honestly, that game should low way more the ascended “cost” / time to get because that game should promote “stat switching” because various build possible.

But instead, thoses guys turn the ascended even more cancer, so way more expensive / time consuming like a random [censored] mmo where class are totaly “fixed”

thoses guys make just no sense, look like they dont even understand their own game.

And i dont even speak about them forcing player to run their cancer gear check fractal so the necessity to FARM the AR.
And ofc, if you are a WvW players, you can just go [censored] and you are still forced to run that aid pve ?
Noice.

Before GW2 was more or less giving you choice, now, not anymore.
that’s just so bad.

Oh and i dont even speak about the cost… If you “only” WvW, sorry, but you are poor. I sit over a little 100gold, and with thoses change, its just impossible for me to do anything, because the cost of ONE ascended armor is insane.

How i’am supposed to gear up several character ? I “p2w” and buy gem to get gold… ?

I got an idea. I just wish “someone” else thought of it sooner.

1)Seperate PVP skills(GW1) from the PVE versions(GW1), that way you don’t have to nerf something in pvp and it screws up something that’s fine in pve. Same with WVW.

2)Same with the effects.

a)In PVP, we can shoot each other with BBs, silly string, and microscopic confetti.

b)In PVE, we can shoot Satan’s flaming balls at LEGENDARY Dragons. Because sparklers and bottle rockets just won’t get the job done. Just don’t have it scale as much?

3)Raids?? Give squad leader ability to toggle visual effects down or something, idk.

4)????

5)Profit

Pay me my $200k.

1- you idea will requier xx hour of work, so money usage
2- their """"idea""""" requiered 5min of work, so no money spend = economy
3- players upset ? who care there is enough fanboy to defend GW2 & Anet whatever they do

The visual nerfs were fine for a bit but now they’re starting to get fairly ridiculous

Making effects smaller does not make them easier to read in either PvE or PvP.
Example: the auras now look like soap bubbles shaped like eggs, when you can see them at all. And that’s a major problem: I find it very difficult to see auras at all. Reducing visual clutter is fine and all and some stuff wasn’t terrible imo, but when it becomes more difficult to see what’s going on rather than less difficult then you’re doing the job entirely wrong.

I think the goals are noble to reduce visual clutter, but the methods need some tweaking. Or, as some people have asked for, add a slider or check boxes for visual effects! That would make everyone happy.

Well Anet do MANY thing really wrong. I mean, even if its not necessary a bad idea its so wrongly thought ( which its quite ironic since they seem to spend their time “trying stuff” instead of properly update the game since 3years )

So yeah another time they fail, not only with the fact that they dont even give an option to keep the “original effects” (they were certainly too lazy to build a system do let the player dynamically change particles size, so they just cutted down the originals)
But indeed, they dont understand that “easy readable action” =/= small effect.
Its imo only a matter of particle / spirte design ( without a over use of small additionnal shiny particles & refraction thing )

For GW1 sure that wasnt immersive at all thoses small and cheap particle, but that wasnt so annoying either because all the action was readable because of all state icon.
But since that part in gw2 is very badly made, you can more or less only rely on particle effect.

So… yeah… As usual Anet do stuff without basic logic or without really take care that much.
( but well its like i think since quite a while, they are not passionated by GW2, its just “their job to get the cash shop & overpriced expansion money” so its more a “whatever as long as its not too bad” instead of “lets do the best game ever” )

4 new regions vs 6 base, 124 new quests vs 205 base, going off just monk skills 10 new skills vs 40 base, http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Armor_art, 18 new dungeons vs 0 base, 10 heroes vs 0 base. Totally similar to the 15% of the stuff it actually adds in this but it’s more like 50%+ for all of them.

Let’s see. EotN released for $40 and Prophecies released for $50. So that makes EotN 80% (40/50) of the cost of Prophecies. Since you like to to comparisons using only quantities, that means EotN must contains at least 80% of the content of Prophecies.

A bit cynical, but yeah in essence that’s how the expansion model works. The box price covers the cost of development.

Only if Anet wasnt already having kitten tons of money with the cash shop.
And its not like in 3 years they used a lot of development resources for the very few thing they made for the game..
Just saying.

