This is the type of post that makes me not to try and help people on forums anymore.
They complain of a certain topic, someone offers a possible solution, but they get ignored and would rather argue to death about something else. Oh look squirrel!
Try Sweet FX, to enhance youre graphics quality if you wish. Haven’t tried it myself but seen the YouTube vids of it and looks pretty cool.
Develops nervous tick, and starts to sweat profusely at the thought of GW3
Simple wish. It doesn’t bug out and not properly fixed, like last year.
Now a com has to use guess work instead of rough roll call to see if his zerg is lvl 80 or made up of upscaled in deciding on tactics before hand (although weps can be a give away).
Why they can’t just add an “open all” option so you can open any bags you have a stack of all at once I don’t know.
If memory serves, there was a client crashing bug some time ago (two years ago? ) linked to overloading the inventory (cant remember the exact details soz).
As far as magic find and bags are concerned, Iv seen this quite a bit in GW2 over the years. Its as if one department is unaware of what another department is doing, leaving us, the players somewhat bemused>>.

Any chance to let Sonder the Seller to trade in skulls/ nougat and fangs? Currently there is no way (unless i missed something) to upgrade these items, and will be stuck with them until next year.
He is labeled as the festival merchant and did trade in these items up until ‘The Nightmares Within’ release.
Thanks.
One word, Fun. If its not your thing don’t do it.
Personally I think the Halloween events are the best of yearly events, and cant stop giggling at the Mad King’s jokes, even though I have heard tham all a hundred times. The clock tower is still a challenge, and a blast, and I only really do it for the challenge
(and yes, I am a vet for my sins)
The Mordremoth in SW, whilst having the same aggro distance (from what I have seen at any rate), they have a much larger aggro leash* than any other place in GW2.
As for the Thrasher champ, if you find you have vines popping up, either kite backwards, so it gets distracted and re-engage, or strafe sideways, in which case it is possible to out run them (if you have at least 25% speed buff up).
Probably doesn’t relate to the OP but anyway here goes. If you are under the recommended level of a map, say level 60 on a level 80 map, you will draw aggro from creatures which would other wise ignore you at the same given distance.
(*Follow you much further before breaking aggro)
Players fighting? Some players would fight if they were the only ones in a room with a mirror. Do not get into arguments with them as you probably will be feeding their ego’s.
The LFG tool is your friend, and the block function is your best friend. Use both at will.
Live long and prosper!
+ 1 to everything said so far. My pet annoyance—the HP of the arrow carts. Were they made in China by forced labour, because they feel like they are made of tissue paper. Three or four hits from an ele and its good night ac. Trouble is, my posting this and knowing anet, if they did add some HP, they would go way overboard with the HP buff >>.
Was in the first Beta test and didn’t like what I saw, plus the cost.
But Shadey, you have to pay xxxx and pay a monthly fee from other mmo’s. (see this argument a lot)
Look I don’t care what other people do with their hard earned money on other mmo’s that is their business, but it seemed to me that monthly fees were the biggest con ever! I f I was going to be asked to pay monthly, I would NOT be playing—-period!
But, but, you are supporting anet by buying it.
Look I have played every day since launch. It was a blast. I payed for that entertainment and in return myself, like countless others have supported GW2, by helping others and being part of the GW2 experience. An MMO is after all, nothing without its players.
To put it into context, I have played ALL of GW1, and purchased/played ALL of the associated expansions, which were fantastic for the time
However, my customer loyalty only goes so far, and to be perfectly honest has been stretched mightily thin on occasion over the past three years. So I guess Im saying, when it comes out, I may, or may not buy it, I’m really on the fence at the moment. But what will not change my mind is any rhetoric or petty arguments to change it.
Both actions are bannable offences..
Citation needed.
I have yet to hear of anyone getting banned nor ever read a Red Post stating this is indeed a bannable/punishable offense.

