Unfortunatly a couple of months after launch the game really wasn’t bringing in enough money so they had to completely change directions, and with HOTs it’s being shown even more.

Being level 80 is boring

Ridley.3691

I’ve enjoyed other parts of the game, I loved the Personal Story, I loved doing Dynamic Events, I quite liked Renown Hearts, finishing World Exploration on my main, as well as SAB back when it was out. I’ve also enjoyed most of the Jumping Puzzles and have finished all of them, I’ve levelled many crafts past 400, I’ve killed world Bosses dozens of times, and I’ve levelled numerous alts to level 80, as well as collected heaps and heaps of dyes and skins, but many of these areas of the game just aren’t getting looked at when they design new content.

The bulk of new content they add are ‘features’ (Which are generally good, don’t get me wrong, but not content), Living Story and new skins that are either on the Gem Store, or locked behind a brand new grindable currency, or now overly-long scavenger hunts. I’m sure there’s a good number of people who enjoy these things, clearly, but they’re not the areas of the game I personally like, and I’m just hoping they expand on those I do soon.

I’d have to agree, I mean it’s good that they’ve opened more up to do as you’re levelling, way more than most games, but the problem is you don’t really seem to unlock anything new once you hit 80. This causes you to then kind of hit a brick wall, since you’ve probably tried out most of the different gamemodes before hitting 80, like WvW, sPvP, dungeons etc, and if you’re not really into pvp of any kind, and you don’t enjoy the way ANet has handled dungeons (including Fractals), then you’re really not left with an awful lot to do after spending two hours every couple of weeks doing the latest Living Story.

“Eurogamer: How are you handling endgame loot – will we be farming bosses?

Colin Johanson: Everyone, including casual gamers, by level 80 should have the best statistical loot in the game. We want everyone on an equal power base. The rare stuff becomes the really awesome looking armours. It’s all about collecting the unique looking stuff and collecting all the other rare collectable items in the game: armour pieces, potentially different potions – a lot of that is still up in the air and we’ll finalise a lot of those reward systems as we get closer to release. And those come off of things like the bosses at the end of dungeons – the raids."

Best statistical loot = BIS where I come from.

I suspect stuff like this is also part of the reason why Arena.net has backed off on this sort of candid discussion. I mean, read that interview… it’s a candid statement of intent… it’s what they WANTED to do. It wasn’t a promise. It’s what they even TRIED to do.

And then they went live… and it apparently didn’t work. Too many players didn’t buy into it. They wanted that power creep. They wanted that grind. And when they didn’t get it, they quit.

So Arena.net had to change course. It wasn’t a broken promise though, and a lot of the toxicity could have been avoided if players hadn’t twisted intent to make it one. We players ALSO have a responsibility to the environment we fester.

And if they actually explained to their playerbase why they had to do this, if they apologized that it goes against what we were told in the first place, but that it was a necessary change to keep the game going, then they could have saved themselves a -lot- of the hate they’ve received about this.

Instead they never did explain why they did it, and actually tried to masquerade that this was their intention from the get go, even though it completely went against what they said. -That’s- a big reason why people were kittened off, and it all stems from their lack of communication, and refusal to explain themselves.

I think they really do need to keep lines of communication open with their players on these forums, and not just the vague ’we’re looking into it’ stuff that game companies like to spout, I mean actually getting someone who knows what they’re talking about and can actually give us useful information, and if they’re not allowed to, then to tell us that. And of course to never over-hype things, or tell us things as fact if they’re not 100% certain they -will- be added, to let people know clearly if something may not happen.

New Sylvari dialogue in the Grove?

in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

Ridley.3691

Bit of trivia, there’s a conversation between two sylvari in Falias Thorp in Caledon Forest, where one of them mentions how she’s been having terrible dreams or something, of shadows from deep in the swamp, coming for her. Looking back on it now, it may well have been foreshadowing of Mordremoth, though the whole Great Jungle Worm chain is probably similar foreshadowing.

I would have liked to see more male homosexual relationships but my gut feeling is gw2 player are just not going to take a male relationship as well as they will take a female one. It’s horrible but true I wish it was different.