And i also VERY doubt that the expansion content worth a full AAA game content, since they sell their expansion at the “same” price, with the excuse of “thinking to the news player”

Open world bosses with a trilion hit points than can 1-shot everyone no matter their gear/build, with their main attack which they do once every 20 seconds that has a huge tell only if you are half alseep you can miss.

Judging by experience (fractals/sw/teq/tt) “challenging group content” means “triple hit points than normal content”. Of course I can be wrong, at least I hope I am.

A perfect summary of GW2. And certainly what GW2 will only be.

Servers avoiding fights to karma train (I’m looking at you Frenchies).

Oh yeah ? you look at frenchies ? i dont know what french server you fight against, but on augury rock, I only see ppl avoid fight when the opponent is like 2-3time more ( and we still always even try )
Amusing thing, because most of the server we fought ( i’am on that server since GW2 release ) was playing the “big guy” full of courage when they was waaaay more than us, but was very very often ( except somes rare guild ) runing away like coward ( or hidding behind siege weapons ) when we was the same number.. xD

Very funny comment, when i saw that for 90% of the server i saw. ( no matter the nationality )

Well this is the generation of people that feel entitled to having things for free or paying less too get more. Making a good game costs money as people that want this game too continue we should be happy to do what we can to keep it going.

I first apologize for my english.

But, you are a generation of people totaly blind and naive.
You pay a new AAA game ( meaning a REAL game, with 3-4years ( or more ) developpement ) just 10more $
( without saying that you can easyly find new game for around 40$ depending of the site where you buy the key. )

Actualy, the HOT expansion dont even provide 1/4 of what a GW1 expansion / stand alone was offering , and they were sold, like 20$ cheaper…
( even if they was sold as stand alone, they were still acting as expansion tho )
HOT is
- 3 pve maps
- Guild hall housing ( because thoses greedy cant even provide that “for free”, btw “for free” mean : paid with the cash shop, of nothing is done for free and dont worry the CS is a very good money income )
- 1 new class
- 1 specialisation per class ( compare to what they were able to with GW1, its just… nothing )
- 1 pvp mode with 1 map ( dat hard work ! )
- 1 mcm map… /yawn.

And now, you try to tell me that for that very (very) little content after THREE YEARS, its normal to pay a AAA game price, for ONLY that ?
I even bought GW2 itself for less than the “expansion” price like a week or two after his release…
Oh and btw, Anet scam... I mean… get enough money with the cash shop, dont worry for that.
So its not really like they need to scam.. i mean.. sell that “expansion” that expensive.

I Don't Want to Farm Anymore

I’ve been playing since the prerelease so maybe things have changed that make it more difficult for new players, but I have never farmed. I never did the Cursed Shore trains back in the early days. I never farmed CoF or any other dungeons. I don’t even have the dungeon master title. I very rarely jump on a champ train, usually only if I happen to be in Frostgorge or CS doing the daily. I just do whatever I feel like doing. But I have about 11K AP and ten toons all in exotic armor and weapons. Most have ascended trinkets and I have at least one ascended weapon. I didn’t think more of those were worth crafting. Likewise for ascended armor. You do not have to farm to have exotics. Just play the content and you can easily get them. Do the dailies. Early in the game I didn’t even do the those. Kill some world bosses. Do some events. Do an occasional dungeon. You can get everything you need in this game by just playing casually. Or at least you could. I suspect it is still true since I leveled a toon to 80 after the trait change using only weapons and armor that I found or occasionally got from karma vendors. Grinding is definitely not required excep for vanity items like legendaries.

It doesnt change what i said, doing XX time the same dungeon to have the set you want, waiting X weeks to have the necessary gold / mat to buy / craft your gear in this game its FARMING.

Because not everyone like to waste his game time doing their poor pve ( whatever you do during how many time a day ) JUST to be able to play different builds

I dont know how you play your character(s) but to play correctly differents builds on 1 class i need 4-5 differents stat set + copy of the same stats because differents rune / sigils.
Its not more difficult, it requier to do over and over and over again the same things just to play your class.