From the GUILD WARS 2 USER AGREEMENT :-
8 (d) Use, or provide others with, any “hack,” “cheat,” “exploit” or “mod”;
Doubtful your going to find a direct link saying ‘afk’, more a sort of broad brush stroke to cover all areas, so an element of common sense is required. In this case the term ‘exploit’ covers it (whether they like it or not—-probably not).
Basically an exploit gives an advantage over someone who is actually at their keyboard, and in the case of afk farming, they are potentially capable of doing more than the average person who sits at their key board, who only to leave it for short duration’s.
It also explains why there is a kick system in place to remove people from the server, whom are afk for extended periods of time.
If they are there and it seems pretty obvious they are afk farming, take a screen shot and send it in to anet, and let the devs take it from there.
(when I say obvious I mean by that they are there a long time, not just a few minutes)
You are the owner of the guild. No if, ands, or buts about it.
They gave it to you and left. They have nothing to say now about who own it. If they want to run a guild differently, they can start one up and do the hard work themselves.
If I were you I would take away their guild message privileges, even if it causes bad feelings and they leave the guild. No one should EVER use guild messages to make personal remarks or to promote dissent. They have shown by this that they can’t be trusted to act properly.
Basically this.
Personally I would skip past the ‘remove Guild Privileges’ and move immediately to the Order of the Golden Boot, and promote them out of the Guild asap, with a message to thank them for dropping in, but next time, keep moving to the end of the Pier—-then drop in!
(btw—in the age of internet, where people can be ‘instant friends’, they hardly qualify on the most basic of standards)
Play GW2.
Go back to GW1
Equip skills in GW1, get your team ready and go forth to fight/explore.
Get into fight (in GW1, if you cant see anything to fight, it just means they are hiding)
Suddenly panic, and mash evade button—-where is my evade button!!!!! (die).
(Oh ye, GW1 critters are like the zombie apocalypse, they just want to eat you alive)
Just leveled up on AP and it was supposed to give 1% extra karma as a reward. Checked it before hand, and after, the 1% Karma was not rewarded.
Seems to be yep. Iv played for the most part unranked, but not that many, but two things constantly put me off and make me just walk away.
1:- The time it takes to actually get a match
2:- When I finally do get a match, it seems to be with people who have seemingly just bought the game and are clueless.
3:- I am with randoms against pre-made groups.
4:- Switching characters—-Why? To play against more effective characters they say. So where does it stop? You switch—I switch ad infinitem? Ridiculous? You bet! All it is, is playing the system, not playing the game.
So where is the ‘random’ in random arenas? Answer:- its not when your playing against a loaded deck!
I fail to see how a statement on downed mechanics applies to a pie recipe.
What I do see is a missed opportunity to just remove the idiotic downed mechanic altogether. Shame.
Nancy McIntyre on the NGE. “Too Hard, too much reading” Deja Vu.
Well let me point out the relevant sentence and explain it then
honestly, we were kind of shocked how many systems, downed included, a surprising number of players just didn’t understand
They greatly simplified the low level maps, removing a lot of feature including items sold by the karma merchants, because there was too much information and new people were having problems understanding and were being overwhelmed and leaving.
I appreciate and understand what you are saying, (and im not having a go at you, as i respect your opinion) but I do not believe for a milli second what the dev was saying! Sounds too much like spin to me. They messed up big time in my opinion with the all hallowed ‘metrics’. He says there had ‘thousands’ of testers and feedback from people who left. So they are saying they sent out emails asking why they quite? ( don’t believe that for a second), or just as it seems from there just looked at reddit and the forums (as it it seems to be implying in that response), because as we all know, everyone says the absolute truth on there!
Sounds more like some people needed to make an excuse as to why it didn’t take off big time as they thought it would in China and needed to come up with some corporate jargon to cover themselves from getting the order of the royal boot down the road!
Sure there was a problem with toxic champ farming in beginner areas, (and needed to be stopped) but that was anets fault by squeezing them from other areas, so they naturally gravitated to those areas. Any fool could have predicted it. If you have desirable stuff such as legendary items, which require a ton of mats your going to have farming, and shutting down other areas of farming made them gravitate to there.
Honestly, we were kind of shocked how many systems, downed included, a surprising number of players just didn’t understand
Seriously? Of all the stuff that they were ‘shocked’ by, the downed system was making people quite? Find that incredibly hard to believe. If they were going to rage quite over having a second chance of life they were going to quite for any number of reasons. And if they were so ‘shocked’ by some of the systems, why didn’t they go out of their way to at least try to explain how blast finishers, and fields work! (Having said that it was a good move to have the mini areas in the starter zones to explain evade).
Anyway, rant over, back on topic, it would be nice to see some of that stuff back in the starter areas
Ahem, sorry to step in at this juncture, buuuuttt had a key and a chest drop in the past 24 hours (possibly rng).
Felt like releasing my inner child when it happened lol.
Intermission over, please continue
People with volume dials that go to eleven may experience sudden, explosive, spontaneous combustion.
Does this mean there will actually be something worth while in BLC now other than god of RNG ? Nope? Thought not.
Same, and only been happening roughly for the past month or so. Been playing since launch so pretty much know when something odd is happening!
Always thought that balancing was about risk vs reward, and not being able to attack with impunity. Clearly anet definition of ‘balancing’ is not the same as mine.
They made the same ‘mistake’ (if you want to call it that) with thief when the game first came out and it was so op that there was pages an pages of complaints about it (only took roughly two years to sort that out), with a vociferous minority supporting it (didn’t want their win button removed).
Half the problem is with stealth, anet refuses to acknowledge that excessive amounts of stealth is a problem, and instead is (in my opinion) using it as a somewhat selling point (what has this game got that others don’t have). The old spin of ‘well use AOE to counter stealth is an old one, and didn’t hold water when the game came out, and still doesn’t.
The problem I have seen is, with some of the balancing, its either, lets make xxxx class OP to shut up the players, or down the line lets nerf xxxx class to the point of uselessness to shut up the complainers, instead of actually balancing!
(edited by Shadey Dancer.2907)
Initially I was dead set against dueling, however I can not see a reason not to have dueling, with the proviso it was done in the same manner as Belcher Buff, where a table or some such is set up and people would have to interact with it to duel.
What I would not want to see is the situation as in other mmo’s where by you are pestered to duel to the point of distraction (are we there yet—are we there yet—DUEL MEEEEE).
As for the OP mentioning mounts, I have yet to see anyone say anything against mounts, so where those posts where I have no idea O-O (maybe I missed something—who knows ! ).
Foe some reason my post was moved from this topic https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Entitlement-in-Guild-Wars-2 to here, with no explanation as to why. Which makes my second point of my post make me look like an insane person!