There is a male Sylvari couple early in one of that race’s personal stories. I’ve never seen any objection about it.

Also, Rytlock and Logan are clearly the #1 couple in the game.

This is an old reply but I saw nobody reply to you. Actually there was a loooooot of qq threads (that literally was it, people complaining for no actual reason) about it while in beta and launch. People just got over it with time because they are further in the game’s story. The people that cared back then have either left or passed the phase in the story so are not “being shoved down their throats” the relationship between these two characters.

I am honestly afraid Anet could not have a canon male gay couple in the main cast without horrible homophobic backlash as we have already seen it happen. And the amount of complaints about Kasjory is even more telling that a loud minority of players can’t accept homosexual relationships as normal and demand “equality” (seriously? are you kidding me????). You [general you] are simply ignoring all of the heterosexual relationships because it is default in our society. Of course a queer relationship will stick out like a sore thumb to you because of the status of our media – you’re not used to it.

Empty complaints. What if the sole cast of characters were aaaaaaaaalllll gay and women???? Who cares. It’s not like the opposite (all male and hetero) is not something that happens in other games. The “acceptable” ratio you are wanting is actually already equitable and you are making a big deal out of n-o-t-h-i-n-g.

I wouldnt have a problem with a male-male romantic plot either… as long as they start giving more screen time to more standard relationships too, OR if they would start exploring more unusual relationships like interracial.

Actually, interspecies would be more accurate I suppose.

Heh. I want to see an Asura who invents a “love golem.” LOL

The problem with this thinking is you’re saying homosexual relationships aren’t ‘standard’, and you’re calling them ‘unusual’. They really aren’t, they’re rarer, yes, but they’re just as ‘normal’ as a heterosexual relationship.

I’m not saying you’re trying to be homophobic, and it’s clear you’re not maliciously being homophobic, but you’re arguments could be considered unintentionally homophobic, because you’re giving a double standard. If there we two major heterosexual relationships in the game, you wouldn’t bat an eyelid most likely, but because there have been two ‘major’ lesbian relationships, suddenly it’s ‘odd’ and ‘unusual’, and something should be done about it. And I’m using the term ‘major’ loosely, since Caithe x Foalain was hardly a major relationship, it was only mentioned briefly in the Personal Story and a bit more in the Twilight Arbor dungeon, not to mention that the actual relationship was already over when we learnt of it. I’d argue their relationship has about as much focus as the relationship between Logan and Jenna.

The Kasmeer x Marjory relationship has had a bit more screen-time, yes, but it’s hardly been thrust into our faces, with the possible exception of their kiss, which is all it was, a kiss, hardly anything that major.

If they added another couple of lesbian relationships before adding anything else, then I’d partially agree with you, but think about it, you made this thread because a game has -two- lesbian relationships in it, -two-.

'Strengthening the Core Game'

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Ridley.3691

Many times, when people suggest things they’d like to see added to the game, they’re told it’s not gonna happen, because ANet are currently ‘strengthening the core game’. I was just wondering how they’re actually doing this.

To me, doing that would entail adding permanent features and large amounts of solid, permanent content that’s accessible to many people. However, while there has been some permanent features, like the LFG tool, which is great and all, the majority of the content we see regularly added is temporary. Temporary content does -not- strengthen the core game, because in a few months time, how much new content have you actually got in your game? Not a huge amount.

Just looking for other people’s views on this.

Role-Playing and Interactivity

Ridley.3691

It’s a big problem and one of the reasons I couldn’t get into RP in Guild Wars 2. I came here primarily for it, after spending years RPing on WoW, but because of the lack of so many features: speaking animations, not being able to sit on chairs, a lack of emotes in general, it was difficult to feel like I was really engaging with the world. I mean if I yell something and my character is just standing perfectly still, or worse, doing their idle animation, it really spoils the moment, and frankly it’s lazy of ANet. I mean WoW had all these things at or near launch, and they had 8 races which frankly were far more ‘distinct’ than the 5 GW2 races, which as said before, 3 of them are very similar in terms of body shape, on the whole.

Along with some other problems, it ultimately killed it for me and my guild, and they’ve pretty much all gone back to WoW, even without Blizzard adding much RP-focused content, the basic tools they started with were far more RP-friendly than GW2.