Its farming

And except if you were used to hardcore grindfest asian mmo, this game have is clearly a farmfest when the manifesto said it would not. ( a bit like GW1 where for the equivalence of 2-3gold you could get a full set of end game stat, BUT with a basic skin.. the farm was ONLY for skins, so you were NOT restraint for you gameplay )

U don’t need farm at all. The exotic gear is easy to get. .

i’am sorry, but

  • Having to do more that 50time a boring dungeon to get a complet exotic armor + 2-3weapons for me its farming.
  • Having to collect 900+ mcm insignia just for a complet exotic armor, for me its farming
  • I dont speak about Ascended gear which is CLEARLY farming.
  • And i dont even speak about the necessity to have serveral stats to be able to correctly play 2-3 differents builds per char : which mean repeat X time the previews farm to play decently ONE class.
  • And i forget to add the necessity of having X version of the same armor / weapon because of runes / sigils.

Yeah sure, no need to farm in GW2.. sure ! Are we really playing the same game ?

About your post… You didnt even fulfill the initial promise about GW2 how could we even believe a second you “work on the things that we think will most delight and entertain you” or “All of us at ArenaNet play the game with you, chat with you and read your forum
Seriously ? what about gvg, news skills, REAL mcm FIX, work on pve AI mobs, the fact that at least 95% of the player DONT LIKE the new lvling.. etc
Instead what you do ? 300gold color tag ? improve the damage log ( way more important than ALLLLL the fix / balanced needed in that game ) a living story 2 that no one care about because everyone want REAL content..
I dont even speak about the… very… limited (to stay polite) “skill” update… which should be on top of the priority because its the CORE of the gameplay..

I most of the time very doubt we play the same GW2 because all i see, is that you work on stuff that will no doubt NOT entertain us.

I cant wait… oh yeah ! i cant wait to see the announcement of that next-gen power creep gear grind farm 2.0 to throw away GW2 in my computer trashcan.

Of course, i dont except anything else from Anet now. Its not like they are going to do something nice like… gear stat switching like we want to be in harmony with the restat like we want..

I guess more than 1years and hafl to only get this “feature patch” that have finaly more con than pro excess a bit the “be patient”

Meanwhile with GW1 nearly 2 years after prophecie there was the expansion faction + nightfall…
2 complet new world, 4 news class, over 600more skills, many news skins ( armor – weapons ) toooons of quests…
and i cant list all other functions not showed off like THE revolution in the mmo history ( a.k.a restat like you want.. )

Game Updates: Traits

It speaks of a disconnect between the developers and the gamers as if they did not play the game themselves and had no clue about what a player is doing.

I cant agree more…
They look to update the game so randomly without even paying attention of what the players really need, or what the game really need.
( Just look at the "run pve dungeon to unlock spvp skin.. wth is that idea… )

All they care about is their cash shop and making players buy gems…. Its really amazing how they kill GW2 ( and really fast…. ) and turn this game into a money grab sotfware
Anet is becoming worse than NEXON ( and that’s really not a compliment )


About the trait system, one thing is clear .. i will NEVER EVER start another alt with the current system.. i might have wanted to make a guardian, but i already have 6 class… and just for the new traits i would need to waste 90gold + 600 skills points.. ( and NO i’am not interested into doing thoses pointless spam 1 pve event to unlock them )

So if i need to farm 65gold + 360 skills point + farm all the gold i need for weapons + armor + jewels + all switch + all runes + all sigils… one new character is going to be that expensive that you will need to farm the tarding outpost, or farm gold like a korean bot.

And just.. NO THANKS.
That’s NOT the GW game i paid for. And that’s not the “no grind no farm” game i wanted to play.

Create stealth counter mechanic

( sorry my english is far to be perfect ^^ )
First, to clarify, its not any kind of QQ, because i play a thief too, and i enjoy the stealth mechanic. And i want to be as impartial as i can.

But actualy, i see dozen of dozen thief condi spam stealth.
Which mean -> stealth -> spam condi -> stealth to avoid any kind of possible targeting so damage -> spam condi -> repeat until your target die.

basicly ALL thief i saw playing that pretty OP build was only killed if there was at least 4-5 player chassing him ( and even like that most of them always avoided to be killed )

Its totaly OP because stealth !
You one have left somes AoE (very easy to avoid when stealthed ) or somes melee weapon attack (but no need to say that you will, as thief, NEVER stay close to your target to be hit… )

Add to that, the health regen + condi clean = impossible to kill especialy as OP condi spam bunker.