Played all of GW1 expansions, so GW1 made me want to play GW2.
Here is an interview, with Angry Joe and Colin Johanson that made me cringe at 7.55—8.10 (enough said>>).
What made you cringe about that? It was Joe asking a very valid question. Joe isn’t the only one that felt Zhatain fight was anti climatic, it was actually a common negative critique about this game.
I agree. Now wind your neck in, it was not a poke at Angry Joe!
I didn’t take it as a poke against Angry Joe. I felt it was strange that you cringed at a valid question.
Ok I,m cringing at this entire post (not the op’s topic). So either your trolling me, or you need it explained, as you clearly do not understand subtlety. It was the answer not the question that had me cringing.
There, thats 15 mins of my life I’ll never see again pffft. I wont be answering again, because frankly, its not worth it!

I just checked and chewed though a stack of candy corn just for you guys (ye, im a hero lol).
Anyway, some interesting things came back. Looks like the old wxp boost (+50% wxp) have been merged with the new boost ( +50% xp all game types (that includes wxp) +50% xp (up to) 100% kill streak xp. Plus i must add that the new xp boost is popping out at the same rate (at least for me) as the old wxp (that is in divisions of stackable 15 min slots, which works out at roughly 2-3 hours of the new xp (read old wxp) per stack of candy corn)
As you can see on here, wxp booster are no longer available (allegedly)
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Booster
but
On here, the boosters page on wiki apears to show the old boosters
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Candy_Corn_Gobbler
and on here, no mention that these little beasties no longer function—period—even if you have them:- http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/WXP_Booster
Anyway, after all that hope that helps some.