Dzhudin Stormbreak - worst boss fight ever?

in Personal Story

Posted by: Ridley.3691

Ridley.3691

Ultimately it’s a long, boring boss encounter at the end of a long-boring quest. The quest itself has serious problems with pace, length and tedium, not the mention the fact that there’s a part where you’re holed up outside with some asura, waiting for waves to spawn. Not only do some of them takes -ages- to appear, but there’s one with two veteran krait which are highly likely to kill you what with their high health and damage, and the fact that NPCs in this game are terribly weak.

As for the boss though, his health is stupidly high, you’ll easily kill all the abominations before his health even drops below 80%, and that stun field that appears every few seconds, coupled with his teleporting makes the whole thing just take longer and makes it more frustrating. And I also agree with the fact he does low damage, makes the fight not even feel like a fight, and more like whacking a steel pinata.

If this is actually what the dev said then that’s appalling. For starters, the populations of different races aren’t dramatically different, so a massive amount of players still play charr. Secondly, the biggest reason that charr is the least played race is almost certainly the huge problems when it comes to armour and clipping. Their tails, horns, manes all have problems with a huge amount of gear. Not to mention the problems with shoulders floating.

I eventually got to the third zone after -lots- of frustration (This is still on Infantile Mode), and have to grind baubles so I can buy the Torch to progress.

I’m not going to be trying it on normal mode -at all-, because I know full well I will just fail for hours, I’ll just finish it on Infantile and farm World 1 for Bauble Bubbles for the Mini Moto.

Ridley.3691

I agree with many of the points you made, especially with regards to continuity. The problem seems to stem from the fact that because ANet split the Personal Story into arcs and added different choices, that they decided it was much easier to disconnect them all from each other. While much easier for them, it just makes the story feel very disjointed as a whole, and when you finish one arc, everything you accomplished is forgotten about, and any characters you’ve met disappear forever, or turn up later, occasionally with amnesia as to who you are.

One of the most noticeable ways this shows itself is as you pointed out, the Charr Personal Story and your warband. You work in the first arc to put you warband together, only for them to gradually fade into obscurity throughout the next two arcs, and then vanish completely afterwards. This is made even worse if you choose Iron Legion, since I did and after assembling my warband, never once saw Cimmara Pistolwhip ever again, she vanished immediately after I recruited her!

The charr even get a utility skill to summon aid from your warband, surely a great opportunity to bring them back regularly? Nope, we get nameless, generic charr. Yes they’re from your Legion, which is something at least, but they truly missed an opportunity here as well.

So many mistakes in the Charr Personal Story

in Personal Story

Posted by: Ridley.3691

Ridley.3691

I’ve just gotten around to finishing the last part of my charr personal story (the choosing an order bit), and I found a few mistakes while going through it:

1) I chose Iron Legion, and got together an entire warband together in the first arc. However, in the later two Charr arcs, my last recruit, Cimmara Pistolwhip, never appeared. I had my other two, Reeva and Lucia (I think that’s her name), but Cimmara never once appeared ever again after the personal story quest I got her. It really took away when I was supposed to have my whole warband helping me, but was always one short. There were a couple of quests even Lucia vanished too.

2) After choosing the order I’d finally join (just before the final quest in the third arc), they told me to meet them at Lychcroft Mere, it was both voiced and in the text. However, the quest actually took me to The Lawen Pools, which is in a completely different zone.

3) During the quest Dangerous Research, I bumped into Scholar Vivian, who you later meet in a -much- later quest in Orr, What the Eye Beholds. She looked noticeably different here, with a completely different hair style and hair colour, and I think her skin colour -might- be a couple of shades darker as well. Now you could argue she might have just had her hair done, understandable, but it doesn’t seem intentional when no other NPC seems to do this.

Now these mistakes, especially the first one, just seem to say to me that they didn’t take the time to check through the Charr personal story-line as well as other races (Which I know aren’t perfect, but I haven’t seen as glaring mistakes).

Also, how have these mistakes not been fixed considering it’s now been a year since release and I find it hard to believe that no one has yet reported them.

An awesome idea, I love the look of the Eyes of Zhaitan, one of my favourite models in-game.