Only possible solution is to have stealth counter to be able to break the stealth cycle and so be able to correctly play against the thief rather than just endure that until you die.

13k Backstabs are toxic, PERIOD.

The problem IS NOT the backstab, the problem is the absence of stealth counter.

A skill that does that much damage with a near instant cast time, that you can’t see coming, that you can’t counter play is a problem. Stealth just intensifies the situation.

Nop, stealth IS the reason WHY backstab is that powerfull.
If there was a stealth counter, it would also mean decent backstab counter.

And you clearly said it “that you can’t see coming” yeah because there NO SINGLE stealth counter.
If there was stealth counter it would be clearly more risky for a thief to do his backstab

Without that, there is no way backstab could have a good balance.
Also as thief to do a that high backstab damage value you have to be a 100% zerk even in your trait. No need to say that, like that, even a rabbit could OS you. But because of stealth, thoses thief are pretty insanely hard to kill except if they do huge gameplay mistake.

+ play as a balanced thief, or more oriented to “perma stealth” your backstab wont really go over 4-5k, which is clearly not that OP when you consider all other class DPS potential.

IMHO, backstab is actualy fine, the only problem is the lack of stealth counter.

There is absolutely NO COUNTERPLAY. You cant dodge, you cant block, you cant blind, you cant see it, and even if you know it is coming, there is absolutely nothing you can do by surviving one because 4 seconds later the second one is coming, for sure

As you are saying in your post.

The problem IS NOT the backstab, the problem is the absence of stealth counter.

I saw numerous thief gameplay video, i play one too sometime, i played against quite many too ( i’am a wvw player, but the issue is still the same ), and seriously the only choice given to the thief oppent is : playing “defence”.
From the start its unbalanced because stealth cut down many of your class ability
VS a stealth thief you cannot play aggresively like against whatever other class except if you are a mind reader to guess his movements

So yeah in a game like GW2 where everything have more or less a counter, introducing a gameplay mecanic WITHOUT ANY break the game.

I’am amazed that Anet never thought about that instead of nerfing the initiative regen to prevent a bit more the perma stealth which btw didnt change anything except locking down thief build diversity when you want use stealth efficiently. (so like their awfull initiative regen that break down the gameplay flow )

Mean as long as Anet dont want invest time to really take care of the gameplay mecanic, so do SMART class update (instead of the current “nerf” that only reveal how they dont even understand their own game ) we are still going to have a incredible amount of problem. ( not only speaking about thief )

As of right now GWII is still the best MMO currently on the market

Mostly because its Buy to Play ( i would tend to say hardly cash shop oriented ), and also because we dont have access to somes asian mmo right away.

like Blade and Soul hold as hostage by NCsoft since more than 2years , and btw it might look like only big boobies girl, but the fight in that game are waaaaaay more interesting than the GW2 ones.
Arche Age : you can only play it on russian server with a english patch
Black Desert : who know how in how many years we are going to have it…

Intead western market only Pay 2 play + random wow clone like Wild Star… + somes old asian grindfest trash mmo. Yeah choice is quite poor so GW2 remain the “only” viable mmo despite ALL the issue… (imho caused by quite terrible game management)
( And, make FFXIV online + TESO + wildstar as B2P like GW2 not sure it will remain the “best mmo currently” )

that ferocity is a utter joke… i had “post patch” a more or less balanced staff ele it wasnt a pure dps, but i was doing between 2k5 and 3k5 with meteor shower… now… exact same build… i barely go over 2k with it..

I rage quited the game when i saw that because i’am sick of having to spend tons of gold to restuff all my characters.

- Also, stat window, no more attack stat !? since the begining i’am using that to have an global idea of my damage and now its gone because of their ferocity thing !?

what the hell.

- All + boon duration “nerfed” like hell. All boons builds gones, mean i can throw away somes builds ..

- Ferocity, more likely a 30-40% damage nerf ! yay ! my staff ele is now totaly useless if i dont spend another fortune for a 100% restuff…

I would love to get people thoughts on what stat combinations they would like to see added to the game?