Believe it when I see it. If this is sweet talk to getting me into buying HOT, youl have try harder with actions not words. Seen devs come and go with plenty of promises with little to show for it.
For the ones insisting that dc’ers for what ever reason need to be punished, then to make everything equitable, players who on wining (almost said whining lol—oh well whatever) duels and taunt should be punished accordingly.
— Laughing at corpses, temp ban as your infringing on their civil rights.
—Jumping on corpses, temp ban as you have no taste.
—Dropping siege blueprints on corpses, temp ban for wanton littering (keep it tidy). —Whispering insulting remarks longer temp ban as your a nubcake and should know better.
One thing anet can take away from this, don’t do open world pvp, unless you want forum meltdowns!
From October 1st – November 2nd is Breast Cancer Awareness Month in GW 1.
Any chance for this to come to GW2?
(as for the pink dye’s, they could be sold by existing NPC’s, ie, laurel vendors, if importing an NPC is too much trouble)
So this is happening more and more often these days almost 1 in 4 fights results in the enemy logging out at low hp or in downed state. I’m sorry but this is unsportsman like and quite frankly pathetic behaviour.
I won’t name and shame the servers coz you already know who you are or have seen your buddies do it.
Please put in a mechanism that stops the enemies character from disappearing if it’s mid fight in WvW/PvP so we get the reward for beating him/her regardless of wether not he logs out.
Seriously people just stop being mad and admit you got beaten, you’re not 12 years old and most of you are “adults” start acting like it.
Ok tantrum over? good, now lets sit down like adults and talk sensibly without the verbal garbage.
Im sure they could throw the same accusation back at this post. Its a game. Its one or two kills out of possibly thousands. If you want to take anything positive out of this go away proud in the knowledge you scared them away. Now give yourself a gold star and carry on the good work!
Why? To frustrate the players asking for mounts muhahaha.
(just joking—-or am I?)
Anet don’t care about balancing in eotm. It’s only now, that when HOT is on the verge of release (coincidence ? ) we are seeing some attempt at balancing in wvw (only took three years), and according to a recent post by a dev, eotm is not an issue.
Hide it from strangers; it’s worthless anyways.
IMO, we could use more privacy features. You should be able to toggle so that people should not be able to see your location or AP, or whatever unless you add them too.
Then parties would have ‘zerk only gear/gear check and AP check’.
Way I look at it is like this, if some turkey is asking for a full zerk ascended thermo nuclear devastation mode for an ac run, Ill stay away from them, life is too short to have needless ear ache.
Btw, done runs with people with 600 ap, and had loads of fun, so don’t take it to heart.
One’s knowledge can’t go beyond one’s experience.
Say what? Every time I see that I feel my IQ slipping into single digits. Using that measure no-one should be able to go beyond inventing the wheel, as it has to be constantly re-invented.
(ye, i know its a game, but come on O-O )
Just wanted to add, people play on ‘invisible’ mode for peace and quite, work unsociable shifts, play on different time zones, basically life happens.
If a name is taken try and be flexible and use variations, alt codes etc, we cant all have what we specifically want in life, but it can be close.
How to Train Your GW2 Elder Dragon
Scene one Act one: Wow I would realy like to train my very own Elder dragon, but everyone tells me its impossible. But being a daring do hero type, I will do it anyway.
Our intrepid hero/ heroin sets off on a perilous quest across Mordor Tamriel Tyria and after much walking (there were no mounts you see), he finally came to Mount Doom Arah, and set foot into the forbidding dungeon.
Scene Two Act one: Our intrepid hero/heroin final comes across his/her final goal after much walking (still no mounts—-his / her stamina must be prodigious!)
Oh Hail mighty dragon i have come here to tame you. Forsooth witness the mighty power of my Glowing thingy legendery.
Final Act: Epilogue: Elder Dragon last seen flying away using a toothpick with a sneaky smile, whist a familiar, but empty and smoking boots are left.
THE END!
TL’DR—-dont do it!

