TLDR: This has been a bug since beta. This bug only affects transmuted armor. You cannot use the default colors of the visible armor set (remove dye) or it reverts to the default colors (remove dye of that item) of the armor that was transmuted (stats) into your visible armor. If you unequip the item while the reverted colors are showing, your game will crash.

This pretty much sums up what’s going on. We’re aware of and tracking both of these issues, but unfortunately, I don’t have an estimate on when they will be fixed yet. Thank you for your patience, everyone!

In order to help keep these issues organized, each month we will be creating a new thread for these so that it does not grow to an unmanageable size. Please do not resubmit bugs if you have already posted about them in a previous art thread as we will have already seen them and added them to our bug database. Thank you!

Please post them in this thread if you come across any sort of bug that fits in the following categories:

- Armor/clothing art issues (textures, placement, clipping…)
- Weapon art issues (textures, placement, effects, clipping…)
- Character model issues (textures, effects…)

General Guidelines:
-Take a screenshot of the issue
-Take a screenshot of your equipment on the Hero Panel (H)
- List your Race, Sex and Class
- Be as descriptive as possible
-Take a screenshot

If the issue relates to clothing/armor/weapons
- List the names of every piece of armor/clothing/weapon equipped (this includes the level requirement) when you encountered the issue
- If you can, list where you acquired the item (which NPC, what map location, which dungeon, etc…)

Note on clipping issues: While we understand the desire to have all clipping issues resolved, the way our items are designed sometimes causes some small issues that cannot be fixed easily. We’re looking for severe clipping (like your shield is impaling you or your daggers are completely hidden by your coat.) Things like hair clipping or minor clipping of weapons into armor are sometimes unavoidable.

Please attach the screenshots to your forum post rather than hosting it elsewhere.
If you have a video of the issue, please upload those to YouTube (unlisted) and link that along with your other bug information here.

You should get credit for a jumping puzzle before you start doing it; in other words, you don’t need to complete the puzzle to get credit towards the monthly achievement. That also means that you’ll want to check your progress on the achievement before you start the jumping puzzle to make sure that you haven’t already received credit for it.

If you’re certain that you have not received credit for a jumping puzzle, please let us know which ones you suspect may not be working right. Thank you!

It sounds like this is a different problem from the one that was occurring previously and is (somehow) related to being on an EU server.

To help our programmers, I’d recommend creating a shortcut to the game and then running it with the -diag argument in the target line and posting the resulting text here as an attachment. You can see an example of how to do this in the attached image. I’ll pass these along for further investigation.

Hm. I tried switching servers and trying those maps, but I’m not seeing the same problem.
When you get stuck on this loading screen, does the client go unresponsive (you need to close it via Task Manager)? There was an issue with loading screens a while back, and I’m wondering if it’s the same thing.

Well now I’m getting all sorts of connection bugs, and can’t even log in. Though when it does work I still can’t load, or the load screen times out and gives me a connection error.

What is the exact error code you’re getting? It may help us determine whether this is a server or client error.

I occasionally get a bug where I can’t target any enemies with the mouse (but using the keyboard for targeting still works). It’s not a bug that happens a lot, and a relog usually fixes it. Also I don’t use the mouse to target very often so there’s probably times that I have the bug and don’t even notice it. It’s possible that this bug is responsible for some people not being able to target the portals/behemoth.

Good point; I could see that being the case. So, for clarification, we are aware of the bug where you can become unable to mouse-click targets, and it is a separate bug.

While it looks like the events chaining to Shadow Behemoth got fixed on some servers, we found some additional points that are stopping it from spawning on others that we’ll be working on.

On that note, we haven’t been able to duplicate the issue with portals/the Shadow Behemoth being untargetable. It is intended that the Shadow Behemoth is only targetable after the portals are destroyed during the event. I don’t know if that’ll help explain some of the weirdness that’s being described, but we aren’t seeing the same problem on our end.

If you continue to see the portals/behemoth as untargetable when he does spawn, please provide additional information, such as your profession, server, etc. so we can investigate further. Thank you!

We definitely want to fix any issues with the Mystic Forge, and we’re sorry to hear that some of you haven’t been getting items from certain recipes. From what I understand, part of what makes fixing these issues difficult is finding the recipes that are broken, as there are a very large number of possible combinations.

To help us identify the problematic recipes, please try to be as specific as possible when reporting recipes that don’t work. Example: saying that you put in four masterwork items and didn’t get anything back isn’t as helpful as saying that you put in four masterwork greatswords and didn’t get anything back, as the latter helps us focus in on a particular item type/recipe.