And those saying not to get it because he might not like the game later, so what? Even if for some reason he dislikes the game, the tattoo is all about the design of that particular monster, not the game as a whole. That argument would make much more sense if someone wanted that dragony ‘2’ as a tattoo.

Well, firstly I’d make sure you’re getting traits that are useful to you, that buff the weapons and utility skills you like using, regardless of where those traits happen to be. Don’t spend trait points -just- for the stats, I like to think of the stats as a bonus. After that, see how you do in Zerker gear, and swap some pieces out for Vitality or Toughness if you feel you need it.

I’d suggest buying a cheap set of Masterwork gear to test thing out, then upgrade when you know just what stats you need.

Berserker gear for new level 80's?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Ridley.3691

Ridley.3691

It really depends. How often do you get damaged? Do you get downed or killed a lot? If you do, you should get gear that has Vitality or Toughness on it. I’d suggest getting Power as well so you’re still doing a good bit of damage. For a third stat, either Vitality or toughness again if you’re getting downed loads, or Precision. Only get Zerker gear if you’re good at dodging and rarely die.

As for ‘Is it wrong do use a Power build over a Condition build?’ Not at all, again, it’s all about choice, though Condition builds aren’t as useful if you play with other players, since conditions only stack so high, so Power builds are usually more favoured.

Are players leeching?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ridley.3691

Ridley.3691

I ‘leeched’ many of the invasions as I was going for the 13/13 achievement for a few reasons.

1) I was really demotivated to do the event after having spent about 20 or 25 minutes in one and getting a DC, meaning my contributions were wasted. Couldn’t be bothered to risk getting a DC again so I figured it safer to just park myself in a settlement after doing 1 or 2 events.

2) The invasions are pretty exhausting, after doing a few and having to go around being in combat most of the time, only getting a quarter of an hour break before going an doing another. I know people will just say you don’t have to do a lot in quick succession, but if it’s a zone you’ve not done yet, you’ve gotta go do it because you don’t know when that zone will pop up again.

3) The events get boring quite quickly. There’s not really much variety, it’s just ‘Kill a bunch of mobs’, then waypoint and ‘kill another bunch of mobs’, for 40/45 minutes.

These so-called leechers miss out anyway though, since by not doing the events they don’t get all the extra champ chests, just the ones at the end. It’s only really worth doing to get the 13/13 achievement, which is why, since getting it, I don’t do it anymore.

Why do people want to win the event?

in Clockwork Chaos

Posted by: Ridley.3691

Ridley.3691

Farmers -do- contribute to completing the event to be fair, many of them help with the first invasion just as much as non-farmers, they also clearly help with Aetherblades, even if it takes them longer because they’re scaled up, they’re still killing the captains and contributing. Also, if Molten Alliance come before Aetherblade, then many farmers help kill them too, so anyone who says that farmers aren’t helping at all, are just plain wrong.

Also, the event isn’t even mandatory anyway, there’s often a small number of players who were just in the zone before the invasion popped up, who are doing world completion or doing the other dynamic events in the zone, who aren’t contributing, are you saying they’re playing the game wrong too?

Why do people want to win the event?

in Clockwork Chaos

Posted by: Ridley.3691

Ridley.3691

Well there’s an achievement to kill Scarlet during an invasion, so you’d have to ‘win’ it for that. Once you’ve got that though, you get much more if you just farm champs, since you still get most/all the rewards at the end.

Now I discover that I have to do 5 invasions, if I’m lucky enough to drop the stuff needed for the next part. Btw: why the ones I participated before do not count ? Why didn’t I drop the stuff before this part of the quest was activated ? After all I witnessed those events and I can tell the tale, can’t I ? And the champions have these stuff on them so I should be able to grab them, shouldn’t I ? This would be more logical and above all less time lost.

The whole “I’ve done these things before picking up the quest, so they should count but they don’t” thing is in loads of MMOs and other games so you really shouldn’t be surprised by it. If you killed 10 raptors, then someone told you to go out and kill 10 raptors, you’d have to go out and kill 10 more. It’s really nothing new.