First, i would love to know when you guys are going to think to a system to swap stats like a legendary weapon can do, for gear ( armor – weapons – jewels ) starting from exotic ones.

Because, stats combinations.. ok.. but having to farm 10 different equipement for each class… do you seriously think its fun ?
Especialy when you are going to allow an easy restat :/

the stuff and gear stat still prevent to enjoy play tons of builds unless you farm month to have all stat on your character.

Also, instead of introducing MORE and MORE stat to keep player farm, why dont you introduce a system to choose a primary stat and the 2 secondary one ? (ofc a special for somes gear using 4 stats )
And ofc ! lets players change stat like they can restat and retrait…

People like the OP wants to much… If you aren’t happy with this, you will never be happy… What did you expect? 100 new armour sets, 10 new dungeons and 54 new zones?

Features :

And when it come to work on something handy for the stat swap, to match the “new” restat system and REALLY allow to manage and change build.. they just spend 10sec to change one parameter to a stuff….

Seriously what’s wrong with the community ? The wardrobe has been asked for… Since the beginning of the game ? And people still say that Anet doesn’t listen to players… The same can be said about the account bound dyes.

Such stuff was asked, but the “problem” is that they used that idea and based their money grabbing on top of that.
Even if you still can convert your gold into gems, its quite expensive to swap skins since actualy its around 20gold to get 5 transmutation crystal. ( and who know how the price are going to increase in time to convert gold into gem to turn that totaly overpriced )

Everything in the news system is made to clearly encourage each player to buy gems. best exemple is that they delete dye from the mobs loot table ( insane greedy move )

now changing traits is made more flexible, i expect we can see such flexibility in our gear as well. in the future, of course. i have seen this coming since 2006. the people have been asking for something like this since then.

Unlocking traits through content is a great idea though.

I’d even remove the option to buy them from vendors.

While we think going out into the world to unlock traits is a cool reward for completing specific content, we wanted to have an alternative option in case that wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. There are many different kinds of players. =)

So since there is many kind of player, i hope you are not selling them at high price….
Dont forget that the majority arent HV farmer or hardcore gold farmer…

  • The more GM traits, but no more Adept/Master traits. More traits is good, but you can typically only slot 2-3 GM traits at a time, and even doing that means limiting your other trait choices. Having 5 new GM traits means always having 5 GM traits you can’t slot at any given time. I would much prefer having more Adept and Master traits available, allowing you to slot more of these new traits at once, and without having to focus on maxing out individual lines.

Needs:

  • If they are adding in the ability to swap traits around on the fly like this, then they also definitely need the ability to “store” trait builds, so that you can swap between several builds at a button press, rather than having to move the points around and swap out the abilities individually. If they allow you to swap traits then you’ll be expected to swap traits, and doing so manually each time is just tedious.

Agree . especialy when there is a lot of build that dont even go futher that 20point in a stat…

There is also a lot of traits that should be removed to apply thoses effect by default to the skills – weapons ( like the -20% CD – turn the skill as targetable – increase range .. and stuff like that )
Remove thoses traits would allow everyone to use more “usefull” traits that add somes effect – bonus

That’s a pretty shy start to take care of the core gameplay, but as long as its just the begning to go more back to the greatest GW1 roots…

Also, the ability to store “builds” & stuff.. was there in GW1.. its VERY surprising they dont even though to include that from the begning…
( exactly like the “easy restat” in GW2 where we had to wait nearly 2years to have it, when a such system was in GW1 since prophecie…. and now they present that like a revolution… that’s so… funny… )

Need now a easy way to swap stat from our gear without having to waste 342634hours to collect many different armor – weapons – runes – sigils now…..
And maybe like that its going to look like something interesting…
( well there is still a lot of issues in this game, like the OP food allowed in mcm – the difference between ascended and exotic.. all that creating a total unbalanced wvw pvp.. etc )

Finally a trait that brings back a bit of the GW1 Mesmer we know and love (or hate).

Well, yes and no, because the gw2 interrupt is freaking random without seeing the foe skill bar.
Also, since we still CANT change the weapons skills even if its with the pistol – offhand sword – GS – focus, its only one interrupt per switch and i dont count the “diversion” because it rely on clone movement, so its even more only luck.
yeah, there is the mantra.. but… but cast time of a mantra is just a crap.

