Everything in the gem store is a want, not a need. You don’t need any of it to play the game, so remember that as you think about the ability or inability to purchase stuff. I have an extra 9k coming my way that I’ll have to burn through, but because of how Gaile and her team treated me none is going towards this game, otherwise I’d drop a bunch to get some gems back in the system.

My suggestion would be to try crafting some higher grade items and selling or putting them in the mystic toilet. Granted it’s borked, you may get lucky and get back an exotic or precursor that you can sell. Also faster dungeon paths can net you an easy gold, just do a few of those now and then as well and eventually you’ll have some gold you can turn into gems. The ratio will never be in your favor as it was in the old days, and they’re loving it.

Guild mission. Other than that, because other games haven’t been released yet.

As usual, most of it is not worth it.

As far as the Ca$h Grab $hop goes, I’m hoping they release a few re-skinned minis, backpacks, or if we’re really lucky, sweet armor that clips a lot!

If it stresses you out that much you’re not going to have fun and probably shouldn’t do it. Remember, not only do you not have to, but at the end of the day what do you have to show for it? Virtual (insert anything here) of no value.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they had to outsource to fix a more basic element of their own game. Now if they outsourced everything, there’s a chance you’d have a great game that should have been here two years ago.

Are you surprised it’s primarily a Gem Shop item? Or that these designs seem rather lazily put together? Welcome to the show, friend.

I guess my big question is: who cares? Also why would they note NPC movement in the patch notes? If they did that every time it’d probably double or triple the list.

It’s nice to see them try and break up the constant zerg that happens in nearly every avenue of the game.

Earning higher tiers of reward in the Boss Blitz in the Queen’s Pavilion is a great way to earn Festival Tokens, and Queen’s Gauntlet tickets – the rewards that the other activities within the festival give as well. If you check your inventory, you should see the tokens & tickets you have received.

Please no. I understand they don’t care about breaking immersion (see rainbow pony bow, et al) for the sake of making money, if there are suckers out there who will drop real money for ugly virtual clothes, they’ll make it happen at some point.

It’s no different than seeing emotes of blocked people, it makes no sense and it’s been requested since launch. Instead we get crappy helms and other useless items in the gem shop.

I’ve already played less before this patch even hit, and it certainly doesn’t help.

I’m primarily waiting for some of the other games that should come out this year like Wildstar, TESO, EverQuest Next, ArcheAge, etc. One of those will hopefully be more promising.

As long as people buy virtual items of no value with real money, they’ll keep at it. They’re a business, you know.

This game can be just as much of a time sink. Having played since just after launch and having about more hours invested than I care to admit, I will say I’m bored out of my mind with it. There’s progression and grind, if that’s your thing.

Not really no, and you’ll find that out the longer you play it.

Probably this. It seems like it’d be some work for them to implement, if it even is. If it was, then there’s the chance (not that it ever happens) that they’d mess something up, or it’d have limitations that are just unacceptable to some snowflakes.

If it’s 800 just to change the text/name, it better be half or more than that for race.

I wouldn’t think so. Then again I’m biased because I can’t get into the writing or lore for this game. They could have a broom, mop and dustpan teaming up to kill whatever dragon we hastily kill with an airship or laser and I’d still shrug.

We already have a giant wurm world boss, except the next one is to have more difficulty. Okay.

Giant mech creature hanging by chains, we’ve had that too. With any luck we’ll still be playing Guild Wars 2 and not War of the Worlds.

(spoilers: I spent 16 gold and got 250 each of gold, silver and copper. Total time to mine this from the nodes? 3 months. Total cost to buy nodes? 60 gold. You make the call!)

I just can’t get excited for another giant Wurm, or another giant clockwork (not that it breaks immersion or anything). I really hope they come through with something better in March.

It’s random, but you can usually bet on stuff coming out for holidays or new content releases. Not saying that’s a good time to do a cash grab, but just looking at the history of it.

That aside, I’ll hold off on passing all the judgment until it’s released but another Wurm (or rather, world boss to send everybody into overflows) is groundbreaking. I feel as if we’ve dealt with large mech-like creatures being hung from chains before but I just can’t place my finger on it. Oh well who needs originality? On the bright side, one portion of it is here to stay! Start forming those Wurm Squad guilds now.

Happened a few times tonight. Wonder if we’ll get an honest answer from them as to why.

There is a serious issue with game enforcement and consistency and it’s in dire need of a revamp or perhaps a new employee to take the reins. I’ve done the same thing numerous times (reporting in-game character or guild names that are clear violations) and watch them continue to go about even weeks after the report (some to this day and it has been months).

Gaile told me submitting an in-game report allows them to be “acted upon within minutes.” I’ve never seen that happen with inappropriate names, foul language, homophobic or racist statements, or chat spam. But I’ve been reassured they’re all dealt with and that we’re not being lied to.

Also I highly suggest you do NOT submit a support ticket or you will get a strongly worded e-mail from Gaile and consequently have your legitimate tickets tossed out (allowing the violations in the second paragraph to continue happening with no recourse).

People really need to take a stand and be vocal about not just the police state of the forums, but the game’s operations in general, including but not limited to topic at hand. Not to mention refrain from financially supporting them unless they can get their act together. I eagerly await my infraction for speaking the truth, as it merely solidifies my case.

I’ve only ever gotten them from completing a personal story or a map complete. I’m not saying I see them more in the lower level of the aforementioned areas to try and get you hooked early, either, as that would be wrong. Either way, with the unfavorable RNG I just will not buy them.

I can’t get behind this. They released that BL Package (which is overpriced and offers mostly things you don’t need or can get for free) which actually nets them, in most cases, your hard earned money. An NPC accepting mats doesn’t.

Also as somebody mentioned, you’re inviting even more unfavorable RNG gambling, and that makes baby Quaggan sad.

When I think of Teq I don’t think of him as evolving as I do the devs attempting to improve the game.
