

Donate a pile of 4K monitors to ArenaNet, I’m sure they’ll upgrade the UI in no time at all. XD
I feel your pain. :/

They have to close the account upon the request of a chargeback. Sorry but your friend is screwed. You might be able to convince customer support to apply a new code to the account to unlock it. Happy gaming!
The new code would need to be purchased.
Artifacts?
I bet you left the thread to read the rest of the forum.
2 things that scare me, the idea of losing my hands, or going blind. You inspire me. Makes ya think of the things you have, while you have them, rather than when you no longer. hugs
Why does it matter?
But sure, not sure if there is an Aussie server hiding on the NA servers, but I play on the Henge of Denravi server.
Let’s see now
Xenon processor has 165 million transistors, 3 cores, 6 threads.
Haswell i7 processor has 1.4 billion transistors, 4 cores, 8 threads.
This is not including Haswell-E or Skylake, or any of the other great running CPU architectures, or their revisions.
But you can see which core can run Guild Wars2, and which doesn’t stand a chance.
Its mostly a problem of your PSU that it shuts down under heavy load.
10 minutes every time?
You know a feature that should be added to commanders?
Microphone, cause then anybody in the area can hear commands being issued. Blacklisting that person will block microphone. /gg
Overkill much. I consider my PC to be good, yours is just blowing money into homeless people’s faces for a good laugh.
Normally this game cannot crash your computer, unless, hardware fault, or driver issues. The game itself on it’s own has no such capabilities.
Why this game doesn’t let you change the colors is beyond me. I know a few color blind people irl who would find this game annoying to play.
This game has a lot of options open to them for how they want to have fun. Why complain about an aspect of the game that you don’t want to play anyways? And if you are playing it, are you doing what is more useful for a developer? To state why you wholeheartedly believe there is a problem, how the problem is ruining the experience, what could be done to improve it, and have an open discussion about potential obstacles and unintended game mechanics/gameplay. Some people have already been doing that, to some degree, or even more so the entire degree. But because it’s not posted about on reddit, I wonder if it’s going on deaf ears.
Thermal dynamics can make the connections loose and not in complete contact. This can cause the card to drop down to 8x instead of the 16x it should be running at.
1 and 2 yes, 3 is more of wish, but no guarantees of any kind possible.
They are fully aware of the problems of banning IP addresses.
Why would they not be? And yes you’re right.