It might look like a bit more, but its still a poor GW1 mesmer version since you cant a single second really rely on the interrupt success..

wasting a grand master skill for that over poor PB version.. lol !

I just dont understand why they dont just set a higher ferocity amount compare to the other stat to match the current %crit damage…

Sure it would be something like ( taking as exemple a ascended ring )

After all who care if its like that to not destroy the celestial gear ?

Actualy that huge “nerf” is pretty insane.. And that’s not the poor 6% boost that’s going to help..
Especialy when thoses [cencored] dev had the [cencored] idea to make the celestial stuff just [cencored] long to craft.

Since Anet tried to sell the item that allow you to restat anywhere you want.
I dont see any problem with that “new” system.
Even if, personaly i think we should only be allowed to restat ONLY in zone considered as “safe zone” like all city, all start WvW place, outpost in pve.. etc.

Adding news traits… well, i’am ok.
But… there is already plenty of totaly useless traits that should be reworked

IMHO traits like 20% faster reload, increase a bit the AoE size, increase weapon range a bit.. etc
Are totaly pointless and should already be the default setting of the various skills.
Like that we could concentrate trait usage for adding various effect ( like getting a buff, of adding a condition effect.. or whatever else )
It would already add diversity

Also, ONLY grand master… -_-" ? how many build only have something like 20/20/0/10/20… ( that’s just a totaly random exemple ) and never use Grand master traits….

Collecting the news traits via quest – activity like in GW1 = NO
In GW1 we where collecting “SKILLS” not TRAITS !

When i recognize you can, eventualy go into the right direction

  • do not make the traits acquisition via activity or so.
  • Add news weapons kills / utilities skills / elites skills, and in this case YES make them as reward for various activity like in GW1, in this case i would be OK !
  • you add a way to VERY easyly restat – retrait… DO NOT FORGET THE GEAR.
    You are forcing us the hunt down gear stat for a build, its long and boring to get gear stat..

- tool kit → just increase the size of the adjustable spanner to make it crealy visible.
- flamethrower – elixir -> there is already the rifle

Gw2 still has the best combat/art in the industry the only thing that looks better imo is Blade and Soul which is another ncsoft title.

Blade and soul is without any doubt really excelent. ( too bad NCsoft dont look to want publish it.. but well, soon a RU version is coming and certainly with a community english patch.. )
But GW2 is clearly not the best ( i can be only if you have experienced basic WoW-like mmo ) but GW1 is FARAWAY better, mabinogi is also clearly better ( only speaking about the fight system ) Vindictus is quite better too, after all

I would like to be sure of something.

with the wvw account bounded, lets say i’am lvl 200 but

  • I have 200 to use PER character, so if i have 5 character, for all 5 i’am going to be able to use 200 points ?
  • Or i have 200 point in total to use across my 5 characters ? so i can only do like 40 points per characters ?

My main wvw char is level 685; wxp across all other chars equates to 123. These totals will be combined raising my level to 808 across all chars. This is my understanding of how the system will work.

Nope, Immagine it like a pool, all the wxp you made on your chars will be merged togheter, but don’t forget that the first 5 ranks are easier than the rest.

practically you will be between rank 770/790

So, if i have 200points to spend in total, that will not be 200 point per character, but 200points for all character ?

that’s just bad like hell and finaly do not change anything.
It would be smart to have the "200"points per character if you not only have “one” favorite class…

GW2 will still force us to grind grind grind grind grind the wvw lvl to get all the necessary vwv xp to get all the upgrade you want in wvv for each of them…

Especialy when there is only a very little minority that played that much that they are lvl 1k++ in mcm…

Anet only care about the little korean like grinder minority ?

About Ascended gear

Jewels

  • make us use laurel to buy an “empty” ascended jewels, and for a cheap laurel cost ( like 2 max ) sell the ascended stat and use my preview suggestion for the stat insignia saving

Or If Anet dont want change the actual system

  • Make ascended jewel ONLY account bounded like that we could use somes jewels for differents characters.

Armor – Weapons

  • If the insane craft-farm is not changed, in this case, the ascended gear crafted should allow you swap stats like a legendary weapon can do.