As for it being logical to pick up the items from the champions, why? They’re random parts that you’ve no reason to pick up, not even knowing what they do. It isn’t until after you’re told about them that you pick them up, picking them up beforehand makes no sense.

As unfortunate and unfair as it may seem, ANet made this with the intention of challenging gamers since they haven’t released any content on this difficulty scale yet. Because of this, a much smaller percentage of the playerbase are going to be able to complete it anyway, and when it comes to those with disabilities, it may well become impossible to do. However, the very nature of a disability means you need to accept that there are going to be certain things you can’t do, and the only alternative is for ANet to nerf what was meant to be an incredibly difficult boss fight anyway, which isn’t exactly fair either.

The fact you got upto Liadri is great in itself, and means you’ve already seen and defeated every other encounter in the Gauntlet, not beating Liadri isn’t that big of a deal really.

And they didn’t make it so they could laugh at disabled people who couldn’t do it, it’s just that they didn’t make it with disabled people as the main target audience. They’ve still added heaps of stuff you -can- do, like the Jubilee achievements and the rest of the Gauntlet.

I have to strongly disagree. While at launch the community was very pleasant, especially for an MMO community, it’s devolved a lot since then. It started with people simply getting bored of helping others and just telling people to ‘google it’ or to ‘just use the wiki’ when people asked for help, and now it’s reached the point where people are actually abusive to people who are new and inexperienced, or even for interrupting their champion farming by playing the game correctly and completing an event.

At first the whole ‘everyone gets loot from mobs and rewards from events’ caused people to actively help each other, but now a large portion of the player base seem to be of the mindset of ‘screw everyone else, I just want what -I- want’.

If you can’t beat it, just accept it and move on, it’s only -one- fight in the entire game.

I agree that certain quality of life stuff should be added or tweaked. For example, they should make tickets cheaper, or make activating gambits free. They should auto-revive you outside the cage when you die, to avoid the WP cost and the long run back. Also obviously fix all the bugs in there and preferably move it into an instance so the zergs downstairs don’t cause lag. Oh, and the camera.

However, I’ve no real problem with the time limit since it adds to the challenge and means you can’t just stack loads of survivability and kite stuff around, which would trivialize some of the encounters. I mean I had masterwork Power/Vit/ConDam gear on my -greatsword- mesmer, I was geared horribly, and I still managed to get upto Liadri. I’m also not a ‘pro-gamer’ by any means, infact I’d say I’m not all that great at the game, it’s just about knowing tactics, luck only factors in when it comes to the tornado sylvari lady and where the norn throws meat (naturally he’d throw it right next to or even -on- his dog when I was after the achievement).

Basically the actual fights themselves (possibly excluding Liadri) are fine, it’s the logistics that breed annoyance.

Well I’ve technically seen her, but only twice to have a look at the battle briefly. It was painfully obvious I was never going to beat her, since I don’t find it fun to bang my head against a wall for hours on end, not to mention the fact there’s so many bugs around when it comes to the Gauntlet.

That said, I did -just- about manage to get enough achievements done for the meta, which is -way- more than I thought I’d manage, thankfully it’s not quite as tough as the Brawler’s Guild in WoW.

Sanctum Sprint: exploit or legit tactic

I feel it is poor sportsmanship to use the traps to mess up other people. I feel that is saying that you can’t win honestly, so you are sabotaging the other players to make up for your lack of skill.

However, they are in the game so obviously they are supposed to be used. They are obviously “intended” and the game developers I’m sure consider that to be part of the strategy of the game.

My point is, we may have different opinions on what is good and what is bad sportsmanship.

That pretty much seems to be the issue with this mini-game. Personally I think that because it’s a race, the ‘right’ thing to do, is to compete with all your heart, and to use everything at your disposal to try and win. This includes using powerups and shortcuts, including the last one which is obviously intentional since ANet must know about it and haven’t ‘fixed’ it, which would only involve getting rid of those last crystals.

I do have problems with the range of the fake powerup, and the fact it’s the only offensive one that people in first place get, and so they can spam them, but I wouldn’t demand people not use them, because people behind them are still going to be using their powerups, why handicap yourself unfairly? Either everyone stops using powerups (excluding the first three), or no one does, anything in between is just unfair. Infact, I myself find the Light Speed or whatever it’s called, to be much more unfair, but I’m not nagging at people to stop using it.