I think you’re misunderstanding. He’s not getting more people than allowed into his home instance.

A version of the Salma District physically exists on the Divinity’s Reach map, but entry into that area is normally (and intentionally) blocked by physical barriers. However, with some creative jumping it’s possible to enter that section of the map.

The question is whether or not players will get in trouble for accessing sections of the map that are normally blocked off by the map’s design. This question can apply to any map, really.

I suspect the answer is “no”, but with the caveat that we’re expected to report “flaws” in the map like this one so they can eventually be fixed.

If you’ve seen a “red post” from an ArenaNet staff member, you probably know that all of us have a title indicating which team we’re on; so without further ado, I’d like to take some time to introduce the Live Response Team and go into detail on what we do with bugs!

Who is the Live Response Team and what do we do?
The Live Response Team is a tight-knit team of developers from just about every discipline in the company. While we tend to rotate team members based on the skill sets needed and who’s available, our team goals have largely remained the same:

  1. Fix exploits: Of our daily duties, these take the highest priority, and we work to fix these as quickly and efficiently as possible to protect the game. To that end, most of the team typically spends some time browsing forums and external sites, as well as monitoring the company’s public-facing exploits email inbox and bug queue for new exploit reports.
  2. Fix high-priority game bugs: While the Live Response Team isn’t responsible for all of the bug fixes that make it into the game, we do handle a large majority of them. For example, you may remember the huge number of balance changes that went in with the 11/15 update; these were largely done by the Live Response Team.
  3. Track player concerns and implement minor, quality-of-life improvements based on these concerns: As mentioned earlier, when we’re not fixing bugs, we’ll read through the forums and/or play the game and listen to what players are talking about. Based on player discussions and suggestions, we’ll work on new improvements and features to add to the game. If there are concerns that require more in-depth work than what we can handle, we’ll also bring those up with other teams for consideration.
  4. Add minor additional content to allow continued character progression: While there are other teams dedicated to the larger batches of new content, the Live Response Team is responsible for some content additions, such as monthly achievements. While we can’t go into more detail on what’s on the horizon, there are some other changes coming up that will be implemented by the Live Response Team as well.

How does the Live Response Team determine which bugs to fix/exploits to remove/features to implement in each update?
To track the active bugs in the game, we use a bug tracking database and a priority system. For those of you who’ve worked in the video game industry, this process will be familiar: depending on the severity of the issue, each bug in our system is given a priority number depending on how many players or which systems it affects. For example, blocking, severely detracting, and highly visible issues are considered priority 1 or priority 2 issues, while text issues and minor graphic bugs are usually priority 3 or lower.

What is the process for fixing bugs?
Fixing bugs and exploits for Guild Wars 2 often involves developers from different teams and disciplines collaborating together on systems that can affect multiple aspects of the game. From the time a bug or exploit is reported to the time it’s fixed, there are a number of interim steps that we go through to produce quality content and not introduce more problems.

When we receive a bug/exploit report, the first thing we do is investigate it and make sure that A: we can consistently cause it to occur and/or identify what is causing it, and B: write up a bug with the information necessary for the appropriate developer to fix it. The bug is then investigated and fixed by a developer(s) of the appropriate discipline, after which it goes through a rigorous quality assurance process to ensure that extraneous bugs are not introduced with the fixes and that the fixes work. In other words, while we are frequently aware of bugs as soon as they appear and are reported, fixing a bug/exploit involves a number of steps that cannot be bypassed without the possibility of introducing more problems.

Why isn’t “X” bug being fixed/“Y” exploit being removed?
We try to fix as many issues as possible in-between our game update milestones, but we have strict deadlines in place to make sure that all fixes have the time to go through the process I outlined. We are always working to improve our processes, and the Live Response Team frequently works with other teams to improve our workflow and the tools we use to gather data. While these changes are not always externally visible, they’re constantly happening.

What is the Live Response Team doing in the future?
Once we finish eliminating the more severe bugs that are lurking in the wild, there will be more time for us to focus on other parts of the game to make it even better! To help us reach that point sooner, please keep reporting bugs and exploits with as much clear, concise information as possible. Even though we may not post all the time because we’re busy working on the game, we’re always reading and listening to what you’re saying and taking that into account with each update we make.

Is everyone experiencing this using the dodge roll keybind, as opposed to double-tapping a movement key? We’re aware of a bug related to using the keybind, but if you’re not using that to dodge, it could be a separate bug.