No, EotM won’t be counted towards WvW. I don’t think it’s the same experience, and you can always enter it since it can have as many instances as needed, so there’s really not that same population problem as in “core” WvW.
Sorry, this made me laugh, and not in a good way.
Here is a snap shot of what it like facing off green on eotm. Do some caps with your zerg of 15 -30 (dependent whether your blue or red), then see roughly 100 green come screaming towards you. Next you get the odd comment on map chat, along the lines of, ‘really hope we are green next week!’.
By the way that not an exaggeration, that’s exactly what happens!(before anyone says ‘ohhh but eotm doesn’t count, its not wvw,—- the dev brought it up, not me, so it does by that very fact, even though vested interests in some wvw corners would like to keep the balancing just as it is)
Actually that made me smile even more and actually shows me that they do realize EoTM is not the same as WvW.
I was not stating that wvw is the exact same thing as wvw, which it is not. But that does take away the fact that there has always been a balancing issue in eotm. It was never envisioned as a karma/ wxp train for the privileged few, who happen to be green on a particular week!

Chalk and cheese in my opinion. GW1 trait system with the secondary class, opened up a huge area of skill options, some great, some useless, but they were there, and it was up to you how you set it up, for better or worse, and a fantastic game for its age.
GW2 more spoon feeds its players, terrified if it makes a mistake they will run for the hills, at least, that what it feels like sometimes, still fun though, in its own way.
Little anecdote, on wvw badge equipment:-
We used to be able to throw wvw badge equipment into the mystic toilet , forge. That then allegedly became broken, in which we could no longer do so. A dev posted on the forums they would look into it for a fix.
That was over two years ago, and seriously doubt there will ever be a fix now, as to do so would create a glut of precursors on the open market. Oh the horror!
So be prepared to be very, very patient!
PS, if anet is worried that making wvw badge exotic/ rare equipment salvageable would crash the market, a simple (is anything simple in a game this complex?) work around would be to make the runes/ sigils salvageable at the same rate of existing exotics/ rares, but not the materials the wvw badge equipment are made from:- in essence making the armour/weapon invisible to the salvage kit but the runes / sigils visable.

If you want an answer from a dev , put the title as a question, so a dev can see its a question for them ^^.
At a guess, almost certainly, as the Mysterious Grubby Package still drop from Jumping puzzle chests.
Will it become available before the next Wintersday, who knows (except anet), but highly unlikely as, we have the HOT expansion coming up, and on top of that probably months of de-bugging so wont be the highest priority.

Beards—and scars—-and hair. I mean, if we want to create a character that looks like it seen life and been in battles why not?
Pretty sure if Black Beard the pirate looked like a Ken doll, he would have been laughed out of the pirate guild! YARRRRRRR!
We really need a downed state warning saying FIGHT TO SURVIVE, in big red letters? I am half tempted to ask how we go get by in life if we need that to tell us, that we are in big trouble at that point, besides the dead give away of you being crumpled on the floor shouting—HELP ME. Funnily enough, Iv been playing solidly for three years, and its only now Im noticing it as a pain in the rear view mirror.
But the hugely ironic thing about that warning:- all the time its there supposedly helping you to remember that, your downed, your losing health, and taking damage from whatever source put you there in the first place (if its not dead/ removed) so its actually a hindrance for your fight to survive!
Better removing it entirely in my opinion, its not helping beginners, nor anyone else (plus with the NPE, they have already been told the downed state has been unlocked—-how many warnings do they need? )
*(better still dont be downed—ever!)

Primordius. But here is the spoiler, he will have died of old age once we get there, plus we will be too old to remember who Primordius was. Wonder if a mouse works off a zimmer frame?

Went back and had a look at the OP’s posting history, and he comes across as a nice guy who is obviously intelligent to put together an argument, with the first part of this post having merit, whilst the rest, well enough about that, others have already commented eloquently enough.
However four months ago he posted this- https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Blocked-but-Still-Causing-Offence
I am afraid that post didnt have any legs then, and he felt he needed to re-post an enhanced version.
Now the OP in previous posts says he is a long term player, and mature in years (like myself), so presumably knows, the complaints procedure inside out, cover to cover. If the devs havnt seen it appropriate to action the so called perpetrators, then something is going amiss, either A:- with the the devs response/complaints procedure, or B:- with the claims made by the OP!