‘Good Sportsmanship’ is subjective, but I at least don’t consider it hindering yourself when others don’t do the same.

A Civil Conversation about PvE Balance and QG

I agree that they should just split skills to have different effects in PvP and PvE. It’s very hard to properly balance skills if you need to keep both in mind, because PvP and PvE are just too different from each other.

I’m not sure of that many reasons against this actually, sure players need to learn both effects, but they’ll be making a whole new build in sPvP anyway, surely that’s when they’d have a detailed look at what they now do, and work around it then. After that, simple practice will sort everything out.

My problems with the Queen's Gauntlet

in Queen's Jubilee

Just thought I’d leave some feedback so here goes:

1) The cost of tickets, and the fact gambits cost tickets.

Now I got all the Jubilee achievements and had a good amount of tickets from them, they got me upto to Liadri at least. However, I’m currently going after the achievements that require gambits, which for some reason actually cost a ticket each to be activated. I don’t know why a handicap costs extra to put on, and it means that it’s costing me 4 tickets each attempt. I’d have to farm the pavilion for ages to get enough tickets for a few attempts, and so I’m left buying them for the equivalent of about 25-30 silver each attempt. Now some people out there probably think this is chump’s change, but it’s enough for me to feel especially awful whenever I fail, knowing I just wasted a decent amount of coin, and when I’ve lost a few attempts in a row, I’ve wasted over a gold! Please at least make gambits free to activate, then I’d only be using up a single ticket each attempt.

2) The game-breaking bugs.

There’s a lot of them. I’ve had the earthquake bug making my attempts with other gambits pretty much unwinnable and a waste of tickets. I’ve had the bug where I’m notified that I’m next, but then don’t get teleported in, requiring a relog and another waste of tickets to activate gambits and queue up. I’ve had the bug where two people get thrown in at once, with both their bosses, and whoever doesn’t kill their boss first gets stuck in there, another relog and waste of tickets. And I’ve had two of these bugs happen just this morning, so they’re not bugs they’ve fixed yet. Seriously ANet, you’ve shown time and time again that whatever internal bug testing you have, it just isn’t good enough, you -need- to invest in a PTR server. Also, these bugs happen quite commonly, and I’ve used up a lot of tickets on games that I had no real chance of winning, and weren’t the challenge I’d signed up for. I’d like to request a partial refund of tickets actually.

Now I know this is a bit ranty, but I actually like the Queen’s Gambit on the whole, the different opponents have a nice amount of variety and there’s a good amount of challenge, but not on the scale of WoW’s Brawler’s Guild (Which I found a bit too overtuned).

More Colorblind Consideration, Please!

Fancia,

I believe the disagreement we’re having (like many disagreements) is semantic. When I define colorblindness as a handicap, I am supposing that for some portion of colorblind peoples, the AoE rings are significantly more difficult to see than they would be for non-colorblind peoples. This creates a disadvantage unique to that set of people and thus a handicap. While I have based my position from the standpoint that of that definition, you are hung up on the implications of perceived weakness sometimes associated with handicaps.

Unfortunately, overemphasizing societal stigmas of handicaps to the extent of denying the existence of clearly observable, mechanical disadvantages is not helpful to the colorblind community. Being disadvantaged is not inherently bad, it just means there’s an extra obstacle on the route to obtaining a goal, and carrying on as if that obstacle doesn’t exist perpetuates the disadvantage and validates the stigma by ignoring simple solutions to potentially significant struggles.

E.g. colorblind people taking significantly longer to complete Liadri because they cannot see the AoE indicators is evidence that there is an issue unique to colorblind persons, and that they are less capable of that task. It’s not necessarily an issue of willpower, determination, or skill — they simply can’t see the critical indicators, so they fail. Alternatively, simple UI tools that could make those rings more visible, thus bringing colorblind persons of otherwise equal skill to a completion rate on par with non-colorblind persons and thereby demonstrate (to society) that colorblind peoples are not disadvantaged for that task.

Anyway, at least we can agree that changing indicator colors would (minimally) be a neat feature for colorblind and non-colorblind alike.