Or

  • Make ascended insignia cheaper to craft ( a bit more expensive that the exotic ones ) and use my preview suggestion…

Also… for god sake ! stop asking us to charge ONE crystal per day to craft celestial gear… what the hell is that idea to turn this stuff annoying to craft !?

Hello.
First, i apologize my english is far to be perfect so i might do serveral grammatical mistake and so.. ( feel free to pm me correction )


Actualy, GW2 weapon switch / swap and stat – traits reset allow the player to play his character in many different way in a few click. nearly totaly change the class gameplay. Exactly like in GW1 and its an excelent thing.

But in gw2 the gear stats + runes + sigils play a very important role in the build.
And everyone know how it can be long / expensive to get a full stuff, no counting rune and sigils
( just 5 exotic jewels cost something like 15-20po, sure its not a fortune, but for a average player its already a pretty high cost )

  • Multiply that with the different build – stats balance you want do for one character, and multiply all that with the differents class you are playing.
    You can also add a multiplier for the armor / weapons because somes expensive runes / sigils will requier a special set for them…
    Also, all stats cant be acquier the way you want, you cant have all stat with karma, nor crafting, nor with wvw, nor dungeon.. etc.. its clearly NOT handy

Only speaking about exotic, its already quite a important investment.

  • whatever what you do to get your stuff : dungeon requier at least 15days for farming everydays, WvW requier a lot of time to get all wvw insigna, buying every piece cost quite a lot, farming mat need a lot of times.. etc

I would say for a player like me coming from GW1 where end game stat was accessible at very cheap price ( the long work was only requiered if you wanted a nice skins ), very easyly. Its very discouraging to see that intense farming needed to play your character like you want.
( sure, its faster if you are used to classic mmo where the stuff grinding is insane, but its GW, and not any gear grindfest mmo.. well.. logicaly )


Since for me the way GW1 managed the stuff was excelent, i have a suggestion to have back this system.
( i speak about armor, but this system should be applied for jewels and weapons )

  • Separate armor skin and insignia
  • Make all merchant ( karma – dungeons – WvW ) have ALL existing stats ( insignia ) , ofc make ALL stats craftable. With a correct cost balance between all thoses way to get stuff, any player is going to be able to choose the way he prefer to get his stuff. Of course, all merchant will still sell the particular skins type ( like karma armor skin – dungeons skins.. etc )
  • Make insignia cheap ! ( e.g : let’s say one actual armor cost 3po, the skin will cost 2.5gold and the insignia 50 silver ) or for craft (e.g make ecto necessary for the armor skin, and not for the insignia anymore )
  • We should be able to save any insignia we want on one armor piece, via a menu we are going to be able to change stats like we want. Runes, and Sigils should be saved like that too. Ofc we would still need one insignia per armor piece / weapons / jewels
  • Why not, like GW1 sell for a very cheap price a lvl 80 exotic version of the starting armor – weapons skin to have a first “recipe” to collect insignia – runes – sigils ( ofc soul bounded ). Then like GW1 spend more work to get like actualy the well knowed exotic skins.

My goal with that suggestion ?

  1. Make all stat very easy and cheap to get for any players !
  2. It will spare you from that insame gear farm if you prefer play your character in many different ways and often change that, like GW1 was allowing and do not like farm days and weeks for a stuff
  3. You will still need to “work hard” like actualy for all special armor – weapons skin you can find in GW2 ( dungeons skins – karma – WvW.. craft… etc
  4. Of course, if you buy a new skin and do not transmute it, you will need to start over all the insignia – runes – sigil collection.

I suppose like that everyone could be happy. ( the farmer liker and the farmer hater )

Why don't we ALL play berserker warriors?

why all berserker warrior ( and other class ) because saddly the pve is only mob with huge pve pool and poor fight strat. ( dodge… )

So, to avoid turn many things ( 95% of the game ) boring, its better to kill stuff fast. so -> berserker.

The game have a poor management of crow control skill, many conditions are not efficient enough to disable ( like in GW1 where interrupt / control curse and condi was excelent ) so, only solution left -> pur DPS.

As long as Anet wont rework MANY aspect of their game gameplay it will NEVER change, whatever the % crit damage nerf with the ferocity.