No it’s not semantics… The rings are not more difficult to see… They’re just as visible to me as they are for anyone else, they’re just a diffrent color as it is… Im not denying the existance of colorblindness… Im saying that some people are making it into a disadvantage, and in other cases, claiming it to be a problem so that they can get some advantage, rather than play fair… Im for the ability to change color of the AoE circles… But then it should be for EVERYONE and have nothing to do with colorblindness… There’s sadly several games in the history where the competative scene all started claiming colorblindness because the colorblind modes was advantages compared to default…

So dont missunderstand me… What Im against is selective treatment, not the changing of color…

I’m sorry to say Fancia but you’re wrong. You make the sweeping statement and say that the rings aren’t harder to see, as if you’re speaking for all colourblind people. You’re colourblind, but can still see them easily, good for you, meanwhile there are plenty of people who find it near-impossible to see them without concentrating hard, and some who just can’t see them at all; pretending those people don’t exist is an incredibly hurtful thing to do, you know?

I find it incredibly difficult to see them and so I usually get hit by a lot of AoE in this game, and I would really like them to either make the red rings a lot thicker, or let you toggle the colour. Also, it’s not ‘special treatment’ because every player would have the option to use it, like most colourblind modes in games.

And finally, colourblindness -is- a handicap. By definition we can’t see colour as well as a ‘normal’ person, and so we -do- struggle with certain things, at least to a certain extent. Now if you have a hang-up with society thinking of people with handicaps in a negative light, then that’s society’s fault, and -not- game developers choosing to add a helpful option to help colourblind people play at the same level as non-colourblind people

Double tap dodging?

I use double tap, just easier and more convenient for me than using a key. I did used to actually click the endurance gauge originally to dodge, but eventually moved on from that.

And I’ve done all but the Aetherblade JP and only probably accidentally dodged off the edge two or three times, it’s not really much of a big deal for me.

A vote for Kiel means you don’t like GW? I dont understand why people whould be playing this game then.

I didn’t say that. >__>

But definitely the Evon(Abbadon) supporters seem to be more from the GW1 ‘old guard’ who have been following the lore since many years ago. Except for good old Konig from guru. xD

One of the common mistakes I read is that people think this fractal will be the same fight as in Nightfall, when it is actually the cataclysmic battle that turned the Crystal Sea into the Crystal Desert 1000 years prior. That points to not really paying attention.

I don’t think more casual observers realize that the Abbadon fractal will require a new map and new enemies because of the nature of it, but if we get Thaumanova, we will likely tread through a mostly re-hashed map and fight copy-pasted enemies that we’ve already seen.

Of course some people understand all this and still like Kiel, and that is perfectly fine. It’s a democracy.. kinda. I voted 50 times xD

Technically you’re making the common mistake that the Thaumanova Reactor fractal will take place in the area we can currently access. If you speak with people there, I’m almost certain they say that the accident was caused by Inquest experiments in an area underneath the Reactor. So it -would- be a new area.

Plus wouldn’t the Abaddon Fractal just be a ‘re-hashed version of Orr’, if you’re using that logic?

Abbadon was defeated at the mouth of torment which is part of the crystal desert formerly the crystal sea. May want to read up on lore so you can make more informed statements.

Apologies then, a false assumption on my part, I still stand by the main part of my post though.

OP sounds like the type of fool who wonders why the world is filled with so much hate poverty and killing……because we like it that way now shut up grab a machete and help me pillage and burn the nearest village or die

Don’t mistake me for a “Why is there evil in the world D=” person, I get that not everything is all happy bunnies and the like, I just find it -especially- disgusting when people can’t even discuss a fictional election with differing rewards (Which people are bigging up -far- too much anyway, I mean it’s a fractal and not a huge, massive dungeon), without hurling abuse, calling people morons and claiming that choosing their favoured candidate is ‘common sense’. I mean I know it’s just a forum and this thread is unlikely to make any difference whatsoever, I more wanted to just highlight how badly many people on this forum act. Worse than the usual poor behaviour in forums at least.

I mean this thread is already turning into the others and a couple of posts highlight exactly what I’m on about.
